Wanna talk a little bit about your favourite little guy?
Always! :-D
This is Helios, the world's most pathetic guy:
Tumblr media
A summary of his lore is under the cut.
He has no luck and is cursed with being my favorite OC ...which means I put him through The Horrors™ all the time. He is a small helicopter built for reconnaissance and his Earth alt mode would be an Airbus H135 (formerly known as the Eurocopter EC135).
There are two versions of him (actually, it's three but the first one has become irrelevant): one is the main character of my original Brave (Yuusha) story and the other is a side character in my little TF fan continuity, but he gets treated like a main character by pretty much everyone who knows about him.
His Brave version works for the Space Police Organization and it's his job to capture his former coworker Ironwing who has stolen secret files. After his brother died, he buried himself in his work to forget about the loneliness and misery if even for a while. Helios was given a new mission and a ragtag team of misfits to command. They had to hunt down Ironwing and his team, but that would prove a challenge.
In TF, he was Ambulon once. Then he crossed paths with Proteus and angered him on accident. As it turns out, the senator was so furious that he ordered him to be reframed. With his memories erased and spark planted into a new body, Helios of Polyhex was forced to work for Proteus as his in-house executioner, assassin, guard - if it sounds edgy: you name it, he has done it - and most importantly, Helios was his personal scapegoat.
When he first left the assembly line, he was told that Aegis was his brother (but they are not spark-related) and that if he didn't adhere to his employer's wishes, Aegis would have to suffer for it. However, Aegis was murdered and this made Helios realize that they were not related in any way, and yet he did not seize the opportunity to rid Cybertron of Proteus, nor did he flee.
If he had left, they would have found another poor mech to do his job and they would have ruined their life too.
And so he stayed.
Then the war broke out and Proteus and his subordinates left the planet before the situation escalated and they roamed the universe until one day Helios was sent down to a planet's surface to search for possible Energon substitution. While he was away, Decepticons attacked their ship and killed everyone on board, leaving him stranded on the alien planet which just happens to be Earth. A human rescue team found him and let him stay with them in exchange for his service as a rescue helicopter.
The thing is, he can't fly.
His original contract had a pointless "no flying during working hours" rule that prevented him from ever taking off (because he was always on duty). Due to underuse, the moving parts in his rotor hub become stuck and corrode which damages it beyond repair. No one has the necessary parts for a replacement and while Earth technology is advanced enough to replicate his hub, they are unable to connect it to his systems.
He helped them out in root mode instead.
One day, a neutral ship, the Stellar Observatory, landed nearby and its crew picked up Helios' signal, following it to the hangar he called his home and offered him to join them on their way back to Cybertron - where the war had just ended.
As their new pilot he finally has the chance to experience what it feels like to be respected and loved. And I ship him with Nightjet (the ship's head of security) and Ironwing (one of the Cybertronians who worked as enforcers for the Galactic Council). The three of them make a nice polycule. So soft. *sighs*
I think that's it for now.

Hi, hello, hi :D For the asks, 2 for the HeliWingJet polycule (because I'm predictable) and 14!
Hi! For the boys, alright! :D
2. What's your oc's orientation? (Romantic/sexual/platonic alterous ect) Do they have opinions about it?
Helios - polyamorous demiromantic (romantic attraction based on pre-established trust)
Ironwing - ambiamorous homoromantic (romantic attraction towards the same gender, or in his case this means individuals with the same identity)
Nightjet - polyamorous omniromantic (attraction to all, no preference)
They're all ace. Every single one of my TF OCs is asexual actually, now that I think about it. Hm.
As for their opinions, I think Helios would just love everyone who treats him fair and understands him, and doesn't mind him being himself around them. He puts up a front most of the time in the presence of too many strangers so it's nice to drop the friendly neighbor act when someone has seen through it. Acceptance is his biggest green flag.
Ironwing has had four boyfriends in his lifetime (three of which are dead, btw, why am I doing this to him) - I guess he likes them? I don't know, lmao.
Nightjet is a sappy romantic and he was just waiting for someone to be romantic with. He's not picky, though that's not always a good thing. It worked for him.
14. Do you have ocs on the aro or ace spectrum?
My TF and Brave OCs are asexual, some are also aromantic and some are aplatonic and some are both. (Do I have to list them? There are. Many)
Light of Aether OCs:
Ace: Amber Varnice, Cryo Volta, the Sorceress
Aro: Avalanche, Flamaclam, Icador, Rhiza
Aroace: Malfunction/Vindictus, Lucerna, Nameless
Apl: Scyre, Tinnitus, Etra
For the rest, I didn't think about it before or it's not relevant to the story.

For the WIPs, Iwiguess, TF_SpA aaand... Hm 🤔
Ooh, that's an interesting pick, since all three WIPs are for TF characters!
Tumblr media
Iwiguess (from Dec 2022): "Ironwing, I guess" The title is misleading because it's not even Ironwing (an OC), but Helios (another OC) depicted in it. I was lying to myself when I saved the file. He is looking up at a screen inside a spaceship's command deck and he's not happy with what he's seeing :-)
Just look at my precious boy. Look at him. 🥹
Tumblr media
TF_SpA (Nov 2022): "Transformers OC Sparkattack" This little medic in training is showing a visitor the giant burnt-out starformer he found the other day (starformers turn into stars, they were said to be mythological figures, but Sparkattack keeps finding and hoarding their lifeless frames on an uninhabitated planet because he thinks they're cool).
Tumblr media
Hm (Oct 2022) : "Hm..." I tried to play around with Rung's helm design to create a very alien looking Primus. He is one of the main characters in the Mythology AU mentioned previously.

@dimorphodon-x who created the Star Seeker frametype <3
I hope this is acceptable, because he is not exactly one of them. I'm the dumbass who accidentally pressed the anon button, by the way, haha.
This is Ironwing, one of my Brave OCs that I transported over to Transformers just for fun.
In TF, he would be a regular seeker that has modified and disguised himself as a Star Seeker to avoid being recognised by his colleagues of the Space Police Organisation who are chasing him for stealing personal information from the archives.
-> One of his fellow officers is an alien lifeform that was responsible for the death of his friend and is now inhabiting his body (but no one knows that). He asks Ironwing to steal all the information he can gather about his former team (both of them + four other mechs; there is six of them in total) and when he does that, all evidence of their existence and in addition their allegiance with the S.P.O. is erased and the two of them disguise themselves so that their colleagues cannot recognize them anymore.
A freshly formed team under the leadership of the story's protagonist is sent out to retrieve the data and arrest them, but none of them have satisfactory experience in teamwork, as the members have been carefully picked by the alien to be as inefficient as possible, before it went rogue. By setting them up to failure, Ironwing and the alien wanted to ensure that their plans go smoothly and they can disappear for good.
It is too bad his alien friend didn't tell him about his secret space domination plans and that he is willing to do anything - use him and the other four mechs (a combiner team), wipe their minds and infect them with a virus that turns them into zombies under his command - to further his goals.
Ironwing just wanted to help an old friend, but his helpfulness may cost him his life in the end.
That is probably where I will end his bio for now, because I will not post his entire backstory here and it doesn't really fit as well into TF as it does into Brave.
I have a close up sketch of his helm and upper torso, because the amount of detail I put into them is insane by my standards. It's way too complicated and the rest of his frame is just - drab - compared to whatever is going on up there, but I don't want to change it now.
Tumblr media
And here is the only colored piece I have of his Brave design. It's not finalized and still too detailed for a Brave (I tend to overcomplicate things sometimes), but it's all I can show you at the moment. The words that inspired his design were "fairy prince", by the way. I think it shows.
