been back to work on press start, so here’s a chunk of some of my favorite words from it
Oliver keeps close to Rem as they walk, Rem’s steps stalling to a slow pace the nearer they get to his place. He’s quiet, hands to himself, gaze straight ahead, and Rem’s not one to ask, but he almost does. Almost stops and asks what’s on Oli’s mind.
Doesn’t have to, though, because Oliver runs a hand over the necklace at his throat and says, “You just randomly picked this out, huh?” and Rem regrets asking Oliver to walk with him.
With a shrug and his gaze set forward, Rem says, “Don’t make a big deal out of it. Billie sent me to the B&B and I saw it and just …” Another shrug and he lets his words fall silent.
“Okay.” He doesn’t sound convinced, though. “It’s just, you’ve never gotten me a gift before.”
“Never gotten anyone a gift before,” he says and hates the words the second they’ve left his mouth.
“I know. Which just makes it weirder.”
“Fucking hell, Oli,” Rem says under his breath and grabs for his lighter, his cigarettes, and curses again when he finds the pack’s empty. He tosses it to the snow with a scowl and shoves the lighter back into his pocket. “You don’t have to keep it if it’s such a big deal.”
The thought of Oliver giving it back, though … Rem’s not sure he could handle it.
“It being such a big deal makes me wanna keep it even more.” Which is … nice, Rem thinks, gaze finally rising to settle on the necklace. “I do like it.”
“Good.” He clenches his teeth to force back a smile and halts at the end of the sidewalk. Home’s across the street, three houses down, bright and twinkling even in the morning sunlight. “Breakfast tomorrow?”
“Breakfast tomorrow,” Oli says with a smile and a lingering stare that Rem can’t decide if he likes or not.

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

Are you normal about the trans people who only want to socially transition because that's what's right for them? Are you normal about the transgirls with beards? listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.
Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.
writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.
so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.
she's the reason Claudia exists.
she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.
