But what this tell is is for me to know and you to find out >:3

He has more problems with food than cravings. TCA/Eating Disorder Bezz is very personal to me- but it's going to therapy and continuing with a new nutritionist!)

About symptoms.  At first he thinks it's an asymptomatic pregnancy, and it's more like the pregnancy is camouflaging itself.

Like. He's throwing up his guts, but he think “its relates it to the end of the season and the stress causes that in him” (even though he's no longer in line for the championship) (and he's never thrown up from stress before).  He then feels fatigued and can't sleep, but that's all because he travels a lot, jet lag and all that.  He misses his dog and cries looking at his photos. Custom HIOMAIKA(+Dex)

After months of getting stuff they're finally done! Got some nendo parts along with YMY dolls to make them real.

Before anything was done and Maika had her final clothes:

To be honest I barely had to do much stuff in terms of applying epoxy over to make things or sand areas.

They still are far away from being perfect since they could have had way more sanding for a better cleaner look and the colors could have been better if I didn't try to keep touching them while they dried orz

Still, this is good enought to me!

Edit: huge thanks to @/chorva_art on twitter for recommending materials and possible faces that could be used for Maika I watched some videos of customs but if she didn't tell me materials or what could be used to do this stuff idk if I'd have gone through it at all lol

Materials used for the extra parts:

Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Smooth Surface), the one that takes 12 hours to dry;

Sanding Paper that I didn't use as much as I should;

Tamiya Primer;

Tamiya LP-43 (pearl white), LP-52 (clear red), LP-8 (pure yellow), LP-10 (thinner) and LP-65(rubber black);

Acrilex Thinner since i ran out of the Tamiya after making a mistake and using thinner without paint;

Acrilex Fixative Varnish (spray and liquid);

Super Glue;

Mini Oxygen Injector ForeverLily.

The colors weren't the best for painting hair since they are kinda better for cars in the case of LP-52 and LP-43, so any weird thing is due to that. However the effect that LP-43 and LP-65 gave when mixed for Dex's gray hair did have a nice result.

I also ended up breaking the mini oxygen injector's paint/liquid supplier because i dropped it twice in different days so this post will be a warning tale 😔

Hair styles used:

Maika: Nendoroid Doll Alice for the front and Eris Boreas for the back

Hio: Rider/Ozymandias

Dex: Luo Tianyi this wasn't on purpose at all I swear

MAIKA's clothes progress

Maika had parts of her clothes custom made by a relative since her outfit wasn't as simple to get by purchase only unlike the other two.

Dex and Hio's outfits can still get some accessories for a complete version compared to how they are at the moment aside their coats.

This relative can't draw so I had to help by drawing a reference and staying with them while they sewed to make sure it was what I had in mind for this.

Because of that it took quite a while since they kept remaking stuff until it got done in a way they liked and we could only do it once in a while. For the early photos the glovelettes were pretty much not used since we were still figuring out how that would work 😅

Maika's clothes have small snap fasteners to close them.

And here's final look for Maika's clothes:

How steps went by during these past few months:

Getting the hair parts → start sanding them → finishing Maika clothes → starting applying epoxy and adjusting more with sanding → priming → painting → varnish

Hair progress

Maika had to get her hair roll and some patching up to hide the headband of the back hair.

As for Hio he only missed his side hair and the slightly long hair on the side.

This is one of the areas that I didn't sand as much as possible so it could have been better, but since it barely shows up it didn't make a big difference.

His "long" hair part fell down so super glue was used to put it back in place. During the painting process his side hair also fell so, once again, super glue saved the day.

Meanwhile Dex had some big holes to cover, he was the first one to be "completed" from the first day since the main issue that had to be done was the easiest to fix compared to Maika's hairband and Hio's side hair.

These holes were what gave away that this was Tianyi's hair since either it was some long hair part that were attached to it or twin tails, which was the keyword used to figure out who was the hair donor 😅

There also were some holes in the back of the head so these helped a lot to make sure that it really was her.

Applying primer was ok without many issues ignoring that I didn't want to sand more, the biggest issues happened over the painting.

From the get go Dex was the only one who worked, I made some mistakes and wasted thinner thinking that I had it mixed with paint while it wasn't so he was the only one that didn't have any major issues during the first day of painting to the point that I went ahead an applied some varnishing. 🤡

Dex came out pretty ok, had to do some fixing with a brush and even after that paint more since I tested how he looked closed and he wasn't 100% dry yet so his head pieces almost got stuck together.

For the second and third day Hio and Maika's hairstyles got done with the oxygen injector becoming unable to use since each day I broke one of the liquid suppliers RIP. Fortunately on the last day it happened after Maika was done.

After this the spray varnish was applied and they were left to dry a bit. Fortunately everything was already sort of done so I didn't have much else to do...

Until I accidentally scratched Hio's head on the front and his front bangs ended up with a hole in it 💀 I tried to patch it up with oil pastels when liquid varnish was applied so it's not 100% noticiable as it was before it.

The liquid varnish was just to make sure that the heads wouldn't be sticky as some model kit and miniature painters/reviewers on BR YT and blogs mentioned Acrilex's pray varnish could leave stuff sticky due to temperature and other things, so that was what had to be fixed for the last stage.

And with that, here's the final result:

I'm pretty happy with how their hair came out. Maika's head is pretty easy to remove while the other two are hard to insert and remove, need to be really careful to not mess up anything while doing it.

Before finishing the post, here are a few notes for the hair styles and the doll bodies used:

Dex

Somehow was the easiest to get between the 3;

His main issue was actually the liquid varnishing that probably was way too much so it looks like he got glue on his hair, which I'm going to try to avoid touching as much as possible to not make it even worser;

Maika

Maybe applied way too much white paint after some mistakes that made me waste thinner;

Red hair is pretty dark compared to the photos. It's pretty close to the red of Sylvanian Families Cruising Car that I used as reference for this chibi art, so at least it's a really pretty kind of red;

Hio

His hair went from yellow to a more dark orange tone to this in the final result. It's far from his original hair color, however this is good since I couldn't really picture him with a super light blonde color nor did I want to make him closer to the original;

Actually the hardest hair in terms of applying epoxy putty since his side bangs had to be made.

YMY body:

The ver. 1 YMY has more knee articulation compared to the ver. 2. Both Hio and Maika use the second version and they can't sit on top of their knees like Dex. For an easy example it's like how Body-kun has knee articulation while Body-chan does not have that;

Ver. 2 has hands for both sides of the body while the ver. 1 only came with right hand for different hand types. Ver. 2 also got two chests that you can exchange (the one it came with and the alternate version);

Different stands. Ver. 1 has one similar to doll stands (straight stand, doesn't have articulation) while ver. 2 is more similar to nendoroid stands (3 articulation points). You can see them properly on the photos that came before these notes.

This took around 5 months to finish since parts started getting delivered, doing epoxy and painting took less time because a few things got done until 2 months ago. It was done for real 29/08/2013.

If someone with more patience than me does this they for sure can get better results than what I got so may this post help anyone who wants to have their own customs, if that's possible.

The doll seat they're using is a Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families one, in terms of seats their items work pretty well for this. A smaller doll type like nendoll probably will work a bit better, even if a bit big for other types of furniture (still not as big as this one).

expaaaansion update thoughts ( SotO spoilers) in no particular order

i wish there was more character building/connection. i don't mind taking commander/wayfinder away from their regular group and putting them in a new and unfamiliar dynamic, but seeing as zojja was a big selling point for the expansion n now she's just memory wiped and barely even present in the bagground.... ***eh***. :(

nayos is a very cool and pretty place. i like the events! exploration is neat as well. i really don't mind using story to help explore, even if the events-meter thingy is grindy at times.

that said ^ i am however worried that this Otherworldly Realm of Dreams that could Impact Tyria so much will just be confined to one map. and then... that's it. i mean i was really looking forward to more Cantha but instead we just ,, don't explore those implied plotlines or areas? the story feels pretty rushed :c

i miss tyria. i love tyria. i REALLLLY love tyria, tyria is so cool and diverse and grand with so much to see and so many stories to explore. nayos is cool but man do i love tyria. i want to know how everything is effecting tyria, IF anything is affecting tyria orz. the dragons arent/werent the only thing going down in tyria!!! theres so much there!!

but also getting whisked away to another dimension and not knowing What Else Is Up is also pretty cool. (but man. i LOVE tyria)

i DO like commander/wayfinder back in the role of sidekick/attack dog. i loved it with trahearne and i love it with peitha.

frustrated huff. im pretty satisfied with this expansion so far but also im not used to settling for 'pretty satisfied' when it comes to gw2, personally. i know they can't continue the way they used to, with long expansions and content-filled living world eps. but even if the living world ep was small, they usually still managed to pack a LOT of stakes into them!! i really hope they round the story off well, but with there being another expansion in the works already... hhhh...

i really wish we spent more time discussing and exploring the fractals introduced in the beginning of the expansion.

actually, i think what i really miss is taimi (or anyone) sending us on our way to collect every bit of data possible in every corner of a new map, with fun dialogue to accompany it.

i miss the characters we got to know in the first bit of the expansion. man first i dont get to see the guild, then i dont get to see zojja, now ive only goth Peitha and Galrath. i love you Peitha and Galrath 💕. but where's our buddies :( yeah i know they explained. but. hrmrmff.

like idk i was really expecting we'd get to spend more time with zojja at least, even when memory wiped. you're telling me being stuck with your old friend/coworker in a mysterious demon dream dimension while your old friend/coworker remembers nothing about the bond you two had except that you two had it at all doesnt sound like grounds for amazing dialogue?? cmon!!!!!!

I finished my first ever playthrough of Dragon Age Inquisition + Inquisition a while ago! I logged about 90 hours so I can say that I liked it, lol. I didn't know anything about the series before hand. Made an elven mage, and because I did not realize the game would assign me a surname, he bears the unfortunate name of Iorallin Lavellan (orz). BUT in the end I was very happy with him and I had a fun time with the game.

I romanced Dorian, I made Leiliana pope despite my best efforts. I ultimate decided to keep the Inquisition but I wasn't happy that the epilogue was basically "and then everyone left you except for fuckin Cullen" so if I play Veilguard I'll probably change that, if it's a choice you get to make. I'd rather imagine my lil dude bopping around each team member's pad from time to time rather than the Chantry's toothless dog.

Ultimately though, I think what I enjoyed most about the game were all the things I simply made up for myself while playing.

I didn't know any of the world building going in, so I didn't realize that "elf mage" was a significant choice for this story, but I'm really glad it worked out that way. All my favorite things while playing had to do with the elvish history and significance (I'm a basic elf bitch, sue me). I really like the argument I had with Dorian at one point about elves in slavery vs those in the slums. The extra layer of "this is a bad idea" to their relationship spiced it up even more. I made Levallan's ears as big as I possibly could and then decided that they are super sensitive, so much so that his favorite thing is to suck Dorian off while they get fondled. Which led to the natural conclusion that other elves view ears as huge and rounded as his as being an indication of promiscuity >:D. Personality wise I made Levallan as mild-mannered as I could, but I decided that Dorian was basically how he coped with all the pressure of being the Inquisitor, to an almost unhealthy degree. And now they're SEPARATED ;_;

I almost lost Sera fairly early on because I was too uptight for her (and also an elf), so after that I made it my mission to keep her happy. Which wasn't easy! But I really liked the idea of what their relationship was like in and around the cutscenes, and the careful balance my Inquisitor had to keep between wanting to bond with her as an elf, wanting HER to want to bond as an elf, and respecting that she's entitled to all her own opinions. It was an interesting project.

I liked Cassandra, Josephine, Vivienne, and Varric well enough. Didn't particularly care for Bull, Blackwall, Cullen, or Cole. But then of course there is SOLAS.

Solas was a lot of fun. Again I was really glad to be playing an elf, because of the insulting hilarity of Solas, the elf, telling me, the DALISH elf, "wow I thought you people all sucked but you're really cool and I have to adjust my perspective!" Thanks you piece of shit! lol. But I really did enjoy their relationship, the power dynamic of my character thinking they're approaching Solas with more knowledge of elvish culture than him, and then knowing already how wrong he was. I even accidentally gave Lavellan the Mythall mark. The thought of Solas meeting this dalish elf, proudly wearing HER mark of all things, growing to respect him but not enough to confide in him, was good fun. I can see why people really ship it, but I think I prefer the platonic relationship if he's the big bad now.

Honestly... that part was very underwhelming for me. I thought Tresspasser did a really awful job of setting that up, ultimately. Rando Qunari says "btw Solas is a bad guy, did you know?" and immediately all your dialogue options include "FUCK that guy he is a TRAITOR FOREVER." It did not explain his intentions or his villainy well at all, even as someone who knew it was coming. But maybe I missed stuff.

I'm not sure yet if I'll be getting Veilguard day one. None of the new companions look that compelling to me, but I did, again, play 90 hours of this game, so I can be reasonably confident I'll at least like the next one...? I'm kinda spoiled though and I want to hear what the optimum race/class choice for Rook is though, hahaha. Qunari female sounds pretty tasty since it's Tevinter but I dunno yet. I'll have to read up.

meyneth is the incarnation of the great light, born together with the universe and the primordial darkness!

ten years before the story of pso2 begins, she is almost a casualty from the attack on the arks ship by dark falz apprentice, and is saved in the nick of time by a pair of newman siblings. her body is mechanized from the inside to save her life. after these events, she decides that she’s going to find the two siblings that rescued her and give them a proper thank you

years later, she joins arks and befriends afin on her first day on the job. they become besties and are never seen far from the other. mey is extremely proficient with light element techniques and is a very fearsome force/techter (she gets a lot of comments about her power being blinding like the sun itself)

the story is largely the same as the one in canon, except for after when matoi is taken by the profound darkness; mey goes to see euclyta, because her case gives her hope, and no matter how many times shes told its futile, she returns over and over; not just to talk about saving matoi, but because she genuinely likes being around her and they become very close friends. she doesnt want to say anything, but the truth is that mey developed a huge crush on euclyta along the way. she’s content with keeping quiet until xiao asks her to undergo cryosleep to cleanse her body from f-factor. the night before she has to go, euclyta steps up and confesses she’s also got feelings for her. they promise they’ll be together once mey comes back.

two years pass, she wakes up, and reunites with her friends.

episode 4 as it is in the game doesnt exist in this story because i dont like it so the way i retconned it is an arc focused on defeating falspawn across the planets in preparation for the primordial darkness’ return, like xiao had said at the end of episode 3. there is a lot of focus on mey reconnecting with her friends and catching up on the two years they missed out on, and her developing relationship with euclyta.

when the primordial darkness returns, mey harnesses her innate light and manages to separate persona from it, creating omega in the process. episode 5 continues as normal, except that when euclyta and aurora are brought to epyk, they refuse to go back to oracle and stick together with mey (largely because eucie doesnt wanna leave her alone on a strange medieval fantasy isekai, like if you found out your girlfriend was fighting REAL firebreathing dragons, golems, and shit you’d be terrified for her wellbeing too) (she got a very cool epyk disguise because otherwise margareta wouldnt let them go)

when episode 5 ends theres another divergence from canon, in which mey is too kind for her own good and saves elmir from dying and forces him into the falz sitcom headspace together with luther, gettemhart and co. she has to constantly tell them to not lay a finger on him. also he refuses to admit he does like her. she gets a very cool masquerade dark blast form!

in the small timeframe between the end of ep5 and before shiva overtakes the mothership in ep 6, mey obtains a cosmogenic arm of her own in the form of lightstream xion, after fighting the requiem of the specters grudge (the dark falz persona raid).

the war against shiva goes the same, but when it comes to the finale you might be asking who the third heroine is if i wrote hitsugi out of existence. its euclyta :D because i can and because i believe in the power of love skjdhsj

after the end of the story, things go quiet and they try to resume life and live in peace. meyneth and euclyta get married a few years later. i am still ironing out how i want this ending to connect to ngs bc we still have so little lore on the meteorn but i’ll make it work. i now realize this was supposed to be about mey and i somehow still ended up rambling a bit about euciemey in the process whoops. anyway .

It had seemed like the area was deserted at first, but a gasp nearby eventually had him raising his head and looking over to the source of the noise with a little frown...it seemed a human had seen him.

"It's rude to stare. I mean, I know I'm pretty and all, but come on. You act like you've never seen a guy with a tail before." He's being sarcastic. Trying to decide if the human would run off on their own, or if he would have to head out, instead.

Sybil & Zikiriel (As soon as I saw this one, I felt like they would have a sort of cute dynamic-- whatever that dynamic might end up being. I can see Zi trying to watch over her a little, especially with her troubles with memory loss!)

"Miss? Are you alright? You seem a little...lost." The angel had noticed her a minute or two prior, and the more he watched, the more he was convinced that something wasn't right. "If you need some help, I'd be happy to offer some assistance."

Kiyoshi & Alsina (I could see them getting along, though Alsina would probably poke fun at Kiyoshi here and there, with how gullible he is. That aside though, she's pretty easy going, and is more than happy to jump into a conversation about anything and everything!)

"Incidentally, I have never been somewhere like this, before. I am, ah...hypoglycemic (or close enough, anyway. She hoped she was remembering the right term!) so I simply came into the first restaurant I passed." Her eyes scanned over the menu for a moment, before ordering tea, alongside something sweet. Julius & Zeqyabin (I think they could balance each other out pretty well, even just in the fact that Zebi tends to be pretty lowkey, and quiet; happy to sit back and listen to others talk. Julius' flair for the dramatic would also remind him a little bit of one of two of his loved ones too, so he'd be relaxing around Julius pretty early on)

The demon is crouched down at the base of a tree, and seems to be collecting something growing on it. A type of moss, that he was carefully tucking into a bag. He probably looks pretty odd when the stranger notices him, but Zebi doesn't seem to mind. In fact, he even flashes the other a friendly smile, and a wave!

A bit early this time but these two weeks or so won't really make much of a difference so yeah.

Checking stuff I wrote about before... I failed the 100 days of art challenge. But I did draw the Father daki, even if at the last moment. Still no comms open but it's barely july so. Maye. We'll see.

Current game stuff

Eeeh... Idk where to start so... Impostor Syndrome hasn't really seen much progress. I wasn't joking in that tl;dr. Reason being about the same as usual + the fact I was actually busy and properly afk irl. Shocking.

I mean, pretty sure I did basically no dev for around three months already if you don't count that one day I did some programming on Enmity but it's going extremely slowly cause it's basically all committing to a very bad decision. If someone ever tells you that having a window of space that's not even rectangular in your textbox is a good idea, don't believe them and kick them away while you're at it. I knew it was a mistake from the very beginning and I'm sticking to it. At least adding transitions, drawing all the missing art etc later would be pretty fast compared. I do have lotsa materials to compile and documents to make irl but I think I'll be done by the end of july or so so the game would most likely be finished before Spooktober. I think. Maybe.

Soon after the winter update, I was told two of the games I was working on were suspended indefinitely/cancelled and thanks to the whole team for your hard work. I talked about one of them here [with Doibats] and the other one I'm pretty sure I never mentioned. I wanted to join another team, then, but life was like 'NO >:C' so I had to leave soon after orz Good thing I wasn't anyone important.

I think for now I'll just focus on finishing my other games or correcting stuff from the "24 >:C" list since a lot of that is minor enough I could do it in a day or two and just couldn't've bothered before. If I work on anything, you'd probably just see it suddenly appear on my ich profile with more info during the next update.

thinking abt the journey and a half my DC hyperfixation has been.

I was a DCAU only girlie for so long. (BTAS, Batman Beyond, Teen Titans, YJtv, GLtv). I enjoyed the DCEU too, but i was WAY too wrapped up in MCU brain-rot to dive too deeply into those. But that was it. Zero interest in comics themselves as a lil squirt.

Eventually I stopped caring abt the DCEU entirely. (around WW’84, tho it had nothing to do with that movie, i just never saw it — and didnt see any of the movies that came after). And got WAY into Marvel™. And i kinda just rode that wave.

When Marvel started branching out into shows i was HYPED — esp since they started that shit off with WandVision. I’d always loved Wanda, and the fact that they brought Billy and Tommy in was all i needed to push me into reading comics

i tore through the young avengers (UGH i miss them <;/3), and other titles associated with them, and was having a blast. At some point around the season finale of Loki (good show, this was just also how the cookie crumbled) I just fell off Marvel in general. A lot of this probably had to do with school ramping up around this time — but i stopped reading comics & watching their shows and movies almost entirely.

Around this time tho, bc i Missed reading comics — i started reading webcomics. And as much as i enjoyed reading Marvel comics for that short period of time, webcomics were what made me fall in love with Comics™ as a medium.

6th semester ended, i was elbows deep in world building for my own webcomic project, and started watching anime while working on it. Again, anime was always one of those things i enjoyed (Digimon, Sailor Moon, and Pokémon were some of the most influential pieces of media in my entire childhood), but my love for it as an art form was really solidified during this time

[side note: can you Tell i was dealing with art school shit during all of this? couldn’t turn the critique brain off literally Ever, so anything i enjoyed got put under the art student lens]

But my interest in anime stayed entirely on the animated side of things for a Long Ass Time. It wasn’t until Jujutsu Kaisen that i got shoved headlong into manga. God that stupid fucking anime changed my life, ANYWAY.

I finished the anime (umm maybe like. 5 times), and then HAD to know what happened next. So i devoured the manga. Every spare moment i had was spent reading it, until i was Done. then i was like orz. what do u do now ??

The answer was do the exact same thing with Demon Slayer. which was ALSO a life changing experience. read 鬼滅の刃 pls pls pls

Now. When i finished KNY, i was also like *head in hands* how do i even keep on living?? But this was also while working on my thesis project, and still doing a lot of work on the side as far as my own comic was concerned. (like… 60k words worth of world building & drafting scripts + designing characters), so its not like i had all that much free time.

anyway — i finished up my 8th semester, and barely gave myself a chance to breathe before i threw myself into working on my comic practically full time.

I was working on a one shot to submit to a contest for Webtoon, and they were asking for a pretty substantial amount of content (60+ panel Action comic one shot. and I, as always, love to make things harder on myself, so i think in one of the later drafts it ended up having over 100 panels).

needless to say, i Did Not finish the oneshot in time (its still not done to this day T~T i’ll come back for you forge, dont worry). But, toward the end of that… 3 month span of feverishly working on this project, i found myself falling in love with DC all over again.

I mentioned YJtv before, but that show was Also something that changed my life as a 10 year old.

(its really funny to think about that show now & how it’s release date lines up with the beginning of the N52 continuity, and how both the show & that particular reboot are so strongly disliked by a vast majority of DC’s fanbase — but thats a post for another day)

I’ve rewatched the show at least once a year since my roommate let me start using their HBOMax login. I know seasons 1 and 2 like the back of my hand bc of how much i watched them growing up, and i like season three well enough. But the thing was that on this unsuspecting summer night, i was about to discover that there were New Episodes.

Dude i was hyped, i was losing my shit. I had resigned myself to the knowledge that this show was never coming back. I was okay with it too. But here it was, alive and kicking after what felt like forever.

Heres the thing tho. They killed off Kon.

okay not really, but at the Time boy boy was Dead, and i was devastated. Thats My Boy. He had been my favorite character from the jump, and i did not know how to process him being gone. So i took a break from the show, and turned to ao3 instead.

At this point i was Not an avid fic reader. I wasn’t an avid reader period – outside of manga – but i had read a few really good fics recommended to my by some of my JJK pals. So i looked at the Kon-El | Conner Kent character tag on ao3 and just scrolled until i found something interesting.

In this case: a Timkon fic (this one in particular).

I knew who Tim was before this (He shows up in YJtv. He's there in BTAS), but I had never thought about him and Kon as... anything really. In the versions of them i was familiar with, they don't interact all that much. They're from different generations of heroes, but i was like, hey, what the hell this sounds cute. And man oh man, it was all down hill from there.

I read more TimKon fic, and just fell in love with them. But i was also... confused. Like... why do these two guys have such a robust fanbase... wheres the link.

THAT is what pushed me to start reading Detective Comics Comics for the first time. I wanted to get to know these guys For Real, and the only way to do that was by digging into the source material.

This post is So long oh shit. I have thoughts about How I got to know the kiddos & how the comics i read (as well as the order i read them in) have influenced my understandings of these little guys. But i think thats a post for another day. I have other things to do than write out a post about my media consumption habits

I overall really love the character dynamic between Scout and Spy. Just look at how fucking smug Spy is here knowing full well Scout's gonna tell everyone that Spy is better than him [Scout] so the former can help the latter get a date with Miss Pauling.

Idk, it's cute that Demoman and Sniper are playing the piano and saxophone together while Scout's undergoing his gentleman training arc.

A/N: This was actually the first request I received, thank you 🐏 anon! Sorry for taking so long (ノ_<。) It’s still a lil’ hard for me to write one-off scenarios without going mad on the backstory /sobbing/ This used to be… 2-3k words? Then it was cut down bc I think the backstory might’ve been unnecessary, and then I had a looong time of going back and forth on whether I wanted to keep the backstory- and finally settled on ~1.5k words orz 

I’m not sure if I wrote Kohaku’s character properly either?? A little confused on how to go about this boy, sorry if I mischaracterized him! The title is kinda weird too… At time of posting, it’s nearly 12 am and my brain is sneepy, I can’t think of anything better for now, sorry! orz

KOHAKU OUKAWA ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆

It’s been weeks. Close to two months now, where he barely had the chance to speak to you or even see you. Kohaku was going to go mad. 

He had taken every chance he could think of to interact with you - eating at the cafe where you worked as a part-timer (he had picked you up from the entrance of this very cafe to go play several times), visiting your favourite shops (both of you frequented sweet shops, often together instead of alone), even near-spam texting you and sending pictures of the scenery around him (he missed going to the park with you, where you’d worry and fuss over him whenever he climbed a tree). 

Yet he was met with no results. Every time he tried to reach you, you turned away, leaving him to grasp blindly at the space you left behind in his heart. Why? Were you sick of him tagging alongside you all the time? Had he wronged you in an unforgivable way? 

Kohaku seemed cold and aloof at times, but he truly cared for the people around him, cared about what they thought of him, including you - or maybe especially you, with how much he enjoyed hanging out with you, making you laugh, hearing you ramble on in that hushed voice of yours when you both came across something interesting. He missed you. 

And what would he, Kohaku Oukawa, do when he missed someone? That’s right - seek them out to no end (A first time, but this was apparently what he did).  

And perseverance is rewarded. 

“Wait!” 

He finally, finally manages to catch you one day, quite literally too. Kohaku had reached out and grabbed your arm the moment he saw you again, your body already turning away in an attempt to escape, but his hold on your arm was firm and unyielding. 

“Why? Why are ya running away from me?” Words pour out of him, afraid that you might go before he hears an answer, a conclusion, an explanation for your actions. His grip on your arm tightens in his panic, making you wince slightly. He doesn’t notice, desperation clouding his mind. “Please, talk to me. Did I do something wrong?”

You hurriedly land your other hand over his, trying to loosen the pink-haired boy’s grasp, prying his fingers away. “Kohaku, let go!” 

Lavender eyes widened with shock and remorse, and your arm was suddenly free. His gaze left you, teeth nibbling away at the inside of his mouth. He couldn’t look at you. How could he have done that? He hurt you. You had every right to hate him, run away, lash out… 

Kohaku blinks when his hovering hand is held, fingers wrapping around his palm. Then after a moment, another hand follows, surrounding his hand and heart with warmth. He stares at your collapsed hands for a moment, before lifting his head. This time, you were the one avoiding his eyes, choosing to fix your gaze on your hands as he’d done earlier. 

“... I’m sorry.” 

He also didn't expect to hear that. 

What were you sorry for? Why were you sorry? He was the one who should apologize, not you. But his mouth refused to open, throat still constricting with guilt. 

“I’m sorry,” You repeat, voice so soft the Kohaku would have missed it if not for his yearning to simply hear you for the past weeks. “I shouldn’t have… I…” 

Were you looking for an excuse to make him feel better? Kohaku would rather have the cold, hard truth. If you were truly sick and tired of him, he would accept it. At least, that was how he hoped he would react. 

“Do ya hate me?” A straightforward question - he hated beating around the bush. 

“What-?” Your teary eyes finally meet his - you were close to crying. But why? Why, why, why? He wants to hold you, to comfort you in the only way he knew, learnt from his younger years on the internet. But the male couldn’t bring himself to tear his hand away from yours, so instead, he reaches up with his other hand while you shake your head furiously. “No, no, never - I don’t hate you. Not at all-!” 

You fall silent when he makes contact with the side of your head, awkwardly stroking and messing up your hair. Kohaku’s heart practically melts when you let out a small sob and nuzzle your head further into his palm, closing your eyes as you did so. He had missed you so, so much. And it didn’t look like you had avoided him because you hated him - a relief, but why had you been avoiding him, then? 

“I…” It’s only when your mouth moves again that he realises he had spoken his latter thoughts out loud. You lifted your head away from his touch, much to his disappointment, but your hands stayed firmly around his. The male feels little taps on his hand, from your fidgeting thumbs. Were you nervous? Scared? Why? 

He had so many questions, but no answers. Not yet, at least. 

Kohaku awaits your response, bringing his other hand to join your already-linked hands, eyes fixed on you and you alone. Something bubbled in his chest, an unfamiliar feeling, but he ignores it, deeming your answer of more importance at this moment. 

“I…You.” 

“Hah? I can’t hear ya. A little louder?” He wonders why your face has become a shade of light pink like his hair, colour becoming more intense with every passing second. “... Hello?” 

“I like you!” 

“Eh?” 

Did he hear you wrongly? He must’ve. There was no way- How- And him, him of all people? 

Mind still reeling from your confession, he nearly misses your following words. “I’m sorry.” You say, looking down. That only confuses the pink-haired boy even further. What were you apologizing for, now? For avoiding him? For having just confessed? For liking him? 

Something blooms in his chest. Kohaku quickly pries his hand out of your grasp, instead engulfing you in a hug. He finally releases the breath he’d been holding ever since weeks ago, tense shoulders sagging as he holds you close. 

“Don’t apologize. Ya got nothin’ to say sorry for,” His voice is nearly muffled in your shoulder, but he was close enough that you could hear him anyway. A long sigh is dragged out from him, fingers curling around the back of your clothes. “Ya seriously avoided me for so long because ya liked me? What kind of backwards logic-” 

He cuts himself off with another sigh. Kohaku was just so relieved, so happy, so satisfied right now, being able to hold you like this without you pushing him away. He never knew he needed this, but he never wants to stop hugging you now. 

“Sorry… I- Just forget what I said,” Your forehead rested on his shoulder, voice wavering, nearly pleading with your next words. “...Can we still be friends?” 

Friends? Kohaku didn’t think that was the next step after one confessed to another. Was he missing something here… Oh. He was so caught up with everything happening at once that he forgot the most important, and possibly most embarrassing part. 

“I, um, I like ya too. Like, a lot,” His voice lowers to a mumble, almost embarrassed to say the words he had only read in his comics. The male wasn’t one to express his affections so blatantly, whether with words or actions - but with you here, already in his arms, perhaps he could show some weakness. 

“...Really?” He feels slightly hurt at the disbelief in your soft voice, pulling back to grip your shoulders and look you dead in the eyes, violets staring into you. 

“When have I eva’ lied?” 

Your gaze shied away from his, blinking off to his left instead as you gave an answer. “...Never?” 

“That’s right. So do ya think I’m lying now, of all times?” Kohaku tilts his head to the left to catch your eye again, voice dropping to a shaky whisper as his brows furrow. The male’s hands leave your shoulders, finding your limp hands again to cup them and hold them up as if he were praying to you. “Ya know me better than anyone, I would think. If ya don’t know if I’m lyin’ or not right now, who would?”

You were his friend, his confidant, his respite, his… Everything, basically. This feeling in his chest was close to overwhelming him at this point - a first, he thinks. Or maybe not. Maybe he had always felt this way around you, but was too utterly distracted by your presence and how much joy it brought him that he had never realized. 

He was happy to have you around. He was happy to have you. You made him happy. 

Such simple logic, and Kohaku had never noticed until he was deprived of your company for a month or so. Sigh, how stupid he was, Kohaku now realized. He should know to cherish you more. To cherish the ones he loved more. 

“If that’s the case, then… What does make us?” 

“I think... Lovers?” He couldn’t stop himself from the sheepish grin spreading across his face, saying that word, even more so when he sees your face turning into various shades of pink again. His face right now probably matched his hair too, a whole palette of cherry-blossom pink displayed for your eyes only. 

He watched intently as several emotions flashed across your face at once - surprise, bewilderment, embarrassment, and finally, settling on joy. The smile he had wished to even catch a glimpse of in the past month was in front of him, cheekbones hiding a sliver of your eyes. 

“Lovers, then.” 

Kohaku swore he’d never felt more like a giddy, honey-drunk bee than that very moment.

“But seriously, don’t ya go avoiding me like that again! Ya scared me…”

I'm sorry if you've got these question before but I have to ask: what made Alisdair speak to Arthur in Glasgow Scale? Did Arthur and Dai have any other family? What life did Arthur leave behind in Kent, and was Alisdsir's life much changed afterwards?

I love how your short stories pack so much life into them, they can be unfolded ten times over and I still would want to know more

hehe I have been wondering whether it would be too indulgent to write TGS from Alasdair's point of view, actually. It would be a longer piece and much more dialogue heavy, covering from the night they met to Arthur moving in.

(Here is where I confess that TGS was going to be a multi-chapter fic/ one of those 15k single-chapter fics until i got worried I would disappoint people by taking too long to update or missing scoteng week entirely orz sorry everyone)

But to answer your questions!

Alasdair, as i mentioned here had just been released from custody and made his way straight to the hospital (no time to rush home and hop in the shower when you're naw even sure your brother is still alive). He is still running high on adrenaline a when he goes to find a seat in the waiting room, having been dismissed by the nurses that won't let him into Sean's room. It may not show much on him, but emotionally he is all over the place; angry, furious, even, and worried. Exhausted and fed up with the proceedings of loss; the bureaucracy of pain. Having someone in hospital is one of the hardest things to go through; a lot of the time it is worse to be the one waiting outside than it is to be the one hooked onto an IV. Alasdair is burning for a smoke and out of filters but the truth is that the reason why he sits next to Arthur is that something in him recognises him as a younger brother-- Dai was older. Call it instinct. I don't believe he would rationalise it and I do think that at some point Arthur would ask him outright "Why did you choose to sit next to me that night? Why me?" Alasdair probably would not have the words o explain it beyond some vague sense that Arthur was the only person in that room that made sense to him in that moment.

Arthur and Dai only had each other, really. Maybe a distant relative here and there but no one close. I won't go into detail to spare anyone who might come across this without a cw but it is partly why Dai is almost meticulous with the instructions he leaves behind; he knows that Arthur won't have any support going forward so as much as he can he tries to make it easy.

(It is patently not. It could never be. Nothing about loss could ever be but losing someone under those circumstances especially is unmanageable.)

When Arthur calls Dai's workplace to try and let them know he is not coming in to work they seem a little baffled and tell him that Dai had put in his two weeks already. It makes Arthur nauseous; it almost brings him to his knees. It makes him realise how long Dai had been planning this for and that as much as the loss of him itself is worse than any nightmare.

Moving onto lighter things, what Arthur leaves behind in Kent is a slightly bemused flatmate and a few odd pieces of furniture. He only moves in with Alasdair after he finishes his degree! Dai and him grew up nestled deep in the Welsh borders (I needed them both to have a piece of their namesake countries with them! so the borders it was) lost their mother in their late teens, shortly after Arthur gets approved for his student loan. Some more deep lore for TGS: that the reason why Dai is studying in Edinburgh are the student fees. He is older than Arthur, as I mentioned, so went off to uni a year before he did with his mother's support. She was already sick when Arthur was finishing up school and gone before he got his A-levels back. That summer, Dai comes down from Scotland to help him back and move into his first-year accommodation in Kent and that is the last time they spend more than a couple of weeks together at a time. Everything they own between them and whatever their mum left is split even; they get a few boxes each and a couple of furnishings, and that's all they really need. Eventually, Arthur might start feeling that loss as well and he might feel nostalgic about his home town, the flat they shared with their mother, and he might return to seek out familiar sights. Dai never grows old enough for her loss to lose its sting. They have different fathers (both still living) but neither keep in touch; their wee family of three (and then two) was plenty enough for them.

(Alasdair, contrastingly, comes from a Big Family. They fold Arthur right in, don't ye worry.)

And last of all, Alasdair's life does change pretty significantly after the events in The Glasgow Scale. He stops smoking, for one, but he also starts drinking less. By the time we meet him in this AU he has already done a lot of the work to get a hold on his temper and it's partly why he is not one of the brawlers in the fight that puts Sean in a coma. But he still has a ways to go and Arthur helps with that, more than he knows. He learns to think about someone else's needs in a deeper way than he ever has before and starts to see his own actions through someone else's eyes. Alasdair post-TGS is guilt-ridden to a fault and being good to Arthur helps him get a grip of himself.

This is a bit of a spoiler but a few months after Dai's death, Arthur gets a call from one of his classmates. Dai left behind a few things (he was an artist, Dai was you see) and he offers to hold onto them until Arthur can travel back up to pick them up. Arthur mentions this to Alasdair, who he's kept in touch with (a little awkwardly at first ksks do not be fooled they are deeply emotionally constipated in this AU despite the way they latch onto each other in the midst of their respective trauma) and Alasdair offers to bring them down for him instead. He kinda just blurts it out actually haha and is afraid that it was too forward of him when Arthur takes too long to answer that aye, that would be good actually, if Alasdair is sure (he cannae afford a ticket up to Scotland is the truth).

This is a whole wee story in its own right but essentially they get to meet each other again, under better circumstances, and that lays a stronger foundation for their eventual relationship. It is also an incredibly awkward visit at first adgfjdhgj which oddly enough helps them get over a lot of personal hang-ups.

One thing about this fic though is that for as much as their lives are changed irrevocably by what they lose and earn that night, they are still very ordinary people hhh and that's what I love about them both.

Late night shower thoughts gave me a potential Omari AU idea cuz I was playing around with the ideas of the gang's creativity which led to a cute lil thought of Sunny telling his friends bout his ideas, especially Mari and Basil. And that thought led me to a what if scenario like, Mari writing down and practically just clinging onto the creative ideas Sunny told her when he was alive.

AND THAT SCENARIO, led me to the AU idea. Omari but Sunny died during the argument. Hero saw it, they called 911, oh no Sunny died. Mari was too shaken up to say anything so Hero covered for her by telling everyone that Sunny fell by himself on accident.

Funeral happened and Mari still hasn't gotten over her little brother's death and something in her just s n a p p e d (it's her sanity honestly) So she just threw herself to her studies and something else, aka working on bringing Sunny's creative ideas to life by making DOLLS! Oh wow she even made one of Sunny too. There's a little stage as well, and a little house, practically the other side of the bedroom is filled with a mini lil stuff for the dolls. She is not okay. But hey she at least found a way to balance between her studies and creating her lil personal project cuz one time she fainted and that was a HUGE waste of time! Better not faint again!

It also won't be any good if Sunny saw his sister acting so differently! Better keep her smile and perfect sister image in tact! Sunny is still here, see? He's in the bed sleeping with his other little friends. Keep quiet! Don't wanna wake him up, Mari will be studying in her corner.

Hero knows the truth and is also going through it. Internal battle of whether he should tell the others the truth or not but it isn't Mari's fault! He didn't lie, it was an accident definitely. He also semi threw himself to his studies too but also not really fully cuz he gotta be there for the others. He is also not okay.

Aubrey and Basil has each other. Yeah, neither of them didn't become delinquents! I just think that, considering Sunny's death wasn't covered, Basil would be semi-understanding of Mari as someone who tries to take on her same role as caretaker. But there IS definitely something they're still missing about Sunny's death, Mari is acting way too weird.

Kel keeps everyone's morale up still which is not a good thing for the boy! Hero looks tired 24/7, Mari barely talks to them cuz she's so busy with school and whenever she does it's just unnerving cuz why does she act like everything is okay? Also why does she always carry a doll that looks so much like Sunny. They aren't allowed inside their house anymore either and Mari once got angry when Kel tried to go up the stairs! But it'll be alright if he tries to follow her too right? Mari was the glue of the group so if she's acting the same then he should too! Gotta cheer everyone up!

So basically it's an Omari AU with an unhinged Mari that acts like Sunny's still alive featuring tired Hero, Kel burying his feelings even more, Aubrey doesn't like what's happening, and Basil has a lot of questions. And it's also an AU that I don't think I can put that much attention to so I'm just throwing it out here. (pls... i made it a rule for myself that all the aus i make should have omori but no matter how much i twist and turn and flip this au i dont think i can fit omori in fam, without sunny its impossible to do orz)
