Just a little something to commemorate August’s two closest friends in the valley ! August and Abigail hit it off right away when August first moves in, and she really is like a partner in crime to August. Shane takes a *lot* longer to come around, but he manages to eventually, and they really develop an almost sibling like relationship over the years. She’s incredibly grateful for the both of them and they definitely made moving in sooo much easier :)

Aww, thank you, my best friend actually drew it! She’s an artist, and she draws all kinds of things, but one “series” (ig?) that she draws is the theater kids (because we’re all in theater) and so I have a bunch of drawings that she’s done saved in an album on my phone because I like looking at them. She’s so talented!

Here’s the full image! Well, the image that’s my pfp, there’s actually more to the drawing but that includes other people and I don’t want to share it without their consent, so instead y’all can just have my part of the drawing. When I told her that I had used her art as my pfp she was so happy she almost started crying. I love her so much 🥰

I’m using this as an excuse to show off all her wonderful art, so here ya go! Some of them are going to very obviously be cropped because I’m only showing the parts that have me in them.

This was the first drawing she ever did of me! She drew us all as different Minecraft mobs, and I was a shulk!

She drew us all as fairies, and this was mine! Isn’t she cute?

This is the only traditional piece of her art that I have saved.

She also did the dnd alignment chart for all of us, and mine was lawful good.

This was from a drawing of all of us, mine says “OG” cause I’ve been in theater since seventh grade. There were four OGs, three veterans, and one newbie when she drew this picture.

This one comes from a drawing of me introducing my friends and them all being super intimidating, because they kinda are and then I’m just like “Hi guys! I’m just happy to be here!”

We have a few aus, and this is one where we’re all superheroes/villians and named after Greek gods, this is my Hero Artemis (since this drawing we have changed her name from Athena to Artemis cause it fit the shapeshifting better).

She did this for my birthday last year!

She drew this for our Percy Jackson AU we have with @shellywith2ls! I’m a daughter of Athena, she’s a daughter of Persephone, and Shelly is a daughter of Apollo.

I’ve now hit my 10 image limit, but she has so much art and I absolutely love it! I collect it like a dragon hordes treasure.

very few 'parenting' things frustrate me more than parents who give their screaming kids an ipad, but I think "emotionally neglectful for 20 years and then wondering why their kid isn't thriving/adjusting to adulthood well, so they try to make up for it by being an overbearing helicopter parent" might take the cake.

#at least be consistent in your parenting style #ughhh #'oh no i neglected my kid for 20 years/was unstable (and still am!) and now they aren't thriving. surely it is the vieo gamez and not me'#i s2g if i break up with my partner their mother will be one of the reasons #the sucky thing is generational trauma hopefully gets distilled through each subsequent generation but it is the parents' job #to choose whether they are 1) financially ready and 2) emotionally ready to make that change and give their kids a better life #my grandpa grew up digging through trash for things to eat and decided when he had kids he would not be mean like his dad #and that they would have food on the table #my partner has literally said his mom 'just wanted a kid' and basically baby-trapped his dad #and she was like... in her mid-30s by this point #insane. insane. insane.#i understand baby fever and all that but at least make sure you are in a stable relationship first??#and also my partner's WHOLE FAMILY is like this #just... generation after generation of awful upbringings and kids rebelling and having kids too young and getting in bad relationships and #dealing with undiagnosed mental health disorders #maybe we should just break up at this point idk #delete later #i think i am freaking out because i got news about a possible health scare about one of my own family members so i'm spiraling #thanks for letting me vent. again #if my crap is too annoying PLEASE unfollow me #i don't keep a diary because i'm too immature to do that and thrive on others' validation and i am too broke for therapy #delete later maybe #i might keep this one up just so i can look back on it in a few weeks and be like 'girl u need meds' like hells yeah i do #a good thing that happened today is i avoided my urge to drink the half bottle of wine in the fridge #irish genes be gone from me today muahahaha

All I know about the new descendants movie is osmosis from tumblr and combining that with the media I think of when someone says Alice in Wonderland is making for tbh the movie in my brain is probs very different than what I've heard the new one is like.

And that media is the Royal Ballet's Alice in Wonderland. Its a lovely comic ballet, and my favourite dances are The Mad Hatter's Tea Party (tap! in a ballet! also in this clip played by Steven McRae, who i want to know more about and watch more of his stuff as i have heard good things about from other dancers I know), and the Tart Adage, which is frickin hilarious. (also the way that the King of Hearts just droops around in the background and its like yup. thats Red's dad apparently.)

So uh everyone should watch these clips simply because they're amazing and I love them.

#also i'm aware to an extent that the mad hatter or like his son or something is in the film #but i choose to ignore that character #as my brain already created a mad hatter kid oc and i dont want to part with her or change her #the oc is fully inspired by the ballet's mad hatter #his dancing #tap #and manner #and also colour scheme and outfit #her name is Rhiannon because i like the sound and also can be shortened to Riri which is fun and also the sound of rhi sounds like the end #of mercury #and mercury poisoning in hatters may be like the reason the hatter is the character he is #so fun times #her colour scheme is like a more toned down version of the hatter in the ballet #pinks and greens #with a fashion style that draws from a whole lot of eras from the last century and a half #nearly 200 years really #and also i have this half baked tap routine in my head to ALICE by PEGGY that i adore so that ties in nicely #also idk how much the film used wonderland #or backwards logic but im sure it was not enough #especially with mundane things #Riri shows up on her first day in a 1960s inspired shift dress like oh yeah i wore this because i didnt want to take up too much space in #my luggage #i packed the stuff that would take up the least room #open up her suitcases #eleventy billion petticoats spill out that definitely would take up more room than a shift dress #i love the 60s for her #especially with the wild patterns and colour combos you can see #also twiggy inspired eye looks #descendants #disney descendants

i do think, aside from mercury bias, if bg had been in all season she would have been all wnba, first or at least second. i think people undervalue her because of the rebounding but she is 1000% the worst officiated player in the league, on both sides of the court. so the fact that she's been able to have the performance that she had is incredible, and that she didn't get the acknowledgment really just underscores how much people take what she does for granted.

#i saw something interesting that kim milky basically has her players specialize and so they come out of college less well rounded #exhibit a angel's shooting vs rebounding #and i didn't watch bg in college so maybe i'm totally wrong on this but maybe rebounding just wasn't he job #and then i saw on reddit or something that maybe because she is so poorly officiated she'd get called for too many fouls on rebounding #for it to be worth it #and while i understand the value of rebounding really i do the mercy's problem wasn't that they weren't trying #well sometimes it was but it was that their whole system wasn't designed for it #if you have 4 players on the perimeter to space and shoot 3 #you're going to hope they go in and run the floor instead #teams that rebound well dedicate bodies and time to rebounding #and i believe that it was a conscious choice the merc made to not do that #and if you look at old merc games they struggled with rebounding then too #i actually will have more to say about this in the future but the mercury's style of play has lived and died with dt's style for 20 years #the mercury have the most 100 point games of any franchise #and they are responsible for most of the 200 point total scores across the league #ie their fast break and bad defense lol #and while it's not entirely true - she is not responsible for every result they've ever had - i don't think you get westhead's style of pla #to work without her talent and the penny cappie dt trio in 2006 #or at least it isn't successful and maybe doesn't change the pace of play in the league the way it did #it's also interesting that if the lottery draw goes differently in 2006 and merc have the first pick do they get seimone or do they stick #cappie? i think they stick with cappie bc they needed a true pg and from what i've seen seimone is a 2/3 #and i don't think dt becomes the player the league knows without having a true pg [vs her playing point]#the thing is dt can play point better than most people but i think she plays better when she has someone else there to help #and her talking about oh i should've won mvp in 2006 [when i dropped 40] [lisa leslie won that year]#and in 2014 [best team ever] [maya moore won that year]#you look at the stats and there is for sure an argument to be made there #but it all comes back to post players #and i know wikipedia says maya is a power forward but she seems like more of a 3 sometimes? i haven't watched her enough #but i don't think dt can win mvp in 2009 without that team specifically #which means [and this is my theory of life] that everything happens the way it has to happen for you to end up where you are today

Ive still got 2 more to do from this set! So back in like 2022 I think? Everyone was making pony fusions and I joined in the fun but this time around I wanted them to be their own characters instead of just fusions.

I added more, changed their colors, and altered their names a bit and they look sooo much better! plus I've got a better grasp of how their bodies should work!

I'm certain that i've seen it said before but I want to say it again because i just keep seeing it, there is SUCH a funny overlap in the way Adventuretime and Homestuck portray expressions. Bodies and limbs too, they both have the same noodle-limb-tube-body-sphere-head formula and I'm sure that's part of the reason behind it but both of them consistently produce faces that just SEND me in a very specific way
