There are so many cancelled and unrealized projects that Disney is sitting on, that they do not benefit from in any way by keeping them locked up tight. They really ought to just let them go if they don't have any intentions of doing anything with them.

Incidentally, I could never agree with the mentality of “Magnifico is actually the hero, and Asha is the TRUE villain” that a lot of people seem to have. I drew my comic based on this post. I feel like if more people had been aware of this possible interpretation, they wouldn’t have sympathized with Magnifico.

Does Wish have bad writing? Yes, it does. And it’s because of that bad writing that every single character suffers. What I think happened is that, as a result of said bad writing, Asha became a character that’s so uncompelling and lacks uniqueness that she ends up a blank slate for audiences to project their frustrations with the movie onto. King Magnifico on the other hand, is probably the most interesting and entertaining character, due in no small part to Chris Pine’s performance, and so the audience is much more sympathetic towards him and willing to ignore his flaws.

One of Asha’s problems as a character is that she doesn’t really contribute much to the story. By contrast, Magnifico’s downfall is brought about entirely as a result of his own actions. Magnifico is in fact not a good leader, because he gives in to paranoia and temptation, acts in a very unprofessional manner, and escalates the conflict to an absurd degree.

Please note, Asha does not get upset that Magnifico refuses to grant her grandfather’s wish, she gets upset that he insinuates that her grandfather might have dangerous intentions, and because he does not have a convincing reason why he doesn’t return wishes that he won’t grant. Rather than calmly explaining his reasoning to her, Magnifico rudely dismisses Asha and then blows up at her.

If Magnifico were a good leader, he would have explained to each person WHY he won’t grant their wish, and given them advice on alternatives. As it stands, he knows full well that everyone expects their wish to be granted. It’s why they even came to Rosas, it is the literal reason he even built his kingdom in the first place. Returning their ungranted wishes simply means returning the memory of what their wish even is, and they’ll be no better off than they were before they gave Magnifico their wish.

I dunno about you guys, but whenever I watched stories that preached “be careful what you wish for”, my takeaway was never “your desires could be dangerous and you should never pursue them for fear of disaster”, I always thought the stories were telling us, “beware of anything that promises instant gratification, because it’s usually too good to be true, and will cost you more than you will gain”. While the things you want in life may have disastrous consequences, you won’t really know until you try to pursue them through your own honest efforts, and not through “magical” shortcuts. That’s how we learn and grow, through trial and error. 

As it currently stands from my point of view, when people say "Magnifico has every right to keep ungranted wishes" it looks like they're unintentionally saying, “The Disney Corporation has every right to keep your work and ideas, because you willingly handed them over. Tough luck if you regret the deal you were given. No takesies backsies!”

While I have found no evidence to confirm that the filmmakers intended for Magnifico to be a criticism of Corporate Disney, considering the inclusion of the animation sweatshop scene in Pixar's Inside Out 2, I think the probability is likely.

Please note, everyone is free to rewrite and reinterpret Magnifico however they want. He's just a fictional character after all, and fan content is supposed to be for fun. I just think it's funny how defensive people get over him. They say he deserved better, and I agree, but we have very different ideas of what "better" means. In fact, I think every character in Wish deserved better, because again, they were all victims of bad writing. Remember those deleted scenes featuring a villainous Magnifico with better writing, along with an evil Amaya that he can play off of? I'm fairly certain that everyone unanimously agreed these deleted scenes were much better than the final movie, and yet some still insist that Magnifico should have been a hero all along. I dunno, it's a funny dichotomy.

I wanna know more about how Transformers seeing us like hamsters. Well to be more direct, I would like to hear more of your thoughts about humans and Transformers shenanigans or what not.

Aside from all the fighting against Decepticons and the usually very aggressive human military, I think Transformers and humans have an absolutely brilliant potential to coexist. Oh, and the fact that they probably find us tiny, organic creatures kind of cute is hilarious to me lol. What starts out as a huge underestimation on the part of the Transformers of humans, who have no advanced technology yet, becomes more as soon as both sides start to actually communicate with each other: I think it's clear from all the TF Media entries that humans make up for this disadvantage with their indomitable human spirit and wide range of emotions. So, in my opinion: the Autobots absolutely love humans. They really do. Humans are free and easy and incredibly entertaining - and also very, very strange. They have weird organic needs, social rituals as well as social structures; to any xeno-anthropologist, Planet Earth would be like Christmas a thousand times over lol. But these very complex social structures are exactly what the Autobots like so much about this young and inexperienced race. Despite their low level of technology and science, the human social veins are extremely mature, though still in a state of juvenile aggression and blindness. Despite these very problems, not unknown to the Transformers, the parallels are so clear and so poignant: in the end, it all comes down to the heart, or the spark, and what you make of what you have. The vast majority of humans choose compassion and sympathy, peace and unity - exactly what an advanced race should be doing. So the potential is undeniably there. So, yeah, I guess there are no limits to the shenanigans. As I am far from having worked my way through all the available media on the Transformers franchise (I am currently reading More Than Meets the Eye), I am looking forward to seeing what is yet to come. What I personally find most interesting are the little funny moments when cultures (mechanical/organic) collide - as well as the flip side of the coin, when humans are helplessly exposed to a gigantic robot conflict that has to take place here on Earth. Both are so much fun to think about and leave a lot of space for interpretations!

ʚїɞ I planned for all hotel characters first but then I realized how much I'm thinking on each paragraph and its details that I decided to just do 2-3 charas per part😭

Very few characters would notice something wrong on the first watch of the show, but wouldn't realize, nor become self-aware until the 2nd or further watch. 

While everyone's reaction would be different with different amounts of stages before total acceptance of the situation, they all would share the first emotion, simple disbelief. They would first need to even process the fact that they're not real, that they were created solely for the purpose of entertaining… something? Someone? In a completely different Universe. That everything that they thought had happened to them before they died didn't actually happen, they were never alive in the first place. Only after that did the emotions and reactions differ. The very first emotion or actual personal reaction would be:

ALASTOR

Irritation with a hint of madness.

His first thoughts about the situation would be how ironic it is that he seeks entertainment for himself while his own person, no, character, was a source of entertainment for whatever was watching them from time to time. It was quite ironic how he said that his face was made for radio when the truth couldn't be further from that. He was literally created solely to be watched on that funny colored box by… whatever was watching him and the others.

He was irritated at not noticing that something was wrong immediately, now he thinks about how blind he was, how obvious everything was. The city is actually quiet, too quiet when the noise and demons aren't needed, when they're not meant to be heard. Nothing actually happened that one time when he was out for a fix of his coat, it just got magically fixed, he went and came back when someone else decided he was to do so. They didn’t have much actual free will when he thought about it and that's what he was mad about. He thought that his deal was a massive problem to him, oh how wrong he was because the problem was you.

He doesn't know how he or the others didn't notice the small, glowing butterfly flying above their heads from time to time. They couldn't be that blind, could they? The little crystal thing (could he break it?) must have done something to be unnoticed for so long. He wondered how long they were watched for, the little thing above their heads seemed to be speaking sometimes, seemingly knowing what would happen… at least he thought so, the words would cut out so often that he was left with a pure guess at one point.

He didn't want to accept that he wasn't real, that he was just a 2D character with the sole purpose of entertaining someone. He was meant to be the one entertained, not you. But he couldn't actually do anything, could he? For sure not until more of the people he knew were aware. 

That's also something that he noticed. When it came to the hotel staff and guests, he seemed to be the only one who realized the situation at first. It took a few times of some events repeating before he noticed that someone else from the hotel was noticing the little crystal butterfly above their heads as well. 

Alastor seemed to be the first, or one of the very first people who noticed that something was wrong. He wasn't sure if someone realized before him, and if they did then who, but he was somewhat glad that he could finally discuss the topic at least a little once the other hotel patrons found out about the truth. He isn't one to really open up in any way, but this was a matter where he had to communicate with the others.

You. He didn’t know what to think of you at first. He did see you in a more negative light at first, under many emotions hitting him at once which he hated but after he calmed down, he started thinking. At first, he was sure you were some sick person seeking entertainment from the suffering of others, and yeah he was doing pretty much the same, but were you really alike when he wasn’t even real and you were? He was pretty sure that he’s never gonna get used to saying that.

Over time, when he stopped overthinking (he’s gonna deny that he was doing that till the day of his 2nd death), he noticed a few changes. The less negative his posture and thoughts were about you, even if neutral, the more he was able to find out. Alastor was able to pick up more than a few words whenever you talked, he was able to hear you talking clearly enough to recognize a possible gender, and something he wasn’t sure that he wanted to think about, it was way easier to pick up your emotions in your words.

I feel like he would be more lenient towards you if it turned out you were a female (or identified as one), but that would be the mama’s boy inside of him talking. There wouldn’t be too many differences of course, but those who spent enough time around him would be able to tell there's a difference after finding out your gender if it turned out you weren’t a man (again, not too much but it IS noticeable).

He would go from lowkey hating you at first to being mostly neutral with a hint of positive light as you seemed to do nothing but watch, up until later on when everyone is self-aware as well and would talk about the whole thing. Only then would the feelings towards you, the little watcher, as he first called you, turn more positive.

LUCIFER

Massive inner conflict and a complete mix of emotions

He didn’t know what to think. It was hard to comprehend that he didn’t actually live for as long as he thought, that all the things that supposedly happened, in fact never were even close to happening, they were just… a scripted past. 

Was all his suffering for nothing? Was it there just to entertain someone? Did those things who watched them enjoy seeing them sad and hurt? He was simply lost on what to think about the whole situation, it wasn't something that he could prepare himself for in any way beforehand. 

He was disappointed in himself for not noticing immediately or at least faster that something was not right. He's the literal King of hell! Even if… only in a show apparently… but he still is. No one better say anything about that because he's already on the brink of a yet another breakdown. He cannot take much more.

Should he try doing something about this? Or should he stay quiet and go with the script as he's supposed to? He wasn’t sure about the answer himself and had no one to answer his questions. The thought that what he thought were eons of life was actually a lie was… a little terrifying. Who knows just how much can someone force them to do without caring for their opinions because they don’t know that he and the others are aware of everything now, how much can you cause without their consent? He wasn’t sure if you or anyone else knew about them being self-aware or not.

He would actually try to ignore the little butterfly whenever he would see it, but at the same time, many questions were swirling in his mind.

Why were you around? Did you like to see them suffering? Did you have any control over what you saw? Did you have some sort of control over them? Did you have plans regarding them? Did you-

Yeah, again, he has a lot of questions and absolutely zero answers.

His personal feelings about you were all around at first. Not sure whether he should hate, dislike, or be generally negative about you, be more neutral, or be on the more positive side, especially since you didn't seem to do anything but watch them. Like it's all that you could do when it comes to them, but he couldn't be 100% sure.

Similarly to Alastor, he would be one of the characters who noticed something wrong on the first watch of the show before becoming self-aware quite soon after that. I don't think he, nor Alastor, would notice the other knows too fast, since both try to act like nothing's wrong around others. He did not want to be just a 2D character, something to be watched on a screen. It was… humiliating, in his eyes. He could tell that Charlie and the others weren't aware of anything at first so he didn't speak about it until later on when he was sure that they came to their senses, as he would like to say.

He wondered how long were you actually there before he, or anyone else, started to see or notice you, especially since he could literally hear you. Both as the small insect and the occasional words he was able to pick up. And that's if he was to forget the butterfly was literally, softly fucking glowing. Yeah, they're all blind.

I think that if you’re on the younger side, (which technically is any age a human can be alive at compared to him lmao) he would be a little softer, especially if you're similar to his daughter in character. It would come from the paternal side of his, you would probably remind him of Charlie so much :(

He would be more on the negative side at first, as much as he wishes he didn't straight up assume how you were as a person, it took some time but he went into the more neutral zone before being positive about you after being able to hear more of you talking, as he was able to at least have more idea about your character and wasn't completely clueless like at the start.

Your nickname also got changed to something else, something cuter over time, as Alastor’s name for you, little watcher, was deemed not good enough by everyone (Lucifer's words)

He didn't even want to try it at first. That's a game for kids, right? He's occupied with his studies. Then you introduced him to Word Bomb, a game where he could show off the fact that he read an entire encyclopedia when he was a kid. He destroys people in the game; like, ok, you're supposed to write a word with the letters they give you, but how did Riddle come up with the word "uvulopalatopharyngoplasty"?

Now he plays in his free time, but he does it like his family's honor is at risk. He only lost once since he started playing, and he took it personally.

★﹕TREY CLOVER — bloxy bingo

One of the two who decided to pick a chill game. Trey is just trying to take a break; why are people insulting him in seven different languages because he won once? This game feels like he is in a retirement home playing with old people, except the old people are beefing with each other and buying like six different sheets to fill and have more chances to win. A kid even wrote him a whole paragraph in a language he couldn't even read; the only thing he knew was that they insulted his entire bloodline. At the end Trey got frustrated, but not to the point of fighting kids on Roblox.

★﹕CATER DIAMOND — 3008

Cater is not as nice as Trey; he actually does fight kids on Roblox. No, 'Progamerkiller1234', you cannot stay at his fort; it took him three days in the game to make it aesthetically pleasing; no, he doesn't care that the employees are chasing you and that you're about to die; that sounds like a you problem. People have tried to steal his place from him before, and he won't take the risk again. At this point, Cater doesn't even care about the SCP aspect of the game; he's just there to do a whole mansion with the furniture and to show off his pretty avatar. Now, if you ask him to let you stay at his place, he will let you, since you aren't a random person trying to rob him. But please help with collecting food while he's building.

★﹕ACE AND DEUCE — apeirophobia

It started with Ace saying something along the lines of "let's play this game just to laugh at how dumb it is", and somehow progressed into Deuce screaming because a Smiler scared him, Ace screaming because Deuce startled him, and you having to carry them through the game. The backrooms suddenly aren't funny anymore, but Ace doesn't want to quit because he "can't lose to a kid's game". So now the three of you keep replaying and replaying the game, dying in the most stupid ways possible. A Doppelganger killed you, the Titan Smiler caught Deuce because he got stuck, and a Skin Stealer kept killing Ace. You even had to spend 2 hours replaying the funrooms level, and when you thought the horrors were over, you lost the next level.

Please free Deuce from this suffering. It's 4 am and some random entity is chasing him, his throat will be sore tomorrow from how much he screamed. And never mention ever again that Ace screamed because he got startled when Trey knocked on his door.

★﹕AZUL ASHENGROTTO — work at a pizza place

The second Azul started playing, he overthrew the manager and took their position. There's a problem though: nobody works in this game; Azul has to do everything, and I mean everything. He's the cashier, the chef, the delivery guy, and the supplier; he's running around doing all the work. If he could name himself the employee of the month he would, but he's the manager, so the game doesn't allow him. This game got him stressed, and they didn't even pay him well.

Did that teach him to pay his Mostro Lounge employees better? No, the only thing he learned is that he shouldn't play Roblox again because, clearly, nobody there takes having a business seriously.

★﹕JADE LEECH — murder mistery 2

If you don't know what the game is about, it's a game where you're assigned a role every round: citizen, murderer, or sheriff; guess which one is his favorite role. Jade is having a blast; he acts like a pro in the game, and he always wins whenever he is the murderer. The worst thing is that nobody suspects he's good at playing because he has the basic Roblox skin; he refuses to change it because it's useful when playing. He is passively aggressive in the chat whenever someone provokes him, either that or he's just making fun of some random kid who got angry at him.

★﹕FLOYD LEECH — ragdoll engine

The only thing you do in that game is make your character suffer; Floyd likes that very much. The first thing he did was throw himself down the stairs, and then he just couldn't stop. Throwing himself off the highest stairs he could find, down a building, launching himself from a cannon—he just finds it extremely funny to see his character suffer. But his favorite thing is pushing other players. He's a menace; you can be doing your own thing, then he randomly approaches you and starts pushing you around, and he won't leave you alone. I mean, at least he isn't pushing people down the stairs in real life.

★﹕KALIM AL-ASIM — bee swarm simulator

The other one who chose a chill game. It's repetitive, yes, but Kalim is having the time of his life. You caught his interest the second you mentioned the cute bees; they all had cute faces and everything. He got emotionally attached to his bees, so now he plays every time he can. You know those types of players that you see and they make you think they have been playing for years? That's Kalim, except he has only been playing for a month; he has already spent a ridiculous amount of money on the game and on his avatar. He will show you his bees as if they were his kids.

★﹕JAMIL VIPER — natural disaster survival

Stressed, really stressed. Tell him why his character fell off a building because of a tsunami, or why he blew up, or why a meteorite fell on him. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS LIMB? DID IT FLY AWAY WITH THE TORNADO?? There's so much going on, he's confused and can barely keep up. He has to admit that it's funny when your character dies for some random reason though, you're receiving the same treatment the game gave him.

"WHERE DID MY HAIR GO? WHY AM I BALD??" Jami said a few seconds before a tornado sent him flying.

She wants to go abroad to entertain more people with her performances and see more than just her hometown and Helsinki. She feels the world is calling her. At this point, Marja steps in and tells her about Michael's BC. Kyllikki is hesitant at first, after all, her love life has been almost non-existent so far (only a few flings), but when she sees Michael's photo, she discovers in him a colorful personality and a kindred spirit (music!), so she decides to take a risk and participate.

you like to pretend it’s not you who’s caused these chains of events but are you really to blame? all you ever do now is sit behind the castle walls and entertain yourself where you can.

sure, there’s a whole village just outside the door being built from the ground up. sure, you could set aside your personal feelings and help but why would you? after months and months of defending yourself against night creatures, foraging, and forgetting any hygiene you previously had, sitting pretty in proper heating with access to clean water had you more spoiled than you’d like to admit.

and you can trust adrian has noticed, too.

“you’ve changed,” is what he would say with a tut of his tongue when you demand a hot bath with goat-milk soap and of course he complies. who is he to deny such a pretty girl who usually speaks such sweet words.

never in his several hundred years of living could he imagine ever bending to the will of a human but he can’t help it when it comes to you. it just feels so right . . . and also keeps you quiet.

unlike now. now, you’re bored, antsy, and finding the solution to your problems in harassing your lover.

“alucard,” your drawl, dragging the tips of your fingers against the wooden table stationed by the lounge chair you’re in. you’re all curled up, knees to your chest and head dangling off the armrest.

you can see him across the room, see the pained irritation that briefly crosses his face before it’s all released with a sigh. “please, just adrian. there’s no need for such formalities.”

he flips the page of the book he’s buried his nose so deep in without sparing a glance at you. adrian isn’t an idiot. for as long as he’s lived, he’s quite far from it. he’s already aware of what’s sure to come if you’re given too much of his attention and he’s not in the mood to entertain it.

“okay. adrian, is there not a better way to pass the time? i’ve grown very tired of sleeping and all of my friends are too busy for me.” you sit up up a swift motion. your curls move in accordance and dust the back of your neck.

“perhaps you would be more delighted if you’d help them with their duties,” adrian says. it comes out more of a mumble, dulcified by his smooth way of speaking.

you can only roll your eyes and settle into a new position, throwing your legs over the chair and resting your head atop the coffee table. you swear you’ve read every book on the shelf, explored every book and cranny in the castle. you can feel your beauty wasting away the longer you sit and do nothing. “how about you do something for me, for once. suggest something i can do.”

“i do everything for you and you know that. now, i’m going to ignore you.” there’s a chuckle in his voice, light and airy. as if there’s anything funny about the disastrous situation you’re in. a castle, just to yourselves, and he won’t a single thing with you.

you huff and puff, placing your feet onto the hand-stitched rug beneath you. “you’re not serious. you can’t be.” your pillow soft lips are already fixed into a pout and even more so when you’re met with absolute silence.

not even a glance.

“adrian tepes!” you’re on your feet and marching to his side before you can even think, hands planted firmly on your hips and ready to give him a scolding.

it’s only when you’re standing beside him that he cannot ignore your presence. in fact, adrian graces you with a smile, fangs just barely visibly. “mrs. tepes,” his hand comes around your waist to rest on your back, “you’re being unreasonable.”

the cheeks of your face flush with a heat you’ve only ever felt with him. you curl your lips in on each other to disguise your growing smile. the shyness hits your body all at once and you’re at a loss for words.

“is it not my job to give the kind people resources and knowledge they’ve lost over the years? if they’re going to rebuild their village, they should be properly equipped. i am sharing my land, after all.” adrian gathers you into his lap, sweeping the fabric of your long nightgown out of the way and smoothening it out.

the silence is palpable and never-ending. it’s prompting a response, one that you’re nearly obliged to give.

“well . . ., yeah.” your press the palm of your hand against your lips in an act of both defiance and guilt. you’re wrong and you know you’re wrong. you don’t need an old vampire to explain it to you.

his fingers dance along the silk, sliding the fabric along your thighs. it brings a subtle chill down your spine and prickles goosebumps on the surface of your skin. “yeah. so this tantrum you’re experiencing, it’s unreasonable. will you allow me ten minutes? please?”

there’s a moment where you consider saying no. the pretty little thoughts in your head whir and whir with the possibilities. saying no and what? he’d listen? adrian is a bit of pushover but he’s not dense. he wouldn’t do everything your heart desires. of course, you could always agree and end up alone, ignored, and pushed aside. you’re pursing your lips again, already ready to voice your opinions but your words get caught in your throat.

you’re choking on them when the same fleeting fingers are hiking up the hem of your dress, skimming along your inner thigh. sneaky badtard he is, using unfair advantages.

“adrian,” you mewl, grasping at his forearm in an attempt to stop him from progressing. “it’s unfair.”

he simpers, his attention delving into the many words floating on the stiff paper bound together by string and a cover. “you poor thing.” adrian’s fingers hike further and further until they’re ghosting over your clothed clit, throbbing in anticipation.

“can’t sit still for even a moment. should i give you something to whine about?” adrian flicks the book closed with one fluid motion of your wrist. it snaps and becomes a desolate memory in the back of your mind.

there’s a warble that builds in your throat when the pads of his tips move your panties aside and become busy in your sticky cunt. your chest rises and falls with each breath.

any thought you’ve previously had is ripped from your brain when your eyes meet adrien’s. they’re narrow, smirky, and knowing, watching your every move.

you stay like that, seated on his lap and entranced by those amber shaded eyes and perfectly at his disposal, rolling through the pleasure as it comes.

Getting into an argument with them (Jeff the Killer edition)

Written as platonic as per usual jeff writing's!! I know I just started a series of character scenarios with the "undressing them to get to a wound" thing but this one hit me like a sack of bricks I need it so so bad anyways imma write this and maybe one more entry for this new mini prompt series thing.... i need to come up with a better name hisshiss... will write more characters in the coming days, hopefully!

it gets nasty really fast, i think... do i think there would be any physical aggression? he might push you a bit when he leaves the room but i think he would storm off before he does anything stupid; i mean youre one of his only friends and hes not about to ruin that

^ ignoring the fact that you guys got into a heated screaming match over something that probably wasnt even that deep in the first place

jeff is not one to compromise a lot of the time, i think, and hes a bit of a hot head so him getting at least a little irritated during conflicts is a fairly common occurence

arguments kind of bounce between him trying to play off the problem and water it down, and him doing everything he can to justify his stance

not likely to apologize first, unless it was a case of him being so deeply in the wrong that even he can pull his head out of his ass

less of a verbal apologizer as he is an action one; will clean up your place a bit (something he never does) or might buy (steal) you some of your favorite snacks

the topic still might be a little sore so be careful if you want to approach him again to try to work on a solution/compromise

overall i think out of all the characters, hes the worst when it comes to arguments simply because hes stubborn on his stance and can get riled up very easily; tends to also leave a sour taste in the air after it

if this were formatted as one of my group posts i'd probably put him in dead last of... idk some list rating each character whos the most calm/understanding during disagreements

he probably also sometimes eggs other people on because he finds it a little entertaining; will laugh in their face, hes already done it before

really most of his anger comes from if you try to insult him or change his plans rather than just being mad at him for like. i dont know kind of being an ass, he knows hes an asshole and he thinks its kind of funny that people get so mad

Know that asking me this was a mistake because I’m RABID for them. I’m FOAMING at the mouth and shaking just at being asked to ramble about my boys because I am plagued by thoughts of them that I’m absolutely going to unleash upon you now.

This is not going to be coherent at all. I apologise for that.

By the way— since I already talk about Shiloh way too much, he’s not going to have his little section here. If you want to see my rambles about him, please check my masterlist!

I’m probably going to talk about Jeremy separately because…. I actually haven’t finished his route. It’s the only one that’s left.

Since you asked about him first, Nate is one of my favourite boys. I have a special place in my heart for him because he kind of reminds me of my girlfriend, and I do think that his dynamic with JB is one of the most entertaining in the bunch. He’s always snapping back at her and it’s so fucking funny. Every time they’re out together I keep getting this mental image of JB being strapped in a baby leash with Nate trailing behind her like an exhausted parent.

Like Shiloh, he’s also a character that I think about a LOT, particularly about the way he handles (or does not handle) his emotions and his obsessive need to have control over everything around him.

I think it’s really telling that Nate continuously strives for perfection and frequently neglects his own emotional needs when he practically raised himself, admittedly saw the school as his home, and when we know for a fact that he was seen and treated as a mini-adult throughout his life.

Like, you cannot tell me he wasn’t praised endlessly as a child for being independent and self-sufficient and then when he grew older people were constantly exasperated that he was too independent and didn’t know when to ask for help when needed! Nate is probably endlessly confused as to why something that was touted as being such a good trait for a good portion of his life suddenly became a problem.

Anyways, I think it’s kind of tragic how he spent most of his life at that school and I legit teared up when they graduated. It’s also very sweet how despite being a perv and living to make him uncomfortable, JB is surprisingly respectful of his boundaries regarding physical touch and doesn’t push him to kiss or hug her. Yeah, she teases him about missing the perfect moment but she’s happy to let him decide when he’s ready to do all of that!

It’s also nice that she tries to support him, even if she isn’t exactly good at it. SHE’S TRYING HER BEST BC THEY LEGIT LIKE EACH OTHER EVEN IF THEY BOTH HAVE ISSUES!!

Regarding Everett… I didn’t expect to like his route as much as I did, but he has SO MUCH ANGST POTENTIAL.

Like, his whole relationship with Nate? The fact that he’s a momma’s boy?? HE WAS REJECTED BY PRAN In like, the WORST way possible??

It’s just, chef’s kiss. A whole lotta angst wrapped inside a tiny, hipster-shaped package. Pure perfection.

My only issue with his route is that the whole time, I felt like JB was getting in between him and Nate. This is my headcanon, but I feel like after high school, if JB and Everett don’t immediately have an explosive, dramatic breakup there are only two possible routes: either he leaves her for Nate or they add Nate into the mix.

I’m sorry, but no other alternatives compute for me, not after their conversation in the tunnel of love. That shit goes way past just a codependent friendship.

I think I’ve mentioned this once before but Bae is likely my second favorite jerksquad guy. I can’t really explain why his condescension is so funny to me, but it might be because my favorite parts of the game were the group meetings and Bae’s borderline paternalistic attitude towards the other characters (because he’s mAtURE and knows what’s best for them) and his sarcasm made for some really great dialogue and some of the funniest scenes in my opinion.

Just as a side note— I played xoxo blood droplets and Bae’s route made me realize how much potential he has to be a yandere in an au! And now that I’m thinking about this I NEED to write about it. Even if it’s just headcanons or something.

I love him in game. I’d probably throw hands with him three minutes into a conversation if he existed IRL. I sent my girlfriend screenshots of his sons of his scenes while I played and she said that I was a bit like him. It made me reevaluate my life LOL

Okay so, I’m going to be real with you: Pran is my least favorite of the boys. I’ll admit that when I played through his route last year I kept complaining about not having that much fun and not liking him a lot as a character. My view changed as I got to the end of the game:

Pran’s is still my least favorite route but he’s one of the most interesting guys to analyze.

In the end, even if it took me a bit to get into it, I still ended up enjoying it immensely anyway.

I think what made me dislike him at first was that, ironically, I think that Pran as a character works best in group scenes. He’s a contrarian and he’s very quiet most of the time, which makes his very occasional interjections some of the funniest moments in the meetings, but that’s also why I didn’t find his dates as fun LOL

I think that with the other characters I had a better time because how they played off JB during their dates, while with Pran it was funny to see JB trying so hard to engage with him or get a rise out of him just for him to barely react (and it makes the instances where she does manage to catch him off guard very rewarding) on the first few times, but it started to get old for me. There’s only so many times I can hear him say no, and that he doesn’t care before it gets annoying.

For me the highlight of his route was seeing Shiloh have a weird, one-sided beef with him. Shiloh pretends to like everyone but this is where he draws the line apparently 😭

Anyways, you might be wondering why I said he’s one of my favourites to analyse if I didn’t have much fun playing through his route. That’s mostly because of his backstory, which I genuinely find to be fascinating.

He’s basically a textbook example of avoidant attachment, which is due to the severe neglect he suffered as a child. Honestly, I could make a whole post about this alone if anyone is interested.

That coupled with having to adopt a mentality where nothing he ever did or said was ever right, because either his parents or grandparents would get upset, which led to him always being quiet or choosing the contrarian option, and you get a pretty fascinating character to think about. It’s interesting to examine his relationships through this lense: it makes complete sense that Pran has a difficult time engaging with JB and connecting to her emotional needs. The few relationships he has maintained exist out of necessity! And he tries so hard to push her away, in the same way he pushed everyone else away, but she just refuses to leave. Refuses to accept defeat. She’s fully determined to figure him out and make their weirdass relationship work and it’s something I admire JB for. That girl is a TROOPER.

So one of the guys has to come collect her (it’s Egon, let’s be honest) and bring her upstairs to bed, and she’s “fighting” it the whole time. It’s just a very funny and adorable situation I think about a lot. 🙃

KATE, IN FACT, ALMOST DID NOT TURN OUT perfectly fine. She hadn't slept for about three days and she almost shot up the whole place with her proton pack when it was supposed to be recharging for the next bust. But Kate, all by herself in the dark, scared herself and almost half the people in the Firehouse due to her freaking out about some ghost being the Firehouse when it wasn't possible. If there was, that would've been a huge problem.

But luckily, Janine had managed to get to her first before she could do any damage that they couldn't pay for. She took the wand from her hand, and made sure that she took the pack off her back before putting it away. She walked towards Kate, shaking her head.

"Kate," Janine started, a sigh escaped her lips as she crossed her arms, "This morning, you thought a ghost made your toast."

Kate looked at Janine like she was insane. Well, more scared than anything. "I didn't put the bread in! You didn't put the bread in! So who else did it?"

"I saw you put the toast in there," Janine replied.

"Janine, I swear to you. I didn't put the bread in there!" Kate huffed.

"Yeah, okay."

Kate had been talking Janine's ear off. Janine usually didn't mind having a conversation with her, considering they're the only two women working at the Firehouse. But she quickly realizes that sleep-deprived Kate was a whole different story.

One time, they managed to get into some sort of silly argument over who could slide down the pole the fastest. Janine was barely upstairs. Janine didn't even use the pole. But she entertained Kate's antics anyways.

Janine had her head down on the desk. "Kate, for the last time, I am not watching you slide down that pole again. If I see you spin on it one more time──"

She hadn't even finished her statement. Egon has walked into the room. He passed her desk, saying, "It's alright, I got her."

Egon walked toward the pole. "Kate, sweetheart, you need to sleep," he says.

"I don't want to! I wanna go onto the pole again," she whined.

Egon ends up taking her away from the pole. He swiftly carries her over his shoulder, a sigh escaped his lips as he carries her up the stairs to her room. "Not on my watch. When you sleep, that's when you can go on the pole again."

"You're no fun," Kate said to him.

"I may not be fun now, but you will thank me later after you get some sleep," Egon says.

He makes it up to the room. Egon gently puts Kate down on the bed. When she hits the bed, she's pretty much out like a light. He leaned down, giving her a kiss to her forehead.

"Goodnight, Kate."

PERSONALITY

A lover, a hater, a sweetheart and a bitch. Rosienne is definitely one of the nicer people at Night Raven College, or at least he definitely seems that way. He's energetic, has a flair for the dramatic, is very talkative (some say - overly so) and incredibly extroverted. No matter the circumstances, he's always ready to strike up a conversation and make new friends. He likes giving other people advice and helping them with their problems, though he often tends to disregard the wishes of the people he tries to help as he's often convinced he's the one in the right, no matter what. Despite that, his advice is actually often pretty good.

According to the legend, it was the very palace where the Beautiful Princess had fallen in love with her cursed lover, and that over the course of time it had ended up in the hands of one of the families who had worked there as servants. Now while a small part of it serves as a place to live for Rosienne and his family, most of it has been turned into a tourist attraction that has been managed by the Minuits for generations.

Rosienne's parents divorced when he was still little — his mother couldn't handle living in such a place, away from people. Rosienne stayed with his father, as the two of them were always close. He loved living in the castle, the mysterious atmosphere of it, and he would always help his dad run the businesses, often acting as the guide or dressing up to entertain the tourists.

While his home life was a quite happy one, his school life — not so much. He always felt out of place with the other kids. Too loud, too enthusiastic, too focused on his books and daydreams, too weird. His reputation as the "creepy castle kid" didn't help him much.

Over the years he had learned how to act in order to get accepted by his peers — turn his awkwardness into something funny, become just quirky instead of weird — but oftentimes, it was still not enough. He still couldn't find close friends and as he entered his teenage years, the problem of relationships arose. He had always dreamed about finding his own fairy tale love, but as his classmates were finding their first adolescent romances, all of that seemed to simply... pass him by. If anything, people would only ask him out as a joke. Was he not as pretty as the other people? Did he need to be?

Coming to Night Raven College was supposed to be a new beginning for Rosienne. In a place where no one knew him, he could become a different person, finally become popular and find his only and real true love.

Well. With varying degrees of success.

RELATIONSHIPS

Lysander [OC] — since Lysander spends so much time at Pomefiore and is close friends with Vil, the two of them were bound to interact quite often. Lysander is often suitably intimidated by Rosienne, but he appreciates the fact that Rosienne seems to know so much about the other students and often finds it useful. Meanwhile Rosienne thinks Lysander is both cute and fun to tease, especially when it comes to Lysander’s crush on a certain hunter (Rosienne is their #1 shipper). They're quite good friends, even if sometimes Lysander wishes that Rosienne would stop commenting on his love life so much.

Vil Schoenheit — it was hate at first sight. Rosienne thought Vil was nothing more than a spoiled brat, somebody vain and shallow, who only cares about conventional beauty standards, and happily told him so, on the first day of classes no less. They would often clash and argue, and their little back-and-forth had became famous around the school. Over time though, Rosienne had realised that he had horribly misjudged Vil and the two of them had managed to put their differences aside and actually become close friends. Vil had helped Rosienne a lot with gaining more self confidence and finding his own style. And so of course Rosienne had to go and ruin their friendship by falling in love. He's angry at himself for catching feelings because well, there's no way someone like Vil would ever return his feelings, right? Right?

Rook Hunt — the two of them have been friends ever since their freshman year. Rosienne had found Rook different and interesting, and he liked the way Rook talked about beauty. Unfortunately, Rosienne's type is just "people who are nice to him", which means that he quickly caught feelings which only served to drive the divide between Rosienne and Vil deeper, as Rosienne was plain old jealous of Vil and the way Rook talked about him. While Rosienne is past any romantic feelings now, they're still close friends now and often walk around school gossiping about something in french.

Epel Felmier — Epel reminds Rosienne a lot of himself when he was younger, and as so, he has a soft spot of the boy. During the events of book 5 Epel would often go to Rosienne to vent his frustrations, as Rosienne seemed the most like an "uninvolved third party". Unfortunately for him, it often quickly turned into Rosienne trying to give him dating advice. After all, is there something sweeter than true love?

Lilia Vanrouge — Rosienne was always drawn to people who seem, well, different. He always thought that Lilia was cool and interesting, he just wasn't sure how to approach somebody like that. Somehow it was the fae who approached Rosienne first, probably sensing Rosienne's interest and finding it amusing. They're pretty good friends and Lilia is about the only person whose advice Rosienne is actually willing to listen to.

Cater Diamond — the two of them had meet during their entrance ceremony and quickly found common ground. They would've probably became friends if not for Rosienne's insistence to pry into other people's affairs. Cater wasn't happy to find out that Rosienne is using his signature spell on him, while Rosienne couldn't understand what Cater's angry about — Rosienne just sensed that there's something bothering him and wanted to help, alright? Two years later and Rosienne still can't let the topic drop. He thinks Cater is making fuss out of nothing and that everything would be over and done with if he would only let Rosienne help him.

Even in our own world, there's still a lot of stigma around "red light districts" and/or the industries they involve (sex work, alcohol, recreational drug use, etc). While you should always be careful and responsible with these activities, they are not inherently bad!

(I feel like some people might have gotten the wrong idea about my thoughts on these things--specifically, on drug use--from my last post. But please don't misunderstand; I am NOT against any of these things. What I AM against is people deliberately exploiting others using these things, fueling addiction for their own profit. ♡)

CBS Ghosts Review: Holes Are Bad

Before I go on, I bet there will be a lot of repetition in this from all the other posts full of feels that I've been making but there are just so many feels that I couldn't save them all for just one review. Okay, moving on.

As I and I know many others feel, this is definitely one of the standouts of an admittedly only okay season (Although even here, when they come up with good ones, they're REALLY good) if not the whole series.

There are times when you have different plotlines and they don't connect well at all, and times when even the most different seeming plotlines can mix really well. The idea of dealing with literal and metaphorical holes as a connecting theme was really a good idea. (Although as I've said before, just coming up with a plotline of throwing Thor, Sas, and Isaac in a hole so they don't see Hetty die, thus her COD is a surprise to everyone was a bit too convenient for me, if I have one criticism.) However if they show us Patience (which I think they might, cause I mean why just bring up some random ghost who could very well have a grudge against Isaac right before something important that could be ruined because of said grudge..such as his wedding?) I could forgive it. The fact that his sneezing once again spelled doom for someone as it had with Nigel was a nice call back but really get that guy some meds or something. I do love the times when Isaac has actual knowledge that can solve problems that the ghosts have like knowing about possession or holes. It's nice seeing smart, capable Isaac.

I facepalmed for sure when we discovered that Thor had technically known where Flower was for ages but thanks to her wording and possibly his wish that she were in a better place, he interpreted it wrong (sort of like the game Telephone, maybe?) so Flower had to wait longer than she would have if it would have one of the other ghosts taking a walk at the edge of the property.

But it did my heart good that once everyone DID realize where she was, everyone just immediately was like "We gotta run out to the well and save Flower!" and there was no hesitation for ANYBODY, even like Isaac who is not especially close to Flower and who before now, I didn't think particularly thought of her in a friendly light. And I loved the ticking clock with the cement in the well too and the tension that added.

Speaking of tension...not having Jay and Sam there really enriched this episode, and I'm glad (even if it was just one of their clever ways of hiding Rose's pregnancy or whatever) that the show was willing to try something like that. Cause Ghosts is NOT the Sixth Sense where every ghost is an island who can't talk to anyone else and get help and just needs a living to get stuff done. No. I mean, Sam is needed for some things for sure but there are times when the ghosts are perfectly capable of just solving things amongst themselves, so use it! (Plus I think its extremely entertaining, too and I would like more.)

Which brings us to the big thing: Hetty and her death. Oh, my gosh. When she rolled her collar down and we saw the cord....and everyone's faces as she unraveled it...it was so powerful and so well acted by everyone, especially Rebecca.

And I feel like not only was she saving Flower by undoing the cord but also taking agency of what happened to her too. Now that she used the cord to save Flower, it's not just the tool of her demise, but something that was also used to save a friend. a tool of life as well as death, in a sense. You know...not that that erases the darker part of what it means but maybe it'll add a little light to the darkness too.

And I loved Flower thanking her. She was sincere, she was sweet, she was lucid...it was something that was taken seriously for the character. And sure we got old Flower back after, but it was so sweet. Now they've both help give one another new life.

And because I like ending on happy notes...I love that even the flashbacks had some funny moments, like Hetty giving the lawyer her number and it was just 4. Or just the absurdity of her asking her poor butler to take all the bullets the police are gonna shoot and he's just like "Yes, ma'am."

It was so meaningful and well-written, good juxtaposition between Hetty's story and Flower. (And were we really surprised to find out Ralph got sucked off? I think it was just confirmation for a lot of us. And nice to know Pete was right. It WAS a basement ghost!)

Now...next week it looks like we get powers from Pete, hopefully Carol moving on (although please let her and Flower meet before she goes,) and of course...one week closer to the Nisaac dinosaur wedding! Can't wait to see how this finishes off.

There's actually a few things I want to talk about in regard to these panels because it is rather interesting.

Hanma wasn't going to be kicked out of Toman.

To me, this is particularly interesting to note Because Chifuyu says he told Mikey everything that happened. Which surely would include Hanma being the one to beat and bind him, even if it was Kisaki's plan.But there weren't going to be any repercussions for Hanma. Only Kisaki was going to have to face the consequences. Hanma had the verbally interrupt the meeting himself. No one had even acknowledged him. Which is rather funny because this continues to be a theme. Hanma is there, Hanma is involved....but he's very rarely the direct target until he MAKES himself into one. It's interesting considering he is a genuine threat. But not in the ways others are threats.

I've been pondering over this and I think this was a deliberate choice on Mikey's part. Mikey acknowledges he knows of Kisaki's underhand tactics and turned a blind eye up to this point towards Kisaki. Mikey's aware of the darkness and the fact growing bigger means that darkness will also grow. Kisaki has goals. Hanma however....doesn't. He's quite content to wear the title of asshole, of being unlikable, blah blah blah. Hanma's ironically very good at rallying people around him, both in Moebius where he was a temporary leader and as Valhalla's leader. Someone has to carry the darkness for Toman. Kisaki, evidently, was no longer acceptable. But Hanma....Hanma could work. Hanma isn't very interest in schemes or motive beyond entertainment. If Mikey leaves Hanma in Toman, then Toman has someone to pin or push the darkness towards, and punish if he feels like it. ( After all, Hanma mentions having no problem punishing when we first meet him. )

2. Hanma's continued leadership + being in places of authority.

I mentioned above how it's ironic that Hanma is good at rallying people around him. Hanma doesn't have a goal or dream. And yet he's constantly in places of power. Moebius, Valhalla, Toman's 6th Division Captain, etc. He's constantly find himself in these spots and he's quite good at it. He's content to let people do their thing and rarely intervenes but is forceful when he does so. He does actually consult with those close, like asking Kazutora's opinion and approval with Baji, hearing what people see and say. If he needs or wants to, Hanma CAN lead...he just doesn't have much interest in it. He is more of the lone wolf type, or sticking to one or two others.

And yet, ALL of the former Moebius and Valhalla members would rather leave with Hanma than stay in Toman. Sure, there'd probably lots of resentment. But to think all of them would choose to follow Hanma out is rather shock and impressive. Especially because I doubt they're all still in Hanma's rank and some are probably scattered throughout the other other divisions ( although maybe not, who knows. ) It's mentioned later that Toman is back down to 100 members - so Hanma wasn't bluffing. They really did all follow him like he said they would

Maybe these are small little details that don't really matter to anyone. But they were very interesting to me the more i reflected on them. Hanma's one of those characters we don't know much about ever, and he's easy to make both characters and readers focus on a few things about him rather than a lot of both nonverbal or short-lived moments where other sides or talents of him show up.
