i've seen some people (mainly techno/quackity fans from the alliances) interested in getting into etho content after the polls, but it can be a little daunting when the guy's been making videos semi-consistently for over a decade, so here's your ✨ not definitive ✨ guide to Watching Ethoslab!

for starters: etho's videos can get a bit technical! he's a redstoner and is known for making lots of crazy stuff, like the original hopper clock design, a working tamagotchi, and a massive storage system that uses hexadecimal to sort and pull items.

if you're familiar with the life series, that's arguably where you'll get the most "character"/"lore" content from etho! he's been in all three seasons, starting with 3rd life. this is also where he shows off his pvp, and though it isn't as obvious in his own pov, you get to see everyone else being really intimidated and hyping up his mysterious guy persona... while he's busy crying over his stuff getting burnt.

however, if you want to start with some regular single player content, his lp series has been going for over a decade! if you're a big fan of older, nostalgic vids and can deal with him being a bit awkward, his season 1 is just over 100 episodes and imo is still very fun to watch today. if you're less into that, it can be intimidating to try and pick up a series with nearly 600 episodes, so you might want to start with his most recent world tour! it's a long one, but it summarises all the work he's done so far, and there's only 25 episodes after that which is a lot more manageable! (and then you can go back and watch the rest ^_^)

his current hermitcraft series is only 9 episodes long so it's pretty accessible, though he does start halfway through the season (and purposefully exiles himself across the world with no tools or help until he can beat a raid single-handed. because. jeez.) if you're looking for a more rounded experience though, his season 7 is where i personally started with etho content and is still one of his best series yet! he gets plenty involved with the overarching "story" of S7 too, so it's a great jump-off point if you're just interested in HC in general.

other iconic etho videos and series include

- king of the ladder, a fan favourite from his time on mindcrack (the series which, dare i say, made him the og mcytblr sexyman- seriously, look into nebtho and you'll see what i mean)

- team canada escape the nether, for a quick look into his dynamic with pause and beef, two other mindcrackers he collabs with a lot

- (and if you like that and want more, team canada's sky factory)

overall, etho is a very chill guy to watch.. most of the time.. and i would highly recommend him to basically anyone who likes mcyt. he's your fave's fave, a pillar of the community, but also a guy just Doing His Thing, and even after a decade he's still finding new ways to improve and change his content... so even if i haven't convinced you to give him a try, hopefully i'll still have convinced you to give him a vote since he's about ~30 votes behind at the time of posting this ;)

Fanzine Theme Poll #1

Hey there, Kääryleet!

We all know that the zine will be about Käärijä (obviously), but like we've mentioned before, there are still a lot of avenues to go down within this fandom when it comes to its creativity.

So, to make sure we're all on the same page (hehe) when it comes to submissions, applications, and even the title, we're going to do a couple of polls to figure out what everyone would like the theme to be.

Without further ado, here's the first round poll:

Interestingly enough, this whole idea started with an offhanded suggestion to start a zine revolving around Jere wearing an assortment of hats! Naturally, we had to include it as an option, since it got the ball rolling on this whole project in the first place.

What we call the "Extended Käärijä Universe" refers to the other people that are involved in the craziness/partiness that is Käärijä. This includes (but isn't limited to): Häärijä, Allu, Jukka, Jaako, the Dancers, etc.

The final option of the poll is open to anyone who might have an interesting suggestion regarding the theme. In the second round, we will look through any and all suggestions and nominate a few for consideration in the vote.

We'll let this marinate for a week so that we can maximize visibility, as well as collect as many suggestions as you can provide. A post will be made with the results, as well as some glimpses into some of the suggestions we receive.

Final results! Thank you to everyone who participated. I didn't think I'd get that many votes on it. I know 25 isn't a lot but it's more than I could have ever expected. And seeing as I only got one no, and 20 yesses, I guess I'll have to come up with a tag for her at some point.

I'll talk about her more as time goes on, outside of her story. So if you're interested I hope you stick around. And for those unsure, I hope you'll take a look and get enough information for you to decide.

A woman from the broken province of Cyrodiil flees home after being disgraced from her family of lower noble status. She can no longer face them, she can't take the way they look at her and talk to her now. She heads north and unintentionally crosses the border into Skyrim, but by the time she realizes, it's too late. She's on a prisoner's cart with the leader of the rebellion ravaging the province and wasting valuable resources. They're on their way to an execution. After surviving the dragon attack that saves her life and helping a few people, she learns she is Dragonborn. A mortal with the ability to speak like the dragons and project her voice into a weapon. Along her journey to ridding the world of dragons, she gets cold feet and abandons her position as the savior of the world. She gets sucked into a scheme while trying to look for someone she had met previously, and joins the infamous guild of thieves that seems to have lost their spark, disgraced in their own way. She doesn't always like committing crimes, but these people look after each other, and what more could she hope for after what happened back home? All is well until a betrayal occurs, she's left for dead and she spooks like a wild deer, choosing to let everyone in the guild believe she's dead and she disappears. She wants to help people again, but doesn't trust the woman that was helping her destroy the dragons, so she looks into why a 10 year old boy would be summoning the all but eradicated Dark Brotherhood- the guild of assassins serving the Dread Father Sithis. The child begs her to kill the woman in charge of an orphanage. She knows that the Dark Brotherhood is either no longer a thing, or being very unprofessional by leaving this boy unanswered for a few months, so she takes it upon herself to help him out. After killing the orphanage owner, she gets kidnapped by the leader of what's left of the assassins guild. The leader promises her she can leave alive as long as she pays back her debt to them, and when she does, she is asked to join her little family. The woman is free to go and takes up the leader's offer, if only to have a family again. Killing people would be more of a means to an end, as what she really craved was a family. Another betrayal, but this time she decides she's done running, she fixes as much as she can from the fallout of this betrayal and decides she has to return to the thieves guild and stop the man who betrayed her from hurting the others. But she has some preparations to make before she shows her face there again.

Her name is Serelynn.

I have been playing a Skyrim character that I'm using to write a story with. I have had to change some in game events and dialogue to make it all fit right and sound better. Right now I'm nearing the end of what I planned and might go further after the planned story closes, but I also might not, the current stopping point is after she becomes the leader of the thieves guild. I have most of it written down, but it will need to go through a few editing sessions to make it all make more sense and sound better and whatever else. Also, as it stands right now, I skipped ahead in my writing to a little later in the main questline because trying to write the intro to the game up until kynesgrove felt so tedious and clunky to me. I might go back and write it in anyway. But for now, I want to know if anyone is interested in this story. There's a lot of details I left out, or perhaps I even added too much detail to my outline, but I figure an overall idea of certain story beats would help people decide if they like her or not.

As always, I would like to ask that this gets reblogged so more people will see it, but no pressure. I've been working on this for a long time now, and I hope people will be interested so I can share it instead of just keeping it to myself.

Do you think there is astroturfing around disney properties?

When Ant-man 3 was release, everyone was shitting on the movie but praised Jonathan Majors's performance but after the conviction I keep seeing statements like 'his acting was clownish', 'he was the worst part of Loki' etc.

You know since the recent poll about Loki, as of now 57.3% has passed on him,even after release of season 2 which was trending for a while got me thinking . Like, what happened ? Wasn't it the most watched show?

I really hated what happened to him so much that seeing him makes me eyeroll. My favourite MCU character ruined since ragnorak.

If Tom says he didn't like the show, would the opinion on it change?

So, first of all, thank you for teaching me a new word. For everyone else who -like me- didn’t know the exact meaning of “astroturfing”:

But I think the whole situation is complex.

1) i absolutly think that Disney has a team that does use shady methods to make the public opinion appear better than it actually is. I think it was @iamnmbr3 who noticed that some 5 star reviews on major rating sites looked like they were bot-generated (but it was quite some time ago. I linked the article in my master post). Twitter (now X) has so many bots on it and the platform allows them to tilt polls massively. So, yeah, I agree. But. I don’t think that’s necessarily the biggest influence on the public opinion.

2) I assume this is the poll you refer to. It doesn’t distinguish between series Loki, TR Loki, and OG Loki which might have biased the outcome in a negative way. I know some hardcore og Loki fans who did not vote at all, because they LOVE og Loki, but cannot give series Loki a “smash”. Others voted “pass” because the pic is of TR Loki which is still a turn-off for some. I assume that some series Loki fans might vote “pass” because there are many that never liked Loki before the show.

3) there are different types of fans. The hardcore fans stay, but during the airing a lot of casual fans come rushing in, consume, and eventually leave. These people are often very enthusiastic, sometimes even aggressively positive. by now they will have wandered further, leaving only the hardcore fans behind (old and new ones).

4) a lot of people loved the SHOW but not LOKI. I see these types of fans mostly on Reddit. They like the time travel, or kang, or the side characters or just the mcu. Those as well won’t care for Loki or even vote on polls around here.

And then there is also this trend to attack people for liking stuff produced by people who are in any way problematic. Majors trial made all those people drop him like a hot potato. Perhaps some are now trying to “atone” for saying good things about Majors by roasting him? Perhaps the people who never liked him to begin with feel now it’s “safe” to publicly criticize him, since his supporters must fear being attacked for “supporting a domestic abuser”.

All in all, I deeply agree with you on the series being very bad for Loki (as in “destroying any chance for a satisfying conclusion to his arc, his feelings about the adoption, and the time with Thanos”) and I fear it might also be bad for both Tom and the MCU (as in “the public interest is going down and while the show WAS praised widely it still contributed to the downfall instead of generating or reviving interest”).

And yeah, I have a post on how successful the show was in preparation. 🙈 sorry for being so extremely slow with that one. I prefer focusing on writing fanfics, these days. 🙂 OG Loki is alive in our fics, dear anon. No one can take him away from us! ����

The results of the best K3 song bracket are known!

And the winner is... Oya lélé!!!

Tele-Romeo finished second and Alle Kleuren ended up in the third place. Hart verloren just fell out of the top 3 and ended up in fourth place.

And with this the competition is over, I posted the bracket first on March 22nd and the first polls the day after. That means it took over 3 months to determine the very best K3 song of all 4 generations. I had great fun seeing people campaigning for their favourite songs in the notes, why they think a certain song is better and occasionally sharing stories of times they performed one of these songs as a kid, so thanks to everyone who voted and/or reblogged some polls, some comments really made my day and I hope this tournament reminded you of some old songs or introduced you to some new ones.

Speaking of which, my next plans are to run 3 more tournaments to determine the best song of each non-og generation, because the og was (kinda understandably) overrepresented in this tournament and I thought it might be fun to give the other 3 formations a chance and some other people also liked this idea when I polled people a few weeks ago. So, ehm, keep posted for that I guess. It won't start immediately, because I am kinda busy atm and I need to figure out some logistics for the kkj generation (does de revolutie count as an og song or a kkj song??), so you might see me outsourcing some decisions through polls in the coming weeks.

Finally, now that I have your attention, I've been running a 2-year campaign to get K3 in the NPO radio 2 top 2000, and specifically Oya lélé and since Oya lélé did actually win this, I think I might be able to convince you to vote for Oya lélé as the K3 song representation of the top 2000, so if you would please consider voting for Oya lélé in 5 months and if possible try to convince other people to do so too, you would make me very happy. (Also because I do not have other social media so I can only campaign for it here)

TS Outfit Madness: Guidelines & Contest

Thank you to everyone who participated in #tsmusicvideomadness and #tsredcarpetmadness! I'm really excited to share the next tournament I have planned will launch NOON EST on Friday, June 7th: #tsoutfitmadness. This will be a tournament of Taylor's best performance looks from tours, award shows, and miscellaneous performances. I've been doing a ton of research to find both the looks and images over the past month. Due to the sheer amount of looks I've found, I won't be releasing my usual bracket because there are simply too many.

If anyone has a certain performance look they would like to be included, please list them in the replies or send me a message, so I can ensure they are included.

The rules for this tournament are simple:

Starting Friday, June 7th, I will release a matchup of four performance looks worn by Taylor (with images provided) to vote on. The winning look will then move on to thenext round. The polls will be posted each day at noon EST and voting will remain open for 24 hours.

Different variations of the same look will be in polls together to determine the favourite. For example, a single poll will determine the favourite colour variation of the OG 1989 looks: pink, orange, green, or blue.

The YTR poll has concluded (thank you to everyone who voted btw!) with character designs in the lead, so I’ve decided to start with a design sheet for Ryoko :) This is my first time doing something like this, so I hope it doesn’t look too janky hehe…

My idea was to have slight design changes for her in chapter 3 depending on the route taken! I’ve called them the rose/violet routes instead of logic/emotion because…literally just because I like flowers and think they’re neat LOL.

For her regular design, I wanted to keep it mostly the same. The only major change is that I’ve given her a black skirt instead of a pink one (because seriously, what the hell is Sonobeno thinking with these uniforms?). I also gave her a small white hairclip just to have something to make her design stand out more.

For the route specific designs, something you’ll notice is that she gains a new hair accessory. This is cause I was thinking about the one scene in Chapter 3 where Sara stumbles across the schoolbag with Joe’s dog keychain in it…and realized there wasn’t really an equivalent item for Ryoko and Sara. So ultimately, I decided on making it Sara’s hairtie (which I incorporated the OG Sonobeno skirt design into). In the Violet route, Ryoko keeps the hairtie for herself, and in the Rose route she gives it to Kai (who in turn gives her his ribbon).

I also wanted to do different stuff with her blazer, so Rose route Ryoko has it tied around the waist (i thought this created a more open, vulnerable look) and Violet route Ryoko has it on, but unbuttoned (technically more improper than having it buttoned, but I feel like it still has a proper, confident look about it?) (I definitely wanted her design to feel reminiscent of Sara…which has narrative reasons as well)

Finally, Rose route Ryoko has bandages wrapped around her hand. This is because in the Rose route (AKA route where Shin lives) he decides to be a bit *silly (*actively malicious) and set up a fake Sara AI (like the fake Joe one in the logic route). But instead of passing out, Ryoko just. Punches the monitor. This is not good for her hand. So she gets it patched up in the medical office

Ok I lied actually one more thing. Because a lot of the participants in this AU don’t have official birthdays, I decided I wanted to give them unofficial birthdays as a treat :,) so Ryoko’s is August 21!

favorite ship/pairing: while reading i did ship lymond with each and every one of his boytoys which was very entertaining but i wouldn't actually like any of these relationships to be endgame. i firmly believe lymond is bisexual, aromantic and non-monogamous, therefore the only person i would want him to "end up with" is marthe - not as a slash ship but as in lymond and marthe, both in drag, ride into the sunset together to cause chaos and mayhem✨

favorite arc/episode/scene: the hume castle shebacle from book one is my platonic ideal of a fictional experience. just thinking about don luis fernando de cordoba y avila with his "long, exquisite legs" and his perfecto scottish is enough to raise my mood for the rest of the day😁

something i love about this series: tbh the thing i love the most is lymond to the point that i'm afraid to try dunnett's other books bc there will be no lymond in them. however, i will still read them sooner or later bc my second favorite thing about the lymond chronicles is dunnett's witty but sophisticated prose which i'm sure i will find in abundance in her other works

favorite arc/episode/scene: aftg is full of amazing scenes, both quiet and spectacular, but if i have to pick just one i'm gonna go with the first riko roast bc fun fact: i actually abandoned tfc halfway through the first time i tried to read it bc i just didn't know what to do with it - but then i decided to give it a second chance and the riko roast was the scene where i finally comprehended and internalized the chaotic but rebellious vibe of aftg. that's why i never dnf books - you never know which weird selfpub sports anime might become your all time favorite story!

something i love about this series: the way it depicts the relations between the society and people who are treated like outsiders due to their trauma - it always sides with the latter! exemplified by how the team needs andrew and so they have to put up with his little quirks and find ways of communication - instead of him making himself act more normal and agreeable in order to fit in. which i think is pretty much the status quo of writing about trauma so aftg feels very radical in that sense

character i think is overrated: never have i ever understood why everyone insists on resurrecting auguste. he dead! and not that interesting in any case😒

favorite ship/pairing: damen/laurent, since their love is the whole point of the series, but i will say for me it's more like. i'm obsessed with laurent and so i like that damen gets obsessed with him too and falls in love with him bc that's what laurent deserves. however i do not actually like damen nor do i like the final jump from enemies to lovers in the second half of book 3 soooo yeah. many caveats🤷‍♀️

favorite arc/episode/scene: laurent's duel with govart. listen, i'm a simple girl, i love me some competence porn and power fantasies with swords. also! laurent calling out aimeric for all the bad things he secretly believes about himself which leads to aimeric's suicide. that's some fucked up shit, love it👀

something i love about this series: the witty, backhanded, at times scathing exchanges which i started calling pacatesque dialogue upon encountering it in other books (of primarily australian sff authors who are personally acquainted with pacat, it's a whole thing). i know other booklr girlies like to talk about themes and motifs and whatnot but for me all of that is vastly inferior to lines like "tell my uncle boykiller etc etc". i think i just have lots of bottled up bitchiness inside me and like to live vicariously through characters who can vocalize it in such a brutal yet elegant fashion

favorite character: tyrion lannister. lol at this point you can see a pattern: if he's shrewd, traumatized and blonde you can safely bet he's on my blorbo shelf😅

character i think is underrated: i'm gonna go with doran martell. he represents one of my favorite character archetypes - someone who is seen as a simpleton and a pushover but has actually been scheming and masterminding stuff all along. "oberyn was ever the viper. i was the grass. who fears to walk upon the grass? but it is the grass that hides the viper" - is actually one of my favorite quotes from the series. comparing book doran to show doran one can see how he's sort of emblematic for how the show butchered the dorne plotline😒

character i think is overrated: i did like sansa's journey in the books but they end just on the cusp of her turning from a pawn into one of the most capable and dangerous players on the board - something she however hasn't become, not yet. so i think the hype she gets in the fandom, largely based on the show which skipped a lot of steps in her character arc and made her a very basic girlboss, is somewhat undeserved🤷‍♀️

favorite ship/pairing: i definitely feel a certain kind of way about jaime & brienne but idk if i ship them in the proper sense of the word. their developing relationship is probably the most compelling in the series and some of its aspects are very personal for me as a weird looking ace girl, among other things, so i don't think i want them to become a *couple*. but i do want them to become *something*. if they survive, that is😬

favorite arc/episode/scene: tyrion's trial is one of the most excruciating and heart-wrenching yet dramatic scenes i've ever experienced. i have to admit i remember it better from the show bc that was just Peak Television and peter dinklage's acting?? unparalleled. a scene so epic it made me cry every time i watched it. just thinking about it gives me chills🫨

something i love about this series: i've spent an ungodly amount of time thinking about what makes asoiaf superior to other fantasy series and the character work and complex morality are certainly up there but the one thing that speaks to me personally and which i struggle to find elsewhere is something i call the slytherclaw ethos. normally the characters of western sff are rewarded by the narrative for being brave, kind, other boring gryffinpuff things, regardless of whether they could've *realistically* prevailed thanks to those qualities alone. in the world of asoiaf one is instead rewarded for cunning and ambition - or at the very least it's clear a character will not get anywhere without learning how to play the game of thrones. this difference is at the core of the subversiveness asoiaf gets both praised and criticized for and, as someone who relates to characters who rely on their brain more than their heart and other muscles and would like to see them elevated above generic fantasy protags, i find this approach to storytelling in general and to sff specifically very appealing

Since this is our first time officially hosting Seblaine Week, we're doing things a bit differently: *dramatic pause followed by imaginary drumroll!*

NO PREVIOUS SEBLAINE WEEK THEMES ARE OFF THE TABLE!

Yes, you did read that correctly - we're allowing ALL previous themes!

For those new to the Fandom (hi, and welcome!), and also those OG and established Seblainers who just need a refresher, over the next week we'll be posting ALL previous themes used, so that you can make definitive and informed choices. We're also including an additional 23 themes that were narrow misses from the last 11 years of Seblaine Week voting polls. That will give you a total of 90 (Seblaine Week 2012 had no Free Day), themes to ponder over!

To this end, please DO NOT submit themes that are not posted over the next week! For a long time we mulled over the idea of allowing new theme ideas, but feel that the 67 previous themes plus the additional 23 that just narrowly missed being selected in their respective Seboaine Weeks, will give you plenty of scope to choose from and get the creative juices flowing. So get your thinking caps on, and start submitting!

You're free to submit as many of the previous themes as your hearts desire, but please send them in bulk in one message rather than individually. We're aware that some people felt they didn’t have enough notice to work on anything for Seblainintine's Weekend 2023 and are very sorry about that. Since we don't want to make the same mistake again, we're giving you exactly three months' notice of the dates this time. Hopefully, that gives everyone adequate time to start planning.

To kick things off, the previous 13 themes used in Seblaine Week 2012 and Seblaine Week 2013 will be posted later today!

It was pretty close, but I'm glad the results turned out as they did! I was leaning towards making him a griffin and this makes me happy. I know I won't regret making him a feline bird in the future, this is a nice load off my back!

Hello everyone, things aren't looking up for this Crisis Cutie. As if I didn't have enough stress in my daily life, I've recently encountered unforeseen issues with my desktop PC... After so much troubleshooting over the past week, I will have to buy new parts and practically build a new PC. 😔😔😔

I'm forced to use my not so great laptop for now. My postings on here are gonna be slower for now, until things are back to normal. Thanks everyone for their patience. I'm still working on Domestic AU fic series and the Dissidia Sephy/Darling NSFW headcanons. I'm also liking the requests/prompts in the inbox right now, so you guys rock. 💜💜💜

I'm currently brainstorming more HoS content so I'm curious to see what Sephys could use so more development (or who you guys just want to see more of), so please do vote in the poll to let me know what you think.
