clip one: ollie crosses the line, only seconds before max. The garage is screaming with excitement, and the camera pans to Aubrey and David, the girl clutching the older man's elbow as they are both sobbing with happy tears.

clip two: Ollie, soaked with champagne and sweat runs up to his dad and Aubrey. She lets him hug David first, the older man kissing his face and head, wrapping his arms around his son. Aubrey stands back, still silently crying and laughing. An engineer rubs her back and she laughs. Ollie turns to her, running the small distance and pulling her off her feet into a hug. She's got her arms around his neck, and he's holding her up by her waist. She whispers something in his ear, and he presses his face into her neck. He sets her down, although he keeps her in his embrace. He has to bend a little to keep their position, and she peppers the side of his face with kisses. Someone hands him his water, and she has to push him gently off so he can hydrate. He keeps a finger tucked in the loop of her miniskirt as he thanks the person.

Aubrey shifted, shimmying the bottom of her dress down a little. They were out celebrating his win, and she was taking a breather from all the dancing Alexandra was making her do. Ollie was a little ways off with Lewis and Charles, in a heated discussion about presumably the race. She smiled as she watched him, all pale skin and flushed cheeks. His win, his maiden win, and she was here to witness it. Even if she wasn't in love with him, it was undeniable; Ollie Bearman, the dazzling starlet was the future of the industry.

"Hey, you look lonely." A blonde man joined her where she stood by the bar.

"Oh, I'm okay. Just taking a second." she smiled politely.

"You're an actress, right? I'm Logan. I drive for Williams?" he smiled, and if she wasn't completely taken by Ollie, she would've melted. He looked a bit like her ex, all sandy blonde and muscular and american.

"Yeah. I'm Aubrey." she shook his extended hand, trying to extract it, but he held on.

"I love your work," he grinned, and she weakly backed away.

"Look, you seem really sweet, Logan, but I-"

"Aubrey." A warm, familiar hand landed on her waist, a tether back to reality.

"Hey, winner." she murmured softly at his clenched jaw and dark eyes.

Ollie never got like this, not with her ex, not with the men who catcalled her in the streets. But it was...

Okay, fine, it was kinda hot. Extremely.

Logan's puppy dog eyes widened a fraction with realization.

"Oh. Oh. Oh!" he backed off, patting Ollie's arm, "Sorry, mate."

He departed quickly, and the grimace on Ollie's face stayed.

"Why the long face?" she hummed, stroking his cheek. He held her hand to his face, the moment intimate amidst the bustle of the bar.

"Barely got to see you all night," he drew her closer, "and you look so beautiful."

"That's okay, babe. Enjoy tonight. You have all the time in the world to tell me how pretty I look."

He had an odd look on his face; it was one she wasn't sure how to read.

"Let's go back to hotel." he whispered in her ear.

"What?" she asked, "It's barely midnight!"

"I don't want to be anywhere but with you. And right now, I think we need some privacy."

He led her through the crowd, and smiled politely when people aww'd at the fact he was leaving. Alex kissed her cheek with a knowing look, and Aubrey accepted a quick hug from Charles and Max.

The car ride over in the back of the taxi was silent, tension brewing between them. She was sober enough to stay quiet, but tipsy enough to slide her hand in his larger one.

She felt relieved when his calloused fingers curled around hers.

He led her into the elevator, a heavy, thinking look on his handsome face.

"I wasn't...I didn't want him to flirt with me, y'know." she told him, avoiding eye contact. It was funny, since their hands were still intertwined.

One second she was lifting her head to look at him, the next Ollie had her pinned against the elevator wall.

His nose bumped against hers as he inhaled, and exhaled into her mouth. She didn't know if she was dizzy from the rising height of the elevator or simply him.

He pressed his lips to hers, and she gasped in surprise.

His mouth was warm and smooth, his tongue asking for entrance at the seam of her lips.

He licked into her mouth, and she let out a whine, fingers grasping desperately at his arms.

He pulled back, groaning.

"I'm sorry, we should talk. But you just looked..." he trailed off, swollen lips mouthing at the sensitive skin of her neck, nipping and sucking a little track on her skin.

"Oh-" she started, hands dragging to his chest. She knew she sounded desperate.

"I love you." He blurted out, "I had a stupid crush on you when I was like 14, and I met you and you're the most wonderful person I know. You're so kind, and you make me feel like a person, not just a famous driver. I know that you might not feel the same way I do, but I can treat you right. I promise, I will never hurt you, or let anyone."

His eyes, brown and earnest and oh so familiar made her heart ache. How could he think that she didn't love him just as much, or even more?

"One chance, please. I can make you happy, love. Just let me try." he nearly begged, hands winding around her waist.

"I love you." she murmured back, "I'm sorry it took me so long to realize it. I want to be with you forever, and I know I'm coming off way too strong-"

He cut her off with a watery laugh.

"But you've shown me what love is supposed to be. In its true form, not some half-hearted warped example. And all I can hope is that I can return that love for you. Because I really do. I don't think I've ever loved anyone like you, Ollie. You're it."

He smiled, a real, genuine smile for the first time in the past hour. Seeing him all crinkly-eyed and happy made something burst low and hot in her stomach.

She reached up and dragged him by his collar so she could taste him again, all because now she could.

When she pulled back for air, and he chased her lips. 

She giggled, and he rolled his eyes, nipping at her earlobe.

She pressed herself against him again, threading her fingers through his hair and pulling them together once more. She kissed him, this time slow and soft but both of their smiles were so big that it was more like pressing their teeth together.

"I think we missed our floor."

"That's what you're focused on right now?"

basically treats you like his own kid but hes never been a dad before so hes still learning; torn between him being over protective of you or thinking you're indestructible (which... technically you are as long as youre in the digital world). i think he finds your sweetness adorable, though if theres someone in the circus being mean to you (surprisingly i dont think jax would be too mean. a little bit of a butt? yeah but its not much different than an older brother picking on their younger sibling) i think he would pipe up and not shut up until you get an apology. starts watching IHAs more now that you're here, both to see how youre doing but also to make sure its not too crazy for you.. cant help but let the big scary monster/trial pass when you run up to it being nice. literally just snaps the thing out of existence/away/wherever. loves seeing the look of triumph on your face afterwards

POMNI:

nice towards you and probably over time keeps a closer eye on you but in the beginning i think its more like. you following her like a duckling since shes busy trying to find an exit. honestly i think pomni would have a hard time when it sinks in that theres a little kid here in the circus. how did you get here? when did you get here? i think thats what would prompt her in trying to connect with you, thus you gain another guardian figure! sticking true my idea of pomni being uneasy around kids because they can be gross and have no filter and be unpredictable i think at first she would be a little... tense around you, but overtime becomes more comfortable when she realizes youre not like that. definitely going to take a while, though.. shrugs

GANGLE:

definitely finds you sweet, lets you hang around in her room and mess with her art supplies. probably cries harder when you try to make her feel better after jax does something, usually something that leaves her with a broken comedy mask. i dont think she would let you confront jax about it, though... she appreciates the sentiment but shes not about to make it look like she sent a little kid to defend her, thats only going to give jax even more ammo even if you stood up for her on your own. sometimes lets you put stickers on her mask or glitter... ponders.. i think she reads stories to you too, every night

ZOOBLE:

i think ive already said this before but zooble gives off such older sibling energy, and i cant really explain it other than its just the personality and looks... but i guess that doesnt explain much. shrugs. sweet younger sibling, cool but indifferent older sibling. or at least you think theyre cool. and you tell them every chance you guy. i think they would just give a weird "thaaanks.." the first few times before fully leaning into the older sibling role. dont get me wrong like before they wouldnt just leave you wandering around alone during an IHA, hell i dont think they would there wasnt one going on.. but they wouldnt go out of their way to hang out with you.. but eventually they just kind of keep a closer eye on you. check in on you. ask what youre up to. theyre not attached to you by the hip but theyre definitely present in your life as a role model. tries to make you be less nice, gives you the talk that not everyone is nice and sometimes some people fake being nice in order to get what they want. but in kid terms, obviously... well not little kid terms i still think zooble would be blunt but they wouldnt be harsh

The only character that I have completely left out of this au is Cronus, as I personally felt uncomfortable with adding him, and Eridan having only child syndrome just felt right.

Actually a poser, says he listens to certain music while not ACTUALLY listening to it.

His style was mostly influenced by Rufioh, along with his friends shifting styles throughout the months. He finds them cool and wants to make himself look cool to boost his confidence, though its unclear if its working

Moving in with Equius [because of Rufioh and Horuss, they are canon in this, spesifically pre-problems]

Sollux — transmasc , he / they , bisexual.

Doesn't change a whole lot, though he's grown more reserved

Is very aware of how his friends are beginning to change [typically for the worst], and is attempting to steer clear of them

Dresses "emo," but refuses to acknowledge that he is emo and will get offended if anyone refers to him as such

A bit more stand-offish than normal / more defensive

Uses more internet terminology than usual, and is generally a bit more chronically online

Still consumes sopor, though said sopor worked as a sort of gateway drug for Gamzee and lead him to discovering wtv the alternative equivalent for weed is [strange green foliage ???]

Despite living with Kurloz, Gamzee still rarely sees him and is typically on his own in the hive [since Kurloz is usually with meulin. Yes this is pre-incident]

Has slight beef with Tavros' music taste [w the whole eminem thing bcoz of the icp and eminem beef.......]

Eridan — "male" [questioning / closeted genderfluid] , any [only to karkat] he / him [everyone else] , bisexual.

Very unsure of himself, in the midst of an identity crisis

Somewhat aware of what she wants to be, though is reluctant to let the rest of her friends know about how she feels, both in fear of judgement and how her opinions and views could change the others just because she had them [shout out pesterquest]

Big into midwestern emo, writes her own shitty love songs and dreams of one day starting a band with the rest of her pals [but at the same time she would fucking hate to work with half of her friends in this way]

Very excitable, though she dreads being queen more and more with each passing sweep. This isn't because she does not want to be queen, rather she is afraid that she will never be truly ready to handle that kind of responsibility

Tends to stress herself out alot, though she never brings it up to others in fear of bringing everyone's moods down with her venting

Feels like she is undeserving of all the privileges she was given in her life just for being a high blood

I LOVE THIS QUESTION THANK YOU FOR THIS QUESTION i have a lot of thots on this bc the whole "angel in the house" image of the ideal (middle class) victorian woman is such a fun concept to play with more under cut

ok so what im about to say rn really only applies to middle class and upper class women in this au as those are the main characters in the terror if we get into the lower classes its a more complicated and nuanced story.

anyway in victorian times women were expected to be chaperoned everywhere by an older woman such as a female relative or female servant lest she be corrupted by the ills of the world and by men etc. this is where cat/doggirls come in. its expected that if you have a daughter then you goooootta adopt a companion or two for her both to show off your status and to ensure that your daughter has a friend / chaperone / mentor / moral compass for life. so in cat/dogpeople households the cat/dogboys usually go off to whatever institution their bloodline is associated with and cat/doggirls usually become companions for the wives and daughters of the men employed by those institutions. its very different from human family structures because the expectation here is that your child will not stay with your household, youre making children knowing that they will likely not belong to you regardless of whether they are male or female and that you might never see them again once theyre adopted and they need to be adopted or else its a failure on you and your bloodline. (grim i know) this system is also why each generation of cat/dogpeople tends to be fairly large, little and hodgson and irving all have an overabundance of siblings and cousins many of whom theyve never met in their life.

interestingly, cat/doggirls are actually more valued amongst these families than cat/dogboys because cat/dogboys can only be sent off to the institution the bloodline is associated with whereas cat/doggirls can be sent off to any upper/middle class household regardless of association and it would still be considered respectable AND it creates new relationships between human families that the human owners might find beneficial (kind of like how marriage was historically the exchange of women to strengthen political ties between families). this means that excess cat/dogboy sons are often disappointing to the parents - edward little is one of these. all 3 of his elder brothers had already left for the navy so he grew up playing w his sisters and getting dolled up in their dresses and being told that oh he'd make such a pretty girl and pretty bride oh if only he'd been born a girl etc. totally doesnt fuck him up.

speaking of fucked up theres hickey and his whole situation w sophia. having a catboy as a companion for an upper class girl is a big no-no and only happened because [insert hickey backstory here that is too long and really should have its own post]. no body approves of this but sophia loves him so very much and they were inseparable up until they were separated when sophia went to tasmania with the franklins and hickey was abandoned to the streets against both his and sophias will. sophia refused to adopt a new more appropriate companion in tasmania and after the franklins returned to england she tried to find him but couldnt and assumed he died. then when it seems like the ships are lost and jane starts campaigning for a rescue mission suddenly hickey shows up and for a few blissful years they are together again. he is older and quieter and has scars he wont explain, but hes still hickey and sophia still loves him. and then sir john comes back and fucks all of that up again.

May I request headcanons with Caelus, Dan Heng, March 7th, Welt, Jing Yuan, Sampo, Kafka and Blades reaction to having 2 players in one account? One ABSOLUTELY loves the fighting (and the flirting choices) of the game, while the other is more invested in the lore (ESPECIALLY the garbage can lore). (Ill call em FP and LP respectively).

Both share one main team when they play story mode together but have their own teams when they play independently, they work together like an well-oiled machine when they play together. (FP specializing in fights with equiptment and strategy, while LP aids in lore aspects of quests, and explains lore to FP when theyre confused) The main trio have a special place in their hearts so they lovingly call em "our children"

Id imagine, they'd get petty if one accidentally plays some of the storyline ahead being like " you played ahead...??? Without me?!?!?! JAIL! JAIL FOR 100,000 YEARSS >:o" - LP

Loves the banter between the two players. He’s a quietly sarcastic little gremlin so that’s right up his alley.

Has a soft spot for the lore focused player, mostly since they like the garbage can lore and that’s something he feels he and the player can bond over.

But both players hold a special place in his heart since he’s formed a bond with both of them over the course of the game.

Dan Heng has so many questions. Why are the players calling him their “child”? He’s older than they are. And there’s certainly no biological connection.

Regardless, he knows it’s their way of displaying affection so he’ll take their comments with gratitude, despite their baffling nature.

Has a preference towards the lore invested player, mostly because history and the story behind the story are his interests as well. He feels they can bond over that shared interest.

He also appreciates it when the players find records that get added to the archive. He wouldn’t be able to read as much if they didn’t so he’s very grateful.

Unlike Dan Heng, March absolutely loves being referred to as one of the players “children”. She thinks it’s a sweet term of affection.

She doesn't like playing favourites but she has a preference towards the player that prefers fighting and flirting. She thinks they’re fun!

Like Caelus, March loves the banter between the players, as long as it doesn’t get too serious; she likes to keep things fun.

She always gets nervous when the story progresses with only one player present. She knows they only play the storyline together, so she gets concerned that something has happened to the other player.

Welt is concerned about the players sometimes…why is one of the players calling Screwllum their “hubby”? And is the other player talking about him when they talk about the old man?!

But his concern is just his way of displaying his affection for the players.

The contrast between their playing styles may have confused and annoyed him at first but it quickly grows on him and now he can’t imagine any other playing style.

Doesn’t really have a favourite between the players. If he had to choose, he might lean more towards the lore focused player since flirting isn’t really his style. But he cares for the both pretty equally.

Jing Yuan will argue over who the players are referring to when they talk about the “old men” forever. In his mind, that’s him; if he’s going to be called old, it may as well be in reference to someone showing interest in him…

He’s a general so he has a lot of respect for the players for taking turns when their respective interests and strengths are relevant.

Despite their cohesion, Jing Yuan will sometimes critique the players on their shortfallings. They work well together most of the time, but when one plays ahead, Jing Yuan just shakes his head.

He knows there’s going to be some pettiness to follow the next time both players are on together.

Sampo doesn’t know whether to be flattered or insulted when the players keep talking about him being “just a goofy little guy who’s just a little fruity”.

He loves the fighting and flirting player; they remind him a lot of himself so he feels like they share a strong connection.

Since he’s the only one with the power to break the fourth wall, he often passes on messages from the other characters. He just has to find ways to work those messages into the story so it doesn’t seem strange.

And the other characters have to repay him somehow. Sampo’s not doing that for free, he’s got his own messages to pass along as well.

Kafka is subtly honoured that the players feel so positively about her, especially the fighting and flirting player.

When she came home for the first time, she was bombarded by screams as the players celebrated her arrival.

Doesn’t have a favourite between the players but if forced to choose, she would probably say the fighting flirting player.

What can she say? Undying affection is something she can appreciate and that player certainly has that in droves for her.

Blade is more reserved about his affection for the players. His main way of displaying affection for them is increasing the number of quotes he says about death.

He knows the lore based player likes those quotes and he enjoys hearing the banter between the players after he says something edgy.

He is slightly concerned about them sometimes though. His edginess and depression is fine since he’s just a character. But it’s different for the players and he hopes they’re doing okay.

No preference between the players but he prefers it when they’re both playing together. It leads to less conflict in the future…

you know Supergirl right. heard of her. kara zor-el (spelling may wary) she's superman's cousin (usually) and has the same power set. it's me supergirl and i have all your powers

power girl is Also kara zor-el (spelling may vary) from a Different Dimension. two of them.

the details about her backstory vary a little but the agreed upon IDEA for her is that her home dimension has like collapsed somehow or the earth in it is torn to shreds or whatever. she's either like the only survivor of a dimension that went poof or she's been isekai'd here from an earth that was getting blown up by demons or whatever.

and now there's two karas and theyre forced to coexist on the same earth and they can't both show up dressed like supergirl so now power girl has to do her own thing.

that's like generally the gist of whats going on w her conceptually. she got vooped over here and now she's stranded on an earth that isn't hers with castmates that aren't the same people she knew

like i said the specifics of her backstory vary but on top of being Dimension Displaced she usually shares Supergirl's whole "after their home planet exploded she arrived to earth much later than Superman did, due to Space Shenanigans" thing. she's usually older than supergirl. and she DOES have bigger boobs also. NOT sure why that's a dimensional difference between them but i'll take it (what were they feeding her on earth 2?)

sometimes they're drawn basically looking identical. i can understand the impulse (they are both kara zor-el after all.) but i think it's kind of a shame when power girl doesn't look Older than her because i like it when she's older than her. i guess sometimes they either ditch that part or just don't feel like it. F.

anyway when they look identical you can usually tell them apart by identifying which one DC has bequeathed the Boob Window upon and that one will be power girl. works every time

to me i became enamored with her when i was reading some green lantern comic (it was my first comic, they had launched a guy's coffin into the sun and had to go get it back it was wack) and i noticed a boob window girl (my beloved) had BEEN INVITED but didnt get to DO anything. she spent all her time standing in crowd shots while other people did the main stuff. and i thought "wow. now there's a character i need to put in my purse". and the rest is history

she kind of struggles in general because she doesn't get a lot of content coming her way. (and when she does it's not usually stuff that i love.) she shares this with supergirl too 🥰

for a bonus side-elaboration on what IM doing over here in my AU, my main basis for CTDE power girl is her shenanigans in the n52 where she gets stuck here WITH another extremely normal girl (they get isekai'd together during like a big dumb demon war on their home earth). that's helena wayne she's batman's daughter in the other dimension and no such person exists on this earth. they're both stuck (together) (the only 2 people on earth who know and understand each other) (it's romance) (superbat for girls)

in that story power girl becomes like mildly obsessed for a bit with devising a way to get HOME to her own dimension and earth which is (as far as she knows) still under siege by Planet Fucking Hellmouth. shes building machines. shes using technology

(while helena believes there's nothing to go home to anymore and they should try to make a new life in this new dimension)

what gets me about it is that its SO FUNNY that this specific power girl's setup is basically a supervillain origin story that they just don't lean into because her name is on the book (obviously). (hey why do so many villains build a DimensionFucking Machine that's gonna Fuck Up the Dimensions because theyre obsessed with something on the other side anyway)

but i feel no such restraint obviously!!!!

so anyway my CTDE "Arc 1" is about Power Girl (now almost two decades deep in her desperate fixation) finishing building the ultimate DimensionFucker 9000 to get home. shes been working on this for years. she doesn't care very much about this earth and she needs to go back to her own one NOW

Helena is realizing with horror she's way too late to talk her babygirl out of this one because PG just isn't listening to her anymore (and as a human she would struggle to snap PG out of it by force). she feels she has no other recourse but to betray her most specialest girl and sell her out to supergirl, who's investigating the Weird Dimension Rift Shit that's been going on (and is strong enough to actually fight her)

And Supergirl has to stop PG because what that thing is doing to HER universe is NOT GOOD!!!!!

(Supergirl was like a teenager when her home planet krypton went kaboom--she Remembers it and feels detached from everything because she doesn't Have a home anymore + oh my god the trauma + also no one on earth even really needs her that much. but that doesn't mean PG can DESTROY THE DIMENSION!!!!)

(also in my AU the other earth is actually lost for good, so it's not only a Grief Quest but a FUTILE Grief Quest because there's no one alive and nothing to salvage on the other side of the portal anyway)

😅😅 this makes me feel like a bad writer but i feel like most of my headcanons will just be in the story ? i do have a lot of ideas that build the main couple up but maybe I should have some ideas that are separate..

headcanons (READ AT YOUR OWN RISK bc most of these will be in the story later):

-nayeon has penis envy. she tried to use the bathroom designated for alphas as a kid and got in trouble. shes comfortable and doesnt have dysphoria but she does really want one. she has an absurd collection of straps in every length and thickness to please the omegas she hooks up with -jeongyeon's first gf was significantly older than her and it was an *interesting* dynamic -momo is an omega who has only ever dated omegas. shes been in love with mina since they met -sana is capable but was not ambitious in school so she worked low stakes jobs after college before taking a sales (phone operator) job at jeongyeon's company. she worked on a different floor before she was promoted to a contract hire (her current role) and happened to spot jeongyeon 1.5 years before the start of NYNFGF. she had a huge crush on her and immediately tried to meet her but was unsuccessful. thats why shes so casual about offering to help jeongyeon and hooking up with her, she never forgot about jeongyeon (but she isnt obsessed) -jihyo isnt closeted but is pissed at having to perpetually come out as an alpha who is into alphas. she likes really masculine types who are never into her -mina had some internalized homophobia before she dated momo and tried to date alphas. all the relationships ended badly (she also had bad taste in alphas) and she is kind of an omega version of a misandrist

SMC will show up at some point but have very small roles so i'll save their details for the story

i have two ideas for Jeongyeon. i mainly like to imagine her similar to this WIL look, but with actual hair / not the bad wig lol. she has jet black hair (or black or brown) and its short

if people dont like this look i have also imagined her around FS era. the point is she has a natural hair color and a low maintenance haircut

style wise she wears suits (black or gray with a white collared shirt and simple tie) to work but doesnt wear the jacket when shes at her desk. i dont have any jeongyeon references here bc all the suits she has worn have been too fitted or too baggy. i imagine this jeongyeon to have less of a feminine body/less curves so the suit does fit her more like a man (loose, isnt tight on her hips or bust). her height is supposed to be the same IRL but if ppl want to imagine her a little taller thats fine too

Sana i imagined her close to how she is now, but maybe less supermodel looking? less thin, with a fuller face, but with brown hair. i like this IGY pic bc its recent but she doesnt look intimidating hot like she does in her Prada ads..

style wise she dresses very in line with japanese fashions, except her clothes are kind of simple and structured. she doesnt wear clothing with a lot of ruffles or overly feminine patterns but always looks very feminine in contrast to how simple her clothes are if that makes sense?

BUT ANYWAYS. yeah enough outside of the context for it to be a Relatively Normal Friendship Plus Some Admiration. like there’s an article where they talk abt how the black aces would hang out with the main rosters guys at dinners and other Activities and pick their brain abt stuff and i can def see harls doing that with miro - and by default roope - but obviously that could and likely would devolve into Normal Conversation as well.

u can also maybe get into some fun stuff that, if u struggle with repositioning roope as not a jealous hater, could help. like we Saw bubble miro (so insane so good). maybe harls was a good luck charm. something like that. etc etc.

dreamt of a game last night. its display looked like a bunch of large pixels. like 2but sized. you played as one white pixel. the background was black but on it were several blobs of differently colored pixels that were procedurally generated. the goal of the game was to move around and hit the dark blue pixels in order to "grow" them. you had a timer for how much time you had left to hit the blue pixels, and a health bar which would deplete as the timer went down. hitting the blue ones would add to both of these bars. hitting differently colored pixels would only deplete the health bar.

the movement was icy, you slingshot around the map and have to control your velocity speed acceleration all of that stuff. and it was very easy to start moving Extremely fast.

in my dream i remember this game having a cult following and it being related to some form of apocolypse. gotta go back and explain this part. hang on.

between bits of gameplay i kept seeing a character (originally it was caliborn but they changed to someone else quickly, but they had an original personality like caliborns which is relevant for this) who lived in a bunch of old ruined metal scaffolding. they were bored and immortal and watching time slip by extremely quickly. eventually they decide to leave and begin sailing on a giant pirate ship to the main populated area. by this time the world has already become post-apocalyptic, but theres still established society. the first character decides to set up shop in a building with metal shutters. he doesnt do much else differently here than just waiting, but he does begin to collect items, seemingly with no theme. this continues for several years before he eventually just disappears completely. forgotten and largely unknown.

from here theres another two characters which appear and i begin to follow. one is a large older man, kind of close to what senshi looks/acts like, but not really. he carries a big wooden backpack thats beautifully carved and has tons of little drawers. the top of a cuckoo clock is in the center. im gonna call them sen for this. sen is being trailed by a very generic apocalyptic looking character, theyre scrappy and dirty.

sen combs over the area hes walking through very meticulously. he will occasionally pick something up from the dirt and put it into one of his drawers. he gives a wide berth to anyone else whos in the area, and sticks to the darker, less treaded areas of this street. this is until the road ends and branches off into pathways and allyways through an overgrown forest. sen sits down and begins looking over what he collected. this is when scrap approaches him and begins to ask questions. what hes doing there and what he has "stole." the first question goes unanswered but the second is "items that resonate" with the cuckoo clock and the backpack. this makes no sense to scrap and so sen demonstrates.

in one drawer there is a shredder-like mechanism when opened. you place anything inside it and it rattles around before being caught and pulled under. it is not meant to damage. sen places a long broken gold necklace into the mechanisim and it makes a gentle clunking sound before disappearing. this somehow is "resonating" with the whole backpack. scrap still doesn't understand any of this and sen offers to show them.

this takes us to a place seemingly inside of the backpack. the place is teeming with people all dressed in similar styles to sen. they pay him little mind as he comes in, just greeting him mostly. scrap is taken through here to the location where it opens up to a large screen and the pointed roof of the clock. the screen has this game on it, ready to play.

the entire group here is centered around this one game, which appeared out of nowhere during the post-apocalypse, when no other games were being made. it has no history no author no discernable source. but it plays easily and without the need of much power. only the power the resonance of the items found give it.

sen allows scrap to play several rounds of the game to learn what it is. they are not very good at it and have to keep restarting. however they do eventually unlock something on the menu. its a boss type level, completely different to the rest of the game, verses shadow. the game still displays in 2 bit type graphics and you now control a tiny character (seemingly meant to be sonic?) and have to traverse a rundown metal cityscape while being chased/fending off/fightinb shadow. this battle isnt new to the group in the clock, however its never been beaten, nor is it even assumed to have a win condition at all. shadow has no health bar, and the terrain appears generated like the first game.

regardless, scrap continues playing and gets considerably far after a few attempts. they begin drawing attention as people in the room start to think there might actually be an ending. scrap gets extremely close to whats being predicted as the end, but dies at the very last moment. i wake up before i see what happens next.

It’s a draw between Troy and Lucy (both stopped some time before turning 9-10 ish)

At the super max , Dolph pretty much wanted to be close to his babies as much as possible and would have them within arms length when sleeping. Troy was his first baby and was considered special both for being something Dolph did that made life rather than end it , and he considers Troy the one positive he got out of his relationship with Alex so already Dolph was protective. But when Lucy came along prematurely and was fighting to breathe, that protectiveness became extreme for several months and Dolph could barely sleep until Lucy became fully developed and turned out healthy 

Sarah didn’t provide much sleeping space though so it’s not like he had much choice in that, but Dolph enjoyed the cuddles so it wasn’t an issue for him

That didn’t change when Dolph found himself under Pagan’s mercy , which is around when Leo is born. Pagan was “nice” enough to give Dolph and the kids their own little apartment to live in at his own manor (still deciding what Jade will be doing here) on a few conditions. One being that Dolph becomes an entertainer for Pagan’s shows (don’t worry, Hao will be his body guard so no one harms the merchandise) and two, Troy spends the weekend with Pagan

Dolph did try not letting that last one happen, or at least have not have Troy go on his own but Pagan held all the cards and until a better opportunity was available, Dolph couldn’t stop it

Leo was a baby when the change of living situation happened and was given a bit more space to sleep compared to his older siblings, so when he got a bit older he didn’t suffer from separation anxiety like they did. Leo barely remembers living with Pagan because the family got out before he became two and found a far better situation, so he would’ve stopped sleeping with mommy around 4 or 5 isn (I’m thinking Dolph moves to Canada, France or something). He’s a laid back kid and rarely gets stressed out about anything,it actually frustrates everyone around him he doesn’t seem to take anything seriously (this is especially a huge conflict between him and Troy when they’re teens/adults). Leo’s very different to his father Sam, which is something Sarah technically wanted but if they ever met she’d find the results isn’t to her liking

Lucy actually likes her own space compared to the other kids, but she did end up being influenced by Dolph’s behaviour in her development stages. She’s a light sleeper and often wakes up like a guard dog ready to pounce several times at night , this behaviour only worsened when living with Pagan and she became very attached to Troy when he showed signs of being really uncomfortable after every weekend, and she tried comforting Dolph through the weekend nights when Troy was sent to stay with Pagan

Troy is a quiet and timid kid, very much a mommy’s boy. It’s hard to tell if being born basically a prisoner influenced that or if it was Dolph being there almost 24/7 up till they left the super max , but Troy does not like being away from his mommy for too long. This became increasingly awful to handle when he had to spend weekends alone with Pagan. (Pagan isn’t a predator btw, but he is still an awful person projecting his issues onto a helpless child) The weekends at Pagan’s caused Troy to have horrible night terrors and he often woke up crying (sometimes even wetting the bed), he’d practically be clinging to Dolph through the night

Pagan usually dressed him up in fancy clothes and played with his hair, when he wasn’t trauma dumping on him or saying shit he was too young to be aware of , but Pagan was often rough with Troy’s hair and shamed Troy for crying, or ever displaying any hint that he was a person and not a way for Pagan to get back at Alex. Being made as a dress up doll made Troy hate his hair. Which is a shame because he’s the only child that inherited his grandmother’s hair , something Dolph especially loved when Troy was first born as it made Dolph remember details of his mother he thought he had forgotten forever

Pagan was extremely pissed off when he found Troy had decided to cut his own hair off btw

As for the twins Mei and Ai? Probably some point after they were potty trained as they had a relatively normal childhood start compared to everyone else and didn’t have to deal with Sarah or Pagan’s nonsense lmao, though they’re very fond of Lucy and do like having sleepovers with their big sister

first ! lip.hiyo is a ship between hi.yori su.zumi and the members of lipx.lip ai.zo and yu.jiro . hiyo/ri is their manager and she's a girl from the countryside who moved to tokyo to study and work on becoming a track and field athelete . lipx/lip are themselves. their relationship in canon is. friends at best. something else at worst. being the little shits they are, lip/lip are nothing short of assholes to hiyo.ri for the majority of their earlier canon interactions. she states multiple times in her stories that they make her feel stupid. while i do think they respect and care for each other as coworkers, i still dislike how they treat her as a person, especially how they put down her feelings. before and after her.oiku where hiyo.ri undergoes a transformation courtesy of lx.l dressing her up so she can confess to another member of the idol series, asu.ka kai.do (discontinued due to the collaborative project ending) — they continue to tell her that had it not been for the pretty dress or the makeup, she wouldn't be worthy of being called a heroine. she wouldn't be a "girl" in their eyes. which is where a lot of the ships stem from.

but wait! you're probably asking yourself, or well, me: "secchan-sensei! lipx.lip bully each other a whole damn lot too! they bicker and they insult each other! wouldn't this put shipping them in the same category as lp/hy?" excellent question! while i understand why people can perceive it similarly, there is one big difference. the idols and hiyori exist in an unbalanced power dynamic. no i do not mean that in a literal sense, but in a social, emotional sense. you said it yourself, lip/lip bully each other! theyre mean and rude and crass and jerks to EACH OTHER. there is a back and forth movement. they bite and bite back, so to speak. while with hiy.ori as you're aware, she swallows her pain and bottles up that sadness and holds back those tears, she never responds or insults them back because she's not that kind of person. above all things, hiyori remains kind to ai and yu but the fact that they hurt her in ways they don't even acknowledge are not mutually exclusive.

if you're familiar with hone.yworks lore, as well as lx.l themselves, you probably know at least an adequate bit of their trauma. to put it simply, a.izo struggles with interacting with women, to the point where he finds them difficult to be with. this is often translated to him hating women, so as an idol with a predominantly female fanbase, this is a big problem. this trauma stems from his mother, who for the greater part of his childhood, was an abusive drunk. not only that, his older brother, whom he looked to for support and comfort when their home life was at their worst, is a playboy who toyed around with women and relationships with hopes of avoiding the loneliness at home. while ken grew out of his issues and ultimately became a better person, his actions growing up had a significant negative effect on ai.zo . he isnt jUst a miSoGyniSt dear fuck

yujiro, on the other hand, is the stepson of national treasure, tamagoro someya, a master of kabuki. his mother, tae, married into the family and he has a younger stepbrother, koichiro. tamagoro very explicitly tells him that he will not inherit the kabuki legacy, stating that he "lacks beauty" and is half-hearted. this is despite the fact that yujiro pushed himself beyond his own strength, to the point of starvation and isolation, all for the sake of pleasing his father — who never intended to acknowledge him in the first place. yujiro remained inadequate, lacking, some part of him, despite his best efforts, would never fit into the beauty of the roles his father had crafted for the stage.

then, we talk about the infamous hero.taru anime. now, honeyw.orks anime have this curse where they're either bound to flop incredibly or butcher the characters enough it appeals to a general audience and completely destroys their characters. the hero.taru anime was made to promote lip.x.lip and profit off their popularity in the idol genre showcase hiyo.ri's heroine story. the story spans multiple mvs, from h.eroine iku.sei keikak.u -> her.oine wa hei.kin ika -> her.oine tarum.ono . there's a general difference with as.uka being cut out and replaced with nagisa after he's finally released from the honeyw.orks basement. aaand i'm getting sidetracked. as someone who watched every single anime hnw has put out, i can confidently say...

her.otaru fucking sucks.

despite being an anime centered on hiy.ori's development as a heroine, it overuses fanservice and became a cookie cutter shoujo mixed with a little idol for the views. fuck, the main conflict was literally between lip.xlip's manager and their biggest fan who had a crush on aiz.o . DO YOU SEE MY ISSUE. ok that aside. the anime completely butchers hiyo's character by making her overly dependent on lx.l. not to mention the bathroom scene. ick. the anime also completely butchers lxl by erasing their issues and making them into "just backup male leads if nag.isa doesnt sell well" and he didnt bc he was there for one fucking episode . back to my point, the anime has a particular scene pertaining to their trauma, which i have elaborately expanded above, and dumbs it down to: [2]

bad, right? not the worst butchering of it yet. you see, SOMEHOW, the herota.ru anime made the already fucked hani.wa timeline WORSE by turning yum.e fanf.are into a song about hiyori. i'm going to start tearing and biting bc this frustrated me SO MUCH . yume.fan is a song of aizo and yujiro about their struggles as stated above, and yet it was percieved as a song made to make hiyo.ri fall in love with them.

a lot of people came out of hero.taru shipping lip.hiyo after seeing their relationship and interactions in the anime. people tend to ship them with hiyor.i because "sHe's nOt LiKe oThER giRls" . of all the things i hate abt lip.hiyo and the hero.taru anime in general, i hate how it ruins hiyo.ri's character. i hate how they refuse to acknowledge that she enjoys feeling beautiful, she likes being a feminine, she wants to be a heroine — her issues don't lie in her not being beautiful enough to fit in the heroine mold, but the fact that she can be heroine, regardless of how she perceives herself!

well, introspective reasons aside, i hate the ship on a personal basis bc i've recently found out most ppl who ship it are pushing to make people believe it's canon ? like who the fuck does that. ONE, hiyori does have a canon love interest, nag.isa shiran.ami. TWO, they have never even remotely shown any romantic interest to her ??? well fuck i mean if you count calling her derogatory names, telling her she'll never be a girl if she doesn't dress up, or saying she'll never get a romeo if she rejects nagisa counts as flirting then sure i believe you. THREE, you can literally ship it even if it isn't canon. there is nothing stopping you??? it's giving hypocrisy bc a long loooong time ago they were mad at ai.yuu shippers for continuously mentioning their parallels and the possibility of them becoming canon and they called them [BEEEEEP] . you get the point.

negativity aside, at this point i've probably put you through a horror. sorry about that. all in all, i prefer ai.yuu and nagi.hiyo over lp/hy. i dislike het.lip in general because why would you want to inflict this upon any girl. come on. they can do better. im kidding but you get it. ai and yu trust each other more than anyone, they are canonically each other's most important person, and they are equals in persevering to achieve their dreams. HELLO I bring an offer of my take on an older Franziska design, notes and thoughts on it under the read more cause I thought abt this so much HJGKHLJ

-A big inspo for this was looking at how Maya's older design looks! I noticed that her designed had more added to it rather than changed entirely (Her kimono is still there its just longer, her hair is longer, she has a hood around her shoulders and the things on her forearms) but its still pretty close to how her younger fit looks, so I kept that in mind with Franziska's design, I think it broke it a b i t by changing her vest but I still kept the general shape of it so HGJKH

-As I was drafting up different designs for her I did look at a few other peoples design for an older fran, and I think the most common trend was shorter hair, which I rEALLY liked so I used it here as well! I kept it shorter while maintaining the diamond shape her hair makes (the two lil flyaways at the top of her head are mainly a style choice on my end, I originally started drawing Miles with them and gave em to Franziska as well cause I think its cute if they match like that ghjkhlj)

-I kept her bow largely the same, it's a bit smaller and I excluded the brooch (?). I wanted her design to slightly move away from Manfred's way of dress and the brooch was something they both shared, so I ditched it

-I kept her sleeves largely the same but I made the looser, the poofs on shoulders are smaller and are (at least in this world, not sure it would work irl) being kept up by those two things on her upper arms (literally no clue what theyre called but theyre very fun HJGKH)

-The biggest additon here is the coat/vest (?? no fucking idea here man HGJKHLJ) thing she's wearing, I saw a few designs where she had a coat around her shoulders and while I REALLY liked the way it look, I couldn't make it work in a way that I was happy with but I liked the bigger silhouette it gave her, so I opted to just make a combo vest/coat thing that would give me that sweet sweet silhouette I was looking for and I think it just looks fun HGJKHL

- The vest is kinda the same, I kept the way buttons in the middle, but I changed it's colour from black to a blue, because I wanted to bring out blue as her colour a little bit more in her clothing colours, the gold trim has been reduced to just the top and the bottom

-her gloves, skirt, tights and shoes are pretty much the same, I played around with the idea of giving her pants but again i couldnt make em work too well so I just stayed with her skirt!

-not exactly design related and more how I see Franziska in this stage of her life but while she still has her whip on her, its concealed now and she uses it far f a r less, she doesnt have much of a need for it anymore, shes become less aggressive over the years but she's still pretty strict and firm, shes just getting better

Of course I keep all my things as gender neutral as I can but you will be in the 'bride' position but considering that this spouse is also gender ambiguous - the title doesn't really mean much. Also personally I wouldn't care if I walked the aisle or it was future partner. As long as someone does it then there's no issue.

Additional: I'm just a pasty white man whose only been to one wedding; my parents - so my only experience is a Christian/Catholic white people wedding - I just wanted to add this as I'm aware in other cultures and countries weddings are very different.

But Lucifer refused. He refused to cry especially Infront of you. But what he didn't realize was the single tear of sadness and joy falling down his face.
