Background summary: After losing a bus full of kids to a horrible accident, Buttercup's having a crisis of self. She's not the hero she once thought she'd be, but when she finds Butch half dead in a ditch, she thinks maybe if she can just do this one thing, save this one person, she can prove to herself she's a hero after all. In a way, they end up saving each other. Again. And again. And again.

Buttercup poured over the tax forms before looking up at him with a deep sigh, "I literally don't know what I'm doing. Why don't they teach us this shit in school!" She grabbed a random form and shook it at him, "Do you get any of this?"

He shook his head as he continued to shovel spoon full after spoon full of cereal into his mouth. After swallowing, he said, "The only thing I know about taxes is how to evade it, but Bryan Davis—" he smirked, referring to his alter ego, "—is of the straight and narrow variety, so that's off the table."

"Har. Har." She rolled her eyes, turning back to the tax documents, "I think I'll just call my dad. He's good with numbers. Or maybe, uh, turbo tax? We can't afford an accountant."

At the mere mention of money (and, thus, by extension, their late bills), Butch looked at the time and jumped up with a hiss, "Shit, I'm late!"

"How late are you going to be tonight?" She asked him, watching as he rinsed out his cereal bowl and shoved on his work boots. "We've got to figure this tax stuff out."

"I don't know. They got me doing a job out in the counties for the next few weeks. Traffic's going to be hell. And then there's gas going up, and—"

"Butch, we have to figure this shit out at one point, for real. Tonight." She glared at him, "We can't keep putting it off."

"If I could fly home right after, Buttercup, I would," He huffed back, throwing his lunch together, "but Bryan Davis can't fly, remember? He sits in traffic."

She tsked, "He never fails to remind me, but could you please remind Bryan Davis he also has to fill out a Form 1040? Because if he doesn't, the IRS is on our ass, and they're worse than Blossom."

"And why can't Brittany Davis just do it for the both of them? Don't married people get to do shit like that?"

"Yeah, sure, if Brittany Davis was a real person and not actually Buttercup Utonium, who is not actually married to Bryan Davis." She deadpanned, shuffling a pile of papers together. "Just when you get home, we gotta do this, okay? And I'm not getting suckered into doing it by myself again."

"Yeah, yeah," He rolled his eyes, opening the door and then pausing across the threshold.

"Have a good day," She said over her shoulder, attention more on the tax documents than on him.

Butch stared at the back of her head with a smile. Her bedhead was horrible, and she wore an oversized, stained shirt; it made him think of his last girlfriend, who had been just as strung out as he had been. His last girlfriend, whatever her name was, he really only just remembered her being there, hadn't given two shits about taxes or when he'd be home. Outside of Boomer and maybe Brick, he couldn't think of anyone else who had.

It was nice.

Being with Buttercup was nice. Homey. He liked homey, and despite living together for a while now, he hadn't realized how much he liked it until now, watching her balance her cereal bowl over their pile of taxes.

"Hey," She snapped at him, turning in her chair to glare, "shut the door, will you? You're letting all the air conditioning out."

His smile stretched further across his face, "What if Buttercup Utonium really was married to Bryan Davis? Would we be able to file together then?"

One of her eyebrows quirked up in question, "Well, yeah, I guess? Probably get more on our return, too."

"Then, why not?"

He let the door fall shut behind him as he stepped back into the room. "Why not get married, then?"

I can't stop thinking about an AU I created a good while ago where, a while after escaping with Color, Killer joins a theater group in the Omega Timeline. Color goes over to keep him company and keep him stable at the start, but, eventually, buddy's okay there by himself.

Anyway, I remember that the group consisted of a few different characters from various different universes (there was an Asgore, a Mettaton, an Undyne, a Flowey, a Gaster, and a Chara in there) and they were all people who desperately needed a community because they left things on not so friendly terms with their universes.

And now I can't stop thinking about Killer bonding with this new Chara. He was wary of them at the start, and they were most of the reason why Color needed to stay. It didn't help that this Chara has quite a bit of blood on their hands and Killer can see it since he can see all their stats.

On their part, Chara also didn't trust Killer at first, and that's because he reeks of Player influence. See, Chara did their best to stop the player. They're a bit of a glitch, once they've amassed enough determination, they can take over someone's body. Usually, they took over their Sans to make his fight more unpredictable, but they also took over Asgore, Mettaton, Undyne, and Flowey before. The only one they cannot control is Frisk because the Player's determination is always stronger than theirs. (Honestly, I should nickname them Hopper for the amount of body hopping they do...)

They both do their best to ignore each other at the start, but in such a small crew, it's really not easy. Gaster, who is directing this whole thing, also doesn't make it easy for them, as he starts pairing them up for improv exercises after a while, which turns out being both a curse and a blessing, because they do end up getting along (once they get talking it doesn't take long for them to figure out that they're messed up in very similar ways), but they're also both little chaotic menaces with quite a bit of trauma.

For Killer, it definitely helps that Hopper is older than his Chara to start separating them in his mind. And for Hopper it helps to learn that Killer's Player is well and truly gone and they won't have to be forced to fight again.

I like to think that, after a while, it comes out that Hopper has been living by themselves. Killer doesn't feel parental toward them, I don't think he'd ever be capable of that, but he does start feeling like an older brother. So it goes without saying that he begs Color to let Hopper stay with them that same day when he goes to pick him up. Color, ever the softie, especially when kids are involved, agrees (Delta now has two knife-wielding menaces to worry about when he visits his bestie. Someone help that poor man).

Also, one cool thing about these two is that Hopper absorbs determination from their surroundings constantly as that is both what keeps them corporeal as well as their only defense mechanism in case they're attacked (they have no magic of their own at all, the only way for them to fight is possess other people). Meaning that Killer struggles less with the effects of excess determination when he's around them because they consume that. It's a nice deal for both of them.

Also, thinking of Hopper talking and bonding with Color's human souls and Beta because they can see them all and interact with them as they are still a dead child at the end of the day. Semi-corporeal body or not.

Are there any silly or interesting Itachi/Sasuke/other character headcanons you've always wanted to share?

Some of these will be Modern-AUish, some canon compliant, and some Akatsuki AU.

Whenever Sasuke sees something that's interesting to (only) him as a child he rushes to Itachi to share it. Itachi is his go-to person whenever he wants to share something. Itachi sometimes lets Sasuke's excitement slide because he's too busy/too tired, and little Sasuke is infuriated. He expresses his fury in form of stomping his feet, walking around the house with a pout. He keeps yelling in front of Itachi's room that no one loves him and genuinely looks sad. No one understands why Sasuke is acting so weird until Itachi picks on it and gives Sasuke some treat. It's super easy to please him.

Itachi is a bad cook. Sasuke is even worse. That's why whenever their parents aren't home, Itachi cooks and Sasuke waits instead of helping him. One time when Sasuke "helped", it almost invited disaster. Itachi swore to never let Sasuke in since then. Sasuke is super salty because what he did at 12 shouldn't be held against him, right? Itachi won't listen. Their parents have no idea about it. So, whenever Itachi cooks something in his millionth attempt, certain that he made the dish perfect, Sasuke always shoots him down with "I've had better". Though later at night he sneaks into the kitchen to finish the rest, because why not.

Sasuke likes to hang out with Madara, but he's always been scared of the old man. Sasuke says he looks good only when he's not speaking or smiling. He always hides behind Itachi whenever Madara is visiting them. Itachi often uses it against Sasuke when he won't let him finish his work. "Go to sleep, Sasuke, or Madara uncle will come." It's an inside joke and Madara is definitely not pleased because he loves kids. He doesn't want to be the bad guy in Sasuke's eyes.

Both the brothers love to go on long cycle rides, especially in summers.

Naruto and Sasuke have a lot of sleepovers. Whenever Sasuke has to go to Naruto's house, Itachi drops him there. And when Naruto has to come to Sasuke's house, they want Itachi to tell them horror stories. Not overly keen on scaring them both, he tries to evade, but Naruto wouldn't listen. To set the mood, all the lights are kept off, and as soon as Itachi starts, Naruto hides himself in covers, and Sasuke rolls his eyes. Although later at night neither Naruto nor Sasuke want to go out alone to pee. Sasuke is just as scared as Naruto. He just doesn't want to show.

Minato and Kushina love both the brothers. Because of them their families are super close as well. Occasionally, Minato would take all the three kids to some other city/fun place, and come home super exhausted, because Naruto and Sasuke are a menace.

When they're kids, and Mikoto and Fugaku have to leave for a few hours, Kakashi and Yamato have to babysit them. Kakashi hates it because he'd rather be reading his books, but Yamato loves spending time with them. He loves to spoil both the kids. Sasuke just ends up pulling Yamato's hair and also tries to pull Kakashi's mask. But he can't.

Itachi has a Danzo plushie, decorated with red marks and is beaten down badly as if Itachi likes to punch it every time he's mad. Mikoto is horrified because since when her sweet child become this violent. Fugaku gives Itachi a treat when he learns this. Sasuke just likes to pull Danzo plushie's ears because they're fun to him.

Sasuke hates Shisui and Izumi at home. They steal the time he can spend with his nii-san. But when Itachi is not home, Shisui takes Sasuke with him and they train and Shisui deliberately loses his matches. Sasuke tells everything to Itachi with glee that he defeated Shisui when they trained together. Sasuke grudgingly admits to himself only that he likes spending time with Shisui too, but he won't ever feed Shisui's ego, because his nii-san is still the best.

Kisame is another person Sasuke is scared of. But he gets to like him. If anything, if ever Sasuke is mad at his brother, Kisame sides with Sasuke, and tells his brother how terrible of a big brother Itachi is. One day, Sasuke spent exactly 30 minutes complaining about Itachi to Kisame. And obviously, Kisame lectured Itachi that evening.

Being Itachi's little brother, Sasuke is the unofficial member of the Akatsuki. He has his own tiny Akatsuki robe. He doesn't understand why he doesn't get "dangerous" missions like his brother does. They tell him he's the most important person in the Akatsuki, so he must get special treatment. They keep all the gory shit out of his knowledge.

Sasuke really, really dislikes Kakuzu. He also finds Hidan weird. He wants to protect his brother from Deidara because Deidara just seems like he's obsessed with his brother. Itachi must be protected from him.

The people Sasuke loves in the Akatsuki after his brother are Konan and Sasori. Sasori makes puppets/toys for him (without all the blood and stuff) and gifts them to Sasuke. Konan is like a mom to him. In Itachi's absence she takes care of Sasuke.

As long as you could remember you and Seungcheol have been attached to the hip. Even though he was a year older than you, you couldn’t remember the last time you spent a day without him. Every time one of his friends asked him if he had feelings for you, he would simply answer no; and that you were like a younger sister to him. 

That first year was lonely for him, he didn’t really know anyone and all his classes kept him away from socializing. The only thing that seemed to have stayed constant was you. You face-timed him at least once a week before he went to bed, never forgetting to remind him how much you missed him, and how much you cared for him. In the simplest words, you were his rock for that first year. 

Seungcheol was never warned about how lonely and jarring your first year could be. The change in place, people, and most importantly the change in the fact that you weren’t there experiencing it beside him. He was never one to believe clichè sayings, but he finally understood what the saying “distance makes the heart grow fonder” really felt like. He had gotten so overwhelmed from the loneliness he even began to write you letters, ones he would never actually send out, as cheesy as it sounds. But knowing that he was addressing them to you brought him some type of solace in that first year.

 A year later you came to study at the same university, and he was elated, to say the least. Finally, he had thought to himself. The one person he hadn’t been able to see, smell, or touch for a year was finally going to be in his proximity. 

Unlike Cheol, you were only able to go to this school through bursaries and scholarships, your parents simply just couldn’t afford to send you to school in a different city otherwise. It reminded you how lucky Seungcheol was to receive support from his parents, getting and going to school was nothing he had to ever think twice about. You knew you could’ve stayed with your family, and gone to school closer to your house, but with Cheol away, it just wasn’t the same. Nothing had felt the same since he left. But this didn’t matter to you the moment you felt his arms wrap around you again. 

You stood there in the airport all alone, eyes searching for a head of freshly dyed blond hair. The moment you heard his voice call your name, you knew you were finally home. 

“Y/n!” An excited, deep voice calls out for you. 

You whip your head around to see him. The man you hadn’t seen in so long, the man you were so desperately in love with. Your best friend. 

“Cheol!” A squeal escapes your lips, you run to him. He pulls you into a tight hug, wrapping his large hands around your smaller frame. Swinging you around like crazy, a laugh bubbles up from your throat. 

“I’ve missed you so much y/n.” Cheol exasperates as he hugs you tighter, leaving a kiss on the top of your head.

“I’ve missed you too Cheol…” You whisper into his chest, breathing in his expensive cologne, not caring that you are in public; staying there to embrace him for a weirdly long period of time. “Never leave for that long again.”

1. Looking for a post 1st seige burial mounds fic on ao3. It was a wip but it's been awhile so may no longer be the case. In it jc only participated in the siege as a cover to get close enough to his brother w/out endangering lotus pier. Since he leads the charge he finds wwx first and when wwx passes out after destroying the seal jc fakes wwx's death and smuggle him back to lotus pier & hides/kinda imprison him. But the longer they're together the more jc realizes a lot of the things he blamed wwx for aren't adding up (seeing through Jin manipulations).

Jc also forgot/didn't know about ayuan so when wwx wakes up he freaks out about where his baby adopted son is, but by the time jc gets back to bm yuan is no where to be found (implied lz had already got him) but jc and wwx think this means yuan is dead. Wwx is very depressed and becomes Jin ling's secret nanny whenever the kid is at lotus pier. In the most recent updates (at the time) a baby xue yang was introduced.

He saw a disguised wwx in a hidden area by lotus pier playing in the water and is basically like 'I'm cute and small too' and plots how to get himself adopted so he can also be pampered like the wealthy kid. I think there were some alternating povs. Might of been a Lan pov too, creating dramatic irony since both yuan and wwx are alive but neither side knows? Was setting up yunmeng bro reconciliation.

14. Hi! For fic finder: I am looking for a canon-era fic where cultivators have golden blood and regular people have red blood. When Wei Wuxian loses his core his blood fades to red, which means he has to work harder to hide his wounds or they will give away his core-less state. I particularly remember the scene where Jiang Cheng stabs him in their “mock” fight WWX hides his wound with a cloak. He takes to covering up his body fully from head to toe to avoid showing any scrapes. Then after he is revived and Jiang Cheng whips him he purposefully shows the red blood to “prove” he isn’t WWX, then I think the core reveal happens when Jin Ling stabs him and everyone knows its him and they see the red blood too. I i remember is that the summary put wwx as a temporary head of the Jiang Clan, from the first few chapters I think he’s tricked/strong armed into this position by JC. He had some Buisness at koi tower or a conference that would take a while so he needed a filler and wanted WWX. I think it’s post-cannon and it had someone insulting WWX in the summary and something along the lines of a statement of spite and a declaration to prove said person wrong.

A) the only thing I remember about this fic is that it deals with the "do not speak with Wei Ying" rule. Lan Wangji was really angry when he found out and was about to go yell at his uncle, but Wei Wuxian kept trying to stop him. I remember Wwx threw himself into a pond or down a hill or something to snap Lwj out of it? I don't remember anything else about the fic unfortunately.

B) vampire au where Wwx was a vampire and the lans hunted the supernatural I think? Wangxian had to work together to stop some evil thing. I remember Wwx's backstory was something like: Wen Chao captured him and locked him in a room with a vampire, thinking it would result in Wwx dying (cultivators couldn't be turned into vampires, they would just die). But Wwx had given up his core so he got turned and Wen Chao locked him in a house with Wen Ning. There was a fire and Wwx turned Wen Ning to save his life. I also remember a scene where Wwx tried to go into Cloud Recesses, but the wards wouldn't let him. He thought this meant Lwj wanted nothing to do with him, but it was just Lan Xichen updating the wards or something.

Born soon after the first wedding, so was he the result of "we're engaged" sex or was he the reason for the proposal if there even was one before the wedding? Was Reader pregnant at the wedding??? If so, omg how cute but also it probably looked like a shotgun wedding to outsiders which is funny to me.

(Also if there was an engagement, how did Joost propose?? Was it romantic and planned or a spur of the moment thing?)

And of course the second kid is also an accident.🤣 They probably got too excited once given the all clear to have sex again after the first was born. Of course they would end up with two so close together.

Kids 1 and 2 sound like little menaces and I both love that for Joost and Reader and pity them at the same time. 

Also for the third kid, I love how Joost saying she's fussy and not liking any of his songs harkens back to when him and Reader first met and the first song of his she listened to was a skip. Like mother like daughter indeed.

I love thinking back to the prequel fic of when they met with Reader chewing out Joost for ruining her purse and later realizing she is having sex with a man with a crazy frog tattoo with all this future information in mind. Like, honey, you just met the father of your children. He is going to sing Crazy Frog to them as they go to sleep.

I'm going to say this in the context of normal au to not be parasocial and make assumptions about the actual guy, but I think Joost would be a great dad. He's like a big kid himself so he would get along with the lil kleins so well. Although that probably leaves all the discipline to poor Reader.

Or maybe some of the more mellow sky kids end up making flower crowns for him to wear on his head and horns - but with flowers made with their own sort of 'light magic' (like the confetti emote!) so they glow too, and Lilia can't recognize the flowers from any of his travels. how intriguing!

Perhaps a particularly friendly one can sit on his shoulders - they like to feel tall! And being with their big friend makes them feel safe. and kinda drowsy... and a little bit later, they may wake up to discover that they've been gently placed into a cuddle pile with a bunch of not-light animals and a pretty man with silver hair.

Oh! Or some particularly boisterous sky kids - particularly those who enjoy krill dodging - could convince Malleus to play flight-tag with them in his dragon form. They do not inform the others that a dragon will be joining the game. They will be yelled at by the others for not informing them that a dragon will be joining the game. (The brief terror would be kinda funny in hindsight though lol)

hey there hope you're having a good day! so i know absolutely nothing about F1, but a while back i stumbled across this AU where Dick is an F1 driver and ever since then i have been obsessed with it. as someone who actually has some F1 knowledge, i was wondering if you have any thoughts/headcanons about this?

ok so a key part of this would be dissecting the emotional stuntedness and ruthlessness of f1 drivers... like these kids get in karts at the age of 4/5/6/etc and they spend their entire childhoods trying to make it to formula 1... that single minded focus at the cost of everything— their education, their personal relationships— not to mention the kind of travelling and money you have to put in— all to get to the top level of sport that has only 20 seats. and even with those 20 seats, you're not guaranteed to get a seat at a team that can actually win even if you're talented enough:

so, i always envision dick as a ferrari driver. it's a team built on devotion and myth... you see where i'm going with this, yeah? it could be such a crazy parallel to have dick committed to the red car team even when they fail him, even when his hopes of winning the title slip away year by year, even when the car sucks sometimes because he believes so fervently in the fact that the only championship that really matters is the one you win with ferrari (ik you don't know f1 but hello charles leclerc!)

he probably came up through the ranks of the ferrari driver development academy (this is where i borrow from the real life of my fav ever driver max verstappen) and he got signed on to the junior team for ferrari in f1 but halfway through the season, his skill is so unparalleled that he gets promoted to the actual ferrari seat

everybody is in shock because a) he's so young! b) he's so inexperienced and c) his teammate is going to eat him alive which all parallel canon-ish reactions to bruce taking on dick as robin

i'm a little unsure on what role i want bruce to play— because he could work as a team boss or teammate but there's also a part of me that wants to equate the entirety of ferrari to bruce wayne... like he's haunting the fic through his mythos ukwim? dick believes in ferrari like he believes in batman. this is your god and you will never make weight.

but if i did go in with the teammate aspect, bruce would probably the other driver at ferrari already... he would be the slightly more experienced driver and he would see himself in dick because everyone reacted just like that to bruce getting the ferrari seat, too. cue him sort of taking dick under his wing because this is just a kid!!! and this is a kid who also lost his parents!!!

a whole recurrent motif of the media circus of real f1 as shadows who will swallow you up if you misstep + some elements of dick's masks in how he plays the media

a part of me wants to have bruce tell his parents on their deathbeds that he signed with ferrari before he actually ends up doing so (borrowed and morphed from real life driver charles leclerc) but idk how that would work without introducing some whacky, crazy fast comic illness that causes both of them to get diagnosed and die within 6 months when bruce is 17

cue bruce mentoring dick despite the fact that they're teammates, blunting out some of the edges of dick's young and unrelenting energy + impulsiveness and earnestness, helping him with constructing PR-friendly answers only to be shocked at how good dick is at demarcating between stuff on-track and off-track

dick giving confident and quippy answers that don't rlly give the media any bites but they're all so enthralled by him

meanwhile, on track, dick is a menace, he's willing to do whatever it takes to make the corner, to get a win, he'll take completely unprecedented racing lines and make the most crazy moves stick (f1 moots, yes... very much an amalgamation of max and charles look i'm not sorry)

cue bruce being threatened by how good dick is, how he'll easily surpass him one day, how he doesn't need bruce's help at all

there's two scenarios this could lead to— bruce using wayne influence to push dick out of the team which is maybe how you could introduce jason OR bruce and dick clashing so much on track that one of them ends up permanently injured?... unsure about this

dick's race engineer would probably be donna... completely in sync with him + you could build on her being one of the only female race engineers and parallel it how she's an amazon fully realized in a patriarchal society in comics (@/disco-troy ily for this set of words btw). they meet when dick is still in the lower categories (f3 maybe) and donna has just started working at the strategy department in ferrari. so there's a lot of resonance about how they're both trying to climb upwards in their careers + immediate platonic chemistry

could see babs working as dick's race engineer too— canonically, she's more suited to being the woman behind the screen and man— but ngl, i like the idea of donna way more. i prefer babs as the head of strategy at ferrari so she's still very much in dick's orbit but her importance to bruce is also equally substantial bc she has to figure out how to monopolize and make sure both the cars end up on the podium (wow if only real ferrari strat had a babs)

wally as dick's personal trainer. he's already been a trainer to an olympian athlete (barry maybe?) and then the athlete got injured and his career ended. the guy he was training was going to be second coming of christ for the sport and a part of wally feels like he failed him and the sport even tho the injury wasn't his fault. so he's struggling with lots of self-doubt and existential angst and mourning when dick approaches him. very important that dick is the one bringing wally into ferrari as opposed to ferrari bringing in wally so we can get some really juicy conflict about dick's debilitating devotion and wally's desire to do right by his athlete.

roy as a red bull racing driver (the lestappen chokehold is crazy) who has known dick since childhood— they've been racing each other since karts— and roy is maybe the only person who knows the deep cuts about dick's parents.

dick and roy... they've had a lot of fights on and off track. but they probably know each other better than most of the other people in their lives.

roy's origins could possibly mimic canon to an extent. after his father dies, he gets taken in by brave bow, who had deep ties to his father which is why he took roy. he's maybe the owner of a local auto-garage so roy grows up around cars and falls in love with them. the guys at the garage build him a scrappy kart and roy is so good that oliver queen, who was attending this random karting race with his trust-fund friends, immediately takes a shine to him and offers to help him through the feeder series so he can get to f1. they work on securing sponsors and a seat for roy together and end up becoming really close

where is garth idk i want him to be removed from the ferrari of it all but i don't see him as a driver. maybe an engineer to roy hmm idk i'd have to figure that out (should probably read more garth comics)

i have a few ideas about what happened to mary and john. the whole travelling and nomadic aspect of circus life parallels very well with them raising dick as a karting driver. they're both ex-racers themselves but probably not formula 1. possibly, dick loses them in a fatal crash when they're doing le mans... mulsanne straight, you will forever be famous :/

i'd have to figure out how dick gets by without bruce for that portion... maybe thomas and martha find out about the accident and dick is already an upcoming prodigy so they sponsor him? idk but i'd like to consider pop haly being the one who basically helps in semi-raising dick. part of me wants to think about the court of owls, too, but a) i can't be bothered to reread half those comics they're such a slog b) im always very .... about the court. half problematic, half enjoyable hmm

but dick being known as the kid of the racers who died in the media... very integral to his character and also tied deeply to his desire to win a world championship with ferrari

I SUDDENLY WANT A GIRL-DAD BARRET AU WHERE HE IS THE GIRL DAD TO END ALL GIRL DADS (yes I know this is already canon, but I want MOAR)

Barret with minified Aerith, Tifa, Jessie, Cloud, baby Marlene, and Yuffie. And maybe a little Miniroth and Genesis and Angeal.

The boys can be pre-transition (Cloud? Gen?), just honorary members of the club, post-transition (Seph?), or gender swapped through the power of AU or something.

Barret wearing two of his girlies in a backpack and a sling half the time while herding the rest of the rabble.

Barret hosting tea parties, gun arm festooned in ribbons.

Barret teaching self-defense to a bunch of pretty princesses with the chubbiest cheeks and the fiercest scowls.

Sephiroth coming over and watching from the bushes as everyone else gets to dress up. Barret initially being wary, but eventually welcoming him. Them figuring out together that Sephy is Sephira. Aerith leading the charge in welcoming her into the group.

Angeal learning how to be the best momdad dadmom from his hero, Barret, and growing up to sport the frilliest aprons for his girls while also showing off his beard.

Cloud being quietly distressed for months as she enjoys dressing up and feeling pretty, but it still doesn't feel right. Barret taking her out on a daddy daughter date and them figuring out she's a they. Cloud feeling so much more settled as they fluctuate between masc and fem presentations, but is still included.

Genesis "suddenly" deciding she's a he (he thought about this for years, but he pretends it's sudden because he lives for drama), but still being included. He gives no fucks about gender norms when it comes to fashion, and is welcomed as-is. Well, as much as anyone welcomes a squawking parrot of Loveless.

Jessie and Aerith being horrible menaces to society, then when Yuffie is acquired, molding her into their image...and creating a monster worse than the two of them combined. They are very proud.

Marlene and Tifa being the sweethearts with fists of steel who scare off all the bad guys. I mean, everyone can kick ass, but they're the ones you don't see coming. They don't start fights, but they do finish them.

Cloud, Genesis, Yuffie, and Aerith start fights.

Zack is another cis boy (like Angeal) who gets invited to things because he's just such a good boy.

Uncle Cid and Uncle Vincent take the crew out for a day and come back looking like they aged 5 years.

The gals (gender neutral) turn into a roving gang of justice and terrorize bullies everywhere.

Barret sitting in so many parent teacher conferences asking why his child is getting reprimanded when the other child harassed them first.

Or why his child is getting reprimanded for starting an underground pizza ring when her food is both healthier and tastier than anything the cafeteria is offering.

Or why his child can't wear a dress one day and a tank top and combat pants the next day. Are you saying if they're masc presenting, they can't wear a dress, or are you saying that if they're fem presenting, they can't show their shoulders? Either way, fuck you.

Or why his ginger kid and silver-headed kid can't get into a fight with each other and destroy school property over the pettiest...ok, ok, yeah fair enough. SIGH.

Murder Drones AU/Fanfic: "Through The Looking Glass"

AO3 summary: What happens... When you look through a mirror and find out the world is reversed? Is it like looking at the same world but completely different at the same time? Is it like you're looking into a window to a different world? What happens if the world as you knew it was completely flipped upside down? What happens if you look in that mirror and the same person staring back at you... Isn't you anymore? But is someone completely different living life in your shoes on the other side of that mirror?

Beau Doorman is what he'd call an average worker drone... Except maybe not so average by the time you factor in the weird dreams and the crazy over the top inventions. Okaaaaay maybe not as average or as normal as he thinks he is. Any semblance he had to normal flew right out the window with the reappearance of the colony's local drifter, a fateful scavenging trip, and three new friends haunted by their ghosts of the past. With the reemergence of a terrifying program from the past, everyone finds themselves being thrown into a story about found family, loss, grief, and recovering from that grief.

"Through The Looking Glass" (abbreviated to LG from here on) is my personal take on a swap AU! In this AU, MD canon as you know it has been taken and flipped upside down or perhaps more aptly, run through a cracked mirror. This is a character swap AU but the characters and roles have been shuffled around in deliberately wacky and wild combos and not every character/role has a clean 1:1 swap or direct mirror to their canon role

Since LG is a swap AU, this is set to retell all eight (yes, I am aware only seven are out at the time of writing) episodes of Murder Drones but with the swapped characters. Do note this is not just a 1:1 retelling of canon and some scenes are entirely new or have been twisted upside down and all around compared to how they went down in the actual episodes to the point they're almost unrecognizable unless you notice the roots of the scene

As you can see from the AO3 summary I copypasted... This AU stars Beau Doorman as our main character, taking the place of Uzi's role. He was born and raised in Outpost-3 by his parents Alice and Khan Doorman. Unlike canon Nori... Alice did not meet the business end of nanite acid in this AU and has lived to the present day/the fic's start. She is well known around the colony for being a bit of a menace with her hobby of making all kinds of scrap inventions and weaponry

Beau is joined by his childhood best friends Vivian (V) and Thad who happen to be the two most popular kids and the power couple of the school. He has also managed to befriend the mysterious borderline feral drifter named Uzi that's been randomly turning up at his colony for months now before disappearing without a trace again. Nobody knows why that mysterious purple haired girl seems to crawl around on all fours or make warbles and chirping sounds... Or why her systems are seemingly constantly running at feverishly high temperatures

There's also those three disassembly drones that haunt the vertical corpse graveyard outside Outpost-3. Let's take a look at them now, shall we?

Serial Designation B (Braiden) is the appointed leader of the disassembly drone squad and the pilot of their crashed landing pod but he's... sort of known for not feeling much like a leader. He struggles with a lot of fears over failing the squad and letting the people around him down. In fact, he worries so much about letting people down he felt bad when he tried to scare off a certain worker drone he had befriended for their safety...

Serial Designation C (Cyn) is the fastest but physically weakest of the squad due to her body and core being prone to malfunctions. She has good days where she can move about normally but on her worst days she is prone to motor malfunctions as well as voice box malfunctions leading to her voice skipping words or getting stuck. She seems to harbor a lot of guilt over some ghost of the past...

Serial Designation D (Doll) is the strongest of the squad and in a way the secondary leader because B asks for her input or suggestions often when it comes to planning or hunting tactics. She carries the weight of the squad on her back most days and tries to keep B and C from falling apart on her, but she seems to know a lot more about things than she lets on...

None of the three seem willing to mention or talk about the missing fourth drone of their group... None of the three seem willing to discuss the mysterious three-pronged symbol that's popping up on the visor of their new worker friend either. Gee, I wonder why they look so scared...?

spoke & mapicc ended up there together as kids, having been absolute MENACES to society at the ages of like. 7. (they made bombs at home and set them off in the neighbors' lawns)

honestly i think wifies is normal his parents just sensed something wrong and threw her into the school. parrot def did some insane shit regarding family drama, pissed off his parents thru some insane scheme, and got sent to the school. (probably tried to like keep his parents from divorcing with some insane plan thay failed miserably idfk)

wemmbu was just. a problem child in general. he could not behave for the life of him. that, or he bullied his classmates too hard in normal school so his ass got sent away. egg probably got sent there to be sent there honestly egg can go anywhere without any explanations needed

parrot was the group leader, but didnt lead it marlon-style, instead was like. a decent leader?? as decent as a manic 19 year old can be. deffo has pissed off the other group members before. definitely has caused problems. (def not by dragging ken and wato into the school and they immediately caused issues On Accident)

that ORRRR they vote on shit but also i doubt that specific group of people can vote on jack shit without it always turning into a massive fight

parrot like hung up a map in the main schools office of the school & their safe zone areas and spoke & wemmbu have both like bickered abt expanding the safe zone so these idiots have food since its getting harder to find in their area (animals memorizing where hunting spots are and being Smart / avoiding the safe zone area)

Sadly, we didn't really put much of it down in a doc, it's just free-floating in our messages from like a year ago, there's almost no way I'll be able to find it with how much we talk to each other, but I can try my best to remember it.

My boyfriend sent me the little bit he'd written down about pre transition Alex's view of the cowboys (Tim and Brian)

Alex's parents owned a bookstore/library I think, and Alex was expected to take over the business at some point, so he was stuck cooped up in the little back room of the shop doing boring things, inventory or whatever, and spent most of his day staring out of the window at Brian and Tim riding around on horseback and stuff. I think he and Jay had been friends for a while, like since they were kids because they both kinda clicked with all their gender stuff, even if neither of them knew they were trans when they were younger. Jay's a trans man and Alex ends up as a trans woman.

I think Jay was friends with Tim and Brian already, I seem to remember something about Jay joining those two on a ride up to the pastures, either sharing one of their horses or riding his own? And then they all stopped at this waterfall and pool halfway up and all went swimming. I think there was smutty stuff that happened at that pool lol, like Tim and Brian being completely comfortable and shameless being naked in front of each other stripping down and jumping straight into the pool. And then Jay was more hesitant but eventually, after the other two encouraged/goaded him he stripped down too and joined them in the pool.

Then sexy times occurred. No idea if we ever fleshed out what happened there lol or if it was just general "they do the sex things" or if I'm completely misremembering and adding in smut where there was none. I'm pretty sure there was smut ideas for this au tho.

Anyway. I think Jay became good friends with the cowboys and ended up in a relationship with both of them, but then he and Alex had always kinda been sweet on each other, so like, everyone in the little town they all lived in expected them to end up getting married. And at some point Alex got introduced to the cowboys by Jay? Somehow Alex met the cowboys and they really hit it off, and Alex (who at that point was still "cis") had a bit of a gay awakening realising like, oh, no it's not just Jay, I just like men oh no.

Also I think Alex also got to have a good old smutty time at that waterfall at some point?

Some other stuff happened I think and at some point after the four of them had been "very close friends" (all dating each other) for a while, Alex had a gender thing and realised she was actually a woman. Then some other stuff happened and Jay and Alex moved in with Tim and Brian. I think they had their own house or whatever, but after that most of what I remember is Brian's mum being an absolute icon.

As my boyfriend says, she was the real main character.

She was just a saint. Also all of Brian's little sisters adored Alex, all of them wanted her to braid their hair and stuff. Also I think Brian's mum was a seamstress? She made Alex her first dress even when everyone else liked, frowned at it. She just invited Alex to her shop and measured her and let her pick out her fabrics and stuff and made the dress for Alex at a discount or something.

Also I think it was a thing that all Brian and Tim's clothes were patched to hell and back, but they were patched with floral patterned fabric scraps from the offcuts of the dresses Brian's mum made?

There was also something about Tim and Brian hooking up in a barn when they were younger (they're all like, late 20's in the au I think?) and Brian's mum just kinda knew and was a menace to them about it. I think they slept in that barn a lot together. Like, sex sleeping together as well as just sleeping sleeping together lol. I think?

I really don't remember I could be making all this shit up as I go along.

My boyfriend made them all in the Sims a while ago lol, they were so cute. Alex was so pretty :]
