Tf2 fans, how are we feeling about mythical creature aus. Personally i LOVE them and i have my own little artworks and ideas and i just adore them AUGHH,, i love being cringe,,, ramble/art below the cut

Backstory for this pic is Scout heard that Sniper's double his size and tried to prove he's tough enough to get him off the ground, which he somehow managed.

Ive got my own assigned creatures to all of the mercs like scout being a shark merman, soldier being a minotaur, spy being a betta fish merman, etc. etc. I might post about em more soon if anyone's even interested in this, but for now i'll list them in the tags :-)

Ive set up this whole backstory about how they're all together too,, the admin is just this crazy rich gorgon lady and, in exchange for providing them protection and money, gives em specialized work. She essentially pays off the humans to ignore the workforce she's collected/the rather strange jobs they do,,

The main crew pretty much just does the same old merc work from the comics. They arent necessarily "special" despite everything i just told you. Yes, theyre creatures of myth, but there's more than enough beasts on the administrator's force to take care of those other odd jobs you might expect a mythical creature to handle. They're the same old team but mythified i suppose

Tentaspy and vampire medic are pretty common examples of this type of media and i love em both to death, but i made different versions of them for this trope. i appreciate being able to make this weird, fun, cringy artwork for myself and i hope if you've read this far you like this type of stuff too

hey what do you guys think the tf2s would be if they were monsters? I like the idea of harpy sniper and vampire medic,, but there’s not a whole lot of other monster forms for the mercs.

(Besides the freaks of course but those invoke a primal fear in me)

My brain hasn’t shut up about this but… what about a TF2 “monsters” AU, i mean monsters as in mythology monsters or like urban monsters, even cryptids

By far i have this

Medic: harpy, maybe a crow/raven or dove based harpy

Pyro: some kind if small dragon cuz of the fire and that

Heavy: i was thinking in a minotaur but then i thought about something originally from Russia and well, i have no idea what could it be

Spy: a changeling or whatever it can change its appearance/shape

Solly: maybe a werewolf, i’m not really sure what else he could be, i need more ideas

Demo: again a minotaur, but it happens that i have the same problem of heavy here cuz i thought it should be a Scottish being and idk what could be

With Sniper, Scout and Engi… well i have no clue and i really need help with this cuz my brain is yelling for drawing them as this. I’ll be very glad if someone says their opinion

TF2 monster high au:

-Demo is a Ness-adjacent lake monster whose clan has had beef with the McNess clan for DECADES, lost his eye to a fisherman

-Zombie Soldier. He keeps the maggots in his brain as pets and toys around with witchcraft (ugh, so un-undead like)

-Heavy is a werebear. He insists werewolves are “leetle babies” and bears are much more intelligent than wolves anyhow

-Frankenmonster Engineer. All of his family are Frankenmonsters, but he’s probably the one that burns through limbs the fastest

-Pyro as a demon, sorry, “fire elemental” (still never takes the mask off). You don’t need a flamethrower when you ARE the flamethrower!

-Vampire sniper. Why do you think he pisses so much? He’s on an all-liquid diet. Raised by werewolves, so he favors his wolf form more

-Spy as a boogeyman- slinking around in the shadows, all that. He’s also specialized in shapeshifting and backstabbing.

-Medic is a harpy. A pigeon harpy, that is. Incredibly into mad science. Also plays around with occultism.

-Hyde monster Scout. That’s precisely why he’s Like That. “Vampires bite, werewolves howl, and, brother? I hurt people!”

-Yowie (Australian Bigfoot) Saxton Hale, because I love irony, and because, come on, have you looked at him?

-Werewolf Miss Pauling. Looks unassuming, but can and will fuck you up. Still uses guns a lot, even in full moons when she doesn’t need em

-Wraith administrator. She keeps herself alive by sucking the remaining lifeforce out of the mercs’ dead copies- everybody thinks it’s quirky

-The Mann brothers are human like normal, except for the Horseless Headless Horseman, who is, well, still a ghost

-Merasmus remains the same, absolutely the same, and might as well be a teacher at Monster High. It’s not 100% clear.

-Monster High as in the institution features as backstory for the mercs- they’ve all studied there at some point. Medic teaches there

-everything else is exactly the same

I have a few questions about your monster AU!!!

How did snipes and scout meet? And why did they continue to hang out? (And then kiss)

Does Demo chill with Sylvia in Selbyen and eat whatever fish is tossed to him?

How'd Spy and Scout's Ma meet? What got them to fall in love?

Does Medic know anything about the doctor he's copied?

What's Miss. Pauling? What's her role?

And what's the whole plot of this AU? Is it just TF2 but they're monsters? Is there a story for this???

id LOVE to answer your questions here we go this is probably gonna be long so warning!!! the freak writing this is very ill.

Sniper and Scout first meet on day one of the merc's meeting up to work at mann co! scout was the one particularly interested in making friends with Sniper because A. Scout is very uneducated on other monsters around the world and has only met other sea people from the Boston harbor so seeing a giant bird person, and B. Harpies are a species that tend to be very isolated and rare to see outside of their standard territory zones so to see one in a landlocked state is very very bizarre to say the least. Scout and Sniper hung out after battles and sniper was very excited to show scout his hideouts and good places for the view. however to get to said places scout needed to be carried by sniper, and scout was screaming and crying the entire way. They kiss a while after they meet but it's very sweet and romantic I prommy. ABSOLUTELY. Demo sees Sylvia for the first time and immediately stops fighting just so he can hang out with her. seal to seal communication, seal to seal friendship.

Spy and ma's meet up was yknow, traditional meet-cute with its weird side details that Ma didn't really pay mind to until it was revealed like "Why the fuck is he staring at the tank full of fish" and "wow the way they move is really really weird and wobbly do they have a limp" and once she figures it out shes like "oh yeah. makes sense." I think what made them fall in love was the sense of security they found in each other! plus i think the rest of Scout's brothers thought Spy was super cool so there weren't many issues. so yeah spy and ma just remade Shape of Water(2017) whoa who said that-

Medic knows a decent amount of knowledge of his copy, and he learned as much as he could from afar and even more once he took his copy's place. he knows a decent amount about his copy but not good with the little details.

Miss pauling is a moth person! She's very big (about 6,6 or 198cm) and usually flies around to get where she needs to be. Heres a doodle of her!

So far there isnt much of a plot! just tf2 with its silly little spin of monsters! I'm so glad yall like the au so much!

I used to (or possibly still ) have an obession with drawing one of my ocs has half bird harpy in a werewolf type of deal, but then I saw some ppl draw sniper as an owl and all the owl jokes n such and thinking "hey maybe I should jump in that train and see what ideas I can explore with that" idk looking at tf2 artists is giving my brain happy energy spazz, the tf2 brainrot is strong

Not really a Headcanon but I've got mythical creatures au on the mind,, we all know sniper would be a werewolf, and I could see scout being a faun , and medic would obviously be a harpy , but I'm rather unsure for everyone else, any ideas? -🎭

I don't know if you're looking for strictly mythical or if just. Fantasy. So I'll suggest both.

Fantasy:

I'm a cringe fail world of warcraft enjoyer (I know ☹️) and I think abt it sometimes. Tf2 wow.

I think heavy is. Orc. Ough. Maybe it's basic but ORC HEAVY

Spy is an elf but not a Tolkien elf where he's all pretty and long hair and he glows I mean like a little trickster elf. A sprite.

Engi is a dwarf because we love short kings who invent things.

Soldier is a wow goblin. If u aren't familiar with wow goblins they aren't like other goblins, they're basically methed up new yorkers who love bombs. They love screaming and blowing things up and they're very proud of where they come from so what im saying is soldier soldier soldier

Demo is a werewolf also I think. Maybe I'm basic. But also skinny scrawny pathetic wet beast werewolf sniper and his bestie, huge fuckass ripped one eyed wolf. That's my reasoning thank u

Pyro is a wraith. Hooded, faceless figure, walking around potentially haunted, causing suffering to those they see but who knows what goes on behind those cold black eyes? That's basically meet the pyro

TF2 Monster AU

I got the idea of Medic as a monster hunter and I just HAD to expand on that.

Scout: Harpy, specifically a Peregrine Falcon-inspired harpy for their incredible speeds when diving!

Soldier: Soldier strikes me as a hard-working Clydesdale-inspired Centaur.

Pyro: Humanoid Phoenix, for obvious reasons. Seems like a regular dude but can tap into their fiery power whenever they please, and they sure do please!

Demoman: I’m not quite sure, but I’m inclined to say Werewolf.

Heavy: Frankenstein creature, created by Medic of course.

Engineer: Some kind of faery, what I remember of the Tinker Bell films have led me to believe it would be fitting for him. :o)

Medic: Half-Demon Monster Hunter that keeps his heritage a secret from his fellow hunters.

Sniper: Medic’s half-Merman (the type that can go on land and develop oceanic traits in the water) monster hunter companion.

Spy: Changeling monster hunter, though more like a gun for hire for the monster community than someone who kills monsters for some kind of “righteous” reason. Joins Medic and Sniper to keep an eye on why they’re killing monsters, and later to expose their familial roots.

I had some troubles with what demo could be, and thanks to this i think i might make him a werewolf. Ficss with Demo!werewolf where quite nice!! And i felt that it really suited him for some reason, but at the same time someone said highland Minotaur and it just sounds so damn good. I may just doing both drawings of him

Sniper: there were suggest of, mothman, owlman, and the hercules stymphalian birds, tbh i like this idea at first but then i thought about his “human” form u know?? And to make sniper a single bird… is not the best. BUT!!, u know the mr hoots cosmetic?? What if mr hoots is a stymphalian birds instead of an owl and work as its rifle?? stymphalian birds are supposed to have a great aim, if im not wrong they shoot their feathers to their objective

Scout: suggestions of him as a satyr, i have also seen this but tbh i don’t really like it, i feel that it don’t actually fit scout, so still gotta search, i was thinking in some fast creature, having in mind he is the faster class in all the game

Engi: i got icarus, talos and dwarf suggest for Engi, i loved all, sadly i don’t know how to draw meca so a talus!Engi might not end up looking so pretty, but dwarf and icarus Engi??? I might end up drawing both

And sadly i might not be able to do the drawings as soon as i would like to, is exams week and then i gotta get a job cuz of personal reasons, if u want to draw this ideas then just do it!!, there is no problem with it!!!

so a friend of mine reminded me that sniper actually had a cosmetic owl head, consequently, im going to draw him as an owlman.
