Wait, that "strutting around like he's so cool" line from Ino was a mistranslation?? What was the actual line supposed to say, now I'm super curious and super sad! 😭 

First the “Him! Hah!” is supposed to be translated as “Hmph” (フン).

And the actual line is “強がってはしゃいでるだけよ” which roughly translates to “(he/she) is just pretending to be strong and in high spirits.”

In Japanese, the sentence doesn’t use any pronouns but because we have the context, which is Ino responding to a girl saying, “Hey, Ino! Sakura has become brighter recently, hasn’t she?”, we know Ino is referring to Sakura. Japanese is a pretty context heavy language, and the mistranslation probably came about because no pronouns were used so the translator assumed Ino was taking about Sasuke. I’ve seen other other translations that are more accurate, it’s just the Viz one that does it wrong.

saw a comment about how Gojo’s afterlife could’ve actually been a product of his imagination that was his acceptance of death—I never even considered it, although now it feels like an obvious option on the table. Haibara mentioning him butting into Nanami’s death is the only thing I can see going against that, but Gojo knows of their past that affected Nanami his entire life, so it doesn’t debunk it. When Jogo was dying, he spoke of reincarnation with Hanami and Dagon, and that too was vague in how real it was (at least for Hanami and Dagon being there), but was likely Jogo himself accepting his and their ends. A surprisingly similar end to Gojo’s. That interpretation does make everything 10 times sadder though.

Wait no continuing from my tags on my previous reblog, Veronica and her relationship with Scary I think explains a lot of why Scary has such a bad grasp on her emotions.

Like Veronica doesn’t seem like a very emotionally open person to begin with, in addition to the fact that she was a single mom lawyer who wouldn’t have the time to spend with Scary if she wanted to keep a roof over their heads.

Scary mostly grew up with a single parent who worked a job with very long hours. She probably didn’t get to have those emotional talks with her mom when something was bothering her, maybe bc if it wasn’t big enough than she couldn’t justify talking to her busy mom about it, or maybe Veronica just didn’t pick up on it. That’s just a natural part of being a single parent, you miss things, and sometimes those are important things, even if you try your best and you love your kid.

It could also in part play into Scary’s want for attention? Like that’s naturally a very teenage want, but like add on the fact that her mom is generally a very busy woman and her limited free time is suddenly being taken up by this loser cringe guy that she started dating instead of spending time with her cool daughter.

Like I think this is all SO interesting when contrasted with Taylor’s relationship with Cassandra. Cass is very very rich. In all honesty, she doesn’t really NEED to work. She can easily take time to spend with her kid, and I think it really shows in how close she and Taylor are.

Just, comparing the two teens and their relationship with their single parent moms in relation to their jobs and their class is just very interesting to me

Okay no you know what? I’ve held my tongue on this for long enough (everyone in my life knows my opinion on this topic) - I have a very deep beef with chain restaurants changing their soft pretzels as if that isn’t a direct personal attack against me, specifically. First it was Applebees beer cheese and pub pretzels like 5 years ago. They used to look like this:

Long, skinny, look like they’d be dry as fuck but they were soft on the inside with a delightfully crisp exterior and the beer cheese was DIVINE. This is what they replaced it with:

This switch happened around the same time Applebees added breadsticks w/ Alfredo dipping sauce to their list of appetizers. When I tell you that these things are just straight up the breadsticks with a spray tan. I’m not sure if the breadstick flavor made the beer cheese taste like Alfredo, if they mistakenly gave me Alfredo sauce, or if they straight up replaced the beer cheese with Alfredo sauce. I can tell you that I tried it at two different locations (hoping the second would have the old ones) and then swore off Applebees forever.

But you wanna know a recent, even more heinous soft pretzel betrayal? Monk’s Bar & Grill. I don’t think I’ll even have to explain this one. Here’s the old pretzel option:

5. Who is the cheesier one of the two?

Wes, for sure. Avery can be pretty corny too sometimes, but Wes takes the cake on this one. When they were younger and Wes finally worked up the courage to ask Avery out on a proper date, he brought flowers and dressed in his Sunday best, asked Avery’s dad if he could take his son out, the whole kit and kaboodle. Does shit like kissing the back of Avery’s hand to say goodnight. Avery finds it all horribly endearing.

20. Who randomly brings home a stray puppy/kitten to adopt?

Both. The both of them are ultimately so softhearted, in their original universe setting they end up raising a dangerous mutated canine because Avery found the pup after the mother had been killed. Wes ends up raising a duckling that their kids brought inside because it imprinted on him.

27. Craziest place they had sex?

Hard one because they have a strange habit of fucking in places where they shouldn’t. Abandoned houses, riversides, barns, truck beds�� etc etc. On top of the operating console in a military command center, I think.

38. If/when they have kids, what is their parenting style (or pets-who does what)?

Wes tends to opt for gentle but firm guidance and being a little more of an authority figure than a best friend. That isn’t as to say he isn’t affectionate with their kids, because he certainly is. Especially once they hit their teens he tries to be a little hands-off so they can make their own decisions, but makes himself accessible to them if they need support. Good at calming a kid down from a breakdown. Wes is also great with little kids, has the patience and kindness for toddlers doing toddler stuff.

Avery is the dad who’s also his kids’ best friend. He’s very good at listening to kids gossip and talk about their problems— this makes him especially good at handling teenagers. He’s not quite as good at Wes is at discipline. Especially once he’s older, he’s very aware that he used to have a short temper and sometimes overcompensates. Still, he is The Fun Dad.
