Feeling inspired by a post I saw a few months ago, I programmed a simple game of tic-tac-toe in python, in a single expression. Like regular functional programming, this means I can't mutate variables. But more than functional programming, this also means I can't

Declare variables at all

Use most loops and branch structures

The resulting program is 1730 characters long after removing all the non-strictly necessary whitespace and contains "lambda" 9 times.

The players are asked where they want to play using a number for each cell, in the configuration of a standard numpad. The program checks for invalid input too.

Tony Stark had met James and Lily after he'd run away to England after Afghanistan. He hadn't wanted to deal with everything that had followed. So he'd gone on a bender. He met the Potters and they spent a month together and Tony agreed to help Lily conceive a child. They agreed that Tony wouldn't have contact with the child until he was eighteen because Tony had already decided to get better and hoped to have his life in order by then.

Tony ends up in Godric's Hallow the night of the attack in his suit because of a message that he'd received from the Potters saying that they were worried and needed him to take Harry. Tony tries to stop them from getting killed but isn't fast enough. He manages to save his son though.

He dedicates himself to rasing the baby to the best of his abilities. He decides to get everyone in his life in on it. The more people to protect his kid the better, right?

Also Dumbledore is pissed that Harry Potter doesn't seem to exist and his plans are already way off track.

After Afghanistan, Tony decides that it is time for him to change his life. He decides that he will change everything. No more making weapons. He also decides to find out if he has any kids out there.

He finds one that passes the DNA test. The thing is he can't remember the kid's parents to save his life. He has no idea when this kid was conceived. Well, he can do the math so he does know but he can't remember anything about the child's conception, and that rattles him. What is he supposed to tell his son when he asks about his parents? His other parents?

He decides to raise the boy and change his life but he realizes that he shouldn't have jumped into anything as he is suffering from PTSD. But he's not going to turn his back on this kid. He doesn't care if the child has special abilities. The boy is his and that's all that matters.

He's been thinking a lot about not having anyone back home except Pepper because Rhodey isn't talking to him anymore since he decided the new direction of his company. This is just what he needs.
