hey, i saw your post about frustrations with family and i hope this isn't weird/unwanted, and you dont need to answer this or anything, but i just wanted to say that i really resonated with it as someone who has to constantly be the glue in my fam as the eldest sibling with the expectations that i understand both "sides" between my parents and siblings enough to mediate. youre not alone in how you feel and i am sincerelywishing the best for you!!!

i have thought about it in passing and it hurts my heart....frankly i think marius, once hes old enough to understand what happened (and also old enough to be blamed for what happened) (which...wasnt very old at all, he was still a child) takes it hardest. of course, giann and austin grieve, but i like to think that because theyre older (and thus more mature and capable of compartmentalizing) that their grief for carenina is separate from their joy of having marius in their lives. it wasnt a "deal" or a "trade" in their minds and in their hearts.

for marius though, it is. he sees the beginning of his very existence inherently tied to the death of his mother. he sees his existence as a sick "trade" by the universe; lose someone you love and gain a child thats a burden and a reminder of who you lost. hes much harder on himself, and i think thats partly because he never got to meet his mother, so he didnt get to experience how excited she was for his birth, he didnt get to experience first hand how much he was loved by her even before he was born. giann and austin got to experience this, and, even with all the bumps in the road, they continue this love for marius. in a way, it's a form of remembrance too. but marius had it different. what he knew was once upon a time there was a perfect family, and then he came along, and grief loomed over them like a shadow theyll never be rid of. marius feels like he was a thief. marius feels like he stole life of his mother.

semi-related: i actually have an hc that marius' mother did not die during childbirth (and thus not on marius' birthday), because canon never confirmed that it was during. instead, canon just said that the strain of giving birth was too much for her deteriorating health, so it's not without the realm of possibility that carenina lived for a few months after childbirth before passing away.

why i have this hc is because:

1 ) i hc she was the one who gave the nickname "king". she'd whisper it to him delightedly, boop his little nose and tease him for being a pampered little baby, calling him "my little king" as she cared for him in her last days.

2 ) i just want carenina to have met marius, even if marius cant ever remember it. i just think it would be nice, and that it would be fitting. one of the last moments she had was cradling her beloved son in her arms, and she was at peace when she went

she was full of love and had no regrets. to her, this wasnt a "trade" either. this was her choice, and she was glad to have made that choice.

but of course, marius cant remember the experience, and he thinks otherwise. to him, being born was his first sin among many.

personally, i think it would be a very complicated relationship. the hollowheads in my headcanon are all very tense and awkward with each other at first but they all eventually learn how to open up to one another and learn how to genuinely care for each other (such as sibling relationships goes), but that doesnt mean they are free from holding some sort of grudge and burden; especially for second and victim.

at first, second and dark would be very indifferent and tolerant when it came to each other, but the grudge is still there. second making passive-aggressive remarks about dark within their ear shot, and dark being sarcastic and even guilt tripping second for what they did. i agree that sec sees dark as someone who did nothing but terrorize them- even killed their friends at some point, and dark only remembering that sec killed them so they always keep their defenses up. but seeing how sec can be gracious when it came to forgiving past villains, theyll eventually manage to get past all of dark's actions, but never forget them. dark is the fun older sibling for second and that counts for something i guess.

for second and victim, well, of course at the start they were also tense considering the events that happened, but i think sec would learn to forgive victim faster than with dark since they werent really her primary concern during the events of wanted and the box. sure, she bunkered sec and the others down at first but that was just to eliminate who would get in the way of her plans. sure, she hunted the animator down and did everything to get back at him, but those feelings were between her and the animator, so second doesnt really have a say on that either. i think that despite everything, second eventually grows to care for their older sister because they would understand where those actions came from. dare i say second is actually the closest to victim. they like her a lot, theyre the true two peas in a pod for me.

YAYYYY THANKS FOR ASKING its autism time Basically um. You know how most the watcher!grian hcs/interpretations have him as an unwilling participant in all this ? Uh, yeah ! Not this grian:3 Well. Kinda. But. Im a TMA Fan and I love FUCKED UP guys so !!!! Watchers feed off emotions. All emotions, but they're especially known for finding fear or grief or other negative emotions the most nutritionally filling/benefital to their health. However: They can't just sit there around someone whos very happy, sad, angry, ect, and then get fed from that. They have to- uh, for lack of better word- latch onto a players "soul," and tear chunks of that from them, dig into their mind and bite into whatever makes them feel and then tear that away. Sometimes, a feeding will cause the victim to be unable to feel anything at all after the feeding, if a Watcher gorges themself solely on them. Most often, when they use restraint while feeding, the victim will loose all feelings they'd had about the previous days, weeks, or even months, and might feel like everythings "dulled down" for some time while they recover. (Younger Watchers usually have to have physical contact with the victim to feed, older or more powerful Watchers can feed without even being on the same plane of existence as their victim, only needing to be able to See them.) Now, that's all kind of similar to a lot of headcanons about Watchers already, and I pulled the "eating emotions" thing from Martyns Eyes & Ears AU (altho in that its JUST fear), but uh... Heres where it differs: The Watchers aren't sentient. Not really, anyway. They're...predators, beings that know they need to feed and will go to great lengths to do so, survival their greatest worry above all else. Think of them like... Smart animals. Corvids, for example, crows especially- they will investigate their own dead to figure out what killed the other bird so they can avoid it, and are extremely good puzzle solvers. Prairie dogs have an incredibly advanced verbal communication system- able to even denote the speed of which a predator is approaching their den (probably the closest we could get to an ""language"" in the animal kingdom). But neither of those animals, as smart as they may be, are considered sentient. Its the same with Watchers. Watchers CAN communicate, they can understand eachother, they can achieve a certain amount of planning, like how squirrels can count what nuts they have & deduce how many they need, or how whales and other marine life are especially prone to being able to plan & use logical reasoning... They can understand the concept of death and... the concept of keeping their food alive for delayed gratification and a continued food source, instead of just going out and feeding on someone until theyre a husk of themselves, unable to provide more food. How, exactly, they got all the players into the life series/how they made the games IS something im working on, but the point im getting at here is that theyre basically like ants farming aphids, except the aphids are sentient people..? yay..? Ah, and Watcher cant reproduce normally. They have incredibly long lifespans, but when a Watcher does come to its end, they... Well, theyll find an player to bite into the soul of, and instead of feeding, they basically do the reverse- shoving all their energy into that being and becoming a parasite that will eventually take over the host and make them a Watcher, similarly without much sentience. Thats what happens to Grian. :3 The exact process of turning is also in the works but basically it starts by becoming unable to eat regular food, slowly focusing all the players willpower into wanting to eat, before they develop the ability to feed from other players. At this stage they might still be able to feel themself, however after feeding from another you tend to loose your own emotions amongst the ones youre feeding off of, and at some point, any remaining emotions the "player" has, is consumed by them for extra nutrition, and in turn they officially become a Watcher.

you get a card and pamphlet thing in the mail when you turn 18 and are eligible to vote explaining how it works (with that in mind, its very easy to just not register - i think my cousin went 5+ years or so not doing that, maybe hes still not registered idk) (its also only a $50 fine if you are registered but dont vote)

and all the elections are on a saturday and most people will get that day off depending on your job of course - theyre in places like primary schools and town halls and stuff so theyre easy to get to

and like. if for whatever reason you cant make it or get to a voting centre or whatever theres like. you can do it over the phone and theyll have someone (electoral official) go through all of the options for you, or you can do a mail vote or an early vote at an early voting centre. and theres like. interstate voting centres if you cant make it back to your state (one time there was an afl game in VIC against a QLD team and they sent abunch of QLD ballots down - the game was against goldcoast and they were always gonna loose so barely any people ended from QLD ended up showing up and they had a bunch of spare lol)

the ballots are easy as well - u just have to number them in order of preference or draw a dick and then your votes counted. you dont even have to vote either - you can just get your name crossed off then turn around and leave

if you get a good voting centre usually in an older suburb or rural area or usually any thats being hosted at a school then theres also a barbie and u can get democracy sausages 👍👍

ive never been able to understand how the american system seems to actively make it harder for people to vote - and then turn around and say that its the pinacle of democracy - like its not even compulsory to vote there!!

so i know that subs-de said that they wont do the eps that miraculousubs have already done, and this makes sense to a point, but pretty much all of the miraculousubs links are broken, and since they havent communicated in years, theres a high chance that theyll never get the links working again

ig my question is, does the subs-de team have direct communication w the miraculousubs team, and do you know if theyre ever gonna touch up their google sheet links? and if they dont seem to, will you ever consider doing those older episodes anyway, since miraculousubs doesnt actually have them available?

himself- hey is your icon a little spider i never noticed that. awesome. his sense of self is pretty... not unstable but unclear? he has always been a Thing as opposed to a person, and he doesnt really think about the things he does or thinks or feels etc. he is not good at self-reflection. its one of the things he starts to figure out as he finds a space for himself in the world

amber- his girlfranddd. they get along immediately when they meet and it doesnt take them long to start feeling out a relationship but for the both of them its a whole new experience (claire has never been in a relationship + amber has only had teenage relationships + hasnt had anything serious) and its pretty rocky, especially with both of them having so many fucking issues. he cares about her a lot and puts her on a bit of a pedestal at first- something that causes conflict for them (amongst other things). he admires and respects her a lot, and despite teh fact that its his first relationship hes certain he wants her to be a part of his life forever because she inspires him to be better and try harder- both in their relationship, his relationships with others, and as a person himself

len- len is ambers best friend and claire thinks shes the most annoying person in the world. exaggerating. they get along but she is very extroverted and loud and flashy and its a bit much for him at times haha. he thinks shes irresponsible and kind of stupid, but respects her because she is very loyal and caring, and is willing to acknowledge her failings and faults in order to do what needs to be done

honey (need to change their name)- he gets along with honey pretty well. theyre both quiet and not the type of person to start a conversation so if you put them in the same room theyll probably be pretty awkward but they have a lot in common, and he sees a lotof the struggles he has been through in them and so he has a soft spot for them

jake- i think they get along fine. as much as you can for "your girlfriends teenage brother". they dont really hang out if amber isnt there

ambers parents- claire loves. ambers parents. they dont show up too much in the story and most of him getting to know them would be post-canon but its a very close knit family and once they know him he is welcomed in to that family. they get along well

annie- umm. claire and annie were very close when they were children and then as they started to get older grew apart more and more until they hated each other. he wishes things could have been different and wants her to understand where hes coming from and listen to him so they can fix things. she doesnt. i could say a million billion things about how they feel about each other but it really boils down to the fact that theyre incredibly similar in a way that means they will never have a healthy relationship unless things were very different

magdalene- as much as he learns that she was a horrible person and hurt him in ways he will never recover from he still holds a sense of loyalty and reverence for her, even knowing he will do everything he can to never see her again

zack- similar to above... though he has an even deeper sense of guilt about killing him. but he is relieved he is gone

^these are all the important people. guy who never fleshes out his oc settings. i need a lot more characters to fill this out i just have not gotten to it...

his fav colour is red, he doesnt really have a favourite animal but i think he would like lizards especially geckos, and im not sure if i want to make blood type something thats like noticable tastewise haha, he typically isnt picky regardless.

my heart :(( drabble 33 was really intense but im glad they talked it out rather than walking away! i really want oc to believe him bc i honestly think hes telling the truth 🥲 hes being so vulnerable with her and it wouldnt hurt to show the same energy back especially when he put in trust in oc abt being on the pill and decided that her past wasnt his business. he was always so avoidant in the earlier drabbles when it came to his own past and him choosing to open up to oc abt mia after admitting that taehyung doesnt even know the full story and finally accepting his feelings for her in the other drabbles definitely shows that his relationship with oc is different from the other girls he has slept with and that hes more serious abt her. i really hope they both stick around so oc could show the same love back to him!

but i really do hope they talk to taehyung too ☹️ he clearly loves them both and its honestly the least they can do! it seems like he takes on the older brother role which is why hes so protective over oc and even jungkook hence why he wanted oc to be patient with him so i understand why oc and jungkook are so affected by his outburst :(( but at the time i dont think taehyung would actively try to ruin their relationship? i feel like it was definitely the heat of the moment but once they actually hear each other out then taehyung would realize the clear line between looking out for the people he loves and being controlling. im just babbling at this point bc my thoughts are a mess but i really hope it works out for the three of them! i was just talking abt how i loved seeing the friendship between taehyung and oc too in my other asks 🥲 maybe i jinxed it … oops

Sorry I took so long to respond to this. Every time I looked at it I was too indecisive to pick an oc to ramble about.

Anyway, I haven't done any art of them myself yet bc the stars haven't been right, but I've got approximations via picrews, so here's Eliah Hepsin

Unfortunately picrews tend to not have great options to make older looking people, and they're 57, so these are more like what they looked like younger than their exact current appearance but oh well. They've had basically the same haircut for decades bc its what they like and also it's Routine. It's closer to the second pic. Kind of a flat top with faded sides that they shave patterns into.

Anyway, in their canon story universe, they're a professor at a university and a renowned physics/chemistry/extraplanics researcher (extraplanics is the term I'm using rn for one of the planet's magic systems that's based on understanding and manipulating physics and chemistry through a person's connection to the magical energy plane). theyre a third generation immigrant whose family runs a designer rug and textile business.

They were married to a guy in their 20s for like a year and a half (immediately following "grad school" and after only dating for like 7 months) before they got divorced bc they both kinda realized they were better off as friends and also Roscoah (who may or may not be named after a really nice uber driver named rosco) wanted kids when they didnt. The two work at the same university now and get along well (as opposed to being Divorced TM)

they went through a pretty big period of self discovery after they got divorced, figured out they were nonbinary and autistic ("tevabra" being a colloquial term for autistic in-world. and im not as solidified on their culture's terminology for lgbt+ stuff, but im leaning towards it sounding a bit "antiquated" and having some different spins on definitions, as opposed being 1 to 1 with modern western terms), and starting to better manage their anxiety and stuff.

Their "main" current relationship is with Yianni, a younger now-extraplanist who they took on as an assistant after the performance group Yianni was part of fell apart. Their dynamic is kinda a combo of friendship, mentor-mentee, and found family. Yianni's like half their age, and theyll jokingly call him their son sometimes, but neither of them actually thinks of their dynamic as a parent-child one even tho they do consider themselves familial. They've lived together for about 7 years and Yianni goes by their last name now, and also credits them with basically saving his life, though they would argue that thats a gross overstatement. They have a habit of neglecting and belittling their own needs in favor of others' but theyve been doing better about that. also they like purple and dress like their world's equivalent of if gonzo was a liberal arts professor.

Hi ive been brainrotting on actual stuff surrounding Allures cult and i need to sit down and place my thoughts

Mature rating because its pretty heavy cult stuff

While looping cirice i kinda wanna begin studying catholicism to sorta understand the religion better (since it's just a branch off of Christianity) and just like. I think allures cult is a believe in one type of god for some time until it eventually turns into Paganism with the older religions of Archangelo... but they want to rename it for allures sake after they pass away, so their followers most likely make a vote on allengelo... sorta just a combination of the eight lambs and allure. The difference is how the people add one more god (making it now nine lambs) of this religion,, their belief in the lambs grow stronger and how the lambs will save them from an eventual doomsday (like how most cults operate, in fear of another rising cult that causes the end of the world. I sometimes forget cults are really this terrifying even when escaping one when you were younger)

I myself eventually converted to islam again so i never exactly had any relations with Christianity and its branches. Using the catholic symbols and reference to missionaries and bishops sorta makes me want to lean further into the darker aspect of allures cult? Their cult *is* named "alluring lamb" after all ,,, you never really know how terrifying it is until youre like. Actually involved. So when im applying my past as a child with trauma regarding cults i hope its clear i dont endorse cults,, i was very lucky to escape

But regarding Allures cult, when they send (mainly two) missionary parties, heket and leshy arent just scavenging for items but genuinely converting others on how this cult is a safe place and etc etc... the dark themes scare me myself but its a big twist to play around with and tackle my own trauma if that makes sense ?

"Cant you see that you're lost.. cant you see that youre lost without me?" Is realistic enough for allure to say, because again theyre still the last remaining god after all. Theres pure horror in that statement. Where else would these cultists go if it werent for the lamb that would save them all from the "fake" religions across the land? Allure was able to change a whole land to their new faith of bringing back the beliefs of archangelo.

people without cptsd dont understand how deep trauma goes. they dont understand why we avoid triggers or even have them.

if someone is slapped daily by a older woman with green eyes, then they'll have flashbacks to it when they see an older woman with green eyes they dont even know. theyll feel the sharp pain of being slapped all over again like it was really happening right there, theyll freeze and wont be able to respond to anyone waving in front of them and calling their name because their mind is locked up, focused on the traumatic memory and unable to think about anything else. theyll also feel uncomfortable around any older woman with green eyes. then because they know not all people who look like that woman are bad, theyll feel massive guilt for feeling unsafe and triggered by all of them, to the point of thinking they deserve their trauma and even self harm. if a person was raped in a small white room, even if they dont remember the rape or dont know it happened, they will fear every small white room and have a feeling if they ever go in a small white room, they might never come out again. if they dont know the rape happened because theyre dissociative, their fear will seem unreasonable and ridiculous. if you were shot in front of a friend and theyre the last person you saw you will associate trauma with them and the friend will wonder why you never want to see them again because they didnt do anything wrong, and you feel guilt and like youre a monster. complex trauma causes a spiral of guilt and thinking youre this bizarre person whos fears are delusional. thats why we ask for trigger warnings and break down into a dissociative flashback filled panic attack in the middle of a public place after seeing or hearing a reminder of the trauma.

and people think we do this shit to seek attention, no were over here too embarassed about it

ok but theyre literally . parallels. joker being a phantom thief, yu being a detective. both have bonds with their respective detective princes but in Very differing ways, despite largely starting out the same (weird detective kid that started investigating them and following them around). also joker moving to the city from the countryside to live with a stranger who wont trust him around his daughter, vs yu moving to the country from the city to live with an estranged relative who constantly leaves his daughter with him for honestly too long. but theyre also just about the only people that can Truly understand each other on the same level, both being wildcards and leaders. they both know the pain and sacrifices and constant worry that comes with leading a team, both know the feeling of being arbitrarily decided to have some grand fate/destiny, both have seen the way that the justice system can be incompetent at best and actively malicious at worst. yu being a bit older and finished with his journey already, now lending an ear to the younger wildcard during his Incredibly Traumatic Journey. yu would also probably be very alarmed to hear about the state of the velvet room and the "guidance" that joker's been receiving, let alone when november comes around and hes proclaimed dead and comes out beaten and drugged. yu takes on a supportive and caring role in most of his relationships and joker's constant antics and spontaneity gives him both an outlet for his care and also a change of pace with the chaos it brings. they keep each other on their toes, but have a solidarity their teammates cant really understand or relate to. they both know what its like to have to leave everything behind when the journey is over and its time to go back to a "home" where you dont really belong. its having someone to come back to at night knowing theyll be there for you at your worst, and knowing theyll understand anything at all, even if its having fought and killed gods. also joker is a catboy and yu loves cats send tweet alexa post alexa send to mom

Nah bro not certain people giving Turning Red a bad review because of how it talked about periods/puberty explicitly (even though without it being said outright it would’ve been implied anyway, which I'll explain in a second), that the humor was cringey, or how there were "stereotypes" (like they dont even specify what steroetypes they saw in the movie I swear they just say "theres stereotypes" but don't elaborate).

Like WOW who wouldve thought that a film set in the 2000s would include DATED humor from that era? Like those reviewers haven’t had cringy moments/humor in their adolescent life. You at least get one as a treat (I swear they sound like those 9th graders that say the 8th graders are immature even though they were just an 8th grader under 3 months ago). Or who would've thought that a film called TURNING RED would openly discuss periods, as if millions of girls/women around the world do not experience their underwear "turning red" every month for one week from the ages 10 (the earliest) to 50s (the lastest). Or, oh, how the so-called stereotypes (seriously the reviewers don't specify what stereotypes. Like do they mean Racial? Gender? What kids do at the ages of 13??? I literally dont know) that are in the movie, when an ASIAN WOMAN directed this, so I'd imagine that it be really hard for her to include any stereotypes, or have any stereotypes be allowed in this movie that tried to make it's way into productions. She obviously incorporated her experiences growing up, as well as others who had helped work on this! Like, Domee Shi was 13 years old in 2002, the same age and year that Mei is in the movie, like, HELLO?!

I should note that I am not of Asian descent however. I’m Mexican and a AFAB, so I'm really only qualified for the period talk. If anyone who is Asian could tell me if there are any stereotypes in this movie, big or small, please let me know. Or if certain cultural aspects were represented either accurate/somewhat accurate/not accurate. I'd like to learn and educate myself on these topics.

These negative reviews that arent based on any proper criticism ARE few and far between, at least from what I saw so far. Hopefully it stays that way. They could be baiting people like me who knows. It’s just irritating to see. Just go watch the movie instead and decide for yourself if this movie is good or not to you. Me personally, I love it. I'm glad that Pixar is making these types of films. Hopefully, after certain recent events that happen with Disney (which is a whole can of worms that still angers me but I dont wanna put that in this post), Disney will allow for more movies like this, as well as the discussion/representation for other topics. *CoughCough DisneySayGay CoughCough*

Anyway if anyone who worked on Turning Red/personally knows people who worked on it, is somehow reading this. Please know that this movie means a lot to people in many ways. Keep up that good work.

A Rose in Winter has become a beast that I can no longer contain. I finally got the lesbians to make up, but now the problem is that they’re too in love with each other to move the story along at a decent pace to the next conflict because they just woke up next to each other for the first time and won’t stop talking about how much they love each other. 

Get your asses out of bed, you useless lesbians, it’s time for you to get banished from the castle because one of you decided to wear dresses.
