while childe’s the type to always get into fights and be simped over, kaeya is the cliche flirt and womaniser. He’s not.a playboy however, man has never cheated on anyone and always tries his best not to lead people on, insisting he’s simply “praising the gift of the archons that is women” 

he normally doesn’t participate in fights but, u’ve seen how violent he can get with your own 2 eyes. something about his father and brother, diluc and the fatui.. and what even is the fatui? u’re not sure u want to know. but either way, u’ve decided to stay on his good side for now.

the 2 of them have made it a point to visit you randomly during sch hours and it’s alw so chaotic lawd 😭

another hot senior, but he always seems so.. tired. literally whenever u see him, he looks like he’s running on 2h of sleep and a cup of black coffee. 

but.. that doesn’t change the fact that he is LITERALLY ONE OF THE HOTTEST MFS U’VE EVER SEEN.

he’s also pretty smart, and apparently owns some big wine company, so he’s got the cash as well.

U’ve heard rumours about something about him and kaeya going on and if you hadn’t witnessed their little outburst, you doubt you would believe those 2 were ever brothers.

DEFO BFFS WITH DILUC. they are the stressed study buddies. whenever u see them, they’re always having some kind of highly intellectual conversations, that you struggle to keep up. 

he gives off like top student vibes, definitely top in his level and the model student. 

he also gives off tired dad vibes tbh, like the amt of times u’ve seen him chasing after hu tao, xiao, ganyu and all the other is too many to count

so how did they end up here again? 

bennet was hell bent on joining some “adventure team” but well, that clearly did not exist and since razor’s only plan was to follow bennet around, their friend fischl(with a vv vivid imagination, you must say) just decided to write down poetry for the 2 of them, since that’s the club that she would be joining.

fischl is amazing at poetry, although the words she chooses can be.. complicated at times.

as for bennet and razor, they’re a little confused, but they’re got the spirit!

u always try ur best to help them with ur senior kazuha, and u’ve honestly developed a bit of a soft spot for them

heck, it’s so good, it could even be counted as free literature tuition! you wouldn’t be surprised if the reason for that A was solely due to him.

another member of your beloved poetry club! or should i say.. ghost member? he’s never really present during club hours anyways. however, according to kazuha, his audition was one of the best by far?? he’s in your class and is always seen slacking, but his grades are so?? good?? during cca one time u were going to the toilet and caught him singing a song with his lyre, a pretty unique one at rhat and, let’s js say, you got the hype.

i have another headcanon that he would be in choir, but again, ghost member. bro disappears during every single practice but in the middle of every official performance/showcase, he has a slight tendency to well.. drop down from the ceiling hanging from a rope and start singing the chorus at the top of his lungs. 

in fact, this is such a common occurrence that the choir teachers have literally starting planning when he’s going to drop down, and incorporating it in their performance plan !

however, venti (this little shit), unfortunately, found out about this and now drops in at the most randomest of times, sometimes even more than once, and sometimes, with the wrong lyrics too,,

the quiet emo kid at the back of the class! he’s that one emo yk, window seat, earpiece(wired ones.) he’s surprisingly smart, tho u doubt he even pays attention during class. 

venti is always seen around him, but you’re kinda starting to doubt if they’re even friends, since it’s usually a one-sided thing, with venti talking while xiao js looks out of the window looking well, emo.

he’s always clinging onto zhongli too, and when u asked him abt it once, he said that he admires zhongli a lot and wishes to be like him!

Meet My Zoo

Marco and Polo

Marcito the Dorito and Pollo

My old boys, they’ll be 10 this September. They are some of the most bonded cats I’ve ever met. They got their names because my big kids were little when we got them and the kittens would begin yelling as soon as they lost sight of one another.

Marco loves everyone, wants to be pet RIGHT NOW. And then proceeds to drool all over you when you do pet him. He has nakey legs because once, SEVEN YEARS AGO, our dog brought home fleas and he’s compulsively taken his hair off ever since. The vet says he’s fine, just neurotic (same bud, same).

Polo loves Marco and my oldest son. He tolerates everything else.

Odin and Freyja

They just turned 4 in July.

We got these two as bottle babies after their mom rejected them.

Odin is a big cat. Like really the kind that makes people stop and comment on how big he is. While he’s currently on a diet but the vet estimates he’ll never be below 15-16lbs, currently he’s 18lbs. He’s a big baby and truly believed our dog was his mother. I now get the joy of waking up to his murder paws bearing all his weight onto my ribs every night. He loves being brushed and playing fetch with hair ties.

Freyja is the prettiest cat I’ve ever seen. She’s soft and silky, with a gorgeous feather plume tail. She’s the tiniest adult cat we have weighing 9.5lbs. She enjoys being looked at but not touched. The only person allowed to brush her is my middle son, and she rewards him by sleeping in his bed. Freyja has 6 confirmed critter kills despite being a strictly indoor cat, she once caught a live bat in our basement. She’s our only cat to have ever caught and killed something. (She’s also our most expensive cat because she’s very sensitive to vaccinations but due to her bloodlust I’m terrified she’ll contract rabies so she gets vaccinated and then spends 24hrs in observation at the vet. Every. Time. )

Luke & Leia

Lukey Dookey and Leiabeaia

They are our newest babies at only 3 months. They’re only babies yet and very much growing into their personalities but I love them so much already.

Luke is the sweetest boy, loves cuddles and being held. The boy has absolutely no self preservation instinct. He’s often found being held upside down or trying to fight Odin. His only saving grace is that Odin thinks the kittens are the coolest things. Luke IS smart enough to run to a person when he’s scared, which he often is.

Leia is a strong independent woman. For their own safety the kittens used to sleep in a large crate until we felt everyone was comfortable. She would scream her whole way to the crate and make it impossible to catch her. She is the reason they earned night time freedom. She can often be found beating the crap out of her brother.

Charlie

Charles T Bunneh

We have zero idea how old Charlie is, he’s at least 3 but possibly as old as 6. Charlie was an unintentional acquisition. A family member did that very cliche thing of getting pregnant and no longer having time for him. My youngest son’s favorite animals are rabbits. I’m sure you figured out what happened. Our vet actually laughed at me when I said I was done collect animals during his first visit. (It was not, he was actually gotten a month before the kittens)

Charlie is the goodest bunny. Has no problem with our cats, will occasionally chase Luke but it’s definitely playful. He sits so nice for nail trims. He’s learned my husband’s schedule and the only time I’ve ever heard him thump was when my husband was home late and therefor late giving Charlie his snack.

WE ARE DONE with new animals for a very very long time.

to start off, to say i’m massively grateful would be an understatement. i honestly didn’t expect to start writing again after quitting like 5 years ago 💀 and just decided to write for boynextdoor on a whim bc they haven’t debuted yet and would probably need some writers on the blr 😎

i was really excited to try out writing again having been a ghost reader for so long HELP (i’m not proud) and fate just led me back to my ult seventeen!

when i wrote, i just wanted to get my work out there and published on the cloud, and the reception and friends i made along the way were certainly not on my bingo card but a welcome surprise nonetheless. i’m really, really grateful that people like reading my work and i’m sorry that i can’t push out fics regularly! i write on random spurts of inspiration and i have so many wips rn PLS i’ll do my best to publish them all soon!!!

and now to the friends i made along the way! i may not have been talking to y’all much lately but i’m still so grateful to have met each and everyone of you in my writing journey, y’all have been some of the sweetest, funniest, and most genuine people i have met ever and i love all of you guys:

About Me

When did you first start writing?

Only two years ago. I used to only fantasized about scenarios, dream stories, never feeling confident enough to put it to paper, but then I did and I fell in love with it.

Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write?

Absolutely not! Romance and fantasy, those are my go to genres in reading and writing. I'm also okay with adventure, but romance has to be part of it. What can I do, I love romance~

Is there an author (or just a fellow writer!) you want to emulate, or one to whom you’re often compared?

Not that I'm aware of. If yes, not on purpose.

Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)? (Room, coffee shop, desk, etc.)

Everywhere. I don't really have a writing space, just a little corner with my laptop, because I can literally write anywhere. Sometimes I get a sudden urge to write something down, so I grab my phone, fight autocorrect (I write in German, but my phone's keyboard is also in English, so sometimes it thinks I'm writing in English and messes everything up), and write it down.

What’s your most effective way to muster up some muse?

Listening to music. Everything works better with music. I come up with scenes, or even develop an OCs character through a song that I connect with them. It really helps.

Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about?

I don't think so…to be honest, I like to be very vague about the places my stories take place because I don't want people to recognize things. Wait, let me explain! When I read a story where the place isn't described in detail, it makes it easier for me to immerse myself. Sounds weird, I know, but I feel restricted if you describe every nook and cranny, and that's why I give very vague descriptions.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all?

As established before, I'm a huge romance fan, so I have a lot of recurring romantic themes. And no, they do not surprise me at all, because they are very much welcome~

My Characters

Would you please tell me about your current favorite character? (Current WIP, past WIP, never used, etc.)

Oooof, okay. I love all my OCs, but if I had to choose between the ones I'm writing right now, it would have to be Daisy. She's from my WIP "Daisy" and is the sweetest, softest, purest OC I've ever written. She is a joy to write because my other OCs are either very traumatized (Leon) or the worst human being to walk the earth (Azul). Daisy is like a breath of fresh air, a break from strong, witty characters.

Which of your characters do you think you’d be friends with in real life?

Without a doubt, Sophie from "Memories of the Future". She would be a joy to be around. She's extremely extroverted and I'm painfully introverted. She would do all the talking and social interactions, but would never leave me behind. She is friendly and easy to get along with. I describe her as a "Sonnenkind". Literally translated "a child of the sun". It means she has a sunny disposition.

Which of your characters would you dislike the most if you met them?

Azul. To put it in simple words: he is a bitch and will most probably make me cry.

Tell me about the process of coming up with of one, all, or any of your characters.

It's a pretty simple process. There's not a lot of thinking behind it. They are the most natural thing that comes to me (easier than the plot hehe). The only one I really put a lot of effort into is Azul. I created him while I was playing a game (The Arcana: A Mystic Romance), but developed him outside of it after I finished the game. He was never meant to be what he is now (an asshole) because when he came to life, I didn't even think about writing at all. For some reason he stayed with me and I just used him whenever I daydreamed or made little scenes in my head while listening to music.

Do you notice any recurring themes/traits among your characters?

Oh yes, yes I do. Tall, scary but actually soft. Witty, never seems to be serious, but is the most serious when necessary. Petite but headstrong… I could go on and on.

How do you picture them? (As real people you imagined, as models/actors who exist in real life, as imaginary artwork, as artwork you made or commissioned, anime style, etc.)

I'm very particular about what my characters look like. I have Pinterest boards for some of them filled with faces that could potentially look like them, but I mostly go for real people.

My Writing

What’s your reason for writing?

Because I like doing it~ It's as simple as that!

Is there a specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating coming from your readers?

I love any kind of comment, but I love it when a reader agrees or even disagrees with a choice a character has made, because that means they are invested in the story, that means they are experiencing the story.

How do you want to be thought of by those who read your work? (For example: as a literary genius, or as a writer who “gets” the human condition; as a talented worldbuilder, as a role model, etc.)

Nothing much, to be honest. Just as a girl that writes compelling stories~

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

I think the romantic aspect is what comes out the best. I like writing it a lot, so maybe that's why I feel like it's a strenght.

What have you been frequently told your greatest writing strength is by others?

I've been told that I write good plots, that my ideas are interesting.

How do you feel about your own writing? (Answer in whatever way you interpret this question.)

I really like it. I like how it grew, how it developed through these two years and I like how it keeps developing.

If you were the last person on earth and knew your writing would never be read by another human, would you still write?

Dark question, okay. I would be very lonely, but I would still write. I love writing, and I love reading what I write, so I would still do it until my last breath.

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely what you enjoy? If it’s a mix of the two, which holds the most influence?

I think it's a subconscious mix. I do write purely what I enjoy, but I think I get influenced without wanting to.

What's something that makes your coworkers smile to talk about, every time?

Ah, this is the sweetest thing anyone could have asked! Okay, I'll go through all of them...

This is Fireman, my partner in crime up in the locomotive cab. She and I have a lot of funny conversations up there when we're on the rails. She's a meme and YTP encyclopedia and she'll quote the old classics for ages. But I really love listening to her talk about some of her favorite topics, like chemistry or world religions, or hearing her delightedly pull something out of nowhere from an old hyperfixation (mountaineering). Then her passion comes out and it's great.

Assistant Conductor is one of the coolest people I have ever met, and she's such a good writer. A lot of people expect her to be really serious because she's really tall and masks the best out of all of us, but she LOVES cute stuff and gets so excited over it. She likes coming up with aesthetic Pokemon teams for her friends and absolutely glows with joy when she shows you all the stuff she's done on her Animal Crossing island.

Brakeman is like a decade younger than the rest of us so we all indulge him like a little sibling. He's always going on excitedly about whatever action movie he most recently watched or the fighting games he's currently playing, and if you ask him to tell you about his dream to fight on top of a moving train he gets ecstatic. (You can also give him dessert. He loves dessert.)

Conductor is almost never not smiling, to be fair, and it's one of the things I love most about him. He's a big goofball. He's passionate about so many things - playing trombone, drawing rubberhose cartoons, cooking, playing video games, railroad history...he just loves life and loves the world and loves existing and learning more and I just think that's so goddamned wonderful. He is an absolute breath of fresh air, and he's so silly and joyful that he helps me be silly again too.

(The others have also said he smiles like that when he talks about me, but...y'know...)

Anyway, there we go! Sorry that took me a while, we were all out to dinner after getting back from our last run of the week!

A/N: Hi!! I’m back with the prologue for my first ever mini series! This is the GreekGod!Jimin story I was talking about a little while ago. I actually changed the story a lot after new inspiration struck me. A new detail that I hope a lot of people will like is that reader has Vitiligo. I was inspired by this woman I saw the other day. She was so beautiful and poised and she told me that she absolutely loves BTS after seeing my RJ bag charm. So this is dedicated to her! I also hope my reader’s with vitiligo like this! I tried to describe reader’s skin as beautifully and respectfully as possible. I even asked an old coworker of mine how he would describe his wife who also has vitiligo. “Please! I’m begging you! Don’t do this!”

“Ares, for treason and insubordination, I sentence you to death.”

Tears streamed down your cheeks, gorgeous face twisted in anguish. He hated to see you cry. Your tears should never fall, not for him and not for others.

This was all his fault. Your grief and distress were due to him. He broke the promise he made to you all those centuries ago. He promised he’d never make you sad, to always fill your days with his love and joy, to walk beside you until the day the world ends.

He was such a fool.

And as he knelt on the floor, body sore from battle and ears ringing from the thundering boom of the God above him, all he could focus on was you. Even in tears, you were the most beautiful goddess he’s ever laid his eyes upon.

Before he met you, his life was lackluster, monotone…..lonely. Days spent bathed in the blood of the fallen, his blade his only companion, the screams of the wounded the sound that lulled him to restless slumber. He didn’t care for anything else except fulfilling his duty and satisfying his bloodlust.

Then he stumbled across a cool stream, the sound of the rushing water doing nothing drown out the noises in his head. The most it could do was quench his thirst and clean his bloodied cape. After he had his fill and had less than successfully cleaned a little blood out of his cape, he draped it over a rock before plopping down on the grass with a huff. He was so tired. He just wanted to close his eyes for a bit.

The sound of singing startled him, his body immediately going into attack mode. He unsheathed his sword with practiced grace, ready to slice down any threat.

But there was none.

There was only you sitting at the edge of the stream, a small sewing kit in your lap, your hands working on what he recognized as his cape.

He didn’t know how to process what was happening, his brain still moving a little slowly from his short nap. Where did you come from? When did you get here? His instincts were always on guard. He should have heard you coming.

Why…..?

Your singing suddenly stopped. You lifted the cape up, surveying the now patched tear to make sure it looked nice. After humming to yourself in content, you turned to face him and the sight of your face almost made him fall to his knees.

You were positively ethereal.

Your robes were a light pink color, the delicate fabric wrapped around your body flowed around you as if the wind followed you, desperate to grace your skin. Your clothing allowed him to appreciate the beauty of your lustrous skin—an expanse of dark brown with lighter spots that looked like paint splotches on your divine canvas. But each one was placed so carefully, as if whatever God that sculpted you had intentionally taken their passion out on your already lavish complexion. Eyes kind and gentle, and your hair full and huge with flowers and butterflies decorating it.

“Oh, you’re awake? You’ve been sleeping for a couple hours. I can only imagine how tired you must have been.”

Hours? That was impossible! He didn’t sleep that long. And certainly not when he wasn’t in the safety of his home. Even then, he was lucky to get 4 hours before waking from the nightmares.

How had you managed to sneak up on him?

Realizing he had yet to respond to you, he said, “who are you? Where did you come from?”

You didn’t falter at his hostility or harsh tone. You had just shown up and started touching his belongings. You’d be defensive too.

“My apologies. I didn’t mean to startle you. I came to be alone but then I saw your torn cape and thought I’d mend it for you.” You stood to your feet, dusting off your robes before folding his cape. “Here you are. It was torn in a weird place so the stitch is noticeable but you can still wear it.”

He hesitated for a moment but he didn’t feel like you were a threat so he lowered his weapon. You noticed how he didn’t sheath it again but said nothing.

He shuffled closer to you, keeping his eyes on your hands. Once he was close enough, he grabbed the cape from you before backing away again.

“Well, I’ll leave you be. Try not to tear it again, okay? It’s such a beautiful cape.” Your smile was soft but so inviting. It made his heart stutter, a block forming in his throat at your gaze. Why did you look at him that way?

And then you left him there, a weird feeling settling over him at your absence. He shook it off.

He sheathed his weapon, holding his cape with both hands. It was still covered in blood and a little damp.

He found the spot where the tear had once been, only to find it closed and bound tight by a bright pink string. It stood out as stark as day against the grey fabric. He ran his fingers over the stitch, a gasp coming from his throat when a sudden surge of emotion struck him.

And he still felt that as he watched you fall to your knees, screaming his name and pleading for his retribution.

Yearning.

He yearned for your touch right now, for you to hold him tightly in your arms like you never wanted to let him go. He yearned for your smile, your laughter, your affection, your kiss.

He yearned for you. He loved you. He adored you.

“Ares! No! Please!”

The blade lifted, a glint shining on its sharp edge but he wasn’t afraid. He didn’t even focus on the person holding the weapon. All he could see was you.

His eyes squinted in the adorable way they did when he smiled, his teeth showing themselves, including the slightly crooked one you loved so much. You loved him so much.

“I love you, my oasis.”

Do intact male rabbits scent mark often? Is this off putting? Are intact males significantly more aggressive with people (I know they’re more aggressive with other rabbits) than neutered males? Could an intact buck make a decent companion or should “pet rabbit people” just stick to females and sterilized males?

Lemme try to answer these in sections just to kind of keep things organized

Scent Marking

It's kind of an 'it depends' sort of situation. All rabbits of any sort of dominant personality will scent mark (usually by rubbing the scent gland on their chin on whatever they've decided is theirs to claim - their cages, a table, a toy, their food dish, other rabbits, human beings, etc.), and this isn't really much of a problem. It doesn't really smell like anything to us humans, and if anything it's kind of adorable.

What intact bucks can do that most does won't do is something called 'spraying.' This is a different form of scent marking where they lift their butt high up and spray out a very smelly urine, usually onto a wall... But sometimes even on people (yuck). Some bucks will actively jump and twist as they spray so the urine can cover more area. Not all bucks do this, however, and for most breeders this is an extremely off-putting trait. Many breeders have had success with just breeding this behavior out of their lines by culling bucks that exhibit it. Unfortunately, a buck that sprays will probably continue spraying even after it's been castrated, so this is kind of a case where you're just going to want to ask the breeder you're buying from if their bucks have a history of spraying, or to ask the shelter you're adopting from if the particular rabbit you're adopting has exhibited this behavior.

Human Aggression

This may be surprising but... Intact bucks are often considerably less aggressive than does! Does tend to be way more hormonal than bucks, which can make them super moody. To be honest, I've met very few sweet intact does in my lifetime. Many of them either are skittish, indifferent, or just downright hostile toward people. Temperament can be genetic, so it is possible to breed for does with a kinder temperament, but even then you're more often to end up with an indifferent doe than a doe that wants anything to do with people. There are definitely exceptions! I currently have a doe that, after calming down from a particularly hormonal period of time, has become one of the sweetest rabbits ever and is super friendly. I know of a few does like her! I just know of way more friendly bucks than I know of friendly does.

Good Companions?

Intact bucks can make amazing companions. The rabbit in my profile pic was Blackavar, my first breeding buck who eventually retired to being a pet rabbit. He wasn't a sprayer, and he was one of the sweetest, most gentle rabbits I've ever had the pleasure of spending time with. To be honest, I owe my life to him - if a rabbit could be a service animal, he very much could have been one. I had another intact buck named Argentum (Aggie or Ags for short), and while he wasn't quite as sweet as Blackavar, he could be super affectionate (sometimes maybe even a little too much) and was just in general a goofball that was a joy to spend time around. The buck I have now, Draco, came to me as an extremely anxious young buck, but has become super friendly and affectionate and loves to spend time with me.

To be honest, I would argue that an intact buck will generally make a better companion than an intact or even a spayed doe. I wouldn't necessarily recommend getting a buck neutered either, because their risk for reproductive cancer is fairly low, and any sort of surgery is a very risky procedure for rabbits that should only be done if it absolutely has to be done (which, imo, is a very, very, very rare thing). Like I said, just make sure to ask about a history of spraying either in the rabbit itself or in the other adult rabbits related to the one you're getting, and especially if you're looking for a companion, ask if you can spend some time with the rabbit before you officially purchase it to make sure that it does have a great temperament that will fit what you expect of a companion animal, regardless of the sex or reproductive status of that rabbit.

More Than This

Some of these are high scored because they're older, and some because they were just popular in comparison. There's a lot of overlap between this list and my favorites, but there are some differences.

One thing I notice is that the fics that were 'gift fics' where they were written to a specific prompt, or Carry on Reverse Bang fics, written to art that was made before the fic, didn't make my top ten, probably because it feels like the creativity that built them wasn't wholly mine. I still love those fics, but just not quite as much.

Also, other than Raising Dragons, I didn't include WIPs, though they may become favorites when they are done. I'm especially fond of Saving Simon Snow, my forced marriage fic, which I think is getting close to finished. I'll probably start posting that one by April!

And the experience of writing was a huge factor in my choices below. Getting to collaborate with lovely people, or finding myself as a writer features in all or most of my favorites.

Here is my list of faves:

A Fucked-Up Cinderella Story. Ok, the butt plug joke is my favorite joke of anything I've written, Ok? Not to mention, this is the Erotic Gropefest collaboration where I first met and worked with my dear friend Fristi and learned what a joy it is to collaborate with a brilliant artist.

Back To Start: I've called this fic my baby, and it is. It's the first fic I wrote where I really felt like a competent writer, and you don't forget that feeling. I used a whole lot of my life experience in writing Baz as a baby and child too, so it's especially dear to me.

Careful What You Wish For: This was my second collaboration, and @ivelovedhimthroughworse Apricot is the sweetest, most supportive partner anyone could ask for. And this fic is my favorite type to read: angsty, science-y, plot heavy with loving smut.

The Watford Games: This was the first plot driven fic I ever wrote, and I'm proud of what I accomplished with it. And it's also another type of fic I love to read: AUs that put Simon and Baz in place of well-known characters.

The Blue and The Gray: Written for COTTA, this fic didn't make the AO3 top ten, and I think that's because the American Civil War is probably of lesser interest to non-Americans. But I love it, and I think it was the first fic that made me feel like a writer. You don't forget that.

Raising Dragons: Even though this is unfinished, I've had so much fun writing pregnancy and childhood shenanigans in the SnowBaz universe. Not to mention getting to work with Fristi again!

A Real Doll was from the Monster Under the Bed fest, my first non-COTTA fest. This is the first smut fic I ever wrote solely for the purpose of smut, and I think it turned out pretty decent! (Also was the first fic that got a comment from Aralias, which meant a lot to me).

New Year, New Me: This one again didn't make the AO3 top ten, most likely because of the mpreg tag. But it is the exception to the 'gift fic curse', because again, I got to put so much of myself into it. The song @moodandmist and @cutestkilla wrote for it helps elevate this one for me too!

Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun: I'll be honest here. I'll read PWP for the usual reasons, but it's always been one of my least favorite categories. I like plot in my fics. But this idea of Baz and Simon having a foursome with their own clones came to me and wouldn't let me go. And the fact that I got to work with Ashton, @artsyunderstudy? That is absolutely the reason this makes my top ten.

The White Chapel: This one is very new and will likely score higher as I get some distance from it. But as an adaptation of my all time favorite movie, Xanadu, it was a pleasure to write from start to finish (and it's also an exception from the gift fic curse, I'm now realizing--but it wasn't written to a prompt and I think that makes the difference).

hello my beloved hidden, it is my favorite day of the entire year, the year that i get to celebrate all of YOU. that i get to express my almost overwhelming gratitude to all of you incredible members, to my dear best friends on the admin team, to all the past members who still resonate within the heart of hidden. somehow, someway, hiddenwashington turns FIVE YEARS OLD today, and i am already in tears writing that sentence and we’ve just gotten started. when i started hidden, in some sleep deprived delirium at 2am five years ago (and then hitting the tags at 5am that same morning), i never once imagined i would still be here even a year, let alone 5 years later, still loving and cherishing every single moment i get to spend here. it has been the most rewarding, challenging, downright hysterical and overwhelmingly beautiful experience of my life to your head admin, to be the one that gave you all this special place to be unapologetically you. and you all have done that, whatever that means for you, you have been the reason that hidden is still here five years later. this place would never be the same without your influence. to whatever member is reading this, please know that i mean that, hidden would be so incredibly different without you as a piece of our history. i know that i sound a little cliché when i say that hidden is my home and yours, that you will always have a home in washington, but i mean it. i have never not meant that. this place is so special, it is a home to those who need it, a place to explore yourselves, to explore your characters, to create these incredible moments in writing, in the chats-- seriously, i cannot imagine a better place with a better group of people. i know i’m sappy, but like, members, i genuinely mean it, that you make this place as good as it is. we are so beyond lucky to have such talent on our dashes, to have such dedicated people writing. the replies that i read every day just blow me away. and that goes for any member-- to those who have been here for ten minutes, or ten months, who have been here since the very beginning, or those who left us, you are all some of the sweetest, most talented writers i have ever met. hidden is the warm and welcoming place because of all of you, because you all look out for each other. it doesn’t matter if you have spoken to someone for two minutes or two years, if you have no canon connections or whatever, you are all so warm and caring about each other. the community you guys create, it’s home. i have never laughed so hard in my life, than with some of the conversation we have had in the discord, i am constantly inspired by your writing on the dash, the development you all can create for your characters, it’s something that should be published for the entire world to see. if i could scream my love for you all from the mountain tops, just for a chance for the world to know how wonderful you are, i would. it’s my yearly duty to swap between tired mom, to proud mom. so please, give me a few moments to absolutely gush about the admin team that helps me stay even remotely sane every day. i’m so deadass when i say that they are some of the best admins in the entire world, the amount of work they put into the group, into all of the decisions that are made-- you only see a fraction of the work that i have the joy of watching in real time, but they really are as good as it gets and i need them to know how thankful i am for them. and friends, you only have to deal with me being this sappy like once a year so, deal, while i highlight all of you xoxo !!! gotta start with a shoutout to the other half of my brain, my right hand man, probably the only reason hidden is still going bc without them i’d have gone insane by now, sunny-- just thank you? like genuinely, sincerely, thank you. for everything. for allowing me to be unapologetically myself, for allowing your dms to be my space to vent, to joke, to dump a million messages, for helping solve every single issue that has come up, for sticking by my side for five full years now, for being such a genuine friend, for being the best dm out there-- like damn you put up with so much bullshit from us how have you not TPK’d us earlier. thank you for being the voice of reason, for being the nice admin, for calming everything when i want to just give up and throw my hands up in the air. i love you, like more than you know, more than i need to say. you’re p cool. ollie, my beloved, please, i’m begging you to use this anniversary to TAKE A BREAK. the fact that you have joined the team, having never been an admin before, and have become one of the best we’ve ever had is so impressive, i forget that you haven’t even been on the team an entire year. you put in so much work, you are the force we lean on (maybe sometimes too much, pls i promise ill make sure you get a break), you dedication to the main is awe inspiring and i cannot express how thankful i am to you for being here. for putting in as much work as you do. for being an admin for less than a year and being our top tag ???? insanity. but really, we would not keep going most days without you ollie, i hope you know it never goes unappreciated. i love you a lot, thank you. seriously. i don’t know if i can say it enough to express how much i mean that. aria, a powerhouse, an icon, the real owner of the brain cell, i seriously don’t think the main would be half as functioning or well researched without you. you somehow, always, end up finding the answers that we need, your knowledge of faceclaims is unmatched and i wanna be you when i grow up. minus the minion love but it’s forgivable today and today alone. your ability to solve so many issues that arise is incredible, and i hope you know how thankful i am for every minute you spend working on the main, answering fc suggestions and everything. also your icons are always the highlight of my day, i hope you know how loved you are, by me. specifically. idc about everyone else, i love you, thank you so much my friend ♥ cherry !! yet another majority shareholder of the team dumbass brain cell. i know i can always count on you to write the best messages to send out to people, to always know how to word things and almost decipher what we’re all trying to say when we’re just yelling. i am always so impressed by you, cherry, you are sincerely one of the most genuine, kindest people i have ever met, and you also know when to put your foot down, how to not take shit, like i really know we can always count on you to be there when we need the support. thank you, for everything, i love you. jodie, the absolute heart of the team, seriously, you are just everyone’s biggest supporter (even when its for the dumbest ideas) and i know you are always ready to throw down if someone is struggling. you are simply the most loving people i have ever gotten the pleasure to know, and i hope, similar to ollie, you take this anniversary to catch a break, and by that i MEAN GO TO BED AT A HUMAN TIME. but seriously, you are the heart of team dumbass and we would not be as close of a team without you and your laughing fits bc you did something you know is gonna get both of us yelled at. i love you so much, thank you. and finally, kasey, who does not wish to be perceived but they don’t get that choice today. the fire in our hearts, and it’s not just a pyro joke. you are the first to spot problems, but always know the solution, to be able to fix an issue before it even becomes one. i am genuinely so proud of you, and everything that you do, you have been so important in helping hidden become what it is today, even if half of it is from us yelling at each other, only to end with everyone yelling at us for being The Worst. i wouldn’t want anyone else to be my partner for our patrol. thank you for always being so incredibly genuine and loving the moment you know someone needs that. i love you so much friend, you know that. now back to bullying all of you because this was too long, too much, but seriously. hidden, you don’t know how lucky you are. i barely even realize how lucky i am sometimes. nothing has been as rewarding as being your head admin. and i love each and every one of you. thank you for allowing me this space, for being the best group of people i have ever met. here to hidden’s 5th year, and every year after that! i love all of you.

24. what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for? being able to find joy in artwork and creating again! being able to finally build myself back up from being torn down constantly from art college has just been so gratifying. oh and i guess getting Of Rain & Snow back up off the ground!

26. fave colour and why? how bold of you to assume red! it's not like its my name or anything. that would have been the answer a few years ago but lately i've just really liked yellow. it's the color of my favourite flowers and is just a happy color <3

39. youtuber you’ve been obsessed with and why? a few! i really like the stream highlights from shenpai and therm. i like their vibes a lot! the former is one of the few youtubers i watch who's played lies of p and the latter has an insane playthrough of outerwilds hermitcraft season 10 has been a blast to watch. grian and goodtimeswithscar are my favourites there. i love the differing chaos both bring to the series and scar is just one of the most wholesome youtubers i've ever seen. i want to see how his zoo this season turns out!! my favourite youtuber of all time is stephenplays/stephenvlog. been watching him since middle school. i've met him and his wife at a convention once (i'm actually in one of the vlogs in the background!) and they're the absolute sweetest people. they're responsible for some of my favourite let's plays of all time: twilight princess and chulip. i rewatch chulip at least once a year. some of my favourite jokes and quotes i repeat come from them. please perceive the legendary thermodynamics clip.
