riffing off rukafais's artemis post...

it's fun to think about, like i went on the tack with felyn that for feeding surfacers that she got some things like rice and salted butter on the surface that was "shelf"-stable (ish) and was able due to spending time on the surface actually make "tolerable" foods like pyrimo (an underdark piranha) sashimi donburi or stews using crayfish stock and cave fisher (a monster).

ofc she didn't tell the poor guys at the time that it was cave fisher (which tastes like crab iirc), but i guess she has an interesting skillset if she ever retires from the church.

#felyn #my personal opinion is that there isn't many spices available in the underdark #so while surfacers are used to flavor #the underdark species focus on texture variations #this is mostly fanon but you kinda gotta sometimes with this species #she originally learned to cook bc she thought it would help bridge gaps with the other males in the church
