Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

i really do admire how lando tries to not give a fuck (that 'whatever' really saddened me so much) but he actually does, and a lot.

guy doesn't even want anything absurd, he just wants the support of his team for the last fucking 4 races but no... let's just get humiliated for one point on international tv💀.

they're really stretching him thin — and i mean it in a emotional and mental wellbeing way. he is obviously inherently selfless and quite literally does not hold self-esteem, but in the last year we've seen him trying to be more sure of himself and trying to be selfish for once. the moment he does that though, he gets accused of being the spawn of satan. and then the team does everything in the world to make it harder for him.

so i really do admire him, because i literally would PERSONALLY leave the sport after this one season.

he's so much stronger than i am.

"oh it can't be that bad" my guy idk how to tell you this but the last time i went to a normal high school the principal called me into his office to brag about how he failed me in all of my classes before the semester was even finished & i should quit while i'm ahead cuz i'm too stupid ("officially" diagnosed as such by a school counselor & a psychiatrist!!) to succeed. & this is considered normal

I like to draw, and I invested on a wood laser cut machine, and now that I know how It works I can do THIS

These are wood earrings (8€ a pair), I made the drawings, then laser cutted the wood and then painted them. Also varnish them for protection.

I also made them into pendants (8€ the big ones and 6€ de tiny) and keychans (8€ each one)

I am open for commissions of wood things like, "I want (put here what you want) as a keychan", but then I will charge a little bit more for the new drawing.

If the drawing it's very simple, something like this, It will be only +3€

But if it's something more complex like this, the price will be discussed on message. Idk right now how much, but a complex lineart Illustration could be around 25€.

Hot take but maybe Ao3 should use some of their funding to make their own encryption / Captchas instead of giving the domain to Cloudfare. Or at least implement an alternative, non-3rd-party method of defending against DDosses

Since, y'know, Cloudfare could be a massive data mining company and is already causing problems for a lot of users... Further reading below

"Now cloudflare has control to eavesdrop and log any user interactions with your website or silently tamper content if they please." -dr jimbob (Link) explains this well & briefly in a stack exchange comment.

JoePie91 has a post criticizing Cloudfare & provides alternatives at the end, although the article is old so take it with a grain of salt (Link).

Troy Hunt has an equally old article in support of Cloudfare, if you want a different opinion (Link). Although I disagree with a lot of his takes, and the whole "anyone who disagrees is crazy and polarized" bit is super off-putting.

"if your choices are to either run entirely unencrypted or to protect against the 95% (or thereabouts) of transport layer threats that exist between your visitors and your origin, do the sensible thing. Nobody in their right mind is going to advocate for remaining totally unencrypted rather than using CloudFlare purely to encrypt between their edge nodes and your users. I personally think security absolutism is silly, but to say people who want to use more secure alternatives are "not in their right mind" is an insane straw man.

#my new job is like a damn dream btw #i'm not getting paid as much as my target was but it more than makes up for it in really good work culture #and tons of employee engagement/amenities that are just fucking Nice #not that i utilize most of this but: cafe with free food and drinks. 24/7 on-site gym access. very flexible work schedule.#frequent free food events #discounts on sport/concert tickets/ski resorts/etc #unlimited PTO. tuition reimbursement. volunteer support (can take time out of your work day to do volunteer work while still getting paid).#my manager's ethic is: don't care what hours you work as long as you're here at the morning meeting and get all your work done #basically as long as i communicate i can work 7-3 or 8-4 or 9-5 or whatever suits my personal schedule #and i am allowed to leave when my work is done. no sitting around twiddling my thumbs trying to look busy #if all i have left is data analysis i can leave early and do it from home if i want #i can set up my work so that i can work from home once or twice a month. something i never thought I'd be able to do as a bench scientist #its so amazing compared to anywhere else I've worked #i'm sure it's laughable compared to the super wealthy pharma companies but those are evil places so i'm happy with this #ALSO i get regular raises and a merit bonus every year #just...wow what a great place to settle down for a few years

I kind of just want to drop out of college and crochet and write books and

#get married (i don't have a boyfriend)#and have kids (i am not in a relationship or stable enough for a family)#i kinda wanna sell crochet stuff but it takes me like a month to make any and everything #plus i suck at reading and understanding patterns #and all ik is single crochet and double crochet and even then i think i do them wrong as well #Tunisian stitch is fun but i don't have a hook long enough and it hurts my hand #idk if it was just my sinuses and lack of sleep but ive felt so bad all day #and my back hurts cause i sit like a shrimp and don't know how to stand i guess #im so tired. genuinely.#and my mouth is fucked up again with sores because of stress and biting at my own lips #and its so lonely being in college #which is kinda funny cause i have more people i would actually consider as friends than ever #but i kinda just feel like im *there*#and i have a million projects to do but i played fortnite with my sis and her husband and my brother instead #and my dad taught my sis and i to play solitaire #and then i beat them both at black jack (it was actually a tie of how many matches i won but shhh)#and i know im blessed that im basically getting paid to go to college by my college but #it just doesn't feel right. like it feels isolating and lonely #and i have gone to some events btw they are not that great

Bruh, read an entire season of a webtoon, the season finale just released, it's a cliffhanger, and that is followed by a notice of indefinite haitus where the artist has no interest in continuing the story.

For the first time ever, I saw comments disabled for a webtoon. She KNOWS she's pissed people off lol. Waste of time.

#She didn't even let people know ahead of time #Finale out then just a note afterwards “oh BTW I won't be continuing this :)”#This happens not uncommonly on webtoons #Because anyone can make and get paid for a story there #So often they don't do proper planning and make it up as they go and then realise they cant come up with an ending #Or they just get bored of writing that story #I support the authors that stop for health or protest reasons #Webtoons do not pay very well #But when you keep writing half stories and dropping them #It feels disrespectful to customers #People PAID not insignificant money to get early access gave extra payments as author support etc.
