anyway jaskier is like. basically the human equivalent of those wild animals someone feeds who've lost all fear of people and now just break into houses to eat out of the trash and chill in the pool

he's been travelling with a witcher since he was 18. he has zero fear of any of them. he associates witchers with Having Things Done For Him and Being Provided For and Give Love. he has no reservations whatsoever about going up to any random witcher he happens to pass when geralt isn't around and asking them to help him with something or do something for him or just. trailing after them for a while because he knows if he whines perfectly on pitch they'll hunt his dinner and store his shit in their horse's saddlebags and keep him safe on the road, even if they're grumpy about it. at kaer morhen he is like the stray cat geralt fed one time and now everyone is just like "well he lives here now i guess". it just Does Not Occur to him that he might ever be in danger with a witcher around. this is a man who finds things lying around in the kaer morhen lab and just fucking. eats them

anyway. those "please do not feed the animals it teaches them to approach people" signs but. for jaskier and the oxenfurt students who start trying to imitate him and adopt a witcher

The Fantastical Four meet The Silver Burper and Doctor Bloom! A great start to Marvel's humour comic. There's some great small jokes here, like how the symbol on the FF's chest keeps changing. Or how Doctor Bloom says Shazam to activate his powers. Or how the fourth wall absolutely doesn't exist here. It's a masterpiece of comedy. (Not Brand Echh #1):

i humbly intend to offer a zs(z) historical/fantasy fic with samurai zoro and kitsune sanji! wherein sanji's home is a shrine on a certain mountain, zoro arrives one day (much to sanji's chagrin), sparking a chain of unexpected events that revolve around the shrine, a sword, a corrupt shogun, deaths that occurred a decade earlier, and the very mountain that sanji just wants to protect.

bonus points for traumatized, jaded sanji who distrusts people, zoro who doesn't gaf about politics but does care when his friends and family are in trouble, putting wano characters in a blender and gleefully sprinkling them here and there around the plot, and me being able to do one of my absolute favorite things in the world (finding new ways to beat up vinsmoke judge). also half-human-half-kitsune form sanji and everything that includes (obnoxious eyebrow wiggle here)

People STILL don’t get the importance of reblogging and it KILLS me because they’re the ones who inevitably whinge when writers cease writing. We slog our guts out, and all they can do is tap a heart? Fucking does nothing. This isn’t Twitter.

I’m sorry to keep being all sappy about it, but I’m genuinely so touched by all the warm and kind words I received in regards to my writing lately🥺🥺🥺 (I was quite literally sobbing about it but don’t tell anyone, I have a street rep to uphold)

So I was just thinking about why it is that those things get me so emotional and was doing that self-awareness thing, and I remembered how back in middle school I had a literature teacher who would cross out all of the ideas and metaphors and similes I wrote for a story for a competition and make me write her own sentences instead. She then would proceed to compare me to another student, who she deemed the most creative in class, and kept saying that I was only decent in writing solid, dry, technical text.

Fast forward to when I moved to US, with limited language skills, and never wrote anything creative besides the assignments for grades, or signed up for any of the writing classes. I was convinced I’m no good at it and never will be good at it because I’m “only decent in writing solid, dry, technical text.” Add in the fact that I’m an ELL and here I am, with my good pal Impostor Syndrome sitting in my lap. It’s pretty sad to think that the first time I wrote something creative and was very proud of it, it was crossed out and I hadn’t attempted to write anything of the sort since for plus-or-minus 10 years.

Idk why I’m sharing this, but I guess it’s just to say that comparing is never helpful. Don’t compare yourself to others, don’t compare others to yourself, and don’t let anyone else do it to you too. Encouragement goes a long way, even if it’s just one word or a like or a heart emoji. Don’t shun anyone’s attempt at creativity, even if you don’t like it - you never know the effect it may have on someone. It goes for writing and drawing (had a very similar experience) and whatever else you can think of.

Create for yourself, make what you want to, first and foremost, ask for advice and feedback, but don’t let anyone dictate their own ideas onto your work. It doesn’t hurt to try and it doesn’t cost anything to be kind.
