#the emrys project mini arc

I never thought I’d be writing for either of these two fandoms, but imagine my surprise when I discovered the prompt in Whumptober and I just had to. Both of them were comfort fandoms, and well, sometimes you don’t ever truly leave them.
The first in this is Merlin! Yes, the BBC version - it was a complete let-down when we got to the end, only to discover the series had been cancelled. I was screaming, and so in retaliation, I had created my own series 6 because I needed to come up with my conclusion. As part of the universe, I had come up with a little storyline where the Camelot folk would end up in a quaint, magical town within Maine… but unfortunately life happened, and I had to abandon it.
… until now, that is.
The arc is small, and I might consider working on the true series 6 as a larger project later, but we’ll talk about that in another post! For now, let’s get right to it, yes?
DRUMROLL PLEASE!
For those who aren’t aware, the magical town in Maine is in fact, none other than Storybrooke!
I’ve had this idea for several years now, and just couldn’t resist the temptations. Merlin and OUAT is such a perfect combination, and much better than the other Merlin cast used in the series because holy cow, from what I remember, it was awful. Hence why this is about BBC Merlin.
Though I’m sure you’re curious as to what I’m cooking, so… now let’s officially bring a little magic back!
Plot/Summary
Storybrooke’s curse has broken, but with it comes a new age of magic… and hope. In a distant town, a certain sorcerer feels something big is on the horizon, and well, who knows what might happen now?
In other words, Merlin’s connected somehow to the magic of Storybrooke and in impromptu trip leads him and his coven, that is to say, his friends to uncover a world beyond their imagination.

OK so it’s a little late for New Years resolutions but let’s review my Quest List/plan for my series.
1 - Ruler and Empress, AKA Lian’s story. I tend to want to take a lot of time on these, both because they’re long and because I want them to be polished.
I know exactly what I want to happen in the next installment, but it’s been on the backburner for a while, which I feel a little bad about because A) people like it and B) it’s inching ever closer to something that I would call Finished. I’m bad at finishing things and the prospect of getting to a satisfying ‘end point’ (even if I keep going with little drabbles beyond that) on a long project is tantalising. Gonna be working on this this month and next.
2 - Aedan’s story. This was my nano project, the skeleton and a lot of the meat is there but it needs to be reworked and filled out in places. You probably won’t see most of this until it’s actually done, but I will try and put out a few things so readers here aren’t on so much of a cliffhanger. Thinking of doing like a little mini-nano or similar project in Feb or March on this?
3 - Galen and Everet. These started as little low-pressure things I didn’t have to worry about polishing up a lot during Nano. I think they’re getting bigger and more polished now - whoops - but they still feel lower pressure than either of the above things. Going to keep adding to them bit by bit, probably less of an ‘arc’ to them though. They’re also going to be a lot less angsty/whumpy from here on out, which I worry people might get bored of and wander off, but it is what it is, that doesn’t matter much.
4 - TJ and Danny/Path Verse stuff. Similar to G and E, I kinda wanted to keep these as episodic and not plotty, but a plot is taking shape behind my eyes regardless. We’ll see how much of it actually gets out there.
5 - Assorted other backburner things from his blog - the latest one about Consort Rill, the Emry ones, anything about Mage Rill. These are all little edge bits of much bigger stories that I don’t think I have the energy to devote what they deserve to them. Might get a little work if the mood takes me.
6 - Liminal Loyalties, my Dragon Age fic from before I started this blog. It’s... taken a backseat for several months but that’s OK, I’ll go back to it, I always go back to it eventually. There’s just so much more engagement on here for comparatively less effort, heh. Will definitely get back to it but I don’t know when.
#I don't know if to-do lists actually make me more productive#or they just make me FEEL like I'm productive#hmmm
