I just need to rant about Miraculous

Can someone seriously explain to me why Marinette never communicates with Chat Noir? Reruns are playing on my TV and the Scarabella episode (Hacksan) is playing and I literally cannot get over the fact that Marinette most likely knew that this trip was coming up for a while and did not think to tell her partner "Hey, I might have to leave for a couple days and I can't get out of it. I'll try to think of something" And instead she just completely leaves him in the dark, like she always does. His anger in this episode is absolutely justified, yes even his violent reaction to Scarabella thinking she was a villain. When I first started watching this show, I was 14 and now I'm twenty and I've been a Chat Noir fan since the beginning so maybe I'm biased. But I feel like the further into the show we get, the more they keep ruining and building Marinette's character like they're on a fcking see-saw. She's always been a lot and I could get behind it, but frankly it gets harder and harder to like Marinette as time goes on. Which sucks because I do lover her, I think she can be pretty complex sometimes. (I also gained the Autistic Marinette headcannon a few years ago thanks to Ao3 and I adore it) Like, I know this girl is only fourteen but seriously it sometimes feels like she doesn't learn from her mistakes and I cannot stand characters that don't truly learn. (Yes, I'm aware she does learn from her mistakes but it feels overshadowed by her constant disregardment of her hero partner.) They are literally two-halves of a whole.

Did you as a kid or do you now have a favorite national mascot?

I actually had two. In elementary school we had a teach special order us personalized McGruff the crime dog books so he was one and my other was Smokey the Bear. I grew up relatively close to where Smokey the Bear was found and eventually buried.

OH GOSH, hahah well, in the 80s/90s if you were a young Canadian taking French classes in East Coastal-to-Central Canada (areas where I lived and was mandatory in many schools here until high school), you learned about Bonhomme Carnaval, the mascot of Carnaval de Québec. I have distinct memory of doing colouring sheets and trivia about it in elementary school, LOL. And then of course, our national animal, the Beaver LOL. AND THEN of course the cute little mascots we had in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver... I think I actually have or had McDonalds cups with them on them, LOL.

Aside from that though, our mascots are more just... national things that represent Canada, like poutines, beer, hockey, maple leaves, and maple syrup. But yeah we also had McGruff and Smokey because anything that goes on in the US usually happens in Canada, LOL.

But Bonhomme is definitely specific to French Canada, so I guess that's memorable for me LOL.

You look masculine. And I’d presume, from looking at you, you’re queer. But to “look butch” is to look like a masculine lesbian.

It’s like saying every gender conforming woman I pass on the street is a femme. Well no, they are feminine. A femme is a feminine lesbian, not just anyone who is feminine.

You’re not a butch or a dyke because those are lesbian-specific terms with history and cultural significance for lesbians.

If you’re going to talk about your love and attraction for men (slay! I really don’t care) just don’t act like you’re speaking from a butch dyke experience! It renders the words butch and dyke totally meaningless if they aren’t used to describe a lesbian experience.

Why do you even want to describe yourself using terms for identities that weren’t created to describe your experience?
