As much as this Avalon plotline creeps me out, I actually think besides the awkward intro to it, it's a really good one to have. Especially towards a show geared towards children

If I saw a teacher interact with his 17 yo student the way Avalon interacts with Bloom it would set off massive alarm bells for me. He singles her out. Makes her feel special. Mature. He's entirely too friendly with her

Obviously in this show he's part of some higher evil but his actual tactics are the same of a real life predator. Especially with how often this behavior is romanticized in media these days, I think it's great that they're associating it with a villain here

I've been pretty critical of this whole pixie thing so far. Mostly cause, even the ones I like, feel tacked onto the plot and eat up screentime. But in this plot Digit being there for Tecna to bounce off of actually helps

Tho it would have also been cool to instead have 2 of the Winx be suspicious if only to develop more one-on-one dynamics, I do also really like this

Sorry more rambling thoughts but another thing ive been bitching about in s2 is less friendship time with the girls and I thought maybe it was the writers losing their touch BUT

That flashback totally showed the s1 dynamic. Brief as it was. So they do still know how to write that. That combined with Avalon obviously working towards isolating Bloom makes me think maybe the Winx being less close this season is an intentional plot point
