You felt their gaze fall on you as you sat down to eat. You doubt they will ask- expecting them to not even notice you'd been wholed up inside all day as the rest of them played in the water and soaked in the sun. In the soop was meant for you to relax, and that's exactly what you did.

You were handed a plate of ramyeon by mingyu and quietly ate the delicious food. Despite resting the whole day you didn't manage to find something to eat- too lazy to even get up and pause your show. Once done with your plate you got up in the midst of conversation that surrounded you as both your members and seventeen were filled with the contentment of playing around all day. You headed over to the grill and watched as dk and mingyu flipped the meat. "Two more minutes please~~" dk whispered as he kept flipping. "Grab a plate though," mingyu chimed in.

Once you got done eating the grilled meat you were sated. Slumped on your chair sipping a coke is when you were directly asked a question. "Muna where were you all day?" Seungkwan asked. You looked up only to see almost everyone quieting down to hear you.

"Oh I stayed in bed. I was pretty tired right before this little holiday. How was the water sports though?" You replied simply, kind of shocked by the fact that the entire table went quiet (it was almost 20 people around).

"You totally should've joined. It was awesome ," Jiyoon added as she smiled at the memories of that afternoon. You mirrored her smile thinking tomorrow you'd join. "Maybe we can go for a night swin if I really did miss that much ," you requested to know one in particular. That led to a string of hums and nods before the conversation shifted to hoshi and Lisa already tripping form drunkeness.

Almost an entire 2 hours later you were finally done with the dishes. It was like the military you thought as you walked out of the dark kitchen only to see mingyu, dk, yoona, amare, vernon and seungkwan sitting around the verandah in swimsuits. "Muna! We were just thinking of going to help you finish so we can go," Amare lightly said. It hit me that they were actually going for a swim...

"Get changed and meet us here quick, dk wants to see the fish before they all fall asleep" you laughed slightly before turning to change into one of the many bikinis you brought with you.

At the lake you all moved into the water despite the coldness and got comfortable. It was an oddly nice feeling, the chill and the slomo feel from the water. You held hushed conversations with your members and svt as you swam around exerting your muscles that spent the day sleeping.

It was somewhat of an intimate thing- swimming in the dark with these people- you forgot completely of the cameras filming.

That was one of the reason you were so comfortable with seungkwan as he swam much closer to you whispering "are you happy?" In a tone you'd never heard from him- unsure. You smiled and touched his shoulder before nodding "it's hard to be sad when surrounded by such amazing people."

The rest of the night faded into the heavy look from the guys every now and then and the giggles when you and yoona were trying to drown one another- heightened when amare and sengkwan pushed both of us down together.

When you got out of the water it was unbelievably cold and painful to walk. You forgot where you out your shoes. The ouch and ah was heard as you clumsily looked around. "I can't find it anywhere" you said to no one in particular.

"Lemme carry you" was heard from behind you. Turning you were shocked to see dk looking down at you. A laugh found it's way out of you before shaking your head- you weren't a small girl, the internet never failed to remind you of the beauty standards you never reached. Dk was a big guy but still- you couldn't subject him to such. "No it's fine I'll just run as fast as I can and take big strides, if that doesn't work I'll wallow in my pain before the earth akes pity and idk turns me to dust" you said half joking before turning. "I can carry you though..." he said before grabbing your arm "C'mon my mother wouldn't approve of me leaving you here, the rest are almost at the house" that's when you realization the rest had completely gone. Well who were you to refuse at this point. You just prayed your rolls and squishiness didn't disgust him or get too heavy for him.

He casually draped you over his shoulder and got to walking. In the slightly awkward silence you blurted, "if you start shaking you can put me down- I don't want to punish you" before you chuckled, self degradation was funny at times.

"Muna, you're small and plus your soft- I'm used to the hard dumbells in the gym. This is definitely fine with me" he replied already setting me down. Looking up at him you noticed the flex of his arms and realised this man was in fact hella strong. "Thanks," you smiled while looking up at him and his large shoulders and thick biceps. Thank God you were half black or else you'd be red asf. Checking out the guy you're stuck in a house with for 2 weeks is crazy- especially on day one. You turned and got to walking to your room, the chill not forgotten as your nipples hardened. Little did you know that behind you Dk was watching you with his own hardened thing....it was not his fault you were soft and smelled good and small and just so pretty in the moonlight. He sighed, he was gonna have to get himself together before seeing you again. Two more weeks of this was gonna be impossible.

Are You Sure?!

NO! I am not!!! What did I just watch?!? And I am not even talking about the episodes yet!

Yes, I believe Jimin and Jungkook are very close, and in my opinion, likely have a romantic relationship. So I was very excited when their travel show was announced because I love some Jikook content. But all I wanted and expected from this show was to watch Jimin and Jungkook having fun together before their military enlistment. Of course I figured there would be cute and sus moments, but I expected it to be no different from In The Soop or some Run BTS episodes. That was my belief right up until they started showing us the promo teasers...

Wait. What?!

I had already raised an eyebrow at the mention of GCF Tokyo. That already had me feeling delulu as hell.

I 100% expected Are You Sure?! to be a "bro" show, and everything we had seen initially fit that expectation. NEVER, in a million years, did I expect the official trailers for the show to look romantic as hell. I was NOT prepared!!! This was the first teaser that full on broke me. They showed so much couple looking content... I mean they freaking showed them brushing teeth together in matching PJS! And that was just the start of it. This is not what you would do if you're trying to play this off as just good friends traveling together. So what the hell are they doing officially promoting the show this way?!

I was seriously confused by that trailer. Like my brain broke. I just could not understand how this was the official trailer. That is what lead to this theory:

And the rest of the teasers just solidified that theory for me because they obviously went with "couple" over "bro" vibe.

Hey I’m new to bts and I love Jikook although I don’t believe they’re a couple yet because. My friend advised me to watch the original bts content before watching the shipper videos because they’re misleading. I’ve been watching all vlives, bang tan bombs, award shows, Bon voyage, and ITS. I am so confused as to what you're talking about. I would bite if u said JK giving Jin more attention but V? What exactly are u watching? I've just been watching in the soop and I just finished the episode with Taekook's awkward date night. To this day I still don't understand it. The common explanations and reasons by taekookers I've seen for it just don't really make sense to me. What are the chances they had indeed drifted apart at that time? Why was it necessary to make a big deal out of their relationship supposedly not being as close? It seems completely uneeded and just drew more attention to them. They where shown being close and spending time with each other in the episodes prior to the date anyway. That's why I wonder if there's truth to it.

To this question I would say, go watch all the taekook content from between Sept 2019 and June 2020 (when SOOP was filmed) and you see consistent content that would suggest that they are at least friendly and close.

You have to understand that BigHit up until this point had side-lined Taekook through cuts and edits. I have speculated that when the new contract came into effect there was an agreement to relax this side-lining.

So BH had to do something to explain the previous 3 years. Out of all the chats in Soop, Taekook's was clearly the most "staged". Now I do think some of the conversations were really, but it's clear something is off.

Tae makes direct eye contact a couple of times with the cameras

Most of the misdirection does not come from Taekook, but from BH editors adding commentary subtitles to push a narrative that they had not been close since they were trainees.

Why wasn't Tae given a to camera soap box like JK was

To me they used Tae's clear depression, where it's likely that symbolic distance occurs not a literal one. Long term couples sometimes experience periods where they can't communicate with each other etc. I feel this is what Taekook were talking about, but BH spun it make it seem like an actual distance between them occurred.

What is most interesting about SOOP 1 is that after this episode they are times when I feel like I'm watching a couple on holiday with 5 friends.

it's also the reason why I couldn't even go through the second episode of in the soop. it just felt wrong? it's okay for them to be vulnerable and it's completely okay for them to show their emotions. as you said, they're human beings and they can't be happy all the time. but their emotions shouldn't be for sale... I'm honestly so tired of seeing idols in tears, sharing such private moments with the whole world. it's their work. when I go to the office, I'm not expected to sit at my desk and write an email describing all my traumas and forward it to all my colleagues. so why should they? why should we know about their private lives? we're not their friends, nor their family. ooh it's interesting that you expected it to be a bangtantv kind of thing. that's not unusual, i think there are probably dozens of factors that go into determining where/how certain content gets released like overall budget (especially if traveling with a crew is involved), number of episodes, duration of episodes, agreed upon types of content within contracts that they and their company were required to fulfill, etc. i'm not a producer so i'm no expert.

personally i had expected it to be only 4 or 5 episodes because i was only aware of the new york trip during jungkook's seven promo, which was only a couple days. so i thought "how much of a show can they make out of such a short little trip" but alas they spread it out into three trips over several months! i was vaguely aware of them returning from japan, but it was so many months after new york, it didn't occur to me that they still could have been shooting the series. i didn't think about it too much after new york, plus jungkook had already talked about it on suchwita so i thought it was totally done. anyway idk!! i love the surprise and i am really happy they were both able to have those memories before they enlisted together. that's probably one of the key reasons this show came to be, which is really sweet :)

Like you (maybe? You had put a question mark) I am jm biased as well. The reason I got into bts was because of his unique tone. I can admit that, yes, jimin has times and days where his vocals aren't up to par, but I believe that it started happening when Bh led him down that higher voice road. I am in love with jm's lower register, it's always been my favorite but the higher tone .....for some reason I don't think it's his actual voice, if it was, he would've started out with it.

I like jk as well, jk on a vocal level is good but his performances.....🥴. My time is the most cringe performance I have ever seen. I get second hand embarrassment everytime and I can't watch it fully through. The world cup performance was lack luster as well. Jk as a vocalist is good, he's stable and he has that pop boy voice but that's it. There's no flavor. There's nothing about his voice that makes me want to listen to a full album.

And I know it might seem like I'm hating...I'm really not. Like you, I voice my opinions, even if others disagree, which I know you might since it seems like you're jk biased as well. Though it seems like you're more jk biased than jm's 🤭.

Anon you might as well dm me so we can talk 🤭 I'll try to answer every part of this

1. The lore is that I was a hardcore jimin biased army from i need u to dna, and then switched sides to become a bts hater due to an avalanche of reasons (not writing that essay here). But through that time I would occasionally check up on them or find myself thinking hmm.... Bts sure do suck, but Jungkook has done nothing wrong ever and he is the Best and most talented kpop boy in the world and I hate bts but I love him. In fact i can tell you the exact time and date this switch started happening. I was already one foot out the door at this point.

Which I guess turned out to be true 🥴 I'm in my 2nd bts era rn, I plan to catch up with everything, and the second I started consuming content again it was apparent Jimin is my actual bias, not Jungkook. (i never resented jimin but liking him and the rest of bts was very cringe. I could write an essay on this.)

2. I think jimins voice does naturally fall in the higher range. Korean karaoke machines have tone settings, to switch songs by girls to a male register and vice versa, and in in the soop they made a point that Jimin switched to a higher range and Tae was like nooo. But just because that head voice comes natural doesn't mean it's usable anywhere besides heavily processed studio adlibs. He has never been able to sing any one of his 'high notes' live and im tired of pretending he did. I do love his lower register as well, as you might've seen in my posts about 'ma city' and 'danger'. I'd love if you sent me some more examples of your favourite of his vocal moments

6. I switched to jk because of his talent but I was jm biased because of his personality and that imo is way more important when it comes to idols. It's just that some people will act fake and be like "noo jimin totallyyy sung live!! No his voice didn't crack you're an anti!!" but im straight up about it. Idc about talent (i mean it doesn't hurt that hes the second best dancer but if he danced like jin i don't think it would change my mind). I first fell in love with his fat ass and thighs, his thick lips and chipped tooth and tiny pinky finger, then realized he's a fairy angel gangyangi baby boy, the self-proclaimed fake maknae, i think he's a person born to receive love and imo the only one who seems comfortable no matter who they're paired up with in the group? Maybe that's eering into delulu teritory but I'm a big 'soft cute jimin being doted on by everybody' truther. He's mochi to me. Jikook has nothing to do with it and I only started shipping it when they MADE me ship it, with adult ceremony and saying shit like 'i want him' in that one seasons greetings dvd

3. I watched my time just for you anon, and it's not that cringe!?? Maybe bc I opened a version with eng subs and immediately clicked out and found one without, so idk the subject matter but his vocals and stage presence are great? You'll have to tell me what you dislike about it. Dreamers is just.... The "of bts" is bigger than "jungkook" and that's obvious. He definitely wouldn't be able to make it without a group, but I don't think any of them would.

4. You're absolutely right that he's flavourless!! And posting your opinions is good, you should absolutely do it publicly!!! That's the problem with being a jack of all trades- he's a master of none. I get the appeal of any of the rest of the tannies vocal tones. And literally every time there's confusion about who is singing, jungkook the chameleon is at the crime scene. He's just a blank slate in life too, it's insane. He's the only idol who can genuinely go from cutie bunny to sexy sangnamja and pull off the edgy pierced tattoed look as well as the innocent flower boy vibe. And I'm saying that sincerely. There's a reason his stereotyping in fanfic ranges so wildly, from jock to nerd and from alpha to omega. I get what you mean about not desiring a full solo album from him but I'm in the majority boat of 'as long as the song is good idc who sings it' and that's why he has the potential to do well internationaly.

5. About stage presence.... I just watched 6 hours of fancams trying to formulate my point and ended up more confused than I was before 🫠. I'll try to sum it up.

Hoseok performs like he was born to do it. His facial expressions are an equal part of his dancing as his body, and he dances like he would die of he couldn't. He's an entertainer, a performer, he's energetic and electric on the stage, and in my mind's eye I cant even imagine him slacking off the way I'm about to describe for Jimin. I wouldn't say he owns the stage, but he definitely owns the largest part of it while still working in harmony with the rest of the team.

Jungkook is an idol group Center. And I specifically mean the jpop senbatsu model, where they all dance the same dance, no formations, but there is one fixed Center for every single. Jungkook is that. He's the one who will stand in the middle, represent the group while people dance and rap to the left and right of him. He's the one who will do the basic choreography so that the rest can add their flares to it, the one who will sing the whole song in the studio so that others can give their adlibs and harmonies. He will face the public head-on and he does it great

And here is the main difference between both of them vs jimin, and in my view the most important measure of stage presence: Eyes.

Specifically, where are your eyes when the camera isn't on you?

Everyone talks about Jimin's sexy gaze. Sure, fine. He has his killer parts. He has the moments in the songs tailor made for the camera to zoom in on him and capture his sexy expression. But... When that camera leaves and moves on to the next member... The audience is still there. And that's what Jimin seems to forget.

His default seems to be looking at the floor. He often seems like he's there just to dance, like he's counting the beats in his head, just waiting for His Part, or hyping himself up to Make A Facial Expression. His face doesn't dance like Hoseok's does, expressing the emotions of each song perfectly- he doesn't look straight on at the audience like Jungkook does, cocky and confident. He has two moods- serious and goofy. He's serious most of the time. Which means most of the time he looks and acts like a very good back up dancer, who is occasionally VERY GOOD at posing for the camera. And that's my other point- his face doesn't dance, it poses. There's a reason why in my time in the fandom I always saved fantakens of him but never watched any fancams. He's good at Posing. And making that face. And raising that eyebrow, or winking, or splaying out that tongue (something he does A Lot). He's good at being coquettish and flirty and inviting. For a few seconds before he gets... Embarrassed. It's all so scripted. It's all pre-planned, never spontaneous like H and Jk seem to be.

As I said, I watched fancams up to dna + fake love and boy with luv. Reflective on my opinion on him as a whole, I think he does marginally better in concepts like bwl, where he doesn't feel the pressure of being sexy- he can play around a bit and be goofy. Nothing is more emblematic of this than his war of hormone era fancams, which I watched and literally GASPED because.. That's what I want from him!!! Always!!!! That playfulness, that flirting with the audience, not just the camera!!! If you're still reading this, please go watch a woh era jimin fancam. It will change your life.

So I guess you can say I'm being too subjective and some people will find his blank expression and dead eyes very sexy. Sure. But I will forever prefer him SMILING to him doing any other expression (which all seem to blur into nothing) and I sincerely hope in my journey through the rest of their career I will find more instances of him owning the stage. I'll update. But having seen snippets of like crazy and some other songs... I doubt it 😔

I don't know, with a lot of things going on, I found myself seeking refuge on the member's solo mixtapes (the rap line; mono and d-2 are definitely the to-go playlist while do you, d-1 and Hopeworld are the ones you would love to blast loudly on the speakers 😅) and how relatable their songs are; so hell yes: I'm excited for all of the member's single albums (empty pockets though 😅).

But is it only me or I'm not the only one who's getting anxious and excited with JM? Like, the man is hella mysterious and with how J-Hope is taking the lead for chapter 2, I simply can't wait.

PS: Is it only me or minimoni have a lot in common like- you could sit with them all day and listen to them talk and how interesting and philosophical their conversation would be? Same w/ Jin and Yoongi, I love listening to them have heart to heart conversations like the one in bon voyage 4 and in the soop 1. And if you want to feel even more single, you can go ahead and watch Jikook in basically every single interaction 😂😅.

I think one of the reasons why many of us are especially excited and looking forward to Jimin's album is because we don't know much or haven't known much of Jimin's musical taste outside of BTS. He is the member who has released the least number of songs outside of BTS, whether covers or original songs, correct me if I'm wrong so that generates more anticipation. The songs he has released, such as 'Promise', are beautiful, soulful and much calmer than the solo songs he has done in the group and as you say, Jimin is much more mysterious or private than many would like to admit so expectations are HIGH! Jimin and Joon's conversations should be quite deep. Jimin is an extremely intelligent and insightful person and I think that is one of the reasons Joon respects and values Jimin's opinion so much. I seem to remember that Jimin also likes art, going to museums and so on, he just doesn't talk about it. Jimin doesn't talk about many things, for a person who seems to be quite open he really is extremely private about EVERYTHING. I would love to have a conversation with Jimin, Yoongi and Joon. I feel it would last HOURS and we would cover a lot of topics.

It's very normal for Jikook to be close. What's not normal is if they are not close. I'd say this for every pair in BTS but especially so for Jikook.

Let's get out of our shipper minds for a moment, it was JK's role to make Jimin feel as comfortable as possible within the group from day one given that they are from the same town and he was one of the first members to join the group before Jimin. He was that 'familiar' face in a strange place for him and was and should have been.

It can be lonely sometimes when you find yourself in new places or surrounded by people you feel out of place with. And it's common to want to tether yourself to that piece that is familiar to you. Can't speak for Kook but I know for Jimin JK and BTS was that for him. They were his home away from home. He gets lonely without them 🤷🏾‍♀️

Jungkook's is another case.

His perspective on life in general seems to have had a drastic shift which is quite fascinating. “Is this where you wanted to come?” Vernon asked, staring at the empty fields of seemingly endless green grass through the car window.

Night was approaching and you two arrived at this strange yet peaceful location right after sunset. On the way here, you insisted on driving, allowing Vernon to watch the passing sunset.

“What's with that tone? Do you not like it? Is it too basic for a last day of summer hangout?” You asked jokingly, getting out of the car.

Vernon quickly followed out while shaking his head. “No, I like that it's basic. The breeze is nice up here too.”

You looked over at Vernon with a smile, putting the car keys in your pocket. You knew that Vernon was quite simple, he preferred comfort over fancy and quiet over loud, so for the last day of August, you decided to take him to this place. It was a plains area with semi-tall grass and you were able to get a beautiful view of the mountains from here.

“This place is usually packed during the summer,” You said, walking to stand next to Vernon who was busy having his jaw dropped from the stunning scenery. “That's why I wanted to take you here at the end of summer so that it wouldn't be so crowded.”

“It sure is beautiful here,” Vernon said, turning to you with a thankful smile and his arms wide open. “Thank you so much for taking me here. You surely know me best, Y/N.”

You smiled shyly. Whenever your boyfriend said things like that, your heart would go crazy, jumping from joy. You didn't hesitate to walk into his arms and press the side of your face against his chest, your arms wrapping around his waist as his large hands patted your back.

“It's not just the valley that I want you to see. Wait until night falls, that's when the beauty of this place truly comes to life.”

“Oh really?” He replied, his nose sniffing the beautiful fragrance of your hair.

In his head, he was thinking that maybe this large field of grass had fireflies. However, he wanted it to be like a surprise, so he decided not to think about it anymore and instead, laid down against the grass with you. You took out your phone and began playing some music; a mix of sentimental and nostalgic songs you picked, along with some of Vernon's favorites.

“You really know how to set the mood,” Vernon said, chuckling at how perfectly the song fit the atmosphere. “But are we just going to lay here though?”

“My main purpose for taking you here was to talk with you. You know, like how we always talk before bed, or when we're watching a movie but get distracted by our conversations that begin in the middle.”

Vernon smiled. His arm was under your neck and you had your arms wrapped around his waist as you two cuddled in the grass field.

“I always appreciated that you listened to me. Even if I don't say anything, you always know how I feel,” Vernon giggled softly for a reason that you didn't know. “Is this what you call soulmates?”

You smiled. “I guess so. I have to thank you too, Vernon, for always being by my side. You proved to me that there is hope for me even in the darkness where I can't see anything. There were so many times where it seems like I fell in a pit and couldn't climb back out, yet, each time, it's like your hand reaches for me and pulls me up.”

Vernon nodded with an embarrassed smile. He caressed your hair and wanted to just close his eyes.

You both didn't know how much time went by. Whenever you two talked like this, you guys would always lose track of time. Your eyes were closed, your arms were holding each other, and your bodies were pressed comfortably together, against the grass that swayed in the passing wind.

The conversation went on for who knows how long, you and Vernon were just thanking each other for the dumbest things, tossing back and forth the words “no, I am more thankful for you”. Finally, you both decided to end that little battle with giggles.

“I love you,” You said softly, holding him a little tighter. “I love you so much, Vernon.”

“Me too.”

You laughed a little. “Can't you say ‘I love you, Y/N’ instead of saying ‘me too’?”

Vernon giggled and said, “Okay, I love you, Y/N.”

Satisfied, you gently opened your eyes.

The surprise was ready. You didn't expect Vernon to have his eyes closed like this, but in the end, it worked out well in your favor regarding the surprise. You had only closed your eyes in the first place because you saw Vernon doing it.

You sat up from the floor and patted his knee. “Look...”

Vernon opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was a long strand of grass stuck to your hair, so the first thing he did was pluck that piece of grass out.

You turned to him and did the same, ruffling his hair, allowing the particles of green to dust off. You smiled, cupping his face. “Now, look up.”

“Up?”

Vernon, with your hands still on his face, lifted his head to face the sky, being met with a starry night. Stars were glistening, twinkling, beautiful and white, spread out amongst the black sky, almost like a painting. The moon was round and beautiful as well. It looked like he was viewing the galaxy through pictures on Google, but instead, the galaxy was shining right down on him. Mixed with black, blue, and purple, the sky was art on its own.

Vernon's jaw dropped as your hands slipped away from his face. “Wow.”

You brought your knees to your chest and placed your palms together, in a praying motion. “Quick, make a wish!”

Vernon turned to you and smiled, copying your pose. Silence passed through as you both made a quiet wish, with only the crickets chirping.

“What did you wish for?” You asked, turning to Vernon who already had his eyes open, breaking the silence between you two.

“Simple things, just to be with you forever, have you stay healthy and happy... you know, just that kind of stuff,” Vernon said, scratching the back of his neck shyly. “What about you?”

You buried your face in your knees shyly. You two were definitely soulmates.

Vernon whined, scooting a bit closer to you. “Come on, tell me.”

“The same thing you wished for,” You replied, your voice muffled. “Instead, I wished to stay with YOU forever, and have YOU be healthy and happy.”

Vernon laughed. “Oh, seriously??”

You both laughed as you lifted your head. Vernon wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer to him again.

You both stared up at the sky with smiles.

“The moon is beautiful, isn't it?” You said softly, staring at the moon. It was so round and bright, with the stars surrounding it, making it shine even more.

“Wonwoo told me that that phrase indirectly means ‘I love you’.”

“Well, I do love you,” You replied, pecking him on the cheek. Your hands were wrapped around your knees.

Vernon smiled. “I love you too.”

Vernon planted a kiss on your forehead and then turned to the sky again, gazing at the beautiful night sky. His hand rubbed your shoulder softly as your head laid gently on his shoulder.

There was a comfortable silence.

Under the galaxy-like sky, holding each other, you and Vernon beautifully ended this last summer night.

In the soop apart from Jin there was a moment he sat straddling taehyung's thigh, or when he randomly threw himself over Hoseok's back. I think anyone who watches them can notice that. For me it's not like a point period on their relationship but it's definitely a footnote. Gcft is Jk's own project, he did with it what he really wanted to. That's precisely why when we come out of watching it, we could feel there's a possibility they are more than friends. But everything else we see of them is when they are working. Even if they are a couple, they can't 24/7 show that on cam. First of all, if they are together, they are not straight, then they are not out yet officially, and the run, soop etc. is not their romantic outing, it's about ot7, so they would obviously act professional and interact with all members as well. Despite being in a professional setting, when we get behind the scenes, we see them hanging out with each other, while the others seem busy with their own stuff. They do plenty of 'more than friends' like things. There's a possibility they are a couple, but we cant expect to see that always. We really see less than 1% of their personal lives, we don't know what happens off cam unless they tell us. But from the things they have said, it seems like they do spend a lot of offwork time with each other( and they don't have to). I guess my point is, just cause they act a certain way in a professional setting doesn't mean they can't be a couple or that they were and aren't now etc. I think they are pretty mature enough to leave their personal lives aside when they need to, when on cam.

There are little bits here and there that I disagree with, but I feel like I've been repeating myself ad nauseam at this point. If you've been here long enough, you already know what my stance is, so we'll leave it at that.

For that very same reason, just because they act a certain way doesn't mean they're a couple either. The likelihood of them being a couple is as equal to the likelihood that they're just friends, primarily because there's no proof to what they actually are. (This is my take on them, but I know many Jkkrs who would disagree with me.)

My take on Jikook allows me to disregard their general behavior towards one another. So while shippers or even non-shippers will nitpick at every minute interaction so as to prove/disprove the potentiality of Jikook, I'm not batting an eyelid 80-90% of the time. The way Jikook behave around one another most of the time is what I consider their baseline, which consists of a ton of skinship and playful banter, etc. The same can be said for some of the other dynamics within BTS, which is what I'm framing this standard against; as a result, unlike a lot of Jkkrs, none of the typical things they do "intrigue" me. That's not to say that their behavior isn't cute and squeal-worthy (because I enjoy any moment where those two interact), but it wouldn't even make my list of Top X Reasons Why I Think Jikook is Sus AF. But what happens for me is that it becomes a little bit easier to spot when they act beyond that baseline,* and those moments that catch my eye are the ones that make me go 🤔

Anyway, I digress. Anon, thank you for taking the time in sharing your perspective about Jikook. I'm sure plenty of other Jkkrs have similar feelings as you.

Part 2

Once they reconnect the staff asks them to sing again, "Why?" Tae asks "It was going well before" he adds (debatable). Tae decides to talk to ARMY, Jungkook is talking to his flower again, Tae talks about getting a perm, he wants to curl the roots, Jungkook asks how one curls the roots (Good question). "Aren't you the one that looks good in everything?" Jungkook compliments Tae out of nowhere, Tae is flattered “It's good to hear such compliments from Jungkook who looks best in everything” (they're friends again). Tae apologizes for being late, says there was a traffic jam, and Jungkook tells him it's his fault for not anticipating it, Tae gets defensive "You can't do this to me".

There are silent spells where Tae is reading the comments punctuated by trivia about dyed hair, ON mv, the origins of lagebolala, Tae informing us that he passed the first level of English(?). He says his English “grew up but went back down”, that his English name is Vincent (not van Gogh). “Taekook forever" is said out loud this time (which the subtitles correct to "V and Jungkook forever"). Fans ask them to speak in different languages- Japanese, Spanish (they’re not as successful here), Thai, they talk about the weather (they covered everything, I think). Tae stares at Jungkook as he complains about his carnation not being pretty enough, the staff may have said something about the staring, because Tae visibly rolls his eyes at their interruption, he walks away from his seat and out frame once again. Jungkook says “I think some ARMY are dozing off now” (he's not wrong,10 out of 10 for self awareness). Tae is sings Never Not in the background.

Finally!

Jungkook says he should do more vlives because this felt awkward, Tae said it was awkward for him too (setting the theme for In The Soop?). Tae asks staff if he can give spoilers about the album or about Jimin, from Tae's reaction, I assume, the answer is no (Tae and the staff seem to be playing out the Belligerent Sexual Tension trope). Jungkook promises to come on vlive more often, Tae suggests he talk about his dream to make his next vlive funny. They ask army to put a lot of effort into the carnations to make up for the ugliness (I think I'll pass on that). They end the vlive.

Like the other vlive in May, I am left with many questions the most important of which is: Why? Why was this necessary?

The first time I watched it, I went in with no expectations, and still the awkwardness was unbearable. Tae clearly looked and acted like he rather be anywhere else, and Jungkook seemed, rather comically, to be relying on the assigned activity to get him through it, he reinforces this by stating at many points throughout the vlive, that the reason he can't properly engage with ARMY is because he must make the perfect flower, but also admits that he felt awkward, because he hadn't done a vlive in a while, which is true, I think there is more to it though.

This felt very forced, like the company was trying to reach their vlive goals for the month and picked the first two people they saw. Even more strange is them voluntarily pairing Taekook, up until that point it was quite rare to see Taekook together, (of course things are slightly different in 2021). At the time the awkwardness was attributed to the overarching narrative of Taekook having “drifted apart”, but as much as I found this frustrating, I don't think that is the case; surely two people who have been doing this for years can muster enough professionalism to get through one vlive together, which brings us to one of the caveats of said narrative: They drifted apart because fans have made them uncomfortable by shipping them with each other, which again does not make sense; could they not have declined to do the vlive together? And if not, could they have not read out “Taekook” so many times? they didn’t seem to have a problem with the ship name that they apparently came to know of just that day, so how were they uncomfortable all these years?

So what was the cause of the awkwardness? Was it the staff? It must be said that while the staff monitor all vlives, never was their presence so felt, it may be part of the reason, but that doesn’t explain Tae and Jungkook’s own behavior for me, it's not the first time they're surrounded by staff unless there were other instructions to follow, we can only speculate, but Tae and Jungkook couldn’t hold a conversation for long, or look each other in the eye most of the time, so did they even require extra surveillance or maybe they did, if the staff thought the many Taekooks read out could have escalated into something beyond repair. I did start this out by saying that this vlive was far from unscripted, but I would like to rectify that statement to say that apart from giving them a task to follow, the live was unscripted, Tae and Jungkook seemed to be trying hard to be impersonal: Weather? Really?

Going back to my first question: what was the point of this vlive? They didn’t talk about their album or their other projects, they admitted to wasting their time, and feeling bad about not interacting with ARMY properly, instead of babysitting two grown men, could the staff have found two members who were more willing, or maybe do a solo with the one who really seemed immersed with the craft? Was it really necessary for us to see this? Would we have doubted their devotion to their parents if this vlive didn’t happen? By the end of of the vlive I did start thinking, that if Taekook are this uncomfortable being on screen together, then I’m fine without any Taekook content, unless that was their goal all along, then they've done a fabulous job. This doesn’t affect my view on Taekook’s relationship though, as I’ve said, many things have happened since then, this vlive just exists in the grand scheme of things, it does make me a bit wary of “planned” Taekook vlives and other content, more on that later.
