Guys… I finally listened to the wall and….
OMG IT WAS SO GOOD!!!
Like, I could hear how much effort was put into every aspect of this album! The storytelling, the themes, the lyrics, the harmonies/melodies, the singing, the instruments… everything was so good! I was extremely captivated while listening, trying to figure out the plot (I honestly do not exactly understand was happening here in this album plot wise, but I’m going to look it up later, though some things I definitely understood more than others like the building of the wall). I also loved how cinematic and dramatic this album was! I felt completely immersed into its musical-esque atmosphere (especially during The Trial, which felt just like a classic Broadway musical song imo). I honestly think this is a much better execution of a rock opera than Tommy was (though Tommy had much easier to understand lyrics). My favorite aspects of this album definitely have to be the singing (how it sometimes switches between David and Roger singing lead) and how its executed/delivered (along with the harmonies in songs like The Happiest Days Of Our Lives, Goodbye Blue Sky, Is There Anybody Out There, The Show Must Go On, and Waiting for the Worms) along with the instrumentation and production (they’re SO GOOD). I also like how some references to other PF songs are made on here (e.g. Echoes, Careful With That Axe Eugene and One of These Days) Here are some songs that particularly stood out to me/are my favorites so far after my first listen (in order of appearance on the album):
The Thin Ice
Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2
Mother (the lyrics and their delivery are so good here, along with the acoustic guitar)
Goodbye Blue Sky (the harmonies here ARE AMAZING along with the acoustic guitar and melody)
Young Lust
One of My Turns
Don’t Leave Me Now (I adore how ominous and dark this song sounds, to me it sounds like the musical representation of dark obsession)
Hey You
Comfortably Numb (easily the best song on this album imo)
The Show Must Go On
Run Like Hell (sounds groovy AND ominous! Love it)
Waiting for the Worms
This album honestly now has to be one of my fave PF albums, easily in the top 5, and is now one of my fave albums ever. Will definitely listen again!

Pink Floyd THE CHARACTER as seen in the wall is a bard of void… if the bard’s arc can move slowly. He does snap in In the Flesh but there is a lot of slow transformation before that. Obviously that’s the whole point of the album

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Evelyn Evelyn is one of the greatest albums ever created? It has so many fucking good songs. Evelyn Evelyn, Sandy Fishnets, A Campaign of Shock and Awe, and Chicken Man are my favorites. (And I also really like Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn and Elephant Elephant)
And I LOVE when albums tell a story through each song so you have to listen to it in order, but they’re also good songs on their own. Like The Wall by Pink Floyd.

this is so like. basic fan of me but the wall is such a fucking amazing album. it's quickly becoming part of my comfort albums to listen to because of all the beautiful solos, lyrics, callbacks to other songs (both lyrically and instrumentally), sound and production quality GOD I cannot say any more positive things about the wall. it's definitely something you have to take in maybe once or twice if you're not the biggest fan, but once you find yourself seeking the songs and having a re-listen (like I did months ago), you realize what an absolutely incredible album it is.
