"Funny, really, but they're both actually just as tied to time travel as they are to space travel. Time and space are so inexorably linked, that when you teleport or use portals to travel even an inch away, you must also jump yourself forward in time to the same point in time. Now, normally, you can't travel backwards in time, unless you're aware of how to avoid various paradoxes. Thankfully, I have figured that part out, so there's no chance of us traveling back in time and you meeting your past selves." She explains happily. She really owes Elfilin for all of the knowledge she's accrued about this.

"Well, that makes sense. In many worlds, the light of the moon is only visible by the presence of the sun. As the moon is quite literally illuminated by the sun at night. Or perhaps a reflection is more accurate, a sign of the moon's phases." She muses aloud. The moon was important to the usage of Hydrophism, as it the great force behind the oceanic tides. Which, she is assuming Hornet doesn't know about. Ghost and Syltyr know about it, since they saw it on their last visit.

"Ya know what? Perhaps I should make it a night trip for all three of you!" She suggests with a grin. "And don't worry about being gone long. I've been practicing my portal magic and came up with a new version. It will allow me to bring you all back to your world mere moments after you left it!" She adds on. She would love to show them all the city of Arx at night!

The younger, smaller version of themselves just stared up in quiet but clear awe. They skitter around a bit, taking the larger vessel in all their details. When they ask them a question, they stand at attention and point at the approaching Radiance. "Mama." They speak in the void.

Radiance soon gets close, and the younger vessel hops over to them, happily splashing as they do so. The moth can't help but giggle at the sight. "Yes, yes, I know you love puddles and splashing them dear. But you don't run off like that again, alright?" She says gently kneeling down and petting their head. She then turns her attention to the older Ghost.

"Well, this is...interesting to see. You are, Ghost, right?" She asks, sounding somewhat confused and uncertain.

Blitz didn't really struggle with these guys. Their shots were easy to predict, and often went in wide patterns. Now, if there were more of them, that would be a problem! But, he manages to handle them fine. Summoning some throwing knives, and kicking them, while mixing them in with his shots. While he dealt with the aspids, he did catch a glimpse of Ghost...doing what they did. Whatever it was, it reminded him heavily of Stolas. Huh, is this what Reyna means when she goes off about how similar people and places can be?

"Eh, whatever. Headshot, bitch!" He shouts, shooting down the last aspid and killing it. With both the nest and remaining bugs dead, it seemed to be all clear. "Well, that was fucking easy." He says cocky. Why were they having trouble exactly?

It really was, and it fucking sucked how common it was. Honeslty, if he could, he'd put a bullet in each of their heads, and be done with them. Unfortunately, people like Paimon and Crimson weren't as easy to touch. His dad though, Cash, he could probably track him down and kill him. Either way, he followed Ghost back to the King's Station, and saw the area closed off.

"Yeah, yeah, watch how a pro handles an infestation like this." He says stretching. With that, he pulls out his gun and summons a second one too. Prepared, he heads into the netted area, and looks around for the aspids. Which, wasn't hard, they were stupid easy to spot flying around. He aims and starts blasting them out of the sky. Ghost can hear the sounds of gunfire going off as he does so.

Well, if Ghost didn't mind lending their aid and lowering the barrier. But they didn't like the look the king was giving. How bad was it, that they felt the need to give such a warning via expression? Regardless, they have permission, and nothing else stopping them beyond the perils of travel. When Syltyr is getting the nail, Slane pulls out the map they had from when they last came to this world.

"Alright, let us make our way down! Let's see, is there a Stagway Station in the area?" Slane hums as he heads out and looks over the map.

The other three wave good bye to Clover and the moss creep pet. Leni was a bit sad, they would have liked to learn more about the little creature.

Slane nods to Syltyr. "I'm certain. If she wishes to hide away, we will simply have to force her out. As my mother would likely say 'She must atone for the sins of her actions'. She played a part in the tragedy of Hallownest. Hiding away from it is not only ill befitting a queen, but also cruel of a mother. Thus, I will make sure you get your audience with her." He promises.

"Yeah! If it's a magic barrier, I bet Leni could figure out a way through it! And if not that, then I'll just smash it apart!" Rezna boasts, ready to get going already.

"If I can at least get close to examine if, I can determine what the magic conduct it might be. With that, I should be able to find a workaround." Leni muses, ready to do what he can to help out Syltyr with this.

"It might not even really be there, ya know? Who knows, we gotta at least get closer to her before we decide what we gotta do." Pendro says smiling softly.

"It's settled then. Sir Syltyr, please make preparations to leave as soon as possible!" Slane states determined.

Siva hums. ��Lack essence…I wonder if that’s necessarily true.” She muses as she snatches a mote of Void from around Ghost. “I can see these with my Source vision. I believe I’ll just take this one as a sample to study back on the surface. Wendigo, let’s go, we can teleport back.” She says. She then looks to Hollow. “And when you return, I would personally like to speak with you, Hollow.” She adds.

Wendigo nods, taking Siva’s hand. “Safe journey, my lady, King Ghost, Knight Hollow.” She says bowing her head, before the two teleport back to the surface.

Reyna watches as the two leave, then looks back to Ghost. “We can teleport safely to any place we have been previously. Though it requires a significant amount of power, Wendigo and Siva are quite capable in that right. Either way, I am curious as to what she’ll find about your Void. She never was one to simply roll over and accept answers while she has questions.” She muses. As for why she wanted to talk to Hollow, she already had an idea as to why. “With that done, I believe we are ready to teleport further down.” She says, holding Radi close, and having a magic field keep her safe, in case the void Ghost uses causes a reaction.

Ghost blinks and shrugs a bit, unsure themself actually. It wasn’t like the Void motes looked like Essence to them after all. Besides that they were only recently ascended to being a god as well. They were going off knowledge that the Void itself had given them along with their own research. They didn’t mind that Siva took a sample since it may even give them a better answer. 

Hollow meanwhile chirps a bit in confusion as to why Siva wanted to speak with them specifically. It made their plates twitch in mild anxiety but outwardly they remained looking calm and almost still like a statue. Like how they were trained their entire childhood to be. Ghost gives their twin a sympathetic glance but knew from past experiences that Hollow wasn’t aware of the habit themself. Instead the pair bow to the ladies before they teleport away. The monarch then looks to Reyna and nods.

“That’s good that they won’t get lost getting back then. Hopefully they’ll find the children have been behaving,” there’s a chuckle from them at that statement knowing how wild their children used to be. At the suggestion of teleporting the monarch nods and beckons them all to come closer. “Alright, don’t let go during this or I can’t guarantee where you’ll land.” They take the other’s hands, Hollow being used to this by now looked rather calm. Once everyone is ready it only takes a moment for Ghost to focus on their destination before they appear there in a blink. The Void that surrounded them was cold and beyond black with the feeling of thousands of eyes watching them at once before the sensation stops after that brief moment. 

The area itself that they land in is nothing grand, in fact it was more a tomb than a place one expected to find a goddess of life. There were several mantis corpses piled at the entrance to the room with evidences of a great battle. There was one lone body still there of a white bug clutching her weapon even in death, the cause apparent from the many injuries she’d sustained in the great battle. She was leaned against a great cocoon, taller than both Ghost and Hollow, with glowing white roots coming from it and up in the soil above and below. Ghost pauses to give the fallen knight a moment of silence while Hollow actually appears shocked and mournful. This was their first time learning the fate of one of the Five Great Knights of Hallownest... Their teacher... The closest thing they’d had to friends. 

“... I’ve been unable to reach this sanctuary after growing so she has not had a proper burial... For that I apologize... Dryya, you guard your mistress even in death.” Ghost says it softly and with a fair amount of remorse before turning to their twin to wrap an arm around their shaking shoulders. While Hollow has seen and was used to death they weren’t used to it being those they’d been close to. It was hitting them harder than expected.

Reyna hums. The way they talk about ‘Root’, she can’t help but wonder who it is. Hollow seems to care about them greatly, and even Ghost seemed somewhat perturbed. Regardless she initially begins following them before Unn speaks to her. She listens to Unn’s warning and nods sadly.

“…I understand. I had a similar issue when I was obtaining the power I have now.” She says gently petting the head of the little ball of fluff in her arms. “I wouldn’t that to happen to her. She deserves a chance to live a better life.” She says softly, before looking at Unn. “And…if she ever needs help, can you please help guide her when I cannot?” She asks with a respectful curtsy.

The goddess watches as Ghost begins to lead the group away again being respectful of Unn’s desire to speak with Reyna more privately, though they are careful to not go too far ahead. Ghost meanwhile pauses just outside of Unn’s chamber with the others to pull out their map so that they could map out the fastest course to their goal, Hollow standing nearby on guard though obviously ready to head out.

Unn switches her attention back to Reyna and listens to the request. She hums softly, debating it in her mind before finally nodding in agreement. “I shall do what I can... Take care Reyna... And do keep an eye on those two... While I do not bemoan the Root for what she took from me.... She may hurt those two with just as little care.... Goodbye for now...” With that the slug goddess slipped back into the acid to return to her recovery. Ghost looked over at the commotion and noticing that Reyna and Radi were now alone they trill and beckon them over. 

Once she’s closer Ghost holds up the map, “I believe I figured out the best route to the Root... There will be some narrow passages I’m afraid that neither me nor Hollow can fit through with our new height. I have been there before and could teleport us there in small groups, if that sounds doable for now? I could take you, Radi, and Wendigo then Siva and Hollow next.”

"Hmm, I see. I suppose we should try and keep the windows shuddered when you arrive. Or we could try a night time visit..." She muses before realizing something. "Now that I think about it, have any of you ever seen the moon? I know you don't have a sun, and I know why, but what about that?" She asks them. She hadn't thought of it, since she could fairly fine in these places. But there hasn't been any sight of the moon ever and she's curious now.

"Yeah. We just gotta keep getting better, and stronger!" Rezna proclaims.

"We'll learn our limits, and simply push them." Pendro chimes in.

"Indeed. I failed my personal goal, even though I completed the mission. After all, I cannot always rely on my dragon form to get me out of a bad situation. Unfortunately, pinned by a larger stronger foe dripping poisonous acid from its jaw was a bad combination." Slane adds in.

"It's alright dear. You still are doing well using your abilities regardless of your dragon form." Reyna says smiling softly. His brothers nod in agreement, smiling at him.

"Well, he is ashamed as he said one of the reasons he wished to take part in this, was to prove he could manage a mission without changing into his dragon form. He feels like it can make him too complacent if he relies on it too much." She explains to Hornet.

"Indeed. I failed my personal goal, even though I completed the mission. After all, I cannot always rely on my dragon form to get me out of a bad situation. Unfortunately, pinned by a larger stronger foe dripping poisonous acid from its jaw was a bad combination." Slane adds in.

"It's alright dear. You still are doing well using your abilities regardless of your dragon form." Reyna says smiling softly. His brothers nod in agreement, smiling at him.

Reyna just seems to realize what shape Hornet is in. "Oh goodness, I am so sorry, I didn't notice your injuries!" She says before healing up Hornet next. It doesn't just heal her wounds, but her stiffness fades away, as the water relaxes her tension and stress away. She then turns to look at Slane. "I suppose then you used your Dragon Form, since your sword and shield are obviously in poor condition?" She asks him to which he nods.

"Never expected to have to use it like that. I am a bit ashamed in my own lack of readiness for this, but I suppose we won in the end, so that is what counts." Slane says.

"It was cool! I knew your dragon form was strong, but it's like you're on a whole nother level with it!" Rezna says excitedly. The rest of his brothers nod in agreement, causing Slane to look embarrassed.

Reyna turns to Ghost. "Well, that is unfortunate. At the very least, they still live. You all did well in saving them." She says smiling at the group.

Slane was on the back of the stag, trying to use healing magic to stimy the bleeding. His throat would heal soon enough, it just took a bit out of him. He couldn't just ignore the hurt that Hornet's sibling put them through though. Thankfully, they make it back, along with his brothers flying in behind him.

When Reyna sees the others rush in alongside Hornet, she's by her children. She can tell what Slane did, with his hand over his throat. Holding a hand out, glowing the same color Slane's eyes were earlier, she heals his throat.

"I don't know what happened that required you to speak in Void. But please, do be careful in the future, alright? The method you used is a much more forceful means, and you should be careful." She says to him. Slane just nods quietly. "I'm proud of you though, because it shows how much you're willing to push yourself for the sake of others." She adds smiling softly.
