For the Sake of the Kingdom. ||@thebookworm-and-thecat
@thebookworm-and-thecat
It was not a thing that would happen very often, and Mei-Rin was aware of that. While she knew that she was the queen and no-one should stand against her, she still did not feel fully comfortable in her new role. Especially for she had not even come from the royalty. She was from a simple burgher’s family, and only a coincidence had let her and the king meet. And somehow, although he could have just made her his mistress, he had married her and made her the queen of the whole kingdom.
Although the young queen could not say she loved her husband, she liked and respected him enough to care about him and their reputation. That was when certain issues came to light.
Mei-Rin realized the people around her began to gossip. Eyes turned towards her, voices became quieter as she passed by, and she knew exactly what they were speaking about. It was high time for her to announce that she and the king were expecting an heir, and yet, although they were trying their best, she could not get pregnant.
No wonder the young woman got into real despair. Sitting next to her greatest friend, she at last allowed herself to cry. Hiding her face in her hands, she shook her head.
“I have no idea what to do,” she confessed quietly, her voice cracking as her breath hitched. “My lord, the king, will be so furious if I do not tell the world I carry his child… but I cannot lie. I have to give him a son… otherwise, he will push me away, and it will be a shame for me and my family.”

Did It Hurt? || @thebookworm-and-thecat
@thebookworm-and-thecat
“Did it hurt?”
“What?”
“When you fell from heaven...?”
The first thing Inael felt once she came back to senses was... pain. There she was, lying on something solid and cold, with darkness surrounding her. Never had she seen so much darkness. And never had she felt so much cold. Until now, she had only lived in warmth and light, surrounded by beauty and wonders. And now... there she was, with her white gown covered in dirt and mud, something so much different than anything she had known.
Then... then she felt something wet upon her face. As she rose her hand and touched her cheek, she realised it was not just one little drop - there was another, and more, and more... it started raining.
Slowly, she opened her eyes and pushed herself up, trembling from cold and fear. Her heart was still full of fear. Of course, there was only one punishment for such an insubordination, and she should have known that she would be exiled from the heavenly kingdom, after all she had done something that was forbidden. But never had she thought it would cause so much anger, and that this anger could put so much terror into her heart.
Stumbling, she looked around. The area was seemingly deserted, but not far from the place where she had fallen, there were some lights. Did it mean that people lived there? And if so, would any human be willing to help a creature as strange as she was? Dirty, exhausted and afraid, Inael, the one who had once been so close to the Lord’s throne, was not one of them. Although she loved the mankind, she could not be sure if anyone would provide her with at least some warmth for one night.
After all that was the way they were, people. They hated. They ignored the ones in need. They were not always kind. But that was what she loved about them. Their... imperfection.
With one of her wings bent at a weird angle, Inael, the one that had once been an angel, limped slowly towards the only source of light.

Home Alone || @thebookworm-and-thecat
@thebookworm-and-thecat
It was a normal thing, at least for them. Well, there was no other choice for them but to stay home alone as their parents travelled all around the world - not because they were on holidays, but rather because that was what their job was. Their father was a scientist, a very well-known one, who was often invited to different symposiums. Truth be told, even when he was home, he hardly ever had any time for them. Their father, on the other hand, was a tour guide, and that meant she had to leave often and far.
Usually when they left for a longer time, their children lived with their grandparents so there was no worry that something bad could happen. But this time was different.
Their holidays had just started and they managed to convince their parents that they were already mature enough to stay home alone for such a long time. So it was a normal but a new thing, too, at the same time.
“Move a bit, brother,” Mei-Rin slumped down in a couch, grabbing a remote control. “I know you’ve been watching TV all day today, so now it’s my turn.”

Inu: "your hand looks heavy, let me hold it for you" {just a random ask, any au, and thread is optional, lol}
Bonus:  FIRST FIVE ASKS GET A KISS@thebookworm-and-thecat
Hearing those words, Mei-Rin could not help but laugh. Inu could really be so sweet. Leaning in, she placed a loving kiss on his lips, cupping his face in her hands.
They were in his house, all alone for Ikkan had gone to do some shopping. Usually it would be her to do that, but he had insisted on changing that because, as he said, it was way too dangerous for her and the baby to carry too much. Since then she had been resting more, and the baby was growing healthy.
“It is not my hand that is heavy, but it’s never unpleasant to feel you holding it for me,” she assured Inu, kissing him once more. “You may always do it without asking, too.”

'I want the K' for inu and charlotte. {Because he loves to mess with his employees. XD}
Send me ‘I want the K’ and I’ll generate a number2: Cheek Kiss@thebookworm-and-thecat
When Inu demanded a kiss from Charlotte, the latter was at least surprised. The order was at least awkward to her, but she would never let that appear on her face how embarrassed she actually was. Well, maybe a sharper eye would catch a shadow of blush appearing on her cheeks.
“Whatever my Master wishes,” she replied just as cooly as always, leaning in a bit to place an emotionless peck on one of his cheeks before stepping back as quickly as possible.
“Let me return to my duties now, Master, unless there is anything else I could do for you.”
