#JackedKirby - When the King meets the Master of the Bat!!! Jack was a very prolific comic artist, completing thousands beyond thousands of pages of interior art on top of covers and house ads for his publishers. He is probably produced more comic work then any one else in the history of the industry. But somehow he still had time to complete commissions, gifts and personal projects of his own fancy. Through the years many of these non published pieces have now seen the light of day. They are shared around the web and are used extensively by John Morrow in the Jack Kirby Collector to provide awesome covers that have never been seen! This is a perfect example of that: a crazy fight scene featuring Spider-Man & Ikaris of the Eternals vs Iron Man & Thor!!! This piece was clearly dreamed up by an ambitious fan and the pencils were completed in 1977. But the pencils made another appearance in February of 2000 as the front cover of The Kirby Collector #Issue27 with inks/colors provided by the legendary Bruce Timm! Timm is most famous for his work on Batman the Animated Series, and is also the co-creator of Harley Quinn. Timm is a huge Kirby fan a took those original pencils to give it some vibrant color and life! While overall the piece is pretty dope, it certainly features one of the wonkier "Jack Spidey's" I have ever seen. Where is his neck? Hahahah. Even when things are not great for Jack they are magical in their own way. I love the detail of Spidey webbing Thor's hammer.
