#the first realism piece i had done in prismacolor

Magic and whimsy is alive and well, I sold my first artwork as an artist and I stuck around to meet the dude who bought it. He was very happy to buy my art. Shook my hand twice and was all smiles, loved to see that it was interactive too. He was there with his dad too, and I saw him show it to him. He was around my mom's age, likely younger.

I'm so happy that my art could make someone else happy. Magical night tonight folks.

So Instagram is failing me greatly, but that just means you're going to get a few more posts than I planned at first, what're ya gonna do? *Shrug* This is my piece inspired by the @the_coven_artist_collective prompt. Each member of the collective chose a planet and then produced their own unique ways to represent them. This is the first realism-ish pencil drawing I've done in a while. Pencil is what I taught myself to draw with so I can easily and quickly draw these type of referenced pieces. Frankly I find them less challenging than drawing a cartoon, no matter how simple, in any medium. After pencil came crayon, acrylic, then oil pastels, then soft pastels and multimedia. These are all mediums that you build up layers of, mixing with or covering up those below. I've rarely had watercolors, I just got my first set of prismacolors but I have to share them... I have a guesso cake set and a watercolor set I also have to share... 🙄 But my iPad is mine and mine alone! 😝 So I'm pretty much a newbie in half of the fine art materials 🤦 So I guess what I'm saying is that this feed really is an experiment and I'm sharing it with you my darling followers.
