You know, the reason why I'm sceptical over communities on Tumblr is because I think the issue is not how it was lacking in a community feature but how there seems to be a lack of a community mindframe for a lot of the userbase. There's only so much you can do when a lot of people have devolved into only ever using likes rather than actually getting in touch with others -- and there's only so much conversation you can withstand when every new addition equates to reblogging a post in full and potentially annoying your followers with "walls of text" (since, let's be real, this isn't a text-forward website)...

#i'm not counting replies because they're so very limited. i use them quite a lot myself but yeah they're way too restricted #idk i was Having Thoughts. every now and again the crazy dream of starting a wn comm on dreamwidth knocks at my door #but then i think that the fandom is pretty... dead tbh and people don't seem interested in the sort of discussions a comm might house #(not to mention how very few wn fans are on dw -- much to my disappointment!)#or the sort of overall events we could have too. this time of the year is great for gift giving for instance #have you ever looked at fandomtrees? and yet it's just silence here. we go on the wn tag here and we advertise our new fic chapter #or we post art that gets likes but very few verbal reactions all in all so there's no way of knowing what the like actually means #(i know i have serial likers among my followers but tbh we've traded a few words sometimes. i know you guys are real and not bots lol)#(and i appreciate you! i do! though it's a lot more fun when we do get to talk every now and again via dm or elsewhere :) )#and so we watch this nice thing we had just shrivel away and people go on to the next new shiny fandom i guess. eh.#(i was rereading a few of the posts i have on my #meta fandom talk i guess #tag and it inspired this melancholy post LOL i'm fine i'm fine)#not-shenunigans

now that artfight is over i can take some time to properly design them before i make new refs

#null havoc damage #ultraman showtime #allegro and lyle are basically done i think. i just gave allegro his arm fins back #i took them off at one point but after remembering that belial and geed have them im putting em back on #i still think lyle looks too simple but then again whenever i try to draw a showa ultra i go 'this is too simple'#so im leaving him as he is .#i adapted zero darkness' markings for zstar this time and i like it a lot i think the lightning bolt esc patterns look super cool #marize also looks too simple but alas... i dont want to overdesign her either #im also not sure i like the shade of pink i picked for her metal i might mess with her colors more #but i like the idea of her metallic bits being iridescent bc she looks like a fish #i did not attempt to do that in the shading though . which may be why it looks bad #idk. my power is flickering so im too scared to draw on my pc so ipad doodles are happening instead #i also dont know why i gave zstar that stupid ass smirk i just drew it on her and was like yeah ok #I DIDNT MEAN TO MAKE THE BOYS MATTE AND THE GIRLS SHINY. Ok I got a lot more of a reaction than I thought I would for my shiny duo fic idea, and a kinda major part of it is that it’s in a diary/journal type of writing. Basically everything you read is either from Gems diary, or from Pearls journal. Idk if anyone would be interested in reading a fic in that format or if I should just write it normal, so a poll shall decide!

this drawing took SIX HOURS because I redrew Peter's expression like four times and I still hate it, but my hand hurts and I'm sick of looking at it lmao

i still like the picture itself and I enjoyed coloring it (sometimes i hate coloring, sometimes it's hypnotic, i can't explain it)

I just don't think his expression correctly conveys his emotional state (dead inside/emotionally wrung out/desperately needs a nap)

i feel like he looks bored and pouty instead which isn't what i wanted but *waves hand* whatever 😂 let him have his petulant blue steel

this is only 5% a barbie joke, I would never spend 6 hours drawing something purely for the meme; the other 95% is just Peter's actual mugshot when he gets arrested for assault on campus in my AU—

if this was regular 616 Peter getting arrested it wouldn't be by campus police (lol) and the expression would be WAY pissier and less sullen LMAO (ntm less likely to allow himself to be arrested) but the context... Context/extenuating circumstances does change things.

the ID number on the dry-erase placard is just "spidey" converted to numerals LMFAO

this was the "original" expression (actually like the third expression I drew, i redrew his eyes like six times) before I deleted this one and drew the OTHER version above lmao it does look a little more dead-eyed but it just wasn't working for me idk... chibi expressions are so much easier 😩
