Also, they really thought I'd give a fuck about any of this while they're quietly eviscerating Ferelden off-screen.

obligatory I-finished-a-video-game-summary
...I mean I don’t know if I really “finished” ME:Andromeda. I finished the main quest but i have a shitton of quests (including two companion and outpost quests lol) left so there’s still a lot to do.
No story spoilers, just general opinions.
We all know Andromeda got torn apart and shredded like hell by people, already before its release, and even more so afterwards. I... don’t think all the hate is really justified.
Andromeda definitely has technical issues, the animation IS awkward at points (though if you’re playing with 3fps in cutscenes you don’t really notice lol so I got nothing to complain about here, thanks PC) and I heard that even on better PCs there are performance issues? I can’t really say much about this though myself.
But the experience of playing the game itself? Absolutely fine. It’s a good game, a great game even in many regards (companion interaction anyone?), and I feel like a lot of the disappointment comes from people expecting a Shepard II protagonist and Mass Effect 4, instead of a new experience.
The beginning drags on for a while, it IS slow, but once you’re past a certain point after the first quest it quickly gives you the good old ME vibe. The soundtrack is okay, didn’t really blow me away like ME3′s soundtrack but it was atmospheric enough. The gameplay is also fine, though pretty easy for most parts when you play on default (”normal”) difficulty. But well that’s what different difficulty settings are there for, and tastes are different in that regard.
I think Andromeda’s biggest strength lies in details. Reading all the e-mails or the message board of  the tempest, and listening to companion banter was just super fun and interesting. In general the companions are really lovely and in my opinion don’t have to hide anything in comparison to the old trilogy’s companions.
I don’t really want to talk about the story itself (yet?), since there’s still stuff I haven’t done yet and I need some distance to judge the overall happenings. So far I’m feeling pretty much.. neutral towards it. But we’ll see.
Overall I think Andromeda is a good game that I personally... prefer over ME1 and perhaps even ME2? It doesn’t beat ME3 for me though I have to say. Though then again it’s really difficult to tear the trilogy apart like this haha. Whatever.
Oh and also..... thanks @ bioware for making vehicle controls bearable. I never want that Mako experience ever again. Never. Ever.
