Simon Riley (Priest AU) - Forgive me, Father.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Simon “Ghost” Riley x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2,203
Warnings: MDNI 18+ ☆ Sacrilege, priest, mentions of prayer and common language used in confessionals - overall religious content that may upset some. Abuse of power. Mentions of being used and somnophilia. Cussing. Masturbation (Simon & reader).
Summary: After having improper thoughts weighing guilt on your mind, you decide to resort to confession. Simon has methods of how you can be forgiven.
Notes: Um, well, yeah. I’m not sure what to say. Writing this whole thing was a 'damn, Catholicism ingrained in me fr' moment from how I literally closed my eyes to remember how I would walk into church & what would be said in confession. Ha. Anyway. Minimal proofreading, I felt too dirty to re-read.

Tumblr media
You weren't a frequent churchgoer. After years of Catholic school, it all became tiring and felt almost forced at this rate, but you went for the holidays like Easter & Christmas - at your grandparents request to be fair.
But, old habits die hard and one day you find yourself pulling into the parking lot of the church. Maybe it was the Catholic guilt ingrained in you that drew you to go today.
The large wood doors creaked as you opened them and walked into the church. Every Catholic church looked the same to you - the stained glass, the architecture, the same old wooden pews either their original wood or coated in layers of white paint refreshed over the years. And every church you had ever been to was always so cold - why?
Every single move was like muscle memory. Your fingers dipped into the font that contained the holy water, quietly whispering as you did the sign of the cross and genuflected.
Your eyes scanned the church, noting the layout as you located the confessional. Once you entered and sat down, you rang the tiny bell to indicate your presence. Heavy footsteps outside getting closer as you heard the priest enter the other side of the confessional, the divider sliding open so you can only make out the figure through the tiny holes.
"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." The words are spoken in unison. His voice is clearer to you now as he only speaks now, "May God who has enlightened every heart, help you to know your sins and trust in His mercy." In response, you quietly whisper 'amen' in return.
Clearing your throat and tucking a piece of hair behind your ear, you prepare to speak. "Bless me Father, for I have sinned. My last confession was 5 years ago. These are my sins.." The list of sins are far more minimal in nature such as disrespecting your parents, gossiping, lying and so forth.
Then, you finally get to what has been weighing on your mind like a ton of bricks. "And impure thoughts.." Your words trailing off, the sound of the priest shifting on the other side noticeable from the close proximity despite the divider separating you both. "In order to truly know the severity, what do these impure thoughts include, my child?" He asks, your body tensing as the question catches you off guard. "Ah, regarding premarital sex acts, Father."  You respond, fingers fidgeting with the rings on your hands. "Explain." This is all he says before the silence lingers in the small space before you speak again. "This is only to help your absolution." His voice urges you to continue, the words trying to ease you to come clean. “Well," Swallowing the lump in your throat, your cheeks burning from embarrassment despite your identity being unknown to him. "The thoughts consist of being used at will by a man. To be degraded and fucked until I'm begging for him to stop, but my whines only encourage him to continue. I don't want him to stop.” Your voice is strained, as if you're scared to admit it out loud. And truthfully, this was the first time you had admitted the thoughts out loud.  Your thighs squeeze together as your brain digs deeper into the thoughts you’ve been suppressing for a few months now.
The sound of the priest clearing his throat pulls your attention back. “Surely that isn’t all, my child.” He says, and you shake your head in response even if he can’t see. “N-No. That isn’t all.” Rings spinning around your fingers as you continue to fidget from nerves. “Please remember, I need to know everything to offer you absolution.” Nodding, you swish spit in your mouth to coat the dryness to some extent and swallow.
“I-I think about being woken up in the night, the man already buried deep in me. My body  doesn’t resist the feeling and clenching around him as my consciousness regains from sleep.” The heat between your thighs grows as you now shift in the seat, one leg moves to cross over the other in an effort to control the sensation.
The sound of a zipper coming undone is undeniable as your ears pick up on it, your lips parting slightly from shock as you process what’s happening on the other side of the confessional. “Father?” Your voice barely whispers, wondering if you acknowledge it, then he would stop. “Are these thoughts about anyone specific?” He mutters, his hand palming himself through his boxers. “No, just general desires, Father.”
He inhales a breath and exhales before he speaks. “Have you acted on these thoughts?” No, but you fucking wish. “No, Father.” And maybe it was your own thoughts warping, but you could have sworn you heard him mumble the words, ‘Forgive me, Father’.
On the other side of the confessional, unbeknown to you, the priest had now pulled his cock free from the constraints of his briefs. Biting back a groan, his hand comes up to his mouth as he quietly spits into his palm before he wraps it around himself. “For your penance, you must do exactly as I say, understood?” He speaks, his voice sounds low, demanding in a way.
“Understood, Father.” You reply, your chest rising and falling slowly as you anticipate what he is going to say next. “We must rid you of these thoughts. You need to release them.” He murmurs, his hand slowly pumping up and then down. “Be a good girl and spread your legs.”
Oh my God. Like actually, oh my God. Your brain rings in your head, doing as you're told and spreading your legs. Hearing the movement, he continues to speak. “My child, what are you wearing?” The question is simple, your hand already sliding down to the exposed panties your dress reveals once your legs are spread. “Knee length sundress.” You respond, your head leaning back against the wood of the confessional as your fingers rub the fabric covering your already wet cunt. “Hmm, and I suppose that length is useless as your legs are spread. Exposing yourself like a good girl, but such a slut.” The word slut drips from his mouth like venom, the tone of his voice sending excitement through your body. “Slide the panties off.” He orders, and you obey as you reach for the waistband and slide them down to your ankles, shaking them off to the floor of the confessional. “They’re off, Father.” You whisper, glancing at the divider. Never in your life did you want to be seen more than in this moment. “Father Simon.” He corrects. “Call me Father Simon.”
“Father Simon.” You repeat the name he asked you to call him. A quiet groan travels to your side of the confessional and you can’t help but move your fingers to rub between your folds. The fact he was groaning to you just saying his title was causing your stomach to tie into knots. “What do I need to do, Father Simon?” You beg, wanting him to continue directing you. “Such an eager girl to be forgiven. You wouldn’t need forgiveness if you weren’t such a slut.” He hissed. “But you come into this confessional and speak of how you wish to be used. To be degraded. Do you think you can be forgiven?”
“I-I want to be forgiven.” Your fingers build up your excitement, teasing your folds as your fingers move to give your clit some attention as you rub it gently. “I’m sorry, Father Simon. I’m sorry.” You choke out, almost forgetting to breathe amidst the pleasure. “Just because you’re sorry does not guarantee forgiveness.” Simon’s own hand continues to pump his cock, his thumb brushes over the head as some pre-cum oozes out. “You sound stupid saying sorry. Saying sorry while I can hear your hand moving as you touch yourself. Take those fingers and fuck yourself with three of them.” The order coming out of his mouth leaves you breathing shakily.
“F-Father, three?” You ask in order to clarify his demand. “R-Right away?” You needed time to adjust, even with your own slender fingers it took time before you could even have two. “You heard me.” He responds, letting out a frustrated sigh. “Don’t disappoint me, sweetheart.” Simon’s hand starts to pump his cock faster, his free hand moves to massage his balls.
While you’re already wet, just to be sure you take your index, middle and ring finger to your lips. Your mouth wrapping around the fingers, sucking and swirling your tongue to coat them in saliva. Pulling them away, you carefully position them, teasing your entrance before you push into yourself. Your free hand covers your mouth as you feel them stretching you slightly. A moan muffled by your hand is the additional sound mixed with your fingers starting to pump in and out of you, the wet stickiness filling the confessional. “Oh, sweetheart. You must look so beautiful spread out fucking yourself with your fingers.” Simon coos through the divider, his breaths shallow. “I wish I could bury my cock into that wet, tight cunt. Let me hear you pray to God for that.”
Closing your eyes as he speaks, you imagine the priest grabbing your hips and forcing himself into you, despite having no idea of his appearance. Your head against the wood of the confessional again as you try to hold your moans in even with your hand over your mouth, scared if anyone else were to enter the church they would hear you both behind these curtains. “I don’t hear you.” Simon growls, glancing at the divider to barely see the movements of your hand as your body moves in response. “G-God, please. I want Father Simon’s cock.” He hears you whimper quietly, a grin forming on his face. “Oh..such a good, good girl.” Simon’s voice acknowledging your compliance. Your fingers curl inside as he praises you, allowing yourself the small reward. “Father Simon, I-I’m so wet.”
“Mmph..those pretty little fingers must be slick with your juices.” Simon’s own head leaning against the wood of the confessional now, eyes closed as he pumps his cock faster and pushes down hard. The image of his cock disappearing in between your folds making his thoughts spin. “Keep pumping those fingers. We need to make you cum. Release the thoughts that are rotting your brain.” Simon’s teeth grit together, a soft hissing sound coming out as his pump down puts pressure on him.
Not trusting yourself, your hand is back on your mouth. The sound of your wet cunt getting pumped with your fingers fills both your ears and Simon’s, the squishing sounds push him closer to his own release. And for you, the thought of his cock instead of your fingers pulling you closer to the edge before you jump off and release. Whimpering into your palm, you clench around your fingers and pump a few more times before releasing around them. Your thighs immediately squeezing shut as you try to control your shaking. “S-Simon.” You cry softly, lips parted as you pant softly. “F-Fuck.” He groans, the hand not pumping his now cum covered cock fists and hits the confessional wall. The release that had been building up in him for months now.
“In addition, you leave your panties behind. Along with that, I expect you to recite twenty Hail Mary’s and twenty Our Father’s after your release. Make an act of contrition.” His voice strained from his recent climax. Dazed from your own climax as well, the words come out of your mouth without hesitation, “My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good…” Pausing for a brief moment, you swallow a lump in your throat. “I have sinned against You, whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with Your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. In His Name, my God, have mercy. Amen.” After the words leave your lips, you catch your breath again.
The sound of Simon readjusting and zipping himself up is the only sound you hear in response. “F-Father?” You say softly, awaiting for him to absolve you. “My child…” Simon’s voice sounds like it did when you first sat in the confessional. “God cannot give you pardon and peace as of today. Therefore, I cannot absolve you of your sins. Come back in five days after I’ve had some time to rest and ask God for a final answer.”
And with that, the sound of footsteps fill the church once more, followed by the door to the sacristy opening and closing indicating he would not be seen by you when you left. The response leaves you stunned for a few moments, before your legs get the strength to stand up and exit the confessional. The hand you didn’t use to finger yourself gently dips into the font as you leave, the sign of the cross spoken softly as you walk out.

Left Behind Part 2 (Lucien x reader)
a/n: your wish is my command even if only one or two people wish, it is still my command. Wow 2 posts in one day!
⚠️: few curses
Masterlist part 1 part 3 epilogue
Luciens POV
Luciens words rang through the room before silence fell again. Finally Alex growled and drew a knife. Lucien started at the sight of the blade, he’d gifted that to y/n when they first became a couple.
“I am so such thing. I am y/n’s daughter because my so called ‘father’ never bothered with me.” She snarled and advanced on Lucien. He opened his mouth but no words came out because he knew she was right. He hadn’t bothered with this girl at all. jurian stepped forward, wrapping his arms around Alex to restrain her.
“I- I didnt know you existed, Im so sorry.”
“Sorry dosent cover it, father. You at least could have visited my mom, you two lovebirds were together 37 years after all.” Alex put the knife away and Jurian hesitantly released her. Lucien felt like ducking under the table and yelling I dont exist! Alex started again, “and you broke up with her for a female who has been giving you the cold shoulder ever since you’ve met!” Alex sat down miserably her indifferent mask falling into a mask of anger and longing. longing for a fatherly figure, Lucien realized. this time when Alex spoke her voice was softer, “Mom got a promotion to emissary of the dawn court 5 years ago but she couldnt even enjoy it because you promised her that once she got that promotion, the two of you would go to the winter court together. She hasn’t even looked at another male in that way because she still fucking loves you. You who left her for another, you who never came back, not even to visit. And yet she still harbors the hope that one day you might return her love. She thinks you're worth fighting for.”
The last words were spoken so softly that Lucien had to lean in to hear them. She thinks you’re worth fighting for. She still loves you.
Lucien stood on wobbly feet and rounded the table to pull his daughter into a tight hug. To be the person she fought for and to be the shoulder she cried on.
*****
Y/N’s POV
Y/n couldn’t find Alex anywhere, having just gotten back from a tiring day at work she had searched most everywhere for the kid. God damned 14 year olds. There was only one place left; Jurian and Vassa’s manor. She groaned at the thought of flying there, plus it was dusk, they would have to stay the night. That is, if Alex was even there.
On the flight to the manor, y/n’s thoughts strayed to Lucien. She, Rhys, and Feyre had become good friends during their meetings they had. Rhys had told her Elain still showed no interest in Lucien (something y/n couldnt fathom) and was always giving him the cold shoulder. That made her feel smug.
When she reached the manor, the sun was down and her wings were starting to ache from all the flying today. Alex had better be here, she was going to murder that child. Y/n banged on the door until she heard footsteps on the other side. The door opened and Jurian stood there, when he beheld her he paled. She cracked a smile. “I don’t look that bad do I?”
Jurian smiled slightly thought it didnt reach his eyes. “Nah, Alex is here.” He sighed, pulling her into a hug. “He’s here. He and Alex… talked. I think they’re getting along. Also, why do I have to play chaperone?”
Y/n stiffened at his words but smiled wryly, “because it’s your house.” She brushed past him with a grateful pat on the back as he followed her to the dining room. She was immediately greeted with a hello and hug from Alex. Stepping around Alex, y/n shot her a look that said, you are so getting murdered. Alex had the nerve to smirk.
“Y/n….”
Her eyes went straight to Lucien and she barley held back a gasp. She hadn’t seen him in so long. He was gorgeous.
Y/n and Lucien stared at eachother for what seemed like eternity until Jurian cleared his throat pointedly.
“As much as I love Fae staring contests, Vassa will be here soon so lets prepare some dinner shall we?”
The two broke eye contact and simultaneously glowered at Jurian. Jurian gulped. Alex saved him. “Im hungry so stop staring and be productive.” Jurian shot her a grateful look. Both fae turned their glares to Alex who dragged Jurian into the kitchen.
It was going to be a long night

called out by @egg-exe to list my favorite character from 10 different fandoms.
I. Do not remember names. And I refuse to look anything up. we'll see how this goes.
1) Kal'Tsit from arknights. I've been low key obsessing over the game for a while now, and Kal is definitely one of the coolest characters. Storied past, cold demeanor belying genuine care and kindness for everyone under her, Mon3tr, the team that made her did a good job and she really just exemplifies the strength of the game in general. But I can talk to the moon and back about how stupid good the writing for arknights is, especially considering it's a gacha mobile game, so ill move on
2) Neopolitan from rwby. I fell in love with rwby's setting all the way back when I first watched it. Its unique mix of fantasy and technopunk drew me in and its character concepts have kept me there ever since. Neo probably the most. A mute character being the wisecracking villain's muscle and making her shorter than literally the rest of the cast? Peak. If only they made a character to go with the cool moves.
3) Princess Zelda in Breath of the Wild. Sweetheart's trying her best and facing frustration at every turn. Somebody hug her I'm begging you. (it's me, the sweetheart is her but also me)
4) Jafar Fire Emblem 7. Played the game years ago, loved his character design and his class(crits go brrrrr), but his story is the real selling point. The way he interacts with Nino is so sweet and I have such a soft spot for both of them(technically illegal two faves from one fandom oops).
I had the next one and then I lost it uhhhhh not the one I had but we'll go with
5) I was going to say a different character from portal but then I remembered the boy: Space Core.
6) Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist. Her relationship with the major is so heartfelt and the writer did them so well. If you've never watched it go and do that cuz it's just so well put together.
7) Padparadsha from Houseki no Kuni. God that manga is a train wreck. Phos you walking disaster. I love it. Anywho, pad is an interesting character in an already very interesting cast of characters. Their entire existence, teetering between waking and immobility is an exploration of how much of the gem is required for them to function. how much them can be removed before they just. cease.
8) Waymond from Everything Everywhere All At Once. First off, if you haven't watched the movie, go see it. Second, damn I didn't think anyone would actually read this far. Waymond is such a wholesome man he changes the way the woman going through the infinite possibilities of the multiverse thinks. He finds joy in everything he does and shares it with everyone around him. Not because he's ignorant of the struggles of life, because with happiness they become easier. And the man that played him is just as sweet. At the Oscar's when it was announced as best picture he went up on stage too and was hugging everyone. I would die for him.
9) Finn from the star wars sequel trilogy. As bad as they were, when the force awakens came out I remember seeing it and being excited to see what they would do with a stormtrooper main character. And then they didn't do anything, wasting all of his potential. But if there's one thing I learned from rwby, it's that someone else was just as disappointed and wrote a fanfiction exploring what canon didn't.
And now time for the niche reach.
10) Maven from the web novel Save the Demon King. Maven is the eponymous demon king, a near mythical figure in setting and the last demon alive. He is such a fun character in a fun setting that is very well written. I refuse to say more except for go read it. It's free on tapas and very good.
Honorable Mention:
I did think of Hades the game as a possible fandom but everyone in it is too good. I can't choose. the short list is half the hub area characters and at least three of the gods on top of that
fuckin hell theres an hour down the drain. gotta keep the chain going so uhhhhh @krindenium you're the only other human that I know on this site.

SESSIONS | LUCAS WONG
genre: fluff, mature themes,
warnings: suggestive grinding, groping
Words: 1,5k
You’re WayVs assistant and you’re incredibly whipped for their charismatic rapper after he stole a steamy kiss from you a year ago.
——————————————————————————
You went through your schedule frantically, realizing that you needed to be somewhere right now. Most of of the staff rooms were empty and you couldn’t find any of the NCT boys anywhere. Being an assistant manager for WayV at SM seemed like a dream job but why have the past couple of months been literal hell ?
SM had hired you to watch over the WayV unit during the resonance promotions seeing as you were the most capable at mandarin than the rest of the assistants, and frankly the only one who hadn’t complained about their recklessness or the farm that was developing at their dorm.
The only issue with being assigned to WayV right now was an attachment to one of the members you wish you’d forgotten. Wong Yukhei, or better known by his stage name Lucas. Ever since you laid eyes on him you felt giddy, like a school girl going through her first crush.
Lucas was so nice to you from the very beginning. He made you comfortable enough to joke around them and always treated you like a friend rather than an employee. The problem though started at SM’s Christmas party a year back.
“Y/n what are you doing here ?” He said, that familiar grin spread across his face as he approached you.
“Hey-y I’m just getting some fresh air” you had responded shyly, leaning against the wall as his huge frame stood in front of you.
“Hey-y I’m just getting some fresh air” you had responded shyly, leaning against the wall as his huge frame stood in front of you.
You couldn’t remember much of how the rest of the conversation went but you do remember at some point Lucas had pinned you against the wall and kissed you. You remembered his large hands grope your thighs as he groaned into the kiss, whispering sweet nothings into your ear. He smelled like tequila and his usual Tom Ford cologne, having him that close was intoxicating. You also remembered when it came to an end, his band mate Yangyang had shouted for him, and Lucas’s last words to you that night was “let me know if you wanna do that again sometime.”
After that night he moved on like nothing happened. It’s not like he didn’t talk to you but he had completely erased that you two had shared an intimate moment together. You hated that after that night your feelings for him had only escalated and unfortunately you couldn’t do anything about that.
You dragged your feet across the floor as you made your way over to the recording studio as that’s where your schedule needed you to be right now. WayV was recording their individual track for the resonance album and you had to make sure all their needs during recording were met.
Opening the door you were greeted by WinWin and Xiaojun, WinWin in the booth and Xiaojun on the couch memorizing his lines.
You playfully nudged him as you took your seat, “you need any snacks or water ?”
“I’m good thanks, the producer just got us drinks too” Xiaojun smiled sweetly.
You nodded and slumped into the couch as he now took his turn and WinWin waved you a goodbye before leaving the studio. Something in you hoped that you missed Lucas’s recording, but a little part of you didn’t.
You got your answer pretty soon when the door flung open and Lucas walked in, sporting a simple black tank top and jeans. His hair was pushed out of his face and he wore clear spectacles. He was effortlessly hot and he knew it.
You had no idea how long you were checking him out but Lucas had noticed and waved his hand in front of your face.
“Hey you” he giggled and awaited a high 5 from you.
You pressed your lips together and hi5ed him, hating that he was still so nice instead of being a dick about the whole situation. Lucas was cocky but not in the way where he would’ve boasted about kissing you or mocked your little crush on him. But it still hurt how normal he was. It hurt so much.
“Alright Lucas we’ll take it from your verse” the producer said as Lucas stepped into the booth and placed the headphones on his head.
He sucked in his lip as his eyebrows knitted together, reading the words before nodding his head to the music that began to fade in.
You knew about their song Nectar. The words, the innuendos, the whole message behind it and it didn’t surprise you that the boys were quite excited to perform this song.
Lucas was his usual playful self, dancing along to the beat and just having fun with the recording. You unconsciously bit down on your lip as Lucas lifted up his shirt in order to feel the cool breeze of the a/c, still dancing along to the beat.
“Great stuff man, hey I’m gonna go meet with the main producers real quick I’ll be back in an hour or so” the producer turned back to you and you nodded.
Suddenly there was an uncomfortable tension in the air as Lucas emerged from the booth and grabbed a bottle of water from the coffee table. You watched as he downed the whole bottle, the veins in his neck became prominent as he swallowed.
You diverted your attention to your phone, hoping he didn’t catch you staring or notice your reddened ears.
“What did you think ?” Lucas asked as he took a seat on the coffee table in front of you, wiping away the small beads of sweat from his forehead.
You looked up at him, “of what...?”
“My recording, stupid” he chuckled and playfully knocked his knee against yours.
“Oh it was good” you replied shyly, his eyes were practically burning into yours as he talked.
Lucas sat back placing his hands behind him for support and spread his legs as he cocked his head to the side.
“I thought you liked me...is it just good?”
“Huh w-what I don’t like you...what” you were a stuttering mess as you tried to compose yourself.
Lucas laughed loud and ran his fingers through his hair, “you’re so cute oh my God it’s insane you know that ?”
You kept quiet, afraid to make yourself look stupid in front of him again when you felt him lean in and place his index finger under your chin, lifting it to meet his gaze once more.
“Those innocent eyes drive me crazy, just like that night we...were together. You remember ?” He licked his bottom lip.
“Y-yeah I do” you murmured placing your hands in your lap and twirled your rings nervously.
“I was waiting for you to let me know when you wanted to do that again and you never did” Lucas pouted and stroked your cheek, “you don’t like me ?”
“No that’s not it!” You blurted and he chuckled. You sighed and swallowed hard, “I do like you Lucas but you just kinda ignored me after so I thought you didn’t like me...”
Lucas’s eyes widened and his lips curled into a smile as he his hands moved to your lap and laced his fingers with yours.
“I clearly remembered telling you to let me know if you wanted to, I thought me kissing you was enough to let you know how I felt about you y/n” Lucas sighed, “when you didn’t respond after I assumed you weren’t into it.”
You groaned loudly and playfully shoved him, “well next time be more clear will you ?!”
Lucas grabbed your face and pulled you into a passionate kiss, quickly dominating it and cheekily bit on your bottom lip before pulling away.
“Is that clear enough for you ?” He said lowly as his hands moved to your sides and drew circles on your hips.
“I meant be more vocal Lucas” you rolled your eyes yet still flushed from his incredible kiss.
Lucas moved from the coffee table to the couch and in one Swift movement he had you on his lap, straddling him.
He laid his head back as he looked at you through hooded eyes and wet his bottom lip with his tongue.
“Vocal huh ?” He mused.
You tried your best not to move on top of him, the last thing you wanted was to get a tiny taste of friction and going all the way in your workplace studio.
“I don’t want to be just a fuck buddy if that’s what you’re into...”
“Now where the hell did I say that damn y/n what do you think of me?” Lucas chuckled and fake cried into his hands.
“I’m sorry I just wanted to put it out there” you bit down on your lip and played with the material of his shirt.
“I want more, Ofcourse I want more” Lucas groaned and pulled you closer, “you know Johnny hyung told me you’re out of my league”
“I-I’m out of y-your league ?”
“I mean he’s kinda right though, you’re perfect I’m sure any of the guys were waiting to get to you” Lucas pouted and placed a soft peck on your neck.
“Well I only want you...” you mumbled not noticing Lucas’s eyes brighten, all you felt was him bear hugging you and placed butterfly kisses all over your face and neck.
“Good!” Lucas grinned before his eyes became dark again, “so now that I’m vocal, I want to hear a different type of vocal from you y/n.”

TLC Ship Week 2021!
*written for tlcshipweek2021- kaider for the prompt 'Journey of Us'
@kaiderforever
Summary:
"I'm thinking."
"A coin for your thought?"
"Nothing much... just I'm 27 and have this beautiful person seating on top of me, not that I'm complaining-"
"Come to the point Kai, you were definitely not thinking that."
...
The night before their second anniversary is quite extra-ordinary as both of them reflect back on their past. The present that they are living seems unbelievable to the two royals- just the two of them, together. What more can they ask for?
Ship: Kaider
Words: 3k
Genre: Fluff, Sick
Prompt: 'Journey of Us'
__
*Post- Winter
Cinder's Perspective:
"I'm so sorry, Kai," she said as he handed her the bowl of soup.
"No worries darling, it doesn't really bother me-"
"Yeah, but I know you wanted to have some alone time and I just ruined your plans."
"C'mon Cinder- you are more important than my plans. Besides we can go after you have recovered."
"Even then I feel extremely sorry for being under the weather at such a happy moment-"
"Sickness does not come looking at your calendar- wondering if it's the right time to crash on Miss Selene now that she does not have anything planned," he jested.
She glared at him while inhaling the smell of the chicken noodle soup wistfully.
"I'm gonna forget you said that because this soup tastes so good. You have really mastered cooking."
"Thanks- I asked Suho for his recipe, seeing how you liked the one he made when we visited them last month."
"So have anything planned- now that I'm going to be staying in the bed for at least two more days?" she questioned.
"Well- No?"
"No?" she mimicked, surprised at his answer. She had assumed he might have come up with some different sort of elaborate plans for the day.
"Like there is not really much I can do with you being sick that will qualify as classy and romantic... you know that right?"
"You don't have to."
"I'm going to!"
The thing they happened to be talking about was their second anniversary. Kai had wanted to go to a nice cottage home that his mother had brought on Wusong Island in Jilin. Cinder knocked off all his plans with the unwanted and very bad timings of the flu she had caught. hence they or rather she was forced to stay in bed for an entirety of 5 days?!- well the doctor had told 3 but her very sensitive and caring husband made it 5.
Her husband observed her as she drank the soup, feeling slightly awkward at the sudden attention she barked, "What?"
"Nothing- just staring at my beautiful wife!"
"Don't- it's making me self-conscious, for a minute I thought I was drinking it wrong or something and you were going to yell at me for not holding my spoon properly. And Kai, stop calling me beautiful when I have a runny nose, that's too sore and pink from all the tissues I am blowing into and I feel like I'm wearing rags right now," she said pointing out to her loose grey t-shirt and shorts, that were quite old with its colour faded still they were comfortable and that's what mattered.
"You always look beautiful to me!"
She smiled and asked, "What do you want?"
"Can't I just call you stunning babe?"
"Oh, and won't you be honest with your beautiful wife?"
He sighed and asked, "Can't I join you?"
She wished he would but instead settled for a bittersweet smile and said, "Kai you won't want to catch the flu. Believe me, you don't want your one nasal cavity feeling like a desert and the other one like a shitty waterfall!"
Kai had been adamant about cuddling while she was sick- she did not want him to catch her sickness. Hell, she would have actually made him sleep on the adjacent very large couch in their room if he would have not been half as stubborn as her. Alas, he would not budge and they had settled for some distance between them for Kai's well being.
"Please," he said in an annoyingly cute way, pouting his lips and crinkling those damn beautiful eyes of his to make an impact.
She was not going to budge to his antics- after all, she was supposed to look after him when he decided to make dumb desires.
"Only if you take the couch to sleep today," she argued.
"Cinder didn't we already talk about this?! I'm not taking the couch even if it's too comfortable and for my own good!"
"Don't tell me, I did not warn you, when you get sick," she said and patted the space near her, keeping the bowl aside while scooting away to make space for him.
He jumped at the offer and settled close to her as she leaned against his chest.
"Hmm... I missed you," he mumbled as he pressed his chin on her head, his words filling the comfortable silence.
"You are not really sad that I'm sick, are you, Kai?"
"I'm not, Cinder- it would not matter if I spend our anniversary on a beach, a cottage or in bed as long as you are there beside me- even if you are sick," he said reassuringly.
"Okay,' she replied.
He drew circles on her back and she reclined into him until she was more or less practically into his lap- all thoughts of making him sick with contact forgotten.
She had almost dozed off when he muttered quietly," Torin said we could have a week off if you wanted."
"Oh? and are you- are we?"
"I dunno, it's not every day that I can take a day or two off and it's pretty chill right now- not much work so I'm thinking about it."
"Maybe we should," she suggested, already knowing that they would be taking a holiday soon.
"Maybe."
They remained silent, just enjoying each other's presence and the quiet around them, the beats of their heart providing a soothing sound as they beat together. She would have been more than happy to sleep like that- in Kai's arms with the rhythm of their hearts as music to her ears.
"I'm thinking," he whispered his lips near her ear.
"A coin for your thought?"
"Nothing much... just I'm 27 and have this beautiful person seating on top of me, not that I'm complaining-"
"Come to the point Kai, you were definitely not thinking that," she challenged.
"Well,- yeah you caught me there- just I'm so happy in this moment. I married the love of my life and 10 years ago, I would have never thought that I would end up where I am right now."
Thinking over his words, she responded, "Well you would not be the only one now there now, would you?"
"Yeah- at 18 I had as good as convinced myself that I would not see myself grow to become 19- probably be killed by Levana before that-"
"Who knows maybe she would have loved you and vice versa," She joked, having come to terms with the horrors of her past by now.
"Yeah, weren't you just jealous of my wife, Cinder?- killing her like that."
"Oh! No Kai, I fought for you and came out as the winner," she jabbered with a wink.
"Quite a prize I'm, now aren't I?" he boasted, winking in response.
"Stop sounding like Thorne- besides, stop using sarcasm to just avoid talking about your feelings," she said, clearly forgetting what had started the mild flirting.
"Like you don't," he muttered under his breath.
Taking quite his chances trying to figure out if she had forgotten or not-
"Kai, continue," she ordered.
"There's nothing serious- just got me riled over a silly thought, that's all!" he said, avoiding to speak.
"Talk," she ordered before he could make any excuse.
Sighing he said, "Back when I was 9, I had always thought that I would have a wife that loved me like Mum loved Dad, but I was too simple back then. Later I quite got the hang that I would be the Emperor and... you know right, how marriages are looked upon as alliances in royalty?- so, maybe I thought- I would not know what love is, like what it really means. Levana just happened to come around the time when I had wholly convinced myself that I would never marry out of love- just some woman who was the daughter of some important person to strengthen bonds or something like that. And at the same time you decided to pop in my life- well I popped in yours but after a few days I had certainly started liking you, sort of even had a crush on you while you were on the run but things happened and well you know what happens later.. " he trailed.
"You did marry someone important Kai, remember I am the ex-Queen of Luna?" she said, turning around to look at him.
"How can I forget? have got quite a knack for Queens," he said, a grin breaking on his face however it did not reach up to his eyes.
"Yeah- even then you love me and I do love you! Although you had to marry someone before- you supposed to make the right choices later, you found love with me, I was quite a big show myself- a simple mechanic and then I come out as the long lost princess of Luna. I am happy- elated for where I am right now-minus the sick part but I think I can endure it," she admitted.
"I see, my happy outlook has quite rubbed on you - I don't want to change anything even if I could- I'm so fortunate to be here with you," he exclaimed, caressing the back of her hand with his thumbs.
"You know if someone had told me when I was 15 that someone would love me when I grow older, I would have called them a fool and probably shut my door on their face. If they had told me that I would be married to a kind man at 23, found true love at 16- I would have yelled at them to make young girls fantasize about something like marriage when there were important things in life. If they had told me that I would marry a man who loved me, much less an Emperor- I would have been shocked for the love of my life. No pun intended so don't point it out or grin- " he did grin even when she asked him not to "-Can't believe I'm really married to you even at the age of 25- like you are believable but the whole Emperor of EC is a too big thing for me who felt unlovable till 16- like hell with the world but I had thought I would probably be those single cat ladies just without the cats- I think they are nasty. Yet here I am!" She rambled, declaring the last part with a blinding smile.
"Quite unbelievable, ain't it?
"Yup- wouldn't change a thing though!"
"If I asked you-
"to marry you again then I would say yes without a moment to lose," she continued.
She did not know who rushed in first but his lips were on her and he whispered 'Good' against her lips, kissing them fervently. Before thinking she moved, making Kai groan at the loss of sudden contact, taking as many tissues that could fit in her hands from the tabletop, she blew her nose, feeling sickening.
Kai looking at his wife firstly in a bizarre way followed by a sympathetic smile, "Maybe we should keep kissing to the minimum."
"Yeah- I look gross," she agreed.
"Do you want to take some steam?"
"No- I'm okay," she answered, continuing to blow her nose which considerably contradicted her sentence.
"Tell me if you change your mind."
"Can you pass me more tissue?"
Having cleared her nose long enough to go without a blowing nose fit for at least a few minutes she whined, "My nose hurts- is it pink?"
"Really Cinder?- are you caring about your slightly pink nose right now instead of your health? I think it looks cute tho-"
"You had called me cute even when I was drenched in mud. Sorry for blowing up like that!"
He chuckled adding, "Quite got me confused for a minute there"
"I can't believe I'm sick on our anniversary-"
"Hey! I was sick on my birthday, don't beat yourself on that."
"C'mon aren't you even a tiny bit sad Kai- you make it sound like you are happy seeing me sick in bed!" she complained.
"I had be happy with you in bed, don't you think?" he said with a smirk tugging at his lips.
"I don't wanna sneeze and blow my nose on you so, NO!-" she replied. "-I don't think I have the energy to do anything."
"You had your meds?" he inquired.
"Yes," she said avoiding his gaze.
"And when did you take them?"
"Well- one is remaining- it's really bitter, can't I just skip it? Please!" she pleaded.
Paying no heed to her words, he just leapt out of the bed to fetch the said tablet- returning with the red and white capsule that was going to cause Cinder much misery.
"Here," he said, offering the glass of water.
"Please, Kai, it's so bitter and I don't want to spoil the taste of the soup-"
"Cinder, I'm not going to budge- you are having it. Personally, it's not that bad, you drilled Camilla into being nice for a day last week- you can handle a bitter tablet."
She stared at him not moving to pick the capsule from his hand, he stared back. It was a healthy competition, the one who blinks first will lose-
"Achoo- chu-" she sneezed rather unexpectedly making Kai victorious.
"I hate you," she mumbled glaring at him as she took the med- sticking her tongue out to him as the harsh taste of medicine could be felt down her throat.
"Love you too, Cinder."
"I was not even half as troublesome as you are right now when you were down with that stomach bug 6 months ago- I even allowed you to read those documents in bed and this is how you repay me for my kindness?"
"I repay in kindness- Come here, you can have the cuddles as your reward."
This time she kept some tissues nearby just in case and as revenge kept her very cold hand on Kai's bare torso. It did not look like it bothered him- he just snuggled closer to her, making sure that her hand was as much on her as on him.
"I can't believe it's already been two years since we married!" she blurted out.
"True."
"Quite hard to digest even after 2 years of marriage!- Sometimes my heart can't handle the sight of you in the morning- so peaceful and lovely," he declared.
"And you look so good at night when you scrunch your nose yawning- you look so adorable with those puppy eyes you make!" she added.
"Remember that time when Torin had almost found us hiding in the library trying to skip the staff maintenance meeting?" he asked.
"It was not much hiding, Kai- like he could have tracked us within seconds if he wanted to... I think he was hiding as well," she replied, remembering how Torin had spent so long trying to find them in the library even when they were loud enough to be found by anyone.
"Yeah, and when he did that toast for you after you had check-mated Camilla at her own games, I can't forget how proud he looked of you."
"Well, you had helped and I did not do much if you would not have been there to-"
""Oh, don't flatter me! It was you who stole the whole show that day. Vargas was so happy someone had skived Camilla after all these years," He chuckled and continued to add, "Stars, the toast that Thorne made-"
"No, Kai! I don't wanna remember it- I'm so happy he would not be teasing me tomorrow, I'm gonna use the 'sick' card if he embarrasses me like that again."
"He was so funny-"
"That humour traumatized me for life!"
"Well, he outdid himself that one time."
Recalling her friend's more than bizarre speech at their wedding she smiled fondly, her gaze falling on the large clock in their bedroom.
"Kai it's almost 12," she pointed out.
"Oh! yeah- quite late, uhm- er-early?" he sputtered.
"It's our anniversary!" she exclaimed with joy.
"Do you think we can make a toast? like is it okay for you to have wine?" he questioned for her approval and well-being.
"I don't think a glass of wine will worsen my flu, so why not?"
"Okay, I will fetch it before it the clock strikes 12," he said, already moving out to get the bottle of red wine they had stashed somewhere in the adjacent kitchen they had made in their chambers since they had been engaged. Cinder did not really like going to the Palace's kitchen every time she had a strong craving for some midnight snacks. Besides it was too far from their and Cinder was not really very happy about that- she liked cooking, scratch that- she liked seeing Kai cook and eat the delicacies he made.
Kai walked few minutes before it was midnight, trying to balance the two glasses and the bottle.
"Here let me help," she said, taking the bottle from his hand, uncorking it while he held the glasses for her to pour into. Having poured both their glasses to an acceptable amount, they turned to the clock waiting in anticipation for the final hour of the day to end.
"Wanna say something?"
7.6.
"Not yet!"
4.3
And as the digits changed to zeroes, they looked at each other and said, "Here's to the two years of marriage and togetherness-"
"- and many more that will come!"
"To my charming husband,"
"To my loving wife,"
The clink of the glass was unheard over their words.
"To us!"
__
A/N: I think you deserve fluff after the torture that I gave you! Here's nice married Kaider fluff for you guys.
The person named 'Suho' is none other than Torin's husband and I like to imagine Kai cooking and doing all sort of domestic stuff, even when he is the Emperor. This fic had wholesome amount of fluff, and sickness in it. I have really written so many shots this week- have been quite productive this month thanks to Ship Week.

Being a hero meant a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Some loved the fame, the recognition, the money that sometimes came with, while some just wanted to be helpful and loved for their work. But one quality heroes had in common was that they were able to calm their nerves in the most crucial moments.
For Marcus Moreno, that crucial moment was now, and he could barely contain his nerves.
Clint could feel the anxiety radiating off the man. Marcus tried to play it cool because he had everything that made him seem cool: the swords, the tactical gear, his stoic face, but it wasn't enough to mask emotions from a world-class spy. Though Clint was able to sense it, he wasn't sure what exactly to say. He had only heard about Marcus through you, he only knew what little you told him, and that was how he determined Marcus wasn't some alien but the man you've been waiting for.
It was an awkward silence. One filled with the quiet roaring of the engines and every now and again, the sound of alerts from the computers around them. Clint kept his eyes on the sky while Marcus took peaks at the landscape below. The world looked so much like his own... just not as technically advanced as his own. The clouds swallowed the sip and his eyes drifted forward again as he took in a deep breath and exhaled.
"Nervous?" Clint managed to crack Marcus a smile and glanced at the man sitting to his right. Marcus chuckled, nodding his head with a nonchalance.
"You could say that."
"There's no reason for you to be."
"There's always a chance for something to go wrong."
Clint shrugged and flipped some switches as the quinjet began to descend.
"Are we there already?"
"Almost. About 5 minutes out."
Another uneasy silence fell over them but Clint wasn't contributing to it. Marcus just wanted everything to be like it was before. You, Missy, and himself in a home that felt like home. He couldn't have asked for a better partner in life and work, and it was taken away from him just like your life was taken away from you, but he wasn't going to say his life was better without you because it wasn't. Marcus just feared that maybe this life here was better than the one you had built with him. No one's reassurance except your own could tell him otherwise.
"Can I ask you a question?" Marcus glanced at Clint before returning to look forward again, a little embarrassed to be talking about you with someone he didn't know. But he knew you loved Clint like a brother, just as Natasha had been a sister, so he understood there was a level of trust there. Clint mumbled a 'go ahead' but his attention wasn't entirely on Marcus.
"Is she happy here?"
'Loaded question, but alright Mr. other world.' Clint thought before answering with the only truthful answer that could be given. He has watched the progression of a quiet depression become one of reclusiveness and a bitter happiness. You weren't happy here, in this world, with him or any of the Avengers. Natasha was gone, Steve was gone, Wanda was MIA, Bucky and Sam were on their own adventures. No one was here except him and that wasn't nearly enough to support someone who lost everything and then some because of a greedy man with glowing stones. This wasn't your home anymore.
"Was. She was at one time. I don't think this is where her heart is anymore."
Clint gave him a flat smile but Marcus did not return it. The thought alone of you avoiding social contact because happiness was ripped away from you in every direction was heart-wrenching. He never wanted to bring you any pain and a part of him couldn't help but believe that if he tried harder, if he hadn't wasted time being upset with your arrival years ago, things may have been different.
"We're here."
The announcement sent shockwaves through him. A thunderbolt of pure, unexplainable fear and anticipation of seeing you again struck his core. This was it; this was his endgame and the farm that slowly made itself clear out the window was the destination.
"Let me go in and see them first, make sure they're home, and then I'll come back. Is that alright?"
Marcus could only nod and watch the man grab his bags and bow and leave the jet. Marcus unbuckled himself because there was no point in staying in the seat. The back was left open and while Clint had told him to stay, he couldn't help but walk down the ramp and stand just to the side of the jet. He ran his hand over the side of the matte gray finish, slightly impressed by the time it took to get there. It was faster than he thought even if it felt like an eternity.
The house was a nice weathered white. It had seen better days and as Clint approached the door, he noted all the fixes needed. The rusted door handle, the broken pot in the corner, an abundance of yard toys and broken bicycle parts laid around him. He managed to open the door with limited squeaking, but Laura heard it and so did Lila. The boys weren't home because if they were, they would have tackled him to the ground the moment they heard the ship land in the yard.
"Clint!? What are you doing here? I thought you weren't supposed to be back for two weeks." Laura said as soon as she came around the corner from the kitchen. Lila was right behind her with a smile and hug for him–which he gladly accepted.
"Emergency. Where is Y/n? I have something I think she'd want to see."
Laura furrowed her eyebrows and moved to the window. Outside, beside the jet, stood a man who could have been a new Avenger for all she knew. She turned back to Clint, moving away from the window so Lila could sneak a glance too.
"What is it? Who is that man out there?"
"That man is Marcus. That Marcus. He just appeared at the compound looking for her. They apparently have been trying to find a way to bring her back and whatever he did, it worked."
Laura let out an audible gasp, returning to the window and looking at the man. Slowly, just as Clint had hours before, she began to piece together the man before her eyes from the stories you had told her about.
"Oh my God! OH MY GOD!" She almost yelled so loudly the neighbors two blocks away could hear her. Clint shushed her but she couldn't keep the smile off her face. Laura ran to the staircase and yelled up it.
"Y/n! Get down here!"
"Oh my God, Clint! She had a great day today and wow-I just can't believe it."
You had heard Laura's loud enthusiasm from the room you had been staying in. You thought you'd leave her be until her voice trailed up the stairs again and she called out to you. It wasn't like you had any idea of what was going on. You heard the quinjet, figured Clint was back, and it was around dinner time so maybe it was time to eat? It was the first time in a long time that your thoughts hadn't been cluttered with death or sadness, but those feelings lingered. You exited the room, walked down the stairs and smiling at Clint when you saw his face.
"How's the girl?" Kate Bishop.
"She's a real hero." Clint replied and you nodded your head in reply. Doing so, you managed to turn toward the window from your place on the second to last step. Outside sat the quinjet that had taken so many of you and your friends on missions that could have well been your last. But it wasn't the vehicle that caught your undivided attention, but the body beside it. Standing tall in black.
Your eyes had to have been deceiving you.
"What is going on?" Your voice was barely a whisper, but Laura caught it, smiling and grabbing your hand. Your attention never left the window. The man was pacing slightly, a nervous tick you were sure you knew.
"Laura-"
"Go and see for yourself, Y/n." Her voice was quiet too but reassuring and warm, like a mothers should be. The man outside didn't know what was going on, but he left your sight because you descended the rest of the steps and ran out the door.
The door squeaked loudly this time and with a bang, fell shut. You barely made it to the steps before you stopped on the gravel. about 20 yards away, the man heard the door and turned.
Even if the entire world was watching the scene unfold on Clint's lawn, many could not recall who moved first. Laura would say Marcus because that's who she could see, but you were slightly convinced it was your own feet. Nevertheless, after the door had slammed and the two of you met again, the universe drew you together like magnets. You ran, he ran, and with the collision, you both wrapped your arms around each other and soon your feet were off the ground.
You could barely say a word with your blubbering tears, and he wasn't about to make his obvious either so instead of talking, he just pulled away enough to look you in the face. Your eyes the same, your nose the same, your lips still perfect to him. Your hands moved from around his neck to his face. You gently held his face in your hands as you tried to control yourself.
"You're really here?" It was a broken ask but he managed a smile and moved a piece of hair out of your face.
"Yeah, I'm here."
"I missed you s-so much." Marcus couldn't help but grin at the admission. It was everything and more than he wanted to hear.
"I love you. I love you so damn much." His hand rested on the back of your neck and he pulled you to him. His lips were just as you remembered.
Perfectly him and as if they were made for your own.
Tumblr media
Reunions were sentimental and good. But they were followed with a series of questions that were often difficult to hear. Marcus had held you for a long time. You weren't sure how long and you weren't exactly complaining either, but there was a linger question: how did he get here and how in the world are you getting back?
You had been adamant in telling him 'yes' the moment Marcus asked you the question about returning to his world. That was the plan for you. There were no other options because life with Marcus and Missy was your life now and whoever was left that loved you like family had to accept that. Marcus had explained the machine built to travel through worlds over dinner with Clint because perhaps he could be the one to help. He had travelled through time before so what is traveling through universes, right?
But later that night, when the reunion had settled and everyone had gone to bed, Marcus sat on the edge of an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room with a woman he loves. Clint could help you, but he needed time. So, he left with the jet while you stayed with the family and Marcus. He went to go see Stephen Strange because he managed to pick up the phone late that night.
"Do you think they'll be able to get us back? I don't want to leave Missy there all alone." Marcus voiced his worry with a sad reflection. You sat up from your reclined position and waddled over to him, running your hands up his back and then around his shoulders before he gently took them and tugged them around him. He missed your touch so much.
"You've never seen Dr. Stephen Strange do his 'magic' so I think there's a chance."
"Are you sure this is what you want?" He turned his head just enough so he could look at your face. You may have been a spy, but your eyes never lied to him. He knew you better than any interrogator could ever wish to have known you.
"Yes, I want to be with you and Missy and all those heroes with weird names." You laughed for the first time in a long time and it was music to his ears. He smiled to where his eyes crinkled in the corners as your fingers played with the nape of his neck where his loose hair sat.
"I just want you to be happy, Y/n. Your happiness means everything to me."
"I am happy with you. I am happy in our home. This makes me happy."
That was enough for him. The next day you both waited... and waited... and waited for even one word from Clint, but nothing came. Sometime in the afternoon, the heavy engine of the quinjet could be heard in the yard so you dropped the puzzle pieces on the table beside Lila, grabbed Marcus' hand and ran out the door. Clint had a small smile on his face, but it was the sharply dressed Doctor that you focused your attention on.
"Doctor."
"Agent."
"I trust there is a way home if you're here. You wouldn't come all this way to bare bad news."
"Your skills on reading people alarm me, though I would expect nothing less from an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Stephen nodded and then extended his hand to Marcus who shook it in return. They introduced themselves to one another and Stephen put a gold bar on his fingers before extending his hand to the wide landscape of the farm.
"What are you doing?" You asked with a furrowed brow. This wasn't the way Marcus had come, they were supposed to fix the control pad he had on his arm.
"Do you really think the Sorcerer Supreme can't open portals to other universes? There are so many worlds you don't know, but you found the one you were meant to be in, so let me get you both home."
With a circular movement of his fingers, Stephen opened a yellow portal that slowly became an image of a world you had known before. A house, perfectly structured in the suburbs was on the other side. The grass perfectly mowed and the bushes trimmed, the mail box accidentally left open which you knew was Missy's fault. The curtains were open and the sun shone brightly into the home. Marcus grabbed you hand, squeezing it tightly as you took in the sight. Months had gone by where you dreamed of this moment, of that house and all its residents. Your dream was here now with the man holding your hand to support you.
"Y/n." Clint called out to you, breaking your stare. You turned around and he approached with his family in tow. He held out a small envelope which contained a note from them and a series of pictures that you would later cry over, but it was a final goodbye from your life here on this Earth.
You hugged them all with tears in your eyes but when Marcus re-took your hand, it felt like it meant something more than just running off into the sunset together. It felt normal and needed and necessary to move forward in your life.
"Are you ready?" Marcus asked you to which you could only reply with one word:
"Yes."

’tis the damn season
an Auston Matthews song fic
a/n: based on the absolute masterpiece that is ’tis the damn season by Taylor Swift from evermore. This one was not on my WIP list but came over me as soon as I heard the song when the album dropped. also have no idea how it became my longest piece yet, by far (as in 12k+ whoops). obviously, I do not own any of the music/lyrics to this song nor any other I write about.
summary: Auston Matthews and his ex-girlfriend are reunited in their hometown years after their difficult breakup.
warnings: swearing, alcohol, allusions to sex, a delicate balance of angst and fluff. a bit of a slow burn, if you want to call it that.
_____
You might have been one of the few people on the planet who disagreed with the phrase, “There’s no place like home for the holidays.” At least, for the last few years, that hadn’t exactly been your sentiment.
But, you were home anyway, after a few weeks of your mother’s guilt tripping and your father’s repeated phone calls. And, admittedly, you were enjoying your quiet time at home with your parents.
After helping your mom bake a few dozen cookies for the Christmas Eve party they were throwing tomorrow night, you wandered upstairs to your childhood bedroom to change out of your flour-covered attire and maybe squeeze in a nap. An undeniable perk of staying with your parents during the holidays — so many opportunities to sleep. As you pulled on a well-worn, long-sleeved ASU t-shirt you found hanging in your closet, your phone rang.
You groaned and swore to yourself that if it was your editor again, you were quitting. She’d already interrupted your time off at least once throughout each of your three days at home thus far — your first week of vacation in the two and a half years you’d been with the fashion magazine. You rolled your eyes and reached for the sounding device on your bed, then recoiled when you saw the contact name — or rather, initials — on the screen.
AM
Oh, god.
Even worse, the years-old contact photo popped up behind the name — a picture of the two of you lying together on the shore on your vacation four years ago, right after the draft, when you both still held onto the naive belief that nothing that had just happened in his world would change things between the two of you.
“Shit,” you whispered, covering your mouth while anxiety coursed through your veins.
You couldn’t just not answer. Right? The two of you were on decent terms, though you couldn’t quite remember the last time you’d spoken — probably seven, eight months ago. You had no good reason to ignore his call.
And after all... you were the one who had ended things.
You cleared your throat and, trying to coach yourself into mustering up some semblance of courage, quickly repeated, “Okay, okay, okay, okay.” Then, like ripping off a bandaid, you hurriedly tapped the green button and pressed the phone to your ear.
“Matthews,” you greeted curtly — tentatively.
“Kels. Come over,” Auston said abruptly, though you could hear the smile in his voice. “I know you’re home.”
You squinted and glanced around your room, racking your brain as you tried to figure out how exactly your ex-boyfriend knew your current whereabouts.
“What?” you asked, puzzled, not to mention slightly shocked that he was even interested in seeing you in person — though some part of you was, indeed, grateful for that. “How did you even know I was in Scottsdale?”
“Uh, your Instagram story, my dear,” he said, obviously amused. “You posted this morning from that new coffee shop between the Methodist church and our old school building. Remember?”
You rubbed a hand over your face, suddenly regretting adding him to your close friends list on Instagram six weeks ago after a few glasses of wine with your girlfriends.
“Fuck,” you muttered under your breath, eliciting a chuckle from Auston.
“Yeah, don’t flatter yourself thinking I sit around and stalk you, sweetheart,” he teased. “I thought about replying but I didn’t wanna slide into your DMs and look like a fuckboy.” He paused, and you opened your mouth to make a halfhearted wisecrack that you didn’t truly mean, but before you could speak, he added, “Plus you probably get so many DMs, I’m sure mine would just get lost in the shuffle.”
Again, you rolled your eyes. “Matthews,” you repeated, whinier now.
“C’mon, Kels. Just come over,” he whined back. “I just got in last night. I’m staying at my parents’ house. My sisters nearly busted down my door when they saw you were back in town, plus I know my mom and dad would love to see you.”
Suddenly, two decades’ worth of memories that you had long ago pushed to the back of your mind flooded all at once to the forefront of your consciousness. Sleepovers watching Disney Channel movies and eating peach rings with Alex and Brey. Brian scooping you up in his arms after a nasty tumble off your bike on their street, propping you on the kitchen counter as he bandaged the scrapes on your knees, Auston never leaving your side nor letting go of your hand. Road trips with Ema to watch Auston play in countless tournaments, with you doing homework in the front seat while Ema sang along to the radio. Matthews family dinners eating Ema’s famous chicken tortilla soup. Vacations and carpool and pickup basketball games and shopping for prom dresses and just the mundane, everyday routine you had been part of for so many years.
And those were just the memories that involved his sisters, his parents. You didn’t dare let your mind uncover the buried memories of him, and him alone.
You missed them. Sometimes you missed them all so much that it made your heart physically ache and your stomach drop and your mouth go dry.
So, you drew a long, deep breath, and against your better judgment, eventually said, “Okay. Fine. But you have to send me your parents’ address. I haven’t been to the new Matthews McMansion.”
Auston huffed on the other end. “So mean to me.”
_____
It was certainly a far cry from the modest old ranch-style house where Auston had spent his childhood.
As you pulled up to the sprawling estate in the bougie part of town and cut your engine, you whispered, “What the fuck am I doing here...”
And still, after a quick check of your makeup in your rearview mirror, you got out of the car, closed your door and pushed your sunglasses to the top of your head, sighing as you took in the four vehicles parked in front of yours in the roundabout driveway, none of which you had ever seen before. Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche. Well, you could guess which one was Auston’s.
You walked up the stone sidewalk and slipped your aviators into your purse — it was only then that you noticed that your hands were trembling.
You cleared your throat and exhaled sharply, willing your nerves to subside, as you arrived at the door and pressed the button on its frame, sounding an elaborate chime inside.
“I got it,” you immediately heard a familiar voice call, and you took a startled step backward as you saw his figure approaching through the decorative glass panes outlining the doorway. As he pulled open the door, the flutter you’d tried your hardest to avoid feeling for three years took flight once more in your belly.
“Matthews,” you greeted again, arms crossed in front of you in hopes of hiding your shaking hands.
“Why’d ya bother to ring the doorbell, you nutjob?” Auston asked with a broad smile.
Before you could throw a snide remark back at him, he pulled you into himself, one arm snaking around your mid-back and the other hand cradling your head to his chest. Inadvertently, you exhaled contentedly, and you swore you felt Auston tighten his grip on you then. Your eyes fluttered closed, and you let yourself relax into him for longer than you had intended. He just felt so… familiar. Broad. Strong. Comforting.
He was just… Auston. A thousand things had changed for the two of you, but the way you felt in his presence hadn’t changed since you were a little girl.
You inhaled his cologne, and you noticed that he was doing just the same — breathing in your long-worn Chanel No. 5 perfume, the same kind he used to save up all year to buy you each Christmas.
At that memory, you snapped back to reality and extricated yourself from his embrace, leaving him looking slightly disappointed, though still pleased with your greeting.
“Hi,” you spoke simply as you stared up at him, then chuckled at how stupid that sounded.
“Hi,” he mimicked, head bobbling and eyes widening, causing you both to fall into a giddy fit of nervous laughter over nothing at all.
Just then, you saw Ema’s head pop out from beneath an arched opening toward the back of the house — probably leading to the kitchen, you assumed. Ema was always in the kitchen.
“I thought I heard your laugh,” she sang. You couldn’t help but beam, and Auston smiled and moved out of your way so that you had a direct pathway to his mother. Taking advantage of that, you made a beeline for the petite woman you considered your second mom, already feeling emotion bubbling up in your throat as tears blurred your vision.
“Oh, mija,” Ema said, her voice tight as she met you in the middle of the grand entryway and gathered you into her arms. “Te extrañamos,” (we miss you) she said sincerely.
Auston cupped the back of his neck and quickly looked away then, fearful that he may just shed tears of his own.
You sniffled and murmured, “Los extrañé a todos mucho,” (I missed you all so much) into Ema’s shoulder as she smoothed her hand lovingly over the back of your head.
When you finally parted, moving past the brief sadness of the reunion, Ema still held tightly to your hands, extending her arms so that she could see you better.
“You look more beautiful than ever!” she exclaimed, and you dropped your head bashfully at her compliment. “California is treating you well.”
You nodded. “For the most part,” you remarked with a sigh. Ema glanced quickly from your face to her son’s and back again, deciding not to dwell for too long on that loaded response.
“Well,” she pivoted with a click of her tongue. “You look great. Now come, come! I know Auston’s going to want to steal you away from me, not that I blame him, but I just put on some tea, so let’s sit and have some first.”
“Ma…” Auston protested lightheartedly. Ema wagged her finger at him. “Shh! Mijo! My long lost daughter has returned. Give me ten minutes for a cup of tea with her.”
Auston’s lips parted at her use of the word “daughter,” not that he should have been surprised by it, and you tossed him an animated shrug as Ema pulled you down the hallway back from whence she came. You were right — it was the kitchen, and it was a spectacular one at that.
“Holy…” you trailed off as Ema patted one of the leather barstools at the enormous island in the center of the room. You took a seat, pulling your cross body bag from your shoulder and placing it on the island, and commented, “This kitchen is incredible, Ema. I’m sure you love spending time here.”
Ema nodded and excitedly launched into stories of using all the appliances and gadgets she had never owned before, walking back to the teakettle on the stove as Auston sat down on the nearest barstool, feeling as though he could simply be dreaming, hallucinating, that you were here, sitting with him in his parents’ kitchen. But when you noticed him taking the seat next to yours, you tossed him a classic Kelsey smile and nudged his shoulder with your own, and he felt just slightly more confident that this was reality. Unable to resist your magnetism, which hadn’t faded with time but seemed instead to have only grown stronger, he squeezed your knee beneath the countertop, just as Ema approached with a cup of tea in hand for you.
Choosing to react instead to Ema rather than her son, you grinned and thanked her, feeling Auston’s eyes on you as you lifted the mug to your lips and took small sips, Ema still prattling on happily from the other side of the kitchen. You eventually cast a sidelong glance Auston’s way, accompanied by an amused smirk, the combination of which left him beaming as he looked away from you and back toward his mother, who now approached with two more cups of tea.
“Thanks, Ma,” he said as he wrapped his hands around the mug she offered him.
“You’re welcome, mijo,” Ema replied. “Now Kelsey, honey, how long are you in town?”
“Uh, just until the day after Christmas,” you replied, swirling a finger along the ceramic rim of your mug. “This is the most time I’ve taken off since I started at the magazine,” you admitted with a hint of embarrassment.
Ema nodded. “Your mother said you haven’t made it home for a while. I know they keep you pretty busy there. Is that why you don’t visit so much?” she asked unassumingly.
Auston dropped his head and shuffled his feet awkwardly against the tile floor, and your eyes flickered to him as you racked your brain for an answer that wasn’t a complete lie but also didn’t unmask the whole truth — which was that being in a town that held so much history with your ex was simply too suffocating to bear, even for a quick visit with your parents. So, you typically just stayed in California where you could throw yourself into your work as a fashion writer at a well-known publication and operate under the illusion that you had moved on. From Scottsdale, from Auston, from your life before Los Angeles.
And especially from Toronto.
But the problem was, when the night fell and the lights all faded and you were left to face the truth, you knew in your heart that that’s really all it was — an illusion.
And from 2,500 miles away, Auston knew it, too. He knew it because he was living the same lie.
“Uh, yeah,” you replied sheepishly. “That’s the gist of it. Just, uh, just hard to get away sometimes. My parents usually come out to visit me instead since their schedules are, uh, a little more flexible.”
“Right,” Ema said skeptically as you took a long pull from your mug, despite the hot liquid singing your tongue and making your eyes water. “Well, either way, it’s so good to finally see you here,” she added warmly.
“It’s good to see you too,” you breathed, honesty dripping from that answer.
Auston finally looked at you again, giving you an understanding smile. Even that smallest of gestures made you dizzy.
“So,” you said as you moved away from the topic, sitting up a bit straighter. “Where are the girls? Where’s Brian?”
“Golfing,” Auston answered. “Like always,” he added with a chuckle.
“Why am I not surprised?” you teased, making both Ema and Auston laugh.
“They begged Auston to come with them, but he turned them down,” Ema informed you. “And now we know why.” She lifted her eyebrows and took another sip of her tea as Auston shook his head.
“Dunno what you’re talking about,” he joked. “But no, they’ll be back soon. They can’t wait to see you.”
You brightened at that, not having seen the Matthews girls in nearly as long as it had been since you’d seen Auston himself, finding it easier to breathe when they weren’t nearby, reminding you of him with their every mannerism. And yet, you’d found that starving yourself of their friendship and their company ached nearly just as much.
“I can’t wait either,” you said through a distant smile.
“And Dad will probably cry more than Mom did when he sees you,” Auston predicted, lifting his mug. Ema swatted at his arm.
“Don’t start with me!” she warned. “I happened to see you choking up out there, too.”
You turned to Auston and raised an accusing brow at him. He simply chuckled into his tea and looked away, and the three of you sat in silence for a beat.
“Come on,” he finally said as he rested his mug on the island, nodding his head in the direction of the sliding glass door at the back of the house. “Lemme show you the patio.”
You nodded, knowing full well that showing off the backyard was not the real reason he was inviting you outside. Despite that knowledge, you hopped off the barstool, put your mug in the sink, and kissed Ema on the cheek as you passed her.
“Thanks for the tea, mamacita,” you said with a smile, squeezing her shoulders. “Anytime, mi amor,” she replied, sending a wink your way as you turned to follow Auston.
He slid open the door and motioned for you to step through it first. When he saw his mother watching you through the kitchen window, he gave her a knowing smirk, and she put her hands up in innocence. But as she watched you two walk out onto the patio through the glass, she breathed a silent prayer to any higher power who would listen that maybe, just maybe, you would finally come home.
Not to Scottsdale, no. Home to Auston.
Meanwhile, you were trailing your hand along the hammock near the pool, taking in the scene and trying to remember to breathe. When you heard him close the door, you turned back to Auston, your eyes floating around the backyard.
“Nice setup they’ve got back here,” you grinned, Auston chuckling with his hands shoved into the pockets of his shorts.
“Yeah, it’s even nicer in the summer,” he commented. You nodded, stepping closer to the pool and lowering yourself to sit on the edge, patting the space next to you as an invitation for Auston to do the same.
“We have chairs, ya know,” he grumbled as he took a seat. “Not all of us like to sit on the floor all day doing yoga.”
You sneered at him. “Oh, yeah, that’s what I do all day long,” you said sarcastically.
“Well, you used to, anyway,” he mumbled.
You gulped as visions of him watching you do precarious yoga poses on the living room floor of his apartment flickered in your mind’s eye, and then, once again, you moved right along.
“So… how’s it going, Matthews? How’s life?” you prompted, not even sure if you truly wanted to hear the answer to your inquiry.
He stretched out his long legs so that his feet were dangling above the water as he wondered where to even begin.
“It’s… it’s good,” he said. “Overall. It’s nice to be home for a few days. Needed that. I missed it. Missed my family. Missed…” he stopped himself, “…other things,” he added under his breath.
You chewed the inside of your cheek and decided to avoid the path he was taking this down. “How’s hockey?” you asked instead.
Auston shifted noticeably at the mention of his career, still painfully aware that, despite the successes it had brought him, it had ultimately caused the demise of your relationship.
“Hockey is… hockey,” he said. “Honestly it’s good on the whole. But the team’s not having the greatest year so far, which is rough.” You nodded, knowing better than most that the Toronto media operated at a different level of intensity and scrutiny than that of nearly all other markets, especially when the Leafs were losing, and especially when new blood was added into the equation, like Auston’s had been when they drafted him.
Like yours had been when you moved there with him.
The spotlight they shone on you — and the subsequent attention you received from so-called fans who took to the internet to question your intentions and integrity — had been far more than you bargained for.
Just as you were about to ask about how the guys on the team were faring, Auston spoke again.
“I think about calling you every time we come to LA, Kels,” he said, fixing his eyes on the neighbor’s house in the distance because he was simply unable to look at you while he admitted it. With a sniff, he added, “I’m not gonna lie about that.”
“Why don’t you?” you asked after a beat, maybe unfairly, studying his familiar profile. His features were the same, of course, but he looked… more mature. Older. Wiser. All that jazz. Auston shrugged, still not capable of looking at you.
“Just didn’t think you’d want me to,” he answered dejectedly. Your heart sank into your stomach. Given the things you’d said when you left him nearly three years ago, you could hardly blame him for that one.
“Well,” you started with a sigh. “I guess we could call it even then, because I think about coming to see you play every time you come to LA. Or Anaheim. Or even Vegas. And obviously Phoenix.”
“Well why didn’t you just call me asking for free tickets then,” he said in a tone that he tried to disguise as facetious, but you heard the hurt seeping into his words. “Everybody else I know in any NHL city does.”
You felt a fierce sense of protectiveness then, clenching your jaw as you tried to calm your irate thoughts. You watched him pick at the sleeve of his black Raiders crewneck and felt deeply for him — this man you’d loved since he was a little boy.
“Do they really? Still?” you asked in monotone.
Auston nodded, squinting in the sunlight. “Yup,” he answered, popping the ‘p.’ “Every game.”
“Jesus Christ,” you muttered, covering your eyes with your hand and pushing into your temples. You blew out a long breath. “Fuck. I’m really sorry about that. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but I… it just sucks.”
Auston shrugged. “It’s not your fault,” he stated. “Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don’t. Kinda depends on whether the person’s actually talked to me lately.”
You nodded as he chuckled sadly, and you felt your chest tighten. “Well,” you began, clearing your throat. “I guess I wouldn’t qualify then because we haven’t talked much.”
Auston looked at you with intensity surging in his deep brown eyes, and you wanted to look away but found that you couldn’t.
“You always qualify,” he said seriously. “You’re one of the only people that qualifies.”
You bit down, hard, on your bottom lip and grappled internally with the weight of his comment. Then he said sarcastically, “Besides, I know you’re only after my money. I mean, you forced me to buy you that Louis bag the week after I got drafted.”
Your jaw dropped at his joke, and you scoffed indignantly. “Oh, yeah, the one you finally had to hide in my closet after I kept sneaking it back into your car because I wanted you to return it?” you corrected. “Yeah, ya caught me. You know me, Aus. Such a gold digger.”
Auston had started laughing halfway through your quip, but stopped suddenly. You gave him a questioning look, and he paused before answering.
“You called me Aus,” he stated with a smile he tried and failed to hide. “You went back to calling me Matthews after we broke up. But you… you just called me Aus again.”
“Yeah, well...” you grumbled, “Don’t get too excited.” You tossed him a smirk and he mirrored it, basking in the comfort of the moment.
“So whaddya think of the place? Not bad, right?” he finally asked, glancing around the property, back at the house, then settling his focus back on you.
You shrugged. “A little gaudy for my taste, but...” you began, and Auston shook his head bemusedly, knowing he set himself up for that one.
“No, it’s great. I can see how much your mom loves it. In all seriousness, I think it’s amazing, everything you’ve done for your family. Your parents. It’s pretty incredible,” you said earnestly. “I don’t think I said it enough when we were together, but, I’m really proud of you, Aus. And I don’t just mean about the hockey.”
Auston nodded soberly, turning his head to look you in the eye.
“I know you don’t,” he said quietly. “Thanks, Kels. It means a lot coming from you. More, uh… more than you know.”
And then, before you could think twice about doing so, you reached out your hand to rest atop his, feeling its familiar warmth as your fingertips grazed the raised veins there. Auston swallowed hard, blinking at where your hands now met, and slowly wrapped your fingers in his, giving them a squeeze. You exchanged long stares before you eventually slammed on the brakes in your brain and carried on.
“So, you just casually hang out with Justin Bieber now?” you asked, reaching your palms behind you and leaning back. “And the wildest shit is that I saw it first when he posted it, not you.”
Auston chuckled, looking down at his slides and — ironically — Drew socks combo. In his signature way, he halted his laughter on a dime and his face turned somber as he said dryly, “Yeah, I’m like really famous now, yanno?”
You sighed in annoyance, rolling your eyes as you looked skyward, feeling Auston’s gaze turn to you. You let it go for a few moments before shifting only your eyes toward his.
“What?” you asked accusingly. You could tell by the faraway smirk on his face that he was lost in a memory.
“Remember you had posters of him hung up all over your room in like middle school? From Tiger Beat magazine and shit? And now I play video games and mini sticks with the guy,” Auston said with a chuckle.
“Yeah, and if you ever tell him about that, I’ll end your life,” you threatened, shoving at his arm and attempting to ignore how much his biceps had grown since you last touched them. And then you were slamming the door shut on a rush of memories of having him beneath your touch — some innocent, but most intimate.
Auston saw it in your eyes — the place you went for a moment — as you dropped your hand back to the concrete beneath you. He knew where you went because, so often, he went there, too.
He held your gaze and promised, “Your secret’s safe with me. You know that.”
Only a hint of a smile graced your lips for a fleeting moment as you ran your fingers through your hair. Suddenly, you felt the heaviness of the history between the two of you closing in — smothering you, like it always did. Auston watched helplessly, wishing it didn’t have to be this hard.
And then, in a flash, like he so often did to save you from your swirling thoughts, he casually changed the topic as he commented, “Your hair’s shorter. You look like your mom. In a good way.”
Blushing, you breathed a laugh through your nose. “Thanks,” you said softly. “I think it’s the highlights, too.”
“It is,” Auston confirmed, and then — damn him — he reached out and looped a lock from the front of your face between his thumb and forefinger, the way he had done a thousand times before, usually mid-conversation, always absentmindedly. This time, you knew, as you forced your eyes to meet his, it was a bit more calculated. “I really like it,” he told you.
You nodded, searching his eyes to try and determine whether he had any idea what this — this moment, this visit, this day — really was.
“If you’re gonna ask me what we’re doing,” Auston spoke, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth for a second, “then I have to tell you I have no idea.”
Again, damn him. After all this time, it was like he still lived inside your brain and had read your every thought like the morning paper before you even had the chance to convey it. Which used to save you in a lot of ways. Now it felt kind of… intrusive. But somehow you didn’t mind.
“I had no idea what I was even gonna say when I called you. All I know,” he continued, still flipping the strand of hair around his fingers, “is that I really wanted to see you, and that I was really happy when you came, and that I’m really enjoying this time with you.”
You nodded, and as he pulled his hand from your face, his thumb brushed your jawline just slightly, and that touch alone sent a bolt of lightning through you. Auston smiled softly as he said barely above a whisper, “Okay, now it’s your turn to say something.”
You heaved a sigh, tipping your head back with eyes closed and soaking in the sunshine. “I don’t expect you to know, Aus,” you finally spoke. “I was just so... so shocked, I guess, that you wanted to see me. It’s been so long, I just... I didn’t know when I would see you again.”
“We’ve talked though,” Auston pointed out with a sigh to match yours, pulling a knee to his chest and wrapping his arms around his bent leg. “FaceTimed. Texted.”
You rolled your head toward him. “It’s not the same,” you reasoned softly, hesitantly reaching out your hand to tuck some of his black hair behind his ear. He licked his lips swiftly and placed a peck to your thumb before you slowly withdrew your hand.
“You’re right,” Auston conceded. “Definitely not the same.”
“Uh, sorry to interrupt...”
You were snapped out of your private moment by one person’s voice and another person’s squeal behind you.
“Oh, my god!” you yelled as you shot up from the side of the pool, Alexandria and Breyana already scampering toward you from the back door.
“It’s about goddamn time you came back to us!” Alex shrieked, wrapping her arms around you tightly. “I missed you, little sister,” she cooed, rubbing her hands across your back, and you hummed in agreement.
“I missed you, Al,” you replied, kissing her temple as you stepped back to greet the youngest of the Matthews clan.
“And you. My baby!” you exclaimed, pulling Breyana into your arms. “The true star athlete of the family,” you teased as she squeezed your waist.
“Damn straight,” Breyana giggled. “I missed you, Kels. I can’t believe you’re here!”
You pulled away, glancing behind you as you saw Auston slowly approaching out of the corner of your eye. “Me either,” you admitted, eyes widening dramatically as the girls snickered at you. “How was golf?”
“Brey smoked us, no surprise,” Alex replied. “But shut up about the golf. Tell us what’s going on with you two.”
“Alex!” Auston warned, shooting her a glare. “Please don’t.”
Alex gave him her best older sister roll of the eyes and crossed her arms over her chest as Breyana looked between the two of you.
“Nope,” Alex refused. “Not until you tell me what’s up. C’mon, spill.”
“We’re just...” you began, swiveling to look Auston’s way as he smirked down at you, happy to let you flounder in this one all on your own. “Visiting,” you finished, nodding once at Alex, pleased with your choice of verbiage.
“Honestly, you guys…” Breyana lamented.
“Visiting, huh?” Alex echoed, growing even more suspicious. “Yeah, okay. Sure. Wear protection. Anyways, uh—“
“Alex!” Auston repeated, this time through clenched teeth. “I swear to god...”
“Anyways, like I was saying,” Alex continued. “Your parents invited us all to their house tomorrow night for the Christmas party. I didn’t think you were gonna be there — does this mean you will?”
You nodded, causing Alex to clap excitedly. “I’ll be there with bells on,” you confirmed. “I already made my shortbread cookies.” All three siblings moaned in delight at the mention of your famous treats.
“Hell yeah! Plus that means we won’t be the only ones escaping to the balcony to drink,” Breyana commented.
“Brey, you’re like twelve,” Auston taunted, earning him a sharp elbow to the ribs from his younger sister. “You don’t get to drink with us.”
“Whatever,” she retorted. “Like you guys weren’t sneaking Mom and Dad’s liquor when you were younger than me.”
“Anyways,” Alex said yet again, clearing her throat. “We’re gonna go back inside now and shower, and just, uh, leave you guys to whatever it is you were doing beside the pool there. ‘Kay? ‘Kay. See ya,” she sang, spinning Breyana by the shoulders and guiding her inside, both girls whispering and giggling all the while. “Kels, I’ll call you tonight — you can tell me all about it!” Alex called over her shoulder, sliding the door closed.
You turned to see a pink tinge to Auston’s cheeks as he muttered, “Sorry,” with a dry laugh. You shook your head.
“No, don’t be,” you insisted, waving him off as you took a seat at the glass picnic table beside you, Auston following your lead. “It wouldn’t be a visit to the Matthews house without Alex torturing the both of us,” you teased.
Auston nodded. “Very true,” he said, and you knew he didn’t want to stop there, but he couldn’t seem to find what he did want to say next.
Instead, you ventured, “So what are your—”
At the very same time, he started, “Kels, would you maybe—”
You both chuckled at yourselves, locking eyes. This certainly wasn’t the first time this had happened in conversations — far from it. And usually, you were about to say the very same thing.
So, you motioned for him to speak first.
He toyed with the band of his watch as he said nervously, “I was just gonna say, uh, would you maybe wanna go to dinner with me? Tonight?”
You sat back in your chair, smirking, fully aware that you were teetering on a damn fine line.
“I was hoping you might say that.”
_____
An hour later, after reuniting with Brian (Auston was right — he cried more than the rest of his family combined when he hugged you), you headed home to change for dinner. As you pulled away from the Matthews house, you were thankful that Auston had offered to follow you in his own vehicle so that he could drive you to dinner, which in turn gave each of you a few minutes to breathe.
Surprisingly, your mother didn’t seem at all shocked to see the guest you had brought back with you. You had told her that you were going to visit the Matthews’, not specifying which member of the family had invited you, though she could venture a guess. When she watched two vehicles pull into the driveway side by side, she inhaled an excited gasp, a smile overwhelming her features as she came to meet you at the front door, just as you laughed at a lame joke Auston cracked about your driving.
Your mother nearly tackled him in a hug, which he warmly returned. He shared a similar bond with your mom to the one you shared with his, which was yet another piece that fit perfectly into the puzzle that was your relationship. So many pieces fit, and so few didn’t, but that still didn’t make things whole.
But, you ignored that thought — and so many others — as you left the two to chat, bounding up the stairs to change, now grateful that you’d brought more than one nice option to wear to the Christmas party tomorrow, considering the rest of your suitcase was filled with comfy loungewear.
How could you have ever planned for this?
After touching up your hair and makeup and putting on the more understated of the dressy outfits you’d brought, you returned to the kitchen where your mom and Auston stood huddled at the counter, near empty glasses of red wine in front of them both.
“Already boozin’, huh?” you teased as you folded your arms in front of you. They chuckled, and Auston glanced at you over his shoulder with a smile. When he laid eyes on you, though, he stood straight up and turned to face you, making no attempt to hide his stare, even in front of your mother. Without taking his gaze off of you, he threw back his final sip of wine and blew out a flustered breath. You knew you were blushing, so you walked past him to your mother, pressing your cheek to hers for an air kiss so as not to mess up your lipstick.
“Sorry to take your favorite boy away from you, but we should head out,” you announced as you looked back at Auston. He cleared his throat, walking to the other side of the countertop to hug your mom again, thanking her for the wine and something else that you didn’t quite catch.
He followed you down the hall, his hand ghosting along the small of your back as you reached for your purse on the coat rack. You looked back and blew a final kiss to your mom, who waved as she watched Auston open the passenger door of his car and help you in — both of you giggling as you crouched into the low-riding vehicle in your skirt and high heels. Like a mom of a young teen, she stood at the window and watched the two of you drive down the block and out of sight, hands clasped together wistfully as she turned back to finish placing the final decorative touches in the living room ahead of tomorrow.
Just a minute later, your dad came through the door from the grocery store, calling for her, sounding nearly breathless.
“What’s the matter?” she asked, smoothing the silk ribbon wrapped around the banister.
“Marie… did I just see Auston driving Kelsey down the road in a Porsche?” he gaped, his brow furrowed, thumb pointed over his shoulder.
She laughed, looking downward as she nodded.
“Yes, you did,” she confirmed, then looked at him as she felt tears welling. “Jack... I can’t say for sure, but I think maybe the girl is finally coming to her senses.”
A smile spread slowly across your father’s face and he came toward your mother, wrapping her in a hug.
“Well…” he began, kissing her temple. “Then maybe we’ll get our Christmas wish after all.”
“And what’s that?” your mom asked.
“For her to be happy again.”
_____
“You look amazing, Kels,” Auston said seriously from the driver’s seat. “Gorgeous.”
You gave him a coy smile and briefly inspected the outfit he’d chosen before leaving his own parents’ house.
“Thanks,” you said softly. “You don’t look half bad yourself.”
Auston grinned and decided he would take that.
Ten minutes later, he was pulling up to the restaurant you had already known he’d had in mind when he asked you to dinner, without even needing to discuss it. The same Italian restaurant where you’d celebrated infinite birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Days, and other milestones. You fell into easy conversation during drinks and appetizers before Auston told a comical story about his teammates which led to an in that he knew he needed to take.
“They miss you, you know,” Auston stated cautiously between bites of his shrimp scampi. “Mo. Mitchy. Especially Steph.”
You folded and unfolded the seams of the cloth napkin in your lap, considering your response.
“I miss them, too,” you eventually murmured. “So be real with me. You really like it there now?” you leveled with him.
His demeanor shifted — in a good way — as he replied. “It’s honestly great. I mean, you’d love it there now, Kels. I swear,” Auston said, shaking his head in wonder. “’M not just saying that. I mean, the hype is still there, yes, but it’s not at the level it was when I first started. Mitchy and Mo and Willy and I, all us guys who kinda started out together, we’ve all sort of found our groove with the media and stuff, and for the most part, it’s great. I have a feeling it’ll just keep getting better, too.”
You watched his eyes light up as he spoke about Toronto, relief and happiness washing over you. It didn’t seem so long ago that Auston was curled up on the couch, near tears, head in your lap, feeling incapable of living up to the expectations set for him — almost buckling under the immense pressure, the likes of which he had never felt before.
You let out a teary chuckle, swiping at a teardrop on your cheek that had fallen as he answered, taking you by surprise.
“You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that, Aus,” you told him, holding your hand over your heart as it soared within you.
Auston nodded slightly, and his lips twitched into a sad smile. “There’s still something that doesn’t feel right though,” he confessed, though it didn’t feel much like a secret. “Still something missing.”
“And what’s that?” you asked timidly as you lifted your wine glass, excited for and fearful of his answer at all once.
“You.”
Forcing yourself to swallow your merlot so you didn’t spray it across the table, you put your fist to your mouth, holding it there while you attempted to process his latest, and most brazen, admission.
“I mean… look, there have been a few others,” Auston continued with a mindless shrug. “But never anything serious, and never anyone that I’m not constantly comparing to you in every possible way,” he told you, rolling his fingertips on the table and focusing on his hand as he spoke. “Feel kinda bad actually, because I know they all thought it was something more than it really was, and then I was always the one to break things off. I didn’t purposely lead them on, I just... once I got into it, I realized my feelings just weren’t in it.”
You opened your mouth to speak, hands limp in your lap, and then closed your lips in a tight line as you mulled over his words. You inhaled a shuddering breath and looked down, feeling the same shame that had overcome you countless times before come back again.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered without lifting your eyes.
“Kelsey…” Auston spoke firmly. “Look at me. Please.”
You did as he asked, lips pursed, and were met with his adoring, enchanting gaze, always too forgiving of your faults and mistakes.
“It’s okay,” he promised sincerely. “I understand. Trust me on that. I’ve always understood where you were coming from, but it seemed like there was just… just nothing I could do about it. Nothing I could do to make you stay, or to bring you back. That’s what made it so hard. That’s what still makes it so hard.”
You nodded. “Well — what you’re doing right now — whatever this is… it’s working,” you divulged, knowing this was a dangerous game and no longer caring.
“Is it?” Auston asked, a full-blown smile appearing now on his lips. Those lips you missed so damn much.
“Yeah,” you giggled, both of you grinning. “God, I missed your smile, Aus.”
“My smile?” he asked incredulously, then scoffed. “Your smile fucking breaks my heart, Kelsey,” he told you in his deepest tone, biting at the inside of his cheek as if he was trying not to lean across the table and kiss you full on the mouth right then and there.
And now, as you saw that look in his eye that you knew so well, you knew two things.
One, you were fucked. And two, you were in desperate need of a minute.
“I, uh, I gotta run to the ladies’ room,” you told him, standing, feeling unsteady as you pushed in your chair. Auston nodded knowingly and said, “Take all the time you need.”
You brushed a hand over his shoulder, the other holding tightly to your crossbody bag, as you attempted to walk in a straight line toward the restrooms across the restaurant floor. You were only one glass of wine deep, yet this night was making your head feel as fuzzy as if you’d just done a row of shots. Once safely inside the bathroom, you tossed your purse on the counter and held tightly to the sink to try and settle yourself, taking deep breaths in an attempt to control your racing pulse.
Just then, you heard a toilet flush, and your sense of solitude was quickly shattered when you saw a familiar blonde figure step out of the bathroom and lean closer upon recognizing you.
“Kelsey!” she exclaimed, moving toward the sink.
“Holly! Oh, my god,” you laughed as you squeezed her upper arm.
“Here, let me wash my hands and then I’ll give you a real hug,” she promised as you both giggled.
You had been a cheerleader throughout high school, and Holly, a year your senior, had been captain the year before you took on the title. Though you two weren’t particularly close, you had always looked up to her, and you’d kept in touch for a couple of years after you graduated before mostly falling off, save for the occasional hype comment or story reply on social media.
“How are you, girl? You look gorgeous!” she said as she threw her arms around you.
“So do you! I’m doing well, thanks. Home for the holidays,” you offered as she stepped back and nodded.
“Yeah, that’s great! Me, too,” she replied, then smiled mischievously at you. “To be totally honest, uh… I saw you when you were being seated. I didn’t wanna be weird or like, intrude, or anything but… I saw you come in with Auston. Are you guys like… back together?”
“Huh? Oh, no, no,” you laughed nervously, feeling yourself blush under her questioning. “We’re not back together. Just, uh, just two old friends, uh, catching up, ya know?” you reasoned nonchalantly as you reached for your bag.
“Oh. Right. Well... ‘tis the damn season, am I right?” Holly said with a chuckle, her own cheeks slightly flushed as she feared maybe she had made you uncomfortable by addressing the elephant in the room.
“Right,” you nodded cordially, then took a step toward her and patted her hand, wanting to make sure she didn’t think you were upset by her comment. “It’s so good to see you, Hol. I’m gonna head back out there—“
“Kelsey, wait,” Holly said urgently, grasping your arm before you could turn away from her. You blinked at her several times, glancing between her grip and her face as you waited to hear what had gotten into her.
“I just have to tell you... for what it’s worth, you guys still look so happy together,” Holly said. “Even if that’s not what this is. I just... I wanted to tell you that. As someone who has known you both for a long time, Auston never smiles as much as he smiles when he’s with you. It’s just nice to see.”
You gaped at your old friend, speechless, and she scrunched her nose at you. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cross the line, I just...” she trailed off.
You shook your head, forcing yourself to act casual. “No, no. Not at all. It’s okay. Thank you, for telling me. I just, I gotta run,” you said, leaning in to hug her again. “Bye, Hol. Have a merry Christmas.”
“You too, Kels. See you around,” She smiled as you moved toward the bathroom door. With one last polite nod at her, you exited and escaped to your seat.
As you reached the table, you had to physically restrain yourself from reaching out and running your hand along the back of Auston’s neck and affectionately trailing your fingertips over the short hair there, as you had done for so many years when approaching him and sidling up to him. Instead, you smoothed your hand over your dress and sighed as Auston turned his head to look at you, grinning as he watched you sit.
“You get lost?” he teased. You chuckled, throwing your hair behind your shoulders.
“Something like that,” you muttered, immediately reaching for your glass of wine, which you could tell had been refilled in your absence. Auston hummed in acknowledgement as you took a long sip, watching you all the while.
“One more glass and then we get outta here?” Auston suggested as you set the glass down. You only nodded.
_____
“Remember when you had that old truck, with the tires that were always muddy, and we used to just ride around Scottsdale all night long?” you asked Auston, both of you reminiscing about days gone by after leaving the restaurant.
Auston nodded, running his pointer finger across his upper lip, the other hand on the wheel, as he watched the memory projecting in his mind.
“‘Course I do,” he told you, and you didn’t miss the way his tone changed when he did, making you smirk.
“So, where to next?” you prodded. “Back to Casa de Matthews?”
He shrugged ambiguously, but secretly, he knew just what he wanted to do. “We could just ride around. Like we used to. If you want. I mean, there’s no real reason for us to rush back to our parents’ houses, right?” he said with a snicker.
This could get messy as the mud on the truck tires, you thought, but your response was already tumbling from your lips.
“Okay,” you said, smiling at him. “I’d say let’s go drive through the rich neighborhoods and look at Christmas lights like we used to, but that’s where you and your parents live now, so...” You clicked your tongue and Auston rolled his jaw, acting completely offended to hide how much he had missed you chirping him. The way it melted him.
“We’re still going,” he insisted, turning the wheel at the next intersection and pulling a U-turn. “We’ll just, uh, we’re just gonna maybe skip a couple neighborhoods, that’s all.”
You laughed — a real Kelsey belly laugh — and Auston watched as you lit up his world yet again. He didn’t even need to see any Christmas lights this year. He had all the light he needed right next to him.
Minutes later, he passed the usual first turn on your holiday lights tour and you furrowed your brow.
“Aus, where are you going? I wanted to see Ranchero Nuevo first. We always start there,” you reminded him.
“No, what’s the actual first thing we do when we go see Christmas lights?” Auston asked, pulling instead toward the strip mall at the next light. When you saw the green glow of the Starbucks sign up ahead, you smiled as it dawned on you.
“Get hot chocolate,” you said fondly. Instead of answering, Auston simply sent a soft smile your way. “You’re the greatest,” you lauded, igniting a pride that burned bright in Auston’s chest.
“Anything for you, babe,” he said before he could even realize what he’d just done. He snapped his head your way and saw that you were trying your damnedest not to smile.
He was completely taken aback as you quipped, “You can call me babe for the weekend.”
Auston did a double-take and then nodded once at your phone in your hands, which had just lit up with two missed calls and a particularly accusatory text from one Alex Matthews that you decided you would have to tend to later.
“Write this down,” Auston instructed curtly.
“What do you mean?” you laughed, holding your phone up curiously.
“I want proof that you just said that to me,” he deadpanned, jutting his chin toward your glowing screen and sending you into a fit of laughter.
After you’d both recovered, Auston picked up your drink — large peppermint hot chocolate, like always — and a coffee for himself, and you set off to wind your way through the same neighborhoods you had driven through countless times, admiring most of the decorations and poking fun at the gaudiness of some, laughing all the while, without a care.
As he pulled into a neighborhood you knew to be just a stone’s throw away from where he had recently purchased a house, Auston took a deep breath, fingers gripping the steering wheel rigidly, and decided to take the leap and say what had been circling through his brain since you’d stepped foot in the vehicle after dinner but had only just now worked up the nerve to say.
“What if we didn’t go back to our parents’ places tonight?” he asked abruptly, the words sounding much more jumbled and rushed than they had in his head.
You chuckled anxiously, staring straight ahead. “What do you mean?”
He shifted uncomfortably in his seat and pressed on. “Hear me out. What if we just went to my place for the night instead? I don’t mean to like… to hook up, or anything,” he assured. “Just to be together. I just… I really fucking missed you.”
Uh, whoops. He hadn’t exactly meant to slip that last part in there, but it was too late to turn back now.
There was a lengthy pause and the car was frighteningly silent as you weighed your options.
“Well...” you eventually said, nibbling on your bottom lip. “If it’s okay with you, then it’s okay with me.”
“Yeah?” Auston asked immediately, searching your face for confirmation that he had just heard you correctly. He couldn’t believe that this — any of this— was really happening.
You nodded.
“Yeah. And… Aus?” you spoke.
“Yes, Kelsey?” he asked softly, joy radiating from his whole being and seeping into his words.
You leaned your head back against the seat and reached to wrap your hand around his on the center console.
“I really fucking missed you, too,” you told him.
_____
“Why did you agree to come with me tonight anyway, Kelsey?”
You and Auston were each almost a full bottle of wine deep by the time he asked this, inhibitions now lowered. He’d barely finished giving you the tour before you were both so palpably overwhelmed by the reality of being alone together in his house, with so many feelings buzzing about frenetically, that you took the liberty of pulling a bottle of red from the wine fridge and asking for glasses and a corkscrew. Auston forked them over without question, and now you were deeply entrenched in the process of examining old battle wounds that had never quite healed.
“Because I missed you,” you answered truthfully. “And also because I owed it to you to accept your invitation when you took a chance by reaching out.”
“You don’t owe me anything, Kels,” he claimed, taking a swig.
You picked up your glass and passed by him as you began to pace the tile floor, unable to just be still during this exchange — this conversation that had been a long time coming.
“I do, though,” you argued. “You gave me everything. Everything. And I still left.”
Auston squeezed the stem of his wine glass so hard he feared he may just shatter it.
“I don’t want you blaming yourself for the things I put you through because of my career choice,” he said firmly, a hand splayed against his chest as he accepted the responsibility, just like he always did.
“But you didn’t choose to have the media posted up outside our apartment every day. You didn’t choose to have strangers stalking me and my family online. You didn’t choose to have them calling me a distraction and a leech and a gold digger and a wh—“
“Don’t say it,” he warned as he lifted a finger, referencing the specific instance of the smearing of your character that had left you broken enough to start packing your bags.
“Okay,” you conceded quietly, knowing just how sick that one word had made him. “But listen. Yes, you chose to play hockey. But you didn’t choose all that shit that came along with it. You didn’t know! Hell, you didn’t even get to choose where you played. But even so… honestly, I used to blame you for everything. Because back then, it was just easier for me to deal with it that way.”
Auston’s head hung between his shoulder blades as he leaned his palms against the bar, reliving the very same pain that had eaten away at him for the past three years, especially the acute ache that had come in the weeks immediately after you left.
“I know you did — blame me, that is,” he said softly. “And I understand why.”
You took slow and deliberate steps back to where he stood and rubbed your hand soothingly across his broad back, feeling the way his muscles relaxed under your touch.
“Hey… look at me, huh?” you asked, gently guiding his face toward yours with your fingers. “I don’t blame you, Aus. I don’t,” you assured, your eyes piercing into his. “Not anymore. I’ve grown. I know I did this. I know it’s my fault that we’re like this. I mean, fuck, I broke my own heart, and I know I hurt you. I just... at the time, I didn’t see a way forward on the road we were on.”
Auston’s mind was firing on all cylinders as he tried desperately to compute what he’d just heard, convinced he was gathering more from your words than you meant for him to.
“And now?” he ventured.
He watched as your pained expression turned to one of, dare he even think it, hope.
“I still see it, Aus,” you said. “I still see us ending up together. I know it’s out of the blue, but…”
“It’s not though,” he said, cocking his head a bit to punctuate his point. “I know it doesn’t make much sense, any of this, but… to me, it’s not out of the blue. I’ve wanted this for so long,” he told you. “And I just need you to know that. Regardless of what happens next.”
“Auston, you and me together… that’s the only thing that makes sense. That’s all that’s ever made sense to me,” you said, clarity washing over you. “But I just, I wasn’t ready. And I got so scared that I wouldn’t be able to handle your life that I… I just ran.”
“You can run, Kelsey,” Auston said softly as he, yet again, twirled a strand of your hair around his finger. “But only so far.”
“Yeah…” you whispered. Then, without hesitation, you grasped his chin between your forefinger and thumb, turning his face to yours and studying his brown eyes just for a heartbeat before pressing your lips to his.
And for now, that was all that needed to be said.
_____
You hadn’t slept together. But you had slept together.
Too much crying and laughing and kissing and rehashing and wondering aloud had left you both emotionally drained and physically exhausted, and after dragging yourself into the master bathroom to throw on a crewneck and a pair of  Auston’s sweats, you’d promptly fallen asleep in his arms, a smile on his features even in sleep.
The next morning it occurred to you, with your cheek pressed against his bare chest and your legs entangled with his, that Auston’s bed — whether here, or in the house where he grew up, or in Toronto — was the warmest one you’d ever known. Though you could tell by the sunlight flooding the room that it was late in the morning, you couldn’t bear to move away from him.
Soon, he, too, began to stir. As he squinted in the daylight and peered down at you, he closed his eyes once more, a peaceful grin on his lips.
“Oh, thank god that wasn’t just a dream,” he whispered. You chuckled, your fingertips lazily drawing shapes on his pecs as you nuzzled your head further into his neck.
“Nope,” you established. “This is very, very real.”
You lay in quiet thought for a moment before adding softly, “But what happens now?”
At that, Auston’s eyes opened wider this time, a slight panic visible in his face.
“Well,” he began, smoothing his hand over your head and kissing your hair. “What happens now is that we get some coffee.”
You sighed at his attempt to make light of the situation and pushed yourself to sit straight up in bed, cross-legged in front of where he lay on his side.
“You know that’s not what I mean,” you spoke, your fingers pulling anxiously at the bedsheet below. “Yesterday was like a fever dream and now... now we have to face reality.”
Slowly, Auston sat up, too, and pulled you into his lap, allowing you to rest your back against his torso as he gathered your hair at the nape of your neck in a makeshift ponytail.
“Everything that happened yesterday was reality, baby,” he insisted, kissing the crown of your head.
“Our feelings, yes,” you allowed. “But not the rest of it. I mean, fuck, we’re both leaving town in —“ you glanced at the bedside clock and were shocked by the 11:27 that stared back at you, realizing you’d practically slept in half the day — “48 hours. And then what? I go back to LA and you go back to Toronto and we just wonder about—“
“Baby, stop,” Auston begged as he turned you to face him, bringing your forehead to his lips. “Take a breath,” he said, stroking your jaw with his thumbs as he looked down at you, concern etched into his features. “We don’t have to figure all this out right this minute. In fact, we’re not going to. For right now, let’s just let this be what it is. And you have to try and stop spinning your wheels so fast. You’re gonna burn a hole in my floor,” he joked, kissing your nose.
You chuckled sadly, holding his wrists. “You’re right,” you eventually told him. “We’ll figure it out, somehow. I know we will,” you sighed, frowning. “First things first though, I have to get home and help my mom get ready for the party tonight.”
Before you could get out of bed to start gathering your things, Auston circled his arms around your hips and kept you in his lap. “Wait, gimme a smile first,” he requested.
You looked up at him and offered a tight-lipped smile, still distracted by the future of your relationship teetering precariously in the balance.
Auston shook his head. “That’s a fake Kelsey smile,” he accused, accurately. “Don’t even try me.”
With another deep sigh, you muttered, “You’re the only soul who can tell.”
“Who can tell what?” he asked, hugging you tighter.
You looked up at him for a moment, feeling more seen than you had in years. “Which smiles I’m faking,” you said quietly.
A pleased smile twitched at the corners of Auston’s lips before he pressed his mouth to yours.
_____
Auston walked into your parents’ house that night with his understated charm and a devastating ensemble of a maroon suit, white shirt with the top few buttons undone, and black loafers, looking every bit the GQ model he was once upon a time. With two bouquets of red roses and a bottle of champagne in hand, he knocked on the glass and your dad met him enthusiastically at the door.
“What’s the occasion?” your dad then chuckled, a bit puzzled. Auston glanced to where you stood near the staircase, waiting to greet him, and smiled.
“These are for your daughter,” Auston said as he grasped one bouquet. “And these are for your wife,” he said as he gestured toward the other. Your dad raised his eyebrows, looking between the two of you pensively, and let out a loud laugh. “Well, how thoughtful! And the champagne?” your dad asked as Auston stepped toward you and tucked one bunch of roses into your hold. He kissed your cheek chastely and turned back to your dad.
“Well, you never know when you’re gonna have something to celebrate,” Auston said with a smirk. You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth and your dad clapped Auston’s back appreciatively before leaving the two of you to your moment.
“Thank you, for the flowers,” you said softly, staring up at him. “They’re beautiful.”
“You’re welcome,” he said with a nod before your aunt and uncle suddenly appeared in the doorway, loudly greeting you and pushing their way toward you for hugs as Auston gave them their space and waited for you to become available again.
His patience lasted all of five minutes as he made vague pleasantries with the handful of guests who had already arrived, before he was approaching you again, eager to do what he really came here to do and unable to wait a moment longer. As you turned away from a brief conversation with a longtime next-door neighbor, Auston gently grasped your wrist as he said hastily, “Can I see you outside for a second?”
You didn’t have much of a choice as he led you hurriedly through the formal living room and out the French doors to the balcony, closing them behind you and backing you into a corner, hidden from view.
“Aus, what are you—“
He pressed his body into yours, nudging you back against the rail as he took your face in his hands and kissed you hungrily.
“Doing,” you whispered when he let up, completing your earlier thought as you pressed your fingertips against your swollen lips and looked up at him, your cheeks reddening.
“That,” he answered simply with a small smile. “And I wanted to give you something...”
He patted his pockets to determine where the object was, and your eyes widened.
“Auston, no!” you exclaimed, squeezing his elbows in an attempt to stop his search. “You can’t. I didn’t get you anything. I —”
“Kelsey, are you crazy? Yes, you did,” he said firmly. “Time with you. You gave me time with you. That’s all I’ve wanted for the last three years. That’s more than I could have ever asked for.”
There was nothing you could say then, nothing that sounded worthy enough to hold any significance in such an already meaningful vignette of the two of you. Auston took your silence as his opportunity to pull a mid-sized, square, red leather box from the pocket of his suit jacket, the name “Cartier” imprinted in gold script on the lid.
“Auston, stop,” you warned in a whisper, knowing what was inside and knowing that you would be rendered completely incapable of walking away from him once he offered this gift to you, knowing what it signified for both of you. He shook his head, knowing that your request was an empty one. He propped open the box and placed it on the small wrought iron table in front of you on the balcony. You couldn’t peel your eyes from it as your mind raced with questions.
“How... where... we slept until noon, Aus,” you stuttered. “All the stores were closed. Where did you even buy this?”
He pursed his lips and nodded once, then put his hands into his pockets and admitted, “I’ve had it for almost three years, Kels.”
You blinked again and again, not processing what he’d just revealed.
“I’m sorry... what?”
“I bought this for you for Valentine’s Day three years ago,” he continued. “I bought it and I hid it in my closet and I was gonna give it to you but we broke up on —“
“January 30th...” you whispered. Auston’s brows knit together in agony, and his throat constricted.
“You remember too,” he stated quietly.
“Yeah. Yeah, I remember a little too well,” you said, sniffling as you glanced down at the box again.
Suddenly, your mind drifted back not to that fateful day in his apartment in Toronto, but instead to lying on your stomach as a kid in your family room, flipping through the pages of your favorite issue of your mom’s old Vogue magazines, as Auston used a yardstick and a Nerf ball as makeshift hockey equipment, taking shots at your couch again and again while you soaked in the photos of beautiful models, trendy clothing, and expensive jewelry, as visions of working at a fashion magazine someday twirled through your daydreams.
“Whatcha readin’?” a ten-year-old Auston inquired as he dropped next to you to take a break from his game.
“Vogue,” you answered, turning another page. “Like usual.”
Auston nodded, spotting a pretty woman in a tight black dress and commented, “Cool,” with a laugh. “If you could have anything in that book, what would you pick?”
Ever the master of sass, you rolled your eyes.
“It’s a magazine, Aus,” you corrected with venom in your voice as Auston rolled his own eyes. “But, if I had to pick... I know just what I want,” you informed him, leafing through the issue to get back to an ad in the front. When you finally found what you were seeking, you plopped the magazine down again, smacking your hand onto its glossy pages.
“That,” you said, pointing to the gold bangle. “It’s called the Love Bracelet. It says that it gets bought by somebody you love and then they have to use a screwdriver to put it on you.”
“A screwdriver?!” Auston asked incredulously. “Wouldn’t that hurt?”
You giggled. “No, silly,” you drawled. “It doesn’t hurt. But then the person who loves you is the only one who can put it on you or take it off you. You can’t do it by yourself.”
Auston nodded. “Cool,” he repeated, more seriously this time. You sighed wistfully as you gazed down at the bracelet.
“Yeah, but it’s a whole bunch of money, and my dad said he isn’t buying it. He said maybe my husband will get me one someday,” you said sadly. Auston watched your face drop, then, he got an idea.
“How about this,” he offered, nudging you with his elbow. “If I get famous for playing baseball, or hockey I guess, and I make a boatload of money, then I’ll buy you that bracelet. ‘Kay?”
You blushed, hunching your shoulders as you were slightly embarrassed by your best friend’s offer. Still, you loved Auston, and you knew he loved you. He was the only person you wanted to get that bracelet from, except for like, your mom or dad.
“Okay,” you agreed. “You promise?”
Auston dragged his index finger over the left side of his chest. “Cross my heart,” he confirmed.
This time, it was your turn to say, “Cool.”
“I asked my mom to hold onto it,” you heard him telling you now. Now that you’d become the people you’d said you’d be. Now that you both had grown into the farfetched dreams you’d shared as children. Now that you’d come back home — back to one another. Now that he was here, in front of you, again. “I just couldn’t bear to take it back, even though I honestly never thought I’d get the chance to give it to you.”
You were shaking your head endlessly, attempting to stop tears from streaking your face. “I can’t believe this...” you said, awestruck.
“I don’t have to put this on you right now,” Auston said, swallowing his own tears he felt creeping up on him. “I just want you to have it. It’s yours. You should keep it.”
With a few swipes at your undereyes, you rubbed away the wetness on your hands and then extended your left wrist to Auston. A smile flashed briefly across his lips before he set them in a straight line once more.
“Are you sure?” he asked, caution in his voice.
You pulled him in by his waist, beaming, before you answered.
“I’ve played this out basically every night since I left,” you told him. “Even when I was with somebody. I just followed the path my mind was taking me all the way to the very end, until there was no place left to go. And it always leads to you. It always leads me home.”
Auston pulled you into a searing kiss, both of you smiling into it, before he squeezed your hand and reached for the box, carefully disassembling the bracelet so that he could put it on you at last.
“All day I’ve been thinking about what I said earlier. About running,” you spoke as Auston worked on securing the bracelet. “I started running and running and it’s been such a mess since then. Nothing about the past three years made any sense to me. And then I saw you, and… it all made sense again. You and I were the only thing that ever made sense to me,” you told him, your voice wavering as he twisted the final screw into place, lifting the inside of your wrist to his lips and placing a warm, reverent kiss to the skin there, his eyes never leaving yours as he did. “So I’m done. I’m done running, Auston. I can’t run anymore.”
“You have no fucking clue how long I’ve waited to hear you say that,” Auston admitted, touching his forehead to yours before leaning back. “So, to your earlier point... what the hell are we supposed to do now?”
You ran a frazzled hand through your long hair and bit at the inside of your cheek as you formulated your response. “I mean, I have to go back, Aus. I’m working on a really big project...”
Your words put him into a tailspin of his own this time, watching the dreams he had let resurface over the last two days come crashing down in front of him all over again. You were eluding him. Again.
His ears were buzzing so loudly that he barely heard your next words.
“But maybe after that... I could come and spend some time in Toronto?”
Auston pulled his tongue away from the roof of his dry mouth and pleaded, in a voice barely above a whisper, “Don’t do that.”
“Don’t do what?”
“Don’t say that unless you really mean it,” he said, desperation in his tone.
“I mean, really, I don’t have a choice,” you pointed out with a breathy laugh, your fingers tracing the cold metal of the bangle around your other wrist. “I don’t see any other way that this ends. Not after this. This perfect fucking weekend. I mean... do you?”
“No,” he quickly retorted. “No, I don’t. I was just scared that you... that this was going to be it for you. That we would have this incredible time together and then it would just be another chapter in the Auston and Kelsey history book.”
You smoothed your hands over his lapels, allowing your body to fully relax into his.
“Auston, this... this is different,” you said somberly. “Before, it all just felt like too much. I got scared. We were so young, Aus. I mean, we’re still young, but we were babies. And now... I’ve realized that dealing with the press and the social media and the fans... it’s worth it to me. I’ll never like it. But I love you. And that’s enough. That will always be more than enough for me — being with you. And I’m so sorry that it’s taken me this long, that it took me finally coming back home, to realize that.”
“Don’t be sorry, Kels, please,” Auston whispered, one hand clutching at your hip, the other tangled in the hair at the back of your head as he held onto you with everything he had, knowing he was ready to do so for as long as you would let him. “Just... just say it again, baby. Please?”
“I love you, Aus,” you whispered, tears falling freely down your cheeks as he pressed his forehead to yours. “I’m never gonna stop.”
“Don’t stop,” Auston pleaded, nuzzling his nose against yours before pressing his lips to your mouth. “Don’t ever stop. Promise?” he asked, his voice gravelly.
“Cross my heart,” you whispered, drawing a pretend line across your chest before cupping his cheek and kissing him tenderly.

38 Geraskier? If it’s not too much trouble, thanks Wolfie!
This got away from me! This is why it takes a while to fill prompts. I cannot write anything under 500 words. I was going for a 5 +1 format but it ended up being 2+1... anyhoo. Enjoy!
#38 Everyone thinks we’re already dating, but we’re just best friends- oh wait
_______
Yennefer
Geralt was sat opposite Yennefer at a fancy restaurant. His shirt collar was almost choking him and the fabric felt far too stiff and starchy for his liking but Yen was important to him. It was their last chance to get this right and he’d done everything he could think of to impress her. He wanted to be right for her. He didn’t want to lose her. They weren’t well suited but the thought of losing her just filled him with dread. He wasn’t sure if she would stick around if they weren’t dating and her company had become invaluable to him.
Yen sipped at her cocktail through the silver straw. Her red lipstick leaving stains on the metal. She gazed at him cooly across the table with her stunning violet eyes. He was rambling on nervously about some shit Jaskier had gotten himself into the day before in attempt to stop the conversation from drying up.
“Geralt.” Yen said calmly in between sips of her drink. Geralt’s mouth snapped shut and he tensed up. He knew this had been coming but he wished… he just wished they could be good. “What the fuck are you trying to do here?”
“I don’t understand.” He grunted, prolonging the inevitable. He picked at his food. Even his pie and chips had ended up being some deconstructed shit. Chips were chips, not some weird potato mush streaked across the plate.
“Was this supposed to be a date, Geralt?” Yen sighed with a roll of her eyes. “I didn’t realise Jaskier was the sharing sort?”
Geralt choked on the carrot ball he’d just popped in his mouth. “Sharing? Jaskier?”
“Well he is your boyfriend.” Yen raised an eyebrow.
“He’s what?!” _________
Priscilla
Jaskier stuck his tongue out as he carefully brushed the vibrant pink nail varnish over his toes. Geralt was out with Yennefer on a date, breaking Jaskier’s heart for the umpteenth time in the process, so he’d invited Pris over for a girl’s night in to sooth the pain. They were half a bottle of vodka in and he was really regretting that now as he struggled not to smear his nail varnish.
Priscilla’s hands covered his and took the bottle and brush from his hands. He pouted as he stared up at her. “Let me.” She insisted.
He scoffed and waved his hand.
Ok so when he said they were half a bottle of vodka in…. that maybe kinda was sort of all him…. maybe. “M’fine!” He protested but let his head fall back on the pillows as she took his foot carefully into her lap and continued his pitiful attempts to paint his nails.
“Mhmm.” She agreed. “Sure. I’ve ordered pizza. I think you’ll need it. You owe me big time, Jask.”
“S’not my fault. It’s Geralt’s fault!” He babbled. “And Yennefer. Damn witch! Bloody seductress. Fuck.” He groaned and pulled his arms to his chest. His heart fucking ached and he felt so empty.
“Did he at least break up with you kindly?” Pris asked with shining cornflower blue eyes that matched his own, a present from their mother. “I have contacts. He will pay sorely for this.”
Jaskier choked on his own breath and propped himself up, ignoring the spinning in his head. “Break up with me?” He asked. “Why would he need to break up with me?!”
Priscilla furrowed her brow. “Because you were dating?” She asked with a tilt of her head.
“Noooo….” Jaskier elongated the word with a shake of his head. The movement made the whole room spin and he had to close his eyes to stop the nausea. “No. We weren’t.” _________
Geralt and Jaskier
Geralt raced home from the restaurant, fleeing the table and promising Yen that he would pay her back. He had to get to Jaskier. Fuck. Had he really been so blind to his friend’s affections? He’d had a crush on his housemate since university but Jaskier flirted so opening and charmingly with every person he met except for Geralt that Geralt had be resigned to the fact he would only ever be Jaskier’s friend.
Jaskier.
The one constant thing in his life. Even Yen flitted in and out as she pleased but Jaskier stayed. He wanted to stay. Geralt had grown used to the close intimacy of friendship with him and moving in together had just made sense. It was cheaper than living alone and for all of Jaskier’s romantic exploits he couldn’t seem to find anyone who wanted him.
Not like Geralt wanted him. “Fuck.” He cursed and pulled his key from his pocket. He fumbled with the lock.
Apparently their entire friendship group thought they were dating, that Jaskier was his boyfriend. The way they would always curl up together on film nights, or share food and drinks when they went out for dinner, even the way Jaskier grasped onto his arm as they walked side by side, it had all been evidence to their relationship. Oh and Geralt was naturally the last to know that Jaskier was hopelessly in love with him and had been for years. Yen admitted that she’d known since the beginning, his brothers had both found out when Jaskier had visited them for Christmas the first time, and that was two years ago.
The door swung open and he barrelled into the living room. He almost slipped on a pizza box but managed to dance around it just as Jaskier landed in his arms. Instinctively he caught his friend. He was used to Jaskier leaping at him like this. The musician stank of booze and pizza but it was the redness in his eyes that drew Geralt’s attention.
“I’m… I’m just going to leave?” Priscilla gave an awkward wave. “Be good to him Geralt. You owe him that much.”
“I know. Thank you, Pris.” Geralt nodded before carrying Jaskier upstairs to his bedroom.
“At least buy me a drink first.” Jaskier mumbled as Geralt dropped him to the bed.
Geralt laughed but cupped his friend’s cheek. “You’ve been crying.”
“I was sad.” Jaskier admitted. His speech was slurred but Geralt had been looking after drunk Jaskier for years. He was fluent in drunk Jaskier. “Crying helps.”
“Because of me.” Geralt sighed and brushed Jaskier’s fringe out of his eyes. “I didn’t know.”
“Because I didn’t want you know. I didn’t want you to leave like everyone else.” Jaskier half sobbed and yanked away from Geralt’s touch, burying his face in the bed sheets.
“I would never leave you, Jaskier.”
“Everyone does. No one ever lets me stay.” Came the muffled reply. “I’m too loud, I love too freely, it’s all too much. So they leave.”
“Hmm.” Geralt said thoughtfully. “Everyone else seemed to think we were already dating, so what would really change if I were to say I loved you too.”
“Don’t.” Jaskier snapped, not lifting his head from the pillow but swatting Geralt blindly with his hand. “Don’t say that if you don’t mean it.”
“We would go out together, which we already do. We would fall asleep together after watching a film, which we already do. I’d say you could meet my family but you know them all already and I’ve met yours.” Geralt listed off and he stroked his hand through Jaskier’s hair. “Or maybe we could move in together, start a life together. I’ll wash up and you can dry. You never like getting your hands wet and it’s easier to dance around the kitchen when you aren’t stuck by the sink.”
Jaskier rolled over with a sigh. “Alright, you bastard. You’ve made your point.”
“So if I love you, which I do. What would change?” Geralt smirked.
“Well you could start by kissing me.” Jaskier pouted.
Geralt laughed and kissed Jaskier’s head. “You’re drunk, love.”
“Noble fool.” Jaskier groaned. “One kiss, I promise I’ll behave.”
Geralt tilted his head. One kiss wouldn’t hurt. “Do you promise you’ll remember it? We only get one first kiss.”
Jaskier rolled his eyes and pulled Geralt down for a kiss. His lip ghosted over Geralt’s. “I promise.” He swore and at last their lips met.

Fawn - Part 4
Tumblr media
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 |  Part 4 |  Part 5 | Part 6 | Masterlist
Title: Fawn - Part 3
Words: 3.2k
Summary: Yennefer confirms Geralt’s suspicions and a rift is created between you and the White Wolf. Angst. Suggested smut. Fluff. Hurt/comfort.
Pairing: Geralt x reader
Warnings: Suicidal ideation, miscarriage, abortion. If you’re triggered PLEASE skip ahead. Please check out the trigger warnings (tw:) in the tags!
A/N: Don’t blame me. It was that fricking wish! I’m not happy about it, either, but it’s canon. Comments welcome. Thanks for reading as always!
Like an expectant father waiting outside the delivery room, Jaskier paced just outside the tent while Geralt sharpened his sword near the fire.
“No. Get out before I portal you away,” Yennefer demanded yet again when the bard poked his head in and asked for an update.
“She’ll come out when she’s ready,” the burly Witcher grunted. Another plume of purple smoke rose from the tent door and static sizzled inside. Jaskier began thinking of a verse that needed to rhyme with “plume.”
Wiping her hands, she emerged and motioned at Jaskier: “Watch her. Geralt, you’re with me.”
Sauntering across the way to her own much larger, and much more richly furnished tent, Geralt followed behind like a puppy.
“Well?”
“Well? Well, I saved her life, darling,” the raven haired woman smirked, turning to face him once they reached the foot of her lavish bed. Tossing aside the cloth, she twirled a finger and a dozen candles lit around the space.
He was not impressed by simple tricks. “What happened? It wasn’t just poison, was it? It was a curse.”
“Yes, my love,” she sighed, bored with conversation, so she lifted his shirt and ran both hands up his muscular torso, making the tense fibers just under his skin twitch. “I lifted it though.”
Tumblr media
Craning his neck low, he crushed his mouth to her plump lips. The relief and gratitude expressed in his kiss melted when feral heat took over. They were souls bound together by a wish he made years ago to save her life. As such they were drawn time and again to this exact moment.
She moaned, tugging at the ties on his breeches pressed against her stomach. Biting down on his bottom lip suddenly, she flattened her palms to his chest and pushed him back to the bed, intent on climbing him and claiming payment for a job well done.
*
“So she’ll be able to travel soon?” Geralt huffed lazily, one arm under his head on the pillow.
“You’re really taking her back to her father?” Yennefer sighed, playing with the glistening sweat droplets along the center of his chest.
“That’s the plan.”
“Well, if you do travel with her just have her take it easy the next few days.”
“Why?” He arched an eyebrow down at the naked woman still tangled up with him under the sheets.
“Well, she’s with child, Geralt. But the child is much smaller than it should be. She probably needs to see a real healer to have it dealt with anyway - given the circumstances.”
His brow furrowed sharply and he gripped her upper arms, dragging her off of him as he sat up. “Dealt with...?”
She sighed, running the back of her fingers down the sinews of his forearm. “Mm. She told me who the father is. I just went to his wedding just last month. It's a bad idea to show your new bride your bastard child. So yes… dealt with.”
“Wedding?” he mirrored, breaking into a cold sweat. “Did you tell her this?”
Yennefer shrugged and rolled over. “I alluded to it. Hmm. You know she may not need a healer on second thought. Baby isn’t well. Body might try to reject it after this, so watch for - where are you going?”
Stepping into his breeches, he glanced over his shoulder at the raven haired woman lounging in bed still. “Why didn’t you tell me about this?”
“Why? Did you want to attend with me? The food was decent but the wine was weak. I so would have loved to have dressed you, though.”
His frustrated growl was not lost on her but she didn’t budge by the threatening sound of it. “She told me where you met. Geralt, I said I’d try to save her life but she’s your whore. I’ve done more than enough here, my love. If you leave this tent tonight, I’ll be gone by daybreak.”
He didn’t even have his pants tied before he stalked out of the tent barefoot into the dewy grass. Jaskier heard him coming from his own cot opposite yours. Finding it quite impossible to sleep anyway, he met the Witcher at the tent flap opening.
“That witch gave her something to sleep but it’s not quite doing its job,” the bard forewarned, touching Geralt’s shoulder. He held his friend back just a moment longer to catch his golden-eyed attention. “It’s not you she’s been calling for.”
Jaskier excused himself, ducking past his friend breathing hard with his jaw clenched. Every muscle up the back of his legs and across his spine snapped into tension; the coppery scent of bloody cloths left on the table sent his senses into a frenzy the moment he stepped inside.
“N… no… n...” you moaned in your fitful sleep, writhing and grasping at the pillow under your head.
Cat eyes dilated in the near dark, his attention drew to the shadow of your body tucked under a thin blanket. In two strides, he dropped by your side and dragged the tear-soaked hair from sticking to your cheeks.
Your head rocked back and forth on the pillow, your expression wrought with grief, one hand grasping at nothing but air until his fingers closed over it.
He lifted his brows in the center, anguish lining his forehead. Your breathing came in hiccups, clearly crying in your nightmare.
“Wake up, little fawn,” he rumbled, pulling deep from within to sound calm so as not to frighten you. “Come on, wake up.”
“Ah…” Your legs shifted under the blanket and you inhaled deeply.
Your wet eyelashes flashed open, revealing still slightly ink-stained black tears rolling down your cheeks. “Where is he? Where’s Acheros?”
Tumblr media
Rolling his eyes at the sound of his name, Geralt backed up into the shadow of a tent peg. “That’s a good fucking question.”
“Why did he leave me in that horrible place?” You pressed, eyes bleary from tears, pain and exhaustion.
“Hmm,” he grunted, sitting back against the other cot.
“He said he’d always come find me. ‘Nothing in all of eternity could keep us apart,’ he said.”
Another frustrated grunt as Geralt sat back. As Jaskier stoked the flames of the fire outside, the walls of the canvas tent illuminated with flicks of orange light.
You stayed silent a long time, letting the length and breadth seep into your conscious thought. Curling up on yourself, you rolled over into the tent wall and away from the brutish man sitting in silence across from you. “Is it true? Did he - get married - without me?”
“Mmm,” Geralt hummed in the affirmative, dropping his head back as the reflected orange flames danced on the ceiling. He cursed under his breath.
There is a screech a striga makes when you deliver that final death strike straight through its heart; the sound is horrendous up close. Because of their circulation system, it takes them a moment to go, all the while realizing they’ve met their end. And then there is the soft little squeak of a rabbit as its neck is being broken. It doesn’t understand what is happening to it and doesn’t expect the end.
Neither startled cry at their moment of death is as difficult to listen to as your trembling gasp and wailing sob at the exact moment your heart broke in two.
Snarling his upper lip in disgust, he planted a fist on the ground to stand up, but stilled hearing you speak into your own hands.
“But… this is his child. And... I’m his.”
“Fuck.” Geralt replanted himself and sighed harshly, rubbing his rough thumb of one hand into the palm of another.
“What?” you shuddered, glancing over your shoulder. “But I love him...”
“You’ve said,” he husked, glancing at the exit with an arched brow and a changed mind. Waking you from that nightmare, he actually considered taking you in his arms and comforting you with all of the strength he had in him. He was not particularly given to tender moments, but if you’d have asked, even whimpered, anything at all, he’d have moved heaven and earth to shelter you.
You turned away from his frustrated growling. “Where is he? He should be here.”
With a huff of rage, he lifted to his feet and took the one large step to the door. Rolling over, your torso twisted and you yelped at the sharp pain. “Ah - fuck! What -“
Tumblr media
“You were very sick,” he oversimplified, glancing behind his shoulder. “Yennefer…”
“Yennefer? She says she’s the ‘Love of your life’? I thought I was dreaming but she’s really real?”
“You should know Yennefer saved YOUR life.”
You mewled, ripped the covers down your thighs and tugged at your torn shirt, trying to find the source of the overwhelming pain.
Setting his jaw, he breathed deep and clenched his fist to keep from absolutely roaring at you. “You wouldn’t have survived - to be reunited with whoever this arsehole is, since that’s clearly all you can think about.”
It was neither his tone nor his words that shook you, rather the ache in your belly. “Something feels wrong.”
“As it should. Sleep.”
“Fuck you,” you spat holding your middle, getting up onto your feet much more slowly than he did. Bumping chests, you glared up at him. “You knew, didn’t you? You knew and you didn’t say a damn thing.”
Nostrils flared, patience dwindling, he looked over your head; he knew the second he glanced down and saw the pain in your eyes, it’d just add fuel to his  fire and one of the two of you needed to be levelheaded.
“Not for certain until Yen told me a few minutes ago. Although I had suspected something like this when you told the story yesterday.”
Suddenly alert, you bolted toward the tent flap, but a heavy arm across the front of your shoulders blocked your way. Desperately, you reached both hands out. “Please! I need to go home. I just need to see him. He’ll explain and fix it.”
Your pained gaze finally lifted to his, digging your fingernails into his forearm locked across your chest.
His sharp gaze narrowed. “There’s a reason he didn’t come back for you. Showing up on his doorstep, now, won’t produce the results you want, I guarantee you.”
“But - I did everything I was told to do,” you gasped, blinking back tears that spilled down your cheeks anyway. Dropping your head, the tears dripped freely onto the ground. Tilting your shoulders just slightly into him, you bumped your forehead against his chest and stayed like that a long while.
“I hate you...” you sniffled and hiccupped, speaking slowly, clearly drained.
“Mmph.” He grunted, holding the back of your bare neck.
The rage had worn around the edges like two fighters in the last round dragging their feet; both of you were slow to swing back.
“Come on,” he encouraged as gently as he could muster, thumbing behind your neck. “Lie down.”
He sighed, glancing down at your trembling, balled up fist thumping against his chest.
“I-I h-hate y-“ you sobbed, nosing into his chest. “I h-aate-“
“I know,” he grumbled, closing his hand around your fist. “You hate me.”
He rested his chin on your head and carded his fingers through your hair. Feverish tears eventually gave way to panting, then to soft breaths against his skin.
“What am I going to do?” you croaked, dragging your fingertips down his spine, releasing the muscles you’d been clawing into. “I don’t know what to do.”
“The first thing you’re going to do is get some rest,” he graveled overhead. Not giving you a second to protest, he collected your wrists from behind his hips and drew you back to your cot, throwing open the covers with his free hand.
“I don’t want to sleep,” you whined, giving him a side eyed glance.
“Lie down and count geese then,” he huffed, clearly not budging on it.
With a long sigh, you crawled in and curled up, pressing your face down into the pillow. Your eyes closed when the blanket rugged up over your shoulders.
Hearing your voice just barely mumbling into your pillow, he came down onto a knee and tilted his head.
“Hmm?” he graveled just above a whisper. “You don’t mean that. … No, you don’t. … Hm? Fine, I will. Sleep.”
Settling down cross legged, he reached over the short expanse between you and the edge of the cot. As promised, he smoothed over your hair, and hummed a deeply soothing tune, the one he’d sometimes hum to Roach when she was being groomed.

Temptation Waits
I’m crap at summaries which is why i never do them but perhaps i will attempt one for a change. I hope you like it because i do :)
Summary: What happens when you go to a party, get a little drunk, and reveal your dirtiest thoughts to the guy you’re secretly in love with? You didn’t know but you were about to find out. Iwaizumi would know it all by the end of the night.
Tumblr media
I made the banner, first one I’ve made actually.
Warnings: 18+, swearing, lots of dirty talk, alcohol consumption, biting/marking, vaginal sex, pussy job i guess though i wish there was a better term, creampie, some fluff because i just like fluff lol.
You throw back the shot in your hand and retrieve your drink from the bar top. They had gone all out with this party. Nice food spread, bartender, even a DJ but you suppose that was to be expected when you were heading to Nationals.
Yes, your university volleyball team had finally overcome their archrivals. Aoba Johsai had defeated Shiratorizawa in a spectacular five set match.
After Iwaizumi had made that final spike it seemed as though the entire gym had erupted in cheers, well everyone except Shiratorizawa and their fans that is. You had never seen the team so happy. Your fellow fourth years in particular had been especially joyous, but no one seemed happier or had bigger smiles on their faces than Oikawa and Iwaizumi. You knew how badly they wanted to defeat Ushijima and his team and you were so happy that they had been able to achieve their goal before graduating.
That had been three days ago and why this party was taking place. They waited until Friday to throw the party so that everyone could have the weekend to recover from the raucous celebration.
You weren’t much of a party person yourself but you wanted to celebrate with the team, one member in particular, and you had been invited by said member. Iwaizumi himself had invited you, your lab partner and the man you’d fallen hard for. The two of you were friends, not super close or anything but you had been lab partners for the last two years and now this year as well. You just always seemed to find yourselves in the same classes and since you’d both gotten A’s the first time you’d partnered up you figured you might as well continue to do so. You had gotten along and worked well together and you had been successful each time, all A’s so far.
That was how you ended up falling for him. Being partners resulted in the two of you spending a good amount of time together working on projects and you’d gotten to know each other fairly well. It’s how you knew just how much this victory had meant to him and his best friend.
Now here you were at the party primarily because there was no way you’d turn down an invitation from Hajime Iwaizumi. You finish your drink and order another as you scan the crowd. You’d only caught a brief glimpse of the man of your dreams earlier before more people had gone over to him. Congratulating him, you supposed.
You take your drink. What was this? Number 4? Number 5? You shrug. Regardless of the number you were feeling the effects of the alcohol on your system. You weren’t wasted but you were certainly more than buzzed. I’ll drink water after this one, you decide to yourself as you sit down on a nearby couch and crowd watch.
You wonder if you‘ll even get to talk to Iwa at this point. It’s still early though as you find out when you check your phone for the time. It was 9:30pm, the party had started at 8pm and you were sure it would continue all night. It was a good thing that this dorm only housed the team otherwise there surely would have been complaints.
You continue looking around, sipping on your drink as you let your thoughts wander to Iwa. He was a sweet guy. A little serious and sometimes a bit tough, though that seemed to be primarily focused on Oikawa, but he was kind, caring, and smart as well. Your feelings weren’t just purely innocent with him either. He was hot, those sculpted muscular arms alone were enough to make you drool and you bet that the rest of his body was just as drool worthy if not more so. He had been the star of your fantasies a countless number of times as you lay naked on your bed pleasuring yourself. Oh how you wanted to see what he was hiding under those clothes of his.
You were stirred from your thoughts by the rattle of the ice in your now empty cup that you had just taken the final sip from. You place it down onto the table next to you. Maybe it would be better if you didn’t get to speak to Iwa because alcohol had a way of making you say things that you normally wouldn’t, even if they were true. And right now all your brain seemed to want to focus on was how the taut muscles of his abdomen would feel under your hands or just how big his cock might be. Alcohol also tended to make you a little horny, ok maybe a lot.
Yeah, probably better if you don’t talk to him. You wouldn’t want to embarrass yourself, you’d still have to see him again after this night was over. Still, imagining him sweaty and leaning over you while he pounded into your aching pussy had you rubbing your thighs together.
You need water, time to start sobering yourself up before you do something you’ll regret later.
Before you could get up to go get that water, however, you spot the one person that you at the same time want to see but also don’t. And yet you couldn’t stop yourself from calling out to him.
“Hey Iwa!” You yell as you wave at him, big dumb smile on your face.
Iwa spots you and heads over. He sits next to you on the couch, beer in hand and a smile of his own on his face.
“Hey, here you are, I’ve been looking for you.” He tells you.
“You have?”
“Yeah I wasn’t sure if you’d show up, especially since I know parties aren’t really your thing.”
“Aww, you remembered me telling you that? You’re so sweet.” Damn do I love this man, you think before you continue. “Of course I’m here, you invited me. So naturally I was going to show up.”
You shift in your seat, bending your one leg and bringing it up onto the couch, the other one crossed over it with your foot on the floor so that you can face Iwa more properly.
“Are you having a good time?”
“I am now that you’re here.” You say as you put your hand on his firm bicep, flirtatious smile on your face.
“Well I’m sorry it took me so long to find you then.” He laughs.
“That’s ok, you’re here now.” You gaze into his eyes. “You know, you have really pretty eyes.”
“Thank you. I like your eyes too. They’re beautiful.”
You feel your face heat up at the compliment as the alcohol in your system encourages you to keep talking even though you normally wouldn’t and probably shouldn’t.
“I like you Iwa.”
“I like you too, but just call me Hajime. I keep telling you to.”
“No Iwa, sorry Hajime. I really like you a lot, love you even.” You confess.
Iwa’s eyes widen.
“Are you drunk?”
“No, no. Ok maybe a little but I mean it.”
“Let me go get you some water, I’ll be right back.” He smiles.
“Ok, but hurry.” You pout as he gets up to get you that water.
Tumblr media
That pout of yours had him twitching in his pants as he went to retrieve you a bottle of water. How did you make it look so fucking sexy? He’d be lying if he said he didn’t find you attractive because he did. You’re beautiful as well as sweet and kind. He’d also be lying if he said it didn’t please him to hear your confession. Truth be told he thought you had a thing for Oikawa, you were always staring when the two of them were together. So does that mean you were actually staring at him then? Had you stared at him other times and he just hadn’t noticed?
He thought nothing could make him happier than having beaten Ushiwaka and Shiratorizawa but if you felt the same way as him, well that would be a whole different level of happiness. The fact was that he’d had a crush on you from the start, just something about you drew him in. The more time he’d spend with you and the more he’d gotten to know you had made his crush evolve into something more. He likes you a lot, loves you even to use the words you had just said to him. He wanted to ask you to be his but he thought you liked Oikawa so he wasn’t going to get in the way but now with this new information maybe he should ask you.
Of course you were drunk and even though you said that you meant it, he couldn’t know for sure. You’d most likely forget what you said by the next morning anyway so he wouldn’t get his hopes up. For now he would just revel in your words and touch but not take anything too seriously. He grabs you a bottle of water and a plate with some food for good measure since he wasn’t sure if you’d eaten yet and heads back over to you.
Tumblr media
Iwa hands you the bottle of water as you finish the contents of a small plastic cup. He sits next to you once again.
“What was that?”
“A jello shot and it was cherry too. Do you want a taste? The flavor is still in my mouth.” You smirk.
“Don’t tempt me. You’re lucky I’m a gentleman.”
“But I really don’t mind if you want to be a bad boy tonight.”
He shakes his head and chuckles.
“Sorry I’m only on my second beer so I’m not drunk.”
“Aww.” You pout again. “Maybe you should try drinking some more then.”
You put your hand back on his arm and run it up and down, squeezing the hard muscles every now then. Fuck does he feel good. And that’s just his arm, you think to yourself.
Iwa just shakes his head once more, gaze briefly breaking from your eyes before returning to them.
You wonder what’s going through his mind. You could swear he looked at your lips just now like he wanted to kiss you, but maybe that was just the alcohol and wishful thinking talking.
“I brought you some food too, you haven’t eaten anything yet have you?” He places the plate on your leg that you still have resting on the couch,
“You’re so hot and sweet and caring and thoughtful and hot, oh wait I said that already.” You laugh as you stare dreamily into Iwa’s eyes.
He just smiles at you.
You eat some food from the plate you were given. It had all your favorite things on it. How does he even know that? You think as you find yourself struck once again by how much you love this man sitting beside you. You eat a little more before you continue your ramblings.
“Seriously, you’re the greatest guy. You’re smart and kind and talented. And did I mention hot?”
“Yeah, I think you might have.” He says with a laugh.
“Right, well you are. I bet you’re super popular with the ladies.” You feel a pang in your chest at the thought of all the girls that must flirt with him.
“Nah, Oikawa is the one with the fan girls which is fine with me. I don’t have the patience for that shit.”
“Well they’re missing out then. But that’s ok because it just means that I could be your girl. I promise I’d take really good care of you.”
Tumblr media
He really shouldn’t be thinking what he was at this moment, not when you were being so cute and sweet, but he couldn’t help himself. You were so close to him and you were just so perfect for him. Yeah I’d like to take really good care of you too babygirl, he thinks to himself as his eyes dart to your breasts and then back to your face. He licks his lips before shaking the dirty thoughts away and takes a sip of his beer.
“I’m sure you would.” He says with a smile. “Too bad you’ll forget about all of this by the morning.” He adds under his breath.
You tilt your head to the side.
“What was that?”
“Nothing. Drink your water and make sure you eat some more too.”
“Oh Hajime, the way you’re doting on me and taking care of me is just making me fall harder for you. Unfair.” You say with another little pout before eating more food.
Unfair is right, he thinks. You had no idea what that pout of yours was doing to him. He wanted nothing more than to bite that bottom lip of yours before kissing you breathless. Oh how he wished you weren’t drunk right now, that he knew you meant every word you’d said, that you really wanted him as badly as he wanted you, and that he could take you and make you his. But you were drunk and he would never take advantage of you like that. He would never do that to anyone but especially not to someone he cared about.
He feels you rub up and down his arm again.
“Your arms are so sexy, strong, and toned. I bet the rest of you is too.” You give him a suggestive smile.
Yeah and the things I could do to you with them, he thinks before smirking at you. No. He had to stop these thoughts before his pants got tighter.
“I bet you could toss me around with those strong arms of yours, fold me into whatever position you wanted. Or just pin me down to the bed and fuck me into the mattress.”
Well, he hadn’t expected you to say something like that. He was seeing a whole new side of you and he was liking it. I guess I’m not the only one who’s thought things like that. It made him hopeful. Perhaps you did mean everything you were saying, only time would tell. But now thanks to the visual your words supplied, he felt his cock stiffen. He tries to think about something else to get the situation back under control but your words aren’t helping him in the slightest.
“You must have at least a six pack. I would love to map out the grooves of those abs with my tongue.” You lean in closer to him with heavy lidded eyes and a lust blown stare. “I can only imagine how big your cock is too. I bet it would stretch me out and fill me up so perfectly.”
Well shit. He shifts a bit in his seat as he feels himself harden more.
Practically moaning into his ear, you continue talking filth.
“Pin me down and fuck me from behind, pound into my pussy before flipping me over and putting me into a mating press so you can get deep, deeeep inside of me and then fill me up with—“
“Ok time to get you back to your room so you can sleep it off.” Iwa says, cutting you off.
Holy fuck. He wanted nothing more than to fulfill your every sexual request. But the effects of that were making it difficult for him to hide his growing erection and he knew he had to get himself and you out of there before it became too apparent.
“Did you bring anything with you?”
You shake your head no.
He stands up and you follow, stumbling slightly and falling into him. He catches you against his chest and breathes in the pretty floral scent of your perfume which does not help with his current dilemma. He puts an arm around your waist to keep you steady and begins walking you through the crowd towards the door. He loves the feel of your body pressed against his, he must admit, but now was not the time for that. He is stirred from his thoughts by a familiar voice.
“Hey Iwa-chan, where are you going? It’s only 11pm.” Oikawa calls out to him as he walks by. “Oh I see.” His friend continues as he looks at you clinging to Iwa and Iwa’s arm around your waist.
“Good for you Iwa-chan.” He says with a smirk.
“Oh shut up trashykawa, I’m just taking her back to her room so she can sleep it off.”
“Do you even know where her room is? She doesn’t look like she’s in any fit state to tell you.”
Shit. Oikawa was right, he didn’t know where your room was.
“Don’t worry about it.” He tells his friend as he leads you away.
“I guess there’s only one thing I can do then.” He says to himself as he changes direction from the door to the stairs.
He helps you go up the stairs as you are still unsteady on your feet but it’s proving to be a bit more difficult than he originally anticipated and your destination is on the third floor. So he puts his strong arms, and everything else, to use and picks you up.
“Ooh, are you going to throw me on the bed and have your way with me? Because I’m ok with that.”
“If only.” Iwa says with a chuckle.
He reaches his door, opens it, and sets you down onto his bed.
“Just get some sleep, you’ll be back to normal in the morning.”
“But that’s no fun.” You give him that pout once again.
He lets out a groan as he feels his dick get harder. Damn he wanted you so fucking badly, but he would never take advantage of you. He could have a kiss though, surely that would be ok, right? He really wanted to feel your soft lips pressed against his just once before you forgot all the sweet and filthy things you’d said to him tonight. He smiles at you.
“What if I give you a kiss? Will you get some sleep then?”
Your eyes light up and you smile.
Fuck, she’s so beautiful, he thinks. He likes you even more than he thought, no, he was definitely in love with you.
“Ok but only if it’s on the lips and you have to lay with me.”
“You drive a hard bargain but ok.” Even harder than he would let you realize, he shifts trying to conceal his erection.
He takes off the hoodie that he’s wearing revealing the tank he has on underneath, his sexy arms on full display and the fabric clinging to his defined pecs and abs. He sits next to you on the bed and puts the hoodie on his lap to hide the effects that your words and actions have had on him.
“Holy shit! I thought you wanted me to go to sleep. And then you show me this? Are you trying to tease me to death?” You say with a laugh.
Iwa laughs to himself. He was teasing you? You’d been teasing him all night.
You reach out and rub your hands over both of his arms simultaneously. You bite your bottom lip and he feels his cock react. Fuck that was even sexier than the pout, a groan escapes him as he stares at your lips.
“Are you sure you don’t want to fuck me into the mattress?” You smirk.
If only you knew how fucking badly he wanted to do exactly that.
“Do you want the kiss or not?”
“Well I’d like more than that but yes I want the kiss.”
He leans in and you wrap your arms around his neck and pull him to you crashing your lips against his.
Your lips feel even better against his than he imagined, so soft and perfect. Lips made to kiss his and no one else’s. Before it can get too heated, however, he pulls away knowing he might lose control of the situation if he doesn’t.
“Ok now lay down.”
You do so and he lays down next to you. You snuggle up to him and grab onto his arm. After a few minutes he feels you relax against him, sees the slow even rise and fall of your chest and figures you must be asleep. He takes out his phone and looks at the time, 11:53pm. Now what was he going to do? He couldn’t just leave you here alone, not even to take care of his problem. If you woke up while he was gone you might be disoriented or worse someone might find their way into the room and take advantage of your sleeping form. He knew his teammates wouldn’t but there were a lot of people in the dorm currently and he didn’t know all of them.
He briefly considers just taking care of it right there with you holding onto his arm and sleeping peacefully beside him but decides against it. He doesn’t want to risk waking you up. He looks over at your sleeping face awash in the warm glow of the desk light on the table next to him. He gently brushes the hair that had fallen onto your face behind your ear. I could get used to waking up to her every morning. Maybe I’ll just ask her to be mine when she wakes up, he thinks to himself. A tender smile comes to his face as he watches you before turning his attention back to the ceiling.
He decides to take a nap himself in the hopes that he might be able to calm down some while he sleeps. But with you holding onto his arm, the warmth of your body against his side, and the pleasant floral scent of you surrounding him he wonders if it will help at all. Regardless, he soon finds himself drifting off beside you.
Tumblr media
You begin to stir and your eyes flutter open. Gray light filters in through the window and you decide that you could get more sleep, you feel too safe, warm, and comfortable to get up anyway. You snuggle into the warm body beside you and close your eyes.
Wait. Warm body? Your eyes snap open and you pop up into a seated position as the previous events come rushing back to you. This also causes you to acknowledge the dull throbbing of your head. You figure you got lucky that it wasn’t worse with all the alcohol that you had drank.
Yeah but that was also because I had Iwa taking care of me, you think to yourself.
You look over to the warm body and are met with Iwa’s beautiful eyes fixed upon you.
“Good morning sunshine.” He says with a little smile before reaching over and opening the mini fridge next to the bed.
He takes out a bottle of water and hands it to you.
“Here, drink this.”
You take the bottle from him and take a gulp.
“I’m so sorry you had to leave the party and take care of me. I’m sure you wanted to celebrate more with Oikawa and the rest of your team.”
“It’s ok, I celebrated enough. I didn’t mind taking care of you.”
You smile at him. Fuck how is he so damn perfect and how is it possible that he keeps making me fall for him even more.
“You’re so sweet. Thank you.”
“How are you feeling?” He asks you before teasingly adding, “Do you even remember the party?”
“Yes I remember.” You stick your tongue out at him and take another gulp of water. “I have a dull headache but otherwise I feel ok. Probably because you did such a good job taking care of me.”
“Good I’m glad. Not only did I not mind but I actually kind of liked taking care of you.” Iwa says with a sweet smile on his lips.
Oh those lips, you remembered how they felt pressed against yours and you wanted nothing more than to kiss him again.
“So if you remember, then does that mean you remember what you said to me at the party?”
“You mean when I told you that I was in love with you? Yes.”
“Did you actually mean it?”
Now or never, you think to yourself before swallowing down another drink of water and then setting the bottle on the table.
“Yeah I did. I liked you from the start Iwa, I mean Hajime, and I’ve been in love with you for over a year now.”
You glance away as you feel your face heat up with your confession before looking back at his face and finding him looking a bit surprised. What is he thinking? You think to yourself as time seems to drag on waiting for him to respond.
He sits up and blinks a few times, the two of you close together and facing each other on the bed.
“So you really do feel the same way I do then?” He says, more to himself than you.
“Yes. Wait. You feel the same?”
A smile spreads across his face.
“Yeah, but I thought you liked Oikawa otherwise I would have already asked you out.”
“Oikawa? I mean he is pretty, but I think you’re prettier. So no it’s you, always has been.”
Iwa feels his cheeks warm a bit at your compliment. You think he’s prettier than Oikawa? He feels his smile grow bigger.
“In that case, do you want to be my girl? You did say you wanted to be last night and that you’d take really good care of me, right?”
“Yeah I did. Of course I want to be your girl, Hajime. Nothing would make me happier.” You give him a big smile.
“What if I give you a kiss then?”
“Yes, but only if it’s on the lips.” You say with a laugh as you remember the kiss from before and how it came about.
Iwa laughs a bit and leans in. He gently presses his lips against yours before swiping his tongue along the seam of your lips. You open up enough to give him access and he slips his tongue into your mouth. He sensuously caresses your tongue with his own as you explore each other’s mouths. He puts one of those strong arms around your waist and pulls you against him. You place one hand on his muscular chest as your other travels down to his abs where you begin feeling the taut muscles through the material of his tank.
The kiss becomes more heated as your tongues continue to caress each other. You wrap your arms around his neck, one of your hands finding its way into his surprisingly soft hair. He pulls you even closer, arm still around your waist as his other hand makes its way down onto your hip, his thumb massaging small circles into the flesh there.
With a little bite to your bottom lip, he breaks the kiss. You find yourself breathless, little pants escaping you as you catch your breath.
“I’ve wanted to do that since the party last night.” He says with a chuckle.
You smile at him as your breath begins to even out.
“What? Leave me breathless? Mission accomplished then. Oh and you can do that whenever you like too.”
“Don’t worry, I will.” He smirks. “So do you remember what else you said to me last night?”
Oh do I, you think, but I’m not going to admit to that it’d be too embarrassing.
“You mean when I told you that you were hot and had sexy arms? Because yes I do and both of those statements are also true.”
“Good to know, but that wasn’t what I was talking about.”
Oh I know. You decide to feign innocence and hope he believes you so you furrow your brow like you’re confused.
“No? Did I say something else?” You think you’ve successfully pulled it off until you see a devilish smirk grace Iwa’s kissable lips. Still, you keep your expression neutral.
“So you don’t remember,” he places a kiss against your lips, “saying how you wondered how big my cock is?” He kisses along your jaw. “Or how it would feel stretching you out?”
He starts kissing along the column of your neck, smirking against your skin when a little moan escapes you.
“Um, no?” You say as innocently as possible even though you can feel warmth creep up your neck.
He starts licking, sucking, and biting a trail down your neck, little gasps and moans falling from your lips at his ministrations.
“No? Ok. So what about when you said you wanted me to use my strong sexy arms to toss you onto the bed and then fuck you into the mattress?”
At this point you feel your cheeks growing hotter as Iwa continues sucking and biting, leaving his mark on you for everyone to see. You still won’t give in though, you always have been a bit stubborn.
“Sorry I don’t remember saying anything like that.” You say as you feel yourself becoming more and more aroused.
“Hmm, that’s too bad. Ok I know you must remember this though.” He kisses his way up to your ear and licks the shell of it before nibbling on it causing you to let out a sinful moan.
“What’s that?” You say breathily.
He lets out a chuckle and then whispers into your ear in a sexy tone.
“When you said you wanted me to pin you down and fuck you from behind, pounding into your pussy before…”
He nips at your earlobe hard and you moan louder feeling your arousal pool in your lower belly as your panties and leggings get wetter.
“flipping you over and putting you into a mating press so that I can get deep deeeep inside of you and then fill you up with my—“
“Ok, ok. I remember.” You cut him off.
Iwa just smirks at you.
“Yeah I know you do.” He kisses back down to your neck and onto your collarbone. You tilt your head to give him better access as he leaves even more marks in his wake.
“Ahh, you like marking me up don’t you?”
“Well I have to make sure everyone knows that you’re taken now.” He bites down on your sweet spot and you groan. “That you’re all mine. And besides I don’t hear you complaining.”
“My only complaint is that we’re still dressed.” You say before quickly stripping yourself bare.
He lets out a moan at the sight of your naked body and follows your lead. He rids himself of his clothes, his hard cock slapping against his delicious abs.
You subconsciously lick your lips and give him a wicked grin.
“Looks like I was right about you having a huge cock.”
He just smirks at you before beginning his assault on your newly bared breasts. He nips and sucks at the soft flesh of one while his hand focuses on the other. He takes your hardened peak into his mouth, sucking and massaging it with his tongue.
Your hands find their way into his hair as you throw back your head in pleasure, you tug a bit at the strands which causes him to let out another little moan of his own. Soon he switches sides and lavishes your other soft breast in the same attention as the first.
You let one of your hands leave his hair and travel down his chest and abs, lightly dragging your nails along them before reaching his cock and giving it a few strokes. Iwa removes his mouth from your breast and bites down onto your shoulder, a deep moan bubbling up from his throat as you stroke him. You let out a few moans and pants of your own.
“You know I’m not the only one that people need to know is taken, right?”
“Oh is that so?” He chuckles.
“Yeah, I can’t have anybody else thinking they have a shot at getting you. So now,” you push him down so he is laying on his back and straddle him, “it’s my turn.” You say with a devious smirk.
He just raises an eyebrow, eyes glued to your dripping folds as you make your move. You press your pussy against the underside of his rock hard length, your lower lips parting allowing you to surround him in your wet warmth. You start gliding up and down his cock, coating him in your slick as copious amounts continue to drip from your hole.
“Oh fuck.” Iwa loudly groans as you continue to slide up and down his length.
You lean down, never stopping the rhythm of your hips, and kiss his lips before descending onto his neck. You lick, suck, and bite at the tender skin present there, making sure to leave your own visible marks. A loud moan escapes his mouth as you find his sweet spot and you begin sucking and biting down in earnest.
“Oh shit! Fuck!”
“Oh you like that do you?”
“Yeah I do.” He says as you leave another mark.
“Now everyone will see these and know you’re mine. I hope that won’t be a problem.” You smirk.
“It won’t be a problem at all, I want them to know. But now I hope you’re ready for the consequences of your actions.”
You raise an eyebrow as you look into his lust darkened eyes.
“What?”
“Well you’ve gotten me all worked up now, just like last night, and now I’m going to give you exactly what you asked for babygirl.”
You smile and you feel your pussy clench at the name. Before you can fully process his words, however, he has you flipped over with your face in the pillow, one hand pinning your chest to the mattress and the other gripping your hip hard. Aided by the large amounts of your slick, he easily glides into you despite his impressive girth and size.
“Oh fuuck Hajime.” You groan at the feeling of him stretching you and leaving you completely full. You were right about that too, he filled you up perfectly.
He pauses only for a moment or two before he starts thrusting into you, wet squelching sounds heard with each movement of his hips.
“Fuck! You feel so tight, the way you’re gripping my cock like that.” A loud rumbling moan comes from his chest and he gives your ass a slap causing your pussy to clench harder around his fat cock.
“Ungh, you’re making me feel so good, give me more.” You say with a deep moan.
“Whatever my babygirl wants.” He increases his force and speed, the sound of flesh slapping against flesh growing louder in volume within the small dorm room.
“Oh yesss!” You cry out as you brace yourself against the headboard. He digs his fingers into your hip harder as he continues his animalistic pace, you’ll have bruises there but you don’t mind it in the least.
“Uh ahh, I’m close.”
“Not yet babygirl, not yet.”
He pulls out of you which makes you whimper at the feeling of emptiness, your pussy fluttering around nothing. But it doesn’t last long as he flips you over again so that this time you’re on your back. He smirks down at you as you look up at him with heavy lidded eyes and flushed cheeks.
“Gotta get deep inside you and fill you up with my cum, right? That is what you asked for.”
You give him a blissed out smile and nod as he lines himself up with your entrance and plunges inside. You let out a happy little shriek at the feeling of him being inside of you once more.
“I’m going to give you exactly what you want then babygirl, just relax. I’ll make you feel really good.”
He lifts your legs onto his shoulders and then leans over you, sweat glistening on his face and the warmth of his body heat radiating onto you, as he presses your knees to your chest. He establishes a rough but steady pace. The new angle letting him get even deeper, seemingly bottoming out with each snap of his hips. Every thrust has him rubbing against that sweet spot deep inside you making you see stars.
Your peak approaches even more quickly than before.
“Fuck, I’m so close Hajime. Harder, faster, you feel so fucking good!” You cry out.
He obliges your request and slams in and out of you with wild abandon. You grab onto his arms as you reach your unraveling. You scratch your nails down his biceps, your eyes rolling back as your orgasm crashes over you leaving white spots dotting your vision.
You scream out his name and feel your walls milk his cock for every last drop.
Iwa lets out his own strangled cry, as he too reaches his end, shooting rope after rope of his hot cum deep inside you filling you up entirely.
He waits for his cock to stop twitching inside you before gently pulling out of you. He lays next to you and you cuddle up to him. He wraps his arms around you as you rest your arm across his waist. He gives you a sweet and tender little kiss to your lips as the two of you catch your breath.
“Are you ok? I wasn’t too rough, was I?”
“Mmm yeah I’m ok, I’m a little sore and I might walk a little funny for the next couple of days but that was amazing. You’re amazing. You gave me everything I wanted and more.”
“Anything for you babygirl. You’re all mine now.” He says with an adoring smile.
He gives you a lingering kiss to your lips, loving and soft.
“I love you Hajime.” You say as you rest your head on his chest.
“I love you too, my beautiful girl.”

Date Night
Y/n had been have a rough time at work, so Frankie plans a special night out.
Pairings: Frankie Morales x Reader
Word count: 2.6k
Warnings: Mostly fluff, some angst (light, stressed about work, nerves, nothing crazy)
This is something I’ve always wanted to do. Just need to get a boyfriend and a truck with an open bed. So, just two things.
Y/n had been struggling at work lately and Frankie could see the exhaustion in her face. She had been coming home late every night for two weeks, working on a project that was supposed to be done Friday. Though she wasn’t talking much about the stress, he knew it was a matter of time before it was going to overwhelm her.
It was ten at night on Thursday when Y/n came home from work. She felt the weight of the world on her shoulders. The project she had been working on was due to be finished the next day and she couldn’t wait for it to be done. She saw Frankie sitting on the couch, watching a show. He turned to her as she walked into the room. Seeing how tired she was, he just opened his arms and she climbed onto his lap and hugged him.
“You okay?” Frankie asked as he rubbed circles on Y/n’s back.
“I will be when this project is done tomorrow. I’m so tired,” she mumbled into his neck. She was as close to him as she could be, finding comfort in being in his arms.
“What do you say we feed you, because I’m assuming you skipped dinner again, and then we can go to bed?”
“I’m too tired to eat. I’ll eat breakfast. I just want to go to bed with you. I’m assuming Izzy is asleep already?” Y/n asked about Frankie’s daughter. Y/n and Frankie started dating when Isabella was 9 months old and her mother was no longer in the picture. At 4 years old, Isabella was a little spitfire. She had Frankie and Y/n wrapped around her little fingers. Y/n felt guilty for not being around as much the past few weeks and she missed spending time with Izzy.
“Yeah. She tried to stay up and wait for you, but fell asleep about an hour and a half ago.”
“Damn.” Y/n felt herself start to break down. Her tears started to fall onto Frankie’s neck.
“It’s okay. She doesn’t quite understand  what you’ve been dealing with, but she knows you love her.”
“It’s not okay. That little girl means the world to me and I’ve barely been around for weeks. How would she know I love her when she never sees me?” Y/n started to cry harder.
“Hey, look at me,” Frankie said as he shifted Y/n so she was looking into his face. “She knows because you make her lunch every day and you draw the little cartoons and pictures for her to enjoy. She knows they’re from you. And your late hours aren’t going to last much longer. Tomorrow the project is done. Why don’t you come home early, we can do dinner with Izzy. I’ll call Pope to come over and then you and me can go out for a bit. He’s always happy to watch her.”
“I should be done by 3.”
“Come home right after that then. It’s Friday and you’ve put in more than enough hours over the past few weeks. Start your weekend early. I’m off until Tuesday anyways.” Frankie stroked the side of Y/n’s face. She leaned into his touch and looked at him with watery eyes.
“I’m so lucky to have you.”
“I’m the lucky one, Hermosa. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Be perfectly fine because you have Izzy.”
“I wouldn’t be fine. I love Izzy, obviously, but you make our family complete. You’re always doing things to make sure we know how much you love us. You bring so much light into our lives. We’d be lost without you.”
“You’re gonna make me cry again,” Y/n sniffed. She moved forward and kissed Frankie. “Let’s go to bed, my love.”
Y/n moved to get off Frankie and helped him stand up. After making sure everything was turned off or locked, they made their way to the bedroom. After brushing their teeth and getting changed, they climbed into bed, Y/n snuggling close to Frankie.
“I love you, Frankie.” Y/n sighed as she got comfortable.
“I love you, too.” Frankie kissed Y/n’s brow. They fell asleep in each other’s arms.
The next day, while Y/n was at work, Frankie called Pope to see if he could watch Izzy.
“Of course, Fish. I never turn down time with Izzy. Do you need to me to sleep over?” Pope said over the phone. Frankie was in the kitchen, assembling snacks for his plans for Y/n that night. Izzy was on the floor next to him, coloring.
“Probably. I’m going to take Y/n out in the truck to that area where we can watch the stars. I’m going to fill up the bed with blankets and pillows and we’re just gonna lay out there. It’s supposed to be clear tonight.”
“You know, this would be the perfect time to give her that ring,” Pope suggested. Frankie had made the decision to propose to Y/n, wanting to say vows in front of their friends and family that he intended to spend the rest of his life with her.
“I was thinking that too. Which is why I’m asking you to plan to spend the night. Then we can hopefully go out for a celebratory breakfast tomorrow.”
“There’s no way she’ll say anything other than yes, Fish. She loves you and Izzy.”
“I know she loves us and we’ve talked about marriage, but I’m still nervous.”
“It’ll be fine. And I think she’ll love your surprise for her. So, what time should be I over?
“Well, Y/n is coming home early. Why don’t you come around 5ish and we can all eat dinner together? Y/n loves seeing you too.”
Izzy held up the picture she had drawn. “Look, Daddy!”
Frankie smiled at his daughter. “That’s beautiful, Izzy. Who is it for?”
“Mommy!” Izzy smiled up at her dad.
“She’s going to love it. Your Uncle Pope is going to be coming over later. Why don’t you draw something for him next?”
“Yay, Uncle Pope!” Izzy quickly grabbed another piece of paper from the stack Frankie had put next to her to draw on.
“She’s going to draw something for me?” Pope almost sounded as excited as Izzy.
“She does love you.” Frankie laughed.
“Well, I’m her favorite.”
“I think Y/n is her favorite.”
“Fair. I’m her favorite uncle, then.”
“I’ll give you that. So, I’ll see you around 5?”
“Need me to bring anything?”
“Nah. I’m just going to order in some food. I’ll see you later.”
“Later.”
Frankie ended the call and turned to his daughter. She was happily drawing her picture for Pope. “Izzy, what do you say we move all this to the living room and wait for Mommy to get home?”
“Okay, Daddy.” Izzy picked up her paper and the crayons she was using. Frankie grabbed the rest of the art supplies, putting the picture Izzy did for Y/n on the kitchen counter, and the two made their way into the living room. After he got Izzy settled, Frankie ran around and grabbed as many blankets and pillows as he could to toss into the bed of his truck. He also blew up the air mattress and got it placed, so they would be comfortable. Y/n had mentioned wanting to do this for some time, but they just hadn’t made it happen yet. Frankie was determined to give her a night to always remember.
Around 4, Y/n came through the door with a tired smile. The project was done without any problems. Her boss had let her leave early and told her to take Monday off as well as a reward for all her hard work. “Hello?” she called out as she toed off her shoes.
“Living room!” Frankie could be heard.
Y/n smiled and walked over to where Frankie and Izzy were sitting on the couch, watching Izzy’s favorite show. Frankie nudged Izzy, who looked up and saw Y/n. She smiled widely and jumped up.
“Mommy!” Izzy ran over to Y/n and wrapped her arms around Y/n’s legs.
“Hi, Baby! Did you have a good day?” Y/n reached down and stroked the top of Izzy’s head.
“The best! I drew you and Uncle Pope pictures and Daddy and I watched some movies.”
“That sounds like a great day.” Y/n smiled at Frankie as she picked up Izzy. She made her way over to the couch and sat next to Frankie with Izzy being settled between them.
“Hi,” Y/n said, looking at Frankie with smile.
“Hi.” Frankie leaned over and gave Y/n a quick kiss. “Good day?”
“Yeah. Project’s done and I’m off til Tuesday. Jack gave me Monday off in recognition of my hard work.”
“Good. So, what shall we order for dinner?” Frankie slung his arm across the back of the couch, his hand reaching forward to stroke Y/n’s shoulder. “Pope will be here for dinner.”
“So, pizza?”
“Pizza works. I’ll call in a little bit.”
Y/n stood up from the couch. Frankie looked at her quizzically. “I’m going to change. What are we doing later?”
“It’s a surprise. Just dress comfortable, that’s all I’m going to give you.”
“So jeans?”
“Jeans and tshirt works,” Frankie confirmed.
“Perfect. After having to put in extra hours and wearing nothing but professional clothes, I’m happy to be casual. I’ll be back.”
While Y/n was getting changed, he called the pizza in. Pope got there around the same time as the pizza. After dinner, Frankie and Y/n hung around for a little bit longer. Y/n was getting caught up on what was going on in Pope’s life. While they were talking, Frankie made a thermos a hot chocolate. When he was done, he walked over to where everyone was sitting.
“Ready to go, Y/n?”
Y/n looked up at him with a smile. “Let’s go.” She turned to Izzy. “You be good for your Uncle Pope, Izzy, okay?”
“I will, Mommy.” Izzy moved closer to Pope and hugged him. “I’m always good for Uncle Pope,” she said, innocently.
The adults started laughing. Y/n went and kissed Izzy’s head. “Love you, Izzy. We’ll see you in the morning.”
Frankie went over and gave Izzy a kiss goodbye. He looked at Pope. “I’d give some rules, but you ignore them anyways. Just don’t do anything too crazy.”
Pope smiled at them. “You know me well. Have a fun night, you two.”
Frankie led Y/n to his truck, distracting her from looking in the back. He had loaded up the blankets and snacks shortly before she got home. He was happy she didn’t notice the blankets missing from in the house. Frankie put a blindfold over Y/n’s eyes.
“I want this to be a surprise.”
“This doesn’t end with you killing me and dumping my body in a forest, does it?” Y/n asked with a smile. She didn’t need to see him to know Frankie was giving her an unimpressed look.
Frankie sighed. “You’d think I would anticipate your jokes by now, Hermosa. But no, I’m not going to kill you.”
Frankie put the truck into drive and directed the truck towards the field he was taking her to. It was about a 45 minute drive, well outside city limits, so that they would have a clear view of the sky. Thankfully, the weather channel was right about the weather and the skies were absolutely clear. When he got to the field, he put the truck in park and had Y/n stay seated while he set up the blankets and pillows. After everything was set up to his satisfaction, Frankie felt in his pocket for the ring and took a big sigh. He helped Y/n out of the truck and then gently removed the blindfold.
“I thought we could look at the stars,” Frankie said, gesturing to the bed of the truck and to the sky.
Y/n felt her eyes tear up. “Frankie, this is perfect!” She moved her arms around his torso and pulled him close. “I’ve always wanted to do this.”
“I remember us talking about it once. I thought this would be a good way to wind down after the stressful weeks you’ve had.”
“It is. Thank you.”
Frankie led her to the back of the truck and let the tailgate down. He helped her jump up on the bed and she got settled on the air mattress. Frankie followed her up and closed the tailgate. The night had a bit of a chill to it, making the blankets a perfect addition. Frankie and Y/n were propped up against the back with the pillows, so they could sit up while drinking the hot chocolate Frankie made. They talked about everything and nothing, at some point just being quiet while looking up at the stars. The silence was comfortable and Y/n hadn’t felt this relaxed or happy in weeks.
“I love you, Frankie,” Y/n whispered, not wanting to disturb the peace they had created for themselves. Her eyes stayed on the stars and she had a soft smile on her lips.
Frankie shifted, reaching into his pocket for the ring. This was the moment he had been waiting for. He felt his heartbeat pick up pace and his palms started to get sweatier. He cleared his throat and looked down at Y/n. Y/n felt the nerves radiating off him and looked at him questioningly.
“I love you, too, Y/n,” Frankie rushed out, realizing he hadn’t responded to her in a few moments. He fumbled with the ring in his hands, trying to not let Y/n see it until he had asked her his question. “There’s actually something I want to ask you.”
“You can ask me anything, Frankie.”
“I, uh, I…” Frankie had prepared a whole speech, but in the moment, his nerves got the better of him.
“Take your time.” Y/n reached up and stroked the side of Frankie’s face. She smiled at him encouragingly.
Frankie covered her hand with his own, the ring in his other hand. He took a steadying breath and smiled down at her.
“You are the light of my life. When we met, I didn’t think I deserved another chance at a relationship. I had Izzy and I thought that would be all I could ever have. I don’t know what I did to deserve someone as amazing as you, but I’m so glad I did it. You are my best friend and you have become the mother of my child. You brought love into our lives and I couldn’t be more thankful for you.”
Y/n started to tear up at his sweet words. “I’m the lucky one,” she said softly. She didn’t want to interrupt Frankie, but she couldn’t hold in her feelings.
Frankie smile at her. “Y/f/n, would you do me the honor of marrying me and officially adopting Izzy? You are her mother in every way that matters and nothing would make me happier than to be your husband.”
Y/n couldn’t stop the tears falling down her cheeks. She pulled Frankie into a heated kiss. She smiled at them as they broke apart.
“Is that a yes?”
Y/n let out a watery laugh. “Of course, it’s a yes. I would love to be your wife and Izzy’s mom. Are you sure you want to go through the adoption process?”
“Yes. Izzy already clearly considers you her mother. I just want it to be legal.” Frankie took Y/n’s left hand and slid on the ring.
“Frankie,” Y/n said in awe. “It’s perfect. I love it.”
“I’m glad.” He pulled her close and kissed her. “You just made me the happiest man alive.”
“Well, as you just made me the happiest woman, I think we’re even.”
They settled into the blankets, holding each other. They spent the rest of the night out under the stars. Frankie texted Pope that they were going to camp out under the stars and that they would be having a celebratory breakfast in the morning.

Death
(ao3), belongs under Certain Moment of Time, could be read independently, just as each for the days will be shorts, but all together forming a whole picture
(As this is the last chapter within the 'Going Angst Week 2021', a little reminder about the right order in reading the chapters chronologically (I suggest CMOT link): 4, 6, 2, 5, 3, and 7, 1)
tw: miscarriage
---
Blood. One could say after seeing it many times, sensing its rusty, salty odour within the air might have lost the sensibility to it after a while. But it never ceased on the weight if it was about loss, about death.
Then it always changed to the horrible, suffocating disinfectant scent with the white surrounding and the sound of silent sobs. Just as this time. They didn't even dare to count for how many occasions they ended up here, broken and devastated.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry…" mumbled for like the thousand times the hollow voice. "It's all my fault, I shouldn't have- I shouldn't have-" the sentence trailed off by another chuckling, squeezing hard on his hand that was holding hers, never letting it go.
Every attempt, every hopeful try led back here and- and it just twisted his heart, seeing, again and again, the slightly greyishly paled skin that years ago was beaming. Years ago…
Suddenly the picture of the small child in her arms came back, like that could have been a mirage. Sadly, he was well aware it wasn't, that happened, but- what he had done wrong?
Vlad pressed his forehead on her, taking the same question that he was asking from himself during the past few years. Why he hadn't told her? It was the same damn question, but with a different meaning this time. Time… yes, that it was.
He clearly could remember the day in the hospital bed, staring at the black and white photograph, bringing for them good news again… and then he couldn't tell what had happened, but he had woken up with years of memories in his mind and- and then as he had sat up, holding his throbbing head someone put a hand on his shoulder, asking with the greatest concern if he was okay.
It had needed hours to understand it wasn't a dream, and by lunch – made by the most amazing woman on the Earth – his mind settled too.
As much weird it was, but this was the truth. Madeline Masters. His wife. Also aware of his state – that they, according to his new-old memories, together tried to keep at bay. He knew he lied to her about its seriousness. That she only was informed about the simply side-effects: floating, invisibility and intangibility, sometimes glowing hands – but she had no conscious about the rest, about the other form… (which learning from a memory surprised Vlad too).
He kept then on with that lie, just as with the other one too, that somehow, he remembered a time when everything was different.
It worked for years. To tell the truth, Vlad forgot everything after their first positive test, even after the second, or the third, but-
Then he didn't dare to count. He couldn't recall anymore the days when she was happy – except in that other life. He slowly was destroying her, breaking the sweet image of his love… He tried to tell her several times to give up, but as much as stubborn she was, like feeling she should have been a mother, she never listened.
Then he eventually had run some tests (surprisingly facing with the result wasn't even his worst day, because his worst day was now…). The accident in the lab, five years ago ruined his biology. It was his fault. Vlad had been on to tell her, several times really, that they- that they wouldn't ever have a child, but- but he had been afraid. He still was afraid. He was a coward, fearing to lose her, so then he never told her, but now…
"Daniel…" a hollow, weak breath was formed into a name. "I thought- I chose- I really thought this time…"
"It's okay…" Vlad whispered, fighting against the suffocating guilt.
Daniel… he almost could imagine a view of a boy with her kindness, smartness and maybe with his steel bright eyes, and-
A soft sniffling broke the silence in the room, he knew it would take days and weeks to calm her down (or months, especially that this time she really had hoped…). But then she would return to her obsessed determines, again, not giving up until she would be able to fight for it…
But Vlad couldn't watch it, not again. This time, it had endangered her life too. He just couldn't let it happen, not anymore… especially as the date slipped into his mind. It was the same as on the letter, containing the black and white picture of their second child… she would have been expecting her second and-
He bit his lips as hard as it drew blood, rusty, salty and sinner. The sound of the woman, the so loved Maddie died away in a faint snuffling, undoubtedly dreaming about a great life he couldn't give her… Even though Vlad was conscious of their reality, he still wished to fulfil her dreams…
Wish… suddenly his eyes snapped open, remembering word-to-word to his half-mumbled sentence before everything had changed and he had woken up in this dream (nightmare…).
Would it be that easy? –Vlad wondered, sceptical about such childish way, but then he grabbed on it, tight, as ridiculous it sounded, and he'd have literally killed to make her happy. So then, he opened his mouth, already putting together what he wanted to say, and then-
"Won't work." stopped him an abrupt voice, then the owner cleared it. "I set the rules with Desiree. She is not allowed to grant any timeline-altering wishes, unless I allow it." Vlad blinked at the sudden presence of someone else, searching with his eyes immediately to catch the person, but there was no sign of anyone, just a quiet ticking sound was telling someone was definitely there.
A moment passed in silence, making Vlad wondering about if he hallucinated the voice, but then it spoke again. "Clockwork, by the way, Master of Time – though it's rather a given title than a name. Theatrical, isn't it?" Vlad scoffed at the unmistakable enjoying waving of the words, whoever this ghost was – because, based on the invisibility it was undoubtedly an unearthly creature from the other realm –, he clearly was amused by this scenario.
"What do you-?" Vlad started, frustrated by the spectre's presence and mocking.
"Want?" was Vlad interrupted. "From you? Nothing… albeit your stubborn wish created a glitch that didn't suppose to exist. A knot, that tangled the flow of events, blinding me. In short," the ghost took a break. "you scarred the time." well, that definitely sounded like a lecture… but then, the title slipped into his mind, along with the accounting for: Master of Time.
"You can make it back…" Vlad pieced together. "You can change on the time, change on this all." he couldn't tell if it scared him or filled with him hope, but definitely that drew out a way – more like an alternative – after the wish-one. For a short time, the ticking skipped a beat, like the ghost would have been stuck on a thought, but then talked again.
"Yes, I can change on this all." was Vlad's sentence, almost exactly repeated. He didn't have to be a genius, to feel it wasn't an admitting. "But I won't." was it added, not even a second later. "I might be responsible to watch over the timelines, and every single outcome, but on this, I am afraid, I can't do anything. You created it, it's your duty to fix it, and decide." Vlad stunned. Decide what exactly? This or- that? It wasn't an actual question, he could give the answer easily, but-
Suddenly he averted his gaze from the space where he suspected the ghost was floating invisibly – getting on his nerves by that – then he looked back to the woman, gazing at his wife, and gently got out a long curly lock of hair that fell into her face. She seemed so calm, pale, yes, shattered by the tired wrinkles under her closed eyes, and…
"I see you already made your decision." Vlad heard the cursed voice again. He didn't have to guess to know his eyes were burning red, clenching his jaw and fighting inside to not lash out at the ghost, transforming to his other outlook and end the ghost, it that was even possible in case of a timeless existence. Was it really counted as entertainment for him? This?!
"It's not a decision." Vlad spitted.
"No, it really isn't." said the ghost sternly, accompanied by a sound that gave an impression like an old clock would have been adjusted, bored by the current discussion as if it had been something obvious, or expected. "But I am seeing no future over this certain moment, neither in this time or your original one. Just imagine, how it could be to be blind after millennia. Curious, I was for centuries to learn what it caused. Well, it turned out it was just a desperate hybrid's wish, fighting against his true nature, cornering himself to endless suffering than accepting the new him… comical, isn't it?"
It felt harder and harder to hold back and stay unmoved listen to the words, but as much as he loathed hearing it, if this Clockwork could mean the solution from this, then-
"Besides, what happens now, how you decide, is beyond me, I can't see through it, until it happens." defined the being, at the same time out of nowhere a swirling green-ness formed in the air. It was similar to the Proto-Portal, which Vlad had seen many years ago, but this was enough big for anyone to walk through it. "It's either this time or the other one, the knot you created still makes the connection available. But it has to end. Only one could remain."
Vlad swallowed, lost in the neon colour, like an unescapable doom that followed him everywhere. He remembered his time, his muscles still could recall the seizures, the endless days in that hospital room, and reading about his friends' perfect life against his… the ghost was right, he had been desperate, now he could control his other side, but it could be only thanked to Maddie, this Maddie… in that other world, he was nothing but- he was literally nothing… here, now, on the other hand, he had the love of his life, but still-
Suddenly, he put together no matter how he'd choose, what path he'd take, it would turn his heart a stone, destroying by the ghost's words the other time. But then, he took a glimpse at the resting woman, at his Maddie, silently sleeping unaware of another being's presence in the room, only lost in a dream-world her mind created. For a moment, he wondered about the possibilities, about the alternatives, but then, hard, Vlad realised it was out of the question.
He never felt his limbs as heavy as he stood up from the chair, earlier placed beside the hospital bed, to mean support Maddie after the loss... And he never felt more hatred towards anyone – even towards Jack – that now took over his entire body about the ghost.
"I really hope, you are able to see your so cherished future now." Vlad cursed, the sourness and hurt suffocated him from inside as he took a step towards the greenness.
"I do." acknowledged the Master of Time, but not spilling anything else, what it would mean or how things would turn out. But Vlad knew even if the ghost was aware of some outcome, he wouldn't be informed about those. As Vlad disappeared behind the gate between the two realities, he took himself a promise, to somehow, when everything had settled, whatever it would take, he would find Clockwork and claim justice.

making up for lost time
Daichi x fem!Reader - Scenario
@miss-rin‘s request: “Where Daichi reunites with the reader several years after highschool... She’s messed up from her last relationship, but wants to try again.... With a fluffy ending though, please!!”
a/n: eeee this was really therapeutic to write. i know it’s a little on the longer side of things i usually post, but i wanted to set it up well. enjoy some angst to fluff Daichi content bb <33333
warnings: break ups, cheating, low self esteem, slight language, general angst
wc: 3350
---
It’s strange. Staring at your textbook, your fingers brushing against its textured, thin pages, you hadn’t noticed the tiny droplets forming on the sheets below. Only when you recognized its salty taste did you realize you were the source. You lean back, using the table to tilt your chair onto its back legs, balancing there for a minute to keep your tears from staining anything else on the desk.
With all the mentions of bonds and fusions, somehow chemistry homework has brought you back into the reality of your current life crisis.
It’s not like you hadn’t expected tears, but did they have to overtake every aspect of your life?
In public. Walking through the park. At 4 in the morning.
It was cruel, really.
That even after a year of complete distance, everything insisted on reminding you of him.
---
Your ex was supposed to be a one night stand. A ploy to get over a deeply established crush. You were running from young, uncertain love, pushing it down, and drowning it all in heavy doses of pleasure. But weekend-after-weekend, your interactions with this mystery hookup turned into regular flings.
From there, you allowed something deeper to develop.
You started sharing with him.
Lying on the bed, limbs entangled, panting subsided. You released small thoughts and simple secrets into the dark of the night. Maybe he would capture those words, pondering them, making a space for them in his mind. Maybe he would let them drift by, like white noise and formless background music.
But it didn’t matter. You spoke anyway.
Nights passed and you would let out more gentle, whispering comments. Insecurities, dreams, stories.
And at some point, he started responding. Listening. Mulling over your words. Whether you meant for it to happen or not, things grew personal. He became your stand-in security blanket, pulling you in and showing you his own little world. You didn’t care if it was fabricated and make-believe.
Because for the first time, it seemed like someone reciprocated your words and actions. You were no longer relying on past passions and feelings because you were so busy drowning in the touch of a stranger. He gave you endless chances to let go of your greatest love and high school infatuation. And you took each one.
You pushed yourself to like him. You asked him to be exclusive. He agreed.
Because his touches were soothing. The way his arms wrapped around your middle, pulling you into his chest and whispering dirty, sugar-coated words into your ears. It made you feel wanted. Needed. Like maybe this could be the one. Like maybe you didn’t need the brown-eyed boy from so long ago.
Yes, your ex’s hold on you was physically tight…
But his intentions were loose and undefined. Eerily disconnected from the reality you had pictured yourself in.
In the back of your mind, you knew something was off. The puzzle pieces that tied your interactions together were either damaged or missing. Information and stories didn’t match up.
At some point, he started coming home wearing the scent of sex and perfume. Fragrances that didn’t belong to you. All of the staying out late and leaving the bed early... He was clearly cheating on you.
But ignorance is bliss... and you were swimming in it.
You now realize he only told you what you wanted to hear. Little, white lies iced with sweet, generous promises.
What did you expect? That he actually needed you? Why would this stand-in boyfriend be any different?
Finding him on top of a girl in your bedroom should’ve cut you deeper. It should have left you with your knees collapsed and your fingers painfully digging into the carpet. You could have screamed and cried, kicked something, at least outwardly shown your pain.
Yet all that came over you was a dizzying numbness. So you shut the door, closing yourself off to their shocked expressions. Cutting yourself off from another failed love attempt. A worthless endeavor.
---
You’re still fighting a losing battle against hot, streaming tears in the library.
You wish the tears stemmed from the breakup. It would be a logical justification for your pain. Yes, it would be easier to cry over something present… or at least something sensible.
But fate is fickle and so are your emotions. Fragile and nostalgic.
Because you aren’t choking on sobs in the campus library over that unloyal asshole.
No, your mind was fully centered on Daichi. The one person who had actually made you feel whole. Who regularly told you how much he wanted you.
You could’ve drowned in his warm, honey-glazed gaze. He drew you in, submerging you in a euphoric, blissfully intoxicated state.
Memories flittered back to you. How he would always comfort you, using his firm shoulder as a pillow during after school hours to cry or sleep on when life began to smother you.
How he snuck up behind you in the schoolyard, grabbing you by the waist, lighting a fire inside you that filled you with warmth and made your stomach do somersaults. It was playful. Lighthearted. So very Daichi.
And you wanted more. More than platonic. More than best friends.
His touches were nothing like your ex.
It was like gentle floating fireflies, blinking and flickering in a field at dusk. Consistent but surprising. Sensitive, feathery, and comforting. Not at all greedy or dismissive.
You didn’t have to think twice about it. Daichi still remained in the softest parts of you.
But it doesn’t matter anymore. He isn’t coming back to save you. To take you by the hand and rekindle whatever it was you two had shared back then.
Because Daichi wasn’t ready to commit.
He had told you how he felt. How he wanted you so badly that it physically hurt him. That he wanted to be there for you, by your side, hand-in-hand.
But he just wasn’t ready to follow through. Not with graduation and change so near in sight. Not with the possibility of losing you just as soon as you’d become his.
You knew he was right. College shifted you two into completely separate directions. 12 hours to be exact.
You and Daichi were at the right place at the wrong time.
But as you drifted, the words morphed and manipulated themselves in your mind. They echoed a tone that claimed that you were the faulty one. That you weren’t ready. You weren’t lovable enough. He didn’t want to commit to you.
So naturally, you equated it with not being enough for him. That it was some silly, unfounded puppy-love. Just a bunch of hormones and high schoolers.
So you tried to bury your longing for him, making countless mistakes in the process.
You had changed. This was your life now. Broken, exhausted, and weathered.
In defeat, you close up the heavy, tattered textbook, gently maneuvering it into your backpack and take your leave from the softly lit library. You’ve suffered enough for one day, so you may as well give yourself a break from studying.
As you make your way out the door, you feel an unexpected buzz in your back pocket, your phone lighting up with a notification. You reach a hand back to check it.
3:47 pm - sawamuradaichi38 followed you
You stop abruptly, feet planted in the doorway, eyes processing the words before you.
“Shit.”
Daichi…
High school Daichi.
The “I was just crying over how much I hate missing you 5 minutes ago,” Daichi.
You hadn’t spoken in over a year and suddenly this?
It was out of the blue, not to mention at one of the most pitiful moments in your life.
Broken up, red-eyed, and still helplessly in love with his brown-eyes. How could someone so wonderful have such disastrous timing?
You receive a rude awakening, the door to the library smacking you in the face, drawing you out of your thoughts and leaving you rubbing the now red spot on your forehead, the phone still clutched tightly in your palm.
Leaving the doorway, you spot a park bench and take a seat outside, your thumb still hovering over the “follow back” button.
It takes some persuading, but eventually you convince yourself it will be fine. It’s not like you’re selling your soul to him.
It’s just a simple “follow back.”
It also wouldn’t hurt to see what he looked like.
So you click.
And there he is. Several month’s worth of photos, flooding your eyes.
Party streamers, candids, squinted smiles, polaroid photo-shoots, flushed faces from tipsy weekends, throwbacks… and your heart is pounding at the sight of just how mature he looks.
He’s developed a flattering tan over the summer, giving him a golden glow. The deeper tone has either made him look more toned or he’s gained muscle in the past couple of years. Both are very likely.
You proceed your scrolling, subconsciously looking for any signs of being in a relationship, before you’re startled by another ‘ping’ noise.
Damn this stupid app.
To hell with media.
Why did he feel the need to message you? Is he messing with you, right now?
But the questions don’t keep you from opening the text.
Nerves settle in.
3:55 pm - Daichi: Y/n!
3:55 pm - Daichi: I’m in town for a while and I really want to see your face.
3:56 pm - Daichi: Only if you want to though… I know it’s been a long time.
How is it possible that your hands are already shaking? It’s just Daichi.
Just Daichi.
What the actual hell, Daichi.
3:58 pm - Y/n: Heya! I’d love to, but I have so many questions???
You have more than just questions.
4:00 pm - Daichi: I’ve got answers. So is that a yes? Bc if it’s a no, that’d be super awkward…
4:00 pm - Daichi: ...given that I’m 5 minutes from your university right now. Could I pick you up?
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL, DAICHI.
4:01 pm - y/n: Well damn, ok. Looks like I don’t have any excuses. Come n get me :)
You do your best to sound smooth, sending him the corner to pick you up on, but you still looked and felt like a total wreck. Your makeup was messy, mascara staining the underneath of your eyes. Luckily, you had baby wipes and could clean up a little, but you were still left with a slightly puffy, red-tinted face.
The blush that appeared after receiving his text messages didn’t help either.
If you were being honest, you felt completely hysterical. You had finally given up all hope, tossing your dreams of being with him out the window.
And here he was, casually asking you to hangout as if you two hadn’t ever lost contact. As if you hadn’t been bawling your eyes out over him for the past several months. Real cute, y/n, you laugh, thinking to yourself.
You do your best to fix your face up with your phone camera and a little extra concealer, but if Daichi is anything like he was in high school, he’ll see through it almost instantly.
You spot his car, pulling up into a spot on the side of the road. He’s scanning for you.
Your breath hitches at the sight of him, heart skipping a beat.
He’s even prettier in person. Photos couldn’t capture something that strong and handsome. His features were still kind, but his expression showed how much he’d grown. The turn of his head, showcasing his jawline. Sharper, older. Your heart is pounding and you feel the anxiety settle in.
But as soon as he captures your eyes, you both grow soft.
You could tell from the way he was looking at you, he’d been longing for you too.
He hops out of his car, focused solely on you, and starts walking. Your pace matches his but it quickly increases. The hunger you’d felt for his embrace drives you both to move faster. He felt it too. It was magnetic. Almost like you’d been waiting your whole life for this reunion.
You practically throw yourself into his firm chest, his sturdy arms circling around your torso, the rate of your collision shaking his balance. But he managed, steadying himself one footstep at a time. One of his hands makes its way up to your neck and tangles itself into your hair, grasping locks and running his fingers through it. It was as though your bodies were making up for the lack of touch and all of your unspoken words, closing any spaces between you and affirming the reality of each other’s presence.
You notice him tucking your head into his chest... just how he used to.
It’s as though nothing had changed. Like you had both been talking and touching and breathing the same air for the past year when in truth, your relationship had mimicked radio silence.
It stays silent, your bodies choosing to take one another in. He smelled of coffee and cedar, with a dash of maple. He’d always carried a sweeter scent. It never failed to make you melt into him.
Daichi’s face is buried within your hair and he can’t help but breathe in the familiar fragrance of your conditioner. A huge swell of nostalgia passes over him like a crashing wave, causing him to pull you even closer.
The very feelings you had been protecting yourself from were overloading your senses.
So you break off the hug, opting to grasp his hands instead.
His gaze is so understanding. So full of raw emotion. It’s apologetic.
“Daichi I-”
“I’m so sorry, y/n.”
There’s a pause. You give him a wobbly smile, nodding gently to let him speak first.
He opens his mouth to speak, but he’s silenced as raindrop lands directly on your nose. You giggle, wiping it off with your hand, then placing said hand back into his.
“How ‘bout we go sit in the car?” He suggests as the rain begins to drizzle.
You follow him wordlessly, taking him by the arm, quickly crossing the road.
You’re snug in his passenger seat, one foot tucked under your other leg, torso facing him directly. Daichi takes a moment to look you over. You flush under his intent gaze. That’s when he notices your reddened eyes.
“You’ve been crying.” He states directly, hand making it’s way to your chin, lifting it while examining your face.
“A-ah yeah. You’re as observant as ever, Daichi, I’ll give you that.” You smile slightly.
“Why? What… or who did that to you?” He asks, concern lacing his voice.
You look away, head tilting out toward the grey-lit street.
Should you be honest?
That he was the reason for your tears?
You want to trust him.
To believe his words at face value.
You wanted to bare your soul, letting him absorb every moment of the last year of your life. To cry out to him and explain that you wanted him so deeply that you betrayed your own feelings for him.
But look where it got you last time.
Your ex took the most precious pieces of you and stomped all over it. He had used you. Your stories. Your secrets.
You were different from the girl that Daichi used to know.
He couldn’t love that, he couldn’t possibly-
“Y/n, I mean it. You can tell me anything. I promise I’ll just listen.”
And with that, you muster up your last ounce of courage, putting full trust in him.
It comes out in a soft mumble.
“...I still love you, Daichi.”
His eyes widen, lips parting.
“I-” You begin to choke on your own words.
The emotion of everything, from your breakup to seeing your ex with another girl, to the sad eyes in front of you. It all begins to spill out. It’s not a sob. More like a release.
“I tried to like someone else. I tried so, so hard, Daichi.” Tears drip down your face, catching on the hand still holding your cheek.
You do your best to speak slowly and coherently, but you can’t seem to prevent the stutters that emerge from embarrassment and months of pent-up shame.
“It didn’t work. I- he didn’t love me.” You pause, considering if you should share the next details.
You inhale deeply, remembering his words.
I can tell him anything.
“There were other girls and-”
Daichi’s eyes darken, realizing what you meant.
“He- he didn’t,” hiccups break up the sentences you’re already struggling to form, “I just wasn’t good enough, Daichi.” You meet his eyes, “Not for you. Not even for him.”
He rubs a thumb over your face, somber and troubled.
A wave of guilt washing over his face, his own eyes tearing up at the sight of you.
Daichi wasn’t there for you. He knows it.
He had left you high and dry, letting himself get washed up within his own pain, not considering how badly it would affect you. You both cut off communication to make things easier, assuming it would help you both to move on, but it had only made things worse.
Now he’s watching it all unfurl…
You’ve been mistreated and he wasn’t there to protect you. To save you. To hold you tightly within his arms.
But he wants to help pick up the pieces.
He wants to dry those tears, one by one.
He’s ready to make up for the lost time.
It’s time to prove that he’s ready for you now if you’ll have him.
So Daichi removes his hand from your face and grabs your hand, staring at it for a moment. He brushes his calloused fingers over your knuckles.
“Y/n, I never stopped loving you.” He half whispers.
He’s tracing the lines and divots in your palm now, but his eyes are on yours now.
“I couldn’t handle not seeing you… 12 hours is a lot.” He acknowledges.
“But it should never have stopped me from being with you. That was my mistake. It had nothing to do with you not being good enough.”
“Y/n, please, God please, promise me you’ll never say that again.” He begs.
Ah, that.
You couldn’t remember if that had slipped out, but it, in fact, had.
This lie you’ve been telling yourself seems a real as the gentle drumming of raindrops on the roof of the car. Your ex had affirmed it. The breakup sealed it.
And now you’re being told to let it go? To just believe you’re enough? Worthy of love?
If only it were that easy.
“I know you don’t believe me right now… you have every right not to. But I want you to learn to trust me again.”
He continues, “You can tell me anything. I promise I won’t leave you.”
Heavy.
The words were so heavy on your heart.
“...Okay.” Your voice cracks, another few tears slipping out.
“I- I’ll try.” You look away, pain creasing your brows.
He drops your hand on your lap and reaches toward your face, cupping it.
“I mean it, y/n. I won’t leave you.” His tone is scarily serious.
His lips brush against yours, asking permission. You lean forward, gently pressing your lips into his.
It takes a moment to adjust, but you meld together smoothly. It was always supposed to be this way. His warmth is sobering.
It’s tear-soaked and somber, but oh so real.
Noses brush. He runs a hand through your hair, tucking loose strands behind your ear, running a thumb down your neck. You tilt your head, deepening the kiss while leaning into his hand. Lips parted, rhythm slow and comforting.
No part of it is rushed. This moment wasn’t for anyone except for you.
Kiss after kiss, you’re being seen. Listened to. Re-opened.
And it may take tens of thousands of kisses. You’ll probably cry into his chest more times than you can count. You’ll have to fight like hell to escape the lie of “never being good enough.”
But Daichi will be there. Because he came back to you.
And he’ll keep coming back until he doesn’t have to anymore... because by then, he’ll hope to have you by his side forever.

Tumblr media
Stepping back you looked up at the ceiling trying to locate the source of the thump, you noticed several vents lining the ceiling, they were so small that you’d managed to miss them.
The only reason you noticed them now was because there was a stream of white mist trickling over the flaps and tumbling down the wall before mixing with the oxygen you were breathing.
It was coming from every angle and soon you would be inhaling it “Are you trying to poison me?” you snapped your attention to the man on the other side of the glass who was admiring the substance in awe.
“By the time this gets in your system you’re going to wish it had been poison” he grinned slyly, drifting his gaze from the vents slowly down to your face. You covered your nose and mouth with your hand trying desperately not to breathe too heavily if you could help it.
The gas was thin and almost completely colourless, the only way you knew it was there because of the shear mass of it towards the vents - as it spread into the room it was invisible - making it harder to avoid.
Panic overtook you and you tried to steady your breathing, anything to stop you from practically drinking in the gas. Then you smelt it.
“Is that-” you started, not quite believing what you were going to say “-Is that cotton candy?” you asked Eraserhead with confusion, he tilted his head at you and raised his eyebrows “Oh that’s interesting” he commented nonchalantly.
You shouldn’t have spoke, the flavour of candy floss filled your mouth and nostrils, was he playing with you?
“Everyone smells something different” he did a lazy job of explaining, you watched him swing open some doors off to the side and drag out a comfortable looking armchair. It seemed like it took him next to no effort to do, it still shocked you how strong he was.
You laughed, all feelings of panic gone now replaced with amusement, was this the best he could do? “Are you trying to make me hungry? ‘Cause-” you said, picking up one of the nutrition bars he gave you “You screwed yourself there” you finished your sentence cockily.
He watched you shake the bar in his face and lowered himself onto the chair after he’d positioned it to face you like you were a caged animal at a zoo that he wanted to observe.
“What are you waiting for?” you asked him walking up to the glass in some strange attempt to intimidate him, he just crossed his arms and continued to watch you.
You felt a slight tinge in your thighs as your knees buckled and you fell forward, luckily you caught yourself. Putting your weight against the glass you were able to stabilise yourself, you heard Eraser’s deep chuckle rumble against the transparent surface.
A warm burning sensation spread down your throat, past your chest and into your abdomen, and you felt all the hairs on your head stand to attention and then, almost like a wave, slide down your spine. It felt so nice.
Your palms started to sweat and then you felt it, the first clear indication of what was happening, a dull tingling in your pussy and a singular throb of your clit. Stifling a whine the best you could, your knees gave way and your hands slid off the glass making contact with the floor.
Wiping your hands on your legs and feeling your pupils dilate, you turned to Eraser “What have you done to me?” your voice wavered as other sounds threatened to crawl out of your throat.
The tingling became more intense and you could feel your need and want increase. The need and want for something you would refuse to ask for.
“Gas based aphrodisiac” the side of his mouth curled into an evil smile, “You really are a monster” you grit your teeth and curled up into your side but facing the window. Beads of sweat and perspiration ran down your forehead already.
“Tell me what I want to know and I’ll shut it off” he leaned forward, trying to bargain with you - not trusting your voice, you shook your head and closed your eyes in an attempt to gain some control of yourself.
Steadying your breathing was hard, every time you inhaled you drew more of the gas into your system which prodded the fire in the pit of your stomach.
Opening your eyes again you were instantly met by grey orbs staring back at you, Eraser had left his chair and knelt down in front of you on the other side of the glass, he was practically pressed up against it to try and get as close to you as possible.
“You’re enjoying this” you intended to ask but ended up stating it instead, “I would be lying if I said that seeing you like this wasn’t intoxicating” he cooed at you, watching every facial expression you made.
Gasping as another wave of tingling ran over your scalp, down your spine and to your lower back - it felt so damn good but you wanted more.
Hearing him quietly groan, you snapped your eyes to his face to see that he was biting his bottom lip subconsciously, you tried to convey hate and anger in your eyes but the truth was your body wanted the opposite from him, and it betrayed you.
“Don’t look at me like that” he growled, shifting his weight from one knee to the other as though he was uncomfortable too, “Like what?” you breathed, your lungs forcing all the carbon dioxide out to replenish it with fresh-gas-coated oxygen.
“Like you want me to fuck you” he answered your question, the way he phrased that made your stomach to a somersault. You turned your head away and tried to subtly rub your legs together to relieve some friction. That is what you wanted, but it was only because of the ferocity of your need.
You rolled onto your other side to face the back wall, you were just fuelling him and yourself by allowing your brain to take in his features. “I will never want that” you shouted, trying to regain some pride.
Lifting yourself off the ground and towards the corner furthest away from him you heard him reply “It’s been two minutes, let’s see how you feel after an hour”. An hour?! Your brain did mental back flips, you couldn’t last an hour like this, but you couldn’t give in to him or his demands.
At this point even his voice was making you want to scream.
“Or you could just tell me what want to know and I can make it go away” he butted in.
“I have more self control than you think” you drily laughed, of course you were lying through your teeth, this was absolute torture. You knew you wouldn’t give up your friends and colleagues, but you wanted nothing more than to be touched, every thought that ran through your mind was filth and you couldn’t stop it. And every single one of them was about the man that put you here.
Your body was trembling, if you tried to stand you would probably fall straight back down before you could get anywhere, and you were struggling to breathe. Turning your back to him, you faced the wall - the only thing you could do was to reduce the amount of pleasure he was getting out of it.
5 minutes went by.
Then 10 minutes.
Then 12 minutes.
Before it hit 15 minutes, you were ravenous. The only way you could describe it is pure hunger, like a wild animal that hadn’t eaten meat in weeks. The thirst you had felt earlier in the day was nothing compared to this.
Maybe some water would help. Stiffly, you crawled your way over to where you’d left the water, your knees wobbles as well as your arms, you did your best to pretend it wasn’t affecting you was much as it was.
Unscrewing the cap of the water bottle you took a couple of sips, the cold water definitely helped. You took moment to compose yourself and turned your head to gaze out of the glass, but Eraserhead was no where to be seen.
Whipping your head from side to side, searching for any sign of movement, but there was none. He was gone.
Exhaling, you felt like you could relax a bit more. Then something caught your eye, you weren’t proud of your previous purchase about a year ago, you were a single woman, you still had needs and no time to find someone to fulfil them.
The small black bullet was staring back at you, you swallowed the mouthful of water you had and darted your eyes back to the glass, just to double check he wasn’t lurking in the shadows somewhere.
Quickly, you snatched it off of the floor and held it in your hand. You had to act now if you didn’t want to get caught, he could come back at any moment, so every second counted.
You shuffled back to your corner of the room, despite the burning temperature that you could feel against your skin you pulled the blanket over your legs and up around your waist.
Wasting no time, you turned the bullet onto its lowest setting and gently touched it against your clothed clit - immediately you let out a loud moan and stopped the contact.
Having to be silent would be hard but if he heard you then he would surely come running.
Allowing the contact again, you bit your bottom lip to keep the noises inside your throat, every spike of pleasure that shot through you was captured in your oesophagus.
Closing your eyes and scrunching your brows together, you could tell you were going to orgasm soon and you’d only just started, this stuff must have been really powerful.
Slipping your hand into your underwear, you pushed a finger inside yourself and couldn’t help but cry out at the release it gave you, after what felt like an eternity of denial it felt like you were going to pass out.
It only took another minute of the rapid pace you were setting for yourself before you felt yourself clench around your own finger, the pulsing of your walls was directly followed with a wave of pure bliss.
You were panting as you came, your chest rising and falling heavily as though there was an invisible weight set on top of you. Your vision started to go blurry and you knew you’d exhausted yourself from your short self care session, the gas shouldn’t affect you if you weren’t awake. Hopefully that would help you to resist for a little bit longer.
Lazily you slumped to the side, using your own bicep as a pillow, your eyes fluttered shut and you fell into a fatigued sleep - by the time you wake up, the gas should be gone and Eraserhead would have gotten nowhere, you thought.
Oh how wrong you were.
Although you were asleep, your dreams were filled with ‘activities’ you had never even thought of before. Somehow your brain was able to conjure positions that you had never seen, as well as kinks you’d never heard of.
All of them featuring the same man, at a time when you were most fond of him. It would be lying to say you had never had this dream before, it often came to you in day dreams and particularly lonely nights - no one ever knew, not even your closest friend. It was just a stupid school girl crush, until now.
“How is she sleeping?” you heard Eraserhead’s voice echoing in the background of your dream, it was like he was shouting in a large hall and his voice was bouncing off the walls. “I don’t know!” another voice answered, you didn’t recognise it.
How dare they interrupt your dream, it was just about to get good as well.
Groggily you opened one of your eyes very slowly, you noticed someone new in the room, but your eyes were too fuzzy to see a true figure. “That should have worked” the other man seemed confused, “Her self control must be as good as she said” he was laughing, why as he laughing? You just wanted to go back to sleep.
“I can get you an order of something stronger, but you’ll have to wait a few days” he carried on, that’s when you heard the voice you’d been waiting to hear in your dream, except he wasn’t saying what he would normally say in your fantasy.
“A few days?!” he growled. You weren’t thinking clearly, your brain was trapped between your sleep state and alertness, “Aizawa?” you mumbled sweetly, eyes still closed and the gas still in your system.
Surely this was still your dream, your brain had just started to make up a new scenario, that must be it.
The talking stopped, it was so silent you could hear a pin drop, “Maybe it worked better than you thought” the stranger chuckled and footsteps followed. You tried to open your eyes but it was as though there were tiny weights tied to your eyelashes and your eyelids weren’t strong enough to lift them.
“Y/N?” your ears pricked up when you heard your name being called, you fought against the tiredness and opened your eyelids for a moment.
Your vision was blurry, as though you were trying to look at something underwater, then they fluttered shut and you fell back into a deep sleep.

Four No’s and a Yes.
Prompt: Write about someone who gets proposed to five times on Christmas Eve.
Warnings: None, cuteness, fluff i guess lol
Dean x Reader (Childhood friends)
Tumblr media
Chritsmas Eve 2016.
The Y/L/N’s house was decorated to the T, Mrs. Y/L/N always went all out for Christmas and to say Dean loved it was an understatement. Dean had grown up next door to y/n and her family all his life, every Christmas was spent with his best friend and her family, their families took turns every year on which family would host the big Christmas dinner. It was Christmas eve, this year, Y/n’s family was hosting Christmas Eve and Day.
He watched as you sat down across from him, the same way you did every year, this time your boyfriend of almost a year sitting next to you. Dean frowned but for the most part accepted him and tried to make Carl as welcome as possible.
It’s not that he disliked the guys she dated, he just never thought they were good enough for his best friend, it had nothing to do with the fact he’d been inlove wih you almost all his life, despite what Sam and his parents had to say about it.
The meal conversations began, Dean smiled as he watched Sam’s wife wipe a smudge of food off his brothers face before then placing a small peck on his cheek. He was imsensely happy for his little brother, he had tried to find love himself but despite all the girls that came and went, none were ever good enough to bring home to Mary and John, none ever compared to, well, you.
“So Dee, any news about that girl you took out last week? She seemed nice.” You ask, shoving a fork of ham into your mouth, he chuckles watching before he replies, “uh no, didn’t pan out, first date and she was already naming our kids.” He shakes his head, cringing. Y/N makes a funny grossed out face, “Yikes, stage 5 clinger”, Dean smirks, “Exactly, not my style, sweetheart.”
“Sweetheart?” Carl pipes up, raising an eyebrow at Dean. Right, Carl hated when Dean called you by a pet name, sucks for him doesn’t it. Dean shrugs, y/n reassures him its just for fun, that they’ve been friends forever and Dean’s the only other man allowed to call her that. Carl doesn’t seem happy but strugs it off.
It’s almost 9 Pm when Carl speaks, he stands up from the tables, everyone having had a few rounds of wine by now and 50 conversations going on at once. He clears his troat, tapping his champagne glass with his fork, everyone stops, their attention on him.
“Well, this has been an amazing night, y/n your family is incredible, i’m so happy to have shared this holiday with you all, but tonight, i want to share another moment with you guys, i know how important family is to y/n and i want to make sure i do this right.” He pauses, grabbing y/n’s hand and pulling her up, Dean can see the look on her face, shes shocked and confused, not sure what the hell Carl thinks he’s doing.
He pulls something out of his pocket, Dean lets out a soft groan before taking a huge chug of his beer, Sam pats his back, a silent signal asking if he’s okay. He shrugs it off.
“Y/n, i know we haven’t been together as long as other people, but my love for you has no limits, we are a perfect match and you’re a perfect part of me, you make me better, i love you so much, and i don’t want to waste anymore time,”
He gets down on one knee, Dean watches, slightly angrily as y/n gasps, she slightly looks at Dean and he can see the panicked look on her face, she’s not ready for this, he’s ambushed her.
“Y/n Y/l/n, would you do me the honor of being my wife, my partner in crime, my forever.” Dean rolls his eyes, his mother swatting his arm and giving him a disapproving look. Y/n stays silent, looking around as everyone watches her, Then, she bolts.
Dean chases after her to see if she’s okay.
Carl was never seen again after that night.
Christmas Eve 2017
Christmas was different this year, Their parents had decided they wanted a break from cooking, so they had booked a cruise for vacation, not telling any of their kids until last minute.
Sam and Jess had decided to have Christmas with her family now that they were expecting their first child. Sam was over the moon at the chance to be a dad, he was going to be an amazing one.
Dean checks the tickets, finding the seats and throwing the jackets over them, y/n heads towards him, sitting next to him in her own seat and she hands him his beer and the hotdogs she grabbed. Dean was lucky he booked last minute tickets to the wrestling match, not surprised that even on Christmas eve, the stadium was booked solid.
They enjoy the fights, they’re small local fights, no big names, but they both enjoy it, laughing and enjoying their time together as best friends, it’s been a while. Since she started dating Max four months ago, he barely sees her, he’s insecure, especially when Dean’s around, probably because Dean’s twice his size in height and muscle, but that’s not his problem. Max starts fights with y/n anytime they hang out, so for her sake, he keeps his distance, waiting for her to call him for a hangout instead.
An hour in and it’s break time, they sit and chat, and before they know it, a voice is speaking over the PA system. “Sorry to interupt everyone, but since we are on a break, it seems like the perfect time to do this. Y/n Y/l/N, if you wouldn’t mind looking up at the jumbotron, we have a message for you from Max.”
Y/n’s eyes go wide, she looks at Dean curiously and he shrugs, just as confused. She looks at the screen, Max’s smiling face on the screen as he’s handed the microphone.
“Y/n, i know this is random and out of the blue, but you make me really happy, i know you’re not big on attention and big romantic gestures, but i wanted to do something memorable, so, i was hoping you’d be down for being my wife, will you Marry me?” he speaks, Dean almost can’t believe it, what was with these losers, she deserved to be proposed to, but not so soon and definitely not on the spot, she hated grand gestures that drew attention to her. Y/n barely knew what she wanted to do with her life, let alone to settle down.
Y/N starts breathing heavy, tears forming as she starts to panic at the whole stadium now staring at her and waiting for her answer, and just like that, yet again, she tries to run but Dean stops her, suggesting they go outside and talk to Max privately before she has a complete anxiety attack.
Another douchebag he never sees again.
Christmas Eve 2018
Another year, another Christmas Eve, y/n is sitting on Deans couch, the two of them got stuck at the airport due to a snow storm and aren’t making it home for Christmas. They had driven back to Dean’s place and she decided to crash with him, She’d just broken up with her recent douchebag boyfriend and wasn’t in happy spirits. She lies on his couch, sniffling as she watches her favoirte Christmas movie, which is currently everything on the hallmark channel.
Dean sits next to her, her feet in his lap as he messages her feet, warming them up from the cold.
“Am i ever going to find the right guy? i mean, at this point it’s become a pattern, every fucking Christmas i end up single and alone, i should just give up finding the perfect guy.” She shrugs, wiping away a stray tear.
Dean sighs, “First off, you’re not alone, you have me. Second, you pick crappy guys, you have shitty ass taste. Give it time, sweetheart, the perfect guy for you is out there, and you’ll find him, you’re just looking in the wrong places.” Dean assures her and she gives him a dry chuckle.
“Oh yea, well if you ever come across prince charming, send him my way.” She rolls her eyes and he laughs. He hates seeing her upset.
Theyre at the local skating rink when it happens, he finally got her to stop crying enough to take her out and here comes Jack, Jake, Joke, whatever the fuck his name was holding a bouquet of roses and a ring box, smiling widely at her, this jackass really thinks a ring will fix everything he’s done to her. What a damn clown.
Y/n stops abrutly, eyeing him up and down, she’s definitely angry still.
“That better not be what the fuck i think it is.” She snaps, tossing the roses in the trash. “Y/n, i know i fucked up, but you’re worth more than-” He’s cut off by the sound of her hand meeting his cheek.
“NO!” She shouts, a few people now stopping to watch. “You have some NERVE showing up here, after cheating on me and for what? to propose? ARE YOU FUCKING DRUNK? In what fucking small minded universe that you live in do you think proposing to me is going to fix what you broke? No, i will not marry you. Go to hell, Jeff.” She stomps off, as good as she can in skates.
Jeff, that’s his fucking name. He looks over at me and i shrug. “You fucked that up on your own man, you don’t deserve her.” Dean walks away.
She never mentions Jeff again.
Christmas Eve 2019
Their families get together again, Dean’s family hosts this year, y/n and he had flown home early this year to help with the food and decorations, y/n had run into one of her exes, a guy she dated back in highschool, He’d ran in Sam’s circle of friends, one of his old football buddies. They had gone on a date to catch up, ending up at the local bar with some old highschool friends.
Sam sits next to him, downing his own beer. “Man, why don’t you just tell her you’re her prince charming, watching her get with and dump all these idiots is getting tiring. Even mom and dad know you two belong together.” Sam chuckles, letting out a burp, he’s clearly borderlining between drunk and tipsy. Dean sighs, he’s going to have to call Jessica soon.
“If i was her soulmate, she’d have noticed by now. I’m not going to make that choice for her. If it’s meant to be, she’ll realize it on her own, not because i forced her to like me.” He shrugs and Sam laughs, “You’re both so stupid.” Sam huffs and shakes his head.
Before Sam can continue pestering him about his failure to woo Y/n, they hear a commotion, they turn to see Eric covered in beer, calling y/n a bitch and some other not nice words.
Dean gets protective, not even a split second before he’s standing next to her, shoving Eric away from her. “Easy man, get away from her.” He yells and Eric huffs, throwing his arms in the air, “Whatever, you’re a waste of time, can’t believe i ever dated you, i forgot what it was like being with you.” He snarls before stepping outside, no doubt to light up another blunt.
Dean frowns, “What happened?” he asks and you laugh. “He proposed, said he missed me and regretted ever breaking things off, said he finally realized i was the one that got away.” She airquotes before she sips her beer, huffing, “Turns out, that’s his game, he was hoping if i said yes i’d be over the moon and jump into bed with him again. Ugh, i hate men.” she grunts before walking out, Dean slaps a few bills on her table before going after her, a semi drunk Sam at his side.
Chritmas Eve 2020
Christmas Eve dinner is a hit. Changing things up, Dean and Y/n had decided to host this year, flying their families out to vancouver. It’s cold and snowy, but makes Christmas actually feel like Christmas, unlike the warm sunny holiday in california, they love it there, but this year, with the snow, it actually feels like a real Christmas.
They sit out on the back deck, taking a break from the family game night and friendly comeptition and yelling going on inside. Their families are nuts, but it always makes for a great time.
Dean’s sure he’s ready, she hasn’t dated anyone since the last proposal, and he’s insane, he’s sure of it, he’s sure just like the others, he’ll be turned down, and he’s willing to make an utter fool of himself, but it’s time, he’s waited long enough, he needs her to know, he needs to tell her, he’ll never be able to truly move on and get over her if he doesn’t at least get an answer on wether she feels the same.
“How long do you think that bingo game is going to last?” She asks, chuckling and she watches their families fight over who had bingo first.
“Marry me.” He blurts it out without even realizing it. That’s not how he wanted that whole thing to go, he had planned it out, but plans go out the window when you spend time obsessing on things being perfect.
“What?” She’s stunned, but she hasn’t run away yet, and she’s not hyperventilating, that’s a good sign. He begins to babble like a damn idiot.
“I don’t have a ring, or a proper set up like a jumbotron or some shit, and this isn’t even how i planned on this day going, i’m not perfect, and i have my flaws, hell i’m so fucked up i’d be insane to think i even deserve even half your love, but i’m crazy about you, and i have been since 5th grade, when you gave me my first valentines card because no one in class gave me one and then kissed my cheek and told me you’d always be my valentine. I guess, what i’m trying to say is i may not be your prince charming, but you’ve always been my girl, i’ve never chosen anyone but you, and i realize, i don’t ever want anyone, except you.” He finally takes a breath, too scared to make eye contact, and he sighs.
“I know this is stupid and random and you can totally say no or run away if th-”
“Yes.” She stuns him, completely silencing his rant.
He finally meets her eyes, “What?” He asks, sure as shit he heard her wrong.
“Yes, Winchester, i’ll marry you.” She says, this time clear as day.
He huffs out a laugh, “ Wait, seriously?” he asks, stunned and still thinking she has to be fucking with him.
She shrugs and smiles, “Yeah, I’ve known you all my life, you were always my prince charming, my perfect match, i was just waiting for you to figure it out.” She laughs. Dean’s eyes roam her face, for the first time, seeing how perfect she really is for him.
“I literally could have been with you this entire time?” he raises and eyebrow and she shrugs, smiling. He shakes his head, not believing his own stupidity before he takes full advatnge, leaning in and finally claiming what’s been his this entire time.
Safe to say, that was the last proposal she ever recieved.
