All you saw was red—well, that and the flash of green and black clothing that came up beside you. Cold hands gripped onto your forearms, helping you back to your feet.

The remnants of his magic filtered through your body, warmth flooding your veins. Had you been human, you wouldn't have been standing.

Your jaw clenched as you looked up at the god, tears forming in your eyes from the aftereffects.

"We're on the same team, asshole," you said, voice low and grave. "Don't forget that."

He scowled. "It was a mistake."

"One that could have killed me."

"It won't happen again," Loki said, letting go of you. He seemed to be honest, but you knew you would have to take his word with a grain of salt. Loki wasn't always the most trustworthy person—you were speaking from experience.

You swayed where you stood, taking in a deep breath as you grabbed onto his arm and steady yourself.

"I'm sorry," Loki said, although it seemed to pain him to utter the very words.

"Don't. Let's just get this shit over with."

But Poe has his back to you. You've all just returned from a successful mission and Leia has announced a celebration.

A brief indulgence to lighten the strain of war.

Drinks and dancing are the main priorities and everyone seems to be pairing off with a loved one or hanging out with a group.

"Don't tell me you're gonna hang around with us all night," Finn teases, winking past his best friend's shoulder at you. Subtle.

A protesting Poe's hands land on his hips. "You guys are ditching me? Seriously?"

"Come on, Poe," Rey goads, "there's no one you want to take dancing? You of all people."

Poe Dameron never wastes a chance to shake his hips.

"Well...actually...there is someone," he confesses, "but you can't tell them - "

"Tell who what?" You pipe, appearing behind Poe with a devilish grin on your face.

Poe's head snaps around so fast at the sound of your voice. "Uh, no one. Nothing," he lamely attempts, scrubbing his hand over the nape of his neck as his eyebrows shift boyishly, as if he's in trouble.

"So...you don't want to dance with me tonight? Okay, come on, Finn," you tease, watching in amusement as his mouth falls open.

Rey and Finn chuckle at their oblivious best friend.

"So...you knew? All three of you?" He narrows his gorgeous, dark brown eyes.

"I knew there was someone," you shrug, biting your bottom lip flirtatiously, "but thanks for confirming it's me."

“so, what are we watching?” asked steve from the floor beside the vhs tape player.

settling yourself underneath an array of blankets, you watched steve sift through a pile of vhs tapes, examining the movie titles of a few before dropping them back to the floor.

“you know what i want to watch,” you giggled, hiding your face behind a blanket.

steve dropped ‘the breakfast club’ tape from his hand and looked at you with a disapproving expression. “again?” he scoffed, though you could tell he wasn’t so bothered by the idea as he began looking through the tapes again for the one you wanted.

“i just really like it,” you defended yourself.

“i know you do,” said steve, climbing under the covers with you after placing the vhs tape in the player. “butter or salted?” he asked.

“mmm…butter,” you said after a moment’s indecision.

steve obliged your request, pushing the bowl of buttered popcorn over the blanket to sit between your legs. his arm stretched over the back of the couch, reaching for your shoulder to give it a reassuring squeeze and the title ‘the never ending story’ beamed across the tv screen.

he pulled you in close, rubbing his hand up and down your arm gently, resisting the urge to bury his face in the crook of your neck.

“you’re staring, harrington.”

“can’t help it,” he grinned, kissing your cheek, letting himself linger there.

he kissed his way to your lips, smiling against your mouth as he pulled you in closer. the scent of his cologne mixed with the buttery popcorn, creating a strange concoction that might have distracted you had it not been for steve’s tongue sliding over your bottom lip.

“we’re gonna miss it,” you whispered gently.

“i could quote this movie word for word,” replied steve, advancing to your neck, his warm breath tickling your sensitive skin.

“well, you’re better than me. because i can’t,” you laughed.

“well, you watch. i’ll carry on,” smirked steve, licking the pulse of your neck.

Dincember - December 14: Snowflake

character: Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

prompt: Snowflake

“Are you sure this was the only safe planet around?” Your complaint is nearly lost within the swirling wind that surrounds the two, or three, of you. You tighten your arms around yourself and look over at Din, who carries on normally beside you.

“Fuel was low,” answers Din, raising his modulated voice enough to be heard over the wind, “and no one wants to land on a frigid planet like this.”

You take a dramatic look around. “I can understand why.”

Din’s helmet remains fixated on you. “I’m sorry.” He gestures to your crossed arms. “I know you’re cold.”

You sigh, your breath puffing a vaporous cloud into the air. “You don’t have to apologize. I could’ve found a way to dress more appropriately.” You shrug and soften the wrinkle in your brow. “Plus, you were just trying to keep us safe.”

Din tilts his helmet at you and walks closer to your side. The change in position, as subtle as it is, provides you with a wave of warmth you don’t take for granted.

The moment fades fast as a large snowflake falls upon your lashes and temporarily blinds you. You curse and rub your eye with your frozen hand. “It’d be great if I wasn’t getting attacked by snowflakes, though.”

Din stops, encouraging you to do the same. “‘Attacked’ is a strong word.” His voice is laced with amusement even as he starts to lift his gloved hand towards you. “May I help you?”

You blink a few more times and nod. “Sure, whatever. It should be gone by now.”

Din sets his fingers on the side of your cheek and his thumb under your eye, which remains opened for him to observe. His visor scans it a few times with obvious movements of his helmet before he also nods. “Yeah, it looks all right.” He swipes his thumb to dry the skin there. “It’s just a bit red now.”

You offer an appreciative smile and fight the sudden shyness you feel. “Well, thanks anyway.”

“Don’t thank me yet.” Din unfastens his cape and tucks it under his arm while he unstraps his satchel with the child still inside of it. He puts the satchel on you first as he continues. “I… know the snowflakes can be annoying, but they’re also beautiful.” Once you and the kid are set, he sets the cape over your shoulders. “It’s important to find beauty in the chaos.” Din secures the cape in place and lets his hands linger there. “I’ve started to do the same.” His visor never strays from your gaze.

You give in to your shyness and look down at his hands, your lips still curled up in a smile you can’t get rid of. “That’s… well, it’s profound.” You tighten the cape around you and meet Din’s visor again. “I think I know a great way to start.”

“Yeah?” Din’s modulated voice remains soft as he sets a hand on the small of your back to encourage the three of you forward again. “Good.”

Silence enveloped his car like a thick blanket, encasing anything and everything. Perhaps you'd question it any other time, because when the hell had Steve ever been rendered silent?

But you stared at the dashboard, cheeks burning at the confession that had haphazardly left Steve's lips only a few moments prior.

He liked you?

Liked you, liked you?

No way.

Robin was going to freak out (not that you'd tell Steve that she totally had an inkling that he liked you).

Steve cleared his throat, leaning back in his seat as he crossed his arms over his chest. He looked anywhere but in your direction.

"I can just... drop you off if you want," he said. "I won't make you stay if you don't want to be here."

Your eyes widened as you looked up at him.

At your silence, he continued on. "I shouldn't have said anything, huh? Way to ruin things."

"That's debatable," you blurted, reaching out to grab onto his arm. His head jerked in your direction, eyes equally as wide.

Did he hear you right?

"I like you, too, Steve," you said. "I just... didn't expect to hear you say it, back."

Steve couldn't help but smile, watching you with curious eyes. "Really?"

"Are you kidding me?" you giggled softly, a smile growing in return. "Yes, really. I really like you, too, Steve."

summary: kili will do anything for you.

warnings: physical violence, fighting, battle stuff.

fanfic no. 46.

bolg was one of the fiercest warriors with whom you had the misfortune to be caught in battle. in the midst of your head to head, kili had appeared from behind a wall of stone, ambushing bolg from behind and taking him by surprise. in the struggle, you were thrown to the ground as bolg endeavoured to fight kili off, but you were not so easily shaken.

scampering to your feet and retrieving your sword from beside you, you launched yourself in the middle of the fight, striking bolg in the chest above the metal formed into his body. kili took this opportunity swiftly, burying a sword into his back, trying to unsheathe it fast enough to aim for the neck.

however, despite the vicious blows he had endured, bolg was still quicker, striking your leg with a dagger and moving in on kili who was taken by surprise. but his flesh wounds were deep, and his initial adrenaline was wearing off.

“why are you so invested in keeping me alive?” you asked with a slight smile, barely able to keep yourself upright from the physical exhaustion.

“i told you before. i’m not going let anything in this world, nor the next, harm you,” panted kili, cradling your face in his hands as he knelt before you, bolg’s body discarded a few feet in the distance.

“even if it risks harming you?”

“even if it risks harming me,” he agreed, closing his eyes as his forehead met yours.

“then please, do not try to save my life again. i could not live knowing you died for me.”

kili analysed the seriousness of your expression, determining whether or not to agree to your request. he let his eyes pour into yours, his heartbeat slowing down as he began to relax.

“okay,” he whispered, locking his lips to yours the moment the word left his lips, finally embracing the feelings for you he had allowed to grow and bloom into a well nourished flower in his heart.

Dincember - December 13: Warm

character: Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

prompt: Warm

Finding Din isn’t as hard as you’d imagined it’d be. He’s sitting on a cargo crate in the hull of the ship, cleaning his Amban rifle with all the care of a true craftsman. You exhale, a breath of relief, and make your way over to him. Din’s attention only strays from the rifle when you plop down at his side. His helmet turns to you in slow motion while your arm not only brushes, but budges into his own.

“Is… there a reason why you’re sitting right next to me?” asks Din, his tone favoring curiosity and concern over any annoyance.

You shrug. “Well, you’re just…” you close your eyes in satisfaction and rest your head upon his arm, “warm.”

Din sets his rifle aside and shifts every ounce of attention onto you. He lifts his arm over your shoulders, instead inviting you to rest your head upon the inside of his shoulder. “Are you cold, cyar’ika?”

You open your eyes and look up at him, each movement languid. “A little.”

Din clicks his tongue and holds you closer. “Let’s fix that.”

You nod, your own thoughts aligning with his—at least, seemingly so. Then, he begins to stand, and you huff in protest. “No!” You wrap your arms around his waist in a vain attempt to keep him there.

Din obeys, looking at you with a tilt to his helmet. “You don’t want blankets?”

You shake your head. “No, Din. You’re enough.” You close your eyes again and press your cheek upon him. “You’re always enough.”

Din pulls you in towards his chest, the lip of his helmet resting upon the top of your head. “What a way to warm my heart.” Your lips curl up into a smile that Din can’t see. “I guess we’re both warming each other up.”

You give his waist a squeeze. “I guess so.”

Stranger Things series rewrite headcanons

Dustin legitimately thinks of the reader as his older sister. She’s been babysitting him since he was really little and he was genuinely confused for the longest time when his “sister” would go to a different house every night

He also asks his mom why the reader isn’t in any of the family photos and then gets upset when his mom tells him that the reader is technically part of the family. He literally gives his mom the silent treatment 

Since the other boys have been friends with Dustin for so long, they’ve all unofficially adopted the reader as their babysitter and older sister. The reader is the mom of the group before Steve makes it onto the scene

One time the reader takes the boys to the mall and they all wander off and get lost so she threatens to get backpack leashes for them (idk if those were a things in the 80s but if they were, the boys were DEFINITELY leash kids)

Dustin decides to test the reader on that threat and a day later, he’s walking around the mall with a backpack leash

The reader picks Dustin up from school one day and he’s crying from being bullied so the reader buys him ice cream and cuddles with him until he falls asleep on the couch

Once he’s asleep, the reader takes a baseball bat to the bullies’ mailboxes

The reader helps Dustin with his Halloween costumes every year. She’s not the best at sewing or anything like that but Dustin is happy that she’s willing to help him

Dustin slips up and calls the reader “mom” once and the reader cries from happiness

The reader is the definition of a “you’re doing amazing, sweetie” mom when it comes to the boys. They enter something in the science fair? The reader is taking pictures and cheering whether they win or not. The boys enter a Halloween costume contest? The reader literally makes a sign with their faces on them so she can cheer for them

The reader gets lowkey jealous when Dustin starts hanging out with Steve (Dustin was her kid first) but Dustin assured her that he’s her kid no matter what

The reader plays D&D with the boys even though she doesn’t full understand the game (she’s doing her best to learn). Dustin teaches her as much as he can when it’s just the two of them

When the reader is just babysitting Dustin, she reads to him a lot. Like she’ll be sitting on the couch and Dustin will be sitting on the floor between her legs while she reads to him

Dustin won’t tell any of the other boys but the reader sings him a lullaby every night she babysits. Whether she can sing well or not, she still does it every night

The reader loves all the boys, but Lucas goes through a phase of challenging anything and everything the reader says and does. All the boys do at one point, but Lucas’ phase lasts the longest

Steve constantly asks the reader for “parenting” advice

A few weeks after meeting Robin, the reader refers to her as “auntie Robin” in front of Steve and the boys and it sticks

El and the reader become really close, El likes to go to her for “girl talk”

Once El’s hair grows out, she begs the reader to braid it for her

After El and Max become friends, El is super excited to introduce Max to the reader

The reader actually lives in a trailer near the one that Max and her mom live in, which is how the reader met Eddie

The reader has El, Max, Robin, and Nancy over every Friday night for girls nights where the older girls do Max and El’s hair and makeup

After the reader learns about the Upside Down and the monsters, she begs Nancy to teach her how to shoot a gun so she can protect Dustin and the boys, or as she refers to them, “her boys”

New Taglist

It's been over a year I think that I made my original Stranger Things taglist and since then -and I'm only sharing this because it is actually incomprehensible to me- over 150 people signed up to be tagged in my fics. So, first of all, I do want to thank everyone who has done so.

Unfortunately, with such a huge list, there are some problems that come up. Some people have perhaps changed their URLs, or hadn't filled them in correctly, so I have not been able to tag them properly, and also Tumblr has lovingly made a 50~ tag limit per post, which means I have to reblog my fics several times to make sure everyone gets notified which takes a lot of time and effort.

I have also realised that I would like my tag system to be a bit more specific to ensure that people get tagged in the things they want to read and not see the content they are not comfortable with, so I have made a

brief explanation on the update:

from now on, and let this post be an example already, tagging will be done through reblogs of my new side-blog @uglypastels-taglist. this is so I will not be clogging up people's feed, and also maybe making the notifications a bit clearer. since that account will always mean UPDATE!

I am including more questions for even more specifics when considering content/trigger warnings

I will be checking for ages. I have always said that smut is 18+ only, but I would prefer if those who want to be tagged in that content have their age specified somewhere on their blog. Minors/ageless blogs signing up for NSFW content will be removed from the lists.

No idea how it will work exactly, but I have permitted response post-editing, so you should be able to change your answers after submitting.

No worries at all for the delay in response. We've all got lives to live and those take precedent over strangers on a website (no matter how fun those strangers are :))

I had to take a little break from writing bc life and bc writing smut is a little more difficult than I thought, though it's mostly from jumping through mental hoops rather than actually writing. (you can ask @themarvelousbee , we had a mini celebration when I finally was able to write the word 'cock') But I'm working on it and it will definitely be a lengthy thing. Very much a mix of details, tension, spice and all the fun stuff in between. I'm very excited for it and am thoroughly enjoying writing something so new. If you'd like, I can tag you in it once I finally finish and post it?

Though for now, I'll put a little snippet under the cut. One of my favorite little parts so far.

Oh, and it's Sirius Black X Reader (ish) X Remus Lupin bc I'm an overachiever and of course my first smut is a freaking threesome

“You alright there, Sugar? You’re really gulping down my wine.”  Immediately after Sirius’s words hit her ears, she realized that she had indeed stolen Sirius’s wine and was draining the glass while Sirius and Remus watched her. With cheeks flushing, she handed the glass back to Sirius.

               “Sorry, just trying to drown out the mental image of seventh year Remus having a threesome in your dorm.” She attempted to play nonchalant, but avoided their eye contact nonetheless.

               “Oh, so you were imagining it?” Sirius’s eyebrows raised and he stared at her with a smirk on his face and suggestion clear in his eyes. Her cheeks heated again, and she hoped that they would blame it on the wine, however doubtful that was. 

               “Oh, shut up, Sirius. You know you were imagining it too.” Sirius laughed and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her into his side once again and placing an affectionate kiss to the top of her head.

               “I know, Sugar. ‘S’ hard not to.” He slurred slightly and dipped his head down to her ear, whispering for only her to hear, his accent drawling thickly over the words “‘Ts a sexy image, isn’t it? Remus sweaty and tangled up with two people we don’t even know?” He trailed off a moment and hummed in her ear before nipping the lobe ever so slightly causing her to gasp softly. “Delicious.”

               There was no way her blush would be blamed on the wine now.

Hiya Babe,

just wanted to pop in and say that I'm trying my hand at writing smut for the first time (whoop) and I'm already almost at 3k words for the lead up and my consistent rational (both to myself and to my best friend) is that a really long and lengthy smut work is both better and hotter and that your fics (thinking about the Obi-Wan ones specifically) are prime examples of this. Mine may not end up being 34k words but hey, you're a bit unhinged (in the best way possible).

SO thanks for being an inspiration and for the reminder that being unhinged is perfectly acceptable when it comes to writing smut (and any writing really).

First of all, let me apologize for responding to this so so late. I haven't been on here actively for a while, and when I do come on, it's to check on literally one tag before I leave again.

So, writing smut!!! This is fun. I hope it's treating you well and you're having a blast setting it up and writing the juicy stuff. I figured whatever you're writing right now is probably/definitely more than 3K which I personally find so much more fun to read (and write if I'm being honest) than shorter pieces. Believe me, I'm all about porn without plot and short fics, but it's always refreshing to sit down and make a cup of some hot drink to read a nice and lengthy story that has lots of passion.

I definitely agree with you that long and lengthy is better and hotter. Mad respect to short fics, they are sweet little posts that make your heart flutter so quickly, but my heart will always belong to really detailed and well thought out fics that manage to get you looking forward to when the good stuff starts while reeling over the intensity between the characters and how much they're yearning for each other.

And I'm happy you enjoyed the Obi-Wan fic. I wasn't sure which one you were referring to because the only two I have are long but I realized that my second one was way longer than my first because I was feeling lots of things that I could only take out into a terrifyingly lengthy story. Regarding being unhinged, well....I take that as the highest of compliments I could get lol

You're honestly too sweet for leaving this message and I really do appreciate that you took the time to write it out and send it...I am sorry for getting back to you so late!

Poe x Elia from The Only One

I personally have always envisioned Elia as darker skinned than Poe.

I know she wears twin hair buns but that couples picrew didn't have those.

For some reason, I think I am really invested in her having blue hair?

Dincember - December 5: Cold

character: Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

prompt: Cold

The sound of frozen beskar hitting metal alerts you once again. You turn your head to look at Din in the corner of the hull. He’s shivering once again, the muscles of his body tensed as he keeps his arms crossed over his chest. The gaping hole in the side of the Razor Crest blows more cold air in, and Din’s tremors get worse.

You heave a soft breath, creating a small wisp of crystallized air. “Hey.”

Din’s helmet rises from where it’s been leaning against the Crest. He manages to tense even more as he gives you his full attention. Your lips tighten.

“You’re cold.”

Din makes a visible attempt to relax, though another gust of wind foils his plans. “I’m fine.”

“Din.” You form a stern knit in your brow. “You gave all the blankets to us.” You shift the child’s position in your arms, freeing one as you take a hold on the layered blankets over your shoulders. You extend your arm out and offer the free space to him. “You need them just as badly.”

Din’s visor turns to the makeshift cover on the hull before he looks at you again. With a heavy sigh of defeat, he nods. “Okay.”

You smile as you watch him stand and make his way over to your side. “Good.” Din takes his place beside you, his gloved hand touching your own as he secures his half of the blankets over his shoulders. “You were starting to worry me.”

Din tilts his helmet at you, a slow motion. “You don’t have to worry about me.”

You scoff. “You say that like it’s easy.”

Din shrugs, his gloved hands playing with each other on his lap. “It’s just…” he pauses, holding a breath, “I’m the one who got us into this mess.”

“That doesn’t matter.” You speak up before he has a chance to go on. “You don’t deserve to freeze because of an accident, Din.”

Din’s visor looks from his hands to your gaze. He stops fidgeting, instead remaining intent on you.

“You always take such great care of us.” You rest your head against his arm and close your eyes in content. “Let us do the same for you.”

Din relaxes underneath your cheek. His gloved hand searches for your free hand and finds it, the leather intertwining with your skin as your fingers lace together. “You make a convincing argument.”

Stranger Things rewrite headcanons pt.4

Will has always wanted a sister, so he loves having the reader around

There’s about a month of time where Eddie is convinced he’s a Disney princess solely based on the fact that a bird landed near him on the picnic table while he’s waiting to make a deal

Eddie learns how to play the piano one summer just because he’s bored

The reader and Dustin do karaoke every year for Dustin’s birthday 

Dustin makes the reader hold his hand whenever he gets his braces tightened 

The reader calls Steve “Steven” when she’s upset with him 

Eddie lets the reader do his hair in Princess Leia buns on multiple occasions 

Eddie has a deep love of Disney movies. He is unironically a Disney adult 

The group often finds Eddie laying face down on his floor after a frustrating day 

Eddie loves to make goofy faces at any babies he sees

Eddie Munson is a MENACE. He is constantly picking up the reader, throwing her over his shoulder, or tackling her. He is freakishly strong

Eddie regularly feeds the stray cats in the trailer park. He thinks they deserve to be taken care of 

Eddie has the best bedhead. Homeboy will literally wake up with several objects stuck in his hair 

Eddie tried to keep a raccoon as a pet once. He didn’t succeed only because he tried to take it to school with him 

Eddie hangs one of the reader’s necklaces from the rearview mirror in his van

Eddie learned how to sew by watching his mom before she passed/left and now he sews patches onto his jacket 

Eddie once watched the reader make a blowtorch out of her hairspray and a lighter and he swears he’s never been more turned on in his life

After Billy, the reader and Max have a standing date every week where max gets to have the reader as her big sister for the day. They do whatever Max wants, usually watching movies together
