sure, there's been a comic idea that ive been throwing around since 2019. it'll be stuck in the planning stage forever it seems, but it's nice to think about

for non-original works though i really want to try and roughly storyboard all of the revues from arcana arcadia

thank youuu everyone loves an evil man until they get one and suddenly he's their canceled wife. or a doe eyed twink. or an overgrown teenager. anything but the actually interesting version of himself presented in the source material. but i digress imo armand absolutely loves louis he's so. his hunger is bottomless and he pours all of it into louis and by god will he ensure louis takes it. without complaint too we wouldn't want to get hysterical now would we dear not in this already fragile state. anyway i do think the choices armand makes in no pain are incredible (scarily straightforward) foreshadowing for the latter half of s2. like base conditions and consequences 1. he wants a relationship with louis on his own terms (on coven terms he set) or not at all; 2. he expects louis to make the necessary unquestioning sacrifices for acceptance and for their romance--first his freedom, then claudia; 3. and in the absence of this sacrifice he kills him/possesses him completely when that fails--e3 ends with armand deciding not to kill him but instead have sex with him. and the trial's ordeal ends with their eternal companionship built on armand's lie . othello had to kill desdemona bc if she could betray her father to marry him she could betray him to sleep w someone else etc it's all about making sure the wife knows her place

in dubai he's definitely a hundred percent in love w louis + having been shown their bedroom i don't subscribe to the bed death theories. but imo louis doesn't have the breadth of choice to ever meaningfully reciprocate. his love is a small box....it's all carefully curated to ensure he appears louis' only option and his best chance at enduring vampirism + the sickness of living without claudia. in his mind he keeps louis because he loves louis. he keeps louis because he wants complete control over his own illusion of servitude. he keeps louis bc he's earned the right to louis + his companionship

i do genuinely think his obsession w lestat is different entirely; armand respects lestat too much to ever love him the way he loves louis. man to man lmao.....he knows lestat can't be possessed the way louis can and his envy is only amplified by louis' love for him. i also do think in his eyes he just vibes w louis better (while in her eyes well. armand voice your wife is counting down your thrusts) while his relationship with lestat 1. was primarily antagonistic 2. was edited to fit the narrative of his powerlessness + being wronged by him in order to appeal to louis' sympathies 3. eventually became about louis' love and louis' choices . yay

FR bro just has a sun room with giant cushions around a big, fancy, bedazzled golden hookah and he actually loves laying on there under the sun like a cat, drinking and smoking. It's very rare that he actually indulges in it for no reason, it's usually accompanied by either a mental breakdown or a meeting with someone he wants to be fuzzy-brained and easier to manipulate

Hi! Thank you for the facts. It's so cool that emeralds change color based on how the lights hit them!! I'm frothing at the mouth for this information.

Here are my fun bird facts: for one, most birds don't sleep in a nest year round! Supposedly, they only sleep in nests when they're protecting a clutch of eggs. Otherwise they just kinda park themselves on a branch and chill.

As well, birds have a split vocal chord that lets them make two notes at once when they sing! That's so cool in my opinion. I never realized when listening to bird songs that sometimes they hit two notes at the same time.

Final cool fact - black capped chickadees can walk upside down on certain trees?? I only know this from observation, I've watched them just hang on by their feet on the underside of their branch. They're either buff enough, small enough, or both for that to work.

Hihihi! Its me again, late once again with an update! (Guy in humanities class that has other guy who looks like misha lol)

Date went really well. Like. Really well. We got dinner and laughed a lot and ended up watching the sun set by one of pond/fountain things on campus.

It was a dream and ive been in shock all day. (And im ignoring the fact that i have so many bug bites rn) We even did one of those adorable finger heart phone backgrounds with fhe sunset.

We also decided to start offically going out. Im still shaking!! Thank you for fhe positive vibes. It was really nice of you to let me share this experience with you!

First, let me just say that this IF is one of my favorites! I am so excited for the new chapters to come! 💜 Second, a question because I am curious and Grayson in particular is ripe full of character development potential; I love him. First a tiny bit of background to get to my question though:

Years ago, when I had a crush on a friend super hard, what happened to me was that I fell for the *image* he gave off; in reality he was an ass and used me as a second choice, and when I realized this I noped super hard.

Thinking of Grayson made me wonder if he is stuck on an idealized version of MC, especially with them being gone for so long D: Do we get a chance to express our worries to him about that? Last thing I want to do is hurt him more— he is so sweet and deserves the best!

i've never actually thought about it before but it's a pretty good question.

grayson knows the mc better than anyone else so his version of them is the real thing but that doesn't mean they'll stay that way. gray definitely isn't the same person and mc wont be the same for very long either; he's had the time to grow and change whereas the mc (in their mind) has all of a sudden been thrust into a future they don't know how to operate in.

i think it would fair for them to express that worry to all of the ros, not just gray - that they (the ros) still perhaps view the mc as the person they remember them to be when they're not anymore.

A How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?

The titles of both of my longfics come from some writing by Albert Camus. I came across it when I was in high school and it kind of resonated with me. Now I really find it appropriate for Dahlia.

R Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

There are so many different writers here within the TES fanfic community who have been supportive and pushed me to continue doing what I am doing, and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am. So, thank you friends. (Yes, this does include you. No, I will not take criticism.) As for like writing influences…your guess is as good as mine. I’m just out here writing alphabet soup.

Mmmmm…I like a good enemies to lovers as much as anyone as well as a good friends to lovers. Idk. Maybe I am just a lover.

Mmmmmm…idk man. I would try pretty much anything once, but I don’t think I have anything per se that I am chomping on the bit to write. Maybe some angsty Ralof/Hadvar. I mean, I definitely background shipped them in In the Midst of Winter until...well, you know, but I didn't really write them.

For the resurrect psycast? I assume it wouldn't work since it goes out of its way to specify "natural finger" in the description of the ability.

So only ten resurrections per un-cyborg-ified psycaster, I think, unless one of their friends has the "regrow limbs" psycast, which someone pointed out in the comments on the poll post.

I've never really used the Vanilla Expanded psycasts before, though, so I don't know. Perhaps attempting psycasts with bionics and stuff is something I could experiment with! :D

One of my favorite bits about mi1 is that the initial team is half women, something that never occurs ever again. but I also think it’s sweet and I like that ethan has a girl squad especially because the later movies love to make up a woman with the exact same problem that Ethan has in that movie. It’s great!

somehow i never actually answered this but it's an excellent point and im thinking about it. yes I also love the MI1 team dearly and I'm grateful to mcq for steering us back in that direction (it seems) finally for dr2. and MI1 generally has some really fun women, max is so much of what makes MI1 great, so is Claire IMO. I have a complicated relationship with the way MI1 condemns Claire morally, which is a topic for another post, and weakens the MI1 themes to me as well as my overall feeling about how MI1 treats its women.

one thing MI does really well as a rule is giving ethan thematic parallels with the women he's paired with, making them a narrative foil instead of (or as well as) a love interest. Claire/Ethan parallels are essential to MI1 working as well as it does. Nyah/Ethan parallels are what save MI2 in my estimation. Julia/Ethan parallels are the weakest, and tbh i blame JJ Abrams for that, it's more of a situation where Julia is a conduit for Ethan's arc which...it makes sense given how much shit he's projecting on her but I would like it if she had a "reality" that resisted the "fantasy" and made her more of a thematic partner to Ethan. Maybe she's using Ethan as an escape too, maybe she needs Ethan to fill some thematically relevant emotional wound, anything that would center her mental state more in the movie, JJ. anyway moving on--jane/Ethan! Jane is not a love interest at all but she's a massively interesting narrative foil! Ilsa/Ethan is fascinating, Ilsa's arc has so many echoes of MI2, MI3 era Ethan. Ilsa incorporates Ethan's showmanship, his physicality, his earnestness, while still having her own "code." She's a killer, she's a fighter, and she is way less passive than Ethan in reaction to getting hurt. fucking Alanna/Ethan is a whole can of worms that i think about no joke every single fucking day recently but in a phrase alanna embodies Ethan's corruption in MI1 that ethan has been running from and hiding from everyone for a very long time now. And she's a strong parallel with MI1 Ethan and i would argue Max and Claire, the corrupt power-hungry women. Grace/Ethan, Grace embodies the criminal past Ethan is finally ready to accept as part of him, and her arc of being able to make the radical choice to protect others is the culmination of the entire franchise. Anyway to get into the weeds a bit i have an issue with MI and it's that the women are young. Angela Bassett is a nice exception in Fallout but her role is minor and administrative. I just wish Ethan had a powerful narrative foil that was his age. He's survived so much, he's one of the only people who's lived as long as he has in this business, and I think it would be really cool for him to be interacting with another player in the field, where you feel their age and the weight and power of it, and have that character be a woman. Idk this is why in my unrealistic fantasies claire survived mi1 to replace kittridge's role in DR1, obviously that's not in the control of mcq or anyone but it would just be so cool. Anyway that's my only beef with MI's treatment of its female characters, which is generally so much better than I normally see. I get so irritated when movies try to make me invested in a relationship based on attraction rather than a thematic connection between the characters, and part of that is that I've been spoiled by MI, where female characters play such meaty roles and have their own arcs alongside and in parallel/conflict with ethan.
