Rook

oh rip whoever harmed you. Rook will hunt them down and there shall be no escape. I hope they have their affairs in order.

"mon cher what happened!" the blonde rushed to where you were shaking, high in the branches of a tree. "did something frighten you Trickster?"

you offered the young man a pitiful meow, one that warbled at the end. Rook flinched, worry etching into his features. he knew that cry, it held pain.

"shh now my dear trickster I shall be your night in shinning armor~" he cooed as he made quick work of ascending the tree.

Rook pulled himself up to the brach you were hidden on, gently reaching out and taking your shivering form into his arms. you cried out again, and he saw the source of your distress.

your back leg was bend and bleeding, the fur matted and dirtied. Rook held you securely in his arms as he carefully moved the limb to fully survey the damage.

"oh ma cherie, who did this to you?" he cooed softly, stroking your ears to calm your whimpers. you blinked up at him, half heartedly offering his glove a lick of affection.

Rook leaned his head down, nuzzling your fur gently.

"you poor creature. lets get you to the nurse and clean up that nasty leg. I'll handle the rest, promis."

Jade

he had been worried something like this might happen. however while he was distracting putting distance between you and Floyd another mishap accrued.

a call of your name was met with a strained meow. only moments later a head of green hair and a pair of mismatched eyes found you.

Jade observed where you had curled yourself away, tucked into a hallowed tree trunk surrounded by moss and fungus. he tapped at the moss by his knee, trying to coax you from your hiding place.

your small body shook, frozen in place. letting out a sigh, the merman instead reached his hand into the tree trunk, grabbing you by the scruff.

as he started to drag you out you released a pained shout, attempting to scramble away. Jade was far to strong for your small form, easily pulling you out and into the evening air.

"now why did you crawl in there?" he wondered, holding you still and observing you. it was then he witnessed the blood on your face. one of your eyes was closed, the fur around it caked in dried blood.

he let out a slight gasp, scooping you up and standing to his feet.

"oh dear," Jade took quick and long strides, leading you both out of the forest and back towards the school. he maintained his cool and calm appearance, letting you whimper and cry into his arms.

in reality though, Jade was greatly worried. sustaining such harm when not in your human form could offer you some very severe consequences once you are turned back again.

he pushed the worries away, deciding he would face them when needed. right now he needed to get you the medical care before he jumped to any conclusions.

Floyd

but... he promised? Floyd promised he's protect you. that you'd be okay. so... you'd be fine! you've have to be fine. he'll protect you.

"SHRIMPY!" Floyd screeched at the top of his lungs. the black carriage barreled towards you at top speed and you cried for the merman.

you tried to doge the oncoming wheels but Floyd was to far and you were to slow. you let out a horrible wheezing squeak noise as the wheel made contact with your shoulder, rolling over your back and making a crack sound once it met your spine.

the carriage continued its plummet towards doom as you lay on the ground, unmoving.

"SHRIMPY NO!" Floyd cried, finally making it to your side. he had thought going outside with you would be fun. you're so small and cute in this form he wanted to show you the stables.

he thought it would be fun.

he isn't having fun anymore.

your nickname was abandoned, now instead Floyd called your actual name, his voice shaking with each syllable. his hands shook as he reached down to the feline.

he paused just before he made contact with your fur, remembering that he can't move your spine if its been broken or you could die.

he whimpered your name once more, sniffling as he tried to blink back his tears. Floyd looked around frantically for something to move you onto so you could lay flat. ripping a large piece of bark from a tree he returned to your side.

Floyd's whole body shook as he carried you back to the infirmary. he didn't speak for days afterword. not in class, not for work, not even to Jade. Floyd was completely silent.
