SONG OF THE DAY
Day #17
OKAY OKAY OKAY I MAY BE OPEN TO SENDING NUDES FOR CASH TO SURVIVE THIS SUMMER FESTIVAL SEASON. That Boiler Room Brisbane announcement has me quaking in my little booties. So in honour of that today's pick is Jungle by Fred Again referencing my favourite Boiler Room video which is Fred Again’s July 2022 London set. I have other sets I love, like Sara Landry's August 2023 recording and recently Charlie XCX’s internet-breaking set with the Dare and George Daniel, however, I keep rewatching that Fred Again video due to its infectious energy.
Jungle by Fred Again was released as a single in 2022 and was included in their 2022 EP USB. The track samples vocals from Elley Duhe’s 2017 release Immortal and includes Four Tet in its production credits (who is fucking iconic in their own right). Fred Again has rapidly become a cultural phenomenon, and I was super lucky to see him live at a festival set for Laneway Brisbane 2023. Jungle is one of their more DnB EDM songs, and the production for this one is uncomplicatedly punchy using Duhe’s vocals and beats to create a hair-raising track. Best played in the car obnoxiously loud, it's a headbanger.

Just came to say that, as a bears supporter, I was genuinely SO excited watching the brave win yesterday!! (because the alternative was………..*shudders* 😂)
And with a last finals goal for Wombat AND a shutout for Tetreault?? Iconic, honestly 🙌🏼💛🏒
HELLO!!! i forgive u for supporting the bears now that the season is over... our houses will be divided once more next year </3 i hope u know that your team is ontologically evil and i wish nothing but agonies upon them . mwah (with malice and fury)
and akljsdkj like... Tets really fought for his life earlier this season when the boys went off to worlds, and then there was that miserable game where he stopped ONE shot ... im so glad the team never lost faith in him. sorry but oil-rs WHO!!! CBR brave bottom of the league standings -> all the way to the CUP!!!!! sometimes the narratives are perfect and beautiful, sometimes the only way out is through etc. etc.
also. i have a confession to make in the wake of the championship. i AM a low key fan of Ishida,, I know i was casting big curses and misfortunes on him but hes genuinely done so well. this league is a high scoring league and he really just upstaged everyone with his . um. above .900 sv% LMAO
i found his twt while browsing the AIHL tags and occasionally i use the translate function and he. ough. seems like a good fella i fear. also he gets left high and dry out there, like, all the time. melbourne i.ce pleeeek.......defend ur woman (goalie) in stem (net)... He tweeted vaguely that he had a feeling he would be back in australia next year (<- do not cite me on this as a source) so fingers crossed i can continue my one-sided feud?? god... what is hockey if not deep hatred for a guy who is really good but not on your team and thus an enemy by default......................

I never understood those who read a book just once. To me, the joy of re-reading is also like remembering what you felt the first time. Also, remembering events you forgot.
Especially when you are fan of a series of books.
Yes, you know me, and so you know what I talk about.
I have no idea anymore how often I read the Dark Tower books. I assume somewhere between 22-26 times. I know, I still have other books to read, but this journey is frequently calling my name.
And, just today, my friend and fellow Kingreader Volker made a posting on Stephen King Fans Deutschland. He is also on his path again, going to be gunslinging alongside Roland and his Ka-tet:
“It is time again... I've had this feeling for days. I looked at the roses in the garden (waiting for their song), I longed for an ice-cold Nozz-A-La on a hot day, I look at the turtle on the bookshelf, I posted a picture of Oy, I looked at my painting of the tower hanging on the wall... ...the signs are there - it's about time... It is no secret. I love the dark tower series. I remember that love even made me join this group (eons ago...). It is definitely one of the books I will read again and again. It always captivated me and I was glad King was able to finish the series after his accident in 1999. King's Saga combines fantasy, science fiction, western and horror and is considered by us fans to be his main work. Of course, there are also readers who don't get the series. Many failed, especially on the first volume...but although I personally can't understand this (the first (iconic) sentence reeled me in immediately)...it seems to be a matter of taste again. I feel sorry for anyone who couldn't find access. But that doesn't take away from my love of the Tower...and I know there are at least as many fans of the saga. In any case... The omens were there, the holiday is just around the corner and I'm going on the journey again...I'm also fascinated by the fact that I can always find little treasures along the way that I hadn't noticed on previous trips or that I've never seen before. which will inspire me again... and of course I'm looking forward to seeing the characters I've grown fond of again... ...I'm leaving...Say thankya... The Man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed...” All that being said, if a series of books, Is loved so deeply and dearly, I long for it to be visualised. @flanaganfilm, you hear us. You know the love for the series, and you have our hearts or the DT project. We are well-met, aye.

This is my top five off data so far
5. Mañana by The Marias and Young Miko
I love the vibe of this song it’s so melodically hypnotizing and I love toxic Young Miko
4. Pasiempre by Arcángel and Jhayco ft Myke Towers Omar Courtz and Arca and surprise ft of bad bunny (so humble his name is nowhere)
This would be higher but I don’t like Arcángel right now so he bumps this down for me Bad Bunny i know you’re working on an album right now it’s all over your Astro chart I can feel trap bunny coming back this is just a small taste and I’m fucking excited
3. Volver by Rauw Alejandro and Skrillex ft Four Tet
Rauw sounds amazing and I fucking loved him on this track and the way the music flows becomes so hypnotic and trippy and like I’m so obsessed
2. 11 y Once by Sech and E.Vax
Sech kills this his voice is so fucking good and I love how funky this starts the way mojabi ghost flows into this is kinda magical and I looooove the guitar and bass in this song it really is something I’ve never really heard anything like it

Desde las 10 by Kany García

Lo Siento BB :/ by Bad Bunny and Julieta Venegas
I’ve had this song on repeat since it came out I fucking love Julieta Venegas Mexican Icon so… old news for me
Corleone Interlude by Chencho Corleone
What a good fucking take on old school regatón it was so dynamic wish it was longer and I get why it’s an interlude
Ok finally here’s my pick for number 1
Mojabi Ghost by Bad Bunny

★★★★☆
"The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger" introduces the reader to the fascinating character of Roland Deschain, the last descendant of the Gilead clan, and the final representative of a line of implacable gunslingers who have disappeared since the Mid-World where they lived "moved on." To prevent the complete destruction of this already empty and dying world, Roland must reach the Dark Tower, the axis on which all time and space depend, and the true obsession of Roland, his Holy Grail, his only reason for living. The gunslinger believes that a mysterious character, whom he refers to as the man in black, knows and can reveal secrets capable of helping him in his quest for the Dark Tower, and therefore pursues him relentlessly. Along the way, he meets people who belong to his ka-tet - that is, whose destiny is irrevocably linked to his. Among them are Alice, a woman Roland meets in the desolate city of Tull, and Jake Chambers, a boy who was transported to Roland's world after dying in tragic circumstances in New York City in 1977. But the gunslinger will not be able to reach the end of the journey that has been destined for him alone. In fact, his adventure will extend to other worlds far beyond the Mid-World, leading him to realities that he never dreamed existed.
Towers stand as a testament to human ingenuity, made possible by architecture and engineering. It's a fascination that has endured throughout history. From the biblical Tower of Babel, constructed by Noah's descendants, to the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris, these towering structures have captured our imagination. In literature, we find Tolkien's Two Towers and Stephen King's epic quest, The Dark Tower.
"The Gunslinger," the first book in King's series, introduces us to Roland, a compelling character whose journey is both mysterious and captivating. The novel effectively hooks the reader, leaving them eager to learn more about this enigmatic gunslinger and his quest. However, as the first installment in a seven-book series, "The Gunslinger" feels more like an introduction than a standalone story. While it successfully sets the stage, it leaves the reader wanting more depth and development, which can be frustrating.
"The Gunslinger" is filled with flashbacks, and King absolutely nailed it by including them. These glimpses into Roland's past are just as captivating as the main narrative. They not only provide depth to his character but also offer a welcome respite from the ongoing story.
What I found most disappointing was the sense of constraint in King's writing. It felt somewhat limited. Additionally, the book lacks a consistent tone. It's a hodgepodge of horror, magic, and fantasy, which, while ambitious, didn't quite work for me. Ultimately, I found it more fitting to categorize it as a fantasy novel.
The inaugural volume is an episodic narrative lacking a definitive beginning or conclusion, offering a snapshot of a character's existence akin to a prologue. While 'The Gunslinger' is a compelling tale, readers seeking horror might find it somewhat unsatisfying as the novel leans more towards fantasy. As the first installment of a seven-book series, it intentionally leaves many questions unanswered, providing a mere glimpse into the overarching narrative without extensive exposition. Consequently, it doesn't place excessive demands on the reader. Despite not considering 'The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger' a literary masterpiece, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The compelling character of Roland Deschain and the tantalizing promise of future installments make it a worthwhile read.

The Influence of Street Style on Women’s Wear
Tumblr media
Street style has become a major force in shaping modern fashion, influencing how women dress, express themselves, and connect with global trends. It’s a movement that draws inspiration from urban environments, individuality, and cultural diversity, blending comfort with bold aesthetics. At Tet Responsible Wear, we recognize the impact of street style on women’s fashion and strive to create pieces that reflect this dynamic and ever-evolving trend. From casual sweaters & knitwear for women to versatile jumpsuits for women, street style has found its way into everyday wear, offering a unique blend of comfort, sustainability, and style.
1. The Evolution of Street Style: From the Streets to the Runway
Street style originated from the grassroots level, where fashion enthusiasts began to use their personal style as a form of self-expression. Over time, this authentic, non-conformist approach to dressing influenced high-end designers, turning street fashion into a mainstream phenomenon. Today, street style shapes not only runway collections but also everyday wardrobe choices for women around the world.
At Tet Responsible Wear, we design with the modern woman in mind, offering pieces that align with the urban, laid-back, and effortlessly cool vibe of street fashion. Our sweaters & knitwear for women, for instance, combine casual comfort with chic design elements that make them perfect for a street-style inspired look.
2. Sweaters & Knitwear for Women: A Street Style Staple
Street style often merges comfort with a touch of boldness, and sweaters & knitwear for women are a perfect embodiment of this aesthetic. Whether it’s an oversized sweater paired with skinny jeans or a cropped knit layered over a high-waisted skirt, knitwear offers endless versatility for street-inspired looks.
At Tet Responsible Wear, we create sweaters & knitwear for women that blend form with function. Our pieces are crafted from sustainable fabrics, ensuring that you can achieve the street-style look while making responsible fashion choices. Pair our knitwear with sneakers or boots for a cool, urban vibe that’s both cozy and stylish.
3. The Rise of Jumpsuits for Women in Street Style
One of the most iconic trends that street style has popularized in women’s fashion is the jumpsuit. Once considered utilitarian, jumpsuits for women are now a must-have for anyone looking to achieve a chic, effortless look. The appeal of jumpsuits lies in their versatility—they can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize, making them perfect for both casual street looks and more polished outfits.
At Tet Responsible Wear, our jumpsuits for women are designed to fit seamlessly into a street-style wardrobe. Crafted from eco-friendly materials, our jumpsuits combine style with sustainability, offering the perfect blend of practicality and fashion-forward design. Wear a jumpsuit with statement sneakers for a laid-back, urban look or elevate it with heels and a bold jacket for a night out.
4. Buy Skirts Online for a Street Style Twist
Street style is all about mixing and matching different elements to create a unique, personal look. Skirts for women play a big role in this, offering versatility and the ability to experiment with layering. High-waisted skirts, midi skirts, and even denim skirts are common in street-style fashion, often paired with graphic tees, knits, or edgy outerwear.
When you buy skirts online from Tet Responsible Wear, you’re investing in pieces that are designed to reflect both current trends and timeless style. Whether you’re dressing for a casual day out or adding a bit of edge to your office attire, skirts provide a perfect canvas for building street-style outfits. Pair a high-waisted skirt with a fitted turtleneck or an oversized sweater for a look that’s effortlessly cool and street-chic.
5. Blouses & Tops Online: Mixing Feminine and Edgy Street Style
Street style often fuses unexpected combinations of feminine and edgy elements. Blouses & tops online are a key part of this mix, allowing you to experiment with textures, prints, and silhouettes. For example, pairing a delicate blouse with a pair of distressed jeans and chunky boots creates a contrast that’s characteristic of street fashion.
At Tet Responsible Wear, our selection of blouses & tops online includes styles that blend classic and contemporary influences, perfect for street-style enthusiasts. Whether you’re drawn to bold patterns or sleek minimalist designs, our tops are versatile enough to be dressed up or down, depending on your mood and the look you want to achieve.
6. Dresses for Women Online: Effortless Street Style Elegance
When it comes to street style, dresses for women online can be both practical and elegant, offering an easy way to look put-together without much effort. Midi and maxi dresses with bold patterns or simple, structured silhouettes have become a street-style favorite, often styled with sneakers or ankle boots for an urban, on-the-go look.
At Tet Responsible Wear, our dresses for women online combine sustainability with style. Our Floral Luna Puff Dress, for instance, offers a street-ready blend of femininity and contemporary design, perfect for day-to-night wear. 7. Sustainability Meets Street Style
One of the most exciting aspects of modern street style is its embrace of sustainability. As more people become aware of the environmental impact of fashion, the trend has shifted towards slow fashion, with an emphasis on quality, sustainability, and ethical production. Tet Responsible Wear embodies this shift, offering women’s clothing that is both eco-conscious and stylish.
