What would have changed if yue had played all the routes before she died
A lot. It would have changed A LOT.
Like, for one, Yue would know EXACTLY who she was related to the moment she saw that Sangshen had six ears. And when Sangshen told Yue about her tragic backstory and her dead little brother? Well, Yue did some scheming to make Sangshen aware of a certain six-eared warrior serving the infamous Monkey King.
And, just like that, the Zodiac Monkey Clan reached out to Flower Fruit Mountain requesting the Six-eared Macaque to visit his sister. Wukong came too. While neither was very impressed by the Clan, they both adored Sangshen and Yue. They were also friendly with Shanzha (literally the only decent person in the clan and a fellow Yue enthusiast). The timing also had them cross paths with the Red-Buttocked Baboon and the Long-Armed Gibbon, who were watching after Yue.
Wukong and Macaque would play an active role in Yue's life, even bringing her over to FFM with them for a visit (at Yishan's insistence.) During this period, Yue would play matchmaker. Even though the two were friendly with her Aunt Shanzha, she couldn't risk any chances. So the Truth Route HAD to be triggered.
Sangshen passes away like in canon unfortunately. She leaves Yue in Macaque’s care since there’s no way she’s leaving her in Yishan’s. Macaque carried her all the way home after the funeral and Wukong welcomed them home with open arms. It was bittersweet.
Not long after Yue left for FFM permanently, RinRin was pulled out of Diyu by Shanzha. It was love at first sight for the both of them. Since she heard Macaque complain about her, Shanzha recognized RinRin instantly and made arrangements to get her back home. At the meantime, they had this cute little whirlwind romance/situationship filled with looks of longing and almost kisses. Then, Shanzha let her go back to FFM and remained in LoES.
You’d expect some drama but no, there wasn’t. RinRin kinda breaks up with Wukong point blank the moment she returned and all but tells him to kiss Macaque already (he does). Then, she goes and mopes in a hut. She only comes out whenever Shanzha visits Yue (and her) every year. They pine and flirt and sigh after each other. Iceflower becomes Shadowpeach 2.0 and it drives FFM crazy.
When the Otome Game story rolls around, Shanzha ends up being the bride but everyone is significantly more chill about it.
Wukong: Look, I don't know what Heaven is scheming but - Oh hai, it's you. You're a bit early in your annual visit to see Yue.
Shanzha, tied up and in a wedding dress: Believe me, if this was planned I'd be here with presents.
Since Heaven states that Shanzha was a bride for the ruler of FFM (a fact Yue points out), RinRin takes the chance to reclaim her previous Queen status solely to snatch Shanzha from the palanquin and run off with her.
RinRin, cackling like a gremlin: Wife, wife, wife!
Not to be outdone, Wukong proposes to Macaque and suggests a Spring Wedding.
Some drama with Azure happens later but that’s not important. (Or is it?)

COD AU: Intro
AN: I love this. I have so many thoughts in my head. So many it’s killing me inside. Please enable me. God I hope at least one of you likes this enough to talk to me about it. To hc, to literally just share my words with. And yes…. There is a very heavy Ghost/romance element… but I’m totally not against picturing the other options ahaha.
So I’ve been thinking….
An AU where everyone needs to lay low for a while. Maybe they’re all compromised and someone with enough power and money shows interest to take out the 141 forever. And Laswell, being the problem solver that she is, suggests a safe house of someone close to her. Someone who can be trusted. Not just to provide somewhere physically safe, but also keep a close eye on the team while they’re -somewhat- forcibly being cut off from the world.
So the team are flighted into the middle of god-knows-where in the mountains. A tiny little town -if you can call it that- and they meet their contact.
Not only a girl… but civilian.
She refers to Laswell as Aunt Kate and the Captain and Uncle John. Sweet as can be, and so damn helpful that it’s almost infuriating. Especially to Ghost. She hasn’t seen a single thing about them other than what Laswell has offered, and really appears like she couldn’t care less about opening her house up to them. A house just big enough to fit all four men.
Ghost isn’t sure about the whole thing. It feels wrong being holed up in the deep holler of an Appalachian mountain with a girl not twenty-five. Like some kind of fucked-up movie he wasn’t aware of being cast for. It’s all too strange walking inside her house and seeing photos on the walls, a massive rack of cast iron skillets and pots hanging above her kitchen island, and the way she looks at Price so fondly.
Uncle John…
Something about it rubs him wrong. There’s got to be history there… at least enough for her to feel the right to call Price that. But he’s never heard of her before. And this kind of arrangement isn’t one to taken lightly. There are people hunting the 141… A threat so well documented that they couldn’t even just turn a blind eye and wait for the smoke to clear.
The sweet thing doesn’t notice Ghost’s apprehension.
But she does recognize Price’s excitement in seeing her, as well as his slight disappointment that she’d offered to do this. She’s too good to get involved in matters of war, and he’s honestly surprised that Kate let you. But then again, there could only be so much disappointment he could find in seeing his goddaughter. And funnily enough, there’s a sense of relief he has in seeing how well she’s done for herself since he saw her last.
Intelligent, scarily so. But not in an overt way. He can see it in the way she collects rainwater for watering the little garden out back, and the pistol safe tucked under her bed with a thumbprint scanner. He notices the small town she’d bought her home in, and the relatively tight community. Maybe a little old-fashioned… but it’s good in case something goes wrong. And right now, it’s paying off.
Unbelievably welcoming too… but Kate and John always knew there’d come a day when she’d get a chance to ‘mother’ someone. And now she’d have four men to do exactly that for. Even from day one, she’s already made trips to the store, rearranged her whole home, and bought god-knows-what in anticipation for their arrival.
What’s each of your favorite food, I’ll make lists so I never run out of dinner ideas.
Any preferences on how I should come and go around my the house? I don’t want to startle anyone.
Did you need anything you didn’t bring? If I can’t get it in town or online I’ll text Aunt Kate and have her get it…
She’s nearly frantic to get them settled, and everyone reacts in a muted tone of shock save for Price. He’s well-aware thanks to Kate about how excited she is… something about wanting to prove herself. And Jesus if it doesn’t make Price feel a bittersweet burn in his chest as he introduces her to the others. Seeing her wide eyes examining all of them without the slightest hesitation. Memorizing names and faces, and shaking massive, gloved, hands without missing a beat.
She’s got Soap wrapped around her finger on instant. Maybe it’s a big-brother feeling. One like Price holds for her. Since she’s younger than him -unlike his own sisters- there’s something of a chance to be one for a while. Soap almost instantly takes to her Appalachian lilt and bright smile. They’re both too sweet for their own good at times… and Price can tell right away there won’t be a knife sharp enough to cut the two of them apart after this.
Gaz is quietly polite is a way only he can be. Meticulously trying to stay out of her way as she flutters about. Wanting to help her out, but also downright flustered when she demands she be the one to carry their bags to their rooms. It’s a clear sign he’s not used to it… A woman being this damn sweet and intent on ‘helping’ a man. But he takes it in stride. Learning how to help without stepping on her decidedly ‘southern comfort’ style of catering to them. And god if Price doesn’t have to chew the tip of his cigar when she gets on his ass about something. The poor sod looks like a kicked puppy… and he’s certain she’ll end up training him with due time.
Christ above. If Ghost isn’t the most difficult bastard to deal with initially.
He’s much more sour than typical. Lurking in corners, and unable to settle down anywhere for more than an hour. He looks caged in by the comfortable couch and throw blankets. Swallowed by her pleasantly creaky porch swing and sun-couch on the wraparound. Not even her well-used garage housing an old Fold flatbed makes a good refuge for Ghost. She’s all encompassing in a way he can’t come to terms with easily.
Price sees her trying the hardest with him.
The way her voice lowers when addressing him. How she makes a conscious effort to tiptoe around the house after 10pm because that’s when he shuts himself inside his bedroom… She doesn’t exactly know he never sleeps. Dinners are often served close to the time he finally realizes he’s got to come back inside the house… and without fail, she can be found sitting near him.
Not friendly by any means.
But more like a girl who’s found an old bait-dog at the pound and can’t leave well-enough alone. Sitting with her back it to and tossing treats over her shoulder. Hoping silently that the old, scarred, dog will come around. Damn near predatory in a sweet kind of way. Price can tell she means well. She can see the same thing everyone else on the team can… and she’s just going about it her way.
She’s good like that. Maybe a little too good.
But John can’t deny he enjoys seeing it. All of it really. The way she dotes on them individually. Consistently. Hell, she even does their laundry and bought separate baskets to keep things neat and tidy. The fridges -yes… multiple- all are set with their preferences in drinks, and she’s scarily observant when things need replaced. Toothpaste… shoelaces… socks… there’s no missing anything. Brands and sizes don’t seem to be a problem either, to some shock and mortification.
Uncle John, what’s Soap mean when he says he misses Irn-Bru?
His quick and unconcerned explanation goes without another notice… until he sees Johnny taking a long drink from a bottle of it while sitting on a rocking chair on the back porch watching some hummingbirds fight over richly dyed sugar water.
John’s often preoccupied with worrying about the plans of those head-hunting them and what Kate’s doing behind the scenes in the meantime. But it’s clear there’s nothing concerning his goddaughter but whether or not they’re all fed, warm, and comfortable in her house…
Whether Ghost likes it or not.
Comments are so heavily appreciated on this… I want to make this more of what I talk about & I can’t keep it all on a notebook under my bed.

Phoenixeclipse - Forgotten AU
A dark force takes Phoenix away, making it appear as if she died. This takes place after the Journey To The West. She isn't brought back to her own world but rather she is taken to a place known as the void.
Sun Wukong and Macaque don't care about humans and stay on their island away from everyone else. Occasionally, I'm going to the city to make a mess to make sure Mk isn't going soft since he decided to move to the city. They also go to Camel Ridge to visit with their old friends. (All after 5 years of mourning)
She wants nothing more than to get back home to her mates Sun Wukong and Macaque and her cubs Xiaotian, Bao and Tao. However the longer she remains in the void the more she forgets about her life and the people she cared about.
It gets worse when she finds out she is pregnant with the Triplets. In order to protect them, she stays in the least dangerous part of the Void. The Void Mountain where almost nothing roams and only lush greenery is found.
However, the mountain has long and harsh winters. She is unable to stay awake and protect her own cubs. They are found by an ice demon (Crystal) who watches the children during the winter, the cubs who don't hibernate like their mother.
As they grow older, they learn more about their mother and their 'aunt' Crystal. Mostly, their mother, they notice, is slowly losing more and more of her memories the longer she stays within the Void.
>>> An is the youngest and nearly died when she was born. Her body is rather fragile for a monkey demon but still stronger than a human. She is persistent and doesn't take no for an answer when it comes to her family's safety. She's kind and calm with those who are nice to her and loves to simply sit back and relax or study.
So they plot to get her out. The only way to get out of the Void is to go through the King, who immediately refuses and sends them away. An is persistent, refusing to take no for an answer, and comes back again and again.
Finally, the King agrees if she defeats one of his gladiators. But if she loses, she would become one of his slaves. She wins and is sent out of the Void, alone.
So she needs to find a way back and a way to get the rest of her family out. During this time, she goes to Megopolis, where she finds a small noodle shop. There is a monkey demon like herself who is working, his name is Mk and he's so nice to her.
She just needs to find a way to ask for his help. Or maybe she shouldn't drag him into her problems. Too bad she doesn't have much of a choice when he finds out she is basically homeless.
>>>
>>> Jing is the second youngest and is protective and dangerous. She will fight anyone and anything to protect her family. If she gets hurt in a fight, she won't stop until she's either unconscious or dead.
Jing refuses to leave her mom's side after the first time they go to the King. She is protective of her mother, who barely remembered them when they returned to her. She is persistent that she won't leave her alone again.
She is visious to anyone who enters the mountain that she doesn't know or approve of. She also grows a loathing towards her Dad and Baba, who she has never met. She thinks that they abandoned them because her mom doesn't know what happened to them.
When An goes missing, she is distraught and tries to find clues, but in the end, finds nothing. She can't bring herself to leave the mountain away from her mother and thinks that her sister is dead.
>>>
>>> Meihua is the oldest still. She is protective of her siblings and is the most observant of them, too. She takes meticulous care of her fur and is persistent when it comes to grooming her sisters.
Meihua goes searching for her sister in depth and runs into a dangerous individual. The White Bone Spirit is ruthless and cruel, but even so Meihua stands her own rather well against her. She nearly kills her when she falls into a trap.
Her neck is severed, and she passes away. When she wakes up in the underworld, she doesn't take it lightly and actually drags herself out with the help of someone.
When she gets out she is stuck in the form of a Shadow. Her body was put back together with a golden scar around her throat where she was injured. But her body was also possessed by the White Bone Spirit who used it and her power to escape the void through the shadows.
She is fuming, to say the least, but doesn't confront her. Instead, she goes to look for her sister. She finds her rather quickly with her six ears in the city of Megopolis in a small noodleshop. She also finds another Monkey demon named MK (who covers up his ears and eyes with a glamour)
>>>
Mk or Xiaotian was in shock to find a monkey demon in the city. Most preferred the forests or the mountains where they didn't have to deal with humans or other demons. His shock is turned to excitement at the young demoness who couldn't have been more than 15.
He is dense and doesn't use his golden eyes of truth, so he doesn't see her true form through her glamour. He takes her in with the help of Mei when they find out she's basically homeless by seeing her sleeping in an alleyway.
He even helps her get a job with Pigsy. She seems more interested in studying with Tang, but he likes to drag her out on deliveries, though. She's like a little sister to him! How can he not want to get to know her a little bit!
>>>
Tao is the first to find out about An from Mk. On a night that his brother decided to stay in town, instead of returning to the mountain, he decided to go into town. His first plan was to spook his brother, a plan that goes straight out of the window.
He goes into the apartment above the piglet's noodle shop, intending to scare his brother but instead sees a young female monkey demob. He is confused by this new addition to his older brother's found family. He also rather quickly takes a liking to her because she reminds him so much of his mother.
He likes to spook her but gets annoyed because it's hard to. She has a good sense of hearing and can easily tell he's there before he even says anything.
He'll have to tell Bao about her.
>>>
Bao meets her second and is quite shocked, to say the least. His first instinct is to use his gold vision on her. He does. He is in shock when he sees her from her six ears, golden eyes and the roses decorating her hair he doesn't know how to react.
She is their sister, but how? That would only mean. But they saw her die. What the hell is going on!? Time travel? It had to be, but how could it be time travel? Unless their mother gets reincarnated, but she wouldn't be able to be older than 15 since that's how long it's been since she died.
He needs to tell Dad and Baba, No! He needs to make a plan first. And he needs to find out if this is real to begin with. Neither of his brothers sensed anything off so maybe his gold vision needs work. Yeah. That had to be it.
He was just going crazy. Wait, why does she have a scar across her arm? And is she shadow moving? He is definitely going crazy.
>>>
(And oh my word I have put these kids through so much in this au. This is the au where I actually figured out their personalities mostly)

They didn't know we were seeds
chapter 24
cw: murder, past sexual assault, eugenics, mentions of minor primal kink, drugging, prostitution and abuse
taglist: @justrainandcoffee @emotionalcadaver @peakyswritings
Eva stares at the white rose bush as if she could see the future in its perfect white petals. In less than two weeks they had planned this and only time would tell if they would pull it off.
“If the business with the pigs gets resolved today, I’ll come back for Laurie. Jack’s new badge worked.” Eva half-lies to her aunt who doesn’t pry despite seeing through her.
Laurie was at school and would be cared for by her aunt who had become accustomed to her niece’s lying.
The Rebel knows she has the calming pills the Doctor has given her for her anxiety, but she refuses to take them like she refuses the tequila calling her name. She needs to be completely sober for this, there is no room for failure.
If they fail.
Eva doesn’t want to even think what sort of fresh horrors will be unleashed if they do.
The weather will take a turn for the worse up north. The Victor’s Village is more at the center with a warmer and wetter climate, doesn’t get much snow if any like the southern villages where it’s never cold only in the mountains in the southwest. But the north was unpredictable, hot sun or blistering colds.
Bad weather means Jack can stay longer, means coffee for two and Laurie sandwiched between the two of them because his daddy is never home that long.
This time it means Campbell’s shit out of luck.
The wild hogs would eat him in the ruins between 2 and 10, Beetee would ensure the footage showing him coming here would be erased even if it wouldn’t be on the books either way. His lackeys would be blamed but they were so like him the world would be better with them dead too.
For extra measure the fence in 10 would be broken to allow the wild animals to come here and give them an alibi. The herd closest to them had gone as far as the river that began in 2 and ended in 11, who knows where the proof of his demise will end up.
All she has to do is to meet Jack in town, pretend nothing is going on and lead Campbell to the farm.
Except in the riot gear, Eva has no idea which faceless man is him.
This time she is not armed with her brass knuckles and steel toe boots; this time she carries a knife in her sleeve.
They were to meet near the cantina where the peacekeepers used to loiter around and now are forbidden from setting foot there. But they still went, in plain clothes and often just paying the prostitutes there for their usual services in the alley or the abandoned apartment next to it.
No matter how heavy Campbell’s boot is on their necks, life goes on.
Eva pays for a bottle of whiskey ---for Jack who prefers it--- drinks a shot of tequila for her nerves and finds not one, but two Peacekeepers tailing her when she leaves the bar.
One was Jack, one was Campbell’s lackey.
Only Jack would know where to meet her, so she weaves her way through the back alleys she knows better than them and reaches the meeting point only to be caught by the arm by one of them.
The Victor in her panic reveals the knife and places its edge in the only unarmored part of the uniform: the officer’s neck.
“You have no idea how that turns me on.” Jack’s all-too-familiar voice provides a dizzying sort of relief.
“It’s you.” The woman drops her knife with a relieved sight and rolled her eyes at her husband.
“Make sure you have your pills; I’m going to fuck you until the cows come home once this is over.” Jack enjoys games, the instinct of a born hunter combined with being a professional killer since his tweens somehow resulted in a man who likes chasing her around town with the intention of fucking as a reward. If they were to be put in an arena again, he’d probably find it as arousing as he finds being held at knifepoint by her.
“Your mother will be there, aren’t you worried she might hear us?” she asks handing him the bottle of whiskey she had intended to smash against his head had he been the other man.
“Not if we do it in the barn again.” He takes off his helmet, knowing her discomfort won’t end unless she can see his face and reveals that grin she could see the moment he opened his trap. “Are you ready for the fun part, doll?”
Atia Nelson was no stranger to waiting.
Whether it was waiting to finish her degree, waiting for the pregnancy test to come back positive and waiting twelve years to learn the names of her birth parents.
Atia Nelson was no blood relation to the Plinths nor Servilla’s sister, who adopted her after her biological children were disposed of by Strabo Plinth’s heir, Coriolanus Snow.
Something rather obvious given Servilla descends from the same ethnic group those in 10 do and Atia has hair as red as their district color. Something that disqualified her from the inheritance Snow was supposed to split with Strabo’s nephews by marriage and kept her alive after the uninvestigated deaths of Junius, Balbos and Attius.
Atia was born to a prostitute frequented by Peacekeepers both grunts and officers alike and because Pompeia couldn’t afford to raise any of the children she had, gave her up at birth.
She was the youngest, the last of many redhaired children whose fathers were unlisted in their birth certificates and appeared in the same orphanage in the main city. No one knows what happened to Pompeia after Atia was born and adopted by Selene Nelson and until Atia Nelson turned twelve years old, she didn’t even know her name.
Pompeia Ockerman had only an unmarked grave and a reputation. Her beauty had made her a sought-after commodity for the men recruited into Peacekeeper Corps and her poverty easy to exploit.
Atia’s father was an officer from an old family in the Capitol, and when Pompeia begged him to claim his own child, he left her in the dust because the law forbids capitol citizen to recognize a child or marry someone from the districts, so the line above father will always remain empty.
Castrum ‘Chester’ Campbell believed it was her whore mother’s blood that tainted Jack and resulted into becoming a petty criminal whe should have been culled before he was born.
‘But what was there to expect when his mother followed in Pompeia’s footsteps?’ he had sneered at her because children born from a Capitol citizen and a District citizen were seen as abominations to his ilk and every fuck up in her life seen as inevitable thanks to it.
As if being born from the so-called right stock didn’t make Campbell anything less than a monster.
And just like the men who exploited Pompeia because they could, he convinced her the only way her boy could have his charges dropped was if she submitted to him.
She never told her children, not even her mother and her then girlfriend. But Jack had seen the bruises, seen the fear in her eyes and the night before his reaping he promised no one would ever hurt them again.
And now Atia Nelson waits for Chester Campbell to come into the farmhouse expecting to lay a trap for her son.
He comes alone, a mistake on his part. After all, this was just to provide the proof for the crime and take the glory for himself.
“Been long time, hasn’t it?” Atia smiles and bids him to join her for tea.
“Fifteen years and now the defect has bred a different sort of abomination. Must run in his blood.” He sits, the gun inside his coat loaded and within reach knowing she isn’t easy prey. Not like last time. “The boy will die on his twelfth year just like your other grandchild did.”
He drinks the tea, a sleeping tea Eva brewed strong enough to put him under and leave him to die near dried up river between their districts. It would taste the same as any of her homebrewed teas and so he drinks the magnolia tea not knowing Atia has crushed a sedative in it just for him.
The sedative lasts about eight hours, she’s used them since that night Campbell raped her and after the Games took Jack's peace of mind, her Laurie and sweet little Gina from her, she hasn’t stopped. Now they serve a better use than easing her mind enough to let her sleep.
“Dear me, I think I made it too strong for you, didn’t I?” the redhead pretends this is a social call as her companion slumps to the floor as it all kicks in. Campbell can’t even reach for the gun or the communicator to alert his men. Not that it would have worked anyways. Atia has waited fifteen years to kill this bastard.
By the time her son and his wife arrive, he’s been tied and bundled up in the state-issued fabric used for Peacekeeper’s tents.
“You missed all the fun, kids.” She smiles as she makes sure the bastard is wrapped tight enough for the wild animals that will feast on him until he dies. The reports on the wild hogs say they ate a man in less than ten minutes, Atia hopes they take their sweet time with the good major.
It’s dawn when they return from their trip to the dried up river and the three of them share the whiskey on the porch as Chester Campbell exits the stage forever.
Atia knows the ones to face punishment for this will be Jack and Eva. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out what the Quarter Quell’s twist will be.
“13 has control of a hovercraft in 2, when the games happen, I will make sure Laurie and the rest of the family are on it or I won’t let it leave the Mountain.” Because she will kill Plutarch Heavensbee herself if they aren’t on that plane.

Once Upon a Time 4x06 "Family Business" Review
We learn a little more about the Snow Queen’s plans and about her past with Emma. And apparently Belle and Anna knew each other but Belle has kept it a secret from Elsa because she’s ashamed that she wanted her memories more than saving a girl she’d just met. So apparently shame is a big deterrent in not helping save Anna this time too.
Summary: The Snow Queen leads our heroes on a chase so they can see that she actually cared for Emma at one point. In the past, Belle can’t remember how her mother died in an Ogre attack, so she goes to Arendelle to visit the Rock Trolls and meets Princess Anna who is looking for information on her Aunt Ingrid.
Opening: Ice Cream Truck
New Characters:
Belle’s Mother (Colette): First off, I really thought Belle’s mother would get more air time in this episode, considering she’s played by Frances O’Connor (known for Mansfield Park, AI, The Importance of Being Earnest), but alas, she’s killed off pretty quickly. We do see where Belle gets her love of reading from, as they both try to get priceless books out of the library before the Ogre attacks them. They end up hiding under a table, and I’m confused about how he finds them. Does he hear them, because it was established that Ogres were blind back in Lady of the Lake. However he figured out where they were, Colette does not end up making it through the attack.
Character Observations:
Belle: In the past, Belle and her mother are attacked in their library by an Ogre. I get that there are priceless books in there (or in Belle’s case, the book that she remembers her mother first reading to her), but Ogres are attacking. You can come back for the books once they leave! Belle and her mother get trapped under a table and the last thing Belle remembers is the Ogre lifting the table off them and yelling in their faces. Belle awakens to find her mother is dead and she can’t remember how she died (I’m guessing an Ogre killed her). Belle is insistent in trying to recover her memories, but her father doesn’t think that’s a good idea. She tells him about magical beings who can restore memories, but he brings up the whole ‘All magic comes with a price’ line and tells her she is not to leave. Belle makes up her mind to go to Arendelle anyway, where she meets Anna at Oaken’s. Anna also happens to be going to see the Rock Trolls, so they decide to go together. They discuss the fact that they both lost their mothers, and when Anna slips trying to get up the mountain, Belle discovers the hat box (that she stole from Rumple in The Apprentice). Anna won’t give much away to Belle about the evil wizard she stole it from, just tells her she hopes she never meets him. Well, Anna, maybe if you’d given Belle a hint, she wouldn’t be married to him now! Somehow, despite the fact that they could barely make it up the first rock, they get to the top to the Rock Trolls. Grand Pabbie pulls the memory from Belle’s consciousness and puts it in a stone which he tells her to brew in tea at the place where she lost her memory (nice plot point so she can’t brew it right away), and when she drinks the tea she’ll remember what happened to her mother. On the way back down the mountain they get caught up in a storm. Anna is convinced it’s her Aunt Ingrid. When Belle asks what she’s going to do about it, Anna pulls out the hat box again and says she’s going to take her aunt’s magic. And that’s when a big gust of wind comes, knocking the memory stone out of Belle’s hand, and knocking Anna off the trail so she’s hanging off the edge of the mountain. Belle tries to go for the stone first, but it’s knocked off the edge and shatters. Then she tries to get Anna, but Anna falls. Belle witnesses the Snow Queen poof Anna away. Belle returns home and tells her father she didn’t find what she was looking for and her trip was a huge mistake. Maurice finally tells Belle what happened. That her mother stood in the path of the Ogre while the guards pulled Belle to safety, and her mother was killed before the guards could get back. Maurice tells her the war isn’t going well, and Belle suggests calling upon a powerful wizard she read about (not putting together that this might be the same wizard Anna was warning her about). Maurice knows who she is talking about and doesn’t want to call him, but Belle thinks it’s their only choice so they can win the war and so she can be a hero like her mother.
Meanwhile, in Storybrooke, Belle is keeping a secret that she knew Anna back in their realm. Elsa wants to research Arendelle in the library with Belle, which is making her very uncomfortable. Elsa starts having a crisis of faith about finding Anna, but Belle tells her she will find Anna, but she looks very guilty about the whole thing. Belle decides the best thing to do is go to the Snow Queen’s hideout, and ‘commands’ Rumple to take her to her lair using the dagger. When they get there, Rumple tells Belle that the Snow Queen isn’t there, but she’s okay with that. She’s looking for the hat to strip someone of their powers! Too bad she doesn’t know Rumple hid it away at the shop, would’ve saved her a trip. Rumple wonders why Belle is helping a stranger. She gives him the excuse that a hero always helps people. She makes Rumple keep watch while she goes inside to look for the hat box. Instead, she hears someone calling for her from behind a covered mirror. When she takes the sheet off, it’s her reflection, but it tells her things she doesn’t want to hear. Basically, all her insecurities, like that Rumple doesn’t really trust her and he didn’t give her the real dagger (listen to the mirror, Belle). Rumple comes in, warning Bell they have to leave since the Snow Queen is coming. She lashes out and cuts him with the dagger before he poofs them back to the shop. Belle starts to believe what mirror Belle said about the dagger, since she had commanded Rumple to stay outside. He gets around that by saying she said to keep watch, and since the Snow Queen was coming back, he was allowed to go in and get her. Belle breaks down when she sees she has cut him and tells him all the awful things the mirror told her. Rumple assures her none of it is true. Belle confesses that Anna is missing because of her and feels guilty for using the dagger on Rumple. She doesn’t think she’s worthy of his love. Oh, lord, if only Belle knew how it’s Rumple who isn’t worthy of her love with all of his lies, manipulation, and deceit. She then spreads on the guilt even thicker by apologizing for keeping this secret, since she knows Rumple would never keep a secret from her. UGH! Belle finally confesses to Elsa about knowing Anna and how the Snow Queen captured her. Belle tells Emma, Elsa, and Killian about the mirror. Rumple has told her that it will be used for the Spell of Shattered Sight, turning the whole town on one another.
Emma: She shows everyone the video of the Snow Queen as her foster mother. Henry suggests looking for her ice cream truck to either find her or find clues. They end up finding it out by the Merry Men’s camp. Robin wants to talk to Regina, but she rebuffs him. Emma tells her she could have been nicer, but Regina tells her to stay out of it and is upset she has to deal with her and Killian making eyes at each other. Emma protests this, but then Killian definitely makes eyes at her. Once inside the truck, neither Regina nor Killian notice the lock on the freezer (how did these two last so long as villains when they don’t even notice details?). Killian uses his hook to break the lock and they find a file on Emma inside, starting from the article on how she was found on the side of the road. Emma looks through the file and discovers she stayed with the Snow Queen for six months, the longest she’d ever stayed anywhere. Killian asks if she’s okay, but she just tells him it was a long time ago, prompting a conversation about the fact that Killian was once a child about 200 years ago. Emma realizes that the Snow Queen has kept old art projects and essays and a card Emma wrote to her, and that someone doesn’t do that unless they care about you. They also discover a scroll with Arendelle writing on it. Back at the sheriff’s station, Elsa has discovered that the Snow Queen is her aunt. She and Emma look at the family tree and discover another sister that Killian thinks looks just like Emma (I really don’t see that except for the fact that she is blonde). Elsa sees the scroll and translates it. It basically says that Emma is the Savior and will become Ingrid’s (the Snow Queen) sister. Belle comes in letting them know about the mirror and the Shattered Sight spell, and Emma and Elsa figure out that they’ll be the only two left that aren’t affected so the Snow Queen can have her family.
Ingrid/The Snow Queen: Anna is introduced to Ingrid who let’s Anna know that the reason she doesn’t know her is because she was put in an urn by people who didn’t understand her. She shows Anna that she also has the same powers as Elsa and that it runs in the family. We don’t see Ingrid again until Anna is on her way back from the Rock Trolls. Ingrid creates a storm that results in Anna falling off a mountain. Ingrid steals the hat box from Anna before poofing them back to the castle. Ingrid has Anna locked in a cell in the dungeons of the castle. She accuses Anna of wanting to strip Elsa of her powers with the hat. Anna claims she wasn’t going to use it on Elsa, but that their parents were. Anna then reveals that the Rock Trolls told her she had another sister and Ingrid gets very angry. Anna asks what Ingrid wants. Ingrid says she wanted a family that would embrace her for who she was, but she doesn’t think Anna can be part of that family since she has nothing in common with her and Elsa. She will have to find someone else to take Anna’s place.
Rumple seeks out the Snow Queen and lets her know Emma is on to her. The Snow Queen tells him that Emma didn’t discover anything she didn’t want her to discover. She goes head to head with Rumple which is pretty fantastic. He doesn’t scare her like he does most others. She tells him to stay out of her way, Later, after Belle has glimpsed the mirror, Rumple comes back to confront the Snow Queen about it. They posture and threaten each other again: Rumple telling her she better now hurt anyone he loves with her plans and the Snow Queen claiming she can’t make any guarantees. Rumple shows her that he has the hat and the Snow Queen shows fear for the first time.
Anna: She comes back from Misthaven and lies to Elsa about what she’s found out. She notices there are no flurries or any of Elsa’s normal icy behaviors happening. Elsa excitedly introduces Anna to their Aunt Ingrid and Anna immediately goes into disbelieving mode. She immediately goes to Kristoff and tells him that she doesn’t trust Ingrid. She claims to be a good judge of character, but Kristoff calls her out on that as she almost married Hans after 10 minutes. Anna doesn’t understand why there isn’t any record of Ingrid anywhere, so she wants to visit the Rock Trolls to find out about her. She also tells Kristoff that she didn’t tell Elsa what she found out on her trip. Unfortunately, Ingrid has been listening to their conversation. Anna runs into Belle at Oaken’s and since they are going to the same place, invites her to come with her to visit the Rock Trolls. Anna asks Grand Pabbie about Ingrid and he tells her that her mother actually had two sisters, and they were quite close. But then one day Ingrid and their other sister, Helga, vanished, so the royal family asked the Rock Trolls to make everyone forget them. This makes Anna think Ingrid is a liar because she didn’t tell them about this (um, wasn’t she trapped in an urn until recently), and needs to get back to the castle fast. Ingrid causes a storm and imprisons Anna, telling her she can’t be part of their family because she is the outsider.
Questions:
Why are they wondering how the Snow Queen got to our world? My first thought would be a magic bean since we’ve seen them several times at this point. I know they were supposed to be gone, but that obviously wasn’t true.
What is up with Belle’s traveling outfit? It’s a short skirt that has that caveman-like cut and knee-high stockings! And it’s white! Plus she’s in full make up.
Can someone please explain why Emma was moved around in foster care so much that six months was the longest she was anywhere? Isn’t the point of foster care to find a family to take them in so their life isn’t disrupted so much? No wonder Emma is the way she is if she was moved from family to family so much she couldn’t ever form any bonds.
Once again, what is up with Belle’s Storybrooke outfit? She’s going to infiltrate the Snow Queen’s lair in a short skirt and knee high boots (I mean, they are fur lined, but still)?
Ingrid told Anna she’d been trapped in an urn, so why would Anna think she knew anything about her family erasing everyone’s memories?
Who’s voice is coming from the mirror before Belle takes the cover off. It’s not speaking in Belle’s normal accent.
So, did Colette and Belle somehow get up when the Ogre pulled the table off of them? Maurice says her mother stood up to the Ogre, but they’d been lying under a table.
Why was Belle so worried about the Ogres reaching the road? They’d already been to the castle.
Where did this prophecy come from? Most prophecies aren’t so literal.
Observations:
The first book Belle’s mother ever read to her was called Her Handsome Hero.
Belle is wearing her blue movie dress. We saw her wear this in Rumple’s castle in Skin Deep. I had assumed that it had been something Rumple had given her since she didn’t bring anything with her, but maybe Rumple magicked her belongings to the castle at some point.
If this were real life, Anna would be so dead, or at least have multiple broken bones after falling off the mountain.
Rumple looks into the Snow Queen’s mirror and nothing happens.
The Snow Queen’s plan to use a mirror for the Spell of Shattered Sight comes directly from the Hans Christian Anderson story The Snow Queen. Although it is not her mirror that shatters, but the devil’s mirror. Read the tale here.
The false eyelashes on Belle are over the top this episode.
Timeline Issues:
Emma says she’s 13, maybe 14 in the video, but it’s supposed to be 1998, and in the fall. Emma was born in 1983, so that would make her 15, maybe 14 if it’s still the beginning of October.
If Anna met Belle before Belle met Rumple, then how old must she be now? Belle lived with Rumple, probably for at least a year (despite the short time we saw in Skin Deep and Lacey), and then she went on the adventure with Mulan to find the Yaoguai in The Outsider, and then she was captured by the Evil Queen and imprisoned for about 2 ½ years according to the hash marks in her cell in that we saw in Queen of Hearts. We know Elsa was trapped in the urn (although we don’t know how), but it had to have happened before Snow and Charming met, as it came through the time portal with Emma and Killian during There’s No Place Like Home, and as we saw, Belle was still Rumplestiltskin’s maid at this time. Assuming Arendelle wasn’t part of the curse (which, it shouldn’t be since it wasn’t part of the Enchanted Forest), at least 35 years must have passed from what we just saw.
So the Snow Queen apparently cared about Emma, but what happened for Emma to leave and the Snow Queen make her forget? How did she get to our land if not by my theory of a magic bean? The Snow Queen is planning to tear the town apart just so she can get Emma and Elsa to become her sisters, and Rumple is being a conniving ass as usual.

She knew how to hide her emotions from everyone due to protect herself from others. "The Ice Lady" she was famously called. Without having time to take care of her own feelings, young Lady began her own prudent game of thrones, where the future of herself, her homeland and her relationships are at stake.
Chapter 4. A falsis principiis proficisci*
*To set forth from false principles
______________________________________________________________
The last day before the royal wedding has begun very early. Sansa slipped quietly into the room where I was staying with first morning birds whose melodious chirping could be heard from the balcony. I was already awakened, sitting in front of the mirror, brushing my hair and wearing my golden-green dress, which was made for me by tailors in Shieldville especially for my forced trip to King’s Landing, in southern fashion.
“Cousin?” the girl whispered, standing behind me.
“You mustn’t be afraid to talk openly here.”, I turned to her and stood up, letting her to sit with me on the bed, “I don’t think they can hear us here, and if they do – my sword is standing beside the bed”
Sansa looked at my sword and smiled.
“Not everyone here is cruel as we thought they were”, she said and looked at me, “Tyrion is good…when we married, he didn’t touch me at all, he understands me, and, I think that we can trust him”
“I agree, he seems a very wise person, and surprisingly I can say that I don’t hate him, even though he’s Lannister. I think that he won’t mind if your marriage to him will be canceled and I don’t think that he has something to do with the death of your family and mine”, I made a pause before informing my cousin about the departure.
The birds began to sing louder, the sun was rising from the sea, the warm sea breeze entered the room where we were sitting. It felt surprisingly peaceful and in one moment it felt like all the matters were gone. But it was only for one second.
"The boat arrived yesterday night", I began, "It will bring us to the Vale of Arryn, to your aunt", Sansa looked at me with a surprise, "You will be safe there, until it will be time to be back to Winterfell"
"But what if they are going to catch us?", my cousin was worried
"Littlefinger promised safe trip for you and me, even if it is only the part of his personal plans, I'm not aware of them just now...I don't trust him, but he knows that he will pay terribly if something goes wrong"
"But when?"
"Right after the wedding. We must leave immediately after it, there will be no time for preparations."
Sansa nodded, sighed in relief and smiled at me. It might have seemed like a mountain had been lifted from her shoulders. When my back was terribly heavy.
Cousin’s look changed into sadness and she whispered:
"I wish our families were alive..."
The wind suddenly felt cold, just like it came from northern lands, or, maybe, ghosts of our loved ones appeared in the room.
"They will be revenged, I promise you this, Sansa", I took her hands in mine and looked at her with ice-cold gaze, "The North remembers"
______________________________________________________________
The long-awaited meeting with Cersei took place the very same day. On my way to the throne room in The Red Keep I was calculating all the possible options for the development of our specific conversation, thinking, who else could be dragged into it. Not only Cersei, but possibly the Kingslayer himself, as this small matter as marriage between Houses Meverell and Lannister occurs a big deal to him as much as to me.
“Lady Isolde”, Cersei turned to me when I entered the room, when I glanced at Jaime, who was sitting beside the table, the big vase with beautiful and exotic flowers was standing on it, three empty cups and a jug of wine were standing on the table as well, “I don’t think that we had time to have a proper chat after your arrival to King’s Landing”, the woman smiled and invited me to sit beside her.
“I believe we didn’t, your Grace”, I agreed, and looked around the room, portraits of ancestors of both Houses Baratheon and Lannister were hanging there, surrounded with bookshelves and crossbow
“We are glad to have you here, despite everything that happened between Houses of Lannister and Meverell”, Cersei looked at me, as if wondering that I would be afraid of consequences that could happen because my House bent the knee to King in the North and served him with loyalty.
“Of course, your Grace, but the House of Meverell and I believe that we can overcome those misunderstandings”, I smiled cunningly, looking directly into her eyes, waiting for her to break the glance.
She did so, and glanced at Jaime, who sat beside me, facing Cersei. Surprisingly for myself he didn’t say a word.
“Of course, you understand, Lady Isolde, that we invited you here not only because of the wedding of King Joffrey”, Cersei began her sentence, when Jaime poured wine in all three glasses of wine.
He gave me one of them when I felt how his fingers on one brief second touched mine, as I was grabbing a glass in my hand. My face was motionless, as I was looking at Cersei’s reaction to movements in general. She didn’t see this interaction, or, maybe, she was a great pretender.
“Lady Isolde, you see, the actual point of your arrival was not only to show that northern lords and ladies support King Joffrey”, when Jaime said these words I felt the knuckles on my left hand, which I had lowered onto my knee, tightened, “Lady Cersei has one important matter that we need to discuss with you”.
His look was long and curious, but I turned my gaze at Cersei, even though I realized that my heart began to beat a little faster, surprisingly for myself.
“It’s the matter of marriage, Lady Isolde.", she paused and looked at her brother, who gave her a quick glance and then turned to me:
"To keep now shattered peace between our houses, we have a propose to make for you...", Kingslayer didn't finish the sentence properly as his sister finished:
"Marriage between you and Ser Jaime will secure the peace, of course"
There was a moment of silence, both brother and sister were looking for my reaction: Cersei glared at me impatiently when Jaime with curiosity.
I knew that I was free, my potential engagement to Lord Edmure Tully didn't exist, but for the sake of Lannisters and their cruel plans to have control over Einarland I couldn't possibly agree to this.
"I must reject your proposal, your Grace", I said with sharp tone of voice, "Since the end of conflict between House Meverell and House Tully I was betrothed to Lord Edmure Tully, our families needed this marriage for the protection of our lands just like now"
Cersei looked at me in slight shock, perhaps, she didn't know about this. Neither did Jaime know as he looked at me surprisingly how his sister did, without saying a word.
"Oh, but that doesn't matter, I suppose, he's married to one of the Frey's daughters, as I've heard", Cersei finally said, taking a sip from her cup of wine.
The eruption of my emotions filled the air of the evening's wind. It was still impossible to believe that Cersei could think that I didn't know because of whose plans my family was killed, she thought that the moto of the House Meverell Wisdom and bravery was bluff, that I wasn't capable of anything. The anger was rising inside me with every second, and it took me great deal to come with my senses and replied dryly and firmly: "House Meverell doesn't have time to discuss marriages at the present time, your Grace, even if there is always time to think about the future of my land. But we live in shattered present time, and if King's Landing has all the time it needs – northern lands, and particularly my land, don't have such luxury now.", I finished, finally taking a sip from my cup of wine and looked both at Cersei and Jaime.
Kingslayer ran his curious gaze from my head to toes, nodding almost invisibly, saying The Ice Lady with his lips.
The pause felt too long and pressured, it felt that the tension between us could be cut with the sword. In one moment, the plans of our escape with Sansa and killing Joffrey were fading away, and I had to pretend to cool my principles off.
"I am free and not betrothed to anyone, you Grace...I will consider your proposal and will inform you sooner", I looked coldly at Cersei, when she looked at me with satisfied smile.
"I always knew that we can find the right language with House Meverell, Lady Isolde"
I nodded silently and left the room, rushing through the cold corridor to my chambers, hearing the echoes of my heart. ______________________________________________________________
“You still think that she'll agree with it?”, Jaime looked at his sister uncertainly, when heavy doors to the room closed after Isolde. Something was worrying him, and he understood that he started to feel pity for The Ice Lady, he knew that she was hiding deep emotions behind her cold unemotional façade.
“She has no other choice”, Cersei took another sip from her cup and stood up from her seat, walking slowly in front of her brother, “She will agree to marry you, and I believe it will happen tomorrow”
“Maybe if it is going to happen, don’t you think that she’ll plot revenge silently, right in front of our noses when we’ll be in Shieldville?”
“She doesn’t have such strength, and, besides, she doesn’t have skills in leading her men to battles”
Jaime stood up from his seat and came closer to Cersei, facing her. There was a moment of silence between them, when the warm night wind blew from the balcony.
“Didn’t you see how she’s working with bow and arrows? She is capable of something even bigger than that, she’s been trained by her father and, probably, her uncle Ned”
“But both of them are dead now, my dear brother”, Cersei interrupted him, “They can’t guide her any longer. And if she wants to keep her land in peace – she must agree. All you have to do is to pretend that you love her just as much as you love me. And I’ll make sure about it, don’t worry”
After those words Jaime turned away from her in irritation. Surprisingly for himself he didn’t want to play those games, even for the sake of his family. Maybe it was because he knew Isolde when she was a lot younger, but even at that time, when he saw her many moons ago, he saw the same cold gaze in her eyes.
______________________________________________________________
I was standing at the balcony, breathing fresh salty air from the sea, recreating all the steps that I should make next day during Royal Wedding and afterwards. Everything needed to be figured out, all precautions needed to be taken.
At first, I didn’t hear the quiet knock on the doors of my chamber, but then the knocking began to be very persistent so I rushed into the room and opened the door, hoping it was Sansa.
“May I come in, Lady Isolde?” – Kingslayer was standing before the entrance, when I looked at him, taken aback from this sudden visit from him.
“Did Cersei send him to talk senses with me?” slipped in my head, as my gaze caught his eyes, when he was waiting for my answer.
"Yes, Ser Jaime", I pointed at the chair near the table, where he could sit.
"Of course, you are surprised by such late appearance in front of your room, but there are some personal matters that we still need to discuss", Jaime began, when I sat near him on an empty chair.
"I know what you feel, Lady Isolde, and I know that neither you nor me want this potential marriage, even for the sake of our houses", Jaime made a pause as if trying to find convenient words, "Who am I, anyways? Lannister? Kingslayer?", he smirked, "Not the best match for you, I'm afraid"
I was surprised by his attitude towards me, he didn't hide the fact that the marriage between our houses, as well as my past betrothal to Edmure Tully, was a cracked illusion. Jaime was clever and he probably was sure that I hated all of Lannisters, I was just good in pretending.
"Perhaps, we can agree that I'm not good in this subject either", I paused, "You know me as The Ice Lady and I don't think that neither you nor other lords or knights wants to marry a lady with such nickname", I smirked and looked at Kingslayer, who was tapping his fingers on the table, "I suppose people assume that I have a piece of ice instead of heart"
Jaime laughed, but then he looked at me and smiled cunningly:
"But The Ice Lady has her own lands, I assure that other lords and knights will not be stopped because of the ice inside your chest"
I smiled coldly at the man. He knew how to speak.
"And you as well, Ser Jaime, you're among of them"
Cold light could be seen in his look, as he stood up from his seat and moved closer to me, when I stood up as well, the chair dropped loudly on the floor behind me.
"But surprisingly for myself, Lady Isolde, I don't want Einarland"
“And you won’t have it. Even if you wanted to take it with force – our people can’t be tamed like that.”
He moved closer to me, as if he wanted to took my hand, but he didn’t. Instead, he looked into my eyes and said quietly:
“I’m afraid my sister doesn’t agree with you, Lady Isolde”
Now I became furious, I couldn’t believe that Kingslayer himself would think that his sister was in power to command me or people of Einarland what to do and to which King they must bend their knee.
“Neither I agree with her”, I replied coldly, “And I know that I’m in the power and in freedom to whether agree or disagree with her plans, and I’m saying it once again: I will not marry you, Ser Jaime. Do you really think that both you and I are not in power to not accept this obligation? I’ve done it once, and believe me, I will do it second time”
“You don’t know my sister, Lady Isolde”
“You don’t know the courage and principles of people of north”
“I think we understood those principles from your late uncle Ned perfectly”, Jaime replied dryly, and my heart sank.
Not only I’ve lost my parents in such a short time, but I’ve lost my dearest uncle, who taught me a lot when I was younger, not only how to defend myself and my principles, but also how to defend my own land in the future, as I was the only heir of Einarland.
Right after Kingslayer’s words I realized how angry I was. It gave me great deal not to slap him on his cheek, but I just turned away from him, trying to calm down. Within a couple of seconds, I’ve heard how the man moved closer to me and said quietly:
“I didn’t mean to offend you, Lady Isolde, I truly didn’t”, he made a pause, and when I turned to him again, he continued: “And I’m sorry to what happened to your parents”
His look was sad and sure: it felt like Jaime was truly sorry for what his family did to my parents. I sighed slightly and looked at him again:
“It was moons ago. And there is nothing that can be undone, Ser Jaime. Life goes on, and we’re the ones who can change it now, not the ones who are dead. And we’re capable of making our own lives without taking orders from other people. Not in this matter anyways.”
By the look that he had I realized that he understood me.
“I believe that we’re capable of doing that, Lady Isolde”
After these words he left my room. It took me some time to take my eyes off the entering doors, realizing that my heart was beating a little faster when Jaime looked at me for the last time before leaving the room.
______________________________________________________________
My horse just entered the castle after my sword practices in the forest, when I noticed Robb, Lady Catelyn and Lord Edmure walking towards the castle’s entrance. Robb saw me and smiled:
"Isolde, I'm glad to see you", the cousin hugged me. It was still hard for me to call him your Grace. For me he was always my dear cousin, "Of course, it would be better if we could meet each other sooner and not in these circumstances".
They arrived for my parents: they were heading to The Twins to attend the wedding of Edmure and one of Lord Frey’s daughters.
“I understand, cousin. But it’s better than not to meet at all, I suppose”, I smiled back and greeted Lady Catelyn. I gave cold look to Edmure:
“Lord Edmure”
“Lady Isolde”, he greeted me and our gazes towards each other froze for a couple of seconds. Something ran inside me as a cold shower but I tried not to pay attention on it.
I was glad that I wasn’t going to marry him. But surprisingly for myself all my senses inside me was telling me that something would go wrong and something would unite us together once again, whether I wanted it at the present moment or not.
That feeling was in the air for the whole day before my parents’ departure. By the rules I needed to attend the wedding as well. But the day before the departure my father informed me that since I’m the only heir of Einarland – I would stay in Shieldville and protect it no matter what would happen.
He said it with his strong and calm voice, but I understood that he took a good effort not to open his true emotions up. He knew what was waiting them at what people would later call the Red Wedding but he didn’t want to worry me. He knew that I was ready to protect Einarland. He didn’t know, though, how it would be painful for me to keep my emotions shut and my mind cold.
“You’ve changed a lot, my dear cousin”, Robb smiled again, “But you still have this cold look in your eyes”, then he whispered, “And you still hate Tullys that badly?”
“People call me The Ice Lady not only because I rejected the proposal, you know this, Robb”, I replied coldly
“I didn’t mean to offend you, Isolde”, Robb put his arm around my shoulders, “I always admired your strong principles. And I hope I have such principles as well”
“Hey, you’re The King in the North, stop underestimate your abilities”, I smiled at him, but my words were strong.
Robb smiled back and hugged me tightly.
“And you don’t underestimate yours, Isolde. You’re the true heir and future ruler of Einarland. And don’t shut your heart down.”
The doors of the castle closed behind us.

Headcanons for Vilex (Vil/Felix)
Felix has more or less avoided Vil´s fits of overbearing-ness for the first two years of Felix's time at NRC
There was more or less an unspoken agreement after Vil saw what this man can make out of basically nothing
Leave him alone and he´ll work hard on his own, and get fancy, beautiful jewelry with gems mined from the Han-eul mountains, the most gorgeous ever
This went on until the VDC, when Vil decided Felix would help the crew, music and stuff. He thought Felix could do it
Anyways chapter 5 goes as it does
Felix and Yuu in the ¨we aren't going to be dancing, why must we eat the white people food?¨ club
Vil´s overblot goes as it does
As he's doing his major soul searching trying to reassess every damn thing, he happens upon Felix's hot shop, and they start chatting
At first it's polite small talk, about Felix´s projects and the jewelry making process. It then turns into more personal things
Vil hasn't had much time to just work through it all.
Even with Rook picking up the slack it takes a lot to be so perfect, and to look like it takes no effort to be perfect
Felix is blunt and slightly to the left (my baby is undiagnosed autistic, the tumblr kind, he'd be doing numbers on here) and its oddly refreshing to Vil, who hasn't given him much more thought than a handy kinda dude
They started dating not long and it's a trip for both of them
Vil never thought he'd be so down for someone, he always thought a partner would have to be actually perfect, not better than him of course
If you told him a year ago he'd be so head over heels for a kinda short artisan with little filter, he'd laugh it off, but life comes at you fast and you never know. And now he's sitting in the cafeteria with one arm around him while trying to get him to eat, since using his fire and metal magic to craft actually burns a lot of calories, he has to eat a lot, but can just get so absorbed in studying or whatever Vil has to remind him to eat.
Felix has definitely kissed Vil all over like that one tweet
Felix kissing Vil all over his face: skincare
Holiday hcs since we just had those fucks
I just know Vils dad is like one of those sad beige moms
And christmas, or the twisted wonderland equivalent kinda sucked over at the Schoenheit house for that reason
And Vil keeps that going in Pomefiore, instead of beige we got purple, which is a step up but you get the point
But Felix came from a large family and the kind of village thats one big family, and it's ¨tacky¨ holidays all the way
We are talking about homemade decor (that still looks amazing, all those jerks are pro artisans, what did you think would happen?), all the colors, cookie decorating with half the kitchen coated in flour, festive kidz bop, pjs, the whole messy nine yards
This of course becomes a problem, last year, Felix just did his room how he likes it, and his roommate was kind enough not to snitch, but now he and Vil are dating, he's asking for his opinion, and, he really hates how sterile this all looks
While dating Felix has sort of mellowed Vil out, seeing what's really important in life and all that, he still very much cares about aesthetics and everything looking perfect, and perfect, in this scenario makes Felix poke everything with a stick
Eventually they come to a conclusion, the dorm will be elegant as always but more fun
They do a whole thing about gingerbread houses, and it turns out Rook´s aunt has a dope recipe which he shares. It's actually pretty cool to see these guys fumble, the majority is rich fancy dudes who've never cooked in their lives
Of course Felix´s is super elaborate (once again, who do you think you're talking about?). He's not much better at baking, but design is his thing. The whole thing is a victorian style house with candy cane railings, green cotton candy and powdered sugar as snowy bushes, a snowman made out of donut holes, and a garden using candy canes as trellis, those pull apart twizzlers as vines and actual candied flowers. How this man even got those things, no one knows (he bribed Rook, a true artist cannot be contained)
Tree decorating! Some students write home for ornaments that they particularly like, Felix makes some, Epel makes a whole popcorn chain (has to be supervised or he'll eat it, our gremlin child), it gets spray painted, so it doesn't attract bugs not all of it matches but the tree is beautiful and everyone in the dorm got to add to it
Vil has to fold, this **has** been better than how holidays normally are for him
The gifts:
What Felix gifts Vil:
(he made them of course)
he put in it, a picture Rook took, of the group (him, Vil, Epel, Rook) (dont ask how Rook took the picture and was in the picture. we all know this man is some eldrich being) in front of the dorm tree
What Vil got him:
(i couldn´t find pictures of actual tickets so pretend they´re tickets)
They both love the netflix movie, so when Felix casually tosses out he once saw this as a play when travelling with his parents, Vil was intrigued. he found out that a theater not too far from NRC would be putting it on
Vil, when doing his homework on the play, saw it's a thing to dress up like you're going to prom, so he also got Felix a nice suit

Ok so basically theres this guy called fitz hes the main character of these books hes the bastard son of a prince and he lives in the royal castle where he is training to be an assasin. In the castle (buckkeep castle) theres this lovley albino jester called the Fool and he and fitz become friends after he told fitz a prophecy. So one time fitz returns from his uncle verity's wedding after being poisoned by his other, evil, uncle regal and he tells this girl hes in love with named Molly (who kind of represents his dream of life if he wasnt a royal bastard and didnt have to go through trauma) that he has dreamed of her while he was gone (it was true and kind of flirty - he also described his heart turning over in his chest when he saw her then (REMEMBER THIS ITS IMPORTANT) and leter he meets the fool and tells him he has dreamed of him (using the exact same line. Hello fitz?) Then he "enjoyed the brief look of surprise on the fools face" after he told the fool he missed him.
The fool helps fitz against his evil uncle regal from killing the king and they have like character peralels. Anyway one time the fool gets beaten up by regal's man and fitz wants to patch up his wounds and he runs his fingers fown the fools jaw and goes "who did this to you?" With the intention of MURDER like some kind of ya fantasy love interest anyway some time after the fool leaves with fitzs aunt to find his good uncle verity in the mountains (he sin the mountains because they are in a war with a collection of island called the outislands, lead by a guy and a woman called the Pale Woman (this is relavent later)) and fitz stays and goes on a tiny little murder spree killing the people who killed the king using their magic then he is taken by regal and gets tortured and dies but he got better thanks to his wolf and very queer coded forbidden magic
Plot goes by and fitz starts going to find verity he befriends two lovley ladies named kettle (old. Very old) and starling (we support womens wrongs) and he gets shot by an arrow in the back and the fool finds him and takes care of hom and when he wakes up the fool cries about him having been beautiful and tells him how he the fool is something called the white prophet and fitz is his catalyst and he says to fitz "seeing you here alive gives the air back to my lungs and if there is anyone i am fated to be with im glad its you" and they touch forheads and fitz describes feelling a sort of "starnge feelling of comfort" anyway afterwards fitz fool fitz aunt kettricken kettle and starling go on a quest to find verity and at some point starling becomes convinced the fool is secretly a woman and in love with fitz and when fitz confronts the fool about it fool goes "well am i not, fitz?" "Im serious! Sge thinks you love me!" And the fool is like "i do love you" and fitz and deconstructs gender and attraction and fitz is like "i love you as a man loves another man" and fool goes "he loves me he says! And i love him!"
Anyway then the fool starts to shed his skin and gets sick because of it so shanenigans ensue like fitz having to bridal carry the fool. Also they sleep curled up next to each other.
Plot happens again after they find the uncle and the is now stuck with these hands that guve him a power to know things intaely on three of his fingers and for plot reasons he touches them to fitzs wrist and they become one being!!! And have a sort of magical bond were the fool goes "ypu really do love me!!" And then for plot reasons fitz has to stay in the mountaisn while everyone goes back home riding living stone dragons (one of them fitz gave memories of his ex to. Basically molly and fitz had a child and then molly hooked up with fitz's adoptive father and fitz os understandbly angry) (he is also angry about verity doing a brainswitch with him so he can produce a child with kettricken since he is dying due to putting his soul into a stone dragon with kettle. Moving on)
So fitz and the fool depart and the fool kisses fitz on the mouth!!!
It takes fitz seven years to travel back to buckeep where he settles down in a cabin with an adopted son named Mishap (starling brought him. Shes fitzs fwb now) (shes his only friend for fifteen years. CRINGE) and anyway. This is all the first trilogy i can continue if you want. It gets only gayer :3
that sounds super intriguing! wait this is the one where the author is so against the gay shipping? when it's bordering canon?

The Alpha's Boy - Chapter 15 - Part 1
Book Two In : The Alpha's Trilogy
*Warning - Adult Content*
Alistair 'Star' Claymore-Phoenix
We spoke about my Aunt for a moment but I didn't have much to go off.
I didn't even know the woman's name or what she looked like, the idea of finding her was hopeless but I did send Quinton a text, hoping he would know.
Quinton being an I.T. worker at the Autumn Falls pack-lands, knew pretty much everything and found that I had an aunt in the first place.
Once we had finished we were back on the road, the drive to Banff wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
I couldn't sign to Riot as he drove but I did start using my text-to-talk more.
Not too much though because he still made me feel nervous and uneasy.
He didn't seem like much of a conversationalist either, we mostly stayed listening to the music that played as a lull in the truck until we hit another dirt road.
It was better off than the one we drove to get to Gran and Gramp's place but still not paved.
It was hidden away, you'd missed it from the main road.
Before we got too far Riot needed to get out of the truck and unhook a handmade gate that stopped unwanted people from going into pack territory.
"Fucking stupid if you ask me," Riot mumbled as he jumped back in the truck after locking the chain again from the other side.
"They have enough money, I don't see why they don't just buy a passcode gate. Would save everyone some running around. Especially in the winter. It starts snowing like August in the mountains."
'In august? That sounds criminal.'
"Fucking should be."
He shifted the truck into gear before finishing the trek down the road.
After about five minutes of driving the long, hidden driveway we finally made it to a clearing that broke off into a little village.
The main house was huge, built like you'd expected a pack-house to be.
Two stories, long, with windows lining off each end as if it was a motel.
Behind it was another, smaller but not by much, house that I assumed the Alpha lived in.
There was a large six-car garage off to the other side adjacent to the smaller home, two cars parked in front of it, though I can only imagine how many were inside judging by how far back it went.
Riot didn't bother parking up the driveway, instead, it stopped a bit away and turned off the truck, he got out first, stopping at the bonnet before I got out behind him, shutting the door and sucking in my lip at all the smells that hit my nose.
At first, nobody was around, the green grass that sat in front of the home was well cut short, nothing growing over.
Everything about it down to the welcome mat with paws on it screamed normal, other than the size of it of course.
Riot walked towards the home with me trailing behind him slowly, I was too busy taking everything in to notice the door open, or a petite woman standing in the doorway with a smile on her face.
"Rye. Long time no see my dear, here for more supplies I suppose?" the woman asked, my attention finally getting caught when she started speaking.
I looked at her for a moment, her blond hair in a messy bun, she was an Omega, you could smell it off her.
I wasn't sure if every pack was as welcoming to Omegas as Autumn Falls was but she looked well cared for.
I was thankful that Autumn Falls had a no status rule.
It didn't matter your birth title, if you wanted to fight in a war but your birthright said you were only made for watching children, who were to stop you from following your dreams?
"Annette, hello," Riot greeted, stepping into the small woman's open arms, it was a quick hug, but with that hug the woman noticed me behind her, her smile falling ever so slightly.
"We came to pick up cheques and some supplies for the big girls. This is Star, Esther and Miquel's grandson, he's helping out while Preston goes on gallivanting with his hellions."
Anette smiled again, gesturing for us to enter the house, the large foray reminding me of Charles' pack-house with the cream colours and bright lights on the walls, flowers sat on two little end tables on either side of the door.
Something about it triggered my anxiety and I couldn't help the creeping hand that crawled up to my throat, it felt like it was grabbing me as I rubbed a hand on my opposite arm.
My skin was crawling and I tried to itch it away.
Annette was walking away speaking about something but I couldn't move.
My feet stuck to the rug under my feet.
It was only when I felt a light hand between my shoulder blades did my body jolt out of the trance that it was under.
I turned my head, almost snapping my neck to see Riot, his brows pulled together with concern as he watched me.
"You good?" he asked, his hand slowly leaving my back.
As much as I wanted to tell him no, that I wanted to leave, my body wouldn't let me.
So I just nodded my head before we both took off our shoes and followed Annette into the house.
I tried not to look around, I kept my eyes downcast trying to avoid the sight of anything that may bring me back to memories that I'd been trying hard to forget.
That I didn't need to worry about remembering when my brain was in a drugged haze.
We made it to a large kitchen, with an island that sat in the middle.
It had two stoves, as well as fridges.
Annette dug into a drawer that was closer to the back glass door.
She hummed as did so before pulling out two envelopes and holding them out to Riot.
"These are for you. Dakota is in the back with Maxwell, they can help you with the feed."
Riot thanked her and we walked back through the house, grabbing our shoes and following the wrap around porch to the back.
'Why is a place this big so quiet?' I asked as we walked onto the grass and towards a large barn-like shed in the back that seemed to back onto a cliff.
"During the summer most of the pack tends to leave, there are only about twenty people that live in the house, ten year-round but a day as nice as this most of them are gone, whether for a drive, a run, Annette is a homebody, she's always home. I was looking for Eddy but I don't think he's home."
'Why did you need to see Eddy?' I was being nosey, I knew better than to pry into people but I didn't want Riot to stop talking just yet.
I wanted to keep this conversion going for as long as I could.
"Nothing serious. I just wanted to bring up some things we'd talked about before. That and letting him know you're here. Your grandparents let him know you were visiting but he wanted to be told when you got here. He isn't the most tech-savvy person so telling him in person is a lot easier," he started, digging his free hand into his pocket.
He stopped walking just before the stairs going off the porch, I stopped with him, finally looking up to see him looking behind my shoulder.
"Did you know your mother's name? Anything that could tip us off to who your aunt might be?"
'Oh.'
'I think it started with a P. She was from Russia. I know that. She and her sister came to Canada when they were young to find their mates.'
"And it obviously worked," he mused, turning back to the steps.
I nodded my head, following him again until we reached the barn.
It was empty, no animals were around it but there was hay inside the barn that a person was raking into a pile.
The person stopped as we got close, wiping a hand on their brow before giving us a toothy smile.
"Hey, Rhys, nice to see your mug here every once in a while. In need again are ya?"
Riot smiled, giving the man a clap on the back as they shook hands, the man's blue overalls matching well with his blonde hair and brown eyes.
"Yeah, still no cow feed in the silos' yet. Hopefully by the end of the summer."
"Nothing like having an empty silo. Who's yer' friend?"
"Oh," Riot said as if I was an afterthought, though the way we stood with me beside him told me it was just for show, he knew I was there the whole time, especially with the way his eyes moved to glance at me when he spoke to the blonde.
"This is Star. He's helping out at the farm."
"That means, I don't need to hurt my back helping you take these to the truck. Max, help Reg and his friend take the feed to the truck, bud."
"Sure dad," a younger voice called from in the barn.
Soon a smaller version of who I assumed was Dakota came bouncing out, a bright smile that matched his dad's on his face.
He must have been anywhere from twelve to fourteen years old.
He lifted a big bag of feed over his shoulder, greeting us before trotting off.
'Only three bags?' I asked before my hands got busy, I hoisted a bag over my shoulder, watching Riot as he said farewells.
He nodded, taking a bag of his own.
"The girls eat mostly grass in the summer, so the feed would only be for emergencies."
I couldn't reply, as frustrating as that was I just nodded, we walked to the truck, bumping the load into the back cab.
We didn't stick around very long after that and though I felt a little sad that I never found out anything about my Aunt, I was thankful that I got out of the farm, especially with Riot because I wanted this to work.
A mate was everything I had asked for but first, I wanted to find out who this Reg was.

26. What advice would you give your great grandchildren?
Joan Clementine Rodriguez was my firstborn great grandchild. Because Mount Auburn Hospital near their home was filled to capacity in the Obstetrical department they were sent on to Cambridge City Hospital. Anne had a very long and tiring labor and after many hours Joan was delivered by Ceasarian section. The hospital was very noisy and Anne felt certain she would get more rest at home. She was dressing and I was holding Joan. Both Joan’s grandmothers, her aunt Nicky and her Dad were present. Then the most frightening thing of my life happened. Joan began screaming and then jerking, rythmic, movements of her arms and legs. The staff was summoned and the doctor informed us all that Joan had suffered a grand mal seizure. She was placed in an isolette and rushed by ambulance to Tufts Medical Center neonatal intensive care unit. Her Dad went in the ambulance and we followed in cars. Her care was swift and intensive. She was immediately connected to equipment that constantly recorded brain activity. She was seen by the best neonatal neurologists in Boston. She was prescribed phenobarb which would be tapered off in time. At the age of one week she was sent home. She had follow up visits with a neurologist and a neuro visiting nurse who found Joanie meeting all milestones ahead of schedule.
Joan is five years old now and in kindergarden. She has wanted to go to school since she could utter the words. She is very creative, draws well and gets her family portraits in perfect perspective. She wrote her first letter to Santa this year with no input from anybody else. She takes dance lessons now and is a big Angelina Ballerina fan. Her grandmother, Guggs gave her swimming lessons and she swims very well. I have learned so much from this darling precious child, she needs no advice from me.
Everett Floyd Metcalf is my namesake. He calls me,”greatgranny’ and I love that. Once when I was holding him reading a bedtime story before his nap, he was playing with the loose skin I try to ignore that dangles from my chin. Ev looked at me and said,”greatgranny I love your chin.” I se my turkey neck in new light now. His playroom is full of interesting toys, books and creative things. He has a rocking horse made by his great uncle Peter. There are safety locks on all the gates and cupboard doors where cleaning chemicals are kept. Ev has taken apart that lock, not to get into the cupboard but only to explore the complexity of locks.
Everett’s grandfather, Metcalf plays piano and sings songs from an old songbook. He knows,”Goodnight Irene,” and, “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.” He sings very well. He loves to play outdoors in any temperature. I was visiting once when Ev was two. It was near Halloween and he was eager for me to look out their front window to,”see the pooky goats hanging in the pooky trees.” Sure enough there were spooky ghosts hanging in the neighbors trees. He goes hiking in the mountains with his parents and he loves cars. This year he mae his second gingerbread house and did a very good job. There is no advice I could give Everett that he might need. He has everything under control.
Laura Winter Rodriguez was two on October 29th. Her middle name is Winter because despite her mother being scheduled for a Cesarean section on November 1, Laura decided to arrive during a surprise snowstorm on October 29. Laura has been making up her own mind about everything ever since. She is a most expressive child with incredibly expressive ways. She loves being read to and listens attentively. She vociferously tells me what story she would like but I don’t always understand her. We generally come to a compromise. She likes to play,”Ride a Horse to Boston” and never tires but I do. She loves to play, “dress up” and raids Joanie’s closet at will. She got a cash register for Christmas and she puts it to use in the Miss Clementine’s Shop in the living room. She swipes the play credit card like a pro. We are great friends but when her gran, “Guggs” is present I am summarily dismissed. She has the unqualified love of the entire family and I believe she is well aware of that. I do not believe there is one bit of advice I could give this wee sweet darling who I’m certain could charm a hound dog off a meat wagon.
Murphy Harriet Metcalf is about to celebrate her second birthday on the first day of February. She is very wise and keeps up with Everett. This past October we were all gathered for Anne and Dan’s wedding. Murphy wore a jade colored hat and coat that Aunt Bobbie in Ottawa, knit for Hillary about thirty years ago. She made the fashion statement of the day. At the end of the day her Dad suggested that she get a diaper change and get into pyjamas so she will be ready for bed when they get home. Murphy responded, “there’s a big poop in there.” Her report was accurate. She sings well and in tune. Her rendition of, “I am a pizza” is wonderful. Hillary recently sent a video of her running with Everett. She keeps up and I fully expect that she too will one day run the Boston Marathon as her Mother did a few years ago.
So it is more than obvious that these four incredibly remarkable little people are going to grow up and do great things without any input or advice from their great granny. I want them to only remember that I loved them all to the moon and back.

IM HOME FROM WORK ITS TIME TO TELL YOU ABOUT
Parker Peters AKA the Midnight Spider
(Holy shit buckle up this is gonna be long)
Parker Peters never knew her biological parents, they died, or went to jail, or abandoned her, when she was far to young to remember. Frankly, she didn’t care. She had two loving parents who take care and raise her to be the kind and confident person she is. Those parents being her Aunt April, and her Uncle Benji.
They live together in a small farmhouse in a small town in the White Mountains region of New Hampshire. April spend most her time tending to the farm while Benji works from home, doing projects shut in his shed. Parker loves her home more than anything. She spends her time hiking, identifying, and studying the animals she comes across. She wants to be a wildlife biologist like her Uncle, who focus in arachnids… but spiders where never Parker’s thing.
Overall Parker is your average seventeen year old, She likes history, vintage cars, retro video games, and comic books. She also has a slight interest in engineering which she shares with her Uncle Benji. Together they’ve been working on making webshooters,,, well they have been for the last couple years (their still in beta)
One spring weekend Parker tags along for Benji’s work trip to NYC, where he’ll be meeting with different scientists from Alcamax. And Parker will get to see what it’d be like to work in a real lab. During the visit Parker quickly realizes that things aren’t what they seem. Obvious shady shit. She’s fault certain that they’re hiding unethical animal testing… and she’s pissed. She brings this up to Benji on their ride home Sunday, which sparks an argument between the two. Parker puts her headphones on and they don’t talk for the rest of the long drive.
Once they get back Benji goes to his work shed to put away the new supplies gifted to him. April asks about the trip, and soon the three are hashing it out. Benji and Parker yell at each other whil April attempts to calm them down. Parker accidentally knocks into a table, chemicals spill, a candle tips over, Aunt April pulls them out of the way. And the shed goes up in flames.
Aprils glad the three of them are safe
So is Benji, but he won’t admit it yet. He perderesti to work analog. He watched his life’s work burn up before his eyes. He couldn’t muster a scream or a cry. Simply uttering, “goodnight” before walking off to bed.
Parker was mad at first. But the anger quickly turned to guilt once she realized what’s she’d done. Benji was right. She doesn’t know anything. Shes just some irresponsible kid. He could loose his job without that work. He was trying to be a good parent, trying to help her future. And she through it all away! Why? Because of a hunch?
Once the fires out Parker makes her way to the shed. Attempting to clean, or salvage whatever’s left. This is where she gets bit by a spider.
The next morning she goes to school and realizes that something’s different. She’s stronger, faster, and oddly sticky. She of carouse tries to use this to show off and cue the ‘trying to figure out if she’s superpowered at school’ montage
She tries to confide this in her best friend Stacy (Stacy Gwendolyn more in her later,,,, tldr bubbly punk rock girl) who isn’t quick to believe her. That night Parker goes into the woods by herself to try and rest the extend of her powers. Strength, agility, endurance, the ability to stick to walls, and night vision.
Over the course of the next week, she practices her powers in shows them off while wearing various work in progress costumes, soon both rumors and videos spread of the ‘Midnight Spider-Man’ and she becomes a sort of cryptid.
But not everyone who hears of her has good intentions. Doctor Connor from Alcemax, recognizes her abilities immediately. He’s been trying for similar results for months. He assumes that Benji must have been experimenting with her, in there attempt to creat Human-Animal mutants. He knew he specialized in spiders, but he didn’t think it would be anything like this.
By Saturday agents are braking down the Peters’ door. Parker’s out with Stacy, Benji tries to quit refusing to go with them. Parker comes home to a wrecked house, April badly injured, and Benji no where to be seen. After bringing her aunt to the hospital, Parker takes the webslingers, and her WIP suit. And heads for NYC. She knows what she needs to do.
It’s the next night by the time she gets there. She’s able to break in and finds Benji, but on her way she finds evidence of human testing. She breaks him out, and he explains more of the situation, how he became more involved than he ever wanted to be, and how they can stop Dr. Connor.
First they go all the way to the top floor, where they find an override passcode. Benji jots it down, and goes to leave the room.
“Wait!”
“What is it?”
“I just, I’m sorry”
“It’s okay!”
“No, no, you don’t get it, it’s me” she pulls off her mask, “I’m the spider”
“Yeah, where you trying to hide that?”
“You knew!! H- how?”
“The voice, the shoes, OUR webslingers, the yards of April’s blue fabric that went missing”
They head down to the basement to insert the code into the backup systems.
Once they leave the office they are Immediately discovered and chased down by security guards, scientists, and Dr. Conner himself
“You didn’t tell me your boss was Godzilla!”
“I didn’t know!”
“What do you mean you didn’t know!”
“I mean it’s recent, Okay!?”
They pass through the building and Benji notably Steals small vials and containers of chemicals, and matches.
After a fun montage of family bonding and running from imminent death, they make it to the lower level.
A final battle against the lizard.
He gets his villan speech and he explains how he’s going to “save humanity” by making them part animal. He has a mutagen bomb set up to go off in X minutes, she is the perfect example of what they could be. Isn’t she being selfish? Keeping all that power to herself? She could join him, they could create a better society, together.
She refuses, obviously
Benji is hit, hard, being thrown across the room into a wall. (bet you didn’t see this coming)
Parker takes him around if the corner, hiding and shielding them from the battle.
“Hey, hey, Parker, it’s okay”
“No, don’t, you don’t say it’s okay I say it’s okay, and it is! It’s gonna be okay just-“
“Shhh shhhhh kiddo”
“We gotta go, I gotta take you to a hospital”
“We don’t have time”
“No!”
“You gotta finish the mission, the bomb”
“I can’t disable a bomb!”
He hands her the crumpled paper, the matches, and some chemical mix he made in a vial
“You don’t need to, now go”
“I am not just going to leave you here”
“Stay in school, don’t do drugs, tell your auntie april that I love her”
The room rumbles rubble fall around them
“Kiddo, your not a child anymore. You have this power. People will come after it, after you. You’re not going to have a middle lane in life. Use it for good, protect people. With such a great power comes great responsibility. I love you”
“Love you too, dad”
Rubble falls separating the two
Parker fights the Lizard one last time, putting the code into the computer, and using the vial and matches to light the place up before escaping.
She waits outside, but there’s no sign of Benji
Cut to her making it home. She bursts in the room. April knows. They hold each other and cry.
Parker vows to use her powers to protect others, and save people, because she couldn’t save him.
Little does she know that some security footage survived, and the media praises and debates over this new vigilante.

Nodding her thanks again for his explanation, she quietly files away the information for future reference. She doesn't have much to ask for, but maybe it would come in handy to know that there's someone she can get a favor from if Rose isn't available. Truthfully, after this whole looters-invading-her-mountain thing, she does have something in mind to ask for, but not yet. It's nothing like a hunting job; it's more of an item-fetching request, and she has to discern something first before entrusting it over. Yuri hasn't done anything to dissuade her trust so far, so maybe she'll know her answer by the time they check the grave. It's ... personal to her.
It hasn't been that long ever since Sorey's journey ended, so Edna knows the land around Rayfalke couldn't have possibly changed too drastically to still retain the exact location of Ladylake. The geography of the planet changes slowly, but still changes nonetheless, after all. It makes her wonder how different Yuri's home is from Ladylake, whether or not he would actually enjoy such a place. Even though they host festivals and the like, Ladylake is still a place of things like a stray fiend found in the aqueducts, or those dumb political heads that Alisha needs to deal with. Ever since Uno became the Lord of the Land there, Ladylake doesn't have to worry about being stricken by malevolence or being infested with hellions anymore, so Yuri wouldn't have much to worry about. He seems like someone who can take care of himself just fine. Just not sure if the festivals are up to his standards, if he has any.
❛ You can be half-whackjob, half-grape, ❜ she casually replies, as if it's a fact. ❛ Half-whackjob since you can see me while a lot of others can't, half-grape since you're purple all over. You can be 'Gruri.' Grape Yuri. ❜ It's nothing said in scorn, but instead spoken with a tone of lighthearted jesting that she's accustomed to pulling out on victims like Meebo and Alisha, simply because Edna thinks it's fun. She prefers people with a sense of humor, or else they're kind of boring.
Though, she is curious about who he's going to take to that festival... He definitely seems more like a people person than she is, either as some sort of magnet for trouble or a magnet for colorful people in general, or even both. She quietly listens to him talk, a budding feeling of mournfulness and wistfulness squeezing her heart for a moment. ❛ I don't have parents either, ❜ she begins, more solemnly than before, ❛ Seraphim don't have any to begin with, but Onii-chan was how I first experienced having a 'family.' We only had each other. ❜ That's why another part of her envies Yuri, envies him for having a support system of more than one person: more than one person who is the entire world to you. There were no aunts, uncles, cousins, or parents. To her, it was always Onii-chan who played every role in her life. ❛ And when he left, I only had myself. I didn't really know how to cope at first, because he always knew what to do when it came to taking care of me. ❜
Something lurches sadly in her chest when she sees that they're finally approaching the last path leading up to the mountain peak she's all-too familiar with. They're here. Just beyond this long, lonesome path is where she always goes to visit whenever she misses him. The topic of her conversation with Yuri right now just further adds to the sting, but Edna sucks it up; lets it dull to a numb ache because she's used to it by now. 'Family' has clearly impacted both of them in a deep, unshakeable way—but while Edna still kept hurting, Yuri endured to continue on. She can tell he misses them a lot, like how she misses Eizen, but Yuri's making the most out of his life and not letting it shackle him. That's an admirable trait; makes her wish she was half as brave. Of course she wanted Onii-chan to come home, of course she wanted to see him again, of course she just wanted their old life back—but there's only so much she could actually wish for.
When Onii-chan first died, Edna had made her decision already: she'd live on, enjoy her life, enjoy the peace that Sorey worked so hard to bring, and she'd be happy. They may be seraphim, but she and Eizen are still family—and family is something that anyone can have, something that anyone can lose. ❛ ...They may be spread out, but they'll still think of you. ❜ She is certain, because— ❛ Because you're ... always family. ❜ A beat passes, then it sinks in for her that Yuri has to worry about loss way more than her. He's human, after all. There will come a day when he's gray and wrinkly, and a day when he'll never open his eyes again, and a day when his heart will stop beating. A day when his family will also go through the same thing. Humans are so ... tragic.
❛ We just need to take this path up and we'll have finished clearing out those idiots, ❜ she says instead, already leading them up the trail. ❛ Hopefully, anyway. There isn't anything up there except Onii-chan's grave, but... ❜ Edna finds herself unable to finish that, brows furrowing. She doesn't want to acknowledge it. Just a little longer. She can endure too. Now's not the time to be weak. She can't be weak. ❛ But best to cover all bases, you know. ❜
"Mm, basically. If someone just needed help with heavy lifting, a job's a job. It doesn't have to be some sorta specialty job. When we first started out we had nothing consistent we were doing, but... in the long term, that's worked out for us. Expands our possibilities." Given that Karol was capable of a whole lot of specialty work just by himself though, that really gave them a boost. If either Yuri or Judith could aid him in some way, there was a lot they were capable of.
From where they were, it was hard to make out any details of Ladylake, but he could definitely see it. Though Yuri didn't know Edna well, he was picking up bits and pieces, and her approving review of the city seemed like a good sign. While Yuri was used to being around people his whole life, the size of this particular city indicating a whole lot of people, his experiences with those residing in Zaphias' Noble's Quarter had been... subpar, to put it nicely. Another capitol that hopefully instead wasn't as egregious would be a breath of fresh air.
Knowing someone who knew the princess wasn't where he expected his day to go, but it spoke for her character at least. Gave him a general idea of her in advance. Trash nobles weren't likely to be on Edna's friend list. Knowing another Seraph was present there was also good to know ahead of time. At the moment, Yuri still wasn't good at telling the difference between Seraphs and humans. Being able to see Seraphs, which was apparently not something everyone could do, could end up leading to confusing interactions if not just anyone could have ac conversation with one like this.
Festivals though... He hadn't really been to many. At all. If anything, he was only likely to go if someone else wanted to. Maybe it was because of where he grew up and knowing he'd be looked down upon as a child and as a teenager (awkwardly less so as a teenager, if only because his looks sometimes got him past that), but he often stuck to smaller local hangouts within his own home. If it wasn't in Zaphias though, he might be able to give them a better chance...
At her question, he gave a humored scoff. "Hopefully I'm not a whackjob. I'd prefer to think I'm not." Granted, he could say whatever he wanted on the matter. Eventually Edna would form her own opinion anyway. Hopefully it was a good one, since this was probably not going to be the last time they met if he started taking work in Ladylake, or if he met people she knew.
Keeping his eyes on the thankfully shrinking trail in distance, he answered about the Lower Quarter - about what really did amount to being his family. "Yup. Everyone knows each other there. I had no parents around like a lot of other kids there, so the adults took care of us. My home itself was sorta... a place where people with nowhere else to go gathered, so everyone took care of each other. It's like having a whole lotta aunts, uncles and cousins. My foster siblings are... all grown now too, so we're more spread out... but they're still just as much family to me and everyone else living there."
He knew he hesitated in saying they were all grown now. He had caught himself just as he did it. It was... hard not to though. The ones who survived were all grown, at any rate. The ones that didn't get to grow older had that taken away from them by other people, and not even just from natural causes. Deaths were expected where they were from, from things like illness that they couldn't afford to cure with their low funds as a whole community, just like what happened to Flynn's mother... but when it was murder, it... stung more for Yuri. Intentional loss of innocent life just... stung more for him. Even more when...
This wasn't the time for that. He couldn't get distracted by that. He was here right now on a job and he was in Edna's presence. He wasn't here to disturb her with the worst things that ever happened to his home and family.
#bravewolfvesperia#°˖✧❀ ❛ peace on the mountains. ┊ main verse. ❀✧˖°#LMAO she's just forcing l.ailah to join this very unintended festival date that she never signed up for like 😒😒#[ edna vc ] don't look at them l.ailah ppl will know that you know them 😒#BLESS YURI-- I MEAN GRURI he is the best grape brother 🥹🥹🥹 she'll see those flowers and appreciate them a lot on the inside 🥹#also i left it up to you whether or not the grave is fine or not ......... you have a power in your hands now ... >_>

I'm in such a shit mood today and idk how well I'll be able to keep it under wraps at work.
For starters, I didn't get to do anything in the mountains this weekend like I had planned on. I didn't get to stay with my sister cause she was too paranoid that they'd charge her a big extra fee for my service dog, cause they were a no pets cabin, and I told her more than once it was illegal to do that and was even in the airbnb policy they couldn't do it. Pissed me off even more cause the whole time I was up there on Friday, her and everyone else, were complimenting the shit out of how amazing he was. Especially compared to the fake service dog that mh aunt and uncle brought with them 🙃.
So because I didn't get to stay I couldn't take a hike like I wanted to. That was also due to the massive amount of rain that they got both Thursday and Friday. So was less upset about that but Saturday's weather would've been perfect and I could've gone in the morning before heading back home. But nope had to do the full trip in one day so 6hrs in the car was fun.
So didn't get to stay, didn't get to hike, just got to go be awkward around people who I mostly don't like. Had to sit through a shit service that was literally just preaching about God and wasn't even about my brother. Fuckin assholes. I hate his dad cause I know he took advantage of my mother's disheveled state to fucking get away with that. The lil gathering we had afterwards of just siblings was more a proper service than that. My mother's boyfriend was a fucking cunt bag as always, so no surprises there other than him bothering to show up and even daring to fucking speak to me. Fucking prick. Shouldn't have opened his fucking mouth. And of course got the whole I want to fix our relationship and get to know who you are from my mother....more shit I have to emotionally deal with.
And to top it all off, I thought I was going to have today off. But found out literally on Friday that I'd be working on Sunday(today). And with a nice passive aggressive message in the email about how you shouldn't assume you have the days off until you are told you are good to go. And basically giving off the don't complain about it vibe. Cause we raised a lil bit of drama and stress when they fucked up our schedule a few weeks ago for an event that we had already wasted money on 🙃. That one was really shit cause we were told we were good to go and then they fucked up the date. Even tho it was texted and written down in multiple places. I wouldn't care so much right now if they would've texted me before the schedule went out and been like, hey sorry but just to let you know we couldn't make Sunday work but we have you for Friday-Saturday, like that would've been fine. But no I get a nice passive aggressive email message that I see the morning of everything. After I found out all of my plans for the weekend were out the window. I had hoped I'd at least have the weekend. Cause I knew I wasn't going to be fully functional by today. I guess at least I have tomorrow off. Fucking stupid tho. I could just call out...I hate calling out tho. Just don't like doing that to people.
But yeah, the service was shit, I didn't get to do anything I planned on this weekend, and I didn't get all the days off and instead of just being told I got to read that shitty email about it. It's been great, I'm totally not pissed off at all. I might need to ask for a session this week idk if I can wait till next week. We'll see. Just like we'll see how today goes. I have made up my mind and I don't want to go for that stupid management position. I don't want salary. I don't want to do the scummy shit their doing. I'm good, I'm going to fucking buckle down and write this book and who knows, maybe I'll be a lucky one and get it and others published and maybe make my name as an author. Peace time to finish my shit and fucking go to work and try not to be a total cunt bag to everyone cause I don't want to be there. And I specifically tried not to be there cause I knew I'd still be in a foul mood.

oikawa, TOORU
oikawa tooru appears to have his life together on the outside, but in his mind he still feels like he’ll never be enough
in your relationship, he’s worked impossibly hard to better himself to the point where he’s not insecure which would cause a strain on the both of you, but he still has moments where he lets himself become consumed in his own thoughts
being with you has been possibly the best thing ever to happen to him, but at the same time he’s still terrified of losing you
when his worries start to consume him again, he can’t stop obsessively worrying over the possibility that you’ll find someone better than him, that you deserve someone better than him
oikawa can sometimes hide his insecurities by acting cocky, but you’ve gotten good at reading him so you can easily tell when he’s feeling insecure or unsure of himself
so when it springs up that you’ve been invited to your cousin’s wedding along with a plus one, he’s more than happy to accompany you as he loves fancy events like weddings
you make the preparations together, he helps you pick out a gift for the couple while you go shopping for a new dress to wear
overall, you’re both excited to make the journey back to your hometown to watch your cousin make his marriage official, you both know the ceremony will probably be amazing, as well as the festivities after
when you get there, you’re both immediately swarmed by relatives, exclaiming how excited they are to meet your longtime boyfriend and how happy they are to see everyone together
as the ceremony starts, you’re both on the edges of your seats waiting as you see the bride delicately step past you down the aisle, waiting to secure her vows with your cousin
the formalities went amazing, as all of your relatives sat in tears as the couple at the podium exchanged beautiful vows and the rings were slipped on each others’ fingers
after, everyone moved to the building next door as the wedding was help at a chapel at the edge of a forest, with the after party being a building next to it, walls made of glass so the guests could view the beautiful scenery outside
tooru is more than willing to show off his dancing skills at the beginning, and dinner goes well before your relatives and family get together to do group dances and disperse into separate conversations afterwards
as the lights get dimmer and the atmosphere of the party start to settle, tooru sits at your table as he watches you chatter away with your relatives.
he watches as you speak with such ease, never failing to coax a laugh out of even your stoniest aunts, he can’t help but think to himself how beautiful you are, and how incredibly lucky he is to have you
another man, he recognizes as the best man strolls up to you, striking up a conversation with you.
tooru knows it’s probably nothing, just a conversation, and he also knows you would never do anything to hurt him, so he’s content just watching you talk with someone else.
he watches the scene unfold like a movie, with him as a part of the background, just watching, waiting.
before, tooru would have been filled with a familiar uneasy feeling right about now, his stomach twisting uncomfortably in his body, mind filled with thoughts he wishes weren’t there.
he could only have hoped he was good enough for you.
thinking back through all the years with you, the memories, he remembers all the times you saved him from himself, the world, anything that had ever hurt him.
it was back in high school, the first day of oikawa tooru’s first year of high school, he walked around with his head held high to keep anyone from seeing how low he felt, cocky smirk to hide just how unsure he really was of himself.
it wasn’t love at first, he didn’t particularly remember the first time he saw you, but step by step as you got closer to him he realized that you had one thing his fangirls could never give him, stability, comfort, and home.
he found home in you every time it hurt too much.
the feeling that could only possibly have imprinted itself into oikawa’s conscience was the feeling of being seen for who he truly was, a feeling that he had almost never felt before.
and as you saw him, he saw you the same way in that you could always depend on each other, for every painful moment, every failure, every insecurity.
it was then that he knew he really was in love with you.
even as he cried with his face in your lap in his third year you were still there, running your fingers through his hair and reminding him that he was enough and that you couldn’t be more proud of him.
and as he packed his bags to fly halfway across the world, he watched you cry as he couldn’t believe how much he meant to you.
the final weeks you had leading up to your graduation, you spent as much time with each other as possible, desperately trying to keep hold of the fleeting moments passing between you.
as you stood together in the tokyo national airport looking out at the window over the scenery of the country he had once called home, clutching a letter for him containing everything you had ever felt for him and wanted him to know before he left.
he looked at you with tears in his eyes, like you were the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on, saying goodbye for the last time.
the years you were apart as you finished university while he was overseas felt like a time of awakening, so much had changed in what felt like moments, both without what mattered most.
and he knew while he was gone there were many more people who could’ve found you like he did, and that there was nothing he could do to stop it.
the trust he had in you was all he needed to keep going, that when you came to meet him you would still love him the way you always did.
when you finally, came, and all was said and done, he felt like he never wanted to let go of you as he had you in his arms again, he had almost forgotten what it felt like to have the love of his life so close to him.
sometimes he still wonders why chose him, but it’s enough for him to remember that you did, and that you’ll never let go of him.
the song in the reception hall changes, and tooru snaps out of the flashback that had taken over him for who knows how long.
you walk over to him and you look even more beautiful than he remembered, saying, “tooru! come over here and dance with me!”
he smiles and takes your hand, fingers delicately brushing the diamond on your finger he had carefully picked out all that time ago, that you had both cried tears of joy over when he stood on the top of the mountain to make things forever, thinking he was the happiest man alive.
you were always with him, from when he was an insecure teenager to the words san juan reading on his back.
he can’t even fathom how much it means to him as he holds you close to him, one hand on your shoulders and the other on your middle, round and full with his baby, how he’ll never get tired of love like this.
he kisses your forehead and says, “anytime you want baby”.
kuroo, TETSURO
despite his sarcastic and confident manner as he had grown up, kuroo was shy as a small child
he had a hard time making friends in elementary school at first, but that didn’t stop him from meeting people he would care about for the rest of his life, that he would cherish forever
on his first day of kindergarten, he only knew kenma who was also shy and mostly kept to himself during the day
but there was one other person who was there for him, the little girl who stood next to him when no one would, who asked him what his name was and held his hand on the playground
and so you and kuroo tetsuro became best friends, along with kenma, holding a bond that wouldn’t be separated even when you graduated
it felt like time had gone by in a blur, like the memories slipped through his fingers like water, and now you were all fully grown adults with jobs, with lives, with purposes
and now, it was the tokyo 2021 olympics and kuroo tetsuro was getting ready to watch the competitions with his associates and friends, ready to watch his old friends and acquaintances on japan’s national team
he felt like he could get lost in an ocean of people, but he spots you in the crowd immediately, he could spot your face anytime, anywhere
and so he meets you as you take your places, ready to watch the game begin
as he sees his old friends on the court together, he can’t help but to start remembering his high school days, when you were still young
it doesn’t help either that kuroo becomes painfully aware again of the way that he had been pining for you for all those years, even being one of the smartest people in his grade he still felt like the biggest idiot for just standing back and watching you grow, away from him
sometimes he wishes he could have turned back time, just to go back and tell you how he really felt earlier
but he let the years pass by, watching you drift slowly apart as he harbored his own feeling in order to avoid being rejected
now that you’re both graduated adults with careers and life paths, kuroo’s feelings are still very much present and if anything, he wants to try just one more time to prove he still cares
so he sits next to you, looking over at your gentle face as he takes in your features once again, watching your lips move slightly as you breathe in and out, and he remembers there was once nothing he would do in the world to give up being with you, wishing he had said something sooner
kuroo glances up as he starts to think back on all the times he could have told you how he really felt, all the times he screwed up worse than he could even imagine.
it was your first boyfriend having graduated high school, some douchebag kuroo couldn’t even be bothered to learn the name of.
but what he felt could never be forgotten, as he watched you walk away with another man’s arm around your lower back, pulling you close in a way that he had always dreamed of doing to you but couldn’t.
he was bitter, cold, in a way that he shouldn’t ever have been.
it’s your own dumbass fault, he thought, but that didn’t make him any less hurt or angry at what he had let happen. were you even happy? did someone else other than him make you happy?
he let himself grow apart from you ever so slightly, you saw him just as often and still cared for him just as much, but you could tell there was something he was keeping from you that even he couldn’t admit to himself.
kuroo thought it was over when you said yes to someone else, but here he was holding you in his arms as you cried with a bruised face and shattered heart.
all he could think about was how this would never happened if you picked him, but he was so pathetic he couldn’t even make it happen past his imagination, but no matter how angry or upset he was you still came first.
and he kept that promise as you got older, all he would do was care for you silently as he witnessed your life through the glass that separated you, that he could break but wasn’t strong enough to, no matter how much it hurt.
“are you coming tetsu- chan?”
it was the summer before first grade, he was hiding under the overhang of a bus stop with his hood over his small face, quivering on the ground in a crouched position.
kuroo’s seven year old self looked up at your small face, a hand outstretched as you held your way too big umbrella over your head, waiting for him to say something in return.
he had always hated thunderstorms, he hated the way it felt like the sound and violence swallowed him up, the same way it felt when his parents yelled at each other as he stood in the doorway of his bedroom watching from a distance.
he looked around at the dark gray skies engulfing him, the small threads of lightning painting the skies like blood vessels, wishing it would all go away.
but you still stood there as the rain poured down in your rain coat and small red boots as you waited for him to come out.
he reluctantly started to crawl out slowly, as you inched closer to where he was previously hunched, waiting for him to reach you.
as you stood just past the overhang, he stuck his hand out timidly and you wrapped your fingers around it, giving his hand a small squeeze before you started to walk towards your house together.
he shivered the whole way there, and every time you heard thunder crack in the distance he held your hand a little bit tighter.
when you got home your mother freaked out and called his family so they weren’t worried about him, and then got out warm towels and told the both of you to go take a bath so you wouldn’t catch a cold.
after you were both warm and dry and wrapped up in soft pajamas, which he had borrowed, kuroo felt oddly at home, like he never wanted to leave the safe place he had with you.
even as you had set up a futon for him on the floor, after about 30 minutes of being terrified of the sounds rattling your house he asked to get closer, and you shifted as he crawled into bed with you.
when you woke up in the morning he was fast asleep with your favorite stuffed animal clutched in his arms, a soft expression on his face, and you couldn’t help but think how peaceful he looked.
the truth is, as you made friends with the small boy in your kindergarten class you had already told stories with your dolls and toys saying you were going to marry him one day.
at 13 you had wondered why he never talked about liking any other girls, you had worried he wasn’t interested in anyone at all.
and at 19 you had tried to move on but it was just too hard.
every time you had fallen you were always there for each other, through all the scraped knees, thunderstorms, and broken hearts.
you only wished you could tell each other what your relationship really meant, what you wanted it to be.
and as kuroo sits in the stands of his friends’ volleyball game, he wonders the same thing that you do.
“y/n- chan, will you be my girlfriend?”
sawamura, DAICHI
being in the same class as daichi in your first year of high school had been interesting, he was rather ordinary looking but you couldn’t help but notice how hard working and kind he was, his energy drew others close to him and you could see why he was admired by many
you didn’t pay much attention to it as you were a bit shy about talking to new people and you didn’t want him to think you were trying to hard, so you kept your distance until you were paired together for a project
you were quiet at first as you sat next to him at your desk since he was a bit intimidating, but as soon as he started talking you felt yourself ease up around him, something about the way he spoke was comforting and it felt like you were at home with him even as you sat inside school
you had started to come up with a plan for your project, and you basfully said, “i’m not that good at english, so i hope it won’t be hard for you to deal with me or anything”, not thinking too much about it
“don’t say that, i’m sure you’re great and you should have more confidence in yourself, it will be better for you”, you hear him say firmly but gently from next to you at the desk
your cheeks flush with warmth and you look down, not sure what to say to him next, but he starts talking about your project plans so you turned around to pay attention to what he was saying
things went well with your assignment and you both received a good grade from your teacher, the school day was about to end as it was your last class and you were about to walk through the door when you felt a hand grasp yours and you turned around to face him
“u-uhm, i really had a nice time getting to know you while we were working together and i was wondering if you maybe wanted to be friends”
it was the first time you had ever seen him look flustered or anything of the sort, but you were happy to oblige since you had had just a nice time getting to know him as well
you smiled softly and walked away, feeling excited at the possibility of getting closer to sawamura daichi as he had intrigued you so much in the couple of weeks that you had known him
and so years later after that time you had first met, you were still around each other, he was one of the best things that had ever happened to you
it was a reunion between his old high school volleyball team, you had known how close they were as you were with him during his final year when karasuno had gone to nationals, and how much his old teammates meant to him and the relationship they had
and so you both made your way over to the tanaka residence with a dish you had cooked in your hands, both excited to see your old friends again and witness the ways they had all grown up and changed
as soon as you walked in the door, all the memories you had made in high school came flooding back at the sight of your friends’ faces, although it was strange seeing how much older they looked.
daichi wonders if he looks that old to them too, sometimes he forgets how much time has passed since they graduated.
it felt like it had been only a moment since he had stood in karasuno high school’s gym barking at hinata and kageyama to get themselves together, with sugawara and tanaka laughing in the background and asahi watching with a fearful expression.
and now they were all grown adults, with lives and jobs and homes, some with lovers and some with dreams that came to life.
he couldn’t be more proud of who they all became, the boys he once knew to be scrawny and mischievous would now be standing on the world’s stage and others who had followed their passions found love in what they did.
still, sometimes daichi still can’t help but wonder if you wanted more, when he saw his old teammates and acquaintances from other schools play on national teams and be watched by thousands around the world.
he wonders if you’re still satisfied with just him.
daichi knows he’s not the most flashy guy out there, but you chose him out of everyone else, right?
he remembers all of those times in high school and when you had graduated that people wondered why why you were with him, couldn’t you have found someone a little more interesting, someone special?
daichi isn’t the type to let his emotions get the better of him, but it stung.
it stung bad.
and yet, he knew he couldn’t lose himself just because of some insecurities, things that didn’t really mean anything, but still wormed their way into his head like maggots growing in a corpse.
sometimes he thinks about the boyfriends you had before him, how he wasn’t anything like them, he was unsure if it was a good thing or a bad thing that he was the odd one out.
all his life he had felt painfully....average.
he wondered why people would forget his name just after talking to him, or why they would mistake him for other people, was he really that forgettable.
it felt sometimes like he was just another face in the crowd, sometimes he wondered if that was the way you saw him at first too.
what daichi didn’t know is how you had always seen him, someone reliable, special, valuable like no one else had been to you.
that he had always stuck out to you, he didn’t seem like anyone else in the sense that he always stepped up and did what needed to be done, you hadn’t seen a heart like his in anyone else your entire life.
he didn’t realize how in every class you had together, he was the one that you stared at, that you saw as beacon of hope out of everything you had faced in your life up until then.
daichi’s friends and family had always looked up to him, he didn’t always realize it but they saw him as a hero to everyone he helped, whether he did it intentionally or not.
through you, daichi was able to see himself the way that everyone else saw him.
when you said yes when he had asked you to marry him, it was cliche but he could’ve sworn he really was the luckiest man alive.
but the truth was he wasn’t lucky, he was more worthy than anyone else could be, the person who stayed by your side when no one else would and who made it seem like you were capable of anything.
you were living proof of just how special daichi sawamura was.
and on your wedding day, tears streamed down both of your faces as you got ready to read your vows to each other, because neither of you could fathom how much you meant to each other.
he couldn’t help but think how beautiful you looked standing in front of him , how he never wanted to let you go because you were worth more to him than anything else in his life.
in your vow, you told him just how much he meant to you, and how you were so incredibly lucky to have him, and he couldn’t help but let the tears slide down his cheeks because he loved you so damn much.
and as you sat on your living room couch with a pregnancy test in your hands he cried again because you made him happier than he could ever have wished to be.
it hurt him more than anything to see you in so much pain as you delivered your baby, but the amount of joy you’d bring into the world was more than worth it.
as you held your baby girl in your arms for the first time, he realized all he had ever needed in his life was right here, he wouldn’t have to search ever again.
it felt like she was growing bigger and bigger every day just in front of his eyes.
he knew one day she’d leave and grow up and have to let go, but for now she was still his and yours together.
and knew he was more special than anyone else in the world.
“honey, let’s go watch everyone in the living room, okay?”
you smiled, because the world had given you more than you could ever ask for, surrounded with beautiful people every day and given experiences you wouldn’t trade for the world.

Ok so for the filmverse (including TV shows), leaving out a Lot because I kinda want an overview rather than a massive play-by-play of her life:
Maven Witchwood is the daughter of Kora Witchwood - a healer and herbalist among the dragon hunters and the originator of the dragon root arrow formula, and Viggo Grimborn, as seen here:
This also managed to get long despite my best attempts so, under the cut it goes:
At around the age of three or four, she and her mother end up on Berk to escape their home after a dragon revolt of sorts among the dragon hunters they were living with, as Kora knew of the relatives they have there - Gothi, her great-aunt.
Kora always had the intention of bringing her daughter back to the hunters (and the husband she left behind) but Berk was dangerous too and she had the misfortune to die in an attack before she could properly plan a way back or even tell anyone much of her life before.
All Maven has at the age of four and a half is a fair bit of trauma (that definitely blocks a lot of her earlier memories), a few tales of her mother from the few Berkians who met her and knowledge that her father is supposedly a great dragon hunter, and a few of her things - the medallion that was a betrothal gift from Viggo, a thick tartan in deep purple, and a knife that she used for cutting herbs.
Maven grew up with her only remaining relative that she knew of - her mother was dead, her father unfindable, her grandparents were completely unknown and Gretel had vanished a long time before after being blinded - and that was Gothi.
She has been training to take over the position of village wise woman from Gothi for a long time - which she insists on calling Being A Witch for a very long time - and lives quite far away from the village up on the mountain top so she's not really the greatest friends with the other youths when she's little.
She's not a runt, per se, but she is very intense about everything she does; does not particularly smile unless really given a reason to (she's basically autistic and sees no need to mask); and doesn't particularly want to be friends with them (at least, she tells herself that).
Anyway, in canon she doesn't do dragon training and continues on with her life, never finding out who her father is and just...going on being a bit lonely really (she still ends up adopting a bunch of orphans when she's older, setting up a sort-of orphanage on New Berk for the children without family or friends to take them in).
In the AU however, oh boy:
So she does dragon training because Gothi basically looks at her fifteen-almost-sixteen year old ward and goes You Need Friends and pushes her to do dragon training against her will.
And this...sort of actually works.
Not at first, because Maven likes to say she doesn't care, but then she gets curious about how Hiccup's doing so well and starts this whole investigation which she ropes the others (bar Astrid who's training too hard for these shenanigans) into.
They actually end up breaking into Hiccup's house the evening before the final test and find out about Toothless but Maven convinces them to stay quiet about it because she's curious as to where it'll go.
The arena obviously happens, and then Maven basically accosts him immediately post disownment scene with Stoick to basically be like "we all know about Toothless" and then pesters him with questions about him as they go down to the docks until he basically tells her to stop because he's Not Doing Well. That's when Astrid comes and does the pep talk and they go back to the arena to train the dragons.
Maven comes to the battle as a back-up medic, getting dropped on the sand by Snotlout so that she can look over anyone getting injured during the battle, and at the end she's definitely the one who ends up doing the field amputation of what remained of Hiccup's leg.
For the beginning of RoB/DoB, she's a kind of hanger-on to the rest of the drama because she has grown rather fond of having actual friends and so she uses whatever excuses she can to spend time at the arena.
She also spends a lot of time by the sea as the purple clothes dye she uses for her clothes (and later for her hair because what is an OC if you can't give them purple streaks in their hair?) is made of seashells that you have to dive for (and also she likes to trade the pearls she finds which was more a byproduct of diving for shells).
It's on one of these visits to the beach that she gets accosted by a dragon - a Wavewalker, which is a dragon I came up with on my own because nothing else quite worked for what I wanted.
Wavewalkers - much like turtles - lay their eggs in the sand until they can hatch and make their way to the rest of the pod. Unlike turtles, Wavewalkers leave a guard sentry on watch to protect the eggs which is what this one was doing when Maven made her way down there.
I could go on a lot more about Wavewalkers, I've had a lot of ideas for them.
Anyway, Maven helps him to protect the eggs from Eggstealers and they end up befriending each other to the point that this Wavewalker joins her on Berk (I'm imagining he wasn't originally part of this particular pod or smth, but he joins her for a good reason).
She becomes a full time dragon rider on top of her training by Gothi and her riding a tidal class dragon (and her honestly quite impressive free diving) means that there are probably a few plot points made easier in RoB/DoB but I haven't yet thought of how she fits in there beyond her getting her dragon.
Another thing that happens is that she starts learning archery and knife fighting with Astrid to protect herself as even though she's a healer there would be times she is in much more dangerous situations and needs that.
It's RTTE where things really change. For one, she can relate to Heather and her family situation a lot better than the other riders who (for all their own family problems) do know who their parents are or were. I honestly think that they could play off each other in a way that might make Heather's character a little less annoying in places (as much as I love her) and who knows? Maybe Heather ends up hanging around longer.
There's also the whole Viggo being her father thing - that first comes into play when they see the reaper's sails and there's a symbol that matches her mother's medallion which makes her and the other riders think that maybe whoever these dragon hunter people were, she's probably related to them.
What they don't expect is what they find out at the end of Season 3 during the auction effort where she - who wears a mask to help with being underwater a lot on Brighteyes, her dragon - goes to the auction with Snotlout and sees Viggo up close for the first time and notices his medallion when it comes untucked from his shirt.
Obviously, since Maven's was her mother's and it was a betrothal necklace, Maven can put two and two together: so while she knows, Viggo does not because Viggo did not see her necklace.
I haven't got much further in my RTTE rewatch so the specifics of the rest of the story is a little shaky but I'm imagining that during the whole Viggo-sort-of redemptions, she ends up trapped or alone with him and it all comes tumbling out.
And then he kinda dies, leaving her with a knife and another medallion and she's a bit like...oh. But then she remembers her family with the dragon riders and feels a bit better because even though she found no loving arms of parents to fall into, she does have a family she's created on the way.
HTTYD II, she definitely uses the Grimborn name to confuse Drago; she also has been documenting how to heal dragons with Fishlegs and has somehow managed to avoid being part of the lovey-dovey stuff (Honestly I don't really have a love interest for her but I think Eret would be at least an incredibly funny option, if Maven - who has no-one pining after her - gets the guy Ruffnut - who everyone is pining after her - wants). But yeah I have no particular love interest for her.
She has also been getting ready to officially become the village wise woman because Gothi wants to step back so she can be a crazy old mountain woman so Maven is actually the one who ends up declaring Hiccup chief.
The rest of the background characters don't do a whole load in the films and I do want to maintain the story as much as I can of the films.
The big difference probably comes in the last film because I disagree with it on a fundamental level. Since I'm rewatching the series' at the moment and a lot of Maven's story happens around there, I don't have a lot for what she does here, but it's probably going to change the film to end in a way I'd like more lol.
(because if they really wanted the films to end like the books, they'd have the dragons going away slowly, y'know, like they do in the books).
(that and how the light fury romance was done is like my main gripe with the third film I really enjoyed it otherwise).
Anyway, this is a slightly everywhere preview of her life.
Ignore the lighting and here are some reference drawing things I did for her (imagine her outfits going from black and deep purple to a grey and lighter purple because I have not yet had the courage to colour them in yet lol):
And here's a Picrew from this Picrew which had limited purple options but I love for the face (hence all the green):
If you have any questions, please ask! I constantly want to talk about her now lol

Anyone want to hear about my HTTYD OC?
#I'm so proud of her#Maven Witchwood#HTTYD#HTTYD Films#Fae's OCs#Fae's Stuff#I know how she acts with each of the riders#and what her dynamic is with each of them (especially inspired by my own headcanons for their home lives/childhoods)#And I really want to write a fic about her because her feelings about her parents are a lot more complicated than I laid out here
