seeing a speedrun of botw all dungeons and even like that .... its so strange how soulless totk feels to me when botw didnt, allthough it feels much flatter to me now since i know there wasnt any thought put into the things i thought were meaningful and that it will go nowhere in the end

and yet still it feels like its got soul that totk just hasnt; botw is far from perfect, like everything really, but totk to me really feels like a clunky grind game with no trust in the player at all, be it puzzles or 'story', and a fundamental missunderstanding of why botws world design and structure worked well as a whole in the end

i honestly still cant quite understand how on earth botw got totk as its 'sequel', all the things that needed work in botw where neglected or made worse totk while it also failed to follow up on literally anything in a meaningful way- when i still think the changes it needed where so OBVIOUS and the directions to follow up and expand on things to enhance not just the sequel but also botw in retrospect where so plenty and ready for the taking, it hurts me still even to think about it not being done and everything really being actively thrown away for NOTHING or things that make it AND botw WORSE in retrospect instead

i wont ever be able to forgive that, and some part of me hopes that this is the worst that they will ever do so at least we will get better games again in the future

I love the comedy of an Aeducan who helped Bhelen become king because he's also an Aeducan refusing to think of Alistair as a valid option for Ferelden's throne in spite of him being a Theirin. Very little that your deeply held belief in the divine right of kings or whatever can do against watching a grown ass man losing an argument to a dog (over the dog's food)

funny enough, I think this scene was the closest the show ever got to realizing the actual point of the Dance.

the throne, was it worth it? it's too late, blood has spilled and the dragons danced and your brother is burnt half to death. peace is long since past but you must see this horrible, bloody thing to its unsatisfying end while you can do nothing more than fight and rue and pray. it was all for a crown, but was it worth it? when the price you pay is everything and everyone and nobody even wins, was it worth it?

miss me with that "only people who don't want a crown deserve one" and "the horrors I have loosed can't just be for a crown blah blah" boooorrrriiiinnngggg. the Dance was about two factions who were SO intent on their own power and SO adamant in their superiority that they ultimately became their demise. almost every character met a horrible fate, even the ones who survived the war! it's a tragedy of epic proportions and everybody's miserable and it can't even be blamed on any one person or death or catalyst. it was so deliciously, horribly unavoidable because targaryens, like their valyrian ancestors before them, cannot stop bringing about their own doom!

the worst part of mostly making up your own fanon is that if something doesn't exist you just have to make it up yourself.

small update! much less sick now, fully on the mend. the comic's literally 3/4 done but I will not be posting it (along with all the other s&co stuff Ive been doodling) this week, in accordance with the global strike.
