there's a new Disney Fairies book where Tinker Bell discovers a dystopian, crime-ridden city full of fairies who've had an industrial revolution and discovered capitalism!! this is the best, weirdest children's franchise on the planet

#I for one am and forever will be a fan of the ORIGINAL Tinker Bell books #(as in the canonically post-apocalyptic ones where world-ending disasters happened all the time and fairies kept randomly dying)#but this is amazing too #it's such an insane blend of Tinker Bell whimsy and dystopian tropes #there's like an evil dystopian factory but it's powered by children's dreams #the steampunk fairies are called Flutterpunks #god I can't wait to read that inexplicable fairy queen romance novel they're putting out this winter. how do they come up with this
