Otome tag game

I was tagged by the lovely @sengokugenkigirl and I’ll tag @otome--gokoro @cavern-of-bells @guacameowle and whomever else wants to try this if you haven’t done so already!

1) What is your favorite otome game?

SLBP/Tenka for sure, those are pretty much the only otome games I play everyday. Although lately I am loving the Arcana as well.

2) What is your least favorite?

Our Two Bedroom Story. I just can’t get into it. Plus I’m not a huge fan of Shall We Date games.

3) What is your favorite route?

I love Kojuro’s route because of his relationship with him and his MC, but my favorite route probably has to be Ieyasu’s. There’s just so much character development and I love this bratty lil tsundere so much. Also I love Hanzo’s route in Tsuki. There were so many plot twists, like his route was a roller coaster ride, I’M STILL SHOOK THINKING ABOUT IT.

4) What is your least favorite route?

Uhhhhhh Inuchiyo’s? Lmao yeah Voltage completely screwed him over which is a shame because I love him but at least the SLBP fandom doesn’t let me down. Oh but probably Ota’s route in KBTBB as well. Sorry I’m just not into being called a dog? Can I mention Scorpio’s sequel in SCM? I’m still pissed that I spent money on that mess like it didn’t make any sense at all especially with the King like okayyyyy Voltage.

5) How much money have you spent on otome games?

LMAO LET’S NOT GO THERE. *nervous laughter* This is precisely the reason of why I never check my bank account or my email because I know Apple receipts will be on there.

6) How much otome have you played?

Uh a lot? I’ve pretty much played at least one story of every Voltage game except for a few.

7) Do you prefer male or female love interests?

My bi ass prefers both. There needs to be more female love interests in otome.

8) If you could make one LI in real life so you could date them, which would you pick and why?

Kanetsugu? Lol he’s not a love interest (DAMN SHAME) but I’d date him in a heartbeat. He’s so kind and he cares about his daughter so much. Plus I’d be there to give him daily massages after he got home from dealing with Kenshin lmao.

Otherwise probably Kojuro even though he’s a mess lol. But that’s okay because I’m a mess too. Or Jinpachi from Serendipity Next Door even though he was rude af at first, I fell for him and I still love his route to this day because he turns into a flirty/teasing sweetie-pie. 

Yikes...do y’all notice a pattern?

9) Have you ever cried while playing an otome? If so, whose route(s) made you cry?

Shingen and Kenshin’s divine destiny endings. I am RUINED after those especially Kenshin’s. I got punched right in the feels with those two.

10) Favorite LIs based on personality?

Soryu (KBTBB), Zyglavis (SCM), Ieyasu (SLBP/Tenka), Hanzo (Tsuki), Inuchiyo (SLBP/Tenka) Jinpachi (SND) Hibiki (SITSC) Takashi (SITS), Kojuro (SLBP/Tenka) ...honestly this list could go on and on.

11) Favorite LIs based on visual design?

I’m not a huge Saizo fan as yall know but DAMN is he pretty? Zyglavis is super pretty too.

12) What is your favorite plot from an otome game?

Hmmm I like the historical plots but honestly I am a huge fan of where the LI and MC don’t like each other at first then end up falling for each other.

13) Do you name the MC your real name or a nickname?

I always call my MCs Katie which is my nickname of my real name sooo.

14) What kind of love interests would you like to see in future otomes?

More females for sure! Plus more NPCs? (cough cough KANETSUGU cough cough)

15) Which LI do you think you are most like?

Probably Mitsunari? I’m not sure actually.

72 chibis - An upcoming battle event in Tenka looks like it will have 72 chibis combined of the Lords and Ninja. Each one will have four chibis. How those will work… I don’t know…. They don’t seem to be paired, so……………….

Saizo - There are upcoming Tenka avatar items that look like they’re for a Main Story, but with no indication of who it’s for. Because the kimono prize(?) is black and white with sakura, and the BG prize(?) is a sakura tree, we feel like it might be for Saizo. Supposing they’re not releasing Saizo for Tsuki, then it must be for his Sequel. But… we just got Kojuro Sequel, so it’s too early for Saizo to be out soon????

Okay, Hanzo sequel is going to be voiced too. That’s really fast, I’m so baffled. 

Maybe they’re trying to keep things interesting before players get event fatigue.

Hm... should I be concerned or is this just because it’s anniversary season? Hanzo’s sequel launch wasn’t that long ago. I feel like I’ve been so used to expecting sequels to take a bajillion years that speedy releases make me feel concerned instead.

Man, I was hoping to see more snek stuff for inspiration, but nah. I guess Haku just really hate Hanzo that much (and Hanzo doesn’t like Haku either).

So main 6 ninjas have sequels already. Kaede/Sougo and Shima to follow someday.

So here, MC has found that Mitsuba is being targeted again, and there were even some ninjas chasing her. Hanzo came back from meeting with his dad and said that both Fujibayashi and Momochi are doing this, and they don’t want to be involved lest they get attacked from two sides.

And MC here is begging Hanzo to help her village regardless.

I feel like the MC is being kind of a hypocrite here. Like, you want Hanzo to be considerate of you, but you’re not considerate of him!! If the Hattori gets targeted by the Momochi and Fujibayashi both, aren’t you putting them in danger too? 

She’s not saying like “if our two villages fight together, we can win”. That’s a different story. 

Like, it’s been previously established all three villages of Iga are evil, so I honestly don’t care if all of them fights each other to annihilation, but MC’s logic here is kind of... ugh. And this here after she got snubbed by Yasu who is like “what benefit do I get from protecting you :/” and she thinks “well he has a point”. 

But she’s now whining at Hanzo like... I get that she’s getting desperate, but... ugh, usually I feel that the Tsuki MC is less airhead than the Hana MC, but I guess sometimes it just happens. I hope it gets better later.

I just... I don’t even know, man. If you ask SLBP staff, all they will say is “we cannot reveal future plans”.

Volteg plz for the love of everything, release the ninja His POV routes. I know they don’t make a lot of money because they’re essentially a freebie. There’s no choices and there’s no Crossroads, so you don’t need to buy anything except for the Light End, but come on.

Well, why not? Nobody said all the samurai has to get theirs before the ninja are allowed to have their sequels. 

Nobunaga got his sequel in 2016, some 2-ish years after Tenka’s initial launch. Sakuya’s getting his after Tsuki’s been around for 2 years too. That sounds pretty fair to me.
