How To Make Puran Poli – Recipe

Puran Poli is a Maharashtrian Recipe mostly made on festive occasions like Dipawali and Ganesh Chaturthi. Interestingly, Puran Poil varies by different origins and names through generations. 
It’s a recipe known as bakshyam, which is referenced in Manucharitra, a fourteenth-century Telugu reference book incorporated by Allasani Peddanna hailing from present-day Andhra Pradesh. 
The History of this recipe carries different names for different regional languages. In Telugu, it is known as Baksham, Holige in Kannada, Puran Puri in Gujarati and Puran Poli in Marathi. 
About Puran Poli 
Puran Poli is a flatbread loaded down with a sweet lentil stuffing. In the Marathi language, the sweet stuffing is called Puran, and the bread is called Poli. 
Jaggery is effectively accessible in India. If you live outside India, check for the Goldmine Jaggery Powder as it has the best taste in terms of sweetness. 
Making Puran Poli is simple however requires significant investment. So plan ahead of time before making. You can even set up the sweet stuffing a day prior and refrigerate it. 
Serves : 3 
Ingredients :   
For Puran Mixture 
1/2 Cup Powdered Jaggery
1/2 Cup Chana Dal 
1.5 Cups Water
1 Teaspoon Ghee 
1/2 Teaspoon Dry Ginger Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg Powder 
For the Poli 
3/4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour 
2 Tablespoon Oil or Ghee
1/4 Teaspoon (Salt as required) 
1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Use Goldmine turmeric powder) 
Puran Poli Recipe:
Making the Puran 
Wash the chana dal first very well in water.
Splashed the chana dal however you can and likewise drench the chana dal for 30 minutes to one hour and afterwards channel the water. 
In a pressing factor cooker, cook the chana dal for 6 to 7 whistles. 
The dal must be cooked well. If you drench the chana dal, the cooking time will be diminished.

Preparation of Tasty Bellam Thalikalu
Today let's see how to make festival special prasadam recipe Bellam Thalikalu
To a bowl, add 1 1/2 cup water for 1 cup rice flour
Add a pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon clarified butter
Oil also could be used instead
Boil this water
Add 1 cup rice flour as the water starts to boil and stir
Here I used dry flour
Mix and cut off the stove
Close lid for 2-3 minutes
Knead it now
Move the mixture into a different bowl if the it is too hot
With the help of dry flour, make noodle like dough pieces
Sprinkle dry flour on them so that they don't stick to each other
You can also sprinkle dry flour on a plate and use it to make the rolls
Sprinkle dry flour on them so that they don't stick to each other
Thalikalu with Jaggery Preparation
Take a wide pan
Let's fry dry fruits in it first
Heat 1 tablespoon clarified butter in it
Fry the dry fruits in it
Any dry fruits of your choice could be used
They can be skipped also
Fry until they turn brown and move them into a different plate
Heat 4-5 cup water
Let it come to boil
Add 1 cup grated jaggery and let it melt
Sugar also could be added for more sweetness
Here I'm adding 2 tablespoon sugar
Now add the prepared rolls (thalikalu)
Add them little by little with 10-20 seconds gap to let the water get to boiling temperature again
Don't stir it too much
Now add 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut
Cook for 2 minutes
To a bowl of water, add 2 tablespoons rice flour and mix it into a thin paste
Add this paste to the dish
This will make the sweet dish nice and thick
Cook for 2 more minutes and add 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
Bellam thalikalu are ready to serve!

Telangana is one of the major states in south India which has both historical importance as well as important cities in the current times too. Telangana state with Hyderabad city as its Capital was formed on June 2, 2014, after separating from Combined Andhra Pradesh and is celebrated as Telangana Formation Day. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao is the chief minister of the state of the formation of Telangana to the present day which is on 16 June 2022.
 Though Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state are both Telugu-speaking states their culture and traditions are a bit different when compared.
Here we are listing some of the differences between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states:
In Telangana, Bonalu is one major festival that reflects the unique culture and tradition of the Telangana people but it is not in Andhra Pradesh. Bathukamma Festival is celebrated widely by Telangana women but not the same in Andhra Pradesh.
While Bonalu and Bathukamma festivals are celebrated widely in Telangana, Andhra people celebrate Sankranthi. Sankranthi is a very big festival in Andhra Pradesh states Sankranthi is celebrated by playing cock fights, recording dances at night, etc. Though Telangana people celebrate Sankranthi playing cock fights and recording dances at night will not be seen in the Telangana region instead Telangana people enjoy Kites, sakinalu, marshalls, etc during Sankranthi.
Just not with festivals including Telugu slang in both the regions is very different. Telangana’s Telugu slang lot different compared to Andhra’s Telugu slang.
Some other festivals like Ugadi Telugu New Year are celebrated in a similar way mostly in both states.  But the Ugadi pachadi Recipe of Andhra is like a paste while Telangana’s Ugadi patch di has more liquid. Ingredients used in the making of Ugadi patch di are different in both Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
When compared to Telangana, Castism, or People giving importance to cast is more visible in Andhra Pradesh. Very often you can see people engaging in Caste-based fights in AP. There are a lot of caste-based fights in Andhra but not in Telangana.
Medaram Sammakka Sarallama Jathara (1.5 crore people visit Medaram) in 3 days of Jathara and it’s celebrated in Telangana but not in Andhra. Maybe there are some other Jatharas in Andhra which are not celebrated in Telangana.
