since i'm still pretty new to the horror genre & i found out i really like holiday-themed horror films, i stumbled upon this list (x) that might be helpful for others who are looking to watch horror films this holiday season. the ones i've watched so far are on the left and i included a clean copy on the right. i'd love to see everyone fill it out and share what they thought of each!

Minty from A Very Minty Christmas mlp, is autistic. She's an autistic icon and an ally to the masses. In this essay I will prove it to you.

Her special interest is Socks. She only ever asks for one thing every Christmas, socks. And she's incredibly happy when she gets them. She tells everyone about those socks every chance she gets. No one else wears them either, no one needs socks.

But she treasures them so much.

When she messes up badly she tries to go get help but can't bear to explain it because she doesn't realize her mess up is outweighed by others care for her. She reacts very poorly to being scolded, and she doesn't mean to but it's very personal to her.

When she wants to make everyone happy what does she think of? Her most prized possessions, her socks. She assumes they would make everyone else just as happy as they make her. And she selflessly gives up some of those socks for her friends.

She goes off to do something dangerous (though pinkiebdid suggest it, but clearly not to go alone like she tried to do) becauseshes scared the other ponies will hate her. (Something I struggled with greatly as a girl child with undiagnosed autism until middle school)

She doesn't know how to share her loves and herself with people but she's trying. Everyone in town thinks she's weird, but they don't shame her because this is Ponyville, that's not a thing.

(Cotton candy I also HC as autistic because of her very literal taking of everything and missing of cues until she sees the "Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane" herself. She's too busy thinking about the Christmas lights.)

Minty moves more slowly than the others. She's clumsy, even though she tries very hard. She's also really particular, she's always trying to make sure everything is set up perfectly. Like when she knocks over the snowman head trying to adjust it. She sees her socks as a fix all, giving up one of her Santa red socks as a scarf to keep the head up. When no one is nearby to help her she assumes she needs to do it all herself.

She also steps on people's feet all the time, asks to get on people's shoulders, she's not sure about social things.

In the eyes of me, an autistic adult woman who grew up with my mother's My Little Pony toys and watching Minty every single year multiple times at my request, I see her as an autistic pony and an ally for us.

Obscure Christmas Special recommendations

Christmas is almost here but I still thought I’d share some fun things to watch during the holiday. Most of these are surrounded by my hyperfixatjons so a lot of animated/puppetry content. And are in no particular order

1)

Christmas Eve Sesame Street

Multiple plot lines going on here but the main plot is about Oscar making big bird worrying about if Santa Claus can't fit through peoples chimneys he won't come. There's also some very good original songs and a sweet subplot with Ernie and bert

2)

Snowden’s Raggedy Ann and Andy holiday show.

A skating special follows the story of a circus-based around the raggedy Ann and Andy dolls (maybe?) they host a show each year where they make children's wishes come true with the help of the rag dolls and a magical mirror.

3) Shining Time Station (Tis a Gift)

If your unaware of what shining time station is. It is a show delvopled to to bring Thomas the tank engine to the us (due to the episodes 5 minute runtime) so the rest of the show is a framing device with original stories in a train station and other content.

As the adults bicker over playing Santa's Helper in the holiday pageant, Matt and Tanya are left with Vicki, a little girl unwilling to experience the joys of the season. A mysterious passenger, Mr. Nicholas (Lloyd Bridges), arrives, and makes a lasting impression on Vicki. He teaches her the spirit of the holidays, a gift no money could buy.

Olive the other reindeer

When Santa cancels his annual flight because of a hurt reindeer, a young Christmas loving dog named Olive is convinced she has what it takes to get Santa's flight off the ground and save Christmas.

Rudolph the red nosed reindeer (1948)

An adaptation before the classic we know today. Except with a splash of uncanny rubber house animation.

6)

A Muppets Family Christmas

A holiday special featuring like almost every series that can go under the muppets label (ie the muppets, Sesame Street, fraggle rock)

When Fozzie and the Muppet Show gang drop in unexpectedly on Fozzie's mother, she is forced to cancel her winter vacation plans and entertain them all. Soon the Sesame Street gang comes by as carolers, and then Kermit and his nephew Robin discover a Fraggle Rock hole in the basement. A snowstorm blows in, stranding everyone at the house, except for Miss Piggy, who arrives just in time for all the Muppets to celebrate Christmas together.

Those are all I can think of now!

you & i can form a soft girlie (gn) support group. it’s just a giant cuddle pile with comfy blankets and tasty snacks while listening to tender-hearted tunes.

Omg can we actually? I'll have you know I cry embarrassingly easy. If someone puts the Spirit or Tarzan soundtrack is absolutely over for me 🥺

We're gonna need a good stash of kleenex, balm (for the nose) and ibuprofen (for headaches) hahaha
