at first i thought sarutobi was gonna assign gai to co-sensei w Tobi but that didn't really make sense bc team gai and that's way too many kids imo but then i remembered YAMATO and that's amazing i would love it if yamato actually fostered a bond w sasuke and the rest of team 7 pre-timeskip. I am so hyped for any scrap of the fascinating tobi&yamato friendship you wanna give us.

Holy shit you are so right. Scribbling on hand Yeah Yamato definitely has to show up, exclusively because he calls Tobi 'Senpai' and has a great deal of respect for him and everybody else thinks it's the most bugfuck insane thing of all time. They don't know what Yamato knows (that Tobi blew Orochimaru's operation open and resulted in his rescue). Actually possible that Tobi's intervention outright saved Yamato from ROOT, actually, which is incredibly funny. No that's so funny. Literally Obito is out there improving everybody's lives EXCEPT his own. Insane.

(I would say that he somehow pulls a Kakashi and prevents Yamato from assassinating the Hokage, but - you know, I'm not actually sure that Obito would spit on the Hokage if he was on fire).
