Godlike Platonic!Grid x Reader

Summary: The reader defends the drivers in front of the reporters and calls them out on their behaviour towards the drivers.

A/N: english is not my first language and to be honest I don‘t know how I feel about this one but I hope you still enjoy it. Have fun reading <3

It‘s a Sunday and Lando, Max, Daniel and I find ourself in a post race interview. Everything would be fine if the reporters wouldn‘t harass Lando with questions about a mistake that caused him to DNF with only two rounds left in the race.

He, as always, beats himself up about his mistake and the reporters only make it worse. My mood at the beginning of the press conference was pretty good, I finished P2.

But hearing the reporters ask more or less the same stupid questions over and over again and seeing that Landos mood is getting worse and worse, my mood is getting worse too and I have no issue with showing it, an eye roll here a head shake there.

I am known for my attitude and to make my PR managers life a living hell. I always say what I think without thinking of the consequences. Which is mostly the truth. That wouldn‘t be a problem if humans wouldn‘t be so damn sensitive. At least that is what I always tell myself.

And this exact behaviour got me in this situation.

“Y/N, you seem pretty annoyed in the last few minutes. What is going on?“ One of the reporters asks curiously.

“Whats going on?“ I ask rhetorically. “Let me tell you what is going on.“ I can already hear my PR manager yell at me. “You guys are harassing Lando with the same stupid questions for the better part of the last ten minutes. That is what the fuck is going on my nerves. What is also getting on my nerves is that you all are acting like you know everything better and can do everything better than we do, which is bullshit because if you would, you would be sitting in these cars and not us. You are also acting like the mistakes we make are the god damn end of the world, they aren‘t. If you want races without any mistakes then you would have to replace every human in Formula 1 with robots. Because that is what we are humans.“ I say sternly. “A lot of people like to forget that. I know when we drive these cars at 250 Kilometers per hour we seem Godlike and with Godlike I mean flawless, perfect and infallible-“

“And with ‘we‘ she means her.“ Daniel interrupts me to try to light up the mood. I can‘t help but smirk lightly at that before I continue.

“- but we are not. Like I said we are. just. humans. We make mistakes, we are‘t infallible or perfect. And that is good because like my mother always said perfect is boring. And that is true, lets be honest if every race would go perfectly, without any mistakes nobody would watch it due to the fact that it would be boring. You guys need to except that and need to realise that it‘s okay when we make mistakes and to stop rub it in our god damn faces and to stop beating us up because of that, for being human. Believe me we do that enough without your stupid questions and assumptions. Well at least I do. So yeah I am annoyed because you idiots think you are allowed to talk down on us just because you think you know it better.“

I look back at the reporters to see most of them looking like a dear caught in headlight’s.

“Ah thank you. I am sure a lot of us will take note of that and be more respectful in the future.“ The reporter from earlier sais. “You better fucking do.“ I scoff.

There are a few more questions wich are more respectful this time. Most of the reporters seem pretty uncomfortable and happy when the time is up and they can leave.

The four of us were walking towards our garages when Lando speaks up “Thank you by the way.“ He sais smiling at me. “Oh don‘t be so arrogant Lan. Who said I did that for you? That was purely for my well being.“ I say smirking. The others just laugh. “No but lets be real they need to stop with this shit otherwise I am not gonna be that nice next time.“ Daniel rises his eyebrows at me. “Hey you know it could have been way worse.“ I ad when I see Daniels look.

“True.“ Max agrees.

“Yeah but still tank you. But I was wondering, do you writhe your speeches yourself or do you have someone that does that for you?“

“Oh yeah very funny Lando haha. You are just jealous.“ I say in fake annoyance and cross my armes over my chest.

“Oh come on you know I am messing with you.“ He wraps his arm around my shoulders and pulls me into his side.

“Yeah what ever you idiot. I need a shower and real alcohol. I expect to see every one of you at the club later.“ I say and point a finger at each of them with a stern look.

“Of course we are gonna be there how could we say no to an invitation like that.“ Danny jokes.

“I mean it. If I don‘t see you, I will drag your asses to the club myself.“ I call after them walking towards my driver room.

First meetings from Tango's pov... (I'm not much of a writer but I wanted to try it :3, sorry if its not good...)

Tango wouldnt say he was oblivious, sure he sometimes missed some important gossip and some PR announcements but to be fair his work is the car. He couldn't care less for some random gossip or stuff from the PR people, his work is making the car better and he is a simple mechanic, no one to be in front of cameras.

Thats why when conversations about a driver move to Williams came up on the racing community, he payed no mind to them. Tango knew some name was circulating around, but again he really didnt care about it, gossip was common and nothing he is interesting in, can some people call him ignorant? That he didnt even noticed news outlets posting about it or watched his team principal's interviews? Yes, some people can call him that, however he still thinks he isnt oblivious, obviously he will know when a driver moves to his team, he isnt dumb.

Even his good friend Impulse, asks him what his opinion about Solidarity's move to Williams, which takes him by surprise bc if he's not mistaken no one at the team knows who will be the new driver and wasnt Solidarity a Redbull driver? That's what he says to Impulse and that honestly even if he knew, his friend is still on a different team. (Impulse looks at him like he doesnt believe it)

Later, much for Impulse amusement, Tango only discovers that Solidarity would race for Williams after a PR colleague says it straight on his face, apparently it was neither speculation nor a secret on the factory.

And the fact he somehow missed multiple times the presence of the driver in the factory, thats stays only between him and his colleague.

Tango wouldnt say he was that oblivious, of course he now knew Jimmy Solidarity was going to race for William's this season, but it still takes him by surprise when the driver approaches him with two cups of coffee.

"Here, you look like you need some" he says extending one cup to him

The mechanic feels a little taken away by the gesture, and doesnt know what to say. He never thought a driver would do this, he must be mistaken and that's not for him. So he just stares in shock to the said driver.

After some time of silence Solidarity slightly gestures to his extended hand and Tango finally gets the memo that yes, it's for him.

Tango takes the cup and takes a sip, unsurprisingly the coffee isnt exactly like he likes but even so it astonish him that it's close enough. "Thanks", he says softly with a small smile to Solidarity, the driver just smiles in return and leaves, probably to analyse some data.

Even as time continues Tango continues stunned with the small random interaction, till Hunter, one of his colleagues who was watching the exchange, tells him that it was very known that Solidarity was really friendly to every team member and since joining the team he had been randomly interacting with everyone.

Tango then concludes that maybe he is a bit oblivious because there's no way he never noticed the driver interacting with is colleagues.

But surely this was gonna be a one time thing, he was a simple mechanic and there was no way the driver truly cared of him.

Little did he know that Jimmy asked around how the pretty blonde mechanic that worked the whole morning liked his coffee.

they've even recently tried 'lando doesn't care about mental health, he never posts about it, x,y,z driver posts about it more'. no, he doesn't post shallow tweets occasionally paying lip service to it, nor does he do 'i went to discover what this mental health thing is all about' pr drivel like certain others do on the odd occasion they remember they claimed to care about it.

instead he has put his efforts into effecting real change where he can irl. he talks honestly and frankly about his own ongoing struggles on live tv and in interviews like the one he did with jon last year. it's well-known how much impact famous young men speaking openly about their struggles has on other young men who are struggling, a group who have such a high rate of mh issues and suicide. like your other anon said, by being open and honest he steered mclaren toward taking mh seriously starting when he was only 19 years old, is the reason they were the one team that got their team members proper mh support during covid, is the reason they have the partnership with mind, and his work bts has led to them now having a trackside psychologist for the team and having recently hired a second, have a proper mental wellbeing team at the mtc. he is one of only two drivers who spoke out in the media as far back as 2021 about the worry of the mh impact of the increased calendar on the trackside teams, zak has also said lando spoke to him about his concerns for the crew and that was one of the things that made him act accordingly - mclaren started rotating their trackside team as far back as early 2022, increasing that more through 2022 & 2023, since early last year have been running test sessions to train new engineers and mechanics so they can be added to the rotation and have recently completed another round of recruitment for working toward them having 3 people in every position that they can rotate across the year to give their staff a proper rest. a couple of people who work at mclaren have also said that lando took it on himself to talk with them and care about them when he heard on the grapevine they were struggling and i doubt they're the only ones he's done that with. he has used his position to push for change & lead by example in the place he is most able to, his own workplace, where it has had a real and meaningful impact on people's lives. and that has spread out across the paddock with other teams starting to follow mclaren's lead. (seb also had a similar impact on mh work within aston martin once he joined them in 2021) it is so much more than lip service or a bit of pr. effecting change is not about how much you post about something on social media.

a lot of people don't realise how much he's done within mclaren because he doesn't blow his own trumpet about it 24/7 but zak, andrea and other team members have let out bits here and there about how much he really cares. andrea has also spoken at length about how much lando did to help him keep the team's spirits up in 2023 when things were bad (and andreas seidl said the same of him in 2022). there is also someone who works at the mtc who posts in the mclaren sub on reddit occasionally who said early last year that whenever lando was at the mtc he took the time to go around every single department individually and talk to them and encourage them and thank them for all their efforts and assure them things would come good, and the mclaren guy said how much that meant to people who work there. (he posted in response to some fans saying lando must make mclaren workers feel like shit because he talks in interview about the car being bad)

also oscar going to the great barrier reef is fantastic. i'd imagine they reached out to him to help with awareness and he was very happy to do so while he was able to be in australia for a while. he and lily were in queensland over the break (he posted a pic of them in noosa) so maybe he got talking to people then that made him want to be involved. and honestly how dare those "fans" turn it into something to bash lando with instead of recognising the great initiative oscar himself has taken and the platform for awareness of the work being done there that it is.

Chills went all over your body as you cheered for Carlos’ first victory in his career. He finally fucking did it.

Making your way through the crowd, you stood near the barricade as Carlos took the podium, looking proud of his achievement. Despite being in a sea of people, he smiled at you and sent you a wink, which caused you to blush.

As you walked back to find Daniel to accompany him for his post-race interviews, Carlos followed shortly after and couldn’t help but look at you as you stood beside his friend. Butterflies erupting in his stomach– how could you stand amongst people and still be the most beautiful woman ever?

When Daniel finished his interview, you gave him a quick hug and congratulated him for his efforts on the race, “Good job, Daniel, today was tough.”

“Thank you, Y/N,” He smiled as he patted your back, “Looks like a certain someone wants your attention.”

“McLaren. I like my job, but Daniel’s leaving next year,” You frowned as you rambled, “I just- I don’t know. Lando’s got his own PR, so where do I go?”

“No, not like that,” He chuckled as he smiled at you, a sparkle in his eye, “Come be my PR. Mine’s about to take off next season for God knows what reason. It’s perfect timing.

“Ay, of course not,” He replied while clicking his tongue, “You know how much I missed having you around. Besides, if you were with me so often, I think I could win more.”

Rolling your eyes and shaking your head, “You know you don’t have to sugarcoat just so I could take the position.”

“I’m not!” Carlos frowned as he crossed his arms like a kid, “I’m telling the truth.”

Before you could respond, Lando runs up to the two of you and puts his arms around your shoulders and Carlos’, “Hey, hey! What’s up with my two friends?”

“Nothing, just persuading Y/N to come to Ferrari as my PR next year,” Carlos groaned as he stood up straighter.

“What?!” Lando exclaimed as he took his arms away and stood in front of the two of you, “No! She’s a McLaren girl through and through!”

“Please, mate,” Carlos snickered as he shook his head, “Red suits her so much better!”

“You’re wrong,” Lando frowned as he crossed his arms, “She’s gonna be my PR.”

“In your dreams, Lando.”

“Oh god, will the two of you stop it?” You laughed as you brushed your hair back with your fingers, “I’ll go wherever my heart decides for the next season. Okay?”

The two boys grumbled an agreement and nodded before Lando bid his farewell to catch up to George, who passed by.

“So,” Carlos trailed off as he smiled sheepishly, “Can I win your heart?”

Damn it, Carlos. Always so vague with his statements.

“Maybe, red would suit me,” You shrugged as you crossed your arms, “Who knows?”

“Mhm, red would definitely suit you,” Carlos smirked as he took his jacket off and placed it around your shoulders, “See?”

You couldn’t fight the blush that spread on your cheeks as you took in a deep breath of his cologne, “I guess it does.”

“You know what else would suit you?”

Frowning in confusion, you tilted your head and looked at Carlos, “What?”

Carlos smiled as he tapped your nose, “Me.”

Academy Award winning couple Y/N L/N and Rintarou Suna have become one of our favorite celebrity couples; the two have been secretly dating for three years. The reason behind it is because, according to Y/N, she wasn't so sure about their relationship at the beginning.

She admits her initial concerns about dating the Japanese actor. “I was scared. I never dated anyone ever since I started my career. Totally agree with you about Cater in Book 5. I always found Ace and Deuce's inclusion on the team extremely forced and contrived. Realistically speaking, neither of them should’ve ever made the cut. Neither one of them have any singing or dancing training. While they did practice a little, there’s no way in hell someone would ever become a professional level dancer in the matter of a couple of days, even with the best teacher in the world. 

I’m 99% certain that Yana only did that for plot convenience, because that way she wouldn’t have to craft two new characters to fill in the roles on the team. While I can understand that logic from a real world game development standpoint, like you said, I still don’t understand why someone like Cater could’ve taken Ace’s spot at the very least. Cater is in the Light Music Club, so he has a background in that area. His VA is a professional singer. Cater making the team wouldn’t be as big of a stretch as Ace. It’s not like Ace did much in this arc other than cause trouble and insult Deuce, anyways, so anyone could’ve taken his spot. 

The other question about ch 3 is going to take a bit more thinking, cuz I've tried to make it work before in various stories, but this seems like a complete rework kind of answer is needed.

And yeah, I made a post a while ago about how Cater had to feel about the VDC, and it's something I tackle in some of my fics. Because I don't know how he can look at what happened and who got picked and not come to the conclusion Vil just hates him? Like this man is so driven to win that he's willing to do anything...except let Cater on the team.

And given I ship the two of them primarily their dynamic is something I've put a lot of effort into figuring out. The only thing I've found to justify it is that Vil doesn't like the idea of dating someone just for PR/fame. Because the way he talks to/reacts to Cater is just... not in line with how he treats everyone else. He constantly calls him shallow or implies he's only after fame which is just a wild take.

That he would let someone like Rook be his friend who 100% comes off more like a stalker fan type than Cater. And Rook doesn't even hide it. Like I get they bonded over Theater but it's not like Vil and Cater have no common ground at all. Cater's shown to be into fashion and design, given they go out of their way to mention Cater came up with Heartslabyul's Halloween costumes and designed their LMC clubwear (When for the most part that's all just assumed to be Crewel)

And then there is his friendship with Kalim like I've pointed out. And Lilia which Vil admits is someone he's interested in getting to know better himself. Hell Cater and Rook are friends? Like none of it makes sense.

Especially when Vil also has no problems with associating with other people who are clearly out to use him?!?! Like Azul, Jade, Ace...even Leona? But nah we're gonna hate on Cater. When he's always you know ASKED to take Vil's picture, even in situations where he wouldn't have to ie in public spaces and what not. He's never just taken it without permission.

In the end, despite the fact that Vil calls Cater shallow he's the one that comes across as incredibly shallow about the whole thing. Especially when we have Cater talking about what he sees in Vil and what he appreciates about him and why he looks up to him...and none of it is really shallow? He definitely sees more in him than just a quick ticket to fame.

It just seems so weird when Vil otherwise seems to put effort into helping others better themselves. He can be incredibly generous and thoughtful in certain situations. AND HE KNOWS THAT CATER IS LIKELY DEPRESSED. And that's what he's hiding behind his cheerful facade thanks to Cater's Labcoat personal story.

It's just like consistency, please. Anyway you probably weren't expecting this rant sorry XD It's a sore spot for me if you can't tell lol

You Kiss Me In A Way That's Gonna Screw Me Up Forever

Shelly muses about one of her favourite forms of affection.

Word Count: 4,746 words. Warnings: mentions pregnancies, babies, children, alludes to adult activities, but it's more a fluffy, reflection piece. Notes: ~ Title from "Suburban Legends" by Taylor Swift. ~ Inspired by @aug-kissed prompt post here. I don't really think it counts as a submission so to speak, but the prompt post inspired it all. ~ This is a piece in the same vein as ‘Til You Sometimes Come And Tug My Sweater

Finally, and more importantly; I'm gonna dedicate this to my fantastic wife @robinruns - I might've ruined her a bit with the last piece so hopefully this makes up for a bit. Plus, today is her birthday and she's my biggest cheerleader AND MY WIFE so I can't think of anything better than dedicating a sappy fluff piece about her OTP to her <3

Their first kiss was backstage at Warped Tour. That was their first, proper, full on kiss. The first kiss that meant something. There had been kisses before that though, top of the head kisses and kisses on cheeks, but they had just been a little less meaningful, in the long run.

Shelly was very naturally affectionate. She was more openly affectionate with Frank; she kissed his cheek a lot, but she had been shy about doing the same with Gerard. Much to the vocalist’s disappointment. Still, she had kissed his cheek once or twice, normally as part of a thank you or congratulatory hug. Gerard might’ve kissed her cheek back - especially on her birthday. He’d probably kissed the top of her head once or twice before their first kiss - he liked to do that if he had been hugging her to comfort her; he would bury his nose in her hair and kiss the top of her head as she buried her face in whatever t-shirt he had been wearing. He was pretty certain she’d kissed him goodnight once - kissed his forehead that is. But he’d been so incredibly tired or unwell that day, he couldn’t remember fully.

Before the kiss at Warped Tour, Shelly blew kisses to the whole band all of the time. It was cute and she was never afraid of doing that. They were never afraid of catching the kiss and putting the caught kiss to their chest. And every member of MyChem felt that way; none of them hesitated when it came to catching and returning that affection.

To be honest, even after the Warped Tour kiss, she still kept blowing kisses to the whole band. Even Gerard, because she had to keep up appearances after all. At least while they were still keeping themselves to themselves. They just had to sneak kisses when they could, which… Wasn’t totally difficult with the amount of time Shelly spent doing paperwork in the back office of their bus. When they weren’t on the bus however, it was a little more difficult. It was easy enough for them to not be around when the others were doing sound check - Gerard wasn’t often needed all the time and Shelly could say that she was on calls. They still had to be super aware of Other People, and that’s what Shelly was nervous about. She didn’t mind if the others caught them. And neither did Gerard, really. To be honest, he didn’t mind if anyone caught them - he was proud to be with her. But, he understood that she was nervous about telling the public, and he completely understood her reasons why; they’d talked about it a few times after all. He was more than happy to go at her pace for that.

Besides, the whole ‘sneaking around thing’ could be really hot. He just had to make sure that she didn’t leave any lipstick or lipgloss marks on his face. Or his neck. Or anywhere she might’ve kissed him. That someone else could see, that is. It was okay if it was going to be hidden. Later on, when everybody knew, neither of them minded very much if there had been evidence of them kissing. Shelly didn’t mind if it was obvious she’d reapplied her lipstick, and Gerard certainly didn’t mind if he had remnants on his check, his neck or even on his own lips. He would try and look presentable, of course, but if he missed a bit, it really wasn’t the end of the world. And when they were touring during ProRev, he was less inclined to wipe it off, so there were periods of time where Gerard was walking around with an almost fully intact lipstick mark peeking out from his neckline or something. And Shelly couldn’t even find it in herself to be mad about it. If anything, it felt… Nice to not be so secretive or shy about being affectionate with her partner. It was nice to be a bit obvious about it for once. Even if it was only for this part of the tour.

When they finally confessed to the rest of the band, and actually, once they were comfortable telling the rest of the world, Gerard found himself falling into a habit of holding her hand, as often as he could. He would squeeze her hand gently if he felt she needed a little bit of a reassurance boost. That would always get a small smile from her. If he felt like she needed a bigger boost, he would kiss the back of her hand. This action would almost always, nine out of ten times, earn him a sweet little giggle. And a little blush would appear on her face. She absolutely loved it when he did that; pressing his lips against each of her knuckles in turn before then kissing the back of her hand. It made her absolutely swoon. It didn’t help that he looked like an absolute dreamboat, an actual heartthrob; he looked like he could be in a boyband. A musician who’d be on the posters that adorned the bedroom walls of teenage girls. Teenage girls who would, if they were anything like Shelly when she was younger with her posters of Jon Bon Jovi, would kiss those posters goodnight sometimes. Or blow kisses to them at least.

And he was hers. He was hers to cover in lipstick marks and lipgloss kisses and, a little later on, he was hers to cover in hickies.

He definitely didn’t complain about her doing that. If anything, he loved it when she locked the door behind them, backed him up until he was forced to sit on the edge of a bed so she could climb into his lap, straddle his legs to start marking him up. She always ended up with her fingers in his hair and god Gerard was weak for that, for her. She could do whatever she wanted to him and he did not mind in the slightest. He’d later go on to flash a hickey she’d left on his waistline during one of the Black Parade shows. Actually, he was certain it was during ProRev, as he had acted… Well, Lux had called it slutty, Frank had said that Gerard had been “in heat,” before adding with a grin, “isn’t that Shelly’s job?” He’d nearly gotten smacked for that.

Gerard had seen Shelly’s reaction, actually, when he’d been acting like that, teasingly showing off that mark. At first she’d looked incredibly embarrassed, but, after Gerard had glanced between his woman and some other reactions, that had almost spurred Shelly on a bit, and when he finally got her alone later on, he was more than willing to let her add a new mark to his current collection. That had been the plan anyway, so he had been incredibly surprised when she’d encouraged him to make his mark. It would’ve been incredibly rude for him to refuse the request of his lady though, and he’d said so, which had made Shelly giggle.

As hot as the hickies were, as wobbly as her knees went when he kissed her - when he really kissed her; his arm around her waist holding her tightly up against him, a hand either cupping her cheek or cradling the back of her head - it was like he could never get close enough… As knee wobbling wonderful as those kisses were, nothing really beat the explosions of butterflies and feelings that were created when he kissed the back of her hand.

This hand-kissing habit was not something that he ever dropped or lost. If anything, the longer they were together, the braver he was with it. He’d grab her hand as soon as possible and immediately kiss the back of it, like when he got off stage for the night when she was waiting for them. He liked to wrap an arm around her shoulders and press a kiss to the side of her face when he’d finished a show, but she didn’t always let him do that because sometimes he was a bit sweaty. So he would just stop at grabbing her hand and kissing the back of it. Instead of doing that and then pulling her to him.

He’d kiss her hand when she would rest her hand on his shoulder when she stood behind him when he was seated. If he got the chance, he would kiss her hand. Sometimes he would kiss her palm, and that definitely always got a giggle from her.

During ProRev, he would make a point of hugging her or kissing her when he knew that certain people were around. He tried to be sure that he was sometimes dramatically affectionate so that it was obvious that he was being affectionate, so that it was obvious who he was with. Not as dramatic as Frank would be, but Gerard was in his own quiet way. But he was always holding her hand and he would often lift her hand to kiss the back of it, just for the sake of it. The affectionate action could’ve been seen as absentminded, almost, by an onlooker. If it had been during any other time, it would’ve been… Gentler so to speak. But, during ProRev he was definitely more affectionately aggressive. Although, he knew that Shelly was a little shy about too many public displays of affection, so he didn’t go too hard with it. He did really like grabbing her to pull her close to kiss her though.

The older they got, and the longer they were together, the more comfortable they both got kissing a bit more in public. Especially as their relationship progressed - if the rest of the band thought they were bad once they were engaged, once they’d gotten married they were even worse. Gerard would hold out his hand for Shelly to take with a “my lady wife” - and he’d kiss the back of her hand when she took it so he could help her to her feet.

He did this a lot more when she was pregnant, and that brought along a new kind of kiss - baby bump kisses. And Shelly loved those. Over the clothing kisses were nice but the lip to skin baby bump kisses were the best. He spent her whole pregnancy (all of her pregnancies!) kissing her bump - he didn’t restrict himself to a single trimester or anything. From the moment she told him that she was expecting, even if she wasn’t showing, he would be very affectionate with her stomach.

Gerard found himself being cautious (but consistent) with how affectionate and protective he was with her and her body; not just with her first pregnancy, but with all of them. It might’ve made sense if he had just been cautious with their first, but… Nope. It turned out that he was protective and affectionate every time she got pregnant.

He was mostly affectionate with her stomach in private, especially if they hadn’t told everyone/anyone yet, but a little more protective publicly. He wouldn’t kiss her stomach in public, he’d save that for when they were alone together. In public, he would constantly position himself between her and anything or anyone else, or he’d rest his hand on her stomach. As she got bigger, he’d stand behind her and hold her bump for a bit and that would always get him many brownie points. But, he’d do it even if it didn’t - this was his wife after all.

The most “public” he got with kissing her belly (kissing over her clothes at least) was when they were on the bus with the rest of the band, or surrounded by the band after they knew. When it was just them though? He would lift her clothes to kiss her skin all the time. He’d almost always be kissing or touching on her, and she never seemed to mind too much. Especially not when the baby started moving more; if the baby kicked when Gerard was kissing her skin - it was like the baby was (gently) kicking him in the face. And Shelly found that incredibly amusing. Gerard didn’t, every time, but sometimes it was funny. It was definitely funny to Shelly, when she was pregnant with their son (though they didn’t know the gender at the time), that one of the first kicks Gerard felt was essentially to the face.

“Huh!” Gerard had murmured as he gently rubbed his face where he’d been kicked. “I don’t think this baby likes me very much!”

Shelly had just giggled and stroked where she felt the baby moving. “Mm, maybe we’re having a boy, and he’s not happy that you’re getting too close to his mama.”

Gerard pouted. “But you’re my wife! I was here first!”

“Oh psh,” she leant up to kiss away his pout. “You have Melody, we know she’s a daddy’s girl. Let me have a mama’s boy!”

“Hmn!”

“You know you’ll always have the majority of my heart,” Shelly nuzzled him. “But you have to share with the children, and then the rest of the family. But let me have a child who’s favourite is mama.”

“Oh love,” Gerard snuggled with her. “Melody would rather have you instead of me most of the time.”

“She’s such a daddy’s girl though,” Shelly hummed as he stroked her belly. “And I don’t mind, I love that for her. I love that she's getting what I didn’t.”

Gerard held Shelly tighter and buried his nose in her hair, kissing the top of her head. “You didn’t need him, love. You grew up just fine.”

Shelly hummed. “I did have my grandfather after all.”

“Mm hm! And he helped you grow up more than fine,” Gerard kissed her forehead. “You grew up perfectly.”

That was another type of kiss that Shelly loved - the forehead kiss. The forehead kiss made her absolutely melt. She was incredibly fortunate that she was as short as she was, and that her band family were all taller than her. Because it meant that they would often give her a little forehead kiss as a quick and easy way to show her some affection. Either that, or a top of the head kiss, but they tended to opt for the forehead kiss nine times out of ten. And she appreciated that, especially if she had put a bit more effort into her make-up that day. She’d rather head a forehead kiss than a cheek kiss if she had a full face of make-up. (She was always more than happy to have Gerard kiss her make-up off of her later in the evening though.)

Some of her favourite photos from their wedding day was actually a series of forehead kisses; her grandmother kissing her forehead before lowering her veil in the bridal room before the ceremony, her grandfather kissing her forehead before handing her off to her mother, her mother kissing her forehead at the end of the aisle after lifting the veil for her before she passed her off to Gerard. Finally, there was a photo of Gerard kissing her forehead as they were dancing later on that evening.

Her favourite forehead kiss though, was the one she received early one November morning, in their bedroom, on their bed, having just given birth to their first child - their daughter Melody.

As soon as the baby had been put in her arms, the midwives and her mother had left them alone. Gerard returned to her side, settling close enough to wrap and arm around her to hold them both close. He’d then pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead, and Shelly was sure that she’d heard his voice catch in his throat when he next spoke to her.

Actually, he’d done something similar after the birth of each of their children. He’d been so gentle and tender with the babies, and with her especially. When it came to their second and third, she was surprised that he still seemed so… In awe. Of how small their children were, of the babies in general, of her and what she’d just gone through. Like it was their first all over again. But, much like with their oldest, each one of their children’s first kiss was a tiny little smooch to the top of their tiny little heads. Because kissing the top of their heads was the safest part of them for some time, and Shelly and Gerard were both so protective of their children. But as soon as it was safe to kiss them properly - smooches. Smooches galore. And not just from their parents.

Shelly made sure to give her children as many forehead kisses as she could as they grew; there were stages where they almost grew out of being snuggly with their mom, but then they’d fall back into it, a bit, quite quickly. Probably because they all saw how affectionate mom was with dad, and how affectionate dad was with mom - and then how freely all their aunts and uncles gave out their affection; to each other, to their (the kids’) parents, and more importantly, to the kids themselves. They quickly learnt that their closest adults were happy to exchange affection, even at their older ages, so it must be okay to be like that younger, too. They learnt that it was just mom and dad who were so relaxed and happy expressing their feelings like that, that it was their whole family, so it must be okay.

That’s why it delighted Shelly when her kids kissed her goodnight. There did come a point where they got too big to be tucked in, much to her disappointment, so when the kids went up to bed first, most of the time they’d go and kiss the top of their mother’s head, or sneak in a hug before heading upstairs. Gerard loved seeing Shelly light up when they did that as they got older. If the kids were going out without their mom, the family without one of them in general, the family would always do, at minimum, hugs goodbye. Kisses between the parents, obviously, but they didn’t force the kids to kiss, ever. They didn’t force them to hug either, really, but they were always more than willing to. Especially when it came to their mother.

Gerard was always willing to hug his wife. Hug her hello, goodbye, good morning or good night. He was definitely always more than willing to kiss his wife for any reason. He would always kiss her goodbye (or ‘see you later’) - always. Even if it took him a few extra minutes to do so. Not kissing her goodbye, not saying ‘I love you’ before leaving was not an option. He would go out of his way to do it. There wasn’t a single scenario in which he would ever, ever NOT kiss his wife goodbye. Or his children, once they had them. Mildly neglecting his wife like that was not something he wanted to do. Plus, and it was a little morbid, he sometimes worried. He wanted to make sure that, if something bad happened, a hug, a kiss and a ‘I love you’ would be his last words and actions for his family.

They never went to bed angry for similar reasons. On the other hand, Gerard and Shelly didn’t really argue too much anyway. They got annoyed with each other, sure. Of course they did. Shelly could be hormonal, Gerard could get tired, and that was before babies. When they had children, they both ended up a little frayed at the edges sometimes - that was normal. But they both made a point to not stay grumpy with each other (and definitely not the children) for long. Most certainly not overnight. They tried to keep that negativity out of bedrooms so everyone went to bed happy and feeling loved and okay. Everyone always went to bed with hugs and goodnight kisses.

Goodnight kisses were some of Gerard’s favourites, actually. Regarding his woman anyway. He loved being able to snuggle up with Shelly, or have her snuggle against him before giving her a little goodnight kiss. If she snuggled up to him, that kiss would start as a forehead kiss, or a top of the head kiss, and when she would (inevitably) tilt her face up a little bit, he’d kiss the tip of her nose and then he would always end up kissing her lips.

It was always a proper, deep kiss full of love. Sometimes it was a sleepy kiss; because sometimes she was tired, especially once they had kids. Sometimes it ended up a bit more hurried, because most of the time they just couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. And when they ended up kissing like that, the majority of the time, that would… Progress. It didn’t normally stop at just a kiss goodnight. Especially during the times before they had kids; while they were partners, then engaged, and then husband and wife. Gerard couldn’t help it; he could barely keep his hands off of her, he could never quite believe that she was his. And that feeling intensified as their relationship “levelled up.” After they got married, he would regularly just stare at her, and when she questioned him, he’d just mummer “I can’t believe you’re my wife.”

She’d never complain though - about the staring, because she was guilty of that too. She couldn’t quite believe he was hers either most of the time. And she wouldn’t complain about the kiss progression either. Especially not if they started spooning. He’d press kisses to her shoulder and her neck before shifting her onto her back so he could do that better, so he could reach more of her skin - because even in the winter she rarely wore full coverage pyjamas. Much to his utter delight. If she reacted favourably, which she did more often than not, and if he felt like being patient, he would take the time to move the shoulder straps to kiss at skin, or to lift the hem of her top to press kisses to anything that was then exposed. He wouldn’t always work on undressing her right away.

And even when he did strip her of whether she was wearing, he still normally took his time to kiss all her favourite spots, and all the spots he favoured too - much to her annoyance, because he was so slow and deliberate about it. And he lingered on his favourite locations a little more than hers, if only because when he kissed the areas he liked the most, she would normally giggle and squirm instead and wriggle and moan. He’d get there eventually, of course he would. And he would always plan on teasing her more than he did, he always planned on really taking his time, leaving trails of nips and kisses down her body. But if she was impatient, then he was worse - he was just always so eager to hear all that praise that he knew would fall out of her mouth - because she would always say that he was so good with what he did with his.

He could behave with his kisses! Of course he could - he wasn’t kissing her in a frisky fashion in public after all. He didn’t kiss her like he was going to pin her against the wall on their wedding day in front of all their friends and family.

That kiss, the one on their wedding day, had been very reminiscent of their first kiss, actually. The main exception had been that they were being watched on their wedding day, and hadn’t been when they kissed the first time. On the other hand, much like their first kiss, the kiss on their wedding day was also kinda an anticipated one.

Their first kiss had been anticipated because the whole darn band, and even Shelly’s family to an extent, knew how they felt about each other and, while her family knew not to push her too hard (she was a little bit stubborn after all), the band had been working on the pair of them to get them to talk to each other about their feelings. Their wedding day kiss - well, that’s the thing you wait for on a wedding day, isn’t it? You want to see the bride and groom tie the knot and seal it with a kiss like that.

Much like their first kiss, Gerard had tucked her hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek in his hand. Much like their first kiss, Shelly had giggled a little and looked up at him with such obvious hearts in her eyes, Gerard had been surprised that he hadn’t noticed it sooner.

“I’m gonna kiss you now,” he said, only loud enough for her to hear.

She just beamed, and spoke in a similar volume. ”Any time you want.”

His fingertips brushed against her cheek as he hooked them under her chin to carefully tilt her face up so he could lean down and kiss her. Their first kiss as husband and wife! He knew he had to behave with it; her mom, grandmother and grandfather were literally a few feet away from them after all, as were his parents. So he had to be good. Until he got her behind closed doors anyway. But that would have to wait.

Of course, there had been some ‘kiss for the camera’ chances after the ceremony when they’d stepped away to get some bride and groom photos. But those were similar to the little pecks he later got in during their first dance; on her forehead, on the tip of her nose, on her cheeks, and of course, pecks on her lips.

Once the photographer had left to give them some quiet time, just to get a chance to talk to each other for a bit, to be alone properly for the first time all day. Some time just for them; as literally just married husband and wife before they rejoined their guests for the reception.

Gerard shut the door behind him and turned to find his wife (!!!) just… Staring at him, her hands clasped in front of her. When she noticed him looking at her, she beamed at him, shining brighter than the sun had been doing that day. He grinned back at her happily before crossing the room and taking her in his arms, wrapping her in a tight hug as she wrapped her arms around him.

“Oh my god,” Shelly murmured, repeating it softly a few times until he kissed her forehead.

He smiled when she sighed happily. “Better?”

“Mm hm,” she hummed, tilting her face up to nuzzle against him a bit.

“That stop all the noise and commotion?” He asked, keeping one arm around her waist, using his other hand to brush some hair away from the face.

“You know it did.”

“Good,” he pressed a kiss to the tip of her nose.

Shelly giggled and leant up a bit to kiss him properly.

“Mm,” Gerard held her tightly for a moment. “Your make-up.”

“I’ll fix it after,” she slid her hands up his chest. “Can you please just kiss me properly?”

He hummed a little bit and nuzzled her. “Hmn. Well, I don’t know if you’re going to want to do that as much. You’re stuck with the same kisses or the rest of your life. You don’t wanna wear them out. You’ll get bored.”

“Gerard,” she moved back enough to be able to look at him. “I’ve been ruined for other people since we kissed backstage for the first time that summer. I want to only kiss you for the rest of my life.”

“Are you sure?” He nibbled his bottom lip for a moment. “It’s not too late to change your mind, really.”

“Gerard Arthur Way!”

He swallowed and chuckled nervously. “I’ll take that as a -”

“I’m very sure, thank you very much!” She put her hands on her hips, almost glaring at him for a moment before her expression softened and her arms dropped to her sides. “Unless -”

“Don’t even think about saying it,” he interrupted, knowing exactly what she was going to say. “I am not changing my mind.”

“Well! Neither am I!” Shelly smiled at him before grabbing his tie. “Now, Mr. Way…”

Gerard grinned as she tugged him towards her a bit. 

“Your wife demands a kiss.”

Thank you for the lovely prompt anon <3 I focused a bit more on 9, but there's still some of prompt 23 - loss of abilities/skills in there. You didn't specify a ship, so I left it a bit ambiguous. But, it definitely has Max/Oscar vibes! Prompt list for if you want me to put drivers into Situations :D

Sleep deprivation

“A question for Max. What happened in turn 9 today?”

“I don't know, you fucking tell me.”

Max knows this single moment will be clipped to hell and back. He knows that PR will chew him out for it, and that it will cause the reporters to jump on him like sharks smelling blood. But he doesn't fucking care. Not when the incessant flashing of cameras makes his head swim and the endless stream of chatter from the interviewers melts together into a noise that sounds like he's developing god damn tinnitus.

There's a nervous giggle to his right, but when he turns his head he doesn't know where exactly it came from. Oscar's sitting next to him, and there's Lando, too, and since when are their faces so blurry? Max squints, trying to determine the exact point where they're blurring together into a kind of super McLaren driver. The thought makes him snort.

“It seems like you lost control of the car there for a second,” the interviewer rambles on, but Max is busy blinking the world back into focus. “Was it driver error that caused you to almost hit the barriers there?”

Oh wait, Lando and Oscar aren’t melting. Lando's just leaning into Oscar like he doesn't know about the concept of personal space. All gooey and smiley and why does that smile look a bit pained?

Suddenly, there's a foot nudging against his, and Max remembers that he needs to answer something.

“That question is stupid, so I won't answer it. I finished third, didn't I?”

Finishing P3 is embarrassing, he doesn’t need the question that will undoubtedly come next to tell him that. It'll probably be about whether he's okay with that place or if he's lost his ambition. About the multiple rookie mistakes he made throughout the race. The trip through the gravel. Only the pitstop strategy and a lucky safety car saved him from being kicked down to the cold and unforgiving fourth place.

For someone else, it might be passable. Not for Max. Never for Max.

Someone else shouts out another question. Max stares into the vague direction of it until Oscar picks up the microphone and answers something that doesn’t manage to go through the fog of his brain.

The rest of the post-race interview is torture, and by the end of it, his head is pounding and he's trying to hold back shivers that are probably from a fever he's developing. Great. Simply lovely.

When he's on his way to get to his motorhome, a hand on his shoulder stops him. “You were really weird today.” It’s Oscar’s voice. Good. Max couldn't stand anyone else right now. “Are you okay?”

Max lets himself melt into the touch a little. Allows himself the simple comfort of someone else's warmth. “I think I fucking fell ill,” he spits out. “I slept a total of three hours between cold shivers and not being able to breathe through my nose.”

The hand on his shoulder tightens. It’s Oscar's tell that he's really angry about something but doesn't want to show it directly on his face. Max is a little proud of himself, proud that he remembers that tiny detail even when his brain feels like a soapbox driven by a snail instead of the usual pace of the RB19.

“Okay, that's totally fine. Racing while sick is nice. Cool that you did that.” Max might be dead tired, but he can still hear the sarcasm dripping from Oscar’s words. “Let's get you to bed.”

“So forward. I thought that you needed to ask Lando for permission to do that with other people. Or you already asked, of course.”

Oscar laughs, that high-pitched one he sometimes lets out when someone surprises him. His arm wraps around Max's waist, guides him the last couple of steps to the door of his motorhome and beyond it. Huh. Max hasn’t even noticed that they've been walking towards his bedroom.

“I really think you need to sleep a bit. I'll stay if you need something.”

Oscar firmly but gently pushes him onto the bed. And Max lets him do it without objections. A warm feeling spreading through his body as he closes his eyes with a content sigh.

After seeing a post where it said that Miles no longer posted photos of him and Alex, I thought the same thing, they never appear together again, whether on Miles' IG or elsewhere, even if they are at the same party etc... Just a little hasty hug on stage and that's it. It seems like there is a fortress that has been built around Alex, (or that he himself built) As if they should no longer be seen together. This is why I am more and more skeptical about the possibility of a TLSP3, as if they had gone "too far" (and I'm not just talking about "milex") that saddens me, in done there I need to be reassured haha! Sorry for this rambling but I really appreciate your point of view and your analyzes ;)

first of all, thank you anon for your kind words, i really appreciate them!! <3 and don't worry about ramblings as you must know that it's all i do when answering an ask and it's what i'm gonna do now 😂

yeah, it is is saddening (and sometimes concerning) that we basically never see them together nowadays, but i think that if they were actually trying their hardest to hide then we wouldn't have spotted them at the scott walker tribute concert for example, or at that party or whatever where miles is in the background (where they both knew they could be photographed together at any time), or miles wouldn't have said many times that alex goes over to his place or they have dinner and such, or alex wouldn't have asked miles to support them in ireland (and the fact that these were the last shows... of course he wanted to end it with a bang -this could be interpreted in more ways than one-), etc. i thought that the hug in london was very very sweet and so intimate, and even the one in ireland in the dark was cute (the lack of sntm was weird), not to mention alex singing to and pointing at miles so unashamedly (c'mon, he must've known people would figure it out but didn't care). zackery's wedding was a weird one as they were seated apart from each other, but there is no way that they didn't talk to each other - there just isn't any evidence.

i know there are people who say that this is done deliberately by alex's pr team and because they saw the effects of the eycte tour and don't want people to start going crazy over them and ignore louise in the meantime and get the rumours starting about his sexuality... i'm not sure whether to believe this or not. it seems a bit too far-fetched, but who knows 🤷‍♀️ i wouldn't be too surprised it was at least a little true.

speaking of evidence, we know how hard louise tries to show off and exploits her boyfriend and how silly it all looks in the end... to me, miles not posting about alex just means that what they have is reserved for them and them only. the pictures miles has in his phone with/of alex are just theirs, their memories are just theirs, whenever they hang out and the moments they share are just theirs - and this is so important. love, in whatever form, shouldn't be used as a tool to make others jealous or to post in order to gain likes or get people talking - it should be something more private, more precious, something to share between the two of you that is yours only - this should be enough for happiness. maybe after eycte and the fans' reactions they decided to keep their relationship and their private life a little more private. besides, it was always the girlfriends that posted alex a lot and not miles, and i'm not sure he wasn't too big of a fan of that, given... well, everything we know about him, and this interview from 2016:

Like Chung, Bagley has been known to post a lot of pictures of herself looking impossibly attractive on Instagram. There she is posing with her dog, posing naked in the bath … but never, as far as I can tell, posing with Turner. Is that because he’d rather not be there? “I don’t recall submitting that request, but I’m not sorry about it if I’m not on there.”

i think that miles is just simply respecting what he knows about alex and his dislike of social media, and he knows that posting photos with alex would only result in getting more likes than usual and people saying that he's profiting off of his fame. alex and their relationship means more to him than a few likes and reposts.

Recently, I have gotten into writing fanfic, and while it is not the best and I would still prefer someone else to write it, there is a weird satisfaction in reading a story that goes exactly as you think.

when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?

I have been very excited since it was announced. I'm Nanon's fan from The Gifted, and to see him suddenly accept a BL role is a big, pleasant surprise. Bad Buddy is probably the first thing I've watched live in years, and it's also the first thing I've rewatched even before it ended. The first (and only) thing that got me to watch the reaction clip too. I've been hooked since the first episode. Each small expression Pran makes has me in chokehold.

I feel like my answer changes each day. Let's say Ep. 3 for today. PatPran sneaking around is cute, the comedy is exactly to my test, and Pran's face that shows in this episode is doing something to my heart.

Favourite scene/s

The scene that I feel is most memorable is the one after the music contest. Yes, the "ma ni di" scene—I don't think I have to tell you why.

The first time I see the rooftop scene, I don't know what I feel. After that scene, I felt like crying. It's an impactful scene for sure.

The scene where Pat and Pran go to market together is definitely one of my fav.

I love Pran's face in the scene where he gets ขนมจีบ(Dumplings?) and a note from his mystery admirer. I keep rewatching that.

Every lighthearted moment between Pran and Wai. I do think Pran shouldn't let Wai get away from being a bad friend, but other than that, I love them together.

The ending scene felt extremely nice.

One thing you would change about the show if you could

I would like to know more about Pran and Wai's relationship. Nanon said that for him, it makes sense that Pran would be that pushover (?) when it's Wai, and I really want that piece of information.

I'm grateful for anyone who makes any type of fanwork, but my favorite type of fanwork is definitely fanfic. I think "When did all my friends become so loud?" by fangurks is my fav bbs fic.

It's not that in line with PatPran's story, but I feel like Pran probably vibed with it before Pat cleared things up between them.

Honestly, this just breaks my heart. Like, what’s the point of all this fakeness? He clearly wants to be a household name for serious roles, but at what cost? Why does his agency or manager think a fake relationship is the way to go? He’d get nominations even if he were single—or even if he was a playboy like Leonardo DiCaprio, who’s a known playboy yet still a household name!

It’s so frustrating to see him drinking more and looking increasingly depressed. I just hope he’s okay. This whole PR game seems to be taking a toll on him, and it’s like no one is really looking out for his well-being. xoxo, M.

It’s truly awful and I’m not prepared for this, it’s just deteriorating Sebastian. He won’t be the same after this relationship, trust me. He’s destroying himself.

I get it, people change, but the fact is he literally was always a dorky, kind, funny, gentleman of an actor. It truly pains me to even see that he’s changing.

He used to speak very kindly of NYC, saying: “I can’t even dream of leaving New York”. But all of a sudden, after 7 relationships, he suddenly found this woman and decided to change his WHOLE persona?! Bullshit.

It’s body language, people are attacking me for believing this already. I just joined last night? They’re so quick to judge. They’ll immediately just assume he’s happy and that she’s a good person. They’ll refuse multiple times to look at proof of her being a terrible person. I told them she’s a problematic Zionist and they said: “I know she posted that, but she’s a good person for even caring about both sides! She makes sure to include the people that have passed in Israel as well.” Like what?! If they ACTUALLY looked at proof, they’d see the Israel people that “passed” were actually alive, hopefully. Then they claim: “you don’t actually support Palestine, you just dislike her.”

Don’t tell me MY beliefs and opinions based on the anger that YOU have for me listing facts that were proven. They’re like little 3 year olds reaching for a cookie jar that’s on a shelf. It’s just not gonna happen

There’s so much proof that literally states she’s a terrible person and has this bad influence on Sebastian and people take it as she’s just a “funny” and “kind” person.

She’s 40 years old and I’m sure she’s competent enough to understand the hateful/problematic things she’s done on PURPOSE.
