Okay. I literally just finished S3 of LoVM and I have thoughts. Also, I just need to write those thoughts out to try and process what I'm feeling. Because I'm feeling a lot.
If it isn't obvious, everything that follows this is going to spoil the fuck out of all of LoVM and also CR C1, so, y'know, stop reading if you haven't watched yet and care about spoilers. You're beautiful, and I love you.
Okay. So. First, things that I want to praise unabashedly:
Laura Bailey is a fucking angel sent from the heavens to show humanity what god-tier voice acting is. I cannot get over her, and at this point I don't think I ever will. Love's First Crit was fucking phenomenal and heartbreaking and you bet your ass I was crying in the club.
Thordak-Raishan was cool as fuck and I loved the way they did it. I actually wish we got a bit longer of a fight there, it almost felt too quick. Would have loved to see Raishan fully let loose, but the narrative supported a sort of Keyleth v Raishan finale, so not a huge thing for me. I thought it was dope.
I saw you reading Der Kattenprintz to your daughter, Syldor. Don't think I didn't see that.
Kaylie's Song was as beautiful as I knew it would be. Sam and Mr. Fantastic and Neal Acree having been making fucking gold from Day 1 on this soundtrack, and I suspect they'll continue to do so in Season 4.
And now...the rest. The thoughts. The things. There are two big ones, and I'll start with the smaller of the two:
I did not like everyone splitting up for the first half of this episode drop. Was it technically both thematic and narratively sound? Yeah, absolutely it was. And I 100% get that this is something you can take advantage of in a TV show that doesn't really work at a D&D table. But for the Matron's sake, the show is called The Legend of Vox Machina. It is still about Vox Machina as a group, not as individuals. And the party is the heart of the story in the animation as much as it was in the live play. And splitting them up for such big moments feels like shit.
The other teams members not being there to see Earth Elemental Keyleth? That sucks. I know she got to show it off later when she killed Raishan, but it still sucks that that huge development moment for her happened completely devoid of the rest of VM.
Vax and Vex killing Ripley on their own? Sucked. Absolutely sucked. They went through all the extra work of building Ripley into a much bigger villain in the show -- both by having her survive Glintshore but also by us seeing her working with Umbrasyl in Season 2 and then again with Thordak in Season 3. They turned her into a proper major villain, and then never had the party as a whole fight her.
Her and Percy go mano y mano at Glintshore with no party intervention, and then the twins kill her with not only no party intervention, but not even telling the party they were going after her.
Like I get that Percy matters a whole hell of a lot to Vex, and by extension to Vax, but the rest of the party also loves him? And misses him? And wants him back? And they just...never get to fight Ripley?
Yeah, it's a TV show, you can have characters doing different things, but now you've lost a party experience. Vox Machina did not kill Anna Ripley. Vex and Vax did. And I'm sure some people are totally cool with that, but to me it really kills the heart of the story which is the party as a whole and the experiences they have together.
And speaking of splitting up.... what the fuck was that decision to replace Bard's Lament with the entire party just being like "well I guess we'll go do our own stuff now!"
Yes, the threat of the Whispered One will force them back together. Yes, because of the streamlined nature of the show we don't have as many side plots holding the group together now that the Conclave has been defeated. Yes, TV is different than D&D.
But holy fuck did I hate that decision, from both an adaptation standpoint and a narrative standpoint.
The first bit there is self-explanatory -- they fully removed one of the most iconic parts of C1. Despite -- in my and a lot of other people's opinions -- spending the better part of Season 2 and 3 setting up Scanlan's departure only to pivot at the last moment. I get making changes to fit the medium and the time constraints. But it was so obvious they were setting Scanlan's leave up from Season 2, and all the writing was on the wall, and then it was just nothing. And I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed we won't hear "what's my mother's name."
But even if I look past that disappointment, the narrative of it feels underwhelming on its own. Scanlan leaving is a huge moment for him, realizing he needs to look after his own needs, and having Keyleth basically echo the same sentiment really diminishes that moment. It feels like a goodbye episode -- and I get that S4 just got picked up like three days ago so they probably made that change so the show could end there if S4 wasn't ever made. That's probably the realistic answer.
But wow did I not like it. Wow wow wow. Like.... wow wow wow. I just...it felt so underwhelming. I kept waiting for the big moment, for the big season ending punch -- like the Chroma Conclave flying in at the end of S1 or the Raishan reveal at the end of S2 -- and there was just nothing. Yeah, we got the Vecna stinger, but that didn't involve the party. That didn't command immediate "oh no what's this."
It felt like it was setting up four new spinoff shows, not another season of the Legend of Vox Machina.
And let me be clear, this is all one dude's very fresh rant. This means nothing. If you loved these episodes, do not let me dillute your enjoyment. And I know CR and Titmouse don't owe me a damn thing -- they're not making this for me. I get that. But I just cannot believe that's the route they took.
In my opinion, the first two season very much felt like an adaptation. But this season felt more "inspired by," rather than an adaptation. And how much of that hits for you is totally personal preference. If I'd never seen any of C1 I'd love every moment of this. As its own things, it's still an incredible show and incredible art.
But it just felt like the heart was missing -- for me, at least -- in the back half of this season. Maybe I'm a hater. Maybe I'm resistant to chance. But it just didn't quite land and I needed to write all this out just to process my own feelings. Which is all they are. Feelings.
I still love CR. I still love LoVM. And of course I love y'all. Bidet.

i trust your opinions very much so i have an important question: how would you rank all six seasons of better call saul?
Oh god this is such a difficult thing to do but my gut take is, from highest to lowest (of course keeping in mind that even the lowest tier is still 10/10 filmmaking and one of my favorite shows of all time):
Season 3 - Easily the show at its best imo. I feel like I maybe go against the grain ever so slightly when I say that I enjoy the first half of this show ever so slightly more than the back half, and it really loses something special when Michael McKean as Chuck leaves despite having enough interesting stories to go the rest of the way. Jimmy's relationship with Chuck is the infinitely compelling centerpiece of his character that quite literally changes everything that came before and that would come after. not to mention this is the season that gave us Chicanery, which is my favorite episode of the show and one of my favorite episodes of television ever.
Season 5 - though I think S6 ends up being an intensely compelling finale overall, I think the more straightforward direct descent into darkness that the characters experience in this season ends up being JUST A TAD more potent for me. Especially once you reach the end and see where Kim lands and how that affects Jimmy internally. The payoff is great, but there's something about the impending potential for disaster that this season sets up that really made it stick with me.
Season 2 - This season gave us the inflatable man montage. I need say no more.
Season 4 - This season gave us the something stupid montage. I need say no more.... but I will. It was also the introduction of Lalo, a character I honestly don't know if I fully believed we would see until it happened. Fucking legendary piece of lore building.
Season 1 - Again, I think Jimmy's relationship with Chuck is THE SINGLE MOST INTERESTING thing this show ever added to the character of Saul Goodman. This season is an extremely worthwhile buildup to understanding that relationship fully, and though some complain it's too much of a slow burn I think it's perfectly paced. This and Season 2 give us the "early years Saul Goodman" show that the premise implies, but has just enough tension boiling underneath the surface to lead us into what the show REALLY is come Season 3 onward.
Season 6 - ...okay I KNOW HOW THIS LOOKS. I honestly wasn't expecting Season 6 to be at the bottom of this list because I REALLY LOVE Season 6. I think it's just because I've watched the other seasons so, so, so many times so they just really mean a lot to me, and I still only have one watch of S6 under my belt. I gotta rewatch it soon cause there is so much to love about the way this show wraps up. Again, I have to stress: bottom of a Better Call Saul tier list is still S+ filmmaking.
I fucking love this show

So I’ve been listening to lots of podcasts at work lately to break up the monotony of my office job. Mainly they’re horror, suspense/thriller, drama, that kind of thing. Trying to give ratings without spoilers~
(Check out updated pod recs here)
The Left Right Game (a journalist investigating an urban legend that gets increasingly more dangerous as they go): 5/5, this being one of the first ones I listened to set the bar really high tbh, it was great, immersive sound design, genuinely suspenseful and creepy moments, interesting plot, my only gripe is that I didn’t love the ending but I couldn’t dock a star just for that, highly recommend, maybe I’ll retire to Wintry Bay someday
Alice Isn’t Dead (delivery trucker goes searching for her believed dead wife, comes across supernatural towns and creatures and a conspiracy that goes way deeper than one missing woman): 5/5, so so good, enjoyed a lot, I loved learning the truth about the Thistle men, still don’t completely understand oracles but that’s okay, some delightfully creepy moments, this will be high on my recommendation list (also it’s by the Welcome to Night Vale people, which I actually haven’t listened to lmao)
Harley Quinn and the Joker: Sound Mind (it’s a Harley Quinn origin story basically): 5/5, very enjoyable, sound design great, plot was fun, I don’t know how accurate this story is to the original Harley Quinn origin story but I liked this a lot
The Burned Photo (two women try to fight a familial curse haunting their bloodlines): 4/5, not bad at all, I thought the sound design was great and immersive but I thought the monster’s voice was a bit goofy idk, the plot wasn’t bad though ofc it was pretty bittersweet and sad in the end, tho I think it was never going to be happy for everyone involved
Blackwood (group of teens investigate the town urban legend and uncover more than they bargained for): I can’t decide…3.5 maybe? It was okay. I didn’t love it or hate it, I’m pretty neutral about it. It was interesting enough
Gaslight (girl goes missing and then reappears to her best friend years later with little explanation): 3/5, feels like there should be another season, wasn’t as dramatic/suspenseful as I thought it would be (maybe that’s my own fault tho, from the description and stuff I thought there would be more to it)
Ice-Cream (teens suspect the friendly neighborhood ice cream man of abducting little kids and uncover a dark secret): 4.5/5, interesting and a lil creepy, there’s something oddly funny about hearing someone scream “fuck you Beelzebub” even in context, sound design is pretty good and voice acting is great, finale was also pretty good but I’m docking half a star bc of that very last bit and bc I said so, overall short n’ sweet, no pun intendo (I’m kinda glad that it’s only the one season and not super long, gives the feeling of not overstaying its welcome. Also in awe that they made it within like a month, gonna go listen to their other podcast Cascadia too)
Cascadia (submarine expedition to uncharted waters, gone wrong, we almost died!?): 5/5, by the Ice-Cream people so I expected great sound design and voice acting and said expectations were met tbh, yes god love the drama, ocean depths are inherently scary to me so this is top tier horror, season one was chef’s kiss beautiful and I heard season 2 is coming so I’ll be waiting eagerly for that
Listening now:
Within the Wires (season 1 is relaxation cassette tapes from another world, season 2 is a guided museum tour I think): also by the WTNV people, interesting so far, the plot that unfolded in the first season was cool to watch as it played out, but also I am so sad. I like it so far
Rabbits (girl goes searching for her friend who disappeared because of this mysterious Rabbits game): feels like a really slow start after a few episodes, I kinda wanna get to more action soon please
Wake of Corrosion (apocalypse where characters are trying to find other survivors and also answers): mild shrug, not sure what to make of it just yet. Only like 2 episodes in so I think I need to give it a bit
Ars Paradoxica (scientist accidentally invents time travel and is thrown back to the 1940s): pretty interesting so far, science is fun
Spoiler comment for Cascadia under the cut bc it's the one I just finished and I have Thoughts
As much as I enjoyed Cascadia, when I think about the expedition for more than 2 seconds I get confused. Not the whole alien thing, that’s fine, it’s Badger and Maria and their ulterior motives. Why in the world did Badger spend millions of dollars to make a submarine that’s faulty on purpose? And there was so much media coverage around it so the second something went wrong reporters were practically beating him over the head with microphones, so why risk so much bad press? Plus sacrificing three other talented divers who trusted him with their lives??? That’s the most confusing to me. There’s no way Badger foresaw them getting attacked underwater and losing Declan alone, so he must have been fully prepared to lose captain AND crew. Holden said that he saw Badger as a father, and yet he chose Holden to die? He said he handpicked them, so what did Holden, Alia, or Iris ever do to him to deserve being sent on a suicide mission? Doing all this just to get rid of Declan and be with Maria doesn’t feel right. Feels like there should be something more there. Tldr: surely Badger had another reason for conducting the suicide mission, right? Also since season 2 starts with Lila all grown up, a diver just like her father, I wanna know her opinions of her mother and of Badger. Did she learn about her mother’s betrayal? Is Badger still involved in funding deep sea diving or did the FBI take him out of that? Omg who’s the father of her little sibling…I’m so curious…
#ignore me#mimi reviews#the left right game#alice isn't dead#harley quinn and the joker sound mind#the burned photo#blackwood#gaslight#ice-cream#cascadia#within the wires#rabbits#wake of corrosion#ars paradoxica#i can't believe i had the patience to tag all these...

@lifemod17 tagged me in this so here's
Scarlet's Top Ten Songs
Here's the list:
Ascensionism- Sleep Token
The Summoning- Sleep Token
Work Song- Hozier
Stick Season- Noah Kahan
Waiting On The Sky To Change- Starset ft. Breaking Benjamin plus Judge & Jury
Hurt You- Spiritbox
Faultline- Starset
Already Dead- iPrevail
Ashley- Halsey
Concrete Jungle- Bad Omens
This list was almost impossible to make. My music library on YouTube Music is HUGE. Would be bigger if I was still a fan of Taylor Swift.
Full explanations below the cut 🔽
Tagging @murderofcrow if they want to participate 💜
1. Ascensionism: Sleep Token
Album: Take Me Back To Eden
Why: The god-tier drums, the guitars, the piano at the beginning and end, the lyrics. Everything about it is a masterpiece made for my ADHD brain to absolutely vibe to. Vessel said "worship" and my brain went, "bitch I may be asexual but I'm on my knees for this song"
Favorite part: lipstick, chemtrails, red flags, pink nails/ with one eye on the door, other eye on a rail/other other eye following a scarlet trail and the last drops from the Holy Grail
2. The Summoning- Sleep Token
Album: Take Me Back To Eden
Why: TikTok likes to call this song "the baby making song" and you know what? I get it. I've never fucked, but I suppose men can last for six minutes and thirty six seconds. Women definitely can. Anyways, I love how this song has range. It goes from god-tier drums (II is an absolutely amazing drummer), to epic guitar, to just the most epic of everything. The lyrics are even better.
Favorite Part: Oh and my love?/ Did I mistake you for a sign from God? Or are you really here to cut me off?/ 'Cause these days, I'd be lying if I told you that/I didn't wish I could be your man.
3. Work Song- Hozier
Album: Hozier
Why: Back when I felt like I had to listen to pop music Just Because, I wandered into the realm of Hozier. Now, Hozier I would classify more as alternative, maybe even folk, more than pop. But this song popped up when I was listening to cardigan (by Taylor Swift), and it's just... omg. Work Song is utterly an obsession and every time I hear it I'm hitting repeat faster than the speed of a bullet.
Favorite Part: Nothin' in her room, but an empty crib/And I was burnin' up a fever/didn't care much, how long I lived/But I swear I thought I dreamed her
4. Stick Season- Noah Kahan
Album: Stick Season
Why: Once you become a Hozier girlie (gn), the path that leads you to Noah Kahan is nothing more than a slip n' slide. Stick Season's chorus sums perfectly why I hate living in Ohio even though the song is about Vermont
Favorite Part: And I'll dream each night of some version of you/That I might not have, but I did not lose/Now you're tire tracks and one pair of shoes/ And I'm split in half but that'll have to do
5. Waiting On The Sky To Change- Starset ft. Breaking Benjamin + Judge & Jury
Album: N/A (single)
Why: Starset was introduced to me in high school. I'm not sure how I found their first album, but somehow I went from Bastille to Starset. Don't ask. No, I wasn't okay. Lol. This song was released two years ago and it's a whole vibe.
Favorite Part: I've been frozen since that day/ I saw my clear blue skies as they turned to gray in front of me/ It's hard to find my way Can I rise above when giving up is all know?
6. Hurt You- Spiritbox
Album: Eternal Blue
Why: The beat and especially the drums (I love me some good ass drums).
Favorite Part: I hope you find what you're fighting for/ I am happier when I hurt you/ Your medicine is the coldest war
7. Faultline- Starset
Album: Divisions
Why: Again with the drums. But particularly the lyrics. To me, it's a song about feeling insecure and anxiety. I often feel shaky in my most anxious moments so this song gets it. What's more anxious than an earthquake?
Favorite Part: It's never black and white, no/ Going seismic out of spite, oh/ I never know if it's your fault or mine
8. Already Dead- iPrevail
Album: Lifelines
Why: The heavier metal beats, the loud vocals
Favorite Part: Tell me now, how do you sleep at night?/With the Devil in your bed laying right by your side
9. Ashley- Halsey
Album: Manic
Why: I can't explain, but I feel this song deeply and personally. It's a song of longing.
Favorite Part: And if only/ the time and space wasn't lonely/ l'd disintegrate into a thousand/ I think I'm making a mistake, who will fill the empty space?
10. Concrete Jungle- Bad Omens
Album: The Death Of The Peace Of Mind
Why: I love the synth vocals, I love how the chorus feels so epic.
Favorite Part: The coyotes cry/ And the sirens pass and harmonize/ Fires starting every day and night/ Burn around us while we're trapped inside/ Wouldn't it be nice/ To play the game without a crooked die

What are 5 things you want to see in Lone Star season 5?
Oh jeez, Anne, there is so much I want to see, but I will do my best to condense it to 5! Also, there should be no surprises that I am a slut for tarlos, so that's what most of my answers will be 😆
#1 which I think a lot of people have already mentioned, but I would love to see Carlos solve his father's murder within the first half of the season. I want to experience married Tarlos, without Carlos shouldering the burden of his father's death for too long! I want TK to be there for him the whole time through it, and I want them to be able to process the grief properly together! If we get some more TK or Carlos whump from it, great! So long as they are okay afterwards and can properly move towards the future together!
#2 I would actually like to see Iris in one episode, and make it a nice, happy one, with Carlos AND TK! I love her for being the only person that was there for Carlos when he had no one else during such a fundamental moment in his life. I think LS did such a disservice to her character for only including her in tense episodes, and having the last piece of actual spoken dialogue she had with TK, be something that made him spiral, although we did get a nice Tarlos scene from it. I think it was a mistake to not have a Carlos in the hospital scene for many reasons but also, so we could actually have seen Iris and TK reconcile properly. But alas, that is one of our biggest gripes with the show is having to fill in a lot of the blanks for ourselves. Thank God for fanfiction.
#3 give us TK and Carlos doing something nice, outside of the loft!! Despite what Tim may think, I know so many of us do want to see tarlos on a date, or running errands together! And it would give them a chance to actually have some good lighting, because damn is that loft dark as hell more often than not! Hell, make it a double-date, with Grace and Judd preferably, because we see the TK/Judd and Carlos/Grace relationship, but I can't really think of a time where they all interacted together, and I would loveeee to see the two married couples on the show spending time together and giving each other advice!
#4 More of the Owen/TK and now Carlos too, relationships!! Again, Season 1 TK and Owen is top-tier father and son, non-toxic dynamics and I miss it! I want them bonding and interacting over something that does not include one is apologizing to the other for something or tragedy!! Carlos needs a father figure, (which he was starting to get again with Gabriel! Thanks LS for that dumb decision) and who better to fill that role now than his father-in-law!
And #5, that I would pay good money to see, is literally any sort of spicy tarlos! So many of us would kill for a tarlos wake up scene, shirtless,of course. (You covered up Rafa's and Ronen's tattoos for a 4 second honeymoon scene, you can do it again for a 1-2 minute bedroom scene) OMG, have them spooning and holding each other! That is so tame but you know we would all lose our damn minds and be so happy for months to come!! Have them sloppily making out and then close their bedroom doors and we can fill in the blanks. Give Ronen his shower scene!! Show them being in love and having a very active and healthy sex life. Gay, married couples still very much enjoy having sex and being intimate, and I know the scenes we have gotten of them have been plot devices or to show their budding relationship, but still, throw the tarlos fandom a bone! Especially for everything they put is through last season!
Phew, anyways, thanks for making me think this morning ❤️

Billboard USA Exclusion Zone Episode 23 (01/27/2024)
I have like four things I want to say about the chart at the moment
Seems like this year will a test for the established artists from the 2010s as to how they'll adapt to 2020s especially with the TikTok generation
Speaking of TikTok, it's no secret that the app basically dictate what becomes a hit or not. But looking at the chart as a whole and I couldn't helped myself and think that these songs wouldn't be as high as it is if there's no TikTok
21 Savage seemingly has reached the stardom that big rappers before him that he even worked with in the 2020s. With this week we have 21 Savage album bomb and I will talked about the three highest charting songs from the album
The fact that I already got 2 songs that would probably appeared on my best list that debuted this week.
Something to think about really. Anyways debut time!
---------------------------------------------------
1. "Yes, And?" by Ariana Grande
See this is why I said that established artists will have to adapt to the 2020s sensibility and only get some immediate effect and nothing else. I do like the song and I'd say this is her best lead singles since No Tears Left To Cry with the late 80s house and the Vogue by Madonna samples. But I don't see a lot of hype from this at least on normie circle. So yeah the song is good but I'm worried about her next album
5. "Bizarrap Music Session, Vol 58" by Bizarrap & Young Miko
Even though I don't speak Spanish, I can sense that this song is aspiritional and celebrating the success by the production alone. The piano, the 2010s style percussion, and how tasteful it felt especially coming from Bizarrap. This is actually sounds like what Official HIGE DANdism would've made to be honest. Another great offering from Biza
16. "Redrum" by 21 Savage
Seems like 21 listened to MONACO by Bad Bunny and be like "yeah sure I have better samples here lmao" and that's how this song was made. All jokes aside yeah I can say this is perfect lead off singles. It sets the tone for the album and I love that samples.
17. "Igual Que Un Angel" by Kali Uchis ft. Peso Pluma
You know, I've always reserved with whenever Kali Uchis released at first because her brand of loose rnb music can be intimidating sometimes. But with this and the rest of the album, the feeling I got is just warm welcome. This song is excellent and the fact that this song made Peso Pluma sounds great not just good. Yeah this is best list material.
37. "nee-nah" by 21 Savage ft. Travis Scott & Metro Boomin
You can't do no wrong with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin but I'm surprised with Travis Scott here. He sounds more focused and better than his performance on Utopia. The song also just sounds great in general. Seems like his work on Spidervese soundtrack has done something with Metro because wow this sound so full and lush. The samples at the start with that trap percussion and of course the Nina Simone samples. It's a vibe and a half.
48. "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" by Creepy Nuts
It's not even the end of January and we already have the best anime opening contender. Now with this one, opening for season 2 of Mashle, it has an uphill battle for it to be like best of the season so far. But somehow this song is unique even for anime opening standard, because this is straight up jersey club song even right down to the Trillville bed squeek. And the MC here R-Shitei just rap his ass off here. My god I am flabbergasted that this song exist at all.
53. "n.h.i.e" by 21 Savage ft. Doja Cat
So apparently this one is for Scarlet and yet it was given for 21 Savage. And yup this is definitely a Scarlet cut right down to the swapping bass and Doja Cat doing her Doja Cat shit. This would be like high tier Scarlet song but definitely middle tier American Dream song.
138. "J CHRIST" by Lil Nas X
Okay I think we need to talk about how we are assessing Lil Nas X as a phenomenom or as an artist. Because while this song is good, the way that people just don't care about this at all is telling especially when you remembered his last hit is a theme song for a League of Legends tournament. If I were you Lil Nas I would just released the Kesha cut as the second singles.
140. "First Love" by Oscar Ortiz X Edgardo Nunez
I usually like a lot of cumbia songs in general but I feel like something missing here. Maybe the percussion isn't defined or the performance from both artists are half assed. Feels like I should like this more than I do.
143. "Hola Perdida" by Luck Ra X KHEA
Well then this is the first merengue song since that mishapen collab between Manuel Turizo and Marshmello. I will say that I hope that we get more songs like this to spice up the latin pop scenes
146. "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield
This is actually my gf's favorite song did you know that? Also with this and Murder On The Dancefloor both becoming viral hits because it appeared on movies, we can safely say that the influence of New Radicals are still alive even in 2020s.
168. "Never Lose Me" by Flo Milli
You know I would congratulate Flo Milli for appearing on this chart because these type of songs aren't usually crossed over outside the US. I would say more but this is definitely one of the trap-n-B song of all time.
176. "Apocalypse" by Cigarettes After Sex
You know Cigarettes After Sex is an apt name for this band because this is probably the most empty, disposible, and forgettable indie rock song I've heard. The lyrics also so melodramatic to the point of agonizing. Hard pass.
181. "O Me Voy O Te Vas" by Natanael Cano
I wasn't sure how Natanael Cano could be the father for corridos tumbados until I listened to this song. Like Todd always said that this song sounds like it has existed since the beginning of time and that's the appeal of it really.
191. "King Shit" by Shubh
I should've corrected myself that there's also a rise in rap songs made by the Punjabi community in Canada and things can get really messy there. They usually bring the sound that usually appeared on Punjabi or general Indian sound and make a rap song out of it. Honestly I should learn more about this because this genre could be big one day.
197. "When We Were Young (The Logical Song)" by David Guetta ft. Kim Petras
Meanwhile this song is not that and it's basically just David Guetta playing catchup on the rising trance comeback and it's just as empty as you expected.
I highly recommend everyone to listen to these songs.

Crossover scene, Nate & Aurora?
At first I wanted to go with an half-angsty scene (just saying... season 3 Michael...) but then no bc they deserve all the fluff!
Set between season 2 and 3, aka after The Mess. Aurora waits Nate to cope with that but after the third week he still haven't left his room so she just shows up and says "We're getting out of here". She doesn't mean go out, she means flying to Italy and spending at least two weeks there with Nate's Italian Squad (I really need to introduce them and Elliott's Dance Team lmao). Maybe also the Warblers go?
I have in my mind this montage of them just hanging out together and doing things and in each scene Nate is progressively happier and happier and this just gets me.
And more generally, Nate and Aurora in Italy is always God Tier.

Velma is bad, but...
Look. The show is not good. The memes are god tier. I’m gonna keep watching it. So here’s my complex opinion on the matter. I’m not watching it through official means so HBO is not getting any ad or sub revenue from me. I don’t pirate video games, but I do movies/shows/music because it’s easier and less time consuming. I was never a massive Scooby fan. The original cartoon predates me by an entire 20 years (1969 - I was born in ‘89). I’ve always known about it, it’s been in the peripheral of my media consciousness for my entire life. I think I saw one of the Live Action movies (the 2002 one, I was still in school). I probably caught a few episodes in my cartoon watching days but I’ve never been a puzzle solver and the “whodunnit” angle never grasped me. So I don’t have the nostalgia that the rest of the world seems to have, but I recognize character assassinations when I see one.
I admit I don’t hate Velma as much as the rest of the internet seems to.
I like the art style, admittedly. However I’ve caught some brief scenes where it looked rushed and less detailed and they just went with it. I actually quite enjoy the hallucinations, though they got a little less creative in episode 3 and 4 but they were also not a major focal point of the plot in either episode. Some jokes DO land. Some. Some jokes land, and then they turn around to ruin it. When Fred was taken to trial and the family tried to play up his innocent young boy shtick, they could have milked that for some real humor but instead he got water splashed on him and they went for a pretty low-bar Hitler joke instead. It was so close to a good joke. I’m not fond of the meta humor. I don’t like it when they made a dig at “adults watching cartoons”. Like bitch, this is a cartoon marketed towards adults. Why is there contempt for your target audience? And I’m a liberal, a leftist. I can handle some digs in our direction. GTA seems to do it the best, I had a giggle at the in-universe cartoon they had of the hero “Impotent Rage!”, making fun of Democrats ability to never really get anything done. I get the joke, it’s clever, it’s satire. But when characters in media stop the plot, and turn to the camera to complain about the patriarchy or whatever it irritates me. We all know the patriarchy is a thing. How about you have something clever to say. Episode 4 is a complete derailment of the plotline just to talk about women’s empowerment through attractiveness. The whole episode is just Velma figuring out that women’s empowerment can take different forms. It’s a fine message, but brought to us in a clunky and frankly, kind of annoying method. Especially since there’s supposed to still be a murder-mystery happening. Derailment is a thing that happens a lot in episodes 3 and 4. I didn’t hate episode 3 at all on its own. The first half had a lot of jokes I had a giggle at but it was just meandering around the plot to stop and figure out what Velma’s sexuality is (still inconclusive as of episode 4). I don’t mind a slow burn romance but fucking sort your shit out, show. I am “ehhhh” on Velma. I kinda like Daphne. I’m okay with Norville. He seems to be the most consistent source of jokes that don’t turn around on themselves. But Jesus, what they did to Fred should be a media crime. It’s just one of these situations where I feel like there’s some potential quality here buried under some really dogshit writing. I will not argue for a second that this is not a good show and I don’t think there’s anything any future episodes can do to retroactively “fix” the problems already present. I feel like a season 2 might have to do some heavy lifting (because I think I read somewhere that it’s already greenlit?) I still remain somewhat fascinated by it and I’m more curious to where the plot is going if it can stop stopping itself to turn towards the camera and stop hating on literally every viewer.

Game Of The Year Awards 2022
It's a new year and with that, we celebrate all the games we liked and disliked the past 12 months with our Game Of The Year Awards 2022. It's been a busy year and with so many games and so little time, it is inevitable that we may not have seen or played every game. With all that in mind let's get on with the awards... We start the awards with a category that lets us celebrate games released from other years, we called it an old new game but it could easily be the best-returning game or game we came back to.
Old new game of the year.
- Death Stranding. - Zelda Breath of the wild. - Assassin's Creed 2. - Zelda Cadence Of Hyrule. Not that many on the list but with so many new releases, it's always difficult to find time for game past. Retro In Genre, Not name: 7. Joe And Mac Caveman Ninja. 6. Missile Command Recharged. 5. Yars Recharged. 4. Breakout Recharged. 3. Shatter Remastered Deluxe. 2. Retro Goal. 1. House of the dead remake. This could have been the best new remaster or something but I thought why not be different? It was a good year for us oldies to relive our childhood!
Subscription service of the year.
1. Xbox Game Pass. 2.PlayStation 3. Nintendo Switch Online. Always a contentious category, subscriptions this year were up and down for Sony and Nintendo as both struggled to catch up with Xbox. This is technically Playstation's first year having the tiered subscription system but they haven't mastered it yet with many games absent, inconsistent backward-compatible game support, and the pricing. Nintendo is still Nintendo and I don't think they really have a clear picture of what they want but this year it was just a splattering of retro games and the odd bit of DLC. Microsoft continues to lead the pack with competitive pricing and a consistent release schedule of indie and AAA games.
Next up is the indie game of the year it was a strong year and all I regret is that I didn't have time to play more games! Indie games of the year: 10. tinyKin. 9. Little Orpheus. 8. The last hero of nostalgia. 7. Teardown. 6. Chained echoes. 5. Stray. 4. Thymesia. 3. Citizen Sleeper. 2. Cult Of The Lamb. 1. Vampire Saviours. If you only played these ten games then you had one hell of a year, as I said this is just a speck on the release calendar of indie games.
Now the category no one wants to do but it is a necessary evil... Disappointing game of the year: 8. Atari Mania. 7. Deathverse. 6. Save Room. 5. Somerville. 4. 41 Hours. 3. Puzzle Bobble 3D Vacation Odyssey. 2. Gotham Knights. 1. Pokemon Violet. Like I say, it's a necessary evil but these games are all here because it wasn't a smooth or enjoyable ride. But the top of the pile is the prime example. Pokemon Violet was and still is the most broken Pokemon game released whilst Gotham Knights felt empty, recycled, and not very fun. Related Post: Game of the year: Our Top 10 games of 2019 Now for a small recognition list of games I never got to and remembered that fact. Games I needed more time to play: Norco. Dwarf Fortress. Grounded 1.0. Callisto Protocol. Monkey Island. Tunic. Mario And Rabbids. God of War Ragnarock. Need For Speed Unbound. More time would have had these games on the other lists but alas it wasn't to be and now you K ow these games never made it off this list.
The next list is basically the second half of a much-needed top 20 games of 2022 but instead, I call it a close but not close enough because why not. The Close but not close enough Award: 10. Moonscars. 9.Terror Of Hemasaurus. 8. Doraemon Story Of Seasons Friends. 7. Super Woden GP. 6. Bayonetta 3. 5. Lil Gator. 4. Sonic Frontiers. 3. Xenoblade Chronicles 3. 2. Monster hunter Rise Sunbreak. 1. Rainbow Six Extraction. Right enough foreplay, let's get onto the reason you are here, this is the Gertlushgaming Game of The year 2022 list and you are welcome to disagree, just don't tell me!
Game of the year 2022: 10. Sword Of The Vagrant. 9. Modern Warfare 2. 8. Way Of The Hunter. 7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Cowabunga Collection. 6. Madden 23. 5. Overwatch 2. 4. NFL Pro Era. 3. Evil West. 2. Elden Ring. 1. Atari 50 The Anniversary Celebration. There you have it, as I went through reviews, replayed games, and generally put the work in, I went through the game by game until just one remained. A crazy year full of blockbusters and it was truly great fun going through as I honestly didn't know who would win until the end. Atari 50 The Anniversary Celebration is the Gertlushgaming game of the year for 2022 as it broke down barriers and set a new benchmark for how games like this are done. It gave an old gamer like me the chance to relive my childhood, rekindle memories and learn about how it all came to be, I cannot thank the devs enough for doing the Atari catalog justice and making this old gamer very happy in 2022 and beyond! Happy New Year to all of you! Well except for those that hate my list and for you, well have a slightly less happy new year, not a bad one just a mediocre one. Read the full article

Svar Watches BBC Robin Hood for the First Time - Season 3
Some of you may have seen my reactions to Season 1 and Season 2, well, here's the epic conclusion:
Well I can tell you right off the bat that the production, especially the costumes, have gotten a major glow-up, holy shit.
Damn we're starting off in a dark place. I mean, I guess I expected that, but even so.
It's been 5 minutes and I already miss Will and Djaq.
Guy is so unhinged now and it hurts my heart, but it's so interesting to watch. Also, the costuming glow-up and Armitage doing his thing means that Guy is now, in some respects, even hotter than before. For this to really get out of hand for me, though, he has to get a good redemption arc. That would just be top👌tier👌shit👌. I have no goddamn clue how that could happen at this point, though. Won't hold my breath.
So now that Marian is fucking dead and Djaq is off having her happily ever after with Will, I'm guessing Tuck is going to be the new voice of reason.
Ohoho Guy going Fuck Everything Actually But Especially The Sheriff And Also My Life with maximum emo is fucking zesty.
I like Kate. Her being a love interest for Much is a bit out of left field, but I could be into it if the narrative does the work to sell it.
Man, the real villain in this show is toxic masculinity.
I love how every time a recurring female character is grieving, Little John is like "hello, I'm your emotional support giant".
Lara Pulver???? Fuck yeah!
Holy shit she's Guy's sister????? And she's Robin's new love interest???? That's a spicy meatball.
Gotta say, Guy, being shitty to your sister is rapidly losing you attractiveness points.
OH MY GOD GUY ACTUALLY GOT TO STAB THE SHERIFF I AM LIVING YES BITCH KILL YOUR ABUSER!!!!
Aw dunk he's still alive. Boo. Well, either way, Guy has fallen out of the hands of one abuser into another, who has even more power.
Toby Stephens as Prince John is brilliant. He's so flighty and detestable. And pathetic in the way that only rich men are. This is reminding me of the tantrums of the bird app destroyer.
So I see from Isabella's behaviour with Robin that getting overly attached to the first person who's nice to them is a Gisborne family trait. Also going all super backstabby survival mode when they get put in a tight spot.
Meg is fucking great and I am so here for the women-supporting-women of her introduction. I want her to be besties with Isabella, even though Isabella is duplicitous af (albeit kinda understandably so).
So, uh, fuck Thornton. It was bad enough hearing from Isabella that he's awful, but now that we get to see him, I am absolutely revolted.
Oh, oh, I love watching Meg call Guy the fuck out for his, well, everything, and he just has to sit there and take it cause they're in prison. Get his ass, girl.
Wait...oh my god...oh my god IS GUY ACTUALLY GONNA HAVE A REDEMPTION ARC???? YOU'RE KIDDING HOLY SHIT POP ALL THE BOTTLES LADS
Aw...aw, Meg. I'm crying with you, Guy. T_T
The way Isabella started this season with "I'm nothing like my brother; there's nothing about him that I want to be" and then she proceeded to become exactly like her brother.
God, the cinematic parallels between Guy and Isabella are so strong and so tragic. Both abused, both prone to thinking in extremes, both trying so desperately to protect themselves and making all the wrong choices. But it's interesting how Isabella is descending into evil the same way Guy did the moment she's given a crumb of power by an evil man, while Guy is trying to be better after hitting rock bottom and getting told what's what by a mouthy peasant girl.
Kate turning out to actually be Robin's love interest is honestly a bit boring, but predictable, I suppose.
Damn, that Backstory™ episode was wild and soapy as fuck but it sure did some heavy lifting with the plot to get Robin and Guy united at last. A fucking half-brother between them named Archer. Jesus christ.
Guy's father being a leper kinda brings new context to the Sheriff derisively calling Marian a leper all of the time. Must have been a real twist in the gut every time Guy heard it.
Robin and Guy going to rescue Archer is giving Thor and Loki "get help" energy and I love it so much. More of this please.
So I see being a tricky little bastard and a romantic is something Archer shares with his siblings.
Oh my god the symbolism of Guy riding a white horse now.
Aw, Allan. T_T So it's a Boromir end for you, huh.
I'm scared to watch the finale because I just know it's going to hurt my heart somehow. Let Guy stab the Sheriff again, please?
GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYYYYYY *INCOHERENT SCREAMING AND CRYING*
"I lived in shame, but because of you, I die proud and free." I WILL NEVER BE OKAY AGAIN!!!!!!!! T_T
Yes, blow everything the fuck up. Die, assholes.
And there goes Robin too. God, I'll just be sobbing for the next several minutes, thanks.
Thank you for coming on this journey with me. I hope you enjoyed my screaming and crying. I hope you went "ohohoho just you wait girl" every time I saw or didn't see a twist coming.

Spunch Boob is such a good little man. Cutie Pie. Sweetheart boy. His design in the Patrick show? Okay so basically he’s baby. (Why does the Patrick show convey cute younger SpongeBob better than Kamp Koral, which is about cute younger sponge Bob? He is always adorable but y’know) anyway cherish the Spinge may he and his friends be happy
Spunchblop beloved💕 cutie patootie little yellow square. I'd sell my soul to him (I think I already have) he deserves everything good in his life <3
His design in the patrick star show is god tier. Its soooo cute. It was designed by Sherm Cohen who worked on the show in the early seasons.
I admit I was hoping his patrick star show designed was more nerdy. Like that nerdy teenage sponge photo spongebob showed in goons on the moon. But the patrick star show design was just too cute to stay sad about.
Anyways idk kamp koral is more like a spongebob 2 (Doug Lawrence literally called that) kamp koral spongebob just doesn't have much to him. You remove SB's adult traits (what made him so iconic was being an adult with childish traits) you're just left with a regular kid. That wouldn't be bad on its own. But they disnt really replace his adult traits. He just feels like a more bare bones version of spongebob. We don't see much cool firsts (maybe jellyfishing but we know he's going to achieve that regardless as an adult, so there's no mystery or anything to it, would've been better to see WHY he loves jellyfishing so much and reveal stuff that we wouldn't get to see in the main series)
There's just not much to it. His design isn't much spectacular. He just looks like a smaller spongebob. His movie design was at least a little more unique. His tv show design looks too similar with his regular adult self look.
That's not even mentioning how the atmosphere of kamp koral is just regular spongebob without the advantages of adulthood. Sponge can't explore his surroundings as freely because he's a child. He's kept within the kamp. It feels pretty limited. He's in the spotlight just the same as the main series but he can't do as much. It's like a more limited main series. Half the time the episodes feel like a watered down version of the main series.
We don't get to see spongebob as much in the patrick star show but when we do, it feels pretty special. I think its an advantage that the show is from Patrick's pov. We get to see things through his eyes and we get to see sponge when he's not in the spotlight to the viewer. He isn't as excitable. He's cool and calm but he's a pretty amusing teenager to watch. He's also still in that half way point where he's not quite an adult but not quite a child like in the main series. We get to see his cool firsts. First time driving a boat. His interest in trying to get a job. Him being sorta fixated on spatulas. Him seeing a pineapple for sale. But he's not the focus. We see more geeky traits shine through like his love of comic books which doesn't get touched as much in the main series as often. He's more down to earth and a bit timid in the patrick show which is nice to see. He comes off as much much cuter.
Also while we're in bikini bottom. It feels different since everything is sorta bended to how patrick sees things. So there's stuff you usually wouldn't see. And while they're still kids, they aren't as limited as little kids are. They can walk around and explore. Literally taking a time machine to the past xD there's more possibilities for story telling.
I know its not a huge comparison but the small differences really sell his character for me and he feels more like someone you'd actually be friends with in the patrick show.
#Im just rambling#It doesn't make much sense but here ya go#Ask#the spongebob connoisseur#spongebob#Kamp koral#the patrick star show

Follower Survey Results!
I put out a fun little follower survey about a week and a half ago, and the results are in!
46 of you lovely folks filled out my survey! So thank you very much for that!!
Over half of you are 20 or less, which doesn't really surprise me. The rest are mostly 21-29, with very few older than that.
A solid half of you live in the US! And at least one of you would like a word with Men at Work.
Honestly the fact that over half of you have been here for more than 6 months is very sweet so thank you <3
Most of you found me through someone you follow who was following me, which is cool. Special shoutout to the people who found me because of my fic, art, gifs, or the soundtrack project though - I love all of you especially and that makes my heart very happy.
Obsessed with this tbh
A lot of you made up your own answers for this one, which I loved. But I also loved that nearly 30% of you love it when I just have a whole ass conversation with myself in the tags. I love that too. I'm glad we're on the same page.
This is a bit confusing to look at! But essentially, S2 was picked as the favourite season most often, and S6 was picked as the favourite season least often. S6 was also picked as least favourite season most often, but S4 was picked as the least favourite season least often. I hope that makes sense. If not feel free to keep scrolling and disregard me lol
I'm not going to post the other season charts, but S2 was the clear favourite for plot while S6 was the clear least favourite. Music was a bit more mixed, with a first place tie between S2 and S4, but S6 was still voted least favourite most often. Apparently you really like season 2, and really don't like season 6.
Unsurprised at the Kurt love and absolutely thrilled at the Mercedes love!! Second place yes babe you go girl! And sorry to the characters I left out, you're appreciated too I just wanted to limit the length of the question.
Nothing here surprises me but I am absolutely obsessed with "I put Finn for both... sorry..." lmao
(the full answer was "I put Finn on both… sorry. 🤪 That’s just the nature of our relationship. Sometimes up… sometimes down." but I love where it gets cut off in the chart label)
The only thing you need to know about this chart is that of the 3 people who said they don't even sometimes multiship, 2 claim to ship Klaine, Seblaine, and Blam (among others). I'm afraid I have some news for you about what multishipping is, friends.
Klaine was the most popular ship (70%) followed by Brittana (61%) and Samcedes (59%). Sorry to the people who were unimpressed that I left out Samchel and St. Hummel. And @ the person who put "Wes/Kurt but only for the meme feel free to disregard" I will NOT be disregarding that is a god tier ship
Kurtofsky (64%), Blainofsky (50%), and Seblaine (43%) were the most disliked ships. Interestingly, over a quarter of you actively dislike my favourite ship, which does make me question how you manage to tolerate me enough to stick around, but I'm grateful for your presence even if we do have different opinions!
Other fun bits:
38 of you actually left your urls! So that's cool thanks! That being said: whoever follower me for Glee but got hyped when I also posted Fringe. You didn't leave your url but I need to know who you are.
Five of you have Kurtbastian filtered (though not necessarily because of me), two of you filter Puckurt, and one of you filters Kelliott because of me which lowkey blows my mind ngl I feel like that's such a tame ship, but I respect you nonetheless. You do you babe, curate your online space.
To the person who rambled and said they hope I don't publish it anywhere; I will not publish it lol, but I hope you're happy with how liked Blaine seems to be in these results!
So many of you just said such nice things, and I'm not going to post them all but I do want to say thank you, you are all so sweet and I really appreciate you taking the time to fill this out!!

Friday Check In Fumetsu no Anata e (To your Eternity) Ok so episode 3 - good lord, please, this show is god tier. I don't know if it's the aesthetics, the originality of the story line, the animation style or the music but everything about it is incredible. I wanted to buy the manga the other day but for some reason manga collecting is now everyone's hobby and everything is sold out. Will be a goal for the future. Log Horizon Finally done season 2. Took me a bit longer than usual but, life's life. I think the first season was better, as things usually are. This was fun but the second half with the moon and navigators and stuff got a bit out there, though the ending was very wholesome. I still plan to watch season 3 while i'm into it, but we'll see. It's also a pain to hop back and forth between platforms - Funimation has season 1 and 3 while crunchyroll has season 2. Which is weird. Pretty Boy Detective Club Episode 3 - I always forget how much I love the character design and the style of this show. It's so pretty!! Definitely a weird one, but very enjoyable - I also like how the "chapters" are titled and divvied up throughout the episode. So I'm a Spider So What Episode 15 - I'm kind of getting bored with this show tbh. Initially it was an interesting concept but it's fairly slow and each episode is starting to feel similar. Episode 16 - yet another massive enemy at the end, but hey, i think we're getting closer to everyone meeting and we got a direct comparison of power between the humans and the spider so that's kinda fun. Slime Diaries I'm really more excited for the new episodes of Slime -but it seems there's no new episodes until slime diaries is done - so I need to get on to watching that for now. Now Watching: One Piece - Episode 607 right now, i'll probably watch quite a few over this weekend. Kyoukai no Katanate (Beyond the Boundary) - This one is a bit of a longer term project since I want to focus on the current seasons new shows. Radiant - I will finish this in one go this time now that it's all out. Plan to Watch: Eden Zero Bakuten Mars Red Sentouin, Hakenshimasu! Shaman King Odd Taxi

IM BORED. my top three farscape eps from each season::::::: looking at these i think season two has the best EPISODE concepts (it was hard choosing faves from that season bc i love so many) but season 4 is my favorite for just,,,,,,, the hecking Yearning + domestication in each episode but i dont particularly favor the episodes themselves
Season 1:
through the looking glass - i always saw this ep as being the first completely filler ep that really felt like farscape with the crew all working together and having a VERY CUTE little laugh about it at the end. i love the vagueness of it, it’s not annoying or cliche??? and i’m particularly fond of the yellow moya scenes like rygel’s like “shall i disrobe so it will be memorable” is one of my fave lines from him.
a human reaction - mY TRASH. MYYYY TRASH. just one of those farscape eps that are so Abstract in concept, they are just Default Faves for me like Always haha. so many good little j/a crumbs, the kiss in this ep is one of my BIG FAVES, i love everything about that scene and the ones leading up to it. LOVE THE RAIN SCENE. it’s probably the very first time john is like ‘maybe Earth bad’ and,,, ‘maybe space girl Good’ and i love that thruline of the show. this ep stands soooooo far apart from the majority of season 1 for me.
nerve: the hidden memory - “THE RADIANT AERYN SUN.” stark isn’t unbearable in his debut episodes woah! i like him as a sad boy who isnt a plot device! love gilina, love her death (rip), love seeing how far john and aeryn have come since they’d last seen her, love aeryn and crais’s interaction in this episode like YES GIRL SLAY, love whenever aeryn has to juggle with feeling WEAK and having to put her big girl pants on to save her himbo, love any interaction between d’argo and aeryn LOVE THAT.
Season 2:
crackers don't matter - the DIALOGUE in this episode is Insane and i LOVE IT i think there are so many line deliveries in this ep that are so memorable and Iconic they all just live in my mind rent FREE. i wish the commentary for this episode wasn’t about the more practical aspects of it because UUUHUUH i genuinely would love to just Absorb the mindset behind it. GOD TIER FILLER.
out of their minds - i am such a whore for body swap tropes it’s humiliating. another ep with a lot of iconic line deliveries! i love cb playing as john! love that for her! bb as rygel too is amazing i love all their stupid accent switching SO MUCH. love the skeksis love that they joke about them looking like skeksis because it’s jim henson and they can DO THAT.
won't get fooled again - any time i think about this ep im like man how Opened Third Eye was it to have john just immediately be like “haha ok this is fake lmao” like it’s so SUBVERSIVE in what it does pretty much right off the bat in introducing the moya crew as “normal” humans. eps like these are just ALWAYS my faves in tv series because of how crazy they can get and this one does and i love it so much for that.
Season 3:
scratch n' sniff - any time i get the moya crew on a pleasure planet or at a rave im like HELLO. :) I LOVE RAXIL she’s such a funky little freak. describing this ep is so weird its like Oh Yeah The Boob Juice Sucking One. JUST JOHN AND D’ARGO BEING BACHELORS, WHAT BLISS. i wish i got more john + d’argo shenanigans in this show ‘cause they are like such a fave together dynamically mwah mwah mwah. <3
into the lion's den: wolf in sheep's clothing - its a little crazy how much i Hate the first half of this two-parter which is super PANDERY AND BAD and then the last half is like so Insane and such a good close for the season. EVERYONE’S SO MISERABLE. the scorp shots with the imploding ship and the water UGHGUGHUGH <33333 love aeryn in this love her trying to save the Peacekeepers, love JOHN, love the little scientist nerd who works under Scorp i forget his name WHOOPS he has a nice design. THE CRAIS + TALYN DEATH IS SO GOOD;;;; LOVE THAT FOR THEM;;;;; <3333
dog with two bones - i think the fact that literally no other tv show has pulled THIS MESS off really speaks to the uniqueness of farscape and its ABILITY TO TELL ROMANCE??? theres so much in this that is just like WOWOWOWOW THIS EP IS SO GOOD. the part where they kill the rogue leviathan and rygel is celebrating on the comms and it transitions to aeryn Going Insane in her prowler over everything that’s happening. FIRE. the dog with two bones analogy UGHGUGHGUGH <333333 I LOVE THE AERYN > EARTH THRULINE WITH JOHN SO MUCH ITS JUST AT ITS PEAK HERE WHICH MAKES IT GREAT BY DEFAULT. the coin scene is SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD THE ENDING SCENE OF THIS EPISODE IS SOOOO GOOOOOD.
Season 4:
john quixote - MY FAVE EP OF THE SERIES LOL. love the COSTUMING love the POP CULTURE REFERENCES love that its SEASON 4 love that we GET A ZHAAN CRAIS JOOL AND STARK CAMEO. another conceptually abstract episode so of course i love it lol. love the scene in the end with john and zhaan where he’s kinda a sad boy!!!!! actually funny story about this ep the first time i watched this i was in elementary school still, i grew up on this show this is my Nostalgia Baby series, and did not know what the word “porn” was so like for a very concerning amount of time i always assumed “porn” was an Alien Word and not a real word. BECAUSE LIKE, in context you see chiana holding up a Gooey Boy and going “and this? porn!” and that was all i had to go by the end.
crichton kicks - I LOOOOVE SAD JOHN. I LOVE HIM. I love the character beats we get out of a john that CHOSE THE GIRL over his home and instead of GETTING HER he is punished for it, losing his chance at BOTH OUTCOMES like mentioned in “dog with two bones” despite him having chosen One of the options and not both. love the introduction to 1812 whenever john gets a named thing i am like Yes. :~) my boy, my little man. he’s a little crazy and a little sad.
terra firma - the YEARNING in this ep man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this ep waters my CROPS one of my Biggest Fave scenes is when Aeryn and Jack are in her prowler talking about john and he’s like Do You Wish You Were Human and she doesnt answer and im like LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more of that John Not Vibing With Earth Anymore trope which I LOVE. literally all fics surrounding this episode i will SNORT LIKE CRACK.
#its so funny having to decide a third choice for season 3 i was like#ugh............. i dont like any of these.......................................#sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#the question is do i do a Least Favorite ep list and potentially get BLASTED#honorable mentions?????#love A Clockwork Nebari :)#love the What Was Lost eps theyre some of my most frequently watched COULDNT TELL U WHY I JUST REALLY ENJOY THEM#also Lava's a Many Splendored Thing

Any anime recommendations?(besides mha)
OOF
Funny enough I don't even recommend the MHA anime LOL. Anyway.
My taste is pretty basic, not gonna lie. I doubt anything I can recommend knowing what I'm recommending is anything most people haven't seen. But I will do my best.
Just anime? Or manga too? 😭
Here is my list of current and completed series, but it's mostly, if not all, manga. I recommend pretty much everything on those lists (otherwise I wouldn't have/wouldn't be currently spending time on them 🌝).
But, since you said anime, I'll just stick with the anime I know are good (imo).
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood <-------the Brotherhood is very important. I really fucking hate the first anime and don't know why it even exists tbh. BROTHERHOOD. Also, I highly recommend the English dub. Usually, I don't. But for this particular anime the English dub cast was top tier (a lot of them are in the BNHA dub actually..though I still prefer bnha sub) and idk, it just really gets the story across really well with the English cast.
Fruits Basket: 2019 <------there are two Fruits Basket anime. The first one from 2001 stops at volume 6 (out of 23 total 😬) and has a shitty ending. The remake created in 2019 covers the whole story (well, most of it). However, if you want a good laugh, the 2001 version English dub is....hilarious. I will give it that. It's fucking hilarious. If you just want to laugh and not take it too seriously, just watch like the first half of the 2001 series in English lmao. For the 2019 I personally recommend the Japanese cast, because they used the same cast from the 2001 series and it doesn't fit the dark tone of the actual full storyline. That's just my preference though. Also, this is a love story at its core. The kind of love story that gives you butterflies lol.
Ouran High School Host Club: Oh how I wish this one would get the Fruits Basket treatment and get a remake covering the entire story. But alas. The anime is fun, it's goofy, it's ridiculous. But it's insanely popular for a reason. This anime literally has the same English cast as FMAB, so I recommend either/or, Japanese or English. It's great both ways. (this is a love story also, but unfortunately the anime doesn't capture that)
**fun fact, the first three listed here are all women creators :)
K Project: This one is really good, and is better as an anime because that was what it was first, before being broken down into different manga series (which I also recommend). There are segments to the anime though, it goes K Project (first season)---> K: Missing Kings (a movie that bridges the two seasons and is necessary)---> K: Return of Kings (season 2)---> K: Seven Stories (dives into different characters' pasts--because big cast). If you like shows with big casts where all of them get focus, and there's a ton of shit going on all at once that all meets at one endpoint, then this is the series for you. Warning though, unfortunately there are two fan service characters you have to stomach through. It's not so god awful it can't be ignored, but it's annoying at best. But again, it's not prevalent enough to take away from the whole series.
Durarara!!: I mean this one is old and it's insanelyyyyy popular. I prefer the manga, 100x more than the anime due to how confusing the anime gets with the storyline, but many many people like the anime for what it is. And I do too, as it's entertaining as fuck. There is also a second series called Durarara!! x2, which is basically a sequel (both series follow the manga, just....out of order), and Drrr!!x2 has 3 seasons within itself. But this series is good. I'm reading it currently and fucking LOVING it. The anime is super fun and ridiculous in a good way, highly recommend. This one is super unique. It has a large cast and several different POVs (the manga is split up into series covering the different POVs), and there aren't really any side characters, as pretty much everyone plays a decently relevant role in all of the story's conflicts. There are only 4 characters who seem to dominate above the rest of the cast, and they aren't even technically the main protagonists (anyone who knows this series probably knows who these characters are lolol)
Charlotte: idk if there is a manga but I watched the anime and it slapped. It's like 20 something episodes, it's fun, has conflict, lots of emotions, and a pretty decent conclusion.
Darker Than Black: this is pretty much just an anime. It has two seasons. It's been years since I watched it, and I've been meaning to rewatch it ASAP, but this one also is insanely good.
Silver Spoon: I'm planning to read the manga for the full story, but the anime was fun. It's a good breather from tons of action if you're needing something light hearted. ***same author/creator as FMAB :)
Death Note: highly recommend, but....most people have seen or read this LOL
#personal recs#anime recommendation#i'm much more of a manga person#but#certain ones are just better as an anime#darker than black and k project being great examples#god i need to rewatch darker than black#i hope these maybe introduced you to some new stuff#but i doubt it lolol#anime#manga#anonymous#tbh i have watched more anime than this#i got a decent way into the monogatari series#but it lost me#it's not that great#i have a few anime under my belt that i think sucked ass and wouldn't recommend lolol
