for real, one of my v.favorite things was getting to see Saul & Sky's humble home. it was such a sweet insight.

anon I'm still processing but the glimpses of Saul & Sky home life that we got? I lost my mind. Saul taught Sky how to ride a fucking horse. Saul got drunk every night for two years in that house after Aster Dell until he cleaned himself up (or Farah & Ben made him). Stella came over, Saul cooked dinner. Saul had a library in which he studied ancient languages for funsies. He kept his father's sword and gave it to Sky. They had a little house just the two of them against the world.

It just made them much more REAL to me.

Andreas had been to that house. Andreas burned down the house in which he and Saul shared their own young adult memories. Andreas saw Sky's shrine to him and burned it all down anyway--but first he took one baby picture.

sorry i’m thinking about Saul’s house again thinking about that bookshelf, how much of those were his father’s books, thinking about young Sky listening to electro-otherworld-punk bands, thinking about Sky riding horses through the woods, thinking about Saul on Sky’s tenth birthday giving him a guitar instead of a shotgun, thinking about him putting away the alcohol so he could give Sky the childhood the Burned Ones stole from him and then actually giving it to him, thinking about how Aster Dell could never be worth it but maybe some of it was because it gave Sky a peaceful childhood, thinking about thinking about
