Omg omg reader doing skincare on Sev? (Forgot to put my emoji lmao)
-🥨
GOD this is such a cute fucking idea oh my god.
men and minors dni
sevika knows that she has a simple skincare routine. she watches silco get ready every morning, mildly amused by the fact that the man uses more products than even she does-- so she knows that there's all kinds of lotions and potions out there she's never even heard of.
when she meets you, she finally gets a peek into that world.
who knew there was so much shit for your skin? sevika's only ever used bar soap and body lotion-- yes, for her face too-- and she's been fine.
but, through you, she learns there's so much more. there's muds and masks you can plaster on your face, there's serums and spfs, acids and exfoliates and moisturizers-- it's a lot.
still-- each time she presses a kiss to your soft, smooth cheek, sevika can't help but sigh at the flowery smell that clings to you.
and when she's sitting in bed beside you, reading while you watch a show and let a sheet mask soak into your face, sevika wonders what it might be like if she upgraded her skincare, a bit.
"baby." she mumbles. you turn over to look at your girlfriend.
"yeah, love?"
"does my skin need all that stuff yours does?" she asks.
you shrug. "i don't think my skin really needs a face mask once a week-- but it's fun. makes my skin all shiny and plump for a few days. you might like it babe, it's really relaxing."
so, the next time you swipe on a mud mask, you call sevika into the bathroom. "babe, come here!"
"what?" she asks, shuffling into the bathroom as she pulls her sleep shirt on.
"wanna try a mask?" you ask.
sevika smiles.
you paint it on for her, and she can't deny that she likes the cool feeling of the mud on her face, and the warm way you gently move her face with her chin pinched between your fingers.
"what now?" she asks, looking at your matching green faces in the mirror. you giggle.
"wait for it to dry 'n we'll wash it off. i can slice some cucumbers to put over your eyes, if you want the full salon experience." you tease.
but sevika seems interested, smiling and nodding sweetly. "okay."
you grin, then rush to the kitchen to scour the fridge for the veggies.
that's how it starts. it snowballs from there.
in the morning, sevika stands right by your side as you wash your face, apply your spot treatments, and rub in all your skincare for the day.
you'll do one step on your face, then turn to sevika and do the same on hers.
you guys don't have the same skin type, so some of the steps you skip on her. but it becomes both of your favorite part of your morning routine.
sevika loves feeling your hands gently massage her face, you love the sweet, trusting, way she closes her eyes and leans into your hands.
for her birthday that year, you buy her her own pots and jars of products-- things specified for the little dry patches on her nose and the pimples she gets between her boobs.
she loves it-- but she still refuses to apply it herself. half the reason she's getting into skin care in the first place is so she can feel your hands on her each morning and evening.
your night routine is a lot slower-- neither of you have anywhere you need to be.
you'll gently sway in one another's arms, sipping on whiskey or wine as you slowly, sweetly massage away the little furrow in her brow, the tension she carries in her jaw.
she sleeps like a fucking baby after-- all coated in her perfumed creams and relaxed from your touch, smushed right against you in bed.
within a year, sevika becomes a skincare expert. at work, she starts recommending products to her goons. she starts wearing the little star pimple patches you wear-- out in public and everything. she doesn't care that it contradicts her badass appearance-- she's matching with her girl. that's all that matters to her.

OH! sevchino thought that i suddenly had. in one of the asks you mentioned that you’re from SEA (me too!) was wondering what arle’s reaction would be if she would to taste south east asian cuisine, would she like them or would she have certain preferences?
omg i love this question !! had to sit and think about this one for a while HAHA for my non SEAsian or even non-msian gamers and moots, i'll add footnotes to the bottom of this post for each dish/food :)) ok last note before we get into the ask, i'm msian myself, so my 'expertise' as it were is in msian dishes (or, the msian variety). SEA is not a monolith and i won't pretend to know every single SEA dish out there, so the dishes i describe in this post won't be reflective of the true breadth of SEA cuisine !! ok disclaimer over tq for listening to my ted talk 😌😌😌
for breakfast foods i am legally obligated to make her try nasi lemak at least once bcos c'mon now. if i don't plug nasi lemak to foreigners i feel like the govt will kick my door down and revoke my citizenship. i usually take mine with fried chicken BUT i feel like arle would like paru (lung) ?? don't ask me why i am operating simply on vibes LOL but aside from that i think she'd be an absolute fiend for kaya on toast which honestly ??? so sexy of her, kaya is so fucking good
main dishes are a little difficult, admittedly, because a lot of them do have a generous amount of spice if i'm comparing it to fontaninan/european standards. i feel like arle has okay-ish spice tolerance, so i think arle could sit down and enjoy a toned-down rendang or an asam pedas that's more asam (sour) than pedas (spicy). anything higher than that like a straight up sambal might destroy her tastebuds LOL unless it's the kind of sambal that's got a sweeter aftertaste, though EYE personally don't like that kind of sambal LMAO as for noodle dishes, can't go wrong with a good ol' laksa or bakso. these are generally not the most spicy (and you can choose the spice level for bakso) as far as i've encountered them, so it's another win for arle !! also char kuey teow !!!! i prefer the dry version over the wet version, but both are FIRE and so fucking good. it's also not the spiciest, like you can get kuey teow that is kinda mild, so arle would be able to handle it 👍👍👍
ok now that we've got main dishes aside it's time to get really into it and go right to the sweet stuff and BOY do we have sweet stuff... i dunno why but i feel like arle would most enjoy semperit ?? maybe because i think it's very similar in taste to what you can find in fontaine. there's also bahulu, which is functionally the same as a sponge cake, just a lot smaller, like cookie sized. moving on from the kuih though we got the heavy sugar hitters like ais batu campur and cendol. i don't think arle would actively seek either of these out, but she will indulge in them if EYE drag her ass out to the night market to get some 😌😌😌 also i would 100% get her to try bandung and honestly i feel like she might like it !! but in moderation, because god that thing is sweet asf 💀💀💀
ok i think i've written everything i got for now so i can cease my rambling sdhlsjdhlsjhd in conclusion i feel like arle would gravitate more to the sweet foods than the spicy foods, but she can sit down and appreciate the spicy stuff once in a while !! in any case, thank u for the ask anonnie !! i think i got a little carried away but this was fun :))
nasi lemak - rice cooked in coconut milk and usually served with deep fried peanuts and anchovies, sambal, fried or boiled egg, and sliced cucumbers. can also be eaten with fried chicken or rendang.
paru - fried beef lung. personally not a fan, but it's usually eaten as a side dish to accompany nasi lemak.
kaya - a spread kind of like jam made from coconut milk, eggs, sugar and pandan leaves.
rendang - slow cooked and braised meat in coconut milk, seasoned with a metric fuckton of herbs and spices. my personal favourite is beef rendang, though it comes in chicken and lamb variations also.
asam pedas - a stew dish that involves fish cooked in with tamarind (asam) juice and assorted spices. usually will also have okra/lady's finger and/or eggplants added in as vegetables.
sambal - spicy chili paste, though some variations make it a little sweeter. sambal has a bunch of different versions, but my personal favorite is sambal belacan, which is sambal made with fermented shrimp paste (it's so fuckign good................ belacan my beloved)
laksa - sour-spicy noodle dish served in broth that contains coconut milk and/or tamarind, with chicken or prawn as toppings.
char kuey teow - stir fried rice noodles, usually prepared with lard but pork-free variations also exist. fried with cockles and prawns, but sometimes also with chicken or beef.
bakso - beef broth noodle soup with meatballs but SEAsian style 😎😎😎
semperit - a kind of crumbly custard cookie
bahulu - small cookie-sized sponge cakes
ais batu campur - shaved ice with red beans, syrup, condensed milk, evaporated milk, cendol, corn and agar-agar cubes. you can also add other stuff but iirc this is the typical combo. colloquially known as ABC.
cendol - shaved ice with green pandan-flavored jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar.
bandung - rose syrup mixed with evaporated milk and/or condensed milk
#sev.responses#sevchino#culture.talk#unrelated but i feel like raiden ei would commit worse war crimes for a bowl of ABC

omg yess a part 2 to "a thousand summers" would be amazing! I'd love to read something like fluff headcanon prompts of chinatsu and uppermoon!fem!Reader reincarnated in the modern world.
only if you have time, of course, like I said in my last request there's no rush, and your studies and health must come first.
Take care and stay hydrated!
A little quick something between lessons. I hope it's enough to give you all your fluff needs <3
A Thousand Dreams | Spider Mother
Word Count: 5504
Setting: modern spidermother x uppermoonfem!reader (Modern AU!)
Content Warning(s): hints of infertility, touched on a one night stand and a night of drinking, loss, step-mother/bonus mother/ adopted relationship
Summary: childhood friends, turned lovers, but are you ready to meet his daughter?
The gentle breeze pushed through your hair, teased the ends, and coiled it in the breeze. As if attempting to soothe your fraying nerves, and ease the clear grip of your hands. Twined wicker, delicately weaved threatening to snap in your fist as they trembled anxiously. Your eyes tracing the picnic set, the layered blankets you had added to the ground. Tempted to flutter beneath the blades of grass as the spring day brought forth so many opportunities. The gentle sunshade that filtered between the tree branches cast shade upon your shoulders. Delicate scent of familiar flowers, ones that you could not place. Soothing nostalgia as though whispered of a dream that threatened to slip through your fingers. Brought on small glimpses of memories, unfamiliar voices, and the smile of a child—silly, you had told yourself far too many times to count. The shatter of a broken heart, and solemn medical news so many years ago had guaranteed that no such dreams would ever come to pass. Yet, here you stood. Awkwardly tipping your heels anxiously, the small bit of your teeth against the flesh of your pouted lips. Willing back the anxiety that bore into your heart, no, no to think about that now would only make this harder.
Frilly blankets that touched between your fingertips soothed gently as you did your best to burry the anxiety of the days. Small sandwiches procured from a picnic basket. Teddy bear shaped, meticulously cut to rid of any crusts, delicate enough for emerging teeth to enjoy. Large enough to ensure the lack of fine motor skills wouldn’t bear any frustrations, small flower cut fruits, and carefully selected vegetables, far too much time spent at the grocery peeking at the mothers who passed you in the store. Delicately fried karaage tempting beneath the sunshine that trickled down from the trees, the flower petals of the strawberries as though they blossomed amongst the side dishes. Cucumbers sliced to resemble flowers, and apple bunnies that decorated plates. Small puddings, shaped as little bunnies that jiggled with the movement of your fingers. The sight of little goodies, small cakes, and little round cheeks that buried into their mother’s shoulders, large eyes that met your curious gaze as you snuck glances at their wares. All carefully curated, specifically picked. Yet, neither the security of the grocer’s gentle assurance, and the way the butcher had giggle as you bought sausages—you had been told that octopi sausages were a necessity of any child’s bento…
The click of the grocery basket at the bend of your elbow. The anxious way your finger slipped past packages. Nervously wandering the variety of goods—why were there so many types of cakes? Which one would a little girl like? The creeping sensation of overhwlemed by the many options at your selections having you consider whether melon was truly a popular flavor. One of your coworker’s sons had been so excited at its emergence. It must be popular, ah but wait, he’s a little boy. D-Do girls prefer cuter things. Eyes skipping to the little bunny pudding on a higher shelf. Half tempted to throw both options into the bag. Ah, n-no that would be just as bad, wouldn’t it? Too many sweets would make for a rotten tummy. B-But you could eat the one she didn’t like—ah, but you weren’t fond of this flavor. T-that’s childish, you could eat it… or hide it? The small hum of a small child, offbeat singing of roses and pockets as they skipped down the aisle, curiously wandering up to you. Glancing up at you if only for a moment before giving a big smile. Dimples that drew at the corner of their smile, not a moment of hesitation before drawing their desired snack from the selection and skipping back to their mother’s side… making light of your conundrum. So self-assured, and comfort in the way their hand tugged at their mothers, jolly singing praise of curry for dinner. The small touch of domestic life warmed from a far, a gentle sight that tugged at your heart, drawing your eyes back to your cart. The knot of anxiety between anxious fingers as young yourself grasping at the cake packaging. Distant memories, of tests and labs, the gentle press of your mother’s hand into your shoulder, as the results fell from your physician’s mouth. It had been years since you had been told, and yet as the time had passed, it was as though the wound was as fresh as ever. Festered and infected, feverish at the sight of someone else’s dreams passing you by. Unable to hide the way your lip trembled, and the tears threatened the corner of your eyes. Caught at your lashes with the crinkle of plastic, and scornful whispered.
“What am I doing?” you chided yourself. Shaking your head uneasily, cursing yourself with a sigh before numbly withdrawing pudding after cake, ingredient after ingredient. Wandering the aisles as you carefully refurnished the items back to their designated spots. Each culminated ingredient from the bend of your elbow, only bearing weight to your heart, and your features as you carefully placed it back on the shelf. The touch of tears tickling the end of your cheeks, turning your head from the families that passed you by as you stocked the shelves with your over enthusiasm, reality beginning to sink into the pit of your stomach… Y-You would send a sincere apology to your childhood friend Hiroto. Thank him for, for considering you after all these years, and the night you spent together. H-he would understand, surely. Yet, the excited smile upon his face when you had been reunited, how light he had appeared… Life in his features despite how sorrowful he had been at the grave site two years prior. Shyly rubbing the back of his head when you had inquired how he had been after it all, dinner together at your insistence, and when one drink led to another. Liquored kisses, and hushed whispers, of a childhood friends turned lovers if only for a night… or at least it was what you had intended. Far too aware of his situation, never wishing to muddy his duties more than life already had. Raising a child alone, and yet, and yet you had allowed yourself to think if for just a moment— “Stupid,” you whispered as the last dorayaki package left your fingertips and threatened to rob you of any shred of hope.
The grumble annoyance of an older woman tsking at your not-so-inner-dialogue drawing your attention over your shoulder. The high pinks of your cheeks, touched at shame to be caught in your state. Self-loathing, unaware of the way she had followed you from section to section. One or two items you had put back in her hands as she stared at you. The touch of age at the callous of her skin, the wear of sun damage at the highs of her cheeks, and the mole at her chin. Gray curls that met at her brow bone, the remainder secured in a bun with an old fashioned pin s she tilted her head at you with clear agitation. “You should be more confident,” her voice tinged with aged, coarse as though she had recently endured a cold as she pressed the reclaimed items into your cart, “Children are not so hard to please. They just want your time.”
“Oh—I’m not,” you whispered shamefully to your toes.
“Children like carrots,” she intercepted, “best to avoid peppers and mushrooms.” Callous hands that met at your shoulder as though pressing a curious amount of pressure that whispered reassurance as she lifted the burden from your arm. Practiced hands wandering the aisle as she divulged customer secrets, uttered common childhood delicacies, and grievances accumulated throughout the years. Guided your hands as you examined the strawberries curiously. The guide of her fingers as she explained ways to prepare it, though she swore that the fruit as it was far more than enough to meet any child’s expectations. Though your elder remained firm in the preparation of the apple as she added it to the cart. Only rabbits were acceptable, especially if you were caring for a smaller child. As though they were magical bunnies that gave the fruit superior taste.
The back-and-forth banter of the butcher, her husband as they debated what additions would add to the picnic. The older woman snapping her argument in the form of a scowl, shooing his offers of select cuts away. The obvious annoyance at the way he pressed his cause, “a bento is not a bento without a sausage octopus.”
“Children need nutrition,” the woman hissed back. Each side bringing forth valuable points, and considerations to consider. Warm laughter that carried a marriage through the years, touched upon love and affections in their debate. Utilizing faded memories, reassurance at the confirmation of your purchase.
They just want your time.
“YN?” As deep as the earth, and rich as the sum as it called your name. Bold in the light of day, informal and thick with significance. Your thoughts revealing your vulnerability as you turned to meet his gaze. The toss of brown hair that glistened a light shade of copper under the moonlight. Depend to depths of brown at the root of his hair, the bangs swept to the side, far more casual they had been in your youth. The depths of plum-kissed eyes that tended to a gentle kindle of a flame, dared to hold a hidden heat behind their gaze as he peered up you. The touch of his collar unbuttoned, relaxed today unlike the night you had run into one another; his smile all the same, gentle and warm as it caught at the corner of his smile, the joy of a childhood friend… far different than it had been. Whispered affections that no longer tucked into the secrecy of kindled flames, but rather a hearth that had merit. The pounding of your heart ringing in your ears, thrummed against your chest. Rattled your ribs, and formed a lump of a throat at the center of your throat. Dared to hush so much as a hint of shock, robbed you of your voice. Threatened tears to the corner of your eyes as ones that bore the weight of cherry plum trees met your own. Larger, and doll like as the brown eyelashes that blinked curiously. The tilt of her little head, and the round of her cheeks, as her maroon eyes threatened to drown you in memories. Whispered reminiscence of winter days snuggled under layers of blankets, mornings spent brushing a little girl’s hair into favored ponytails, and drew circles in the sand of a garden beneath her planted flower bushes. Memories foreign, yet familiar that claimed your heart, drew forth a sense of melancholy and unspoken longing, of days spent beneath azalea blooms, to pluck stray leaves from the tangles of her hair, to sooth the worries that formed at her brows as she drifted to sleep in your lap beneath the veranda. A life that had slipped through your fingers over a hundred years ago, brought to life with a toddler’s smile. The tremble of your voice, as your fingers threatened to thread through her hair just as you used to.
“C-Chinatsu.”
Modern Day Headcanons | Spider Mother
Chinatsu recognized you immediately, as though she had been waiting her whole life to reunite with you. As gentle as any child, peeked up at you through her bangs with the biggest smile before she shyly reached out for your face.
Traced at your features as though testing if this were yet another dream, and poked your cheeks, a face she had seen so many times in her dreams, now before her.
Told her daddy about you so many times— though it had never occurred to him that his childhood friend would be the imaginary friend his daughter spoke of.
Chinatsu is highly in touch with the emotions of others, and perhaps it’s because she’s an old soul. She’s quick to understand that her father has loved you for many years, and at times, it causes her a little frustration.
She has no memories of her mother, only of you, and at times, it’s a cause of tension in your relationship. Though she knows in her heart that it is not your fault—the gentle way you hold her reassure her.
Comfort the sobs a child who only wished to know their mother, you encourage her father to speak more openly of her mother, rather than allow his sorrows to burry the memories of her.
When the big move has been made, whether as marriage, commitment, or just living together, you make a point of raiding his photo albums. Aware that it may upset him, but make a point of displaying any pictures that exist of Chinatsu with her mother, and slips those of Hiroto and her together in her belongings.
she needs it.
Understand that there will be times that it will be difficult for Chinatsu, and the endurance of a stepmother, or bonus mother can be difficult, but I imagine, that all she would want is love.
Acceptance, and patience, (because we know for a fact Rui did NOT show her such graces).
Early years will consist of princess play, dancing amongst fairies, and heavily indulging in childhood fantasies. Danced along extravagant dresses, to little peasant dresses depending on what scenario she has decided to play for the day.
Just as you are eager to assist in her childhood play, Chinatsu is overjoyed the opportunity to assist in laundry. Even at the point of causing you a small touch of stress and anxiety as she struggles to drag the basket behind her, her folding a muddled mess as it always is for one so young.
A responsibility she will grow upon with time, and patience, happy to indulge in pretending to be a superhero with a spare blanket from the laundry and running throughout the garden.
These fantasies will only grow, and due to the added strain of her past life, I imagine that her adolescent years will be turbulent. One part of her feels as though she is grown, and capable of taking on the world—lord knows that she witnessed so much in her past life.
Yet, the other part of her, just wants the strict structure a parent would desire. So small bouts of rebellion may occur, but really, I think it would just be the place of ensuring that you love her as your own child.
Nothing quite as troubled as running away, but rather dyed hair, heavy makeup, and maybe her skirt higher than you would prefer.
All displays of her deep worries that perhaps some part of you has shifted from who you used to be in your past life, or that you yearn for more than what she is.
The deep fear that perhaps, you would prefer to have your own child with Hiroto, and she never has the confidence to ask. Nor have you ever given her any reason to feel this way—you bathed her, clothed her, read her bedtime stories.
Early mornings spent preparing her for school, and having never missed a single exhibition put on by her schools from her pre-k graduation to sports, plays, and school fairs, no minor how her involvement was.
Cheesy construction signs, screaming her name as she ran through the track relay… smiling and praising her despite the fact that she is not athletically inclined—the pride and joy of your life.
No, no you’ve never given her any reason to feel this way, but sometimes, it sneaks up on her. The nagging fear that perhaps you would throw her away, just as you had in your final moments. Only time will prove the depths of your loyalty.
and rid her of her insecurities.
Your home will be decorated with finger paintings, and little arts. I think she’s the type of child to pick flowers, and even weeds to give you. Eagerly waits for you when you return home from work. Happy to share details about her day.
A little flighty, and prone to forgetting her homework, any frustrations likely melted away by the round smile of her cheeks.
Would so be the child to have painted on the wall though she knows better and doesn’t hide it.
Pouts her cheeks, aware of the paint at her cheeks, wiggles her toes, and her eyes follow it before she reveals the paintbrush from behind your back, “I wanted to give you a pretty flower.”
You’d likely be requested to do her hair often, and not necessarily anything particularly challenging, or that she cannot do herself. She just enjoys having your attention for a moment as you brush back her hair, like you used to.
Spend time listening to her daydreams and marveling at the depths of her thinking.
Falls asleep at the entrance waiting you to come home from work, or the grocery stores. Just wants to greet you.
Pouts at times when you pay more attention to her dad, Hiroto than her. Puffs her cheeks out, and puffs her head to the side. It's petty, she knows, and that's why it never becomes a real issue.
Funny, due to her past life, I can't see her becoming actually jealous or angry at either of you progressing in a relationship, but literally just wanting to be included. all. the. time.
Her favorite thing to do is curl up under the kotetsu, her head pressed into your lap as you thread your fingers through her hair, and she watches her favorite cartoon.
like most children, turns her nose up to mushrooms.
in her last life. and this one.
plucks goma dango from the resting rack as soon as you pluck them from the fryer despite knowing it will burn her tongue. Just one more, sneaking under the table to secure her treat.
You're completely aware that there is no case of missing goma dango, and that her bright pink socks are peeking out from under the table.
Yet, the small smile on your lips as you drop another dango to rest, and turn back to the stove.
After all, what's one more?
She'll only forgive you if you give her the last slice of cake.
Adores going on grocery trips with you, and receiving an extra candy from the granny and grandpa who run the grocery store, and listening to them tease you as she drags your hand.
Quick to offer help in preparing dinner and loves helping make bentos for her father with you or making the messiest little bento for you to take with you to work with a hand drawn rainbow tucked into the rice.
Regularly sneaks into your bed, remembers the way that she used to tuck into your side in your past life, beneath layers of futons.
Understands that things are not as they were, and loves her father, but… just for tonight? Especially on moonlight nights.
I suspect that the biggest obstacle that you would have with her is that—she needs independence. Even if she doesn’t know it yet.
It’s natural that she wants to stick at her father, or your side, and she may even be resistant to this, but with gentle encouragement, she will get there.
It’s so important for her to build the confidence to stray on her own, always know that you are only a call, or text a way wherever she may wonder.
SPOILER: If we were to see her in the end of the book, where Sumihiko Kamado and Tojuro Rengoku are running late, we would see Chinatsu and you on the sidewalk, with a bag of groceries and leeks poking from the top, cheerfully holding hands and swinging them as you walk, discussing the delicious dinner you will make for Hiroto that night.
While reassuring Chinatsu, that of course you will make the rice in the shape of a flower.
Just for her.

my favorite way to prepare cauliflower is sauteed in a high-heat-friendly neutral oil (canola<3), with turmeric, black pepper, cumin, paprika, chile powder, a few drops of dark soy sauce and like 8 grains of dark brown sugar. it's so incredibly delicious on its own or as a side to basically anything, or throw some small white potato chunks and chickepas in the pan too and serve it as a main course
my favorite way to prepare napa cabbage and similar is to cut off the tips of the leaves, wash and lightly salt them, let them sit for the time it takes to make an instant pack of spicy kimchi ramen, drain the liquid from the cabbage, then pour the hot ramen broth over them (serve in the same bowl as the ramen!). the broth will cook it slightly without making it lose crunch, and it's light and refreshing to bite into it while you enjoy your noodles
my favorite way to prepare king oyster mushrooms is to cut them into strips (or just use seafood/enoki mushrooms whole instead), saute with butter, light and dark soy sauce, lime juice, and an eensy bit of hot sauce. when theyre cooked, serve them as the main flavor component in sushi or spring rolls, with carrot and/or cabbage and/or tofu and/or red bell pepper and/or salmon etc. delicious!!!!
my favorite way to prepare kale is to massage it (with a dash of rice vinegar if you want) until it becomes softer and slightly brighter green, then serve as the base of a salad with fried tofu or tempeh, steamed sweet potatoes, a scoop of cooked brown rice or farro, cucumber slices, and a thin peanut sauce
omg :’) this is so sweet, i am delighted. i am 100% trying these, ESPECIALLY king oyster in sushi, that sounds amazing. the tip about napa cabbage in ramen is excellent too. thank u so much for sharing with me 🥬💚🥬💞

大家好! Auntie and I haven't caught up for a very long time, so she, Pa and I met for lunch at a Japanese restaurant. I wanted to introduce her to the unagi tamago donburi here as it's sheer perfection. Pa also ordered unagi with cha soba. I wanted to order unagi too, but the butan ebi and hotate sashimi on vinegary red rice beckoned to me. I couldn't resist trying it. Customers can top up $5.80 to add chawan mushi, salmon sashimi, green tea, soup and a small salad, so I did. The seafood was SO fresh - the butan ebi and hotate were naturally sweet and paired extremely well with the vinegary red rice. Their chawan mushi was like silk and the salad with sesame dressing refreshing. The soup was a clear one without miso, so it wasn't too salty, which I liked. Auntie adored the unagi here. This meal was very delicious. Definitely will be back.
Mummy wanted to try the noodles at a little restaurant which specialises in it near our homes, so we visited the place. She ordered their char siew and preserved vegetables thick rice vermicelli and I had their pickled veggies and fish thick rice vermicelli. We shared a side of tree ear mushrooms with garlic and chilli. Mummy let me try a bit of her pork; it was very tender and delicious! The fish was similarly very tender and fresh, although I wasn't a fan of the pickled mustard greens (I don't like pickled anything). The crunchy tree ear mushrooms were crunchy and fragrant from plenty of garlic. Overall, good enough to warrant another visit.
It poured on Thursday afternoon when ML, CL, MI and I headed out for lunch. The stall which serves delicious red garoupa soup also sells zhu rou fen (pork noodles) so I ordered that since red meat helps us to keep warm during chilly weather. This bowl came with lean sliced pork blanched so perfectly, they were jiggly and tender, chunks of well-marinated minced pork, pork balls, lettuce and crazily slurpable kway teow (flat rice noodles) in a robust porky broth. OMG this blew me away, it was SO delicious! And it did warm me up because before lunch, I wore a sweater and had a jacket covering my legs in the office; after lunch I didn't need them.
youtube
ML missed out when we first visited the Japanese restaurant near our office offering terrific lunch deals whilst she was on vacation in Europe. Finally, we brought her there. This time, I tried their chirashi donburi. Like their kaisen donburi, my bowl was chockful of fresh seafood. Huge thick chunks of salmon, maguro, tai (sea bream), octopus, tamago and cucumber as well as a generous dollop of tobiko topped vinegary sushi rice. This is SO delicious, I can have it over and over again. We also shared a soft shell crab roll. Although the crab was crispy, I felt that there was too much mayo. ML adored her shio salmon with rice and shredded cabbage salad. She intends to revisit with us since the lunch deal was amazing value for our dollars.
The genocide in Gaza has entered its second year. Over 42,000 Palestinians have been killed and close to 100,000 wounded. My current part-time helper is Filipina after the one from Myanmar returned to her home country when her contract expired. We discussed what is going on in Gaza and she uttered a sentence that echoes how we feel in this region: 'There are no human rights.' We just don't believe in it any longer. 下次见!

Two Urban Licks in ATL
So tonight, I’m having dinner at Two Urban Licks. It’s a gorgeous June evening, a quarter to 8pm and I’m sitting at a familiar table. I recall sitting at this very table a few years ago, albeit in the center seat, on a date with a man I wouldn’t have minded marrying. I wasn’t necessarily seeking that particular destiny, but I would not have minded at all.
Anyway, the food is just as I remember. I started out with the Kentucky fried cauliflower. They are golden fried — they remind me of my godmommy’s codfish cakes by the way they look. Each one is coated in this honey glaze and there’s this bright cucumber relish sprinkled on top. They taste delicious, and there are a lot of them — I ate all but one. I had da munchies (said like Soulja Boy), sorry.
Service is always pleasant here. The host even recognized I was unable to decide between an inside or outside table, so he accommodated me! He agreed to seat me at the table outside, and if I didn’t like it, he agreed to move me — all his idea! He meant what he said, too. Two minutes after I sat down, he came to ask me if I liked the seat or wanted him to move me inside. I love that for me.
Back to the food: I ordered the scallops for dinner. Washing it down with something they call the Spring Fling; it’s got gin, rosemary, strawberry, elderflower, contratto apertif, simple syrup, citrus & soda.
The drink is fine, but I don’t particularly need it. I actually shouldn’t be having it at all, but the waiter was so good I just… I dropped all my defenses, y’all. I’m such a sucker for a good waiter and a well-written menu, I gave in so fast! It’s like I didn’t even try! Sometimes I just do it for the plot, you know? You never know where a cocktail might take you… even if you don’t drink it all!
Now, before I wrap this up I wanna say the scallops were bomb AF. They’re listed as Diver Scallops on the menu, and they’re buttery and sweet and plump and resting on a bed of corn, sliced peaches, juicy heirlooms, herbs — all of which are also resting on a corn jalapeño emulsion. The emulsion is simply a wonderfully flavored purée at the bottom of the plate. It’s corn-y, kinda jalapeño-y, and really freaking good. I’m not a huge tomato fan, but these heirlooms are juicy and the color is so rich I just had to try. The peaches added a pleasant touch that I was not expecting (omg, I love when that happens), and kinda cools down the jalapeño after-effects. It’s light and delicious. I give this entree a smooth 8.8/10.
Cute place along the belt line to pull up and enjoy. Take a walk afterward or hit up the brewery next door.
Bottom line:
Would I go back? Yes, I’ve already been here a few times and it’s always a vibe. Recommend you go, and try the salmon chips but don’t be afraid to get something else!
Were the drinks good? It was fine. I wasn’t really in the mood for a drink, and I have minimal recollection of what the drinks were like last time I went.
Food: 8.5/10
Drinks: 7/10
Vibes: 8/10
Service: 9.5/10
So here’s what I wanna know: when you have the choice at a restaurant, do y’all usually sit inside or outside?

"He was a punk, she did ballet" but its cynilou and reader is trying to choose between the two before ultimately becoming a sweet lil trio
Imagine tho,,,, like cyno wears anything that falls out of his closet, meanwhile nilou is wearing the strawberry dress and ribbon sandals, and reader being the most normal person in the middle where nilou helps them make up a cute outfit in the department store while cyno is...glaring menacingly at anyone who stares + offers his huge jacket when either of them are cold
He was a punk, she did ballet, they're a disaster
Fueling my Cynilou heart once again
I would love love love if the Reader is actually a fashion disaster instead hahaha or even just does not have a sense of fashion whatsoever, and so either Cyno or Nilou picks their outfit everytime when they started dating, or they just lend you their wardrobe because your clothes aren't matching at all. Nilou is also there to take care of your self-care needs, like charcoal nose strips and face masks, cucumber slices on the eyes. Your flawless queen won't let her lovers skip spa days, even tho at times it ends with you and Cyno throwing the slices at each other.
OMG what if on better days or during date days the trio forcibly matches like - remember Xiao's clothing line bane of all evil? Hell yeah, like that kind of matching. It's also cute that Cyno is the one looking out for them to the point that he makes sure to bring another article of clothing - like if its cold he has a jacket and a scarf on so that if the both of them are cold, they can take both. But then HE'S the one shivering so its up to his lovers to cuddle him tight.
Or if it's sunny, he has shades, a hat and an umbrella - gawd, imagine punk Cyno in all black and purple, piercings, a cold glare, and hanging by his elbow is a baby blue parasol with ribbons and lace. It's embarrassing, for sure, but it's for love.
If Tighnari or Alhaitham does see him and tease him for it tho - when you and Nilou come back, he's kneeling for forgiveness next to a broken umbrella.
#starfell#poly cynilou#exile.goblet#nilou x reader#cyno x reader#genshin impact x reader#i cannot believe you can get me to talk so much when it comes to cynilou#BUT ALSO THANKS FOR THE GOOD FUCKING FOOD#sumeru arc#at some point im gonna need to make a separate section just for my poly brainrots istg#exile.reader

Poor, Unfortunate Me:
Chapter 3
Summary: What if Ben didn’t fall in love with Mal? Find out the answer in Poor, Unfortunate Me. A story about the lesser known and evil second daughter of Ursula and how she gets the love she has been searching for her whole life.
A/N: I'm doing this off my phone so if the formatting is funky, it's because I'm not on my laptop. Also I didn't add a collage this time, and I might not in the future, because I think y'all understand the look I was going for and have a great imagination for these things.
Chapters: 1 / 2 / 3 (You're Here) / 4 (Coming Soon)
As soon as you got back to your dorm and Evan saw you crying, she asked what was wrong and tried to calm you down. You told her what happened while twisting the truth to protect the others. She just held you and told you everything would be better. To make you feel more relaxed, she broke out some hidden treats and some self spa tools, saying she was going to pamper you.
15 minutes into the mini spa, you already felt 100 times better.
“Thanks Evan. This is the first time I've ever done a spa.” you say with an avocado mask on your face, laying on your bed with Evan right next to you.
With the same avocado mask on her face and 2 cucumber slices on her eyes, Evan says, “I can't believe you’ve never done this before. Not even with your sister?”
You sit up and look at your lap, taking a moment before you answer her question.
“No, she can't stand me, because I'm too soft. Family is not the same on the Isle as it is here. Just cause we're related doesn't mean you have to love or care for each other. You got to look out for yourself.” Your voice is heavy with years of loneliness. When you don't hear anything from Evan but a sniffle, you look to the side to see what's wrong.
Evan, with her adorable self, has tears running down her face full of avocado while she sticks a cucumber in her mouth. She sits up and while chewing the cucumber slice, she says, “That's so sad! I'll be your new sister!” you don't want to laugh, but the scene in front of you makes it hard.
“Why are you laughing? I mean it. I want to be your sister!” She says with the other slice of cucumber in her mouth. It makes you laugh harder, which results in her pouting like a little child.
After a minute you finally calm down enough to talk to her. “I'm sorry. I've never seen something so funny,” she gives you a look, “And sweet. I want to be your sister too. Come here.” you open up your arms for a hug and she takes it.
When you guys pull apart from the hug you both look each other up and down then bust out laughing. During the hug, you guys got avocado all over each other. It was all on both of your clothes. “I trust that you won't freak out when I do this.” Before she can question what you mean, you say a little spell, flick your wrist, and all the avocado is gone.
“OMG, you have magic!?” she excitedly said. You nodded ‘yes’, which resulted in a squeal from her. Her excitement was infectious and made you giddy too.
The rest of the night you guys played around with magic, until you guys fell asleep. But during your good time, the others were making a love potion cookies among other things.
After Lonnie left the kitchen, Mal put the cookies in the oven. In the silence of the kitchen the tension between the group was almost palpable, but Carlos soon broke it.
“Mal, what you said back there to Y/N was very uncalled for. Just because you and her sister have beef doesn't mean you can take it out on her.” Evie and Jay nodded to what Carlos said.
Mal is trying to hold her ground by staring Carlos down, but the guilt is too much. She huffs defeated and looks to her feet. “I know! I know… It’s just we have a mission to complete and if we don't,” she pauses looking up at the others equally frightened faces, then continues, “I don't want to think about if we don't.” The air is heavy with emotions.
The same thoughts all go through their minds in the silence of the room. They all started liking Auradon, but they wouldn’t say it out loud to each other. Here they could do and be whoever and whatever they wanted to be without worry of judgment or consequences. But when they thought about it they don't belong here. They had to remind themselves they were evil and belong to the Isle. Though, in reality, none of that was true.
They had been so lost in their thoughts, that when the timer broke the deafening silence, they all collectively jumped in surprise. They all shared a look before they all walked over to see how the cookies came out.
Mal takes out the cookies and places them on the prep table. “I think these are ready. So do we all know what the plan is for tomorrow?” They all nodded in unison.
After cleaning up, they make their way back to their dorm rooms. Jay and Carlos get to their room first, which leaves Evie and Mal to still get back to their room. When they finally get back, Evie stops Mal before she enters the room.
“You are going to apologize to Y/N, right? Just because we are evil doesn't mean we don't have manners.” Evie can understand where Y/N is coming from and hopefully Mal can too.
“Yeah, Yeah. Only so we can make her our ally again.” Evie knew Mal was actually doing it because Isle kids stick together, but if it helped Mal sleep at night she wasn't going to say anything.
When morning rolled around you felt like something good was going to happen, but it was going to have bad consequences. Letting that thought linger in the back of your mind, you thought about how first period would go after what went down. At least you knew that if Mal came after you again, Evan was coming after her. Yup, reassuring.
Evan was nice enough to walk you to your first period class, since you usually went with the others. When you got there, everyone looked at you, with sorry written all over their faces. Evie put her hand on Mal's shoulder, which prompted Mal to get out of her seat and walk over to you.
When she was finally standing in front of you, Evan stepped forward eyeing up Mal like she wasn't Maleficent’s daughter. “If you hurt my sister,” she points her thumb over her shoulder at you, “I’ll hurt you.” Your surprised by the protective nature of Evan, but let her do her thing.
Mal’s surprised too, but also impressed, so she tells Evan she understands. With that Evan hugs you goodbye and walks to her class. Once Mal has you alone, she says something you'd never expect from her. An apology.
“I want to say sorry about yesterday. What I said was not cool. Can you forgive me?” she asks, looking at you expectantly.
“Water under the bridge. Now let's get to learning.” She smirks at you, and you guys walk to your seats.
During break the group tells you about the love potion plan and you agree to help as much as possible. It hurts you to help destroy any and all chances of getting Ben, but you still feel obligated to help them and something is telling you to do so too. They tell you the plan is going to happen after school at Mal’s locker, so you just wait till then.
When the bell rings ending school, you shoot up out of your seat and run out of class since Mal’s locker is on the other side of school. This causes Evan to follow you, though. You guys always walk from 5th period back to your dorm, so she thought something had to be wrong
By running, you made it just in time. Ben had just taken a bite out of the cookie, when something roughly bumps into you, sending you into Ben’s arms.
Ben is looking down into your eyes and is holding you against his body to keep you from falling.
“Y/N, are you okay?” You nodded too speechless and dazed to verbally answer. The next thing Ben ask you truly knocks you out more than the mystery object that got you the first time.
“But did it hurt?” his slight pause gives you a chance to be confused, then he finishes. “When you fell from heaven?” At that cheesy pick-up line, everyone's jaw dropped, especially yours. You honestly couldn't believe your ears.
“Ben, Are you okay?” You ask ,being able to finally stand on your own legs, but Ben still has his arms wrapped around your thick waist.
“I'm fine, but not as fine as you, sweet thang.” he says with a love struck smile on his face which you promptly covered with your hands so he would stop flirting.
“Jay can you pull him off me, please?” Jay comes to your rescue and gently pries him off of you. Once Jay has him, he asks Ben, “Has your world been worked?”
The answer to Jay's question comes in the form of a song lyric. Looking you in the eyes, Ben sings, “You know you do.” (quoting one of Michael Jackson’s songs). At that you become flustered and turn around, not wanting to drag out your embarrassment.
When you turn around to see what pushed you into Ben, you see Evan.“Evan, what are you doing here?” she opened her mouth to answer, but you interrupted her. “Wait, were you the reason I fell into Ben?” When you said that, she became a little sheepish as she answered.
“Yes,” she whispered, “But I was only running in behind you to see if you were Ok because you left class so suddenly...sorry.” Hearing her explanation only made you smile. You could never be mad at her.
“There's no need to be sorry. You were concerned about me and I appreciate that you care enough to check up on me.” With that said you hugged her. During your talk with Evan, the boys left to get ready for their game.
Once you pull out of your hug, you look towards Mal and Evie and see they both have an urgent look on their faces. “Uh, you want to go to the field and save us some seats in the bleachers?” you ask Evan nervously. She nods ‘yes’ and runs off to the game.
“What was that?!” Mal asked incredulously.
“I’m so sorry guys. It was an accident. I tripped,” you said apologetically, “But you can fix this right?”
“No, there is no time. You’ll just have to become his girlfriend.” She said nonchalantly.
“Wait, what?!” your jaw was practically hitting the floor.
You guess this was the good thing that you felt coming, but unfortunately you knew it was going to end badly.

the rina headcanons are endless!! it would be verrrryyy cute if we ever got rina baking together. it is very necessary to see them having a flour fight and having a frost-off to see who can ice the GF cupcakes better (my money is on Ms. Porter those turkey cupcakes looked expert level). we also deserve to see ricky teaching gina how to skateboard in this summer montage bc imagine him holding her by the waist gently while she holds his shoulders and her knees are kinda locked bc she’s nervous and is completely padded up…yeah i like to suffer with these thoughts.
also random but i would loveee a proper halloween episode bc we absolutely NEED to see rina in a haunted house bc yes gina would be protecting ricky. hes so malewife i cant 😭. one of these days i may have to slip out of anon mode and dump all my ideas on you privately haha but hiii it is me bday anon 🧁!
the expo gave us SO much i can’t even process what all this means for s4 but seeing the chemistry between sof and josh as rina is so heartwarming they work so well together i already know rina are going to be the most annoyingly cute couple when they finally get together. can you say ‘IT couple!’ and im totally projecting here bc i always wanted to do this but all the guys i ever dated were losers but i would d-word for a scene where rina are doing face masks together!! idk something about that is so sweet to me, especially if its gina smearing clay mask on for him and ricky being totally into it. (!!!) and since josh likes to paint his nails, it would be a cute nod to that if gina ever polished ricky’s nails. like imagine him with the cucumber slices over his eyes ike a diva while gina is giggling as she paints his nails in some pastel color. very bestie-turned-boyfriend energy! <33
BDAY ANON I MISSED YOU!!! Thank you for always showing up with a little cupcake 🥹
Ok but for real how did she frost those turkeys that well?? I’m literally a decade older than her and I do be struggling making anything meaningful in my kitchen lmao (and I eat mostly gluten free too so I just KNOW those were not easy to make). Also, completely unnecessary side note, Sofia is gluten free so they added that in as a call out to her IRL. They didn’t need to specify the cupcakes were GF so I thought that was a cute little shout out :)
And OMG I am like 90% sure I saw someone do a fan art of her standing on his skateboard and holding onto him 😭 (I can’t remember if they were kissing in it or not but how CUTE would that be, especially with their height difference!)
AND THE HALLOWEEN ONE IS SO GOOD. Like imagine him just quaking and crying and she has to lead him through, but then she gets a little scared sometimes and they call each other chicken again 😭 where I live (not sure if other places are like this) every one of our haunted houses end with someone chasing you through with a chain saw (no chain) 😂 it is the most traumatic and funny thing and the amount of screaming and panicking that happen in the end is so funny. I know it’s to get people to get out of the haunted house quickly but BOY is it funny. I would d*e if I saw them both run out in absolute fear from the ✨fake✨ chainsaw man
We were FED at D23. There was NO REASON for them to add the triangle to the choreo in their performance outside of fan service and you want to know what? I ate it up EVERY time I watched! And I’ll do it again!!
And trust me I totally get that!!! I 100% live vicariously through my rom coms and books so I don’t blame you 😂 (sorry you dated jerks though- I hope you find your own rina type love story some day 🥲)
And that is SO cute and we absolutely know ricky would do it. He would probably be the one who keeps bugging gina to go shopping for the supplies, asking her a million questions about the spa night, and would proudly brag and wear his colored nails. TBH it reminds me so much of Jim and Pam. Like we KNOW Jim would literally wear the dumbest outfit or do something that makes him look silly if Pam asked. And Ricky just RADIATES Jim energy. I’m so obsessed with these ships like I’m down BAD!!!

ʚɞ notes/diary entry:
today was a bit all over the place. i started pretty strong at lunch and restricted myself well and then went shopping for a few low cal food options which i ended up eating for dinner. i had initially planned to get some shrimp nigiri for my tea as its pretty low in calories and very filling but despite the excess travel i did to get there unfortunately they only took cash and i didn’t have any on hand.
this kinda sent my mind into a frenzy and it felt like my plan was falling to pieces. i was really tempted to go walk down to the shops and get a bunch of sweets and chocolate to just binge on but i managed to control myself and just walked out with a pint of 90kcal per 100ml ice cream which i’ll eat over maybe a month or two.
i literally was shocked by how quickly i snapped, and tbh this one thing i had planning kinda ruined my entire night and now i feel really shitty about what i ate.
so in the end i just had a platter of some of the things i bought today. to be honest it was super filling despite such a low calorie count but the fact that most of the measurements are rough estimates i feel really unsatisfied and upset, even tho the calorie margin is probably only in the single digits. also just the fact that i ate SO much and in such wide variety has kinda scared me and made me question whether what I’ve eaten is truly as low cal as I’ve calculated.
in part i am glad with regards to how much walking i got to do as a result of attempting to get the nigiri for my dinner however i know i’d feel a lot more satisfied with just having had that.
i’m also so annoyed about the jacobs cream crackers that i ate! :( the laughing cow cheese that i bought honestly isn’t that nice and so to counter the taste i just ate three of the crackers with them and some cucumber. the crackers are so high in calories i’m just gonna get rid of them so i don’t feel tempted to eat them. because if i hadn’t eaten them I’d literally be down to 38kcal for the day! that was my absolute biggest regret today :(
but omg those mini light babybels are SO good!
i’ve decided i’m gonna have a rest day in terms of work outs since today has been my lowest calorie intake and my highest steps all week. i’m gonna continue to work out for the rest of the week of course :)
i’m trying to tell myself i’m really proud of my low calorie intake today despite but my stupid brain keeps telling me i ate WAY too much today because i genuinely feel like i have :((

Yus, if you're taking a break, please bloody go ahead and get the sleep you're missing. Because I have so much to do rn and I feel buried under all the work, so I know what its like to have no break and work or write every single day to reach deadlines.
I want you to close the system, pick up a good book to read (and if you dont read, then really, anything to relax) and go lay down. Seriously, I would come over there and place those cucumber slices over your eyes but I'm pretty far away so- sorry 🥺
Love you, and please take a break if you feel like you need it. It helps you think so much more clearer, yeah? Love you.
(not me subconsciously noticing the slight british slang in everything i write or say why T-T)
star 🥺🥺 man cucumber slices sound so good 🫣 but stop you’re so sweet !! 😭 but also i hope you take a break yourself 😠 love you too & omg you’re british ?? for that i will squish your cheeks bc i find british accents so cute and hot 🫣

Lmao hi 👋
Literally for once enjoying my hormones 🙃
I've been on a 4 day long binge of txt, stray kids, nct, the boyz, and ateez hard hours 🥵
Anywhooo how are you my lovely? 🥰🥰🥰
I've literally been so excited because my grocers finally had STRAWBERRIES. Like they sell them often, but they've been out of stock by the time I go :'(
So for the past two days I've had sliced Italian bread with strawberry jam topped with strawberry slices 😋 its SO GOOD 10/10
I've also made those Lil cucumber finger sandwiches. Truly living out my picnic dreams.
Back to the hornie -> Okay what is the hottest fantasy you've had this week? What about it made it seem so enticing? Pls spare no detail 🙏 Also, are you the type that enjoys the idea of lingerie/dressing up for the smecksy time, or the type that sees it as completely unappealing?
Alright I've made this long enough. I'll come back once you've answered lmao 🤣 I'm sure I'll still be whoreknee then 🤪
🌺
hii cassie!! ❣️
bestie we legit stan the same group i can't 💀 i've also been stuck on hard hours for some members of a few of those groups 😵💫😵💫
oof the hottest fantasy of the week?? being loved 😮💨😮💨
LMFAO IM JOKING (it's actually being squeezed between yunho and juyeon with their large hands caressing my body and choking me, with maybe, just maybe, chan or jeno watching us but that's just a thought 😶🌫️😶🌫️🙃) i just want them to whisper dirty things in my ear while kissing every single inch of skin, focusing on my neck and sweet spots while rearranging my insides </3 uh god, just feeling their tall bodies against mine, even if im not that petite,,, it just feels comforting and makes me safe (damn my daddy issues are acting up and i need a cock in my mouth asap💀)
im trying to be okay, it's not easy those days, but the music and the sun make it a slight bit more bearable 🥲 wbu?? 💝✨
i LOVE picnic and strawberries, i can't wait to eat some again!! 🤩🤩 my mom bought some a few weeks ago but they didn't taste good, they were probably treated with pesticides 🤕 (im not gonna lie, a picnic in a field is my ideal date 🥺)
i don't think i have a pretty enough body for lingerie, but omg, i'd love to rock it and watch their eyes grow with lust as they look at me up and down.. their hands groping the lingerie, feeling the fabric and whispering "you look so fucking sexy in silk/lace/satin"... sjfghkfjdhg
🙂🙂 when is it my turn

Any tips on how to accept your body and your weight?
I’ve been trying to loose weight since forever and it’s hard and I want to keep going but not make it my priority and not let it really affect me but it’s hard.
I don’t really have tips for how to feel comfortable in your own body because that’s something per individual :/ But I have some tips for helping you reach your goals!
First, being in a caloric deficit and consistency are the only two things you need for fat loss. The issue that most people have — myself included — is consistency. You have to find something you can sustain for the rest of your life, because once you lose the weight you have to be able to keep it off so it’s not like you lose it and then can eat whatever you want. You’ll end up just gaining it all back, especially if you’re someone like me who has an unhealthy relationship with food and struggle with binging. So these diets like weight watchers, Atkins, Jenny Craig, or even things like keto or a low carb diet don’t really work because they’re not sustainable. You lose it at first and then you gain it back. And so you blame yourself thinking “Oh I just didn’t do it well enough and need to get back at it again” when in reality the programs aren’t meant to last forever. That’s how they get you to go back to it. They make you think it worked because you lost some weight for a bit and so you repeatedly buy their products. These diets are only useful as tools. They only help if you understand why you’re losing weight on them.
So you have to find something that works for you! If you tried something and lost weight but you weren’t able to keep it off and ended up gaining it back, then it’s not something that worked for you. As Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” Try something different! I’m still trying to find the thing that works for me, 12 years of losing weight and gaining some back repeatedly.
Right now I’m trying to eat lower calorie foods that will fill me up, and that taste really good. For example, these are the kinds of meals I’m eating now:
Brownies: 280 calories for the whole plate (cocoa powder, chocolate protein powder, flour, baking powder, pinch of salt, Diet Coke, Lily’s white chocolate chips, topped with crushed reduced fat graham crackers)
Cheeseburger crunch wrap with salad: 430 calories for the meal (whole Joseph’s lavash bread, beyond meat crumbles [can use lean ground beef], onions, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, reduced fat shredded cheese) and for the salad (cucumber, tomatoes, green onions, spinach, 0 calorie honey mustard)
Anabolic chocolate ice cream: 365 calories for the bowl (cocoa powder, PEScience chocolate cupcake protein powder, xanthan gum, topped with sugar free chocolate sauce and a fiber one brownie bar)
Breakfast burrito: 380 calories (whole Joesph’s lavash bread, 1 egg, 3 servings of egg whites, beyond meat crumbles, sugar free maple syrup for some sweetness — or can use salsa)
Egg grilled cheese sandwiches: 320 calories (4 slices Lewis 35 calories white bread, 4 servings egg whites, reduced fat shredded cheese — sometimes I’ll add some Simple Truth vegetarian deli ham slices for an extra 70 calories to add protein)
French toast with eggs and fruit: 430 calories for the whole meal — I usually have 4 pieces of French toast so that’s what the 430 calories is including. The French toast is 4 slices of 35 calorie Lewis bread dipped in a mixture of egg whites, cinnamon, Stevia, half capful of vanilla and cooked on pan with a bit of cooking spray. The eggs is 1 egg with 1 serving of egg whites and veggies. And I use sugar free maple syrup and just eat as much of that as I want because it’s only 5 calories for 2 tbsp.
Shepherds Pie: 285 calories for the bow full, 1/4 of the dish. (Mashed cauliflower — which is a head of cauliflower, one potato, few spoonfuls of Greek yogurt, and spices blended together; Gardein crumbles, frozen veggie mix, vegetable stock)
Nachos: 400 calories (2 whole Joseph’s lavash breads cut up and baked in oven to make chips, reduced fat shredded cheese, onions, salsa)
These are just a few examples. But notice how much food you get for low calories — that’s what you want! I’ve been trying this for the past month and have lost about 10lbs so far. I’m not sure if this is THE thing for me yet, but so far it’s incredibly easy to stick with because everything tastes so good! And it doesn’t feel like a diet or anything. The foods don’t taste like a 10/10 like the highly paletteable foods that are full of sugar and fat, but these are more like an 8/10 or sometimes even 9/10, and that’s worth it to me for being able to stay in a good caloric deficit. So if this is something you think might work for you, then definitely try it out! Read food labels and WEIGH your food! Even you’re bread — you’d be surprised.
On Saturdays I allow myself a “cheat” meal. We usually do something active like a bike ride and I’ll eat what I want afterwards. Right now I’m eating pizza 😂 But I’m going to be trying a low calorie chocolate chip cookie recipe for dessert tonight so I’m not going too crazy! The important thing is I can definitely see myself eating this for the rest of my life because I don’t feel deprived, everything tastes good, and I’m not constantly thinking about fast food because this food honestly helps those cravings as you can imagine.
So, just try to find something that works for you, that you can do for the rest of your life! Something is out there, I promise. Take your time with it. Trust the process, don’t rush it. Don’t try to lose weight fast because omg that’ll most likely cause you to gain it back because you’re under eating and will eventually want to give up and eat everything high in calories lol. Also, DON’T WEIGH YOURSELF EVERY DAY. I’d say once a week at most. But the scale isn’t that great of a tool because weight constantly fluctuates. Use your clothes and measurements to track progress, plus pics! Otherwise, you’ll get easily discouraged thinking you’re gaining fat when reality you’re probably losing fat but retaining water and gaining some muscle so the number went up.
This was a lot, but I’m so passionate about it and love helping people as much as I can with it, because I was really heavy a while back and know what it’s like to try to lose fat. So I really hope this helps ❤️ Feel free to DM me anytime if you want some more tips or recipes!
