I just finished an incredibly dark and smutty original fiction novel on ao3 and I am not the same.
it's gorgeous. I want it on my bookshelf. why can't i find this in published romance.

And that's not even considering that AO3 is possibly one of the most mobile friendly websites I have ever been on. Everything is fully accessable; I've done everything from reading fic to posting fic to editing fic/my profile to replying to comments from my phone.
There's no janky formatting that makes reading a 200k+ novel more trouble that it's worth.
You can save something to read later with a click of a button, or you can download it to your preferred reading app in a couple of easy steps.
AO3 doesn't have an app because it doesn't need an app. It's been designed to work in a way that an app would probably just get in the way of, IMHO.
Does Ao3 have a official app? Something to make reading easier while on mobile.

There is no official app and there likely never will be. If you’d like to know my thoughts on why, I’d be happy to share, but that’s not what you’re asking.
There is an unofficial app I’ve heard good things about, though: Archive Track Reader. It was created by an AO3 user and lover of fanfic.
