More Jumbled Thoughts on the Psychology of Inspector Javert
Building on the mention of Prison Mother and Law Father:
Javert exits his mother's womb into another symbolic womb: the prison, a place where transformation happens, where men are turned into beasts. Like a womb the prison entraps, monitors, maintains and sustains the life of its prisoner, but also can kill him. Because of her ethnicity and estrangement from society, Javert divorces himself from his biological mother and, in this way, the prison system holds the symbolic role of the mother in Javert's life. Because Javert is born without a father there is a symbolic void, an absence which he fills with The Law. In the philosophy of Carl Jung the Father archetype represents authority and responsibility; he is the protector and provider. Javert requires this figure to form a family triad, every child requires stability and that stability is found in parental figures- whether biological or otherwise. It is in prison where Javert adopts his affinity with observing: observing is safe, observing is a guilt-free activity because it is amoral: the observer does not partake in, and thus approve of, or disapprove of the activity he observes. In addition, observation is a passive activity. Prison and the Law teach Javert to be passive, because to be passive is to be safe from unwelcome observation, it is to be small and unseen. We see this in how Javert behaves at the barricade, like Valjean he turns into himself returning to the state of dissociation that gave him comfort in childhood.
By the time Javert leaves the womb he is already a man and so he is trapped in a sort of psychological infancy. He cannot develop beyond the idea of black and white right or wrong. He cannot move, like a man does, away from the overbearing and domineering psychological influence of his parents. He seeks to please them and when he feels he has failed he suffers mental and emotional distress and anguish. He prefers straightforward tasks, requires reassurance and praise, and seeks out the attention and approval of his parents in all things. He has been taught to be obedient and passive from birth and has not had the experience of a life outside of ‘the family’ with which he might compare his way of living. As he divorced his biological mother, Javert divorces his symbolic mother by abandoning the prison system and moving to the Law pure to work as a police officer. This is because, as a man, he seeks to identify with the masculine identity in himself as if represented by his Father. But also because the approval of his father is the ultimate form of safety because in reality, Javert’s Father figure is the Dark Father: he is critical, often cruel, emotionally distant, he is the father who consumes their own child. For what does the Law give Javert? Not social status, not family, not community, not love, not an appeasement of hunger or the safety of a good solid income.
Like the son who never flies the nest, he forms few to no other social or sexual relationships. How can he when all of his psychological and emotional energy is going into fulfilling his parents' perceived needs? This is part of the danger of Jean Valjean. He disrupts, he invites in Javert sentiments and psychological excitements which draw him away from his primary focus of satisfying his parents. He entices with an alternate way of life in which a man might live by his own values, independent and seeking only his own approval. And he introduces physical desire into Javert's life also, forcing him through a sort of psychological puberty from sexless child to confused and frustrated yearning adult. What emotions he should have had years to understand he is forced to process in short and destabilising bursts. He does not even have the language to express to himself what he desires, beyond the framework of service and pleasing a superior figure or destroying and harming the cause of the destabilisation.
Jean Valjean also entices because he is The Father. This can be seen in the development of his relationships: as a young man he is the father figure to his nieces and nephews, then he is Father Madeleine to M-Sur-M, then he is Cosette’s adopted father. Valjean represents what Javert has searched for since childhood, a figure to fill the symbolic void of the absent father. Unlike his cruel, judgemental Dark Father in the figure of The Law, Valjean is accepting, merciful, gentle, patient and forgiving. He offers praise, community, tenderness, but without the lack of any traditional masculine traits; he is strong, powerfully built, handsome, respectable, wise, intelligent, masterful, dominant, and holds social influence. To put it in a vulgar terminology: Javert has Daddy Issues. Valjean is the symbolic Father he has yearned for to treat the wounds of his agonised childhood. Now, this is not to say he wishes Valjean to be his father, that would be a naive interpretation. It is to say that he requires a figure to take that role in his emotional and psychological hierarchy. But it is also why he has such an internal conflict: to abandon the Law Father is to turn his back on a lifetime of programming, but worse: to accept that he is lovable and deserving of respect, mercy and tenderness without having to deprive himself and exhaust himself mentally and emotionally to earn those things. And worst of all, to face the belief that he has already proven through his acts that he is not worthy of this freely given love and approval that his potential Good Father offers him. The Dark Father is ingrained in Javert’s very psychology, even outside of his presence (as outside as he can ever be) he is ruled by the critical and cruel judgements and strict rules that his Dark Father has set for him. In a moment of agonised realisation, Javert comes to understand that he is worthy of Love and that he has made himself unworthy of it all at once: the perspectives of two warring Father symbols whose conflict ultimately tears apart Javert’s fragile psyche.

Kogami: Fear of Entanglement
So I just have some Shinkane Analysis leftovers here which I wanna share with you guys. Some time after another. And right now, here's a significant one 🤭.
You see I really wanna focus on sharing some personal insights/analysis of the other PP characters both Protag and Antag. But with limited time, I think I will have to post it via schedule or queue. 🤗
Anyway, here's my thought why Kogami seemingly keeping a safe distance from Akane ever since he gets back from Tibet (Tenzing's abode in SS3).
💠💠💠💠
Tumblr media
Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsunemori's relationship in "Psycho-Pass" is complex and nuanced. Here’s a detailed analysis of whether Kogami has feelings for Akane and the reasons he might be keeping his distance from her:
Potential Feelings for Akane
Protectiveness: Kogami consistently displays a strong sense of protectiveness towards Akane. He often steps in to shield her from harm and provides guidance, suggesting a level of care beyond mere professional duty.
Trust and Respect: Throughout the series, Kogami shows deep respect for Akane's judgments and decisions, even when they differ from his own. He values her perspective and treats her as an equal, indicating a significant emotional investment in her.
Subtle Emotional Expressions: Kogami is generally stoic, but there are subtle moments where his concern for Akane is evident, such as his reactions when she is in danger or when she makes significant decisions. These moments hint at deeper feelings.
Reasons for Keeping His Distance
Professional Boundaries: As a former Inspector turned Enforcer, Kogami understands the importance of maintaining professional boundaries. His role is to act as a tool of the system, and forming close personal relationships, especially with someone in a higher position, could compromise his effectiveness and objectivity.
Personal Mission: Kogami is driven by a personal mission to seek revenge against Shogo Makishima, the man responsible for his descent into the Enforcer role. This single-minded pursuit leaves little room for personal relationships or emotional entanglements.
Fear of Corruption: Kogami is acutely aware of the potential for his darker impulses to influence those around him. He might fear that his presence could corrupt or endanger Akane, whose idealism and moral integrity he deeply respects.
Emotional Self-Protection: Given the traumatic experiences Kogami has endured, he might be reluctant to form close emotional bonds to protect himself from further pain. His past has taught him the harsh consequences of attachment, and distancing himself from Akane could be a way to shield his own emotions.
Akane’s Safety: Kogami likely believes that staying close to Akane could put her in greater danger, given his own status as a target for criminal elements. By keeping his distance, he hopes to ensure her safety.
Conclusion
Kogami’s behavior towards Akane suggests a complex mix of respect, care, and possibly deeper feelings. However, his professional role, personal mission, fear of corruption, need for emotional self-protection, and concern for Akane’s safety all contribute to his decision to maintain distance. Their relationship is marked by a profound mutual respect and unspoken understanding, making it one of the most compelling dynamics in "Psycho-Pass."

okay modern acotar au but the setting is a shitty local bar and I might or might not have been tipsy when I wrote this.
Rhys inherited this crusty bar from his business tycoon father and, despite being utterly incapable of maintaining a well respectable establishment, he lowkey loves being able to boss the staff around and enjoys the all the “free” booze whenever he wants. No he does not file taxes. But he has given his wife, Feyre, creative reign over the place and she painted the walls herself, which was definitely a choice, but the patrons don’t really seem to mind the various eyeballs staring down at them so it sort of works for the place.
Cassian works security with Jurian but most nights he is the one who ends up starting something and it lowkey causes a lot of insurance liabilities but Rhys isn't really worried about all that. Cas also can’t stop sniffing after veteran bartender, Nesta, who will definitely throw your ass out if you so much as look at her wrong. The tension between them is causing a lot of “bad vibes” for the bar’s regulars, Lucien and Eris, who only come to this shithole establishment to get away from their dad (he’s sleeping on their couch because their mom left him for another man). Tamlin always wants to hangout, especially on open mic nights, but he doesn’t have a car and Eris refuses to drive a few extra minutes to pick him up because he doesn't want "unnecessary mileage" on his 2008 beat to shit BWM.
Elain works the front well because she’s the only one who can use the bar's new POS system and Mor waits tables because she’s a customer favorite (she's comps drinks for literally everyone). But there’s really no need for three bartenders on every shift (the bar gets like five customers, max) and Nesta definitely has that shit handled, so most nights Mor and Elain just sit out back near the dumpsters drinking wine coolers and gossiping. They occasionally upload TikTok videos with Gwyn and Emerie, two waitresses who work at the restaurant next door, but Rhys and Feyre let it slide because it’s good publicity.
Vassa, Tarquin, and Helion occasionally meet up at the bar after work (they work at the pr firm across the street) but only because the drinks are cheap and their asshole boss, Amarantha, thinks the establishment is "below her", so they don't feel obligated to invite her along. Helion has slept with like half the staff, and has some weird thing going on with one of the regular's mom, but he always tips well and at least he's consistent. Once, Tarquin let Cassian borrow his boat so he could take Nesta on a date, but he crashed it into a dock when he was trying to park and it ended up being this whole thing. Amren, the lawyer Feyre hired, has sorta advised the staff to refrain from talking about all that though.
Azriel, the bar manager, smokes cigarettes in the old walk-in cooler (Feyre painted it one night during a staff party) between shifts and wonders how the fuck he ended up being in charge of keeping this trainwreck running. He would have quit the job five years ago but he needs the money and Rhys at least offers half decent health insurance. The bar occasionally gets letters from Beron, the local health inspector who is totally on Rhysand’s case, but Az just throws them away in the raccoon infested dumpster outback (the girls swear they haven’t been feeding them) and yearns for the day this whole shitshow finally gets shut down.
Oh, the baby? Yeah he handles accounting and the shadow monster in the basement is in charge of the social media. don't ask.

tell me about your rw ocs!!
Tumblr media
:D sure!
The main ones I've been doodling are Three Rivers and the Administrator (AKA Mini), who basically spawned out of faffing around in a giant doc of iterator headcanons. (I was trying to work out how an "off the string" scenario could be done with my particular headcanon interpretations of iterators and their puppets, and brain basically made up a guy, lol.)
Three Rivers is an iterator who manages to eventually remove their own taboos (and later goes off the string) via a very risky and roundabout plan:
Reassign abandoned citizen ID drones to a bunch of reasonably intelligent organisms
Do this enough times to establish the minimum number of "citizens" needed to revive a specific voting council
Have the "citizens" vote in a (rigged) election to promote one trusted organism (in this case, a personally selected and hand raised slugcat - that's Mini!) to the rank of Junior Administrator (Senior admin requires tougher credentials for approval, unfortunately)
Get your new Junior Administrator to disable the basic antivirus security and administer a homemade taboo-erasing retrovirus into your systems! Preferably foolproof this step as much as possible so even a slugcat with limited understanding of iterator technology can still carry it out effectively.
The security system flags your new administrator for "suspicious behavior" and "genetic ID mismatch" partway through the infection process, puts the rest of the facility into lockdown, and demands senior admin access to restore basic functionality
Uh
Whoops
That wasn't supposed to happen--
Ironically, TR wasn't even trying to get "off the string" at the time - she just wanted to be able to upgrade and maintain her own facility beyond what her own very limited system privileges allowed her, and the whole mobile puppet thing was kind of an afterthought? But once half the structure stopped cooperating and the inspectors kept trying to kill her little administrator, well... there were only so many options left.
So, using what limited resources they still had control over, they made a traveling puppet (yay self-modification!) and ditched their failing structure to set off out into the world, followed by a small entourage of slugcats and scavengers. The others don't have designs yet, but I feel like that would be a whole post all on its own, lol...
I'm still working on a design for the traveling puppet, but the idea is that it's basically derived/reconstructed from the same base organism used to create normal iterator puppets, just bigger, more robust, and generally capable of surviving independently of the superstructure! (The concept was loosely inspired by the likes of @/ikayblythe's reiterator AU, haha)
Tumblr media
Due to the state of the facility, though, it's something of a rush job. It looks cool, but the mouth goes nowhere and is just for show, and it still has to manually flush slag by running a bunch of water through the pseudolymphatic system and directly dumping the Microbial Waste Goop out the back ports, and some of the other internal components are... not terribly efficient... and they had to ditch so much processing power to get this thing up and running before time ran out, but hey, it works, so cool proof of concept, right? Right??
anyway her nearest neighbor eventually catches this on an overseer and just about shits a brick lol

Headcanons (Les Mis I)
My Headcanons(?) of Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables" in an AU set in Kazuo Ishiguro's world of "Never Let Me Go".
(This thread contains SPOILERS from both books.)
Cosette grows up in an academy (farm 😞) designed to raise clones for organ donation. It's one of the few that cares about education and treating the clones well, but it has fewer resources and lower conditions compared to the academy in the original story. One day, while looking through a magazine, she sees a picture of the real Cosette, happy with Fantine (My Fantine is a seamstress and she’s doing great in life). This makes Cosette clone want to find her own place in the world, so she decides to escape.
Valjean, who is against the organ donation system, finds Cosette Clone. Determined to give her a real life, he adopts and protects her, trying to keep her from being sacrificed when she turns 20.
Javert is an inspector dedicated to maintaining the donation system. When he learns that Valjean has adopted Cosette Clone, he starts chasing them to bring her back to the system she escaped from.
Marius is not a clone. When he discovers the existence of the Amis clones, he is shocked to see replicas of his deceased friends. As he learns about this world, he can’t help but become friends with them. (A sad life I gave him, he can't catch a break even here.)
In this version, the Amis are clones who met in one of the many donor academies (similar to the one in "Never Let Me Go," but some came from other places with worse conditions and met while waiting for their fate). Enjolras wants to start a rebellion against the donation system (because that’s what was missing in the book 😢).
Combeferre hears a rumor: if clones can prove to the academy’s director that they have real emotions, they might be allowed to live a few more years before being forced to donate. He convinces Enjolras to try this first.
Grantaire, who fits this scenario perfectly, presents his artwork to the director. His paintings are so expressive that the director is impressed, wondering how someone without real emotions could create something so deep.
SPOILER: It doesn’t work.
Jehan is the first of the Amis to die. Even though he supports Enjolras’s vision and believes in the rebellion, he wouldn’t deny anyone a donations. 😢

introducing my psycho-pass oc! brought to life by @catyypss 💜 i haven't fully fleshed out the details, but here's what we (i) know about her so far!
⤷ kogami's twin sister ⤷ honestly, i haven't given her a name yet. 😂 ⤷ originally an actress/singer (i actually wanted to explore what celebrities were like in a sybil world, but then season 3 came out and we did get to see that! how cool!) ⤷ BUT she became an inspector once her brother was demoted ⤷ (she really wanted to protect her brother! 😭 and she thought this was the best way to help him since he wouldn't have access to everything anymore.) ⤷ respects her brother a lot and looks up to him (they have a good relationship!) ⤷ also went to high school with kogami & ginoza ⤷ as kids, kogami tried to make her a bookworm but homegirl just... would not. (definitely teased her about it.) ⤷ people assume she's not that booksmart but she ranked above average at school & she has a sharp memory (it helped her a lot as a performer, but if she showed off a little while investigating -- can't blame a girl) ⤷ kogami & ginoza were both concerned when she said she'd become an inspector. kogami was much more quick to accept it (he trusts his sister a lot), whereas ginoza was much more upset ⤷ relatively good at maintaining her hue (learned a lot of stress management as a celebrity) ⤷ among the enforcers, she and yayoi chat a lot about music (though their tastes are very different), and maybe she and masaoka came up with ideas to tease gino ⤷ she's honestly not sure what to make of the sybil system, especially post-season 1; it's a system that judged both her brother and her friend (ginoza) so harshly. she knows they're both good people, so how fair can it all be? ⤷ personality-wise, i think she's level-headed and headstrong (would also be the type to stop bullying, with her words not her fists), she's charming and knows it, and growing up around kogami's teasing, she also loves to have fun and use her wit in her own way ⤷ post season 1 idea? she becomes a reporter or journalist (i just love the yayoi & oc team agenda!) to focus on elevating unheard voices, particularly of people sybil would try to otherwise ignore or disapprove of (very big immigrants rights activist in dejima once japan opened borders) i also think she would be so cool as a spy...
oc and ginoza ⤷ ginoza was interested in her when they were in school (come on, she's super pretty!), but i hc that he didn't feel confident asking her out (and has likely super tsundere about his feelings this whole time) ⤷ he DID support her during school plays/shows ⤷ i think oc was also intrigued by this serious guy from the get-go and soon developed her own crush, but because of her career, maybe she didn't have time for romance either ⤷ they were still good friends all throughout school and into adulthood (ginoza would attend oc's shows/premieres and bring flowers!) ⤷ UNTIL kogami's demotion ⤷ as much as he respects his best friend and as much as he cares about oc, he just doesn't think it's a good idea for her to enter the mwpsb for a reason like this (she doesn't realize what she's getting herself into) ⤷ let's say they're just disgruntled partners for a while (but gino's a softie; he's not going to stay mad forever!) ⤷ BECAUSE I WILL GO DOWN WITH THIS SHIP!!1!!! ⤷ given ginoza's personality pre/during s1, i think she would have to be the one to pursue him a little ⤷ but once he's demoted, nothing else matters, the floodgates open, and he tells her his feelings ⤷ i think because the two of them already cared a lot about each other before the timing was right, it would be emotional when they first get together (oc wants ginoza to be happy and want more for himself, ginoza wants to cherish and be good to the person he's held at arms length for so long) -- not sure if they tried dating before and it failed, and then tried again after ginoza becomes an enforcer, or if they try for the first time only after he's an enforcer. either way, the road is very long and filled with pining.
i know i've typed a lot, but i feel like i've left a lot of holes in her story. i mean, she doesn't even have a name yet... how can i name her ship?!?!?
i really want to develop her former life as an actress/idol more! (particularly, a darker story, like a crime happening at her agency or something?) give her some work-related trauma.
i also want to explore her naïveté, with how she decided to become an inspector. obviously, she passed the requirements, but does she have the heart? can she pull the trigger? what's gonna be her "oh shit" moment? (she needs PLENTY!!)
other minor things: ⤷ it was meeting akane that made her realize the way she supported her brother wasn't what was healthiest for him and his mind. she respects her a lot! ⤷ she really loves cute people! so she really wants to be a big sis to characters like mika, kei, arata, etc. (naturally, she thought baby gino was ADORABLE)
some future ideas i want to focus on: ⤷ how does she separate herself from her brother? ⤷ would she and gino even work as a couple? (too late, they gotta since i already commissioned art of them. LOL)
that's all she wrote (for now). if you see this, please help me come up with a name. i want it to be pretty! ;-;

Psycho Pass reflection
Tumblr media
Psycho Pass talked about the ability of what the futures holds, and the field of visibility this module is talking about. The story begins as the newly graduated inspector Akane Tsunemori went on her first mission to capture the rouge person holding a 20 year old women captive. During the mission, she saw how the crime coefficient is altered throughout a person's action. Crime coefficient is basically what the futuristic society determines people as, or the probability o them to commit a serious crime. Different levels correlates with the Dominator, type of weapon used by the police force in the futuristic society the show described, upon detaining criminals three levels is active, the safe zone, zone for parlyzing, and zone for elimination. During her first mission, the guy who gave up all his will to live and sabotages the city with his final action of rebellion, he did despicable things, and ultimately judged by the dominator as zone for elimination. However, the complication of the system also starts here, the female victim's crime coefficient was also incredibly high and are at the zone for elimination despite her being the victim. The reason being is that she is afraid of what's going to happen. But the police were given instructions to judge the people based on what the dominator says. Akane swooped in and paralyzes the enforcer before he can eliminate the female victim. The first instance where the faulty crime coefficient system is shown during the show.
Many more examples from later on shows the faultiness of the society including the main antagonist Shogo Makishima, who is able to maintain his crime coefficient level although in the midst of killing someone. He also developed the helmet for which crime coefficient can be adapted to the surroundings others, this was originally intended to show government as a way to move back the society to the past, but it served as a way for criminals to commit crimes throughout the city.
This show showed that societies can't be perfect no matter how much we want it to be. Many of us can be moral about situation, but chaos will still remain no matter how much we try to prevent it.

I got inspired and wanted to write this short silly dialogue with poor descriptions, as it's not part of any chapter, I got carried away with the conversation. It's been months since I wrote about Makishima. I noticed I became more interested in Touma lately. Sorry in advance because I know I may not be good at writing his character ^-^
*****
"The world will sink with a speed few can imagine. Honest and virtuous men will be forced to give up everything, abandoning their lives and jobs. Figures like former Inspector Meyer Kane or former Professor Kanno Yamato began their struggle without knowing defined time limits. They were unaware if they would live long enough to witness society's liberation or if their duty was to pass it on to future generations. However, their certainty lay in the way they chose to live. Now, they understand that the day of their triumph is inexorably approaching," declared Makishima.
“When?” Yashiro asked.
"When Sibyl contradicts itself. Do you remember what you told me three years ago when we first met? When Sibyl no longer finds any more culprits upon whom to inflict its punishments, when the advocates of sacrifice discover that those willing to practice it have nothing left to sacrifice and those who still possess it refuse to do so, when man realizes that no material resource can save him and his own mind, that faculty which has been so vilified, no longer responds to his pleas, when they collapse as mere men devoid of conscience, purpose, morality, authority, law, hope, not even with a crumb of food or the possibility of obtaining it, then the path will be clear for those endowed with a true mind to rebuild what once was. You don't have to give me an answer right now. You are the second person to whom I've revealed my plan. You had to know. You understand the nature of the choice you must make. If it seems harsh to you, it's because you believe it's not yet time to lean one way or the other. But you will see that it must be done," explained Makishima.
"Can you grant me time?" Yashiro asked.
"I have no right to dictate your time. Only you can decide what to do and when. Understand the cost of that decision, as we've all paid for it. You are part of a world I seek to destroy. You are my sole danger, the only one who could deliver me to my enemies. If you choose to remain with them, you will do so either by your own will or by force. Opt for it if you wish, but do so with full awareness of your decision."
“Many people could die.”
“How many people have died or been imprisoned for Sibyl to exist?” Makishima asked.
"How many people have died or been imprisoned for you to live?" Yashiro responded.
"What the Sibyl System has perpetrated in this world is an atrocity. The humans who erected it understood their mission perfectly: to seek power and control to obtain virtue and courage, qualities that, in their pitiable lives, they would never have conquered on their own," Makishima asserted firmly.
"And aren't you another product of that same atrocity?" Yashiro posed.
After her questioning, silence filled the room. Makishima remained quiet, absorbed by the impact of Yashiro's words. His gaze softened as he looked into her eyes, while Yashiro was lost in thought.
“You could have chosen differently. Just like I could have chosen to walk away from the gate instead of seeking entry,” Yashiro said, with a mixture of bitterness and resignation.
“Maybe someday, you will owe nothing more to this world, nor will I try saving it,” Makishima responded.
“I hope so,” she murmured.
"You've absorbed all the knowledge I had to offer. You can end this here and now if you wish. It was your decision to join them. You don't owe me anything. There's no duty you must consider or fulfill. I want nothing from you. Nothing more than what you choose to offer. As long as you decide to keep working for them, for whatever reason, I have no right to resent it, and I won't," Makishima continued, maintaining his calm yet firm tone.
“You speak like a trader,” Yashiro observed, her voice reflecting her surprise at Makishima's unusual attitude.
"I know nothing about that. How do you trade with men?" Makishima responded with a question.
"You see, if a man were to ask me for more than he means to me, I would refuse. If he asked me to give up my quest, he'd never see me again. I don't accept sacrifices nor make them. If one's pleasure must be bought with another's pain, then there'd better be no trade at all. A trade where one gains and the other loses is a fraud. I don't do it in business, let alone in my life. Don't do it in yours, Shougo," Yashiro explained, her gaze fixed on Makishima.
Makishima slowly widened his eyes, recalling the words spoken by other women throughout his life. At that precise moment, as he looked at the serious and implacable face of the woman in front of him, he saw the distance between her and the others, the difference in what they sought from him and from life.
"Loving someone solely for their virtues is selfish and cruel," a former classmate of his had said back in university years ago. "There's nothing nobler than embracing someone for their flaws. People should be loved for who they are, even if their actions are reprehensible. I don't want to be loved for my deeds, words, or thoughts; I want to be loved for simply being myself."
"So, what are you?" Makishima had asked.
But there was no answer. In the solitude of long, silent nights, Makishima found himself ensconced in contemplation, his posture relaxed yet weighted. With one leg crossed over the other, he sat with his head nestled against the seat back, a closed book resting on his thigh. His gaze wandered beyond the confines of the room, past the neon lights and towering skyscrapers, towards an unreachable horizon.
Each time Yashiro's figure graced the room, a subtle shift occurred within him. His stoic countenance softened imperceptibly, a ghost of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he squinted his eyes in a gesture of quiet recognition. Her relentless and confident demeanor cast a curious spell upon him, prompting a subtle tilt of his head as he contemplated the enigma she presented. It was as if a silent battle raged within him—a battle against her presence and the realization that he had much yet to understand about her.
Her smile, he mused, held an elusive allure—a tantalizing blend of warmth and mystery that beckoned him closer even as it remained just out of reach. It was a smile that demanded to be earned, destined for an adversary who could match her strength and resilience, not for a man seeking solace in that smile and thus destroying its meaning.
Within Makishima, a sense of urgency stirred—a silent acknowledgment that he had a battle to win before he could bask in her presence. For he understood that her smile was not a mere gift to be taken lightly, but a prize to be won.

What is the life expectancy of a full body harness?
An effective fall protection system’s full body safety harness is an essential component. The harness has two functions: initially, it safely distributes the impacts of a free fall throughout a worker’s body, and subsequently, it gives the worker enough flexibility of movement to execute his or her task. The sit harness, which holds the waist and thighs, and the torso harness, which supports the shoulders and chest, are combined into the full body harness. The entire body package includes the human body and helps to maintain its upright position during a fall occurrence when applied properly.
When someone falls from a height, a full-body harness is intended to keep the person standing. A complete body harness, when worn properly, will uniformly disperse the force created by free-fall throughout the user’s body, lowering the risk of major damage.
Various types of cloth webbing are stitched together to produce different patterns or straps to create full-body safety harnesses. Polyester and nylon are typical materials for harness webbing. For harnesses being used in dangerous situations like welding and arc flash settings, specific materials like Kevlar are used. With the aid of buckles, the harness belts are secured to the body. Tongue, quick-attachment, and spring tension connectors are typical harness fasteners. Conventional full-body harnesses have straps and buckles that can be adjusted to fit snugly around the torso, legs, and shoulders.
A safety harness typically has a lifespan of five years. The longevity of a safety harness will fluctuate across brands and types, with some having higher estimated life spans than normal and others having differing degrees of warranties.
The finest and only method to tell if a harness remains safe to use is to regularly have it thoroughly inspected by a professional person. This comprises both a formal examination by qualified individuals and a wearer-performed examination each time before usage.
A qualified inspector is conscious of every element that contributes to a safety harness to be suitable for use. These regular examinations should be kept in a record with all the necessary information. Even though these checks are crucial, the user must also perform a pre-usage assessment to catch any last-minute mistakes.

January 2118. Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane Tsunemori, receives a report of an incident on a foreign vessel – the body of Professor Milicia Stronskaya has been discovered. Behind the incident is a group known as the Peacebreakers, a foreign paramilitary organization and a new outside threat who are targeting the professor’s research papers known as the “Stronskaya Document”.
Reunited with Shinya Kogami, a former fugitive from the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane grapples with a case that quickly escalates beyond their expectations. The Stronskaya Papers could reveal a truth that would shake Japan's government, and even the Sibyl System, to the core.
It is in this untold story that the missing link is revealed.
*PSYCHO-PASS franchise:* The franchise revolves around The Sibyl System, an authoritarian system that quantifies the human personality. Sibyl’s analysis dictates every aspect of the citizens' future. In exchange for Sibyl’s rule, the citizens enjoy a peaceful life.
With all manner of mental states and trends being recorded and monitored, the standard by which an individual's soul is measured is a number that people have come to call the PSYCHO-PASS.
Detectives, wielding guns called Dominators that measure criminal potential, work closely with enforcers who hunt down latent criminals before they can break the law.
The young inspector Akane Tsunemori, a part of the Criminal Investigation Department, and her partner, enforcer Shinya Kogami, wrestle with the question of how a fair and perfect society can be upheld and maintained by a system that could possibly be corrupt.

re the big cats plus catnip video: The acct that supplied the video is a rescue facility that provides housing for big cats previously kept in poor conditions in roadside zoos or who were part of the illegal pet trade. The interspecies pairs were bonded in their previous captivity and some of the animals are very used to human handling, but they frequently mention that these are NOT pets. not everything is exploiting animals, sometimes things are good actually
Yes, sometimes things are good, but not when people are actually exploiting animals lol.
There were a whole bunch of people in the comments of the catnip video saying basically what you're saying, it's a rescue facility and the cats are treated well etc etc. The thing is, no amount of flowery feel-good language on the part of the people making these videos negates the reality that what they are showing is just. Not okay.
So here's what I found after literally five minutes of researching this so-called rescue facility.
The videos are all posted by a tiktok user called safarisammie, and her videos are full of red flags. There's loads of cuddling with the animals, a ton of supposed inter-species 'bonded-pairs' (it is very rare that keeping inter-species bonded pairs together is actually what's best for the animals. Having a whole bunch of these pairs is just... No. If you see a facility boasting bonded pairs, consider it a red flag). Most of the videos are clearly made for the purposes of getting views, rather than educating the public.
Even if the facility itself was okay (it's not) these videos would still be problematic. The exotic pet trade is a serious threat to many endangered animals and is only bolstered by accounts like these showing dangerous wild animals as cute cuddly friends. This kind of stuff will lead to animals suffering and humans getting injured/dying when they find out that they can't actually keep their pet lion in check.
But it goes far deeper than just sketchy videos.
The account is part of the company Single Vision Inc., owned by a man named Carl Bovard who runs a ten-acre facility in Melrose, Florida. The facility houses big cats, bears, primates, crocodiles, and a range of other animals.
They host interactive cub petting tours, which is incredibly dangerous and unethical. Many of these animals are perfectly capable of biting of a finger even at a very young age. They are seperated from their mothers for the entertainment of tourists who do not know how to safely handle them and who have every opportunity to spread diseases to the cubs, whose immune systems are still underdeveloped. Also this facility just always happens to have a whole bunch of cubs on hand, whereas most legit rescues rarely have any. To ensure his supply he has to be constantly breeding them and/or buying them somewhere. Also there are no records of what happens to these cubs once they are too old for the petting tours. This all means he isn't rescuing these animals from roadside zoos or illegal pet traders, he is a roadsize zoo runner and illegal pet trader.
But hey, maybe it's not entirely terrible, maybe at least the animals are still taken care of properly right? Hate to break it to you, but they are not.
Between 2014 and 2021, USDA inspections have cited over 36 violations. These violations include
taking tigers to flea markets to pose for photos with tourists
declawing big cats
visitors getting injured while petting a bear cub
poorly maintained enclosures that are straight-up dangerous for the animals to be in
inadequate species-specific diets, literally just feeding the animals whatever instead of taking their actual needs into account
no primate-specific enrichment
drinking water so dirty that inspectors could not see the bottom of the containers
inadequate record keeping of deaths and acquisitions of new animals. This violation was listed in 2020 and spoke of no less than six unrecorded dead animals. A 2021 follow-up inspection found another 8 unrecorded animal deaths.
Like I did not originally comment on that video because I'm an asshole who hates fun. I commented because I saw things that were very clear proof of animal expoitation, even without having to do further research.
So with all that being said, I will reiterate what I commented on the original video:
Any facility housing interspecies pairs of wild cats does not have the animals best interest at heart
Any facility allowing handlers this close to big cats does not care about safety of either humans or cats.
