how are the Insurgent Generals in the swap au?? I need to know

gonna be honest, haven't thought about it too hard, but i guess in the au they'd probably be independently evil nuisances? since they're the a-team if they were in fact just messing around, i think they'd be kinda like the threat level of something the so-and-so, or the amazing rope guy from wordgirl, where they almost look like they pose a threat but never fail to chicken out at the last minute, or their great and dastardly plan ends up being a very minor disturbance of the peace, like vandalism with sharpie or stickerbombing

maybe "the big job" would be about sir peeps and meteor going undercover in what they think is like. an organized crime ring. because they keep acting like it's organized crime. maybe speeps and meteor dont even wanna be undercover, and it was just unlucky happenstance they ended up in the throes of four overly serious weirdos claiming to be plotting & scheming truly terrible and twisted things, and at the end it's something very mild and inconsequential. something to make meteor & peepers look very silly for fearing for their lives at the hands of a buncha dweebs

Clipper slowly opened his eyes.  His body was aching all over, and he hadn’t felt this weak and tired since his first serious training session.  He was just beginning to regain his senses.  His breathing was still heavy.

The last thing he remembered was being attacked by guards during his solo mission, and although he did his best to fight them, he soon lost consciousness from the beating he’d taken.  He thought he was a goner, but it looks as though someone had saved him.

And judging by his surroundings -which he didn’t recognize- it wasn’t one of his teammates.

Then he heard someone talking over to his left– perhaps his rescuer.  As much as it hurt, he turned his neck over to see who it was.

Harmony would often try to invite East out to drinks with her and Anastasia( or just her, not like as a date but more so bc Ana is once again focusing on her machines than her friend). For many reasons,he would usually decline. One of those reasons is that he often tries to keep his work life and private life separate: he's already dressed as he is, so he simply wants to be in his own area at his own time, at his own pace. Harmony, a sweetheart, understands,but she still always offers- something that East later understands of her way of checking up on him without pushing too much.

I think East n Harmony would honestly have a sweet friendship under different circumstances. Especially since. She is a doctor. I think having a doctor friend would be rather beneficial haha. Not many people really know East outside of work and again, East would prefer it that way, but I still think a league friend would be nice for him.

Assault on AU peacekeepers condemned.

In related developments, the United Nations Secretary-General has strongly condemned a recent deadly assault on African Union peacekeepers in Somalia.

Al-Shabaab insurgents attacked the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) base in Buulo Maleer, Lower Shabelle region, on Friday, according to media reports.

The base was staffed by peacekeepers from Uganda. 

"The Secretary-General conveys his heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed as well as to the Government and people of Uganda. He wishes a speedy and full recovery to the injured," UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said in a statement on Monday.

The Secretary-General paid tribute to all ATMIS troops and expressed appreciation for their service in support of peace and stability in Somalia, he added.   The United Nations chief also reiterated his call for international support to ATMIS and the Somalia security forces in their fight against violent extremism.

people tend to have really backwards ideas about how centralisation works. like, the whole 'cops can handle one ten-thousand person protest, but ten one-thousand person protests would sink them' is a massive argument *for* centralisation - it requires an incredible amount of organisation and coordination to carry out ten simultaneous, synchronised protests; whereas one big one kinda just happens on its own when people agglomerate to it without leadership. that's the trend, and it carries in general - secret insurgent cells of only a few people require absurdly more blind deference to authority than a regular army does, a hundred small workshops coordinating are more disenfranchising than a single factory, etc. the level of organisation needed to coordinate many small units is something that needs to be built up, and people seem to imagine that it's actually very simple, practically, to Just Decentralise It. it's not. both the bottom-up and top-down aspects of organisation are integral.
