I love how bnha parallels Izuku's first heroic act, his connection with other kids and Tenko's past.
In the first chapter of bnha, while the slime villain is about to kill Bakugo, everyone is waiting for a hero with the right quirk to show up and save him.
Deku's lifelong dream of being a hero has just been rejected by All Might, so he's "trying to be realistic" as everyone told him he should be.
Instead, Deku's body moves on its own once he realizes that a hero could arrive too late and Bakugo could be dead by them. In truth, Deku doesn't know what he's doing or why. His body moves on its own because "Bakugo looked like he needed saving".
That moment convinces All Might that Deku has what it takes to be a hero. Even more, to be an OFA user.
In Tenko's past we saw that no one around him would save him because they were waiting for the heroes to arrive. Similarly to what happened with Bakugo, except no Deku showed up to help little Tenko. He was roaming aimlessly, hands covered in blood and completely in shock. Yet, the people who passed by were too scared to act.
The chapter makes it very clear that if someone had reached for him, maybe things could have been different.
AFO "found him" in the end, planting in his heart the seeds of resentment against society and heroes for not saving or helping him at all.
When Deku comes across Eri, she's crying, arms full of bandages and she begs Deku to not let go. Although he had the disadvantage of being only Mirio and him against a seemingly dangerous man, Deku insisted on questioning Overhaul. He kept on using his mind to focus on the evidence he had that Overhaul was abusing Eri.
Deku's thoughts say it all. He cannot back down in the face of a frightened child crying. Aren't they heroes? Even if it's scary or too much to handle, it is their duty to react.
Like All Might first told him, his smile was to hide how scared he was, how nervous. It was his life on the line each time! That's what being a pro-hero means, being willing to put your life on the line to save others.
We saw a bit of that before, during the Summer training arc. Kota couldn't believe Deku would go so far to protect him. In fact, the reason for it was quite simple.
Deku is a hero.
Like Deku said:
" It's not a matter of what you can or can't do. For a hero, risking our lives and walking the walk is our job! "
The moment he saw Kota crying, Deku swore he would do anything to save him, no matter what.
So really, it's been building since day one. The only option for Tomura and Deku's fight resolution was for Deku to give his absolute best to help the person in front of him.
Kinda funny, how the name of my blog comes from such belief: that Tomura is both a victim and a villain, that a person can be both an answer to both parts of themselves in equal measure. One thing doesn't cancel the other out.

honestly even if izoch didnt become canon, i think they still had the best conclusion out of any relationships. the last climax of the final war was their talk, izuku basically calling ochako his hero and holding her hand? meanwhile we havent even gotten an actual talk between bkdk and izuku didnt even acknowledge anything bakugo did for him. thats why many people think hori chickened out from confirming izuoch and just left it soft canon/implied at the end.
i disagree with u, but i respect your opinion, i will show why i disagree tho
first:
izuku and ochako are definitely important to each other this is canon and is beyond love relationship, they are friends first, like everyone in class 1A, this is the canon part that is not implied. Obviously if some people view more as love it’s ok too!
but now let’s talk about the importance of the acknowledgment of the hero thing and the hold hands in mha!
calling someone hero there is to show how this person is important, it’s not romantic at all. Izuku is kota and eri’s hero and obviously this is not romantic, it’s a way to show to that person how much their existence impacted on them. (and shoto also said something similar about izuku being he’s hero) And izuku calling ochako hero there make total sense, why? because she was struggling because she didn’t save himiko, that’s way he said that ochako was he’s hero, because even tho he couldn’t say that she was himiko’s hero deku needed to show her that she is important as a person, not as a friend, not as a lover, as a hero.
and i love this part because shows a lot about uraraka’s development! and i will also say the importance of him calling her by hero and not heroine, as her japanese VA said, uraraka is a hero so she is a woman that goes there and worked for her own things as a HERO, she recived and sacrificed herself for that work, if hori used heroine so this would make them being implied because heroine is the love interest, the girl who is a hero but is always saved, and kidnapped, and used as a weapon of torture, to disturb the hero
and who recived that cargo? katsuki.
now the hand hold, this is way more symbolic because it’s like a izuku’s thing and iz//chas used that as the biggest reason just because the hand hold has more history with bkdk than with anyone else 💀, but in mha holding a hand is to support someone or/and asking if they are by someone’s side, just because someone hold the others hand this doesn’t imply nothing and i say that for bkdk too! Iida, kirishima, ochako, aoyama, tenko, all of them had their holding hand, kiri with katsuki and the rest with izuku and this just shows the importance of the “hold hands”
but why this is important for bkdk? because katsuki rejected. Again this doesn’t mean that they are a romantic pair! BUT ITS MORE SPECIAL BECAUSE ITS THEM. the thing is the whole bkdk development was around that fucking river scene with the no hold hand, so the importance of this to bkdk is to show their development and their relationship, but not to say like omg they are canon, if was just because of this so half of mha would be canon. And the problem is that iz//chas misunderstood that and made this as the final point, but there was just two friends talking about how ochako was sad because of himiko (who i dare say had more impact in ochako’s life than deku did, because she showed to uraraka her importance and made uraraka understand more the villans and watch them with another eyes)
and obviously the reaching for izuku’s hand is one of the biggest reasons why the hold hand with bkdk is important in another level, this represents katsuki accepting izuku and he’s friendship, it’s when he decided to be different, to be better and be with izuku for the rest of their lives
second:
i’ll be sincere to you, i also missed a scene with a bkdk talk. But i do not agree when u said that izu//ocha had the best conclusion, because mha is about izuku and katsuki. The manga started with them and ended with them (and all might). Platonic, romantic, whatever they are, they had the best conclusion because the show revolves around them, without one there would not have the other.
All katsuki’s development was around izuku and he’s relationship with izuku, everything he did was to izuku or for izuku, he grow up, he died, he cried, he trusted, he changed because he understood through his relationship with Izuku.
And izuku didn’t have to acknowledge anything because he already trusted katsuki even from the beginning and izuku called katsuki he’s hero a long time ago, AND izuku saw katsuki crying because he lost he’s quirk so he knows.
they know eachother more than themselves so has no need to do such things.
third:
izu//cha was not implied at all in the final, they didn’t even talked in the time skip, while bkdk talked before and after so, has nothing implied there is actually about iz//cha
but kacchan spending years saving money with their classmates and all might (with him being the heart of it) and working harder everyday so izuku and him could be heroes together for the rest of their lives? oh this is a romantic thing to talk about
and he finally reaching his hand back? i dare say CINEMA

Dream Theory (or my attempt at coming to terms with MHA ending).
I’ve seen people kind of talk about the last few chapters not being real. And I know that this likely isn’t the case, but god damn, I need something to latch onto.
Part One: the basis for the theory
This Twitter user (@zetanellk) posted a since deleted Jump interview where one of the (main) editors of the publication say that they (Jump as a whole) can’t force Hori to stay.
(image from the aforementioned twitter user above).
Now, I wanted to delve deeper into this in several different ways.
While, I can’t find anything on Yuta Momiyama (the new Jump head). He does seem more keen on ushering in a new era of manga - understandable but could be an indication that Hori was rushed in some way.
And I can’t put an exact date on when Yuta Momiyama took over from the previous person, but it seems to be around mid-June. We got the announcement that MHA was ending around the end of June.
In the interview they talk about how long they’ve been extending it, and if I’m not misunderstanding it sounds like they gave him a two year cap to get everything done. Or maybe Hori just felt like two years was enough.
Overall, without factoring in Hori’s health or if he’s burned out, the basis of this theory is that he was either rushed, censored, or just wanted to leave Jump for one reason or another. And by rushing the end of his story and leaving it wide open, it means he can go back to it later (and hopefully retcon some things).
-x-x-x-
Part Two: The Vestige Realm
When talking about “dream” or “delusion” theory, it’s hard to pinpoint when the dream or delusion starts. Some people point to the last chapter being somewhat fake, others say Izuku never left the vestige realm. And me? I’m inclined to believe the latter.
What do we know about the Vestige Realm?
It’s a place that exists within the quirks of One for All and All for One.
Any quirk factors that are stolen by All for One, or stockpiled by One for All, exist within the realm.
The aforementioned quirk factors exist as an extension of what their past users were. By which I mean, the quirk factors are no more than a part of who the real version of them were (e.g vestige Yoichi is not the exact same person as the Yoichi AFO killed).
Now, what do we know about the Vestige Realm around 417 (otherwise known as the chapter where things took a nosedive)?
Izuku is affected by things in Tenko’s mindscape.
In fact, Nana’s exact words are:
This comes after Izuku is almost Isekaied by a truck. He manages to get away, but it sets the tone that it’s hard to differentiate between the real world and the vestige world. It is demonstrated again when Izuku gets his arms decayed and that transfers over to the real world.
-x-x-x-
Part Three: I wanna Save that Little Boy!
Hori, in general, is a good writer. He’s good at being consistent….until he wasn’t.
Throughout the manga, at least from 305-onwards, it’s been hammered in that Izuku wants to save Tenko. Most people are framing the fact that he didn’t as “he saved his soul.” Which doesn’t count. At all.
I will never blame Izuku for the hot mess that is Tenko’s ending, and I refuse to believe that “saving his soul” is actually the message that Hori meant to send. I’ve also heard that it has something to do with different cultural aspects about death, so I apologize if that’s all it is.
So, cultural differences aside, Izuku failing to save Tenko (again, through no fault of his own) physically is not what Hori hinted at.
We, as an audience, didn’t need to see Izuku fail at the last possible second. Sure, he’s saved people (Eri and Kota being the main ones), but he’s also lost (his body being broken to hell and back while fighting Muscular at the summer camp. Losing the sports festival - on purpose, but he still lost.)
-x-x-x-
Part Four: Joki-Joki boy
I can’t tell you how unspeakably angry this character made me. While I’m happy that he got saved, I honestly don’t think he should exist. And I honestly don’t think he does exist (put a pin in that).
Everything about this character screams TENKO. Everything from his hair to his feet matched what we know about Tomura or an older Tenko.
We see this character in 429 getting saved, and then again in 430 as a U.A. student (8 years later). In no way does this look like a 6 to 8 year old boy!
But, like I said, I don’t think he’s real.
We get a narration from in chapter 429, but that - like everything else - can be excused by Izuku projecting.
I’m going to come back to this character!
-x-x-x-
Part Five: Where did it all go wrong?
I propose it all went wrong the moment AFO showed up, and more specifically somewhere in the first three panels of this page.
Or maybe even this one:
Izuku is thrown into a void twice. The first time, he watches AFO’s memories. Among these memories is an explanation about Tenko’s (given) quirk. It’s said that decay is an offshoot of Overhaul’s quirk, which means at one time or another there existed a restoration quirk along with decay. And in the second, he’s taken back to the “real” world. What follows is a little insane.
-x-x-x-
Part Six: Where the delusion/dream starts
Izuku makes it back to the real world, and things go fairly quickly.
He loses his arms as per Nana’s earlier words about being affected in the vestige world.
AFO goes in for the kill (assuming), and Izuku’s friends show up just in time.
Aizawa shows up with Eri’s horn in hand to fix Izuku’s arms.
More of his friends show up, including Bakugo (even though this entire ordeal took place across Japan. And he didn’t use Kurogiri’s portal like everyone else), and they helped him fight AFO pt.3.
The US president who, up until that point, had been content with not helping Japan, sends all their heroes.
AFO seems to be too powerful to be defeated, but wait! The vestiges were apparently not destroyed and Tomura is there with them too. And the reason that Tomura is there is because Nana put him back together (something that sounds important but is never brought up again).
So, Tomura and Izuku punch AFO - swapping blood btw - they exchange a few words, and Tenko dies.
By the next chapter (424) three days have passed, and Izuku’s in the hospital.
Neither of Izuku’s parents visit him (on screen), and while I am upset about Hisashi not being revealed, it is weird not to have Inko there. I mean, she visited him last time.
Dabi’s conclusion is rather dark (literally!) and all the villains seem to be set up for Tenko coming back with restoration.
Part Seven: What do I think happened?
Somewhere between page 3 and page 9 of 419, something went wrong.
Maybe it was AFO, or Izuku’s own subconscious being stubborn and unwilling to leave Tenko behind.
After that point of being thrown back into the real world, it feels like the narrative is punishing Izuku. Almost like he’s punishing himself. He can’t move on without being able to “save that little boy.”
I think that, while he’s stuck in the realm, Izuku is creating a reality that makes sense to him. An argument against this is that other characters, that Izuku shouldn’t know, are shown (like Koichi). But that could easily be retconned later on, or have another explanation.
Which would explain why everything feels so shallow. Izuku is good at empathizing with people, but post-war he’s like a robot (mostly due to trauma and not wanting to burden people) and that translates to how others act around him. Uraraka cries in 429, but that’s (could be) another reflection of Izuku's feelings.
He’s bottled all these emotions up, so the only way for him to find catharsis is to imagine one of his friend’s crying (one of his friends that shared a common goal with him. It would make it easier to imagine that she lost too, that he isn’t alone in being a failure). He tears up a little, but before he can actually cry all of class a shows up. Almost like he’s avoiding something…..
This happens also in chapter 424 with Bakugo and All Might, and it’s a cute scene. As long as you ignore how guilty Izuku’s looks, or how hollow All Might’s words feel.
So, he’s trapped in the vestige realm for one reason or another, and besides projecting his feelings on other people, he also begins to create new people.
Joki-joki boy.
People analyzed him every which way. And it’s almost cruel how much he looks like Tenko. His hair is the same texture and color (unless it’s changed in the anime). His narration even refers to his family that physically abused, tortured, and neglected him. And while Tenko’s living situation wasn’t nearly as bad (at the start), it would make sense that Izuku created another Tenko (Tenko 2.0, if you would) to then also create an ideal situation where Tenko 2.0 is saved. He then gets to conveniently be in sight when the boy is saved (by the same woman that turned the real Tenko away the first time).
I also think that, on top of being stuck, Izuku’s and Tenko’s (I have no idea if he’s stuck as well) memories are still linked. So, while Izuku wouldn’t recognize her, Tenko would. And maybe a part of him is trying to communicate with Izuku? Trying to tell him what he wants (to be saved)?
-x-x-x-
Conclusion:
I know a lot of this is just me coping. I know that MHA (for now) is done, and that this theory is somewhat in the fanfic territory. But I need some hope. I'll continue to write fanfiction after I'm done mourning what could have been.
I might make another post eventually going through every single thing that feels “off” about the ending.
Hope everyone is enjoying or coping with the ending <3

There is still no official translation but I’m interested in AFO's words about Izuku. AFO is surprised that all the heroes present continue fighting even when their forces are diminished, literally AFO says he can't believe that these corpses keep moving, he doesn't understand the shine in their eyes and this is where it gets interesting because AFO calls "weakness" to the strength that Midoriya exudes and that All Might lacked.
This goes perfectly with the construction of Izuku as a character because we know from the start that his character is making his own path as a hero, that he isn’t simply an AM 2.0, but a different hero, obviously throughout the manga especially because of the gratitude he feels for Toshinori, Izuku wants to become the worthy successor but fails, his first failure was at the sports festival where AM told him to take advantage of the moment to tell the world "I am here" because at the end, Izuku decides to focus on Shouto, and it’s interesting that the first time he actually uses AM's phrase is with Tenko (if I'm wrong, correct me because I don't remember him having used this phrase with anyone else at least in the manga), and in a context of consolation, where Izuku was looking to get closer to Tenko. But going back to AFO's phrase, I think it's interesting that he talks about this characteristic about Izuku and suggests that until he falls, the people around him will continue fighting, no matter how tired they are. I like how this difference is raised with AM because it’s true, AM made people feel safe but also inactive, the people he saved and the society that was built with him as a symbol was passive and apathetic. On the other hand Izuku presents that many of the people he saved chose to become active on their own, Kota distracting Muscular when Izuku almost fainted, Eri deciding to get away from Chisaki and throw herself into his arms, Gentle and his decision of the new opportunity that was presented to him, Lady Nagant and her decision to support Izuku with the strength she had left, including Rody taking an active role in the third movie and being the one who helps save the world, none of the people to whom Izuku help remains a passive actor, people around Izuku find in him the strength to continue fighting, this said by Mineta or Nagant when She referred to the fact that there was something in his eyes that made her want to keep going.
I would like to see how Horikoshi can develop this in the next chapters, I really need introspection and to listen to Izuku's thoughts again because so far we don't know what he’s thinking and it is a bit annoying. Also, this still means that there is a lot left to do with Tenko/Tomura because as I said, the people Izuku saves help themselves and aren’t passive actors in their rescues, it’s the decisions they make that allow them to save themselves.

BNHA Ch. 416 Thoughts
spoilers below
Izuku looks so feral here. Let's fucking go.
YES. I'm glad rewind isn't just going to be used as an easy out
(sidenote: Ectoplasm's lines being in katakana kept throwing me off at first)
When Eri-chan cries, I cry 😭
Kota calling Izuku, "Midoriya-niichan" 😭
Kota comforting Eri-chan 😭 (him doing this by saying he knows because he's a crybaby too made me laugh though)
Hello, civilian dude...what is your role in this plot? (and where did those undercover AFO underlings go?)
Yaomomo and Kaminari. WTF ARE WE REALLY NOT GONNA SEE ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY WERE FIGHTING?? AND MONOMA
Fukidashi's face isn't a speech bubble...he exhausted his quirk 😢
Denki talking about comics and comparing himself and Kirishima to side characters. My heart 💔
Getting a little meta here, pointing out how things usually go down in the shonen genre. Yeah, Yaomomo probably has better things to read since the shonen genre doesn't respect women.
Denki being afraid that his worrying means that he doesn't believe in Izuku. It's okay Denki, we're subverting the usual tropes here, don't worry
Tsuyu crying while she watches Ochako being taken away on the helicopter
OMG, reporter person. Good that you're helping her, but her name is URAVITY
WAIT, WHERE IS TOGA?????
Wait...was Tsuyu even there? The last time we saw her, it was actually a clone, wasn't it? 🤔
Wait...who's sitting next to Ochako? dying for HD scans over here
Hawks remembering Uraraka's speech and calling her by her hero name. (Also, with the way he was lying on the ground, I thought Hawks was All Might at first glance until I saw Tokoyami and Machia)
Lady Nagant & Rock Lock's conversation...I think it's important that she wants to believe in Izuku because unlike him, she lost hope and could only see one way out of being part of the corrupt system.
I have been waiting forever for this - Izuku seeing Tenko's past and the house where everything started.
Tomura mirroring his father in his final moments...oh boy.
That last panel...Izuku's in his school uniform. 🤔

• he's writing in his diary ??? he's wearing a tie correctly??? "deku - SENSEI ??" , i mean realistically this probably was the best option out there for him after losing ofa and don't get me wrong teaching FITS deku so well and the line about "now it's my turn to give other people's dreams " is so sweet (also could totally imagine him awkwardly trying to discipline his class lmao - )
but low-key been holding out for a quirkless tech supported hero deku ?? and the fact that even Dai basically says that the profession still only favours the kids born with the strongest power- seems like society it hasn't rly changed that much (nvm wrote this like 5 minutes before I saw the last panel)
• in the same vein , why tf is the popularity rankings still a thing ?? Like isn't that one of the biggest problems of hero society ( cough cough endeavour ) , I mean like I suppose popularity is important to give hope to civilians , but I feel like they shouldn't atleast modified it ?? Also aizawa showing deku the video of bakugo getting cancelled is so funny to me like sir why you tryna stir the pot here-
• LOVING ochako and shoji doing change for toga and spinner & the heteromorphs rally , THIS is what I wanted to see
• so happy that momo's new costume is not sexualised finally girl got the coverage!! , (and that fact that her and jiro has matching headphones now )
• also grown up eri , looking happy with her friends holding musical instruments 🥺 jiro taught her how to play - + kota being in UA
• todoroki making a name for himself outside of endeavour - the todoroki family remains one of the best storylines in bnha
• and wait oh ??? All might and bakugo comes with a present ?? QUIRKLESS SUPPORT TECH DEKU !!! I win ( literally scratch my first point )
• aghgh no bkdk hand hold but honestly this is better EDIT * implied hand hold , that fact that bakugo is reaching out and not letting him get left behind is actually BEAUTIFUL thanks I'll be thinking about this for a couple hours-
• also I thought that they were gonna pull a fairy tail and have the villains come back reincarnated but so glad atleast for the tenko panel
Overall Its a sweet ending !! Thank you Horikoshi for this 6 year long (and probably 6 years to come) hyperfixation

bakugou izuku + cousin kota + midoriya shouto + midoriya tenko + midoriya yo + shadow twins = inko is hoarding all the children as fast as she possibly can (have i forgotten any?)
+ save eri speed run = inko is so proud her kids are following in her footsteps and have already begun adopting
I think that's all of the Inko Child Hoarding
I do find it funny you included Bakugou Izuku as it means that Mitsuki and Masaru are also spoiling all these kids

Okay so the last post wasn't my last BNHA one for the time being but I wanted to expand on this one (how I think Midoriya Izuku: Rising would go), 'cause I kept thinking "how would the buildup to it even go" and I wanted to share!
Also, I'll alternate between Tenko and Tomura a lot in this post, I apologize for it.
So, with that in mind, spoilers for the manga, up until Chapter 417, ahead!
Okay, so the vestige world is going back in time for Izuku and Tomura; and it has currently rewinded to their origins- Izuku, as at least a part of his origins (as you could make a case he was already on his way since the Quirkless diagnosis, while the Sludge Villain incident was a checkpoint). As such, it's likely Izuku will rewind the closer he gets to Shimura family death.
So, based on previous encounters, Tomura would need to be shown a commonality between him and Izuku (being underestimated, told it's impossible for them to be heroes) or the extent he's willing to go to save a person (Lady Nagant, Eri, Kota, Katsuki). With that in mind, I don't know if Izuku would be willing to think about the last one, because of the worms inside that can.
It's a little tiring to hear the same thing, but that "control your heart" thing is indeed very important for Izuku- because how do you connect to someone like Tomura- who has (mostly) lost hope for help if you keep repressing the feeling he'd also connect with? Can anyone recall the last time we've seen, unambiguously, Izuku's thoughts?
This, is where Izuku's repression problem comes in- the first and last setback of his: "Not all men are created equal"; he is the central representation of the matter... and so are the two people involved in this narrative:
Izuku wasn't created equal to most characters, despite BNHA's house of mirrors game: no relation to heroes, no Quirk, no one to encourage him to become one through other means, no self-worth- He's like a lot of characters, but no character is like him, period, least of all Tenko or Katsuki.
Tenko wasn't created equal to Izuku because his relation to Nana (a hero) is what caused Kotaro's resentment to resurface, and Tomura's faith in heroes was shattered because the one who "cared" for him was AFO, who groomed him to be a vessel. We don't even know yet if Decay was his all along or not!
Katsuki wasn't created equal to Izuku because he was thought strong by his Quirk, and too much encouragement caused confidence to become arrogance. He grew up with love, yes, but what was expected of him (to be an arrogant hero? Izuku's closest person? An extra character?) could've been the reason he would have died.
So, they all foil each other in some way, shape or form- but the main contrast between Izuku, and Katsuki and Tomura: he hides one emotion he should be allowed to feel since chapter 1: Unbridled rage. Even in situations he'd be justified, do we see him lose it like in chapter 82-83, 210, 285 and just barely 367?
With all of that information, let's return to Chapter 417; the most recent one as of now.
We know Izuku's priorities- others before himself, even at the cost of his safety. A suicidal recklessness, especially when it comes to kids-Kota and Eri come to mind, Katsuma and Mahoro as well. The panel of him jumping in to reach for Tenko while Nana confronts Kotaro is the best representation of it. So it wouldn't be surprising if he'd stick by Tenko's side during the first Decay (assuming it's Tomura's memory and not the actual person). He's always been like that, the Quirkless teen who just wanted to help people like All Might once did.
Tomura would most likely falter on his resolve, after all, no one helped him in the aftermath of the Shimura tragedy, while Izuku just saw a kid in need and decided to protect him. But I can also see this is where Izuku would lose it as well.
This is where, I think, the memory merging would come in. Tomura reminiscing on the misery that is his life, and Izuku finally losing it once he realized he and Tomura are similar, with all of his rage finally coming loose... But also that he can use that to connect to him, using the embers of OFA he can feel. Not all, but just enough. Dark Deku returns, his feelings of inadequacy, of not belonging anywhere.
Because Izuku knows that feeling of unfairness, of knowing people don't believe in his dreams. But he knows anyone can make a difference, he needs to see how much he already did, just by being the one willing to give a hand for those who needed it. He needs to know where his origin really begins- not when All Might decided to be his mentor, but when he was the first who stepped up to help when it mattered, the sludge villain incident.
For someone who would've fit with the League, had the wrong right cards been dealt for him.
This would be where Tenko would probably cease, at least enough to hear Izuku out. Still as kids, they would probably fight until Izuku breaks through, until both collapse in exhaustion in the vestige world- not only from the fight, but from their emotional state. Just two kids who are tired.
Who, by all accounts, should've been like Tomura, right?
Weren't heroes and villains the same, after all?
The outside world holds their breath, for there is no movement yet. But all beg Izuku to do his best.
Nothing can erase their pasts, but Izuku doesn't want to focus on that. He needs to accept it's a part of him. So does Tomura.
And just as they finally come to an understanding, and Izuku lends a hand- a promise the future can be better despite everything, Tenko is snatched again by a plethora of forceful grips. AFO's trump card is activated- something that tries to break Tenko and possess Tomura again. Izuku tries pulling him out of it, but is slowly consumed as well. In this moment, they grow back to their current ages, while Izuku can barely move. He has no strength, no Quirks, no help, and he'll die then and there.
But.
The vestiges are conscious enough to rebel against AFO, like before. One more time. Maybe for the last time?
Izuku is still connected to One For All.
And he's not the only one.
Maybe this is the last time One For All will exist. But if All For One is defeated, if Tomura is saved, it's worth it at any costs.
The vestiges find their way back to Izuku, trying to pull him out, while he holds on to Tomura, who's terrified of being taken control of once again. They lack the same strength of the Quirk, but still make enough of a difference. Yet, it's not enough.
Until the two hands of a UA student appear beside him.
If their feelings are one, then Izuku knows who it is, and feels something new, worrying, regretful and afraid, but surprisingly for Izuku, he's kind, fully trusting. Vestige or not, that weakness needs to become his strength, just like before, then. So, Izuku channels that part of him, the one he’s ashamed of, and turns into something he’s proud of.
That voice says one thing: Do your best.
And therefore, his strength, complemented by the missing piece of Katsuki’s vestige, ends up being the turning point.
Izuku rips Tomura out of All For One’s grip, in the vestige world and the real world— an explosion; the shape of a star just like the one moments before. The cocoon is destroyed, the hands are shattered and falling from the sky. Tomura is unconscious, but his grip doesn’t decay Izuku at all.
In that moment, the world cheers, as Izuku gets up, a scarred right fist in the air just like his idol. The fight was won, and Tomura was defeated., No, he was saved. Japan was saved. The world was saved.
Deku, Midoriya Izuku rises, and becomes the world’s greatest hero.
#gentlefolk. I don't know at which point this essentially became a fanfic draft but I don't regret writing it#I can't say this is a theory or speculation cause it fits neither and I'm probably wrong about all of this.#And you know what I'm okay with it! I just wanted to share it#spider.posts#spider.writes#or something idk. qualifies as draft tho XD#Boku No Hero Academia#BNHA Spoilers#MHA Spoilers#Midoriya Izuku#Bakugou Katsuki#Shigaraki Tomura#Okay for now I'm satisfied. If you've read it this far thank you so much for reading! o/#also I forgot to mention but part of what I was trying to say is a callback to Ch. 076#AKA the one in which he fucks up his arms trying to save Kota and defeat Muscular#iykyk#long post
