You‘ve never understood the “hype” around weed.
Granted, you’d grown up in a very anti-drug household, so you went into high school with the mindset that whatever long term negative effects occurred after smoking weed would far outweigh the momentary high you’d heard people talk about on so many occasions.
Except, you’d never expected yourself to acquaint yourself with Hwang Intak: one of the most popular kids in senior year, Intak was well-known for his chill house-parties and phenomenal dance skills—a total catch and in with the so called “it-group”, he wasn’t someone you saw yourself ever interacting with, let alone befriending.
That was, of course, before you realized you shared nearly half your classes with him.
You weren’t very popular—sure, people knew you (it was impossible not to when you’d befriended a hoard of social butterflies and were known at least visually for your intimidating, no-nonsense RBF), but you’d never truly made friends with any of the kids higher up in the social hierarchy than “is friends with popular kids but isn’t actually popular themselves”.
So imagine your surprise when, on a seemingly random Tuesday morning during one of your double accounting periods, Hwang Intak strolled up to your desk with a friendly smile on his face, his voice light and airy as he asked, “You’re Y/N, right?”
From there, you’d started talking more and more, until one day he cornered you on your way to your locker after your sixth period, leaning against the wall as he spoke.
“You free this weekend?” he asked.
You raised your brow skeptically, looking warily over your shoulder at people making grouchy faces at having to step around you to get to where they needed to go. “I don’t think so, why?”
He grabbed your forearm and pulled you into his bubble and out of the way of the bustling student body.
You gulped up at him, cursing the heat you felt crawling up your throat at the closeness between you.
“I’m having a small get together with some friends to celebrate my birthday,” he said, putting his hands in his pocket as he tilted his head against the brick wall next to you. “I was wondering if you’d wanna join.”
Your eyes widened. “Me?”
“Yeah.”
“Uhm… I mean, I—yeah, sure, I’ll be there,” you coughed, thanking the heavens above he seemed not to be focusing on your neck; you could feel how hot you’d gotten without needing to check first.
“Cool,” he said. “I’ll see you this weekend.” He smiled charmingly and began walking towards the staircase (where you belatedly realized a group of his friends were waiting for him), but panicked a little realizing you had no idea where to meet him.
“Intak!”
He turned around with a hum, his eyebrows raised ever so slightly.
You cleared your throat, rocking on the balls of your feet. “Where are we meeting?”
“Ah,” he laughed, walking back to you with a grin so captivating you were surprised your mouth wasn’t hanging open. “You have a pen?”
“A—uh, yeah, hold on, lemme just” —you dug around in your bag for your pencil case before pulling out a black pen and handing it to him, perplexed.
Your eyes widened when he reached once again for your forearm, ducking his head as he shook the pen out and began writing what you assumed was his number on your exposed skin, drawing a weirdly symmetrical, grinning heart with little devil-horns and a tail at the end.
“There we go,” he said, tucking the pen into your emblem pocket with a boyish grin.
He laughed at your bewildered expression as he backtracked toward his friends, the look he gave you sending a hoard of butterflies loose in the pit of your stomach. “See you soon, Y/N! I’ll text you the details!”
“I, uh” —you pinched yourself— “yeah, okay!”
Now, you’re probably wondering—what does any of that have to do with weed?
Well… maybe it’s easier to just show you.
“Y/NNNN!” Intak grinned at you from his couch, shamelessly eyeing you up and down as you walked sheepishly into his living room.
You waved awkwardly, feeling heat creep up the column of your throat when he giggled and waved back, a dumb grin on his face.
You fiddled with the hem of your white skirt, tugging the sleeves of your black Kuromi sweater over your fingers as one of Intak’s older friends, Choi Jiung, ushered you to sit between Intak’s legs.
“So…” You cleared your throat, crossing your spread legs at the ankles so you didn’t have to worry about accidentally exposing anything you didn’t want exposed. You forced a relaxed smile. “What are we doing?”
Jiung laughed good-naturedly, pulling a girl you didn’t recognize into his lap. “We’re smoking,” he said with a smile, his eyebrows furrowing in curiosity as he asked, “Have you smoked before?”
You hummed uncertainly, fiddling with your fingers—the heat of Intak’s legs against your arms was making it incredibly difficult to think. “No, I don’t really smoke…”
The girl in Jiung’s lap’s eyes widened. “What? Never?”
You shook your head.
“Not even once?”
“No,” you whispered, resisting the sudden urge to spring up and dash for the door.
“Ash,” Intak reprimanded, shifting in his seat.
Just as you were about to turn your head to look at him, his breath hit the back of your ear, his hands on your shoulders and a smile in his voice.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” he assured you. “It’ll help you relax, though.”
He massaged your shoulders to emphasize his point and you tried very hard not to squeak in surprise.
Since when was Hwang Intak so good with his hands?
“You wan’ a hit?” Jiung offered, holding a joint out to you with wide eyes and raised brows; weirdly innocent-looking considering the situation you were in.
You swallowed a lump in your throat.
On the one hand, you were kind of scared. What if all those things your parents had said were true? That one hit meant you’d be a goner forever and start doing hardcore drugs because you’d started with the “Gateway”? That if you started now you’d become immediately enslaved to the high and never recover?
But, despite those worries, despite those fears…
Intak hadn’t stopped massaging your shoulders—rather, he’d dragged his hand to the base of your neck, gently pressing his forefinger against your pulse-point before sliding it down to brush across your exposed collarbone.
Thank the heavens he chose not to comment on the shiver that shot up your spine, but it was clear in the little huff of air behind you that he found your reaction amusing.
Really, you were curious. And maybe you wanted to impress him.
Just a little bit.
So you nodded, smiling awkwardy as Ash—Jiung’s girlfriend(?)—whooped and clapped with an obnoxious laugh of encouragement.
You took the already-lit joint from Jiung, holding it between your pointer finger and thumb, inspecting it.
Intak giggled, “Just put it to your lips and pull.” His chest expanded with the amount of air he sucked in through his teeth, letting out an exhale with an exaggerated grunt of relief.
You nodded uncertainly, releasing a nervous breath before bringing the joint up to your lips.
“There we go,” he whispered next to your ear, his chin resting on your shoulder as his hands ran up and down your arms; bold from the cannabis or because you were in his house, you didn’t know.
Not that you really cared, anyway.
You mimicked Intak’s movements and set the roll down in a coughing fit, waving your hand in front of your face like it’d stave off the aching burn traveling from the back of your throat all the way through to your lungs.
It took a couple of seconds for you to stop coughing, looking around the room with your hand fisted in front of your mouth and tears pooling in the corners of your eyes.
You met the expectant eyes of Ash and Jiung—and then you… laughed. And you laughed a little more, and some more, until you were giggling dumbly because why were they looking at you like that!
“Atta girl!” Jiung hooted, leaning far back into his chair before taking another hit from his own blunt.
“How d’you feel?” Intak asked, his eyes lighting up when you turned your head to look at him proper. His pupils were visibly dilated, sucking you in a little like a black hole.
You grinned, leaning back against his knee.
“I feel good,” you slurred, letting your eyes roam his face and grinning when he seemed to smile brighter because of it. “Really good,” you admit.
“Yeah?” Intak said, licking his lips. “Calmer?”
“Mmm…” You dragged your lower lip between your teeth and indulged in the wonderful cartwheel your stomach did as Intak watched the motion with rapt attention.
“Now,” Ash clapped her hands together, wiggling her eyebrows with a devilish smirk. “Let’s play truth or dare.”
“Y/N!” Ash yelled, completely indifferent to Jiung’s lips attached to her neck, “truth or dare?”
You hummed playfully, still leaned back against Intak’s leg.
You’d mellowed out considerably since you had your first pull around twenty minutes ago—you were leaning against Intak like it was normal and the hand he was running through your hair didn’t even make you bat an eye.
“Dare,” you said with a grin, light and happy and relaxed—more relaxed than you’d been during summer break!
Ash grinned mischievously, bringing a hand up to pull at Jiung’s hair, looking at him over her shoulder with a vicious smile. “I dare you to kiss Intak.”
“That’s boring,” Jiung panted, his cheeks tinged pink as he licked his lips and watched Ash with a furrowed brow, head tilted back with her firm grip in his hair.
She rolled her eyes, but turned to you and said, “Fine. I dare you to kiss Intak’s tongue.”
You licked your lips with an excited giggled, using Intak’s knees to push yourself up before turning around to smile at him with a happy sway in your step.
Intak watched you with a lazy grin as you walked between his legs, setting your hands beside his waist and leaning forward at a 90° angle to connect your mouths in an easy kiss.
“Yah!” Ash laughed, the sound breaking the two of you apart. “That’s not his tongue!”
You giggled and waved her off, looking down at Intak with hooded eyes.
“Stick your tongue out,” you ordered, staring at his mouth like a starved animal.
Intak grinned, watching you like a puppy watches his owner as he obediently stuck his tongue out, leaning cockily back into the couch.
With a surprising ease, you leant down and touched your lips to his tongue, so intrigued by the feel of it you gave it a little kitten lick of your own.
Intak groaned as he grabbed you by the back of your neck and pulled you in for a very heated kiss, sticking his tongue in your mouth and tilting his head for better access.
You were on cloud nine and vaguely floaty, setting your hands on his upper thighs to keep yourself from wobbling over.
You only pulled away after Jiung let out a low whistle, Intak, lips red and swollen with a possessive hand on the nape of your neck and a hungry, nearly insatiable look in his eyes.
“Well, shit,” Ash laughed, leaning back against Jiung’s shoulder. “Didn’t think you had it in you, Y/Nie.”
You licked your lips as Intak leant up to press a chaste kiss to the corner of your lip, a confused noise leaving you when he suddenly pushed himself to standing.
You felt a little flip in the pit of your stomach at how tall he suddenly felt now that you weren’t towering over him, biting on your lip as he grabbed your hand.
“Let’s go to my room, hm?” he asked, not really waiting for an answer as he lead you to the stairs. “Get some privacy.”
You waved to Jiung and Ash (though neither of them waved back because they’d opted to start sucking each other’s faces off), watching with a growing fire the way Intak’s back muscles moved when he walked.
“You’re a good kisser,” you complimented as he lead you upstairs, laughing when he brought you into his room. He shut but did not lock the door behind him.
“Yeah?” he smirked. “How good?
“Very,” you assured, eagerly standing on the tips of your toes and wrapping your arms around his shoulders so you could keep kissing him.
“Mmm,” he hummed against your lips, guiding you back until the two of you were laying flat on the edge of his bed, his hands running up to trace the bare skin under your shirt. “You’re not so bad yourself.”
You nipped his lip, sighing into his mouth when he gave your waist a little squeeze. “I’m a little out of practice,” you panted.
He chuckled, pulling away to give you a devilish smirk. “We can practice.”
And so practice you did.

NOVEMBER 20, 2024 SELF PARA
Cage & Cordelia are honeymooning in Wyoming from November 16th through 22nd when they receive a phone call on the 21st from Colton that changes their lives forever. Gentle warning that the self para contains brief mentions of death and parental loss, as well as anxiety. Written with @cordelianewman!
He had heard it a hundred times: there were always going to be little moments in your life that defined who you were. What kind of husband, father, lover... man. Good things and bad things that happened to you, around you, shaped you in ways that you couldn't have ever imagined, and whether or not you saw them coming, they were still going to happen.
Cage just hadn't expected it to happen on his honeymoon.
Life since the wedding had been a delightful combination of 'bliss' and 'as you were.' Cordelia had resumed classes, that delicate balance between student, mother and wife, and Cage had gone back into the folding, working diligently in the shop at orders that they needed to get done by Christmas time, visiting the job site that they were currently working on, barking orders and picking kids up after various practices and school hours. Colton and Shawn were busy prepping for playoff football, and Rosalyn... well, she would always rule the house. By the time that Saturday morning had rolled around and Cage found himself setting down his suitcase, nearly tackling his wife onto the oversized bed with a rumbling laugh that matched her giggle... 'as you were' had melted away completely into bliss.
And the week had been good to them so far, spending their time adventuring through wildlife tours, spending quality time in their private hot tub, long walks in Grand Teton National Park, horseback riding, and of course, most importantly, spending time with each other. Those might have been his favorite moments, waking up next to her, a leg thrown loosely over his, delicate fingers tracing shapes through the sparse smattering of blonde hairs on his chest, that familiar scent of her shampoo connecting past and present in his brain. Every morning, he woke up grateful, basked in the glow, the golden warmth; every morning, he made love to her like it would be the first and last time that he ever had the chance to touch her, kiss her, be with her.
Until the phone rang on Wednesday, before either of them had woken, before the sun had even finished rising, before they were ready for what was to come.
Groaning, pressing up from her stomach, blonde hair cascading over her face, brushing it out of the way. “I swear if that’s a telemarketer I will absolutely instill the fear of everything into them.” Leave it up to Cordelia willing to threaten someone just doing their job, but she really was just tired from being up far too late. Those late nights in the hot tub and lost bikinis that turned into nights in bed were really catching up.
"Hopefully just a wrong number," he murmured, pushing himself up, onto his arm to lean over his wife, picking up his phone and squinting in the dark. But the name rang alarm bells, and Cage found himself sitting up quickly, his voice hoarse with leftover sleep, "it's Colton -- hey, kid, everything okay?"
"Can you come home?"
The panic that ran through him was sudden, heavy, a vice grip around his heart, squeezing in his chest, holding tight. "What's wrong? Are you okay? Is your sister okay?" His siblings, Cordelia's siblings, the barn, the house, his business, had something happened in town, were the animals okay -- he was reminded of the time that he had taken the call from the home nurse, asking him to come home from his trip with Colton, to be there for his father, to spend some time at home.
When he mentioned that it was Colton, she squinted to look at the clock, it was super early there in Jackson Hole, Wyoming but that meant it was still early-ish in Merrock. Shifting onto her side she brushed her hair back again and shifted to sit up, pulling the sheet tight around her slim frame as she leaned over pulling on her nightgown. Furrowing her brows she shifted to move closer to Cage and leaned her head in, trying to hear the conversation and what was going on. By the way Cage was acting it wasn’t good.
"I'm okay, Rosalyn's okay, Shawn -- it's, his parents, dad."
It came pouring out of his son then; Shawn's parents were gone. The details, in that moment, didn't matter. Cage wanted to feel relief, he wanted to feel at ease that Colton, Rosalyn and Shawn were okay, that it wasn't his brothers or sisters, but it didn't come when everything flowed through his mind -- playing football with Travis, sleepovers for his birthday, Cordelia and Maddie hanging out after practice as kids. Colton growing up with Shawn, just a grade behind, following in his footsteps. Cook-outs and movie nights once they had gotten back together. They were friends, they had been friends for so long... his stomach rolled, bringing a hand up to his face, covering his mouth, unsure of what to say as Cordelia took the phone, speaking quietly to his son.
As the phone was handed to her she took a breath, eyes filled with tears, her chest tight, feeling like she couldn’t expand her ribs big enough to take a full breath but she did anyway, forcing herself. Keeping her voice steady even though she could feel it shake in her throat. Cordelia was off the bed before her legs could even understand and stumbled slightly. “I promise, we’re going to be home as soon as we can, I’m going to get the first flight home, okay baby?” Her voice soothing, trying to quell any fear in Colton’s voice. Obviously she could hear his fear with his voice, Shawn’s parents had been traveling, and now they would be. “We will be home okay? Repeat what I said, okay? I need you to hear it.” Letting him say it. After a short time phones were exchanged and now it was Cordelia roughly packing things into bags, and grabbing things. She didn’t care other than getting home to their kids. Their kids. It hit her, these were their kids. Shawn was their kid, he had been since the beginning of the school year, and now — well, was there any denying what this would be? Her fingers worked furiously on the phone to get tickets, hell she’d drain their bank account for a private jet that you could rent for a few hours just to fly if she had to. Thankfully they didn’t have to come to that as she was able to secure the first flight in less than two hours, tossing more things into bags just wanting to get home. Cordelia needed to get home to see them safe, to hold them, to hold Shawn, to make them as safe as possible.
And Cage needed a plan, needed to figure out what they were supposed to do next, where they were supposed to go. He was vaguely aware of voices as he picked himself up from the bed, beginning to throw clothes in the suitcase, joined by Cordelia a few moments later, Colton on speaker phone as she set it on the edge of the night stand, where they could both hear him. There was a nervous edge to his voice, a certain pleading that he hadn't heard from his son before, not for a long time, something he didn't want to hear again, anytime soon. He tried to soothe him, reminding him that he could call Kellan or Lucie, one of them would come over if his cousin wasn't enough to keep them comfortable, if they needed extra support, assured him that Cordelia was on her phone booking a flight, and then Shawn's voice cut in, the deep timbre he had gotten used to hearing over the past few months since he had come to live with them.
"My sister, Cienna. She's in Minnesota."
At the mention of the sister their eyes met, and she knew, she didn’t need to say anything, he didn’t, she knew what she would do, just as much as he would do the same thing. They’d keep them a family, they’d be their family, they’d do whatever Shawn needed, but first things first, they needed to get them home.
It was just a moment of silence, but a thousand things were said between them in that one glance. Cage's fingers reached out to find Cordelia's, curling around her hand and giving it a squeeze. This must have been what they were talking about, one of those moments, one of those times that made you who you were, that defined who you were going to be. She didn't need to ask him, and he didn't need to say that they would, because they both knew where they were going, and they knew what they were going to do, and it didn't matter if they hadn't seen any of this coming, it didn't matter that it was going to change their lives forever. When he spoke, it was as much to himself, to Cordelia, as it was to the boys.
"We'll get her home."

My biggest mistakes
2022 september 10th, the night before first day of school.
My aunt started to work at a private school as a teacher. She asked me if my father could drop her off on our way to my school.
First mistake i made, i said yes.
2022 september 11th, first day of school
After we dropped her at her school my dad dropped me off too. by the time i came all the seats were taken... except two, one near the class pervert and one near- who is that, is he new? ehh better than the pervert... "Uhhh hi. can i sit here?"
The second and the worst mistake i made, i asked if we could sit together.
2022 october 12th, english class
"Okay guys! since we have exams coming up i've decided to take you all to an amusement park!!" Mrs. Susan said, and she started to ramble about the price, what we needed to do to get a ticket etcetra... Boring... "Bree! you're coming right?" my deskmate Tristan asked, no. i wanted to say... "If my dad lets me of course." fuck, why did i say that. Well no point in deciding aganist it now is it?
Third mistake, i decided to go.
2022 october 17th, math class
"There's a chance that i won't be able to come" i wispered to Tristan. "What!" he wisper-shouted back. "something about not bringing my id in time ig..." i was quite sad, and i didn't know why. "You have to come dude, it won't be fun without you!" he whined like a kid, i smiled at him "Really? No one said that about me before..."
My fourth and most stupitest mistake, i believed him.
2022 october 22nd, on the bus before going to the amusement park
Tristan looked around, not seeing an empty seat next to his friends he turned to me. "Hey is this seat taken? " he asked "nope, noone wanted to sit with me." i said "Cool! I'll get to sit with you then" I didn't say anything. He spoke again "You play **** right? Why don't we play together?" "Sure! I was planning on sleeping but this seems way more fun" we played that game untill we reached the amusement park.
Fifth mistake, why did i even bother playing with him
2022 november 11th, free period
Me and my friends were talking about how weird and horrible the boys in our class was. Aliyah started to talk "You know Bree, you and Tristan are really alike! it's like he's your genderbent version!" oh how i wish she had never spoken at all. "You think so?" "Hmhmm! It's like you two were made for each other!" okay now you've gone too far.
The sixth mistake, why would you start crushing on him just because of a sentence.
2022 november 25th, p.e. class
Everyone was outside, i was on my period so i got permission from the teacher to stay inside. While i was looking at my phone Tristan entered the classroom, i quickly hid my phone. "What are you doing here?" i asked as he walked to his seat (the teacher split our desks bc he wanted to sit with his friend) "Just needed some water." he drank from the bottle "Why are you here shouldn't everyone be outside?" i got embarrassed "My stomach hursts so bad, so i stayed here." He got closer to the desk i ws sitting on. Putting his hand on my cheek and my neck "You don't have a fever." "No shit sherlock, if i did then i would be home by now." "Rude. anyways i need to get going or Mr. Williams gonna be up at my ass..." As he walked away i took my phone out, opened intagram and posted a story. I wrote "how can someone be this captivating?" on a black screen.
Seventh mistake, why would you even post that?
2022 december 5th, lunch break
It was cold, i was sleeping on my desk with my hood on. I was never a heavy sleeper, so the slightest change would wake me up. Someone pulled my hood off and started to pet my head, playing with my hair. I thought it was one of my friends and i liked people playing with my hair so i didn't budge. When the patting stopped i lifted my head to see Tristan. He seemed embarrassed when i looked at him.
My eighth mistake, i thought this meant something.
You know everything stopped after new years. Everything we had, gone in an instant. The long stares, romantic gestures, gifts, playing video games together. Because he found diffrent people to hang out with, because he ruined his sweet personality just to be included.
When i was little kid my mom would be like "choose your friends wisely, they could ruin your life." i didn't belive her then but seeing these with my own eyes i believed her more than ever.
I still think about him these days... Not because i still have feelings for him, no. (those were gone the moment he became friends with my bullies.) But i think about how he will regret everything he did in the future, how he started to ruin his life at such a young age, and how did my sweet boy turned into a heartless, vape addicted, rude guy.
I know for sure he won't read this and even if he does there's no way he'll understand a thing. But here's something for you. You were my first -and hopefully last- crush. I really hope you're doing well. Oh and i was the one who put that "free kisses" ticket in your locker. It's been in my phonecase for a long time now how come you never noticed it lmao?
With love and well wishes -Mins
(Little ps. All the names in this story has been changed bc i don't wanna be recognized plus they were not english names. Thx for reading!!🤍🤍)

aj cook / she/they ——— no way is that AGATHA ‘AGGIE’ SPIEGEL.. they’re a 42-year-old HUMAN notoriously known for being OVERWORKED & HAUGHTY but there are some people who have seen them being LOYAL & GENEROUS. if you ask me, they remind me a lot of fingers pressed roughly against their temples to try and soothe away a headache, nights spent curled up on the couch with a good book and a cozy blanket, hair pulled up and away from her neck so she can concentrate better, and a fierce motherly instinct, but that could just be because they’re considered the ANALYZER around town. just keep an eye on them & see if their true colors shine through..
full name: agatha geraldine spiegel (née blackwell) birthdate: july 22nd age: 42 height: 5’7” occupation: homicide detective ship status: married to frankie spiegel bio:
aggie’s life didn’t pan out in the way she expected, but you won’t hear her complain about that
born to a loving family and landing somewhere near the eldest, life was pretty simple for the first few years
she never quite stood out, but she also didn’t blend in with her siblings, making it a point to soak in as much attention from her family
but aggie knew that being the center of attention wasn’t always feasible in a big family, and so she didn’t mind not having eyes on her most of the time, focusing on playing outside with her friends or spending too much time looking up creepy things on the internet
as aggie got older, their focus pivoted more towards their studies, specifically in their science and history classes
the subjects fascinated them, and it wasn’t long before they were checking various books out of the library to soak up information
aggie took interest in forensics and the criminal justice system, and as she got older that’s where she put most of her focus
she wanted to be a homicide detective specifically, and she was more than willing to put the work in
but then, at the young age of sixteen, she met a boy that she thought would be her entire world
he was smart and charming, and they were in most of the same clubs, which meant spending their time together was relatively easy
what aggie didn’t expect was to get pregnant while she was still in high school, and it was clear that her boyfriend hadn’t expected it either
while she was left making hard decisions, he was only half-present in them, showing a lack of interest on being aggie and the baby’s life
and so she gave him a free out; she would figure out how to raise their baby on her own, and she wouldn’t ask for help from anyone
and somehow, aggie managed to pull it off, finishing high school with decent grades and a diploma, and doing it all with a baby strapped to her hip
she managed to get a job at the police station, something that was helping her pay the bills and keep banks fed, even if he had to be left alone most of the time or kept quietly beneath her desk
things felt like they were going well until her ex re-entered the picture, and suddenly her son wanted to live with the father that hadn’t been around
agatha let him go reluctantly, knowing that her already difficult child needed to figure out life on his own
while he was gone, aggie managed to find herself falling in love with one frankie spiegel, and after no time at all, they got married
and on top of that, she was slowly climbing the ranks at work, creeping her way up to the criminal justice and forensic side of things
but when banks came back to her bruised and resentful, she knew that she could never let his father back in their lives
it was hard to readjust, and aggie took her son’s attitude with a grain of salt, knowing that she couldn’t do anything to help him apart from putting out a restraining order against his father
and so they kept living their lives, and eventually she earned the title of homicide detective; the work was hard an emotionally draining, but she still enjoyed it
these days, aggie is living comfortably with her wife and slowly trying to build her relationship with her son
her overall personality can come across as very cold and no-nonsense, but it’s just a front
her wife and son see aggie’s true side, which is very maternal and goofy, even if she has to keep it buttoned up most of the time
she still very much loves her job, even if she has to take on tough cases on a daily-to-weekly basis

How I Met Your (Step) Mother
Chapter Three: Flashbacks
Summary: We take a trip back to the 80s to see how things started for the trio.
Word Count: 2,895
Chapter Two
Monday August 22nd, 1983
It was the first day of freshman year and Tommy was nervous. His leg bounced subconsciously as he sat waiting for the day to start. His older brother had tried to calm his nerves on the drive over, telling him that high school is no big deal and it’s not exactly how it’s portrayed on after school specials.
He glanced over when he noticed a girl he didn’t recognize sit next to him. She was very pretty. She wore a Metallica t-shirt and ripped jeans, worn black Chuck Taylors on her feet. He had been going to school with the same people since elementary school and he knew most of the people surrounding him in his home room, but he’d never seen her before.
“Hey,” he said. When she turned to look at him, he continued, “I’m Tommy. I’ve never seen you before.”
“My family just moved from Dallas,” she responded. She went back to staring at the board ahead of her.
“You got a name?” Tommy prodded. She gave him her name without looking back at him.
“Pretty name,” he said, giving her a half smile.
“Thanks, my mom gave it to me,” she deadpanned. Tommy laughed. The tiniest grin tugged at the corner her mouth. She decided he might be okay.
—————————
It didn’t take long for the two of them to begin dating. He brought her home after school one day and introduced her to his parents and older brother. Joel was as good looking as Tommy was. He was the reason Tommy broke up with her the first time.
In the second semester of freshman year, she and Joel had home economics together. He was the only other person in the class she had ever really spoken to, so she sat next to him. They talked during class and realized they have a lot in common. She laughed at his jokes and when they left class, he held the door for her.
She found Tommy in their usual spot at lunch. She attempted to kiss his cheek but he turned away. She frowned.
“What’s up?”
“Heard you were having a pretty good time with Joel,” he spat.
“What are you talking about Tommy?”
“In home ec? I heard y’all were getting pretty cozy,” he explained angrily.
“Oh my god.” She rolled her eyes. “He was the only person in class I knew so I talked to him.”
“From what I heard it was a little more than that,” he said.
“What, are you spying on me? All I did was laugh at something he said and he held the door for me when we left class. You’re acting like I fucked him in the floor or something. Jesus.”
“Well if he’s so fucking funny, you can go out with him then. I’m done.” He picked up his lunch and stomped away from her.
“Tommy, wait!” she called after him, but he ignored her. She stood there, stunned, until she felt tears prickling at the corner of her eyes. She made it to the bathroom before she let them fall. Unfortunately for her, Joel’s locker was right across from the bathroom and he saw her emerge, eyes puffy and red. He rushed over to see what was wrong.
“What did he do?”
“He broke up with me because someone told him you and I were getting too friendly in home ec,” she told him honestly. “He wouldn’t listen when I told him it was nothing.”
Joel was taken aback. Had he been subconsciously flirting with her? She was pretty, but she was his brother’s girlfriend - and a freshman for fuck’s sake.
“Oh fuck…I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to start anything,” he said. “I’ll talk to him, maybe I can fix it.”
“It’s not your fault, I’m the one that sat next to you. You would think it would be good that we get along but I guess not.”
She was sulking in her room when the phone rang. She ignored it, thinking it would be for her mom or dad. Her mom called up the stairs that it was for her. She rolled over and picked up the receiver from the phone on her nightstand.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Hey…,” Tommy’s voice came through, sheepish and apologetic.
“What?” she huffed.
“I’m sorry. Joel told me what happened and said if I ever made you cry again he would kick my ass,” he said.
“You should’ve believed me when I told you there was nothing going on,” she pointed out. “You have to trust me. Yeah, me and Joel get along but that’s about it.”
“I know, I’m an idiot,” he sighed. She smiled.
“You’re forgiven,” she giggled.
Friday September 14th, 1984
“Tommy Miller, you unbelievable asshole!”
They were at a party they most definitely shouldn’t have been attending. Most of the kids were seniors, but a few underclassmen had been invited. Tommy had gotten drunk for the first time and she had just found him in someone’s bedroom with Tiffany Anderson, a cheerleader who was always subtly flirting with Tommy.
She slammed the door and ran downstairs to find a phone. She couldn’t call her parents, so she called her only other friend not at this party - Joel. She breathed a sigh of relief when he answered instead of one of his parents.
“Joel, can you come get me?” she sobbed into the receiver. His stomach dropped.
“What’s wrong? Where’s Tommy?”
“I found him in a bedroom with Tiffany Anderson.”
“I’ll kill him,” Joel growled. She heard Tommy calling for her.
“Just hurry, he’s looking for me and I don’t want to talk to him.”
“Okay. Wait outside, I’ll be there as fast as I can.”
She managed to avoid Tommy until Joel pulled up to the curb where she was standing. She flung open the door and slid into the seat before a fresh bout of tears overcame her.
“You been drinkin’?” he asked.
“No, but he was,” she said through her tears. “He got really drunk.”
“Great,” Joel grumbled. That meant after he dropped her off, he’d be going back for Tommy. “Tell me what happened.”
“I was talking to some people when one of the girls grabbed my arm and said she’d just seen Tommy go upstairs with Tiffany. I went up there and found them kissing and her shirt was off.” It took her a few minutes to get the whole story out between sobs. Joel felt bad for her and hated seeing her cry. He patted her on the knee gently.
“I’m sorry he did that. I guess I’m gonna have to kick his ass now.”
She thought back to the promise he made last year if Tommy made her cry again. Despite how hurt and angry she was feeling, her heart fluttered a little at the realization he cared enough about her to remember that.
When he circled back to the party, Tommy was already waiting for him outside.
“You’re gonna kill me, right?” he slurred when he opened the passenger door.
“Somethin’ like that, yeah. Get in, you little jerk.”
Instead of roughing him up, Joel did the next worst thing a brother could do - he ratted him out to their parents. Tommy was grounded for a week for going to the party and two more for cheating on his girlfriend. The Millers weren’t raising playboys.
Saturday March 23, 1985
It took six months for her to even entertain the idea of talking to Tommy again. She talked to Joel every day, the pair having become good friends since the incident. That bothered Tommy to no end.
“You know it’s not cool that you still talk to her and she won’t talk to me,” he complained over breakfast one Saturday morning.
“Get over it. I ain’t gonna stop being her friend because you couldn’t control your hormones. You really hurt her. Don’t you think it would hurt her feelings even more if I took your side when you were clearly in the wrong? Have you even tried to apologize?”
Tommy looked down into his bowl of cereal and mumbled a defeated, “no.” He knew Joel was right. He called her house and to his surprise, she agreed to talk to him. He apologized a hundred times, telling her he had been so drunk that he doesn’t even remember doing anything with Tiffany, or how he got home.
“I miss you,” he told her earnestly. “Can we meet somewhere?”
She was quiet for a few moments. She missed Tommy, too. She believed he was sincere, although she was pretty sure Joel was the catalyst for the conversation. He was always the voice of reason among the three of them. There was a tiny part of her, shoved away in the recesses of her mind, that wished she could be with him. The older Miller was more mature and they had a lot more in common. She was in denial about her feelings for him and he was seeing someone anyway.
“You still there?” Tommy asked tentatively.
“Sorry, I was just thinking. Yeah, we can meet somewhere.”
Friday May 8th, 1987
“Why don’t you just fucking admit you’re in love with him?” Tommy shouted.
“Tommy, I’m not in love with Joel. I love you, would you please stop?”
It was true, she had shaken any feelings she thought she had for Joel. She focused on her relationship with Tommy after they got back together near the end of sophomore year. Things went great for a solid year - until Stephanie came along that is. When Joel suggested a double date, she had been excited to meet the girl he talked constantly about, but she wasn’t worth the hype he gave her. She mostly ignored Peach and Tommy in favor of kissing and touching Joel whenever she could. It made Peach want to vomit. When she did talk, she was condescending and rude. Peach was mad at Joel by the end of the night for even entertaining this woman. This triggered the argument between her and Tommy.
“Please, you seethed the entire time we were at the restaurant with them,” he argued.
“Yeah, because she was a huge bitch. She acted like we were fucking toddlers because we’re still in high school. If we’d closed our eyes for a few seconds, she probably would’ve fucked him at the table,” Peach countered.
“Stephanie’s only half of the problem. Jealousy is the other half.”
Peach put her head in her hands, frustrated that the conversation was getting nowhere.
“Maybe we’re just supposed to be friends,” she sighed. “I can’t keep breaking up and getting back together with you. If you leave me over this, then I’m done. I don’t know how to convince you that I’m not in love with your brother.”
“You can’t,” Tommy said sadly. “I can see it. It always been Joel for you, Peach. I just couldn’t see it til now.”
“Tommy please, that’s not true.” Her voice broke and a cascade of tears flowed down her cheeks. “I love you Tommy.”
“Maybe so,” he shrugged. “But I don’t think you love me as much as you love him.”
He didn’t give her a chance to respond. He stormed out of her house and left her sobbing in her room - only this time Joel couldn’t pick up the pieces.
When Joel asked her what happened, she told him it was too upsetting to talk about and he didn’t push her. He couldn’t console her like he wanted to - not without Stephanie losing her shit. She didn’t like Peach but put up with her because Joel was adamant about being her friend. Stephanie ultimately ended up getting her way, though, because Joel hung out with Peach less and less. She lost her boyfriend and her best friend in one fell swoop.
Saturday June 6th, 1987
For the first time in weeks, Joel approached Peach and gave her a big hug. He’d had to elbow his way through the throng of fresh high school graduates to see her.
“Congratulations, grad,” he beamed. Peach saw Stephanie scowling over his shoulder and Tommy was glaring at her from across the auditorium. She fought the tears that were coming and gave Joel her best fake smile. He saw right through it, of course, and his face fell.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. “He’s an ass. He - he told me what happened.”
“For fuck’s sake,” she groaned. “I’m not in love with you, okay? He’s always thought we had something but it’s in his head and I can’t make him see any differently.”
“I know, I know. It’s okay,” he soothed. “Hey, it’s your big day and I see your folks lookin’ for ya right now. Go enjoy yourself, okay Peach? Promise me?”
She gave him a weak smile. “Okay. Promise.”
Saturday July 4, 1987
Peach walked through the back gate of her friend Julie’s house. Her family always had a huge barbecue on the fourth and Julie was allowed to invite whoever she wanted. They were filthy rich. Joel spotted her coming in and called out to her; she found him sitting alone at a picnic table, smoking a joint. Julie’s parents were very liberal. He offered it to her as she sat across from him.
“What would Saint Stephanie say?” she teased before taking a drag.
“She ain’t gonna find out,” he replied.
“Where is she, anyway?” She passed the joint back to him.
“This ain’t really her scene. She’s doing something with her folks.” He took a drag off the joint and passed it back.
“How are you doing since…you know?” he asked. Just when he asked that, Tommy walked through the back gate, Tiffany Anderson clinging to his arm.
“Well, I was doing a lot better until he just walked in with Tiffany.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Joel sighed. “He’s so stupid.”
Peach made to get up, but Joel stopped her.
“Don’t leave. He just wins that way. Besides, we ain’t talked in weeks.”
“Fine,” she agreed. Tommy approached them with Tiffany in tow.
“Peach, you know Tiffany,” he said smugly.
“Yeah, it’s really nice to see you with your shirt on Tiff,” Peach quipped with a fake smile. “And Tommy, at least you broke up with me before whoring around this time. I call that character development.”
Tommy scowled at her, his plan obviously failing. He grabbed Tiffany’s arm and left without another word. Joel shook his head.
“Idiot.”
Later that evening, there was a knock at Peach’s front door. Tommy stood on the other side, hands shoved in his pockets and guilt on his face.
“What do you want, Tommy?” Peach sighed when she opened the door.
“I’m sorry. It was stupid for me to show up with Tiffany. I don’t know what I was thinking.” He looked genuinely sorry.
“Are you two dating or what?”
“No; I asked if she wanted to come with me but I took her straight home after and I didn’t even have a good time,” he admitted. “I miss hanging out with you.”
“I miss hanging out with you, too,” Peach told him honestly. “Can we try to be friends? I’ve been miserable all summer.”
Tommy looked at her sheepishly, knowing he was at least half the cause of her misery.
“Yeah, I’d like that,” he said.
Thursday October 6th, 1988
Things went back to normal for a long time. Peach, Tommy and Joel saw each other on a regular basis. Peach and Tommy were getting along much better as friends and the three of them were closer than ever. They were hanging out at Joel’s new place when Peach noticed he was being unusually quiet.
“What’s up Joel?” she asked. “You look a million miles away.”
He heaved a heavy sigh before answering, “Stephanie’s pregnant.”
Tommy and Peach stared at him in stunned silence. Tommy had finally seen what Peach saw in Stephanie and he didn’t like her either.
“You’re having a demon spawn with She Devil?” he asked incredulously. Peach nudged him in the ribs.
“Tommy! You can’t refer to your future niece or nephew as demon spawn.”
“You didn’t say anything about the She Devil comment,” Joel pointed out. Peach raised her eyebrows at him.
“You know how I feel.”
“Well, she’s gonna be the mother of my child so I suggest y’all get on board,” he shot back angrily.
“Oh god, you’re not gonna marry her are you?” Peach groaned.
“Thought about it,” he said with a shrug. “But I’m gonna give it a little bit.”
The three of them sat in silence for a few minutes. Peach was the first one to finally speak.
“Well…if you’re happy, I’m happy,” she said. “Obviously I wish Stephanie was a better person, but as long as she treats you and the baby right, I’m good.”
“She’s getting better at lying,” Tommy thought to himself. He wondered if she believed anything she was saying, because he didn’t.
Thursday July 20, 1989
Tommy and Peach waited anxiously in the waiting room of the maternity ward for Joel to come out and tell them he was officially a father. He’d called from the hospital a few hours prior and they rushed right over. At 4:47 pm, he burst through the doors with a huge grin.
“It’s a girl. Her name is Sarah.”

(joe keery, he/him/his, cismale) who is theo clark anyways? ew. you don’t know about him, we’ll bet you want to. they’re feeling thirty and singing karaoke feels like a perfect night to them. rumor has it they’re indecisive and have low self-esteem because they care, but they’re also intelligent and adaptable in the best way. he works to make a little money as an employee at the animal shelter (...but he also walks dogs on rover on the side). they’ve rented on a place on cornelia street in the form of an an apartment. back to december and long live are the song they could dance to the beat of forevermore. (tw: cancer, about 3/4's of the way into the "backstory" section here!)
basics.
full name: theodore james clark. nicknames: honestly? most people just call him theo, though teddy is a family nickname he'd probably still respond to. gender/pronouns: cismale/he/him/his. sexual orientation: extremely bisexual. birthday: july 22nd. star sign: cancer. cancers are known to be highly intuitive, sensitive...and insecure. occupation: proud employee of the animal care center of new york...and he walks dogs for rover on the side.
personality.
positive traits: intelligent, adaptable, caring, honest, empathetic. negative traits: realistic pessimistic, indecisive, blunt, sensitive…but like not talking about those feelings ever?, low self esteem while being self-centered. hogwarts house: i know jrk sucks and we do not claim her but the man is a hufflepuff…but a burned one. alignment: chaotic neutral. ennegram: 4w5. personality type: infj.
backstory.
his childhood was normal. happy, even. except for the part where his parents never let him have a dog because they were 'too busy' for one.
because his parents both had pretty demanding jobs, he was put in a ton of after school activities, but he kind of sucked at sports. so he joined boy scouts and took a bunch of different music lessons. he's pretty decent at guitar and piano and can fake his way through some accordion in a pinch.
theo is the oldest of three and was the child his parents placed their hopes on. his mother is a well-known pediatric oncologist at pittsburgh children's hospital and his father teaches biology at carnegie mellon. everyone assumed that theo would follow in their footsteps. and he did...sort of
he studied biology even though it wasn't really his thing because he wasn't paying for college, his parents were...and he minored in both music theory and psychology, which he liked more.
he met one of he most important people in his life while attending duquesne university in caroline davis.
...they didn't hit it off right away. in fact, at first, she was a bit of a thorn in his side. but a little bonding over a mutual love of music (and the food trucks on campus...) and they clicked. he asked her out around homecoming that first year and the rest is history.
they dated for years. it was very serious. he was two weeks away from buying a ring, honestly. but they spent a really big chunk of their relationship long-distance and it was just...hard. he really fucking loves loved her. but you know what they say...if you love it, let it go. or whatever.
during college, he made spending money at a work study job at the school library, but he made more walking dogs so he quit the work study job and started pet-sitting and dog walking most evenings.
this is where his love of animals began and only started to grow the more he spent times with classmates' and neighbors' pets. he decided to apply to vet school instead of med school, much to his mom's chagrin.
he got in!
...and he dropped out 2 semesters in because he hated it.
theo kept up a pretty big lie for the better part of a year, working odd jobs around pittsburgh and maintaining his off-campus apartment and dodging his parents' questions...until his dad was a guest lecturer to one of his vet school classes and he was nowhere to be found.
his parents gave him two choices: go back to vet school or go back to college and get a degree he would use.
theo chose neither. he packed up his shit, hopped on a bus, and moved to new york city with a collection of cassette tapes, a duffel bag of clothes, and whatever was left in his bank account to his name.
his parents didn't exactly disown him during this period, but they didn't reach out. he found out his mom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer about 2 months after his move...and she'd been diagnosed a month prior. he heard it from one of his siblings and tried to reach out, but didn't get a response.
she passed away eight months after her diagnosis. he never got a chance to make amends and it's one of his biggest regrets.
he has since reconciled with his dad, but that's something that just..you don't just get over that. he's struggled with it mightily and with the help of a good therapist, he's starting to forgive himself. some.
he intended on reconnecting with caroline when he got there but...well, that didn't turn out so well.
so he couch surfed for a while until he could accept the first non-sketchy craigslist roommate ad he could find and moved into his cornelia street apartment.
he's not sure what he wants to do, really, so he's worked a lot of odd jobs since moving to the city. he's worked at almost every starbucks in an eight block radius of his apartment, bartended for a while, tried his hand working a food truck...but nothing seemed to stick. he paid rent by ubereats-ing most months, until he started walking neighbors' dogs and found something he kind-of-doesn't-hate.
during this in-between time is when he sort of got back into music. one job, he played piano in a restaurant's main dining room. another was a bar where he sweet talked his way into a few gigs. probably ended up meeting the rest of the electric touch crew during this period!
now he's working at the animal shelter, walking dogs using rover, and playing some gigs on the side. thank god for dogs and music.
plots n' stuff.
a roommate. or a few? i could see him having a few to keep costs low and i didn't snag any of the premade skellies for this so if you're down i'm down
found family/besties. i love those vibes especially given he's essentially upped and move away from home knowing like 2 people in the entire city.
people with dogs. either people whose dogs he walks or neighbors who happen to have them. he's like a dog whisperer so if you need a pet sitter he's your guy.
or! shelter volunteers!!!
people from any and all odd job he used to have. like a regular at the coffee shop who can't get their order right now because he left or a co-worker who helped him create a sandwich that's still on a menu at a local restaurant?
random hookups would be an option tbh. he came to new york intending to, like, win back his ex in some kind of rom-com bullshit way, but...well, it hasn't worked out so far.
someone who thought their hookup was more serious than it was would be kind of funny too. we live for miscommunications.
would love some kind of enemies/animosity plot. we'd have to talk it through. could've started with something little and spiraled or maybe they're just besties with caroline and are on her side. or maybe he accidentally ran over your muse's dog's tail on his bike :/
i'm dani. 32. friendly, promise! and i'm open to plotting pretty much anything, honestly! DM's here or on discord are always open to figure some stuff out. i'm danisaurus. over on discord and i'm really looking forward to writing with you all!
#cornelia.intro#//hi i'm dani and i never learned to shut the fuck up#//excited to write with you! some plots are towards the end but i'm very flexible i promise#//also thanks to alyssa for this pretty graphic bc i'm useless at that sorta thing <333

Stray Kids Dating A-Z - Yang Jeongin
Post Date: 22nd December 2022 TW?: Mention of Sex for letter ‘S’
~ Misc Mobile Masterlist If you like my stuff and wanna tip, just buy me a coffee!
~
A - Affection
It would really depend on the day and his mood, he’s be soft with kisses and hand holding one minute. Then the next, he’s just wanting to have you next to him as a form of comfort. He’d worry that he’d be too extreme on both ends of the scale so would need time to find the perfect balance of affection for the both of you.
B - Before Dating
He would’ve been your friend from school who you never lose contact with. He’d literally be so shy around you, and even about you when you’re mentioned. Especially when you’re not there and his friends tease him for his little crush. But despite his shyness, he’d still be a friend first and always be playful with you and your favourite shopping buddy.
C - Confession
He’d worry about confessing to you not for the fact that he’d get turned down, but out of worry that he’s be overstepping a boundary and could possibly ruin what you already have as a bond already. However, when pushed to have a little confidence to, he’d do it the sweetest way. He’d ask his friends to help him set up a date, and would confess over dinner.
D - Dates
For dates, you’ll definitely have a good mix of going out for nice evening meals, to fancy dress nights to going shopping and to the cinema or a bowling alley. He’ll want to treat you like royalty but he’d also want to have the most fun other times.
E - Experience
He wouldn’t really have had any relationships before you. Not ones that would be classed as relationships anyway. You’d be his first actual relationship but he’d take so much time and car into making sure that it doesn’t go wrong for the both of you. Even going to Chan, Minho and/or Changbin for advice.
F - Fighting
Barely has a temper as seems to regulate his emotions pretty well so you probably wouldn’t ever have any fights. Not serious ones anyway. There could be moments where you struggle to communicate with each other, especially if he’s tired, but never full shouting competitions. Unless you’re playing a game with each other and you’re joking around.
G - Getting to know his family
He’d love to be traditional in the sense that he’d love for you to meet his parents more than anything when he feels comfortable and the time is right. He would ensure that you would feel comfortable around his family but will prepare you for his brothers to try and embarrass him since he’s the middle child.
H - Home
His home is at two place, with his family and with his members - who are also his family too. He’d love for you both to spend as much time around those people as possible, but of course would love to spend time at your place for the peace and quiet. Although, he’d be patiently waiting until the right time for you guys to get a place you can call home for your own.
I - “I love you”
He’d want to say it so many times, but would be scared he’d be the one to rush into it so would show it rather than say it. He’d always be thinking it and would ensure that you felt appriciated and loved by him even if he doesn’t verbally say it. It would most likely come out when you’re helping piece an outfit together, or shopping in general whilst taking selfies in the shop mirrors. Something small as simple.
J - Jealousy
He’d be the last person to get jealous, and wouldn’t have anything to worry about with you at all as long as boundaries are respected on both sides. There isn’t going to be a need for him to get jealous unless you start spending more time with the members than him. But even then, he’s just be glad you get along with them.
K - Kids
Considering hes still really young himself, the idea of having children would be pretty scary to him but he wouldn’t be opposed to it either. This would be something that’ll need a lot of planning as well as communication, especially talking about the future.
L - Laughter
Your cheeks and sides would be hurting so much from laughing because of him. He’s so genuienly funny and wouldn’t even have to try, especially when he’s around his members and you both feel the most comfortable. The best times would be when you’re sitting awake late at night, pampering each other and just talking about things. Especially if you have an energy drink or two down you.
M - Missing you
He’d be the type to try and hide the fact that he misses you, purely to not seem or look clingy and/or needy. But when he does find comfort in telling you and you feel the same way. Especially if he’s looking at photos of the both of you together, he’d miss you the most then.
N - Nicknames
Since he gets called ‘Agi-bang’ by his fellow bandmates, you wouldn’t want to take that and use it yourself. He’d prefer it if you didn’t either but he’d find it absolutelt adorable with whatever nickname you come up with for him, he’d love it even more if it was something just out of pure admiration for him.
O - Obsession
He’d be obsessed with the way you dress, how you shop, anything to do with your fashion. He’d be even more obsessed if you let him put and outfit together and shop for you. Having matching outfits would be even better but he’d be more obsessed if you really match with him personality wise, or being different but can adjust to level each other out.
P - PDA
Similar to affection, it’ll be different depending on the day and mood. If he’s tired, he would love nothing more than to lay his head on you if you’re around his friends. But if you’re alone, he’d be laying on you, wanitng you to play with his hair. PDA in public really wouldn’t be his thing, but he’d still hold your hand and kiss your forehead just to see you smile.
Q - Questions
There would definitely be days where you just sit there and chat, ending up playing 21-Questions just out of pure interest in finding out more about each other. Even the smallest details. There would be some things he would wait to tell you but would love to have a genuine conversation.
R - Random Facts
He’d probably be the one to start the chaos in the friendship group and pretend like he didn’t do anything. He’d act like he wants nothing to do with the chaos but would be living for it, especially if you’re there to join in with him to love it too.
S - Sex
Jeongin before and after sex would be a completey different person to the Jeongin you’d see during. He’s a dom and would be interested in trying things. But he’d never push you past your comfort zone and would be huge on consent. He’d be pretty inexperienced but would learn quickly and would have such a personality change when he’s in the mood. Swtiching things up completely in your relationship.
T - Texts
He’d be relatively active when texting you unless he’s stated that he’s busy, especially if he’s going to practice, recording, etc. Even then, he’d check in just to see how you’re doing and to let you know how he’s doing. Knowing you’re okay would be what keeps him going throughout the day, especially if he can’t see you afterwards too.
U - Universe
He wouldn’t know how to show it in the best way possible, but he’d think of you as his entire universe, one of the most important people in his life. He would do anything for you and he knows that if he cares so much, his friend and family would too. There would always be love and support, a huge family with him for you.
V - Vacation
As long as you join him, he’ll be happy to go anywhere. He’d love to go to get photos to make a photobook, of your journey to these places and would 100% be down to scrapbook with you.
W - Whining
He isn’t nessecarily one to whine, he’s pretty good like that. If he has something on his mind, or something bothers him, most times he’d find a way to sort it out himself or get over it if there’s nothing he can do. He wouldn’t want to annoy you by whining or complaining, so he’d come out with whatever’s on his mind when he wants to.
X - XXX (Kisses)
Forehead kisses, back of the hand kisses and cheek kisses. Mainly forehead kisses though. He’d love to just see you melt when he kisses your forehead, how you smile and mould into his arms when he wraps them around you. Or how your smile brightens and your mood gets better.
Y - You
You would quite literally be another best friend but with an upgraded title and that’s something he’ll always cherish of you. You’ll be his everything and he would genuienly be lost without you.
Z - ZZZ (Sleeping)
He’d definitely be the type to refuse to let you be big spoon. He’ love to make sure that you’re comfortable and warm, to protect you. If he’s not spooning you, you’re cuddled up into him with his arm wrapped around you and your head on his chest. Simple yet very sweet, especially when he wakes up puffy eyed and with his deep sleeping voice.

see if he'll reach out today? :O???
//We leave the classroom, which has been empty for a good ten, fifteen minutes now, and head to…
Sub-Event: Haruhiko heads home?
//Hopes Peak Main Course Dorms, Floor 2, Class 79-B: Kobashikawa’s dorm.
~*~
//Kobashikawa lays on his bed, still in his uniform, slowly kicking his legs as he scrolls on his phone.
Kobashikawa - …
Kobashikawa - No ones posted anything new…
Kobashikawa - Tsurugi will probably update with a picture when he’s back to his dorm after looking at the market…
Kobashikawa - But it’s only been a short while since class got out.
Kobashikawa - …
Kobashikawa - …Mmm…
//He pauses for a moment, before swiping out of Instagram, and clicking on his phones texting service. It’s still selected on the last contact he was messaging; his mom.
Kobashikawa - …
//He scrolls up, re-reading their conversation for the millionth time.

Description: A text conversation between Kobashikawa Yuriko, and Kobashikawa Haruhiko. Given names used for clarity.
Monday, December 9th
6:37 AM
Yuriko: Have you texted Miki today?
Yuriko: Today’s her birthday; she isn’t up yet, don’t worry.
7:46 AM
Haruhiko: i remembered, so i stayed up until midnight to text her
Haruhiko: is she out of school yet?
Haruhiko: I know none of her classes required her meeting with them this quarter, so itd be fine for her to sleep in even if she’s not, I’m just curious
Yuriko: Good job, honey!
Yuriko: No, she’s not out until the 13th.
Yuriko: Which should be the same as you get out…?
Haruhiko: they aren’t letting kids go until the 22nd, I believe. We have to stay on campus until then
Yuriko: You could always tell them you want to work the break, and head home when you’re off…
Yuriko: I’m not saying you have to go earn money, I just know you usually get to fly a lot more than you’ve been able to.
Yuriko: And I wouldn’t want you to spend all your time with us up in the air…
8:22 AM
Yuriko: You’re free to do whatever, but I don’t want you to be off in a different country when you could be sleeping at home.
Yuriko: You don’t have to leave your room, I’d just be happy knowing you’re in there ❤️
8:31 AM
Haruhiko: sorry, I was taking a bath
Haruhiko: I can try to apply for an early leave, I’d need to get it approved by administration, and get a work schedule cleared
Yuriko: Do you need me to call anywhere for you?
Haruhiko: I have people I can text to coordinate with airports for me
Yuriko: Okay!
9:16 AM
Haruhiko: Love you, mom
Yuriko: I love you too!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Tuesday, December 10th
2:32 PM
Yuriko: Do you think Miki would like this? //Attatched is a picture of a torn up black shirt, taken at a bit of an odd angle.
Haruhiko: yea
Haruhiko: get it for her!
Yuriko: Got it ❤️
4:52 PM
Yuriko: Have you asked for early leave, Haru?
Haruhiko: not yet, no
Yuriko: Okay, be sure you get that handled!
Yuriko: I still have a copy of your schedule, do you think it’d help for me to text you when class is out? As a reminder?
Haruhiko: it’s okay, i’ll ask today
Yuriko: Thank you, honey!
5:07 PM
Haruhiko: :( //Attached is a picture of a paper sheet taped to a window. It reads: OFFICE HOURS (Dec 8-14) M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM SAT-SUN 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Yuriko: Oh no!
Yuriko: Think you can go before class? Or send them an e-mail?
Haruhiko: i’ll try to get there tomorrow morning
Yuriko: Sounds like a plan!
Wednesday, December 11th
8:03 AM
Yuriko: Don’t forget to ask the office about leaving early!
Haruhiko: 👍
5:30 PM
Yuriko: How did it go?
Haruhiko: they said i can go early if i can get four hours flight time per day i leave early.
Haruhiko: I’d have until I come back to get those complete though, so they could be dispersed over the week between christmas and new years
Yuriko: Hm… what do you think?
Haruhiko: idk
Yuriko: Well, do you want to come home early?
6:16 PM
Haruhiko: i don’t know
Yuriko: Honey, I just don’t want you to feel like you need to escape during the time you have with us.
Yuriko: If you don’t want to come home early, that’s okay!
Yuriko: You can stay at the school, you can come home and take some flights, it’s whatever you want.
Yuriko: I just worry about you…
Yuriko: Do you think you’ll be able to spend time outside of your room this season?
8:37 PM
Yuriko: It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it, or can’t. I don’t you to feel like you’re being pressured.
Yuriko: I love you, Haru.
9:29 PM
Haruhiko: ♥️
Yuriko: ❤️❤️❤️
10:16 PM
Haruhiko: it’s hard right now.
Haruhiko: i love you all, i just get really really anxious when i think about coming home
Haruhiko: i don’t want to waste my chance to see you all, but im having a hard time this season
Thursday, December 12th
7:32 AM
Yuriko: I hear you, honey, I’m sorry.
Yuriko: And it is okay if you don’t feel up to leaving your room when you’re here! No one would be upset, we understand.
Yuriko: We love you ❤️
12:51 PM
Yuriko: Miki needs to learn to not cause trouble… //Attached is a short video of a young woman throwing snowballs at a teenager a few years older than Haruhiko. The young woman has long, honey brown hair, and is wearing a light green winter coat. The video is filmed from a small distance away, but she seems to be very pretty in a conventional way, and very upset, in a “attack the cause of anger with snowballs” way. The teenager has jet black hair pulled back into two buns, and wears a black coat. The video starts about a second before she falls to the ground, screaming as the onslaught of snow continues even after she falls. The person behind the camera can’t be seen, but after filming for a bit, says “…They’ll work it out just fine…” and ends the video.
4:08 PM
Yuriko: Have you tried talking with your classmates? They seem nice, I’m sure they could help with your anxiety…
Yuriko: Also, isn’t there counselors at the school?
Yuriko: Or I could reach out to your therapist for an online appointment, those are pretty common now!
7:14 PM
Yuriko: Shira should be sending you gift ideas for your grandparents; no promises on how they’ll behave, but I’m fully planning to make a quick escape this year!
10:01 PM
Yuriko: Sleep well, honey ❤️
Friday, December 13th
2:37 AM
Haruhiko: tell shira im proud of her and am looking forward to her amazing snowball throwing skills when miki inevitably decides to bully and torment me
3:13 AM
Haruhiko: love you ❤️
6:58 AM
Yuriko: I love you too!
Yuriko: And Miki also loves you~
7:56 AM
Haruhiko: Miki bit me last time I was home
Yuriko: She’s teething.
Haruhiko: SHE IS SEVENTEEN AND RUDE
Yuriko: And she loves you!
Yuriko: Love bites. Like a puppy.
1:17 PM
Haruhiko: I’m not really doing well.
Haruhiko: I have an hour and a half to focus on my talent, i might try to get a quick flight in.
Haruhiko: But idk, i just wanted to say something? Keep you updated, u know
2:14 PM
Yuriko: Sorry honey, I was in a meeting!
Yuriko: Do you maybe want to call? We can video chat, if you don’t want to talk, or we can talk, if you think this is one of those episodes.
Yuriko: Whenever you want though, I know you’re up in the skies now!
Yuriko: I’m here for you ❤️
Yuriko: Stay safe!

//It’s around a quarter past five now.
Kobashikawa - …
//He slides his shoes off, and nudges them off the bed before grabbing one of the many blankets tossed onto his bed, and cocooning himself inside it.
Kobashikawa - Aaaaa…
//He continues to stare at his phone, watching the cursor blink on the empty text box…
Kobashikawa - …I miss my mom…
//Then clicks on his mom’s contact, now hovering his finger over the “Call” button.
Kobashikawa - …
Kobashikawa - ……….
//Kerosene and copper and a sting in your nose and pain in your ears and tears in your eyes and blood on his face and waking up and sirens and sobs.
Kobashikawa - No no no no no no no nooo… let’s… let’s not, let’s not do that.
Kobashikawa - That’s… a bad idea.
//He turns off his phone, and throws it to the carpeted floor. Then, he frees himself from his blanket, trading it for a pillow which he uses to cover his face, and-
Kobashikawa, muffled - Aaaaaaaa…
Kobashikawa - AAAAAAAGH
//Finished with his attempt at ruining his vocal chords by screaming without opening his mouth, he stays still for a moment, before rolling off his bed, joining his shoes and phone on the floor.
//Once again, he takes a moment to… ? Before blindly grabbing for a blanket from his bed, with a surprising amount of success.
Kobashikawa, muffled - Mmmmm…
Kobashikawa, signing - Fuck… fuck fuck fuck.
//He lays still on the floor for a solid five minutes, before abruptly standing, and cleaning his things from the floor.
//Blanket and pillow back on the bed, shoes in the closet, and phone plugged in to charge.
Kobashikawa - …
Kobashikawa - I feel sick…
Kobashikawa - M’kay… uh oh, uh oh, let’s just…
Kobashikawa - I’m gonna take a bath, that’ll help, yeah?
Kobashikawa - That’ll help…
~*~
//Kobashikawa emerges from his bathroom, carefully drying his hair via microfiber towel, focusing on caring for the slight curl in his hair instead of addressing any of the actual issues in his life at the moment.
Kobashikawa - Keep this calm energy, keep this calm energy…
//He stands still, closing his eyes, and breathing deeply.
Kobashikawa - …Okay.
Kobashikawa - What do I need to get done…
Kobashikawa - Kisaragi and I are doing homework tomorrow, so I’m not concerned about that…
Kobashikawa - …I really want to fly.
Kobashikawa - What time is it?
//Kobashikawa grabs his phone- no new texts.
Kobashikawa - Oh… Ōtori’s shift isn’t over yet.
Kobashikawa - …Yeah, I’ll go get coffee, why not.
Kobashikawa - Maybe he’ll want to go fly with me when his shifts over…
//Kobashikawa pauses, thinking over his options for clothing; he puts on a undershirt, then a loose-fitting sweatshirt, and stares uncomfortably at his reflection.
Kobashikawa - …I got dressed sometime after 8, plus four hours makes sometime after 12…
Kobashikawa - But I went to my room to calm down, and can’t fly with it on, so… another hour to get to 1, making 5 hours,
Kobashikawa - Then I’d put it back on before class, making…
Kobashikawa - I mean, that is a bit over 6 hours, but not consecutively, and I just had it off, and I’ll take it back off if I go to fly…
Kobashikawa - …
//He removes his sweater and his shirt, grabbing a black binder from his laundry pile, and adding that to his outfit. The undershirt is tucked into his jeans, and the front hem of the sweater follows it, better helping to hide Kobashikawa’s figure.
Kobashikawa - …Ugh…
Kobashikawa - Good energy, good energy, good energy.
Kobashikawa - It’s cold out, this sweater is thin enough… I can add a overcoat, yeah.
//True to plan, he grabs an overcoat from his closet and pulls it on, fixing his collar, but not checking his reflection again.
Kobashikawa - …Mkay, I need to grab my phone…
Kobashikawa - …I’ll call later, not now.
Kobashikawa - Maybe I’ll ask for some flights out of HND…
//Kobashikawa takes a moment, fidgeting with his hands, and taking deep breaths before signing and placing his phone in his jacket pocket. He grabs a pair of gloves, and tugs them on as he opens the door to leave his dorm.
~*~
//Kobashikawa stands last in line behind three people- a duo, and one sole person in front of him. His eyes visibly widen, and he stills, before slowly grabbing his phone from his pocket. He rapidly types as the person in front of him orders.
Ōtori - Here you go… enjoy your drink.
??? - Thank you! Have a nice break.
Ōtori - You as well!
Ōtori - …Kobashikawa, I need to cut you off, this isn’t okay.
Kobashikawa - …
//He gives Ōtori a awkward smile, and holds his phone out at him.
Ōtori - …
Kobashikawa, via phone - TOP TEN REASONS YOU SHOULD COVER MY DRINK
1)I forgot my wallet back at the dorms and don’t want to walk back
2) We live in the same class area, and you’re always in my room anyways, you can literally steal my money anytime you want, so it’s not even on me to get the money to you, you can just grab it
3) I’ll tip you really really well for the amazing customer service
4) Please
5) I’ll tell Tsurugi and make it sound like you did something wrong
6) Please don’t make me walk back that would be so mean
7) Pretty privilege. Really I shouldn’t even have to pay. I’m amazing and so attractive and the sight of me is enough payment
8) I’m literally so cold I neeed a warm drink or I’ll die
9) And then you will be a murderer
Ōtori - …That’s nine reasons.
//Kobashikawa types again
Kobashikawa - 10) Please
Ōtori - You already said that!
Kobashikawa - And?
Ōtori - You’re so spoiled, and I hate you.
Kobashikawa - It’s okay Ōtori, I still love you, even when you talk to me like this.
Ōtori - Vanilla latte?
Kobashikawa - Yes please.
Ōtori - Fucking hell…
//Ōtori starts to make Kobashikawas drink.
Ōtori - Did you just bathe?
//He turns to watch Kobashikawa.
Kobashikawa - Mhm!
Ōtori - If you go out in the cold with wet hair, you could get sick.
Kobashikawa - I don’t want to blow dry it and kill it…
Ōtori - Hmm… one sec.
//Ōtori turns back to finish Kobashikawas drink, and passes it to him.
Kobashikawa - Thank youuu, I love youuu…
Ōtori - Yeah, yeah… what have you done since class got out?
Kobashikawa - Nothing much, I pretty much just took a bath and stressed over what to wear to seduce the cute guy working at the student store.
Ōtori, dryly - Yeah, checks out.
Kobashikawa - Mhm… such a shame you were here instead…
Ōtori - That’s it, I’m charging interest on your coffee.
Kobashikawa - Ah. Fair.
~*~
//We’ll return to Kobashikawa won’t communicate later, for now…
{Follow Maeda and the others to the market}
{Make sure she’s on time}

NOPOINT's remix is dropping soon!!
ahhhhhhhhh!!! So... it's been a while, huh?
Today is November 16th. 6 days away from the release of NOPOINT's remix!! Here's a little backstory:
NOPOINT was originally recorded at our old "studio" apartment that was owned by someone we refer to as Mr.Fraud (yes he's terrible but that's a story for another time CL*Y).
I wrote it to symbolize having faith in yourself and your abilities whilst on the confusing journey towards your goals. How do we know the right steps to take? How do we know if we're making the right decisions? We don't know.. until we take the step.
So, if we're all just winging the fuck out of life - why not move with confidence in yourself? No one else will do it for you. No point in racing her, let em go two to three... it's just you in your lane, and your focus is only ahead. Let everyone else's opinions and negativity fall behind you and take second and third place. YOU COME FIRST, ALWAYS!!!
Jay made this remix as a kind of surprise, and I loved it instantly. It gave the song an entirely different vibe while still keeping the meaning. It's more poppy, more lively, more energetic... taking life by force, bursting forward into a sprint and enjoying the wind in your hair (with lingering focus on anxiety of course).
Anyway, November 22nd. I hope all of my listeners in the future are enjoying it right now :)
And... here's what the cover looks like:
Currently I've been swamped with stress from all areas of life. Deaths in the family, problems with money, stress from school, all while still trying to navigate my identity and my relationships with others. It's not easy yet I'm still here, still trying, and never giving up. I mean shit, I'm recording the remix's music video tomorrow! I have my final week of dance classes every single morning next week, and a full script draft due this Thursday. I haven't even begun to study for my Law Gov class which I've failed before already.
It's a weird place to be in, because while I don't want to break my consistency streak with beats and music content... I can't afford to slip up with my grades now. It's my final year at Uni, and I've wasted enough time... it would be such a disappointment to my friends and family... and especially myself if I were to fumble now. I think the whole "I never wanted to be here" and "I'm only here bc my family wants me to be here" made me forget how free I could be if I just got it over with. There's no backing out. Just get the degree so everyone can finally leave you alone to continue chasing your dreams.
Anyway lemme stop ranting. I'm hoping my release this week goes well. I have a beat battle in my Discord server tonight. I have a beat pack to send to one of my favorite Dancehall artists.... it's a lot. But let's get it!!
PRESAVE/PREORDER NOPOINT (REMIX) HERE! 👈🏼

If I had to guess, I wouldn’t really know what we did in October.
A lot, apparently.
First up:
It's SCHOOL again.
Well, not again... pretty much this has been ongoing for over a year now.
Of course Kimmer’s in the full throes of the current semester of her doctoral program. So, on top of her day job and the charting demanded by that day job, she’s also researching, writing, testing, collaborating in-class, and commiserating with fellow students in this fast-track program.
The workload is insane… and Kimmer’s managing it on top of everything else.
For me, professionally, the month kicked off diving into and crafting the first cut of a large project about youth incarceration.
A lot of footage covering different points of view, narratives, and circumstances. Definitely the biggest, one of the biggest, projects of the year. I had the first cut done about halfway through the month. 🙂
Linzy had a bit of a month this month…
Although nothing like what’s coming up November and December. Among her gigs in October, I'm thinking about one of the many in Woodinville, this particular time at Efestē Wines where I ran into friends from a lifetime ago and we got to catch up.
And catch up.
And catch up.
Talking shop. Talking family and future with people who get it. You know?
Birds of a feather.
It was really really fun with Linzy providing the soundtrack.
Due to scheduling, our friends had to leave before Kimmer arrived. The timing was still good, though, ‘cause Linzy was on a quick break so we got in a little family time at the bar of all places. Afterward, she returned to her third set while we commenced date night.
After that, we got all of Linzy's gear packed up and moved our van but somehow managed not to leave. We hung out at the back of the van talking shop like our family does.
Apparently.
I don't even remember what all we talked about. It was a bit stream of consciousness. But it was lovely still.
😊
Linzy’s gig calendar had something on every Friday of October.
Winery gigs on three of them. A Midnight High show on the first Friday of the month. There was a Palisade restaurant performance on the last Wednesday of October but the BIG deal was Linzy’s Dream Patrol show at Sunset Tavern in Ballard, Tuesday the 22nd.
The show was the best one so far. Between the production quality of the recorded tracks playing back through the house sound system, the writing, the arranging, the mixing, the layering of the songs, a pair of her Midnight High bandmates, masters both on bass (Tim) and lead guitar (Skylar), expert stage lighting from mains to accents, smoke, disco balls, and then Linzy's performance itself that was an aligning of planets, a coalescing of iconic look, vocal performance, and lead singer attitude.
No joke.
This was some next-level magic.
One of the Dream Patrol songs Linzy premiered at the show’s called “halloween” and a coupla days before I got it in my head to see how feasible it might be to make a music video for that song using the Text to Video function of RunwayML.
youtube
Turns out: very feasible. The thing knocked my socks off. And Kimmer’s. And the producer I’m working with. And the other editor who works with that producer. And so on. 😁
And yeah it's age-restricted due to language and horror elements. So Beware!
I said before that I completed the first cut of the youth incarceration project halfway through the month.
The big deal there was that it was a work in progress until it wasn’t. Meaning, I didn’t have a sense of the full piece until I was in sight of the finish line. So. End of the day, the producer and I watch it in its entirety. For the first time. And it’s spectacular in its polished, first-cut iteration. 😁😁😁
By the way, did I mention Kimmer made costumes?
Yeah. The Dream Patrol show was actually billed as a “costume event” and we were all-in from the get-go. I can’t remember what I thought of first for a costume but the second costume I thought of was Nevermore student vampire. It took a coupla weeks but Kimmer found the pieces for it, included her dark round lensed glasses, and crafted the formal jacket herself with blue and black stripes along with the Nevermore logo. Classic!
For herself, Kimmer made…
Actually, she found this fantastic silver material, an oversized dress actually, and was immediately inspired to craft an Eiffel Tower costume. She bought additional materials and had a sort of first draft laid out on our dining room table prior to sewing it all together. It would've been AMAZING.
What happened, though, is that Kimmer was at Value Village and ran across a purple T-shirt illustrated with the gang from It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! in their iconic costumes.
Later she was telling me about it and how she was thinking about getting it for me to which I replied
“Why didn't you???”
So next thing we're in the car to Value Village where we snag the shirt (thankfully still hanging there in the costumes section) and since Kimmer’s always looking… she finds this year’s costume. Actually, she finds it in pieces.
The first piece Kimmer finds is kind of a lamp shade deal where, instead of shade, there are strings of reflective wires. So she grabs it, thinking how it might go with her Eiffel Tower costume still in the works. But then…
Then she finds an outfit that we don't know what it is but it looks cool, fits comfortably, and makes a statement.
What statement?
No idea.
It has kind of, sort of, maybe a Jetson’s vibe? But then put the reflective headpiece on her head and now she looks like a lamp?
Sort of?
Kind of?
Maybe?
So she buys both pieces on the spot and then a few days later finds the ankle boots to go with it. White leather. Platform. And now with this third piece she definitely has a look.
Again, no idea what that look is, but then we're in Ballard walking to the show at night. We're both wearing our costumes, me without the sunglasses yet, she without the reflective headpiece yet. Nearing the venue, we pass a group of revelers and one of them pauses to tell Kimmer how much she loves Kimmer’s outfit.
Get it? Outfit?
See, this is October 22. Costume parties won't start ‘til Friday afternoon. So I'm pretty sure she thought Kimmer was normally just dressed this way and looked cool.
I thought that was very sweet.
And Kimmer did look cool. ☺️
By the way. That music video I made from Text to Video prompts? That was definitely on my own time but it did pay off professional dividends in that I now have a method of working with this particular AI tool and can actually explain it to another human being in a way that makes sense.
Ish.
Okay so last thing:
We watched and watched and re-watched The Diplomat on Neflix earlier this year and have been anxiously awaiting the dropping of season 2 that happened at 3AM Eastern Standard Time, October 31st, which meant midnight Pacific Standard Time. Which meant that's how we ended our Wednesday night, October 30.
Which.
We.
Did.
We watched the first two episodes straight through for ninety minutes.
Last I looked at the clock it was about quarter of two Thursday morning.
The 31st.
The End.
😊

trigger warnings ; none
tldr;
arnav khanna was born in orlando and lived there until he was about 8 at which point his parents moved him to wilmington. he was a good soccer player and would've continued down the line until a bad injury prevented him from continuing to play. this dashed his dreams for going to school on a sports scholarship and so he went to a smaller college on the east coast. he's someone who loves romance and love and will almost always try set people up, sometimes for fun and sometimes for cash. he returned back to wilmington on and of after graduating before he went to india to learn from the indian matchmaking queen herself. he's started his business about four years ago and is might successful as well.
BIOGRAPHY;
Arnav Khanna was born to Sheetal and Subhash Khanna in the city of Orlando Florida. His parents moved to the United States before he was born and got settled on building a normal middle class life together. His father had been a doctor back in India and had to take numerous licensing exams to be able to practice and his mother was a teacher. Arnav grew up in a very happy household, his parents teaching him his native tongue of Hindi and Punjabi very early on, knowing that he'd pick up English in school easily which he did. He is very proud of his culture and being able to speak more than three different languages, his best friend spoke Spanish so he picked that up as well.
Of course very quickly after the first few years of Arnav’s in school did his parents decide to move to Wilmington which meant he’d had to say goodbye to that best friend and the life he'd built there with friends and in the 3rd grade he'd joined the Wilmington elementary school.
Arnav was always decent in school, never doing too poorly but never exceeding expectations either. But he didn't care, he knew he'd get by with passing marks. What he was always really interested in was playing soccer. He was on the team and was one of their star players until a pretty severe injury ended those soccer playing dreams of his. He’d been so set on allowing soccer to be his crutch to get into a good college with a scholarship but without it--he was stranded. His parents made enough to help him but Arnav had been forced to take out student loans as well. He'd gone into sports medicine as a career choice and till date he is a qualified sports physician, but he doesn’t do that for work anymore.
Arnav grew up with parents who were always sickeningly sweet with one another, and most of his extended family was the same which meant this young man had always been surrounded by love and happy matches everywhere. Throughout his school and college life, he'd often be helping his friends find significant others, mostly all relationships that actually flourished. He hadn’t of course thought much of it until the Netflix show called Indian Matchmaking hit the screen.
If this random woman could make loads of money off of setting people up, irrespective of if they got married or not—why couldn’t Arnav? Arnav went to India for a few months, luckily able to work there on the type of visa he held and interned with Sima from Mumbai who had shared some of her secrets with him, not realizing he was going to use them all for his own business.
Once he’d gathered all his information from her, he came back to the United States, this time in a new city with his parents as he got started on this matchmaking business. It’s been nearly four years since he’d began and luckily there's been no looking back since. Arnav’s had a success rate of 93.53%; a fact he’s exceedingly proud of. He also doesn’t choose only a certain group of people to help—his services expand beyond different cultures and religions.
Personally Ari is someone who just loves romance and love and doesn't really pretend to hide that part of him. It's funny then to know that the man hasn't exactly had the best luck in finding romance for himself; this of course is not a fact he advertises much. He's fully open to finding the right person and slowly but surely he's going to realize that connecting with people is important even if its not the forever type of love.
He likes to spread the love everywhere and does so successfully. Now he's back in Wilmington, a city where majority of his childhood and teenage years had been spent. He doesn’t know if the people in the city require his services but he’s eager to help if they do—and given his affinity for the town, he’ll do it with a discount as well.

Week 10: Parisian Adventures
Hey everyone, welcome back to Week 10 of my blog! It feels crazy to think about the fact that I've been here for 10 weeks now - oh my god, the time is flying. And funny enough, from the Scottish Highlands to the Volcanos of the Canary Islands, one of the few things I haven't done so much is explore Paris. It's a massive city with so much to explore, and although I feel I've seen other parts of Europe really well, I know that Paris has so much more to offer. So, this week I'm going on Paris adventures - from learning more about the bakery scene to trying out new bars and meeting new people. So here we go...
Monday, March 18th - Monday began as a usual start to the week. I got a morning cycling class in before making my way to ENSEA in Cergy, France for my afternoon classes that day. I got my first ever midterms back, and I'm proud to say I didn't fail :) I was able to come back from class and catch a few hours of TV relaxation.
Tuesday, March 19th - Tuesdays are always the worst! I have a morning class at 8am, which means I wake up at 6am to make the hour and a half commute up to school. After one class, I have a six hour break before by three hour french class. It's so tough because if I got back to Paris for the break I only have two hours there, and if I stay in ENSEA, I don't have much to do. It's always a coin toss, but today I went back to Cergy, managed to hit the gym and grab lunch, before heading back up to ENSEA for my evening French class. After a tiring day of class, I always make my way back, cook up some pasta for dinner, and then crash.
Wednesday, March 20th & Thursday, March 21st - I'm gonna gloss over these two days a little bit, because as luck would have it I caught a cold. Somehow, I recovered pretty quick, but I was out for most of Wednesday & Thursday.
Friday, March 22nd - Friday was so fun! I started the day with a French Culture class, where our new Professor, started the clas by giving us some French treats from the Brittany region of France. After that, we had an amazing discussion of French work benefits, and hoenstly, after I heard what she had to say, I have to say I was tempted to move to France permanently. Here's a quick summary of what the average university graduate in a full time rolled (called Cadre or CDI in France) gets:
35 Hour Work Week & Any Extra work above that can be claimed in the form of extra vacation time later
5 weeks paid vacation per year, 11 public holidays, bonus Mondays & Fridays off when public holidays are on Tuesday/Thursday, 16/20 week paid maternity leave & 2 week paid paternity leave, 2 week paid leave if your child is ill, 1 week paid leave if you get married, and the list goes on!
Once you get hired as Cadre, it is literally impossible to get fired unless you commit a felony - in fact the french have a phrase that goes "to put in a cupboard" because its easier to silo a bad employee into a meaningless role (cupboard) than to fire them
Incredible social security type pension benefits
Free Public Insurance that covers a lot of things including all life-threatening ailments like caner & private insurance that costs 150-200 euros a month for a family of four
This is all a super longwinded way to say that the benefits in France are incredible. Anyway, after class I managed to go to the gym and relax for a few hours. That night, I went to a warehouse party in the 19th arrondissement with some friends in ENSEA. Man do the Europeans never quit - I was there until 5am!
Saturday, March 23rd - Saturday was a late start given the events of the previous night :) After grabbing a Portugese delicacy "Pastel de Nata" with friends from ENSEA, I came back home around noon and took a fat nap. I woke up without much homework to do and spent the evening going down a weird rabbit hole of algorithmic forex trading, working on building my own trading bot. Just a really random and weird evening.
Anyway, that night the same friends from ENSEA made thier way back to Paris, where we had a few drinks and played some card games. We then explored a youthful area of Paris known as "Bastille." It was amazing meeting a bunch of exchange students like us there!
Sunday, March 24th - As you might imagine, after the last two late nights. Sunday was a recovery day. I woke up super late, managed to get to the gym, and just spent the rest of the time catching up on homework.
For me, this was a week to explore in Paris, something I haven't had much of a chance to do with all the travel across Europe. But don't worry, next week I'm back off to the races with a 6 day trip across Germany!
A plus tard,

I like horror movies now
October 16th - 22nd
After spending six weeks in the 7th arrondissement I moved to the Parisian suburbs. The reason for this change of accommodation was that last spring when I booked my Airbnb I still hadn’t figured out if my move to Paris was going to be permanent — and if it was I could spend those few weeks searching for an apartment, which would cost me less than an Airbnb — or short term. The months before my departure, I realized that I wanted to use the first half of 2024 to do something else and if I stayed in Paris I would have to unnecessarily pay rent. Therefore, I looked for a second Airbnb while I was in Portugal. Due to high demand, finding an Airbnb that aligned with my dates was hard. Knowing that I would have a week of holiday at the end of October, I thought to myself “Why not just rent accommodation from the start of November, after my school break? That way I could maybe go home during that one week and save some money”. Well, I didn’t end up going home and because I had to leave my first apartment two weeks before I was able to move into the next, I found myself in a tricky situation. Looking back I honestly can’t comprehend why I didn’t rent my first Airbnb until the school break. In conclusion, I had to look for a temporary place to live for two weeks until I could move again. After this rant, you can probably tell that finding housing in Paris is rather a difficult task. And if you wonder why I didn’t look for student residencies, I did, but most of them were already full, too far away, or extremely expensive. At last, I found something in the suburbs. Although I’m not familiar at all with the outskirts of Paris, thankfully I had my friends to guide me to which areas were safer.
If there is one thing you need to know about me — besides being a swifty — it is that I’m a HUGE Halloween fan. It’s my favorite holiday even though it isn’t really celebrated in Europe. Spooky season is the best time of year for me. Reading this you would assume that I like horror but the contrary is the case. I never used to watch scary movies because I’ve always been afraid of them, thinking that the terrifying scenes would later haunt me in my sleep or something like that. But this past week I think I overcame my fear. Let me explain. There is a horror movie trilogy on Netflix that I’ve been wanting to see for a while — mostly because Sadie Sink is in it — called Fear Street. Considering that we’re in the middle of spooky season, I finally felt brave enough to watch it and I loved it. Actually, it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. Feeling proud of my small but nevertheless astonishing accomplishment I proceeded to watch Scream (1996). This might be an unpopular opinion but from always hearing so much about this franchise my expectations were high. So I was quite surprised by the disappointment. The movie itself is well made for its time, but the revelation of the killer and the motive they had was just stupid. (Spoilers ahead!) The fact that two teenage boys started killing people for no particular reason other than boredom is simply unsatisfying and perfectly shows the stupidity of men. I’m not saying that they didn’t pull it off because they clearly did by killing I don’t know how many people but the idea of calling your victim to create suspense before murdering them is hideous, to say the least. I can't take it seriously. Why didn't they just NOT answer the phone? I can see why most people consider this a classic but personally, the ghost face mask is the only true iconic thing about it besides the few famous scenes that everyone knows. I said what I said.
The past few days I’ve been busy prepping for my mid-term exams, reviewing what we’ve gone through in class, and trying to memorize everything. The good thing is, that the grammar topics we looked at are merely a repetition for me. Let’s hope for the best.

Notes:
I planned this out a while ago but never had the guts to write it. In the end I made a one shot out of it!!! You can probably see how drstically different this is hehe
The name of Kous cat ties into the whole sky thing as it comes from the word super nova. The explosion of a star at the end of its lifetime.

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2023
Wow. What a day it was today. I woke up and went to my public health class where I did a group presentation. Up until this quarter, I was always scared of public speaking despite my experience with debate in high school. However, this quarter has tremendously helped with my fear of public speaking. I simply do not care anymore. I thought I did very well on my presentation and I ended up with a 100% grade on it. LESGOOOOOOOOOOO. After the lecture, I headed over to Jerckhoff to get some work done and talk to some friends. We had some very beefy and juicy conversations over some Panda Express and chicken fettuccine. I had a great time there. I then headed over to discussion for my public health class. I then went back to Jerckhoff until 4 PM. I wanted to go watch the Dodgers and Braves baseball game, so I headed back to my dorm, and I ended up falling asleep for four hours. I woke up around 9:30 and did some work. Overall, very nice night and I am glad that everything went well today!
My JP, Hayley Wong, is doing extravagantly spectacular today. She was able to get some interviews in so I am happy for her! She had these awesome potato chips which were truly delightful. I am so happy for my Journey Partner.
