everybody who has supposedly had stockholm syndrome that ive read about their response to that "diagnosis" or accusation has said that it's a degrading and untrue label and that they were acting in the only way they thought would guarantee their survival. and oftentimes theyre accused of the disorder because they were uncooperative with the police while their captors were either literally in the room with them or like in the next room over & because at the point where they were discovered a lot of the time police were either already supposed to be keeping an eye on their captors bc they were like. fucking on parole from having kidnapped or assaulted someone previously and were doing checkins and just like... didn't... notice... that they had a captive in their homes or bc people had repeatedly already called the police to be like hey i think somethings going on hey i think this is a missing person hey i think these people are acting strangely and one of them seems under duress and the police had either completely blown them off or had shown up looked at the situation and been like well everything seems in order here and i don't give a fuck. like no shit theyre not going to be cooperative with a group that has already shown that they will not help and do not care about the victims. fucking stupid fake victim-blaming condition
