I know Mile and Apo fans are their main fanbase and bread and butter but they should have done the press tour very differently if BOC didn't want Mansuang to be viewed as a BL film. Apo and Bas should have been teamed up for the press tour along with Mile and Tong. All four should have gone abroad for the overseas premiers and even if not for one of the big magazines like vogue should have done more interviews and photoshoots together (all 4) for the movie. They should have played around with the pairing a lot more for the press tour. Bas and Tong had massive parts in the movie and according to critics did very well in the movie.They should have been promoted more in their own press tour for their film. The intention of Mansuang was a Mile Apo movie but that clearly isn't what the end product was and they should have promoted it as an ensemble film. This is not even taking into account the actual veteran actors and actresses in the film that got absolutely 0 press. Let the women and older actors in your film actually promote the film to their own fans and that demographic? People don't go to the movies just for young good looking men. They actually had a lot to work with and I think Mansuang would have done a lot better locally if they hadn't completely blown the marketing for this film in a rushed few weeks with overloaded content that followed the BL marketing handbook that they used for KP.

the lack of acknowledgement of the veteran actors on the posters and in the trailer was something @moerusai and I both noticed and talked about. I think we mainly kept quiet at the time because there was soooo much complaining, from the size of the characters on the poster to how often the specific posters rotated at what venues, it just would be piling on legitimate issues on top of petty complaints.

there were well known, well respected actors in the cast who would've been an audience draw. I have a handful of actors I'll go to see a film for, *knowing* they're playing a side character (thinking mainly of Tom Hardy and Ben Whishaw here, who shine as leads and support).

Mile and Apo both made jokes about how difficult it must have been for the artist who made the Man Suang posters to have worked with Pond. there's many fan accounts of Pond's perfectionism in running KPWT... he often seems myopic on perfectionism to the point of missing the main points (here, having a poster that pleased him over missing the overarching man suang marketing campaign...)

I also miss actor mileapo... 😔

not to make riches out of others' misfortune but the WGA strike and the SAG strike did potentially help in getting them on the map prior to White Lotus scripting and casting. There was already some momentum in getting them into the show as guest actors. If that happened it would be a wonderful way for them to get into a series where they're not doing the heavy lifting end to end of fundraising / script development all the way through coming up with marketing. 🙃

the problem with the fandom and having inherited the attitude of entitled musician / kpop fandoms is the constant hunger for new content and getting to see them. film / series take a lot more time to develop. you can drop a single or music videos in preparation for the launch of an album or just as a stand alone single, and most fans just don't seem to recognize that discrepancy in the lift. there were toxic apc solos complaining in August about how the year is "almost over" and Apo had "nothing" as though he didn't spend the majority of the year working on the movie.

anyway the hunger for content makes product promo much more accessible and bite sized... people just aren't patient enough. so many people were mad and antsy when MA were shooting man suang and trying to limit spoilers by showing very little that they threw fits over there not being new content when MA were literally working on the content that is the main dish of the whole meal.

anyway. yeah I agree. fingers crossed the uni icon product will go through relatively quick production and white lotus will pick them 🤞

okay so... i have MANY thoughts and none of them make sense so i'll try my best

I liked the album. It's a vast improvement from midnights but it's just that, a small upgrade. Production wise i feel like Aaron borderline saved the album from being another midnights, ttpd suffers from what i call 3AM Bonus Tracks Syndrome which is that: Aaron providing a breath of fresh air which was incredibly needed after having jack produced 99% of midnights. I love jack and i love his solo stuff but for me the formula swift-antonoff doesn't work as well as it used to and if it does it gives one great song and the rest are just there.

There were three or four songs that really stood out for me. Florida!!! doesn't make any fucking sense to me (i literally had to ask in the gc what the song meant bc i was like huh????) but the production is extremely cool, THE DRUMS????!!!!! GIVE ME REAL INSTRUMENTS!!!!!! I really liked it, it grew on me and now it's one of my faves. So long london is another gem and i remember really liking down bad upon first listen. The smallest man who ever lived is also a song i like. But the rest is just there, my only thoughts while listening to them were "oh... this is cool. i can't wait to never hear it ever again".

Lyric wise... oh boy. Now i don't like to pretend i'm a poet (i'm looking at you taylor) or that i'm extremely well versed with words or that i have an literature degree because i don't, metaphors sometimes are hard for me to understand/grasp and i relegate that to the people who know best bUT the lyrics are all over the place. Again, an improvement from midnights but they still felt clunky and very surface level. Some of them had great concepts but terrible execution and some of them straight up suck. My main issue was that the album felt super repetitive. When i first started listening i really felt bad for taylor, it was painful even but then... the same concept and words kept popping up and it's just more of the same. like i get it, she's sad, she's depressed and i'm not expecting her to write about other stuff if the main subject of the album is being heartbroken or shit. when i started listening to the album i was like 'oh, that's sad, i feel for her' but halfway through it i was like girl if you don't shut up and stop trying to feel sorry for yourself... like there's a moment where the constant repetition of the same thing makes me roll my eyes, especially because she doesn't know how to express it in a different way. it's all pretty much straight forward "we were gonna get married" "you were the love of my life" like i know you can communicate these concepts, these words in a different way!!! why are you repeating yourself so much!!! if you remove some of the songs it makes no difference, it still gets the point across.

as a whole this is probably her messiest album, because nothing, and i say NOTHING makes sense when you put it all together. i know she's not known for making concept albums or for being a visual person, but this album feels incredibly disjointed, it doesn't feel like an album, it doesn't feel like a body of art that was well thought out. the most satisfying part about an album cycle is when you connect all the pieces like the photoshoot, the music videos (sometimes, not all the time), the art direction and overall aesthetic you create for the mkt campaign the pop up shops etc etc, the music, the lyrics, the general concept/theme of the songs and it all makes sense. it's an eureka moment, it's a moment where EVERYTHING makes sense to you, it answers every question you had, why the physical cd is blue, why the booklet uses helvetica instead of times new roman, why the color palette is dark, etc etc. tortured poets department doesn't do any of that, in fact it confused me MORE because with the album art she said one thing, in the lyrics she said another thing and with the promo videos we've seen she said another thing and it'll probably happen the same with the music videos. Which is fine i guess she can do whatever she wants but to me it feels like there wasn't a clear vision, i think it was a bit clearer than midnights but not by much.

overall it's an ok album. i'm pissed because i know she has the potential to do more, ESPECIALLY this being her 11th studio album and the insane amount of resources she has at the palm of her hand. i'm not asking her to create a new music genre, to come up with a screamo album, because that's simply not what she wants to do which i respect but it's so frustrating to see her have all this success and "power" and do absolutely nothing with it, like just call at least ONE more person that isn't from your inner circle to produce your music, at least do that!!! and this is why her last albums felt so repetitive.

idk i was hoping that this album would make me fall in love with her music again but idk, i'm drifting away more and more which sucks but i really can't help it. i might save the songs i like to my spotify and that's it.

I wish instead of mon being self sacrificing so much again in the finale with the “you should live your life the way you should” line they’d let her fight for herself & her relationship a little more. Like she should challenge Sam’s self blame when it comes to the grandmothers potential death (cause it ain’t her fault!! And Sam’s a whole other rant lol) instead of just also pushing sam into this life that those 2 idiots keep telling her is the proper life for Sam. Like I get it she says it all the time she doesn’t wanna be selfish (and I also get that Mon obviously really respects her elders & everything) but it’s also like what Neung said, they have to be selfish if they wanna persevere. And tbh I wish they’d let Mon be more selfish. I guess her inevitably leaving Sam will be that cause she can’t take it anymore (which valid but still a bit self sacrificing cause Sam is her happiness) but there’s also the selfish option they can both take that Sam just took! They can choose each other, they just did it and they can keep doing it. Honestly hate how the writing kind of goes back and forth like this with them… they both need to remember what neung said and fight! like crank up the Taylor swift and speak now that wedding or wedding photoshoot whatever it is 😭 sorry for ranting I just dont wanna watch mon give it all up for real next week like instead tell Sam this ain’t right and run to away with you. Maybe the promo is misleading me Lolol this episode sure went completely opposite of how I thought

I have to admit though I don't entirely agree. I get wanting a little more fight, but fundamentally, that's not who mon is as a character. she's the most selfless person on the show. everything she does is for the people she cares about, including sparing nop's feelings before sam told her it was time to tell him the truth. it's who she is, so of course when it comes to literally the person she loves the most, she's going to put sam above everything and everyone, including herself and her happiness because to mon, even her own happiness isn't more important than sam. and she literally just found out sam's backstory here, only just now knowing how bad her grandmother is. not to mention she'd already been struggling with her insecurities about not feeling worthy enough of sam's love. in her mind, she is not worth the pain and suffering that sam has to endure. she just loves sam so much she doesn't want her to hurt. she'd rather take the hurting. ("i hurt so much" "it hurts me even more")

mon has shown sam how much she loves her each time she's forgiven her and yes she is self sacrificing to a fault, but she knows what she's doing and i think we should trust the process! sam grew up with someone who forced her to live a life that wasn't her own, someone who never had her best interests at heart and wishes her to be miserable and in comes mon who loves and cherishes sam and wants to give her the whole world even if she isn't a part of that. someone who only thinks of sam's happiness

Hello hello 😊 I’m new to the Tarlos universe and have been consuming so many interviews and livestreams to get to know Ronen and Rafael and their roles better and I love their dynamic, on and off screen. And how they talk and approach their roles 💙 one thing I noticed and wanted to ask some longer fans about: if you compare the early IG livestreams of both of them and now the season 4 promo interviews…I noticed Rafa used to be more chatty, smiley and extroverted, bouncing off of Ronen. Especially in the early days. And now a bit more closed off, introverted and sometimes even seems a bit annoyed. He’s still so lovely, and I love his replies and how thoughtful and smart he is. Not saying something is better or worse, I was just wondering why it changed or if something happened? I also noticed he used to be way more active on social media, maybe at some point it all became a bit more overwhelming? And do you feel like his relationship to Ronen changed too? I only know how it is today, and clearly missed a lot. I’m rambling sorry 😃 thank you already, can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Lots of love!

I think the difference in the way Rafa acts can be explained by the different circumstances. In the IG lives, it's just Rafa and Ronen hanging out. In the season 4 promo interviews, they're working, so I think it makes sense that Rafa is a bit more reserved in that situation. It's not just Rafa, either...I think Ronen acts differently in those different scenarios as well. Even at fan conventions, it's a more relaxed atmosphere, but they're still technically working and also in a room full of strangers. I think the lives are probably the closest glimpse we will get to what their friendship is actually like.

As far as Rafa and social media, he's definitely a lot less active than he used to be. He's clearly a more private person than Ronen, which is something I completely understand. It may have gotten overwhelming for him so he decided to take a step back. Or maybe it was just a personal choice for some other reason. I've seen people speculate that his social media use is in direct response to fans who got weird/creepy/inappropriate. I know there were people who did get like that, but I don't know that I can say with any certainty that this is why Rafa changed his behavior. It seems to me like it's a personal thing he chose to do, and it's probably a positive for his life, so as much as I miss his more frequent posts, I say good for him.

As far as his relationship with Ronen, we can't possibly know truly what their relationship is like, but from the evidence I've seen, the only change I would assume is that they've gotten closer after knowing each other for longer. They've gone through a lot together, both on and off set. They always talk about how safe and comfortable they feel with each other as scene partners. Recently, the thing that comes to mind is them talking about the soulmates scene in 4x16. It took hours to film and Ronen had to spend the whole time crying all over Rafa. And off set, they've experienced a whole lot together too, like photoshoots, the GLAAD awards, meeting the vice president, etc. So, yeah, the only assumption I would make from all of this is that it's likely they're even closer now than they were a couple years ago.

Chapter 4 : Photoshoot

"Good morning, [y/n]!" Elizabeth beams as I step into her office. She had her hair down today, and she wore a big chunky cardigan which looked extremely soft. I greeted her in return and sat down at her desk with her.

"So, today we're gonna walk around with the boys for some pictures, I thought it'd be some good promo! I found the perfect spot for some really nice pictures" She smiles and clasps her hands together.

"That's a good idea! What would you like for me to do?" I ask, waiting to hear my tasks for the day.

"Alright, so I know this isn't your job technically, but I wanted to try something for funsies today. There's this app called 'TikTok' where you basically take short videos and people can share them and react to them and stuff and I thought the fans would appreciate some content of the boys! We already set up the account and everything, you'd basically just have to take some videos of them" She smiles.

"Oh! I love TikTok" I respond. "I'd love to do that! Sounds fun" I smile.

"Yes! I'm glad you're familiar with the app! So we're meeting the guys at the location later today, until then I can give you some paperwork and photocopies I'd need you to do?" She asks. I nod happily and do the work assigned to me.

I step out of Elizabeth's car and am greeted by a sign for a national park. It was beautiful, it reminded me of the Banff national park. There was a huge lake and a little dock for people to stand on. The park was empty, I figured Elizabeth got to reserve it for a couple hours. There was a girl there with a big camera in her hands, the strap around her neck, she waved at Elizabeth and walked over to greet us.

"Hi Liz!" She said, smiling. Liz and the photographer chatted quietly as I took in the beauty of the park. I pulled out my phone to take a couple pictures. I then hear the sounds of tires rolling on gravel, I turn around and am met with a black jeep. Out comes the 4 boys were all here for. I look at Jake first. It had been a week since our last encounter. I hadn't seen him since, only the rest of the band. He makes direct eye contact with me, not wasting any time with looking at the scenery behind me. He wore a black button down, unbuttoned until the middle of his chest. His skin looked so soft. He had dark grey pants and his dirty vans again. His hair loose yet held back by some sunglasses. His energy radiated onto me, he was so cool and I felt incredibly intimidated. He finally breaks the eye contact and takes in the view, I step away from his general direction and greet the band as a whole. I feel butterflies swarming my stomach as my mind races back to our last encounter. I shake my head quickly- hoping the thought makes it's way out of my head for now.

"The newbie is here!" Josh exclaims. I nod awkwardly. "Ready to be thrown into the lake aren't ya" He adds and Samuel laughs at his comment, the ice shaking in his iced coffee.

"Josh I'm gonna start giving you the wrong time so you actually arrive on time. What's your excuse this time?" Elizabeth looks at him, with a slight sound of annoyance.

"Sorryyyyyy Liz we were hungry, Sammy needed his coffee" Josh apologizes, taking Elizabeth's hands into his. She rolls her eyes playfully and forgives him, warning him not to be late again or she'll 'shave his precious head' as a consequence.

"Alright guys so you know what's about to go down today, were gonna take a little hike and get some nice shots! I've given [y/n] the task to film a TikTok for us today, so just be yourselves and enjoy the walk! I unfortunately have another meeting I need to attend. [y/n], Josh will bring you back to the office later, okay?" Elizabeth announces, and then heads to her car.

We decide to take the easiest trail possible. The boys even asked the park security which is the easiest one to take. We get our pictures and I film the TikTok as requested by Elizabeth. I started to feel more comfortable around the band, I spoke mostly with Josh since he was the most communicative one. Jake hadn't spoke to me at all today, I caught him looking at Josh and I couple times, but he'd look away as soon as I'd catch him.

As we settle in the car, Josh asks everyone if they had their seatbelts on. I chuckle at his overprotectiveness and watch him start the car. He offered shotgun to me, so I could avoid "being in the back covered in the guys' filth" as he said it. His car was surprisingly clean, I don't know why but I expected him to be messy. Probably because his personality is very.. 'out there'.

"Hey Josh?" Jake finally speaks. I haven't heard him all day.

"What do you want" Josh asks, over exaggerating his annoyance towards his twin. i giggle at his performance.

"I'd love to listen to the demo we recorded last night, I want to see if I can make any changes." He says, explaining himself. My heart beats faster at the sound of his voice.

"Yeah sure." Josh responds. He plugs his phone into the aux cord of the car, scrolling through his recordings.

"[y/n], Jake has been going crazy over this song, he wrote it in one night he says! Crazy guy" He says, looking over at me and then in his rearview mirror- to make eye contact with Jake. The car starts backing up as Josh begins to drive us back to the studio, which was about a forty minute drive. The song starts off with a bang, almost.. angry. I can hear Danny finger tapping his knees behind me, and I see Sam move his fingers to the beat of the song. I quickly look at Jake, and he's looking at me with a look I can't quite make out. Like he's scanning me or waiting for something. The first part of the song is amazing, talking about a fiery-type of love, something about a woman being a hearts desire. My heart is pounding, thinking Jake wrote this. Did he write it for me? I feel my fingers shake at the thought.

Until we get to the chorus.

"Lover, Leaver, Taker, Believer'

Each word makes my heart sink deeper and deeper, dragging it out nice and slow just hurting me more and more. My throat feels tight and my mouth feels dry. I feel the tears start to make their way to my eyes. I don't bother listening to the rest of the lyrics, I just stare out the window until the song ends. Not letting Josh witness the tears coming out from the right side of my face. I wipe my tears- pretending I was just itchy.

"I think it's turning out really good, don't you think?" Jake asks. Josh hypes him up, and the band talks about the song some more until we arrive to the studio. I thank Josh for the ride back, trying my best to mask the hurt in my voice, and make my way quickly to my car. All I want right now is to cry and let it all out, let the pain that Jake has caused me out in the open. I think of the song he wrote about me, I think of the experience we shared. My vulnerability wasted, my first time; wasted. I gave him my all and he tainted it. I cry loudly in my hands, accidentally pressing my horn which causes a loud honk to come out of my car, alerting Josh and Jake, who were parked only a couple parking spots away from mine. Jake makes eye contact with me, but all I can do is back up and drive away.

Away from him.

Leaving him, once again.

It is very weird. I feel like 🐙 could mention H but had to word things very carefully bc of a loophole in their agreement/contract or she was allowed to talk about him more.

I have a theory that they were going to push the deeply in love, happy happy, obviously in a very serious relationship narrative (🙄) leading up to Venice, at the film festival and through MP promo bc they (label, management, idk?) couldn't possibly have anyone thinking H could be queer. And I think people would be even more likely to question H's sexuality if they listened to things the director and producer were saying like "Harry is Tom", they wanted a queer cast and how passionate H was about the story.

Back to pushing the relationship narrative...

- We got the RS article that was basically dwd & 🐙 promo disguised as a Harry article and it included an interview with her as well as the writer pushing a specific narrative

-We saw the pap walks ramp up as soon as they got to NYC, both together and alone. The amount of paparazzi and "fans" they had waiting for them when they left the restaurant was insane and a huge spectacle.

-🐙 was attending ALL of H's shows

-Then we have her other articles, which were mostly written before the Shia/Flo/🐙 shitstorm & they seemed to talk about the relationship more than we'd previously seen.

-In the VF article 🐙 mentioned the quote abt filling up your own cup. She originally tweeted that in 2016. H used it as advice to a fan at his show on July 16th. 🐙 then brings up the quote in the VF article and it sounds like that part of the interview was done on July 29th at the photoshoot. So two weeks after H said it in front of thousands. I think they were going to wait for either shippers or tabloids to connect it back to her so they could use the quote to push how happy & in love they are. How they're obviously on the same page. Blah blah blah.

But then we got the mess with Shia. I think the backlash, the very high possibility that she lied (again) to H & his team about Shia's exit, and the condescending attitude towards Flo, made H and his team change course. I think they were either going to heavily hint at their relationship throughout the film festival or go full on happy couple but this latest mess was the final straw. Obviously only time will tell if it's over but I think H's behavior in Venice was extremely telling as well as 🐙 not being at his shows. We could get a bua soon or not until after MP but I think H and his team would be incredibly stupid to have him seen with her again. I'm just thankful all of this Shia and Flo stuff came out when it did because I really do feel like we were going to have a different Venice Film Festival.

Anyways, sorry this was rambling and long. I could be completely off but I'd be interested to hear what you think.

I agree that the Venice Film Festival could have gone a lot different if the Shia stuff didn't come out, but I'm not sure in what way. It would't change the messy plot of DWD or the reviews. It might have made people more accepting of Olivia as a filmmaker though. She probably would have gotten better press and the focus, more than likely, would have been on holivia and DWD rather than the other behind the scenes drama.

I could see the whole "deeply in love" narrative. It's pretty obvious they were going that way. The Variety article clearly was pushing it, and that was written in July I think? As were some other magazines that had a bit of a roll out around that time.

I'm not sure which direction they're going in now. It would be stupid to continue, especially on Harry's part. I could potentially seeing them just fading this thing out. It might be down low for a while and then all of a sudden we get word they split. But I'm not sure. No one knows.

I guess we'll find out. And I'll leave my asks on for the MP premiere at the TIFF, btw. So we can chat if you'd like. that's why I haven't turned them off yet

Honestly, I get really confused when Larries always say H hates being sexualized. If you look at it from an objective point of view, it is very clear that H and his team are using a "sex sells" marketing strategy. He's not uncomfortable being sexualized because that it literally part of their promo plan. Sex attracts attention. Hshq is using sex in their marketing to create an effective and memorable campaign and it's working. He literally advertised the album as being about being sad & sex. 1/2

“He did nude photoshoots. His music videos for lights up and WS obviously rely on the sex angle. If he built his whole image on sex appeal, then why blame harries for sexualizing him? They are doing exactly what hshq wants them to do. Them thirsting over him makes them keep streaming and giving him views. People are hardwired to notice sexually relevant information so it’s smart of his team to use that to their advantage to keep him relevant. Everyone else can see it except for larries. 2/2 + Harry never said he was uncomfortable being sexualized. He doesn’t care because it helps his career and he loves the attention. He said he was uncomfortable thinking about being seen as a sex symbol because it’s a weird thing to think about yourself but he didn't say anything about being sexualized. Anyway, actions speak louder than words, and his PR is all about catering to to people’s sexual fantasies so I think he's more than okay with it”

I’m choosing to answer this because there is.... a lot to unpack here. To start, i’m incredibly sick of seeing people pretending that “sexuality,” and “sex appeal” are the same thing as “sexualization” especially when it refers to hypersexualization. it’s not and it never has been. you can find someone attractive and have that person perform sexuality, at any level, and still not display sexualization of this person. it’s not a complicated concept. there are many facets of harry’s life that has been built to fit a lothario image that does drive off the hyper-sexualization of him as an image and a person, but it goes beyond just his team using it for fan? engagement? the media has perpetuated it as well since he was 16 years old (a child). past “girlfriends” have perpetuated it when their relationships end. talk show hosts like ellen and james corden would consistently push this angle regardless of whether or not they were friends. red carpet reporters have asked these questions directly to his face. past models who have worked with him in any capacity have helped this narrative along by moaning his name and sexualizing him. ben winston has no problem feeding into it. there’s branches that split from the whole that has fed into this goliath image that has been sexualized for ten years of his life.

you also confuse me with the points you made about him playing into a hypersexualized image. you use examples that are so highly misconstrued it feels detached in every way. he didn’t do nude photo shoots. he did one photoshoot that featured a nude and the nude was not in any way put on display as an act of sexual fodder. it was sensual. it was fragile. it was soft. it was a piece of art and seeing as how you didn’t see it that way only falls more on you than it does anyone else. you can be nude and do that without inviting in ideas of sexualization. nothing about that photo screams sex appeal. regarding the music videos..... congratulations, you missed the entire point again. the Lights Up music video was meant to depict his experience with fame and sexualization. those pulling at him from all angles represents everyone wanting a piece of him as he just wants to exist. how his career and life since he was 16 was built off never being his own— he’s always been “on display” for everyone else. he not once touched any of the models, and he ended up riding away from it all at the end of the video finally free. even when talking to radio hosts about the video he touched on how personal that song was to him. yet the media and fans alike drew it differently and labeled it a sex orgy lmao. and with WS..... it’s the media that first drew the hyped up sexual energy tied to that song. the blatant headlines about oral sex which then hyped up fans. yes, they used the video to display oral sex but nothing about that video was sexualized in a way that would’ve been expected. the ones that have a right to be upset about the WS video are wlw because of how it could go about sexualizing the WOMEN not harry.

so again, stop pretending like sexuality and sex appeal is anything like sexualization. it isn’t, and just because something or someone portrays him in a “sexy” light doesn’t mean it’s okay or even appropriate to sexualize or objectify him based on that. olympic swimmers can be pictured as sexy because of the tight clothing, built bodies, and athleticism but that doesn’t green light sexualization of them. antoni porowski can show off his body and pose sensually (even sexually) and that doesn’t mean it gives you the okay to objectify him and his body. i theorize a big reason why harry is often seen in baggier clothes now, beyond his fashion sense, is because without showing any discernible part of his body, it stops those from sexualizing him on his off time. so, has HSHQ used his already laden image and sexuality to push further into this sexualization? yes. has fans been conditioned to think of him sexually because of this ingrained narrative? of course. but does that mean we’re all lab rats being fed what they want and we have no say or conscious decision in the matter? no.

many artists use sexuality and sex appeal in their art and images. men, women, non-binary folk etc., etc. but that doesn’t mean they love being sexualized or have no qualms about it. take for example, halsey. she’s never been shy or against showing her sexuality and sensuality in her work, music, and persona. does that make it okay to objectify and sexualize her just because she does that? of course not. do you hear how you sound when you say these things? it’s very concerning. i’m sick of people wanting justifications for sexualizing artists— especially harry. if this was a woman, this argument for or against sexualization wouldn’t even exist. but since it’s harry it’s okay? i’m so tired of it.

firsts with Choso

Imma do this as a non-curse au and also force everyone to see my vision of Instagram star Choso lol, gender neutral lads~

Content warning: there is drinking

First meeting

Choso was a celebrity. Did he ever call himself one? No. But in the eyes of the internet, he was properly famous, amassing an easy two million followers and counting through his short time on Instagram

Posting mainly fashion content, it was no surprise that he had hundreds upon hundreds of photographers asking him to model for them and brands begging to collaborate

His manager took care of most of those things, fielding the serious requests with the not so serious

Which is how he found himself shooting for a pretty well known magazine

There were people shouting and running around even though it was barely pushing six am. Choso hadn’t slept the whole night, his insomnia keeping him awake until the photoshoot. Downing a piping hot black coffee first thing in the morning, when he arrived at the shoot there were already assistants pouring him more cups.

“Choso, hair and makeup is ready for you.” His manager said, putting a hand on his shoulder and guiding him silently to the room. The lights were way too bright here, stinging Choso’s eyes and almost giving him a headache.

Sitting down in the makeup chair with his eyes closed, Choso heaved a heavy sigh as he got comfortable.

“Uhm, excuse me?” A timid voice sounded behind him, from the previously closed door to the room.

“Hm?” Cracking open an eye, Choso looked in the mirror in front of him to see who was speaking. A makeup assistant, wringing their hands together nervously and not meeting his bloodshot eyes.

“I’m uh- I’m here to start your makeup.” Your voice was so cute when addressing him, a little higher pitched than what he assumed was normal. Biting your lip, you slid into the room slowly, standing a good distance behind his chair and looking at him through the mirror.

“Okay, I’ll sit up.” Gulping the rest of his coffee down, Choso sat up pin straight in the makeup chair. Even if he fell asleep in the chair he trained himself well enough to not slouch over once he was in this position.

You began to work silently, pulling out products and laying them down with trembling hands. Your nervousness was cute, endearing almost to Choso. He knew he could look rather intimidating, that’s partly why he had so many followers, and to see you so scared in front of him made a lazy smirk grace his face.

“I’ll be putting your base on now?” Even though you tried to sound stern your sentence came out as a question and Choso blew air sharply through his nose, fighting the uptick of his lips as you fiddled with products.

Choso sat perfectly still while you began to touch his face. With half lidded eyes he could see your name badge swinging from the lanyard around your neck. (Y/N) was printed in large letters, impossible to miss.

A few minutes passed in pure silence between you and Choso could feel your hands shake when you cupped his cheek to apply foundation and patting powder across his face. The door swung open just as you went to swap a few products around, someone had come to take you away for a few minutes.

“Oh, I’ll only be gone a little bit, but the main makeup artist should be here before I return.” You spewed out, dropping the things in your hands against the counter. Forcing a polite smile at Choso, your feet shuffled awkwardly as you flip-flopped between saying something more, waiting for his reply or just leaving in entirely.

“Thank you (Y/N), you did a great job.” Choso said calmly, smiling back at you and taking a sip of his now lukewarm coffee. Your mouth dropped briefly in surprise and your brows rose up, your whole face opened up in sweet surprise. Biting your lip and rocking on your heels, a shy giggle left your chest.

“Bye Choso.” Giggling again as you said his name, you scurried from the room like an embarrassed school girl, gushing about Choso to the person waiting for you as you left the room.

First hangout

The next time Choso saw you, it was to fix his lip makeup between pictures, and your hands shook then too

As the day wore on, Choso found himself completely smitten with how helpless you were in front of him, how scared and nervous you were. He felt the ever growing urge to protect you, even if it was from himself

He’s elated when the team proposes going out to dinner together, both as a way to refuel and get to know each other better since this photoshoot will be a few days long

Heading out into the darkening world outside the studio, Choso makes sure to stick close by you

He’s not standing directly near you, but Choso makes sure to stay behind you as the group walks. He’s watching you talk animatedly with your friends, no doubt other small time assistants just eager to get started in the industry. Your smile warms his heart and when you laugh loudly at a crosswalk Choso chuckles as well.

Once at the restaurant, he cunningly makes sure he’s seated next to you. He doesn’t say anything, but he can tell your demeanor has shifted because you get just a little bit quieter, that nervous energy comes back a little.

“(Y/N), what’re you thinking of getting?” Choso asks you as he looks over the menu. He can hear your breath hitch, obviously surprised he even addressed you.

“Uhm, I’m not sure, I’ve never been here before.” Shrugging your shoulder, you quickly skim the menu. “Is there anything you’re thinking of getting?”

“Hmmm…” Drumming his fingers on the table, Choso shrugs as well. “Whatever you get, I’ll get too.”

“That’s a lot of pressure.” Laughing nervously, you flip through the menu. “I don’t even know what you like.”

“I’ll like whatever you like.” Choso wouldn’t necessarily call this flirting, he didn’t consider himself particularly suave or charming, but from the way you stammered and hid your face with the menu, clearly flustered, told him that most people would consider what he was doing flirting. Especially you.

“Okay but don’t blame me if you don’t like it.” Came your whispered reply from behind the menu, and Choso just knew your cheeks and ears were on fire.

“As long as you pick it out, I won’t have a single complaint.”

First kiss

From that moment on, Choso knew he liked you. It wasn’t hard to get you to come out of your shell and talk more casually with him, afterall he was the oldest of a lot of brothers

Talking with you all throughout dinner, Choso was a little more excited to go to work. Even if you didn’t end up liking him the same way, you could still be friends - something that Choso was kind of lacking

As the days of the photoshoot wore on and you got closer with each other, Choso found himself yearning to ask you to hang out outside of all of this, when it all ends and you don’t have to be professional with him

He knows he only has one chance left at the very last team dinner, a celebratory occasion that is sure to go out with a bang

“Let’s drink to all the hard work we put in these last few days!” The photographer cheered, already drunk and swaying in his chair. No one cared though, everyone was already a little drunk. Choso had a few beers himself and was feeling the beginnings of a pleasant buzz, and it seemed so were you. With a dopey smile on your face and slightly glassy eyes, you laughed a little too hard at a joke across the table with a fruity drink in your hand.

“(Y/N) don’t drink too much, you’re a terrible lightweight!” Someone teased a few seats down and a couple people chuckled in agreement.

“W-whatever!” Sticking your tongue out, you downed the rest of your drink and quickly ordered another. “I deserve to have fun, that photoshoot was stressful!”

It was indeed. Between actually taking the pictures, going to the different locations, waking up early and creating promo content for his Instagram, Choso was swamped. The only highlights of his day would be when you would come to do his makeup or fix it, or these times when you’d sit together during dinner.

“Yeah you do.” Putting a hand on your shoulder, Choso pat it a few times and you easily swayed with the motions. This wasn’t the first time he was touching you, he’d pat you on the back a few other times, but seeing you bend so easily made him laugh.

Choso kept a keen eye on you for the entirety of dinner, watching you down drink after drink and forcing you to drink water in between some of them. It was fun to see you let go like this, he never thought he’d get the chance, and the desire to protect you was coming up again.

When the group decided to go to karaoke after dinner, Choso kept an arm around your shoulder as you all walked to the next location. He kept you from falling and bumping into things and being kidnapped by random strangers you wanted to talk to as you walked by. Getting to the room in one piece, you all crowd in and the party continues.

Choso can barely make heads or tails of what’s going on, there’s people taking pictures and videos of everything, his manager is drunkenly securing another deal for him over the phone, and there’s loud and offkey singing blaring through the speakers. He almost thinks about bailing, but seeing you so amped up and singing along as well has him staying.

“Choso, what’d you think?” You shout over the music ten minutes later. You’re breathless from doing a song and collapse into the open seat next to him.

“You did great.” Choso grins. He can see the sweat on your hairline and he had definitely taken pictures of you singing to look at later. You beam at him, obviously happy to get his approval, and bounce up and down in your seat.

“I have to go pee, do you know where the bathroom is?” Your tiny drunk bladder would truly be the death of you. Helping you up, Choso exits the karaoke room and guides you down the hall to the bathrooms, far away from the noise filled rooms. Waiting for you to come out, Choso can tell you’re properly drunk.

“You good?” Quirking his head to the side, Choso grabs your upper arm as you stumble towards him.

“Choso! I gotta- gotta do something!” Hiccuping through your words, you have the front of his shirt in a vice grip as you square your shoulders in front of him. With a fiery determined look in your eyes, you push forward.

At first, you bump your noses painfully together and a quiet curse slips under your breath. But then you try again and your lips actually make contact with Choso’s. The kiss is sloppy, messy - it’s as drunk as you are. He can taste the liquor on your lips, creating a smooth glide along the surface that makes it easier to slide against him.

Just as Choso is getting into it, his hands coming to grip your waist instead of your arms, you let go. Push him away hard and stumble back at the same time. There’s tears in your eyes, lower lip quivering pathetically.

“(Y/N)-”

“I-I should go.”

“(Y/N) wait-” You run away before he can say anything, before Choso has a chance to grab your hand and pull you back to him and tell you that he’s wanted to kiss you for a while now. Standing dumbly in the hallway alone, he hears the slam of a karaoke room door, no doubt from you.

Slinking back into the room, Choso can see that you’ve decided to sandwich yourself between two other people and avoid his burning eye contact for the rest of the night. You don’t even properly say goodbye to him when it’s time to part, just slip away into the Uber your friends called.

First confession

Even though you managed to give him the slip, Choso still got your phone number from someone before the party completely dispersed

The kiss stayed on his mind for the rest of the night, keeping him up as he played the moment over and over again in his head

By the time morning came, Choso was itching to message you

He had to know why you kissed him, and if you’d let him kiss you again

(Choso): hey this is Choso I got your number from one of the others

(Choso): we have something to talk about

He waited a good couple hours for you to text back. The longer time went on, the longer Choso just wanted to call you and be done with waiting in limbo.

(Y/N): sorry about last night

That was all you had to say and Choso just knew you were kicking yourself over it.

(Choso): don’t be sorry, I liked it

(Y/N): you don’t have to lie to try and make me feel better

(Y/N): it was a drunk mistake and it won’t happen again

(Choso): what if I want it to happen again?

He could see the little typing bubbles disappear and reappear with a fervor. Your mind must be racing as much as his was.

(Y/N): I’m not interested in being a fling

(Choso): good thing I don’t want you as just a fling

There was a nervous sort of adrenaline building up in Choso’s body, making his cheeks flush and fingers tremble, but emboldening him as well to keep going.

(Choso): Let me take you out on a date, I wanna see you at least one more time

(Choso): then you can decide if it really won’t ever happen again

(Choso): deal?

You were silent on the other end reading his messages. There were no typing bubbles to give away your position. Choso was stuck in limbo.

(Y/N): alright, deal

First date

Choso quickly set up a date at a trendy cafe he frequented, one that he took plenty of Instagram pictures at

He could sense your hesitation to go out with him over the phone and he was quick to dash away any second thoughts you had about dating someone that was internet famous

Choso liked you for you, not for what you could potentially bring to him in terms of content

He waited nervously outside the train station for you, wearing an outfit he’d painstakingly reworked a hundred times before deciding on something

“Choso!” You called out to him, rushing towards his figure waiting against a brick wall.

“Hey.” Smiling softly, Choso’s fingers twitched with the urge to hug you, but he held it off. He didn’t want to overwhelm you, possibly scare you off by being too forward.

“You’re here early.” Your eyes quickly danced over the clothes he chose and you let out a hum. “I feel self conscious now, you dressed so nicely for this!”

“You think?” He chuckled, tugging on the edge of the designer hoodie he’d thrown on.

“Yeah, but that’s to be expected of an Instagram star!” Shrugging your shoulders overdramatically, you gestured behind you to the bustling sidewalk full of people. “Should we get going? I’ve never been to the place you suggested.”

“Yeah, lets go.” Choso’s hand hovered over your lower back, guiding you through the people and onto the sidewalk. All it took was seeing you jostled around by a few people walking by for Choso to get fed up and grasp your hand firmly in his, weaving his fingers through yours.

“Stick close to me, it’s pretty crowded today.” He whispered in your ear, pulling you halfway behind him and grabbing your other hand as well and guiding it to hold onto the back of his hoodie. With his imposing nature and intimidating stature, Choso effortlessly pushed through the throngs of people and you quickly found yourself at the cafe in question.

“Let’s go in.” Turning around to face you, he’s stunned when you leap up and peck his cheek.

“Thanks Choso.” Giggling, you sidestep him and go to open the door of the cafe, but you’re stopped by Choso’s unmoving body. “What’s up Choso?”

“(Y/N).” He’s looking at you with scarily wide eyes and his tone is deathly serious. “Will you kiss me again if I buy you a drink?”

“Huh? Yeah of course, but-” You’re cut off from telling him that you’d kiss him without the drink by Choso bolting forward into the cafe.

“I’ll buy you all the drinks you could ever want then. And a slice of cake too.”

Have y'all thought about doing a thread exposing all that GG has done over the years instead of shutting down the years of vitriol hate towards CP?? Ex: Deflecting on his like of the Iris death comment, Meltdown about the bts flash suit pic, His oversensationalization on SM on his love for LA, Copying word for word how to defend CP & Iris from a fan comment, etc. Ppl have been asking about his lack of support for her & others are starting to come to the realization of his cowardice behavior.

That would take time, frankly more time than we have at the moment. But we name some of Grant’s greatest hits in no particular order:

1. Grant posted a bland photo from the world’s dullest photoshoot that he had with Danielle. Fans asked if he could also post the photos from the mini photoshoot with Candice at SDCC. He refused. And then lied about putting together a ‘real’ photoshoot with Candice. That photoshoot never came.

2. It’s still a mystery how it happened but during Thanksgiving in 2017 Grant (or LA) was lurking in Candice’s comment section and out of all the warm comments from people telling what they were thankful for Grant (or LA) managed to find the ONE that said Iris should be killed off and liked it. And then instead of being man enough to own up to what happened he pretended to play dumb while hopping from DM to DM trying to make people stop talking. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work and the like remains on that comment to this day.

3. For once promoted Westallen and posted the wedding photo. It became his most popular post of the year which apparently was a very, very bad thing so he tried to rectify that by buying likes on a random picture of him and LA until he got called out and stopped. So since Plan A failed he went with Plan B and shuffled his whole damn Top 9 so people wouldn’t think Westallen was the most popular thing on his page that year.

4. On LA’s birthday after his ‘surprise’ for her was ruined by the planned photoshoot she just so happened to be in the middle of Grant spent the rest of her birthday going back and forth with fans who called him out on his pick and choose activism. He got dragged up one side and down the other about his lack of support for Candice before finally making a video and repeating almost verbatim what a fan in his comments had said. 😒 The speech was good for what it was but the actions after that didn’t change or improve much.

5. Grant conveniently disappearing from social media when it’s time to promote his black family. He did it back in season 5 when JPK first showed up and he did it again this year when she came back with Jordan. Back in season 5 there were posters (albeit not so great ones) and other photos taken that he could have used but he high tailed it off social media so he posted nothing. So the little promo was coming out for the Westallen at that time was coming from Candice and Jessica only. And honestly whatever his reasons are it looks bad.

It looks bad that he can’t support his black co star. It looks bad that he was more willing to promote and post BTS when his love interest was a white woman. It looks bad that he has a full photoshoot with a side character who doesn’t know her place but refuses to do one with his leading lady. It looks bad that he liked a hate comment against someone who’s supposed to be his friend. It looks bad that his only attempts at truly defending Candice were something he stole from a fan. It looks bad that he couldn’t keep his private life separate and that he got involved with someone who was threatened by a fictional couple. It looks bad that he’s watched his friend be harassed and insulted simply because of the color of her skin and instead of defending her or at the very least denouncing the hate he instead chose to the look the other way and even went as far to say he didn’t even recognize racism still existed until what happened with George Floyd in 2020.

Sadly the list goes on and on and on and on…

Curious to hear your thoughts! do you think that all of the songs on Midnights understood the assignment? as in, do you think all of the songs successfully captured the whole concept of "sleepless nights" and "life-changing mistakes"? and while we're on this topic, do you think the songs match the vibes of the photoshoot?

thanks for the question!

while i think plenty of the songs on the album could pass as songs that have nothing to do with nights (especially with the lack of nighttime indicating keywords), i think there are a significant handful that are not just on theme but also paint pictures of very specific moments for me, which feel so raw and so personal and in this way i think the theme is met.

when i saw the album photoshoot i definitely thought we would be getting more overtly 70’s sounding music but, it for sure feels like more of a mix of styles like lover. and i do think taylor languishing in a moody color palette and lighting fits the album well in general, so not many complaints from me.

one thing is i did think we would kind of be seeing more of her and more of her content in terms of promo, which i think might have helped round out the imagery and look of the era a little more but, im in no rush!

Lovely Writer: Count 26, 27, & 28

These are the chapter summaries for Count 26, 27, & 28 which should be included in episode 10 and/or episode 11 of Lovely Writer. Keep in mind that the show is very different and they often cut, change, and move things around.

Count 26

Gene is sleeping in the car while Nubsib drives them home from their parent’s house. It’s raining outside.

Nubsib wakes up Gene because he said he wanted to buy snacks, and they go to Maxvalu.

They go back to the condo and Gene immediately plants himself in front of the TV with the snacks.

Nubsib pushes him to shower so Gene does very quickly before going back to the TV.

Nubsib showers with the door open and Gene watches TV. He sees a promo for Bad Engineer and remembers that the show is being aired soon, so he gets a clip on his phone and posts it on IG. Nubsib comes out when Gene is filming and asks Gene why he didn’t dry his hair well. Gene says it will dry on its own.

People in the comments on the clip point out that they can hear Nubsib saying Gene’s name.

Nubsib dries Gene’s hair.

They keep watching shows and Gene asks Nubsib if it’s awkward to watch his acting and Nubsib says that he has to make sure he’s performing well for his boyfriend, so it’s fine. He wants it so that Gene isn’t able to take his eyes off of him. Gene is surprised when he remembers that he’s the boyfriend.

The next day Gene goes to meet Hin at the cake shop near Nubsib’s university. He’s started basically living at Nubsib’s condo full time.

Hin tells him that Bua wants him to write a special NC chapter for his book.

Hin asks him if he’s going to a book event with Nubsib and Gene says that if he goes with him everyone will want his autograph. Hin asks him why he’s getting jealous of Nubsib like that.

Gene posts a picture of his cake online and forgets to text Nubsib back while he’s eating with Hin. When he puts his hand up to wave for the cheque, Nubsib grabs it. He was able to recognize where Gene was from his IG post and he walked over from the university.

Gene tells Nubsib to eat with him then and Nubsib says he won’t eat cake unless Gene feeds him. Gene says fine, it doesn’t matter since he paid anyway.

When they get home, Nubsib showers while Gene tries to find inspiration to write his NC chapter. He thinks getting the hardest thing (the sex scenes) out of the way first will make it easier.

Gene watches some anime but decides he wants something different and ends up reading a dark BL novel.

“‘Inside the twitching did not stop.’ Do you like r*pe roleplaying?”

“Shit!” I was so startled, my hands closed the book suddenly when the embarrassing conversation in it was read out.

Nubsib sat beside me, the corner of his mouth smiling. “Do you like this?”

“Like...like this?”

“This.” His fingers gently grabbed my wrist, as if deliberately teasing me. “Is my Gene a masochist?”

“No! I’m just reading and using the information for my writing.”

“A sex scene again?”

I felt a little embarrassed. “Well...you can see.”

Because I always sit and read scenes like this only, Nubsib knows that I have trouble with sex scenes.

“Can I help you?”

Again...we’re in a familiar situation.

I instantly shook my head. “No need, this time I don’t want any realism.”

Gene keeps reading and then retires to bed.

When he does, Nubsib abruptly kisses him and pulls him onto his lap. Gene asks Nubsib what he’s doing and Nubsib says he’s helping him write.

Nubsib pushes Gene’s shirt up and tells him to hold his shirt up in his mouth. When Gene bites down on his shirt, Nubsib kisses his chest and asks Gene if he likes it, which Gene denies.

Nubsib asks Gene, “Do you like the novel you read earlier? Do you want me to tie you up like that?”

Nubsib holds Gene to him and fingers him before they start having sex. Nubsib eventually asks Gene to start moving himself, if it doesn’t hurt, and Gene starts shyly riding Nubsib.

Nubsib suddenly starts moving and puts Gene on his back. Gene says, “Nubsib...hold me,” and Nubsib holds Gene’s wrists over his head, and holds him. It’s embarrassing and Gene can’t even understand all the hoarse words Nubsib is saying in his ear, but he holds onto him.

While they’re coming down from their orgasm, Nubsib tells Gene, “Let’s take a shower later. One more round.”

Nubsib presses their foreheads together and Gene can’t say no.

Count 27 (Nubsib POV)

Nubsib thinks back on the sex and how he accidentally made Gene cry. He actually wants Gene to cry more, to feel more, but he has to stop himself from instinctively doing anything violent.

Nubsib sees a red mark on Gene’s neck and touches it. He thinks that if Gene can’t let people know that the mark is his, then he’ll hold it all the time. Or hide it and Gene away, so they’re not seen by anyone.

The phone rings and Gene gently urges Nubsib to pick it up because he’s sleepy.

It’s Tum and he can tell he interrupted them because of Nubsib’s mood, so he quickly tells Nubsib the details about his summer photoshoot. Nubsib tells Tum that he wants to reserve another plane ticket and Tum figures that it’s for Gene and agrees.

When Nubsib hangs up, Gene asks him when he’s going. Nubsib tells Gene that he’s going on the trip too.

Gene says Nubsib has work though, and Nubsib says he isn’t working day and night. They can be together. Gene begrudgingly agrees but says he’s “too lazy to go out” even though Nubsib can see his eyes are shining and he’s very excited.

Gene tries to go swim when they arrive, but Nubsib tells him to wait until there’s more shade. Gene says he has sunscreen but Nubsib tells Gene that he finishes at five, and they can swim then. Gene grumbles but he’s obedient.

Because everyone knows who Nubsib is, Nubsib booked them two rooms and Gene moved his stuff in first. Nubsib will move his in later. They’ll share one room, while Tum takes the others. Nubsib thinks the whole ruse is really annoying.

Tum says he knows he was only invited as a cover for Gene (because they’re friends) but he’s thankful that Nubsib’s letting him stay in a luxury resort room for free. Nubsib tells him that if he’s really thankful he should carry Gene’s luggage.

Nubsib goes to his photoshoot while Tum takes care of Gene. Gene sends Nubsib pictures of a coconut and a crab and other random things he finds, and Nubsib is so happy that a homebody like Gene is so excited to be out.

When Nubsib arrives back, Gene asks if they can swim now and Nubsib says yes. Gene is very excited.

They go to the private beach at the hotel and it’s fine because the place is so luxurious it’s mostly populated by foreigners who don’t know Nubsib.

Nubsib stops Gene from going into the water in exchange for applying sunscreen to Gene’s arms, shoulders, and legs, which makes Gene shy. Nubsib tells Gene not to play in the sun for too long and tells him he’ll wait for him right there.

Gene plays for so long that Nubsib is sure he’ll sleep but he showers and they go out to a market.

Gene sees a tourist attraction for snorkeling and asks Nubsib if he wants to go, if he’s not busy, and Nubsib asks Gene why he’d want to do it alone.

Gene says Nubsib is working, so he thought he’d be too tired, and Nubsib says he’s used to fucking Gene and then waking up and going to university after. Gene tells Nubsib that if he keeps talking like that, he’ll stab him.

They go back to the hotel and lie in bed. Gene asks Nubsib to take a picture for his parents in the LINE group chat.

Gene tells Nubsib not to make a face that’s too handsome. He’s sick of Nubsib being complimented by his mother.

They take silly selfies together.

Gene is home and looking through pictures of their trip. It’s been years since he travelled.

He’s thinking about picking up Nubsib from school to get cake to celebrate finishing his recent manuscript, when he gets a call from Tum. He’s concerned because Tum doesn’t video call him but only calls, and sounds really urgent.

He goes to meet Tum at the TV station and Nubsib is already sitting in the boss’s office.

He shows them pictures of Nubsib and Gene on their beach trip—they were seen in the night market. He goes on to show them Facebook posts and tweets with thousands of likes. Because of the SibGene pictures, people are shipping them a lot, and it’s bad for the series because they want them to ship SibAey.

Gene feels bad for causing trouble for the fans and for the network.

Gene sees some negative comments about how people are going to stop following Nubsib and that they now hate him because Nubsib is selfish, and didn’t think of the fan’s feelings, and those comments make him feel the worst.

Nubsib holds Gene’s hand and assures him that it’s not his fault which makes Gene feel worse.

The head of the TV station tells Nubsib that him and Gene need to stop interacting, stop going out, stop liking and commenting on each other’s social media etc. and Nubsib says it’s impossible to be separated from his boyfriend and his contract didn’t specify that.

The head tells him that it was implied because everyone knows that being a BL actor necessitates selling fanservice. Nubsib says that they can go ahead and rip up his contract then, because he never intended to act at all, or in another series after this. He only went to the casting for Gene.

Nubsib is angry but calm and he shocks everyone. Tum and the boss remind Nubsib that he has ten months left on his contract and if he leaves now he’ll have to pay a penalty. Nubsib says he knows and he’s prepared to pay.

Gene can’t take it. He cuts off Nubsib and tells the boss that he’ll stay away from Nubsib until the end of his contract, and he won’t stop by him if Tum isn’t there.

The boss is pleased and says he’s glad Gene understands. He says the next day that Nubsib needs to come by the studio for a small press conference where he’ll amend the news about him dating Gene.

They leave, leaving Nubsib and Gene to talk alone.

Nubsib tells Gene that they’re forcing them to break up and he won’t have it.

“You’re a star so it has to be like this.”

I didn’t want to cause problems for Nubsib’s work.

I felt extremely bad, thinking about Nubsib agreeing to pay the penalty to cancel his contract.

“We have to be like this?” Nubsib, who had been quiet for so long, repeated my words. “Maybe other actors can secretly date their boyfriends while they let the Internet ship them with someone else, but I can’t do that.”

“...”

“You can say that I’m selfish. But I only accepted the job to act in this series because of you. If it causes us problems like this, then I don’t want to continue this work.”

“I didn’t...” I shook my head.

The words were stuck in my throat, and I was unable to speak.

“So what are you going to do?”

“As I said. After the series ends, I’ll break my contract.”

“No!” I immediately interrupted. His eyebrows furrowed tightly together. “You’ve worked for your own savings, and haven’t asked your parents for work all this time. There’s no need to stop because of me. Another thing...if you rip up the contract you’ll need to pay a penalty. And not a thousand baht, but a couple hundred thousand baht.”

“And you’re fine with our relationship being like that? Not letting anyone know that I’m dating you? Making others think that I’m not in a relationship with you?”

“...”

When I didn’t answer the question, Nubsib shook his head while staring at me. “You’re being like this again. If anyone has a problem and tells you to do something, you follow because you care about them. Why don’t you do that for me? Why don’t you miss me?”

“I just don’t want you to waste your money and lose work!”

“You still don’t understand? Even after the series ends, there’s still nothing in my contract that specifies I can’t have a boyfriend. Pictures can be posted online at anytime. The Internet isn’t that easily quieted.”

“...”

“The only way for them to be satisfied is if we really break up.”

“...”

I froze.

Break up...

Everything I was thinking up until that point became blocked by that work in my mind.

I didn’t know what conclusion we’d come to when we started talking. Nubsib and I disagreed. There were several solutions to the problem. But I didn’t think for a second that breaking up was a solution.

“You want to...break up?” My voice is so low, I can barely hear myself.

“...”

Gene wants to faint at Nubsib’s suggestion.

He goes upstairs and showers and then gets into bed. He hears Nubsib come in and stand over him, but he doesn’t speak. Gene pretends to be asleep.

Gene thinks that he doesn’t want to break up with Nubsib but he’s the older one so he needs to be responsible. He can’t cause trouble for Nubsib like this.

Gene comes out and Nubsib is sitting in the living room. Nubsib tells Gene that he was being selfish and immature earlier and Gene is relieved.

Nubsib tells Gene that if he wants him to listen to the boss, then he’ll do it for Gene. He goes on to tell Gene that since the fans know they live together, it’s probably best for Gene to go back to live in his condo for now.

Gene feels terrible.

Diary of a Junebug

Taking nature snapshots and trying to get back on track

I know it’s been long overdue, but I finally got around to updating the campsite photos for our website. Yes, I’m aware that I’ve been super inconsistent with updates and such. It’s kinda embarrassing to say that the last time I got a professional photographer here to promote the camp was years ago.

Though, in that case, the camp was still pretty new, so it could use the publicity. Back then I was more consistent with updates as well as events. Now that I’ve been at it for almost 5 years (wow!) I’ve reached a point where I’m just fine doing my own thing. Like I’ve said, constantly doing events have burned me out by a lot. Also, I don’t want my camp to be always busy with social things going on all the time - ugh, honestly if that were the case, I would’ve quit a long time ago.

All I want is for my camp to be a chill place, one where you can kick back and enjoy the scenery. In other words, I’ve worked to make this place and lifestyle an ideal one for a homebody such as myself. Some may not agree with how I run things but it’s my life and my decisions, not theirs.

After all, you can’t miss out on something that you never wanted. So what if I’m an introverted nobody who doesn’t want to take on the world by storm? What if I just want to do things at my own pace for myself rather than be constantly trying to climb to the top? It’s already taken me a long time to accept that there’s nothing wrong with what I want, even if it contradicts with what’s expected of me. Still, there’s some who can’t (or refuse to) see eye to eye with me, acting like what I choose to do is a personal attack on them. I guess it can’t be helped.

I think the reason why it’s been getting to me more than usual is because of the burnout. While traveling has been helping me a lot, I still can’t help but feel guilty for not putting too much focus on the camp. It’s not like I’ve been neglecting it - my life can’t always revolve around that - but there’s this voice in my head that’s telling me I should be planning something. Like why are you resting instead of working? kind of thing.

For now, I’m just trying to figure out some sort of balance. So, for the time being, events are kinda taken one day at a time - which isn’t exactly ideal, I know - but I can’t seem to have the energy to plan super far ahead. Plus, I prefer the more casual, spontaneous get together kind of events that kinda fall together naturally as those tend to be more low key. Ideally, I think I would plan to have more casual events with a major one here and there, just to keep things interesting so it won’t end up being the same old all the time. Nothing is set in stone yet so I’m keeping my options open. At least I’m finally starting to get somewhere.

As for the photoshoot, I had Josie come over to take pics. I chose the last appointment slot for the day so Josie can hang out a bit at the camp before heading home. Good thing we finished early! I’m surprised that she kept photos from a couple years back when we did a nature photography thing. It’s amazing to see how much or little the scenery has changed over the years. We did some of the usual promo type pics along with pretty nature shots that would make nice postcards. To be honest, the whole photoshoot was pretty uneventful, which works out.

With a lot of time to spare, Josie wanted to take some more pics, so off we went. Thanks to Josie’s excellent photography skills, we were able to figure out the location of the pics we took before. In a way, it’s kinda like going down memory lane. Maybe we might do it again a few more years down the line - I’d be totally up for that!

At some point during our hike, we met up with Daisy Jane and Almie. Later, after going through all the old photos, we decided to take on another hiking expedition with an unfamiliar trail outside the campground. Since it was a spur of the moment kind of thing we didn’t really prepare for, I didn’t know what to expect. To our surprise we covered quite a bit of ground, even if we didn’t really do much other than look around. Sometimes that’s just all there is to hiking. Just being out here is enough for me to put my mind on something else for a short while.

One thing to note is that we came across a little cave. We didn’t take a super close look as we didn’t have the proper gear to check it out in depth but there’s a bunch of interesting rocks in there. Some might even be gems, though I’m no expert on that so I can’t be too sure. Daisy Jane did notice that one of the rocks resembles a mythical ore used on certain weapons, something that Connie is always in need of. If it really is that ore, I’ll keep tabs on this place so the next time Connie drops by I can give it to them.

Speaking of Connie, we’ve been making plans for a visit - no exact date yet but probably in the near future. As usual they’ve been super busy with their journey, though at the moment they finally have some downtime. Pai said they were doing investigations in a mine that had recently reopened with limited access. Connie mentioned that they were involved in two major investigations that yielded results, but came with risks, which is why they’ve held off on bringing other people in. I’m guessing Connie had to pull some strings in order to get access to such a place.

I’ve heard that mines are dangerous, so I can see why Connie wanted to play it safe, especially when Pai mentioned that during those two separate missions, the people accompanying them ended up seriously ill by the mine’s unusual effects. At least one of them’s expected to make a full recovery as long as they get proper rest but as for the other one, it doesn’t look too good. As for Connie and Pai themselves, they’ve only suffered mild symptoms thankfully. So, all the more reason why they need a break.

As for other future visits to keep an eye out for, I’m putting together plans with Kayo and Maki for a visit as they both want to visit the camp. Along with them, Kaiji, Raiden, and Qingmei are a definite yes, Kamo, Ayame, Atsushi and his family are maybes. It would be nice if everyone was able to make it as I’m very much looking forward to their visit. I’m guessing Atsushi hyped up everyone else about the camp, and given his way with words, I’d get excited too!

Now that I’ve been keeping in touch with Atsushi more, I can see why he’s popular. He’s got this energy that hypes people up, the kind of friend who motivates you to keep going when you need help. Plus he’s a funny person who can get a little over the top, but nonetheless very entertaining. I gotta admit, I was surprised to find out he was that harmonica gacha guy from that meme a while back. Basically he was doing a gaming stream where he tried to pull for a character he’d been waiting for and got epically screwed over - the harmonica added to the chaos. As someone who also got screwed over by that same banner too (158 wishes total, welp), I felt his pain. Now when I lose 50/50 I will forever associate that with angry harmonica noises because it’s such a mood.

And along with livestreams, he also posts music, mainly anime and video game song covers, along with collaborations with other friends, including Sakura and Kaiji. Over the past year, Atsushi’s been uploading to his channel more frequently, about 1 song every other week, which he says has been going smoothly. As a result, his covers have been gaining traction and he really is a talented singer. He says he’s even got Kaiji and a bunch of other friends to do some more collabs - the one with Kaiji just came out and it’s really good. I’ve heard that Sakura and Kaiji were good singers too, but I didn’t expect them and Atsushi to be that good, as in they could have easily made it as singers if they chose to pursue that path.

The impromptu hike ended up taking a lot longer than we thought, mainly because we lost track of time. Daisy Jane and Almie have been super busy with the shop update while Josie had a busy week of photoshoots, so they could use the break. As for me though, it feels like I’m constantly in low battery mode lately, which isn’t good, especially since I’m nowhere as busy as they are. Again, it’s probably the burnout, and it’s frustrating. At least this little hike has helped somewhat - it beats absently scrolling through social media while mentally beating yourself up for not doing anything. I know eventually this feeling will pass, but I can’t help but feel bad about it.

Putting my frustrations and bad feelings aside, I have to say that at least I’m pushing through it. Being with Daisy Jane, Josie, and Almie has definitely helped with that. Also with Connie and Kayo’s visits to look forward to, I can’t be slacking off and giving into negative thoughts too much now.

who are you, in the dark? by pasdecoeur - This fic was mostly an excuse for me to smush together my three favourite tropes in DC fics — the League discovering yet another one of Bruce Wayne's astonishingly sexy photoshoots and collectively losing their goddamn minds, steamy locker room sex, and Bruce being forced to deal with his crippling fear of intimacy because he's sort of gone and fallen desperately in love with Hal Jordan.

So it's a little cracky, and a little angsty, and a lot smutty, but I think I managed to make it all work.

Moon Dust on Your Lips by saekokato - The Justice League, through their Green Lantern members, were slowly making contact with planets that had technology or knowledge greater than their own. It was something they all traded off on, but at the end of the day, Bruce and Hal ended up on these trips more often than not.

At least the two of them had started getting along over the last few years.

Of course, getting along with Bruce had the unfortunate side effect of dialing Hal’s crush on the man up to nearly 3000. Hal could handle the fact that the man was smoking hot. Hal was smoking hot; all of the damned League was. It wasn’t anything special, wasn’t anything worth getting worked up about, was what Hal was getting at.

“Well, Jordan, you made the bed, you stupid blind fuck,” Hal muttered. He texted Bruce back, letting him know that he was on his way. “Now it’s time to climb on in.”

Happy Middles by saekokato - When your days (and nights) are filled with normal jobs and not so normal crime fighting, you learn to make the most of the moments you do have. Here are Bruce and Hal, making time for one another.

Most nights, Bruce returned from his patrols and Batman hoopla about an hour or so before Hal had to force himself up to make it to the air field on time. Occasionally, they’ll get the chance to fall into bed together for a whole night, but both of them are realistic enough to know their lives just don’t work like that. Still it’s a couple of hours together that they both could enjoy, before Bruce ended his day and Hal started his. Hal knew it did them both a world of good, too, even if all they do is exist next to one another.

This particular morning, Bruce crawled into bed like a human popsicle with limbs. Hal knew this because Bruce just burrowed between him and the mattress, pulling Hal and the covers on top of himself. He was utterly uncaring of the fact that his freezing ass just jolted Hal out of a sound sleep.

Domestic by batmanbemysugardaddy - Bruce and Hal admitted their feelings for each other (in their own fucked up way), but then Hal was immediately (and predictably) called away for a three-week-long mission in space. This is the aftermath.

This fic is equal parts hurt/comfort, smut and fluff, with cameos from a couple of batkids and some jokes at Guy Gardner’s expense for good measure.

“Hal found himself landing about half a mile from his destination, in a field of unkempt, dry grass. He dropped his suit and mask to run his bare hand through the grass, glad he’d remembered to wear real clothing under his suit for once. The grass caught against his jeans, and the sensation of dirt – regular, Earth dirt – soft and pliant under his boots was a welcome homecoming. He should have gone back to Coast City, he knew – to his lantern and his apartment – but all he’d been able to think upon descent was that he’d wanted to go home.”

Affect by theLiterator - It was the hair, Bruce decided at the end of a terribly long meeting during which he could do nothing but stare at Hal Jordan and shift uncomfortably in his chair. That was it. Nothing else had changed.

aaand shameless self-promo I love the way you let me breathe instead by DrewWrites - It wasn’t like Bruce had never been called beautiful. Bruce Wayne has been called beautiful by the press and other socialites and admirers and so on. Batman has even been called beautiful by a few people.

But it’s the way Hal says it.
